I was taught only one space.
Lol - woohoo - one it is!!
Thanks ladies!
Two is an older convention, based on typewriters, and the letter sizes. Where letters like M and I took up different space, and the double space after the fullstop allowed for a more even typing presentation, and clear distinction between sentences. It is probably more uptodate, with the new fonts to only do one space. But old habits die hard...
I agree with that Rufalina....
I was taught that as a cadet at the police academy, and the application is for work - I'm feeling like I'm risk taking by only putting in the one space....wow - I live life on the edge these days lol!!!
My DH works in the public sector and he is very thingy about two spaces... and I must say, I go through letters and documents from younger staff and double space everything....![]()
Good luck with your application.
Ok showing my age... I always put 2 spaces after a full-stop. I find that it's easier to read, especially if it's a large block of text. If the text is more point form I wouldn't worry about it so much.
I never ever realised that people only put one space...I always do two.
