I split my time between my place and DP's place. When I'm there I travel about an hour each way on the train to get to work. I wouldn't drive, even though DP and I have done it when he has had meetings in the city, we've driven in together. We're up at 6am & out the door just after 7am.

Our situation is different, I currently stay in the city when I have uni, which is 3 nights a week. We only have the kids every 2nd weekend, so it doesn't impact that much as I am home on either a Friday night or Saturday morning (sometimes I drive, sometimes I catch the train).

I use my travel time to study & since the stop is almost at the end of the line, I get a seat in the mornings.

DP works 10-15 min drive in the opposite direction & needs his car for work, so he drives.
