The one I find saying the most in here is: "This too shall pass".
I used to love the words of Oscar Wilde and his gems such as:
"It is absurd to divide people into good or bad.... they are either charming or tedious".
I have also lived by this saying by Nan Witcomb:
"If you have been used to satisfy the lust of others
your body and mind may be scarred
but your soul can remain untouched and pure
unless you perpetuate the evil..."
But the words of children are often the most profound:
"Best of all is a pencil and paper. If you don't have something you can always draw it or write about it. That's almost as good as the real thing to me". (Sally-Anne age 8)
When I was in high school I used to keep a little note book of interesting things that I heard people say such as:
"Gaggle, gaggle, gaggle.... Miss, they sound like a bloody flock of magpies on a telephone pole". (fellow student, male, complaining about the girls sitting at the back of class to our teacher. Year 11) Sorry that was a bit off topic but since I had my book of quotes out...![]()
