Definitely love those days when they seem to sleep forever!

Kylie: I looked at Liam's website, those photos are BEAUTIFUL! Felix was only 1 ounce smaller than Liam, they even looked a little alike at birth!
And I saw the photo of you for the wedding, you look beautiful! The tired from moving one doesn't count as that is not a time you should be photographed! I have some GHASTLY ones with Felix while breastfeeding (DP loves to take them THEN!) it would seem to a person looking over his album that he was hanging off my breast all day long (of course this is partially true..the boy loves his boobie!)

Christy: Matilda is AMAZING, she sounds very advanced for her age, we have a baby like that in my mothers group but he's no where near that active..I think you should be prepared for an early crawler!

It started off terribly though, with Aidyn refusing to nap for the first 5 hours of the day...
but things got better cause DP came home from work sick. And before you think I'm a nasty woman I'll let you know that its because he forgot to take his insulin in the morning... so he got home and took it, and was feeling much better a bit later, but still had the rest of the day off!!!
So I put him to work, playing with Aidyn and bathing him, and then he drove us to BabyCo to pick up a Jolly Jumper for Aidyn, and then back to Toowong shops where I put the rest of Aidyns Christmas presents on layby, and bought some groceries.
Had DP not come home I would have only gotten less than 50% of this stuff done!!
I have to say I think the Jolly Jumper is one of the best things we have ever bought him. It is unbelieveable how much fun he has!! He was just soooo excited and amazed!! And it was adorable to see him dancing and bouncing around - we even took a short video clip of it on BIL's digi-cam. It will be good for him to get some excercise too, and build up some strength in his legs, as he is so heavy it is hard for him to hold himself up!
I'm not going to use it too often though, as I have heard they can cause developmental problems in the feet & back etc if used excessively.

Well done to all the clever bubbies who are rolling around. I am happy for Jessica to take her time at reaching all milestones as she is my last bubbie and I really want to njoy every minute.

Spiddles- it probably won't be long and Liam will sleep through that bottle in the very early hours, especially if he is starting to sleep a little longer. Jessica mostly cataps during the day, more so if we are out. She will have a few hours in the bassinette in the middle of the day when we are home. BUt she tires herself out with all her awake time and now sleeps from aboput 8.30/9pm to 4/5 am. it's so nice. She is alos drinking 5 bottles of about 120ml a day, which is a big change from 70 or 80 mls x 5 feeds.

Re weight: After my first things bounced back pretty quick, it was after my 2nd that it stuck, I don't think I did enough exercise as I went back to work full time when he was 13 weeks and was absolutely exhausted. After 12 months I still had 8kgs to lose and I had only put on 12 altogether. We were getting married in the Jan so in the Oct we started watching what we were eating and I walked 4 or 5 times a week for 1 hour a day, power walking, pushing Josh in the pram up the steepest hills in Kilmore with poor Jordan who was 6 running along behind asking "Are we nearly there?" and me saying "Hurry up, the faster we walk the quicker we get home!" LOL poor dear! I lost the 8kgs in 3 months.

I haven't been back to that weight yet but the weather has been far too cold at the moment to walk much, as soon as it gets nice we are going to start walking again, daylight savings is great because we leave as soon as tea is done, and come home, bath kids and put them to bed.

Don't beat yourself up about weight, it's easy to gain but harder to lose. Amazingly I am only about 5-6kgs over my ideal weight at the moment, which I am happy with, but not satisfied to stay at that.

Hi dd, Poor Shynelle, hope she is better very soon. It's a bit of a shock to get on and everyone has typed so much, it took me 2 days to finally catch up when I came to this forum. I hope Jemma works it out soon, but I think the more pressure I put the longer it will take so I am just letting her do her own thing.

Susan- Brandon is almost 6 months, that has just flown. Who else has not long to go in here?

Anyway, must fly Arron went fishing again today. Good life he's got. I had the kids all day, made toasted sandwiches for tea, bathed Josh and Jemma, after I had fed Jessica and put her down at 8pm. Then Jemma went to bed at 8.20 and the othr 2 at 8.30, although Josh comes out at least 20 times. I am tired, my back is sore, but I bet stinky fish man won't massage it, his hands will be too sore from reeling in 20,000 flathead, Whoopee! I hate fish!

Thanks Katanya!! Now that you say it Felix and Liam do look sort of alike!! My photographer that took Liam's baby photos knew better than to take photos of me!! She did our wedding photos back in March and is a friend of ours. Only took photos of Liam and also with daddy's hands. I don't think my DH has been game to take photos of me breast feediing.

Michelle Fingers crossed he will get there soon. Didn't sleep as well last night as had bowling. He fell asleep there at 8 and when we came home at 10:30 wanted another feed and sleep til 3:45 then up at 6:30. Liam had 7 feeds yesterday of 120 mls plus boob (think the 7th feed was because we went out). He has always been a little porker. Hope I am not overfeeding him. I usually express these days as he will just sit and suck all day on the breast and screams when you put him down. He seems more content drinking from a bottle which is ok as only takes 10-15 mins to express 120mls and at least I can see how much he is getting. Its good to hear Jessica is sleeping well.

hey girls... just a quicky as I'm not well today... Matilda's doing well... until I missed some tired signs & then she screamed for an hour (I missed them because I was busy blowing my nose ...lol) So she's asleep again & I'm going to lay down as well.... I hope you all have a great day!!

Oh! One more thing...how is everyone's backs??? Mine is really playing up today! It feels like someones swung a sledgehammer in between the shoulder blades, and sometimes it even hurts to breathe.... :-k no I don't like it....

My back has been sore since I was 2-3 months pregnant, I guess because DP stopped giving me massages when I was pg, and now he doesn't have the energy anymore. He had blood tests on Monday, but we don't know what's wrong yet. The doctor thinks I have an inflammation in my back. Did the hospital give you any back exercises?
You have to be sure and lift Matilda with your knees, not your back as babies are quite heavy, yet we generally don't take the care lifting them that we would anything else just as heavy. I don't have shoulder muscles anymore, I have steel cables. well that's what it feels like lol, but the worst spot is my lower back, and I have to watch that I don't stay on the computer for too long at a time or I have trouble standing again.

Nice to have DP home hey Ambah? I hate wednesdays, as DP is out for the whole day, not just parts like the rest of the week. Which means Brandon has to wait for his bath until daddy gets home, as I can't do it by myself, so we normally just put him in with DP, so they both get a bath, only DP has to add hot water whne Brandon gets out lol.

BRandon's not too impressed, I've dumped in his chair to watch baby einstein, but it's on repeat play and already gone through 1 1/2 times. Time to throw on the radio and grab a book and we can both have some floor time, but here's hoping he'll go to sleep before I get there anyway. He only tends to nap once during the day, and if he doesn't get that morning nap he's so cranky the rest of the day. (And by morning I mean before 2-3pm lol) He won't have another nap until after simpsons (which means after 8 tonight) and then he'll sleep from between 8-9 to whenever I wake him up for last feed (around 10-11ish) and then straight back to sleep through the last half of the bottle and through till 6am. I t used to be 8am, and it was this morning, but only because last feed was at midnight. I'm not liking this sun rising earier thing. Bring on Daylight savings where he'll go back to waking at 7am at least.

Ambah - so glad you had a nice day yesterday!! YAYAYAY!!

I had to take Jacob to the doctor today....I was beginning to suspect that he had a touch of eczema, and as it happened, I was right! I've had a bit of it before myself, so I knew what to look for I guess. He's also been doing some strange looking khaki-green poos!! Two days ago he did 3 in one morning....considering he does 1 poo per day (2 at max!). He's otherwise happy and healthy, but I thought it best to get him looked at. The Doc said he looks fine and his tummy felt fine etc, but he *may* have a bit of a bug, hence the strange coloured poos....if he's still doing it by Sunday, then I have to take a poo sample into the surgery on Monday for testing....ewww!! Hopefully it will just pass though...I hope my little man is ok! Has anyone else had this happen to their bubs??

I had Kameron's poo tested once Tootie when he had gastro for 4 weeks. Luckily he had done poo right there and then in the doctors surgery so the doctor took the sample. Have you changed anything for him to have green poos ??

Nope, nothing has changed at all. He's fully bottlefed and there's been no change to the amount he's having or the formula type etc etc.

Tootie: when Felix was sick he had green poos too, it is probably just his system saying something is wrong. My friend's baby had green poo for ages and after many tests they just ended up saying she had an imature digestive sysytem..hope you get it sorted out!

Tootie - Aidyn has had strange coloured poos before as well, for no particular reason that I could see. Now I have just put it down to changes when his digestive system matures...
His poos are also permanently a gross dark green colour now, but they gradually started turning that way after I put him on formula only, and now solids have made it worse.

:hugs: Christy... I hope you were able to get lots of rest today and are feeling much better tomorrow. There's nothing worse than trying to take care of a baby when you are sick yourself :(
It also sounds like maybe you have pulled a muscle in your back... I've had that happen to me a few time too, and its scary when you think you wont even be able to pick up your own child because of the agony! Maybe if you try standing underneath a hot shower, directing the flow onto the sore part... I find that can help a bit.

Michelle - 8kgs in 3 months!!! I wish I had that sort of motivatio now!! A couple months ago I was walking at least 3 times a week, but now it has tapered down to just the pram push with Christy once a week.

Brandon's poos have been green since he was on more formula than boob which has been for about 5 months now. I read at my MCHN that green was natural for formula, but I don't know about breast fed babies.
How long has he been on formula tootie?

He's been on formula since he was about 5 days old, and he's 9w old today. So from what I can tell from what you guys have said, he perhaps does have a bug, or it's an immature digestive system, or its the formula?!? Eeeeks...so many possibilities LOL. I may even ring the CHN on Friday and see what they say (it's a public holiday here tomorrow). I trust the Doctor, but I wouldn't mind talking to someone else about it too IYKWIM......I've just been getting myself worked up into a frenzy thinking there's something horribly wrong with my baby!! The thought of it just makes me shudder!! I really appreciate your thoughts guys.... it's good to hear that I'm not the only Mummy whose had a baby with green poos LOL.

Jessica did a yucky chuck after her 3.30pm bottle, and then was screaming for a feed before 7pm. She seems ok though and is sleeping soundly now so I think she's fine. Probably just the heat, it wasn't hot but warmer than it has been.

Tootie, bout the weight loss, I had to get back into my wedding dress which I had brought before I had Josh and I wasn't going to have to buy another.

I had a makeover photography group for Glamour photos ring tonight offering me a special deal as they are coming to Kilmore. I told the girl, my bub is 6 weeks old and I would rather be a little slimmer if I'm going to have that done. I would really like to do it though, they are going to ring if/when they are coming back this way. has anyone else had these photo's taken, where they do the makeover? Get this, men and boys are free, no sitting fee, as are girls under 13, we ladies and teen girls must pay for the sitting fee, because of the actual makeover part I guess.

I finally picked up 3 films from the chemist, I am going to scan some photos and put them on Jessica's site maybe tomorrow. There are some cute ones, and one of her and I and I am very sulky. Arron said "See look at your face!" The thing is he only gets the camera out when I am in the ****s for some reason. But some of the photos are gorgeous. I have to open 3 other email accounts so I can get a site for each child. Otherwise they will start getting jealous. I will give the web address when I put the photos on.

Anyway, it's pretty quiet here tonight/today, for once! Where is everyone?

re green poos_I have often been told that poos can be green due to the body passing the flued through the system too quick for all the nutrients to be absorbed. Eg. Baby drinking more than they need, a Bug which will push the fluid through faster, immature d/tract. to name a few. This can be for b/f babies as well as bottle. It may be non of these. If it does go on for much longer I would get it checked..

Michelle-Jonathan is doing realy well at his toileting. Has been wearing jocks for 9 weeks now and rarely an accident. He even wears jocks to go out now. Take your time and just let Jemma take it slow. She is only 19 months. I could not believe my ds. doing it b4 2 yrs. It's his birthday in 2 1/2 weeks. He is so good with dd. Very protective of her and always needs to know where she is. Loves kissing her and touching hands and toes.

Christy, hope you are feeling better and Matilda has been behavung herself.

Re rolling and early risers due to cold- we used sleeping bags for ds so if he got out of blankets or kicked them off he was still warm. He could also roll in them and it was safe. In summer we sometimes just put him to bed in the s/bag with no sheet/blanket and he was quite comfy.

Re weight- I put more on 1st preg and only lost half b4 2nd preg. Didn't put on as much second and I have lost 2/3 already. only have 4 more kg to lose and I will be less than pe 2nd preg. I will be happy with that and any more would be a bonus but not pushing it. What I have done this time round is I am doing a post preg video exersices 3x per week. Have done it for two weeks and hopefully cane keep it up. Not sure. To be realy serious I need to watch what I eat. Don't beat yourself up though. Just do what you can and take your time.

That's great about Jonathon, Rose! He is so clever! My others didn't start till 2 and a half, but it was done in about 2 weeks.

Jemma is the same with Jessica, she just loves her and is always trying to help, sometimes she's a little rougher than she should be, but that comes from being the 3rd child with older siblings that are rough as well. She kisses her at least 20 times a day.

I can't wait to pick up my professional photos Ambah! I get them Friday. I was a little disappointed that we didn't have more photos of Jessica in the hospital, but at least they weren't fuzzy like the ones I got of Jemma! I was devastated, our zoom lens camera had packed it in and we were using the old camera and all the photos were fuzzy, I remember sitting a crying my eyes out as they were so bad.

I was also dissapointed with my hospital photos. We got a few on the digi cam and my sisters camera, but the professional ones (when he was 2 days old) turned out really badly! It didn't look like Aidyn at all, as his eyes were slitted closed, and I just couldn't bear to pay $150 for photos I didn't like!
I love photos too!!! Am sooo hoping for my own digital camera this christmas!!

If you get a digital camera do you plan to get them printed at the chemist or photo processors or are you printing them yourself. I have a really crappy digital camera and I print my own photos, but my printer really isn't good enough quality to print excellent photos on. Also I am a little unsure about photo papers, and some are really crappy.

My mum and dad have an excellent digital camera, and the photos are perfect, but it was about $600 I think and I don't really have that much for a camera. We were going to buy a camcorder on 12 months interest free, but I am wondering whether we would use it enough. Probably if we had it we would. Dad has one and we can borrow it but if we had our own I could video every time something exciting happened.

When I use BIL's digi-cam I usually just get them printed at a photo processing place. It can be quite expensive though if you only want to print out a few, they usually have deals when you print in bulk.
I have a huge backlog of pics I need to print out for his photo album... I don't think I have anything more recent than 2 months old!
BIL's camera also has a video function, of course it is no where near the quality of a proper camcorder, but still it is nice to have a couple of short video clips of Aidyn doing different things that we can look back on! :)
I hope the digi cam prices go down a bit soon... BIL's was about $700, but he only spent that much cause he does a bit of freelance photography and graphic design so he needs a good one.
I wouldn't want to spend more than $300, but what with moving, there are much more important things for our money to go to. And I'm dreaming if I think I will get a Christmas gift that expensive, LMAO!!!

I did the video camera thing with Kameron and he has around 1.5hrs of footage of him as a baby etc. I haven't even got it out with Lachlan :-s Feel so bad lol. Probably when he starts doing stuff i might get it out more. maybe.

I'm going to go to the physio today and hope for some relief... I've been doing physio stretching for a while now, but I stopped for a little while #-o but this was really weird, I was feeding Matilda and all of a sudden felt like a pop in my back and its been excruciating since... thank goodness the Dr said I could use the rest of the antiinflammatories I had from the caesarean (sp? depending on the trivia question :D )...

We use digital photos and take around 20 a week...LMAO! and we store them on a file on the computer so we can take a cd to the processing centre and yep its cheapest in the city and in bulk...

Ok... off I go to feed the starving child...lol

I am finally joining you in this forum - I have been trying to post all week but you know what it is like!!!

We have a digital camera and at the moment we are taking our memory card to Harvey Norman to get prints - they are 45c for a 6x4 and you get them within about 15 mins.

Things are going well, I can't believe how much time is still spent changing nappies and feeding - we have increased our cleaner to once a week and it is the best money that we spend!!

We went to the health centre last Friday and Luke is now 54.3cm (50.5cm at birth) and 4320g (3750g at birth).

He has now decided that he doesn't want to sleep during the day so he lies there looking around from about 12:30pm until about 8pm with only a few 15 - 30 mins naps. At least this means that he is sleeping better at night - 6 hours last night.

the midwife told me that he shouldn't be awake for more than 5 mins after each feed so I was getting really stressed trying to make him sleep but I am letting him decide now - I try to put him down but if he refuses to sleep then I just give him a cuddle and see what happens.

I find that he goes to sleep easily if I or James hold him - is this a really bad habit to get into?

He has woken again so I had better check on him

WOOHOO!! Glad to see you here carmen. Liam went for 6 week checkup with midwife today. he is now 4960g (3380g at birth) 58cms long (55 cm at birth but when my doc checked at 5 day visit said 51cm who knows)) I told her how I express and drinks 120mls 6 times a day plus some boob and told her how he is more content after bottle. She said as long as I am happy to express and he is happy to keep doing it but should up it to 150mls and see how he goes. He also slept for another 6 hours last nite WOOHOO!! has done that 3 times this week now. I go for my checkup this afternoon with Doc. DH is looking forward to this!! (I am probably more *lol*)

I couldnty live without my digital camera. We bought it for our wedding in March and spent $800 on it last december. 5.1 megapixel. Not happy now as they have come down in price and am still paying it off GRRRR! DH work amaybe getting a Fuji print station one of these days (fingers cross) so makes it even cheaper for us!!

Not happy with real estate agent. Had to go back and clean old flat today. Unscrew telphone point as clean!! What the.....!! and hair in sink. Was like 1 strand. Turned tap on and went down drain and bugs in garage light (its only gonna get more anyway!!!) GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

grrr at that spiddles!! I had our last agent make me do things like that too! There was some dirt in the garage!

carmen - so many people give so much advice, its really what works best for you & him! I found people telling me Matilda should only be awake for an hour at a time, or that she will let me know when she wants to sleep, both didn't work for her... I just wait until she shows me tired signs & put her to bed, but she screams no matter how I get her to sleep, if I hold her, rock her, pat her, leave her (which I won't do...) she still screams herself to sleep and if I just leave her out & not put her to bed she screams longer... so we have a sort of routine which is really flexible. And it works for us, but it took us a good 12 weeks to find it & we are still working on it... its hard too on me because its not what I would have chosed to do with her, but she responds well to it and sleeps heaps better... but thats us...

Speaking of... I went to the physio & it took an hour & Matilda chucked a great big tantrum near the end when I was getting a massage...so that had to stop & she was really tired so I just had to leave...she fell asleep in the car on the way home, so that was good & at least they got to strap my back before I left... apparently I've done some ligament damage & am supposed to not lift anything for two weeks (LMAO!!!!) Obviously she has not had any children.... so I've come home & looked at the basket of wet laundry on the ground & the stuff all over the house and just come back to this room & onto the computer....I won't go out there until I have too!!

Holy Holy Moly... I havent posted for like three days and it took me almost half an hour to catch up!! hehe

Tootie- Ryley's poos are green and sometimes have some yellow in them too. So it seems pretty normal considering Jacob and Ryley had the same start with formula.

I hope your back gets better Christy!! This has made me focus on bending at the knees now like Susan said!!

Kylie you do not look horrible in the pics. I think the wedding picture is beautiful and Liam is growing so well!!

We had our 6 week check today and Ryley is doing mighty well. Dr said that he is more mature in his development than his age. Considering he was 2 weeks late I am not suprised!! :D
He checked me out (huge checkup- just blood pressure!!) and said I am right to go wth anything I want except strenuous stuff like netball and gym- which I am craving to get back into!! so 6 weeks to go until I am normal again totally!!
We have our 6-8 week CHN check up next week- I am excited to see how long Ryley is coz i can see he has grwn so much. He is giggling, smiling, talking and playing so much now I love it!!

He slept through one night this week and is getting much better with his feeds! Does anyone know how much a bub should be drinking coz i think maybe he is being overfed by me. The doc said he was normal size though.

Wow- long post- take care all and I will post more often- I have to to keep up!! hehehe

Well what a morning! Asha's sunburn is going to be fine!!! We have to go back again in 2 weeks to make sure that everything has healed properly but it looks like she will make a full recovery LOL.

I have made the bookings necessary for Asha's naming day which will be on Nov 14th at the Zoo :) The celebrant who married us will be performing the ceremony which is great as she is a lovely lady and she is excited to meet Asha. We haven't told Emma & Jack yet as they will just bug me about it LOL I am thinking that I might try and organise a church christening for when Mum & Dad will be here ... I don't want them to miss out altogether.

Asha is off fer her 4 month immunisations tomorrow ... which I am not looking forward to but they have to be done.

Better go have a heap of things to do before I pick Emma & Jack up from school today.

Pee - When Aidyn was exactly the age that Ryley is now, our CHN told us it was fine for him to be drinking 5x150ml bottles per day. But of course this was also based on his size at the time. He was 5.5kg at that age.

Having a cleaner sounds like a great idea... I am considering getting one in at our new house maybe once a month or fortnight just to mop the floors and clean the bathroom & stuff... But I guess I'll wait & see how I manage first... I'm certainly not doing a very good job here! All I have gotten done today is 2 loads of laundy, and the bottles washed & sterilised... and that is all that I'm going to do!!

Pee - Hudson was having about 6 feeds/day of 120-150mls at that age. I basically just demand feed him, and I'm pretty sure that the CHN said that you can't overfeed at this age, even on formula, as they won't drink if they aren't hungry, and if they do they will just bring the milk back up anyway.

Spiddles - Grrr at the real estate agent. We had an inspection today and they said we need to weed the garden and mow the lawns. We do need to weed, but we only mowed the lawns about 2 weeks ago! And I thought they would just let it go and check at the next inspection, but no, they are coming back in a week to check that it is done grrrrrr. Admittedly we should have done the weeding, but lets face it, weeding is not really top of my list right now, and I'm sure 1 hair and bugs in the garage light really isn't top of yours either lol!

Kelly - Glad to hear Asha's sunburn is on the mend :D . That is a great idea to have her naming day at the zoo! I would never have thought of that. We didn't do a naming day, as we decided it was too much work to organise it lol. We are just lazy.

Hudson is being so silly right now. He wants to sleep and he wants his dummy, but keeps spitting it out and then waking himself up and wanting it back lol! Silly bugga, sometimes I just want to tape that thing in so I don't have to keep putting it back in ROFL. Oh well, at least he is attempting to sleep. Better than we have done for the last few days.

This time it has taken me 40 minutes to catch up on all the posts! Its great to know that if I have any questions about Bailey that I can ask them here and know that someone would be able to give me practical advice!

I'm turning 30 in a couple of weeks and I've asked friends to give me money as I want to buy a digital camera. We just brought a printer last night but does anyone have any advice about what type of camera (brand?) I should buy?

Rose: the miracle wrap is made of t-shirt material. This material is stretchy and gives a little when Bailey moves but since using it, he has only had his arms out twice.

Ambah: The Melbourne Baby expo was great! So many good ideas. We were there from 10am-3pm. Very busy but worth it.

Christy: I too have a sore back right in the middle of the shoulder blades. I see an osteopath once a month and that normally fixes it as sometimes the pain can cause me to have really bad headaches. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Tootie: Bailey has been on formula since about 5 weeks old and his poo is always green with sometimes bits of yellow in it. And always smelly!!!!

Bailey had is 4 month shots today and he screamed and went bright red. Another mum from mothers group had to get her son done too so we then went out for lunch to spoil ourselves on how well we coped!!!! Bailey stayed awake in his pram for most of the afternoon but was very happy. I put him down when I got home @ 3pm which was his feed time, but I think I'll just go with his flow for the next couple of days. No need for panadol yet, but I don't want to speak to soon.

Hi everyone,

I am feeling a bit down tonight, I had Felix weighed today and he has only put on 20 grams in 5 weeks..yes that is right 20 ..so he is only 7.1 kgs still

The thing is he is healthy happy and developing well, I was expecting a low gain due to breastfed babies plateau-ing at 4-5 mths but they said that is usually meaning a 40 gram a week gain. He has been sick and has had diahorea, which is what they said would probably cause it, but even so I feel a little sad. I would never doubt breastfeeding and I know my supply is great, just wish he'd gain a bit more..they told me he'd probably catch up in the next few weeks..fingers crossed..

The hard thing was I had my mothers group today and everyone was weighed and they were like "oh he gained 800 grams in a month etc..what did Felix weigh?" they were really shocked at 20 grams..most of them are formula fed.

wow this board moves faster than ever now..

Felix his first tooth yesterday too...he did really well no grumpiness but he is pouring with dribble!

[-( at those mums re Felix' weight gain!! As long as he is gaining, be it only 20gms that should be fine...he has been sick & usually they don't gain weight while they are in the midst of teething, so don't worry too much katanya!! He'll make up for it!! I mean he's not tiny at all, so you don't have to worry too much! My very good friend has a 9month old who didn't put any weight on for two weeks and even lost weight once! But in all has steadily grown & is doing well...

Dont' feel too bad Katanya. Lachlan is formula fed and his weighed has stayed around the same for quite a while.

yeah I know as long as he's gaining, and there are a million reasons for it but it still makes me feel bad..i just want some rolls on his legs and arms!

I like my mothers group because I think it's important to be around all kinds of people not just people who do things like me. But sometimes I feel like I have to justify my breastfeeding and why I don't want to start solids till 6 mths even though Felix is showing the developmental stages..usually I feel confident, but today I felt like some of them were thinking..she's starving that child

Thanks Kathryn, I know it isn't breastfeeding, probably just Felix and his unique way of growing. It is probably as many of them had so many problems with breastfeeding at the beginning and seem to distrust it, now with Felix not gaining it's like it reinforces this thought..I believe in breastfeeding so much, it's like I feel like I have let the side down by Felix not gaining much weight..ridiculous I know..I'm sure I will feel better tomorrow!

We went shopping today. Fed dd at 1.15 and put down for sleep at 2.15. Usually we would feed at 3.30 b4 going but I thought I would see if she would hold off until getting home. Left for shops at 3.45 and she was awake for most of the time. She made it until 5.15 when sitting in the car waiting for dh so I decided to feed while waiting otherwise she would be VERY upset once home. Letting her go that long made things easier because when we got home I put her straight to bed. She is still asleep although has woken a few times but gone back off.

I didn't think she would go that long but you never do know sometimes unless you try. I think no matter how experienced some mothers are it can still be a trial/experimenting with routines.

Hope all are well and babies are settled. No time for personals. Yay to all that need praise and sympathy to those who need it.:)

Please don't let the other mothers make you feel that way!! Of course you are not starving your child!! As long as he is healthy and developing properly than that is what is most important!!
Besides, isn't 7kg for a 5month old pretty average anyway?

If it makes you feel any better, I feel exactly the same way as you, except coming from the other side. I am very worried that Aidyn has gained too much, and wonder if I made a mistake by starting him on solids at 4 months.
I guess I compare him to other babies the in a similar way to which you are comparing Felix...
But then when I look at all the signs I know he was ready, and even though he is so big now, his weight gain has plateaud out this past month (finally!)
And in the long run it probably is just genetics playing a part as well... Every baby is different, and we all do the best job that we can for our little ones. We should try not feel like others are judging us!! (though easier said than done!)
