Sharon I totally agree with you, it was their stuff up, not his so why should he miss out!
GGGGGrrrrr!
We had a hectic day yesterday, but ever the little Star, BJ sailed through it. SLept really well last night, I think he's just had his 4 month growth spurt...I jinxed myself....after posting about his routine, it all went haywire for a couple of days....increased feeds (and resulting increased wind!) but last night he had a good night (bang smack on what has been "normal" for us for a few weeks) so hopefully we are getting back into that routine.
We are meant to have MCHN appt tomorrow but I'm going out for lunch so I'm going to re-schedule...then he also has vaccs too, possible saturday, if not, then next week....that'll be fun!
Zennie give Russel a congrats hug from me, what a clever boy!
BJ is trying, he digs his back foot (so if he's trying to go to his right, he digs his left foot) into the floor and tries to push off, and often rocks from side to side...won't be long I'm sure!
Wonder what the MCHN is gonna say when I tell her BJ is eating cereal...too bad, not stopping....heehee
I'd better go get some housework done before BJ wakes up and we head out for an epic journey to ikea!
BabyWrangler it appears that the whole class was given the wrong note, not just Jordan, and I realise they can't include the whole class in the finals, so am happy with their explanation.
Oliver slept wonderfully last night, so maybe it's not an ear infection, maybe it's teething, he has had bright red rosy cheeks for a couple of days too, oh well, time will tell.
Sorry I have been absent for a few, days. Am waiting on sparkie at the moment to come and wire in our heater in kids room, as well as back light. He was ment to be here at 10am its now 11am and not even a phone call to say he is running behind. I tell you it will be last time I use this sparkie.
Well we went to see sister and her family on weekend. It was good to catch up.
Wyatt doing fine, Landon fine, Alise good. Am going to try and paint out a room this weekend end, so I can change kids over. Also we got some wall stickers to brighten up kids room and I want to put them on.
Also trying to get some blockout curtains done, DH Granny was sewing teacher and said she would make them for me, if I but all stuff. Fine ok, but how much to do I need? My windows are 1200mm wide. I know I need more for gatter but how much more??? Anyone useful in this area of DIY stuff, please help.
Well I better go, just to let you all know I am still alive.
Grubi, read your post in the other thread and thought if I posted here you'd be more likely to read it. I was having problems with Lila having an upset tummy/watery green poos and found out she was getting too much foremilk. I was feeding more often than necessary and for a shorter period. I let her get really hungry and drain one whole breast completely, like super soft, before offering the other. If she didn't finish one at a feed, I offered it first at the next. Took a few days to gain equilibrium, but now she's down to like 5 or 6 feeds a day with heaps of time between and regular tummy and good poos every few days. Hope that helps?
Hi everyone.... hope you are all doin ok!! Well....where do I start??? My little man is being so frustrating at the moment.!!! His sleeps are getting shorter each night! ARGH!!! He goes down at 7pm then he has a dreamfeed at 10thirty then he is waking around 2thirty at the moment...he used to go through til around 4ish but not anymore???? Not too sure why. It seems as though everyone around me has such a great baby that is sleeping right through!! How do you do it???? Is it me or am I just losing patience?? If anyone has any ideas on how to get the little one to sleep through pls send me your suggestions i need all the help I can get at the moment.....
Thanks heaps!
Mum to Jack he may be having a growth spurt, so is wanting to eat more frequently...BJ has just had one (Im pretty sure) he used to go from 7:30pm til 2-2:30am, then all of a sudden he'd wake at 10 and 1, and 4...or 11:30 and 3, and 7 etc...then last night he was back to 2:15 and 7:30am so we'll see what tonight brings!
[B]Mum to Jack:/B] Wyatt used to do that some nights, I just did the same thing to let him know it was night time and sleep. However now he goes back from 7:30-230 which is not the same but we are working back up to 4:30am.
Sarah My mum made curtains for me and it looks like she used twice the window width. I bought tab tops for the nursery and they are 110cm wide each and it says fits window 180cm wide. Another set I recently had up on a 150cm window were 103cm wide each - so 206cm for 150cm. I'd get the twice length you want in at least 90cm wide material if you are gathering the curtains. Ready mades are usually 213cm drops for full length plus allow for hems - so probably 2.5m length = 5mtrs of material, don't know with window length - but the last lot I had were at least 125cm drops - I'd get at least 3m if you are going for window length.
MOJ Sorry to say I don't think you can make them sleep through, every baby is different.
Sharon Greer had similar rosy cheeks, complaining, slept through night ok and it appears that it is sinus related redness for us - maybe Oliver is getting a cold.
Will try to come back later, but today is my busy day and I want to make biscuits for DS's Birthday party - got templates to make them in superhero shapes.
sarah sorry I don't know anything about curtains, let alone sewing, I couldn't sew to save my life mum to Jack there are still quite a few bubs in the same age group (and older) who don't sleep through, unfortunately those of us that have babies that do are very lucky, I hope things change for you soon though. BabyWrangler Oliver had 1 night where he was extremely grizzly, and woke every hour from about 1am until I finally got up at 5.30am alittlegrubi I suppose Oliver could be getting a cold, the rosie cheeks come and go. Hope you didn't get stressed today hun, the superheros biscuits sound great, I really don't like cooking/baking but that is mainly because I hate having to clean up the huge mess I make afterwards.
Oliver is sooooo close to rolling from his back onto his tummy, also when he is put down on his mat, I can go off to the kitchen, toilet or whatever and when I come back a few minutes later he has turned himself around 180 degrees or more.
Has everyone else been having problems logging in today, well, I could log in, just couldn't go anywhere on the site, it kept crashing, was driving me nuts! I was in an unusually good mood yesterday, don't know why as I had a confrontation with a friend (very long story) and I really thought I would have felt crap afterwards but I didn't, DH even went so far as to ask me if I had doubled up on my happy pills cheeky bugger!
Hi all,
Just popping in to say we are off for a weigh in and vaccs today....gonna be a long and probably crabby day for BJ...but he's been so perfect of late, Im not too concerned!!!
Will try and pop in for personals later!!
Very excited here today ... DH put Liam down in his cot last night *awake* and then left him... 10 mins later he had put himself to sleep! He did it again this morning (at 5 am) and it worked again! I'm trying now and we'll see what happens... He's never done this before. Remember - Liam can't hold his own dummy in so that means he's been getting to sleep without the dummy and just by sucking his own hand! Clever little boy!
Also, it's mummy's group today so I'm really looking forward to that!
Must go & check how he's doing (he's awfully quiet)...
Nettie wooohooo! I hope Liam keeps being a little self settler!
Bj still has his dummy (but once he has it we can leave him to go to sleep by himself) but today while we were in the cattle call waiting to be jabbed, he was actually sucking his thumb, so we'll see where that goes!
He was a little star at vaccs...took the oral one really well, then had jab number one...no response...jab number 2, one grizzly yell that lasted less than 5 seconds and that was it (apparently the second one stings, hence an actual response from him), then he sang his sleepy some on the way home, had 100ml of bottle, and went to bed!
Sharon I hear you on the cleaning up after cooking...I LOVE cooking, but sheesh the mess...thank god for the dishwasher is all I can say!
Sharon My day didn't go as planned. I didn't get to the biscuits today. Good to hear you had a good day maybe dealing with some negative emotion in that confrontation was good for you.
My day:
Spent the morning booking a doctor's appointment, buying cake decorating bits - wasting money as I couldn't work them out when it came to using them. Settling Greer, baking cake - growling at internet for not working, going to doctor's appointment only to be told that Greer is fighting off her cold well and I don't need to do anything, but if she is still congested on Monday not to have her immunised. Bought an Ironman edible cake topper for an icecream cake for the birthday party, made Villain Skittles, wrapped a pass-the-parcel, made stickers for drink like HULK GAMMA JUICE, SPIDEY SODA, CLOBBERING TIME CORDIAL, went to my dental review and now I have to make that 45k appointment - scary. Picked up DS - went to McDs for chippies, came home and started to ice the cake. Like I said couldn't work the piping thingy so if you go to my photos the end result of the home made hulk cake is there - let me know what you think. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...php?photo=8539
Liam - Greer will do that sometimes, but not all the time. Our mothers' group isn't doing much for me ATM, one mum has dropped out because she finds the 2 teen mothers grating, but I am going to keep going with it.
Well I have to go clean up my cooking mess - DH did all the dishes before I did the icing, but now the kitchen looks like a gamma bomb hit it Wanted to post the pic though to see what everyone thought of my cake making skills - I'm pretty fussy so I wasn't happy with it until I took the photo and saw it from another perspective.
Grubi - I think the cake is cute! I especially like the raised eyebrow! Wish I was coming to the party - it sounds great!!
Well Liam was a little trooper again last night - self settling. But he woke up 3 times crying and needed the dummy put in to get back to sleep (and we think his hands were cold because he'd gotten them out of the wrap, so we re-wrapped him). Then he slept through until 6.30 am this morning!!!! He's never done that before either so there's firsts all round this week.
I think I'll take some new pics today because he's looking different to me like he's grown up a lot this last week. I'm wondering now if it was a wonder week for him as he's doing a few new things like growling and a couple of times he's chuckled - but I can't get him to repeat it unfortunately.
BW - well done on the good vacs! I hope Liam's that good when we take him Monday week...
Nothing else to report. I hope everyone else is doing well
BabyWrangler Oliver will have to have his vacs in a couple of weeks, not looking forward it. The only things I really love cooking is a Lamb roast, which I have to say is very tasty, and scones with jam and cream, when I make these, I have to have a lot of willpower to stop myself from being a complete pig, I have been known to eat 4 whole scones (so that's 8 halfs) in one sitting, must admit I felt quite sick afterwards alittlegrubi the cake looks lovely, all the kids are going to think it's great, wish I could have a piece, but I don't think it would travel too well in the mail Nettie Liam is being such a good boy for you, Oliver has really started playing up at bedtime, will chuck a huge tanty all because he is afraid of missing out on something, but I remember Jordan doing the same at a similar age, think I just have to keep on being persistent with him and not let him 'win' ie get him up when he is clearly tired, if he starts screaming I always pick him up until he stops crying but then put him back.
As for me, the strangest thing has happened, my hair is normally as straight as straight can be, even have problems with heated rollers curling my hair, well this morning I got up and had shower and washed hair as usual, towel dried my hair, looked in the mirror, and holy cow! its curly! now i'm not talking really tight curls, very loose curls as I have long hair, but it was curly enough for me to put mouse in and scrunch it so that it stays looking curly all day, all my DH kept doing when he saw me was laugh. personally, I love it, and I wouldn't complain if it went curlier.
Also, I am going on a retreat tomorrow for scrapbooking, would have loved to go for the whole weekend but just couldn't bring myself to leave Oliver so I am going for the day tomorrow and will get home for Oliver's sneaky feed. My BF and I have planned our performance for after dinner (it's an annual tradition) and we are going to do the 'Time Warp' our costumes (which are nearly matching) are:
Enormous bra I think mine is a FF or something like that
a half slip (petticoat)
fish net stockings
Tassles sewn onto the bra
white sox
my old dancing shoes
an absolutely awful looking tie
head band to hold back hair
and earings
It is going to be such a laugh, I can't wait, just better make sure I pack extra 'poise'
I just did the best bad mummy thing - Greer fell asleep in the car on the way back from vegie shopping, so I left her there, windows down, car in garage and just kept going out to check on her and I got a 2 hour daytime sleep out of her then a feed and hopefully we'll go back down as she still has her eyes closed as she feeds now.
That gave me time to mop the floors, fold the clean washing, hang out one load and put a second load on.
Better get a on, still have lots to do for Sunday's party and after BBQ
Grubi,Love the cake. I'm not bothering to make one for DD who turn 10 on 2 Nov. Me just booking Bowling allie, and send kids there. She want an Apple cake. will pick up and get them to ice in pink. You made a good effort...
Sharon19270 I bet you felt different all day. Maybe a little more confident/sexier???
Nettie it's it WONDERFUL when they settle them self off to sleep. Wyatt is great at it. Has been little bugger last 2 mornings, only sleeping for an hour, but I will normally get 2-3 hour stint when he does it him self.
Wyatt not booked in until end of the month for his neddles. Not looking forward to it.
Had bad morning, did big VENT only to lose it. NOT impressed...
Anyway DH is being a PIMA ATM. He just went and brought more machinary which he didn't need but wanted. So me getting quotes for new kitchen. I'm trying to keep it as CHEAP as possible as this house is only going to be a rental once we are done with it in about 3-5 years. But something nice and EASY to clean. SOOD him, I've got the cheque book.
Well I have taped up the kids bedroom, and now all I have to do it paint them. Was going to do DD tonight so both boys can move in full time by monday. And DD wall can get painted next weekend.
I have to help step-MIL and FIL to move their shop. They have found some new tenants to move in. So they are moving their business out to farm, which I think is wrong but not my place to say. Anyway they have got to be out by Sunday, and they have not packed a dam thing. They are the worlds most untidiest people. I just cring when I walk into store, 'cos I don;t know what is rubbish and what is good...
