Just an update, Dh resigned last week. He already has a new job to go to, which is more money and definitely less hours.

Last week he was processing the pays. When he had finished his, he realised that he gets paid for a 38hr week, yet his total hours for the fortnight was 148hrs. Almost double what they pay him for. So he gets paid for 76 hours a fornight, and he totalled 148hrs. Im having a guess but I think that is no where near the mark for reasonable hours. Also they said that they arent hiring any new staff until the federal election has been held. Cause that makes a whole heap of sense.

not too good from what he said. I know that they counter offered. same hours, no new staff but he would get the rostered days off that he had asked for a year ago. Somehow that didnt compare. The bosses are also planning on letting the apprentice go, so Dh has offered him a job where he is going. And he offered another staff member a position at the new place. So old work isnt handling it too well.

    Thanks LS

    Reasonable Overtime?

Wow what a disgraceful employer! I know the industry has high expectations but that amount of overtime unpaid is over the top, hope your dh goes well with the new job

I'm glad your DH has something better to go to. His old employer was taking advantage of him badly in my opinion.
