Eye doctor appts are all fine., thanks for asking Grubi Actually I'll pass on a little trick Baxter's opthalmologist told me about in detecting cataracts in children.

When you take a photo, remove the red eye reduction, if the red eye shows up in both eyes, then there is no probs. But over a few photos and only one eye shows red eye, get it investigated. :)

I'm hoping to buy a digital SLR soon, is Sarah the photographer of this group?? Any recs? I'm looking at a Nikon.

Wow its nice to have my boyo back!
He's been so much more smiley and happy today, and is sleeping much more deeply, and interestingly, may snuffle his dummy out (we too only ever have it for him in his cot...OR if we are out in the car or pram and its sleep time, he has it then, but if he starts vocalising and playing again, I take it away) but will then settle again and stay asleep.
I'm happy with that!

Brady/Shoe thanks for the tip about red eye....my maternal grandmother was blind at the age of 40, and my brother is legally blind without his contact lenses so eye issues are high on our watch list!

Grubi, you gotta do whats right for you, afterall, its all well and good to insist on Greer being in her cot, but if you then lay awake waiting for the next waking, or missing her, its not achieving much for you is it?

BabyWrangler oh, well, at least you tried. Oliver doesn't really have his dummy much, he will have it for his day sleeps, and then when he goes to bed at night, after his sneaky feed he doesn't have it at all, and I very rarely have to get up to give it to him so I am happy with how things are for the moment. Oliver also won't sleep with his arms out, and has to be wrapped nice and tight, he also likes the sheets on his cot tucked in nice a tight as well.
Sarah I hope your horse is doing better today, and that DH didn't blame you for what happened, after all, accidents happen.
Shoegal if we are going to be out all day I will also wrap Oliver in his pram for his sleeps too, otherwise they are usually just short 20 min sleeps. Thanks for the tip regarding the red eye and cataracts, I was severely short sighted from the age of 5 and wore glasses/contacts for many years, lucky for me, my DH thought it would be a good idea for me to get laser surgery on my eyes, I have been glasses free now for 4 years and love it, although very occaisionally I will still reach to take my 'non existent' glasses off when I get in the shower, old habits can be hard to break, although I will NEVER be a 20/20 because of my nystagmas (sp?) it is good enough to pass the RTA eyesight test LOL, we are lucky that the bad eyesight only seems to affect the females on both sides of my family, I have to get checked for glaucoma every year as my grandmother had it and my mother is 'developing' it. Oh, and nice to meet you 'Brady' :D
alittlegrubi I think with the sleeping thing, you need to do what 'works' for you guys, especially when you go back to work and need as much sleep as you can get.

Went to see the community nurse today, there where 4 people in front of me with someone already in with nurse, it was 40 mins before she came out, and then the next person was still in there 40 mins later, I gave up and came home, and will try and go again on either Monday arvo or next Friday.

Horse is doing better, thats. Just needed to very about that.

Wyatt as been unsettled of a night. He is waking up twice a night now, once around 1-2am then again at 4-5am. It's starting to bug me. So will really try and top him up and then put him to bed in his cot tonight. It's now or never if I don't move him over to his cot of a night time. If he still wakes up then DH and I have agreed we need to try some food.

What are people starting there babies on foods???

Grubi: How are you feeling now? And better? Did you get pain relif?

Sarah the pain is improving, it's more bearable and only need 1 nurofen every 7-8 hours now, much better than the 4 hour round about of panadol ans nurofen. I didn't get anything with codine as apparently it causes constipation and didn't want it to affect Greer.

BW/Sharon I know what you're saying about what works for me, but I don't want to end up with a 2nd child who refuses to sleep without Mummy. There is a part of me that wants to go back to sleeping with DH, although atm I am so over him too.

I know I said in a previous post that the best thing is to get over it, the fact that DH's are different and always will be and to focus on over aspects of the relationship to help them blossom and get back what was there before the kids came along, but I am finding it really hard to do ATM. Mainly because when he asks "what time are you going to bed?" or "are you going to bed soon?" even though I would be going to bed soon, I feel like he is forcing me to go to bed when the kids do so that he can go out and have a life. Like last night he said "are you going to bed when this (dvd) finishes? It's just that I was going to Jason's for a few beers." I didn't bite at all, but then in the morning he it comes out that he not only went to Jason's (workmate) but also went out to another friends' place afterwards. Just feeling left out. He says he wants to spend time with me, but everything is without me. Then on the otherhand I doubt I'd want to go where he goes. I really must get over it!

Started getting my maternity clothes cleaned out of the wardrobe and photographed ready to ebay, now just to find the time to do the listings. :rolleyes:. It was so liberating to actually clean out my wardrobe of all those clothes that no longer fit me. Some I passed on to friends, some went to goodwill and others for ebay. The plan is to clean out the bar/games room and make my space for me to start doing crafty project work and force DH to have the kids every now and then for me to have my time.

I'm finally back to pre-pregnancy number 2 weight, 3 kilos more would be nice. So I'm trying to look after myself. Getting my hair done in a few weeks to inspire me.

Have a grizzler and can't work out what is wrong so GTG.

Grubi have you tried putting something under (or over, or beside) Greer that smells like you?
We had a little on at child care a couple of years ago that just would not settle without mum, and one day mum left her jumper behind by accident, I put it in the cot with bubby, and we got a 4 hour sleep...from that day on she had a t-shirt that mum slept with in the cot (mum would bring in a fresh one every few days!), eventually she got over it, but it was great for the transition.
I don't know...might be worth a shot?!

Well, my boyo has proven to us that he is a dummy boy through and through, last night he went to bed at 6pm, had a bottle at 11pm, a dummy return at 2am, and 5am, then up at 7.
Back in bed at 8:30, asleep at 8:35, up at 12, in bed at 1:45, asleep at 1:50, up at 3:30, into bed at 5:55, and asleep at 5:59....
If we ever needed proof...today was it!!

Anyway, KFC for tea tonight, so I'm off!

Well it has been really busy around here lately. Dh and i decided that Russell was just getting to big for his bassinett so 2 weeks ago we transferred him to his cot in his own room. he had been sleeping in it during the day every few days and also some play time so he has transistioned really well. no problems at all excep for his ability to wwiggle out of his sleeping bag past the safety pilllows spin aruund and stick his legs out through the bars without waking me . hes so quiet and content in the mornings till he gets himself stuck or staarts laughing at his mischief. he is sleeping quite well generally 8:30 - 4:30. spits his dummy out after about 20 min asleep. some nights goes to bed earlier and wakes ( barley) for bottle at 8:30pm. he dost sleep much through the day most i get is a 2 hour stint.

Sarah- i wuld have done the same thing , or have tied the horse to the car if she ewas happy to follow. hope he gets better soon. we started Russell on plain farex and slowely introduced other foods once he got the farex down pat only took a few days.

Grubi - we have always held Russell till he was asleep before putting him to bed . he knows that he sleeps in his own space and dosnt freak out waking up in his cot even though it is in the next room. if he wakes when we put him down and wont resettle we pick him up but generally he just drifts back off. on the note of the dummy, Russell spits, throws, turfs his and most ngihts will drift off without it. i reckon when greer is ready she'll ssstart doing the same thing. have you tried placing a hand on her or somehing to soothe her through the night when shes not really awake.

BW- part of me wants you day sleeps so can get **** done. loll

Grubi - congrats on weight-loss!! I am trying hard but not really getting anywhere. I only have about 2kgs to get back to pre-preg weight but then so many more to get to goal weight. The thing is, I know if I don't do it now, it will never happen - I have perfect situation with being home all day to cook/eat healthy and go to gym - just have to make it happen!!

Zennie - yay for such good sleeping!! I find it funny when I hear about babies wiggling around in cot. Charlotte stays absolutely still all night - in the mornings I find her exactly where I left her!

My wrapping dilemma!!!
Charlotte will only sleep soundly if she is wrapped up nice and tight. The last month or so I have been using a cot sheet to wrap her (cause she is too big for the other wraps and always seems to get herself undone in those). I had started to wonder how things were going to go in summer - but thought that if we were still wrapping her, she could probably go to bed in just a singlet and nappy and still get wrapped and have no blankets.

Well, Miss C is definitely teething at the moment and yesterday in Brisbane it was quite warm (mid to high 20s at a guess) and she woke from her lunchtime sleep with a fever of 38.6. So I unwrapped and undressed her and 10 mins later it was 38.8!! I gave her some panadol and she had a lukewarm bath and it came down no worries. Then last night (about 2am), it was back up to 38.3 so I undressed her and gave her some more panadol but in order to get her back to sleep, I had to wrap her. It was nearly impossible for me to get back to sleep knowing that she had a fever and was still wrapped up and possibly just getting hotter. Needless to say, the panadol did the trick and 30 minutes later it was down to 37.2, so I went back to sleep. But I just don't think I am going to be able to keep wrapping her when we have summer & teething to deal with (we don't have air-con in her room).

Any suggestions for ending the wrapping addiction??

Odd....I posted a reply before then when I logged back in, it was gone!

Oh well, all I said was Tarnee how does she respond to you just wrapping her arms (as in fold the wrap up so its a strip about 20cm wide, and wrap only her arms and torso).
Also you can buy extra large muslin wraps off ebay quite cheaply, and you can buy muslin by the metre at spotlight, maybe you can make some BIG wraps for her that way which will be cooler than a sheet.

Benjamin is currently down for his first sleep with an arm out...so far so good!

Tarnee: I can't really help, as all my children have been wrapped up TIGHT until they were nearly 12 months old.
*In summer time I used a muslin wrap. However I went to spotlight and brought the material and made it nice and big, then just put him in a singlet and a grow suit that buttons up at the crock. And a thermal blanket. I remember waking up one night and Landon had wiggled out, and was near stone cold. Ever since then I did wondersuits, with no singlet.

Zennie: Good to hear your transistion went really wel. have only just started Wyatt last night. He as sleeping in his cots for day naps, for last 1 and 1/2. So is quite used to it.

Grubi: You must be feeling unloved/single parent at the moment. I know I am feeling that way. My DH is just working a lot more so then when he was at the farm full time. But I guess I can go and see him when he at farm.
DH used to go and see mate with DS1 and it didn't faze me, until that started talking about stuff that happened when I was around. Or when DH didn't come home when he told me. So I would set alarm for 20 after time, then sit up and wait for him, if he wasn't home.

BW: Ge, you keep a good eye on BJ's sleep patten. It good to see. I don't have the time, and my life/children/DH are just to busy. I wish I could take more notice and sum days I do but I am only really concerned with at the early mornings, and bed time at night time. If he naps during those times, good.

So quick update
Went to motro cross kids were riding, yay. Was four season in one day yesterday. Wyatt was in his ergo all day, and ge I felt pregnant by the end of the day.
Put Wyatt in his COT last night for the FIRST time. And slept until 5am, however I got up 3 times just to make sure he was ok. He didn't like going in there away for bed time. He normally get a cuddle/boobie until he passed out then into bed. But day naps are in cot awake and he falls alseep. Anyway I was happy with it.

Well not much else to report. Got to fold so much washing up have been putting it off and off all week, and not it has come back to bit me. It's been raining all week, and it seem that when it does rain I have so much washin to do... Anyone else feel like that???
Well I better get too it, oter wise DH will ask what have I been doing all day....

For those of you with grizzly babies at the moment - I have a sneaking suspicion that DS is going through a bit of a wonder week. He's been 'off' all week and is now doing new things - like moving around in his cot. Seriously, we used to put him down and he would stay there. Now he rolls over, turns around, gets feet/arms caught in the bars - whatever! I went in there at 3am and he was on his tummy playing! He's also not doing the day nap thing very well at the moment - only has brief naps most of the time.

I start back at work tomorrow - full time. :( And poor DH has gotten a coldy/coughy thing that's making him feel like crap. I did all the night wakings last night (we normally share them) so he could get a good sleep to aid in his recovery and so now I'm feeling buggered today! Ah well, will be heading to bed early tonight anyway!

I had a cleaning frenzy this week too - sorted out the piles of stuff that needed going through and changed the sheets on both our bed & the cot.

Nettie I feel for you going back to work!
I miss Benjamin when I've gone to the shops for half an hour and left him with DH....I am sooo soo sooo lucky, and so grateful everyday that I am not returning to work!

Hi ladies. Things have been a bit hectic here. Luke has had a chest infection and now appears to be teething (so you can imagine how much fun we are having) I am still sick - nothing like BF'ing and working FT to really run you down and to top it off Luke is refusing the breast. I have come to the decision to wean him and it is going slowly (i think mostly because I have so much milk) but hopefully will be all sorted within 3 - 4 weeks.

I do drop in from time to time, but my available time is so short it is difficult to respond each time. Glad to here that everyone is well.

Tarnee - best thing to do with the gym/eating healthy side is to make it a must do - just like having a shower or brushing your teeth, don't give yourself the option of missing it. Yeah - easier said than done I know - but you need the discipline to make it work.

Thanks all for your suggestions on settling with Greer, I know that I have to be more disciplined with settling her. I'm trying to just go with taking that bit longer initially, for she will sleep in her cot if she is asleep when put in there, so I just have to put her back and try pats, sucks whatever it takes to get her back to sleep in the cot.

I've come to the realisation that the reason I am p!ssed at DH going out is because he has an outlet to vent his stresses and I really don't. Now to try to fix it, that means getting over my barriers and doing things like asking MIL to have the kids so I can have a break. DH would have them, but it's not like I want to go out without him. Guess he goes without me as he isn't as restricted - I mean I can look after the kids and do.

Shell - might be worth freezing some of that excess milk as you work on the weaning. I went to only feeding at night with DS after 2 months back at work. Could he be refusing because he is sick or teething, I know Greer has been funny like that lately with illness and teething. I feel for you with the working fulltime and parenting fulltime so soon, having done it at 4 months last time I know what you mean about it taking it out of you. Make sure you keep up your vitamins, zinc, magnesium, Vitamin B6 and fishoil to help you.

Nettie - best of luck with the return to work tomorrow. This is going to sound crazy, but if it weren't for my dental appointment and Greer's Baptism in October, I think I'm ready to return to work tomorrow. Not fulltime, but return all the same.

Might just look into doing that when I go in to visit tomorrow, I might look at going back to work one or two days a week in November.

Well...my little freak o nature has a new trick, he still hasn't gone back to rolling off of his tummy (had 5 rolls tummy to back in total) and is yet to roll from back to tummy, but everytime we lay him down on the floor on his back he manages to rotate himself 360 degrees!
He even did it (under very close supervision of course) in the bath last night.
He brings his legs up (stomach crunch style), then rolls onto his side, puts his feet back down and pushes a little, and he's rotated a bit....and he just keeps doing it over and over!
Quite amusing really!

I have been reading all your posts but no time to post myself!!!!

Is it just me or do you all feel like our babies arn't little babies anymore?! Ryder seems to be "all of a sudden" growing up really quickly..... he's soooooo cheeky!!!

His latest tricks are:

* Putting his legs up straight in the air & holding his feet with his hands
* Splashing sooo much water all over the floor when having a bath - have to get the mop out to clean all the water up
* He somehow manages to fit his whole hand in his mouth, but then gags cause he puts in it too far!
* He has a whole conversation with his mobile friends that sit above his car seat... it's hillarious!
* I've taught him to give Mummy kisses..... I give him kisses on his cheeks & on his lips (which he now puckers up for!) and he sucks my face to give me kisses back....eewww... lots of spit!
* Oh.... Ryder has discovered his willy!!!! Yes, the other day on his change table he grabbed his privates - he really is a boy isn't he!

I started Ryder on Farex about 3 weeks ago, just once a day. He's now having it twice a day, at about 10am and again at 3pm. He LOVES it. If I don't have the next spoonful ready to shovel into his mouth by the time he's swallowed his last mouthful.... look out Mummy! I've also dropped breast feeding through the day and only breast feed him at 6pm, 3am and 7am. He has formula at 10/11am, 2/3pm, 10pm feeds. I made up my 1st batch of vegies & froze them yesterday - just pumpkin, potato & sweet potato at this stage & not mixed... will try one vegie at a time before mixing them. I'm thinking in the next week or so I'll give him a taste!

Things that Ryder is still NOT doing:

* STILL NOT sleeping through the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is STILL waking several times a night (for whatever reason). He is sleeping in his cot now & has been for about 3wks. He sleeps on his side inbetween support bars, unwrapped (I only wrapped him for the 1st few weeks as he never liked it) and he has a dummy (but only to fall asleep). I only feed him when he wakes at 3am, but I've just about had it with that too as I don't feel he needs it..... I swear it's out of habit that he wakes for that feed. A friend of mine keeps saying he should be sleeping through & to let him cry or offer him boiled water only and that it might take 3 nights to break his habits, but it will be worth it. I agree that it would be wonderful to have a FULL nights sleep, but I just don't have the balls to do it or deal with it when I'm so tired at night. Do any of you still feed your babies through the night & how many times would they wake between 7pm & 7am?

* STILL NOT rolling over.... he will kind of turn to one side while laying of the floor, but that's it. Do you think Ryder should definately be rolling yet?

My girlfriend who keeps telling me Ryder should be sleeping through the night by now, has an 11 month old baby boy as well. They were over this afternoon & OMG.... I am DREADING when Ryder can crawl & stand & touch everything in his reach! There is no stopping her little boy now and if we think our babies are time consuming now, boy we are in for a shock in a few months time! I was cringing the whole time they were over.... just waiting for my tv cabinet to be dented by the hard plastic ball he was bashing on it, tv cords to be snapped, timber blinds to be broken, carpet to be stained by his food (strawberries of all things!). Don't know how I will cope!!!! :cryinglaugh:

sarah glad to hear your horse is doing better, as for solids, we have been on and off with them with Oliver, but lately he has been taking them a bit better, still tries to suck instead of open his mouth wide but we are getting there, he hates the farex, but he loves sweet potato.
alittlegrubi that is the whole reason why I NEVER co-slept with any of my kids, not even for a night because I knew I would hate having to try to get them to sleep in their own bed and on their own.
Zennie sounds like russell likes his cot, I can't believe you have only just moved him, we moved Oliver into his cot at 9 weeks (?)
Tarnee Jordan was a summer baby and he was wrapped for every sleep, wouldn't sleep otherwise and he just had one of those muslin wraps (larger size) and then would just tuck him in tightly with a sheet during the summer and we never had any problems with him overheating.
Nettie how was your first day back at work? Hope DH recovered from his illness nice and quick.
shellbell try not to spread yourself too thin, you do need to have some 'you' time, even if it's for an hour on the computer. Hope you get well soon and that Luke gets over his chest infection.
BabyWrangler what a clever boy BJ is, Oliver has been doing the 360 thing for about a 6 weeks now, it's quite funny, and both yesterday and the day before he rolled from back to tummy, twice, I missed seeing him do it, but it was funny, he was on his mat on his back one second, I turned away, looked back, and he was on his tummy, took a good 5 seconds for me to realise that that wasn't the position I put him in LOL

Had a good trip up the coast on Sunday, and believe it or not, Oliver was a perfect angel in the car, he played with his 'new' linky doos (they have animal shapes on them) and would just play with them till he fell asleep, he woke briefly (about 2 mins) then went straight back to sleep on the way up, on the way home, he fell asleep pretty much straight away and woke after an hour, then played and talked for the rest of the way home.

Wow... 17 pages. Wonder when they'll start us on a new thread!

DH is still sick. He's on sudafed & cough syrup now but they just make him feel drugged and foggy. He's doing great looking after Liam though! I come home every day for lunch & today that gave him the chance to go to the post office to do some posting for his business. It looks like Liam's getting it now too. He's got the cough (which sounds heartbreaking through the night - but he goes straight back to sleep - mostly!) and this morning, DH put him down for a sleep around 9 and he was still asleep when I got home from lunch around 12.15!! We woke him up because he started dreaming and seemed upset. Once he woke up - he smiled & was very happy though!

Jodie - don't worry, Liam's not sleeping through the night either. He did a few times, and for a while was only waking up once, but now it's anywhere between twice & 5 times! Not for feeds, just re-settling. We feed him once during the night - sometimes twice.

We've started him on rice cereal. Because of the cleft, we're doing it very runny (barely noticable in the formula) and using the bottle. DH started him yesterday and I didn't find out until the evening, but he was adding it to every bottle! It was the first time Liam's only had 4 bottles all day though! And he only woke up twice last night - DH fed him around 3.30 am, but he only ate 40 mls... hardly worth it!

We've only given him 3 bottles with added rice cereal. We add one tablespoon to 150 mls of formula so hopefully this will start him off nice & slow.

Anyway - must go off to bed in case I have to do all the night wakings (DH is still feeling crappy).

2. Got the best present yesterday - it's a baby bean bag with carry straps. Allows me to move Greer arouns without unsettling her.

Well...I'd better go get something else done, so far today I have stacked the dishwasher and turned it on, cleaned the bathroom, hung out the load of washing tidied the lounge a little, made the bed (dh NEVER does it when he gets up!), and put Benjamin to bed, then snuggled him an hour later, and put him back to bed....
Feeling very productive....I'm off out soon to change over a grobag we bought for a friend of ours, they were told they were having a girl, and she had a baby boy this morning....and whilst she's excited...she's totally gobsmacked and in a flap cause the cot etc are all made up in pretty pink stuff!

I have a spare key to their house cause I'm feeding the dog, so I'm going to swap the grobag over for some boy bedding and re-make the cot as a surprise!!

Buggeration...Benjamin has an ear infection

He woke at 9:30 hysterical and I couldnt work out why, but snuggled til dopey then went back to sleep.

When he got up though, his right ear with all crusty...not earwax crusty, discharge crusty....straight in the car and off to the Dr and as I suspected, an ear infection!
Such a trooper though, other than this morning...wouldn't have known!

BabyWrangler Thanks, that pic was taken a while ago (about 4 weeks) and he seems to have changed so much since then. My brother and SIL where told their second child was a boy, she was a girl, I don't think I could go out and buy all boy/girl stuff just from a ultrasound, that's will be a lovely surprise if you re-do the bedding for her as she is probably stressing about it. Hope BJ gets over his ear infection nice and quick, they are awfully painful. I love that pic of BJ in your ticker too, it is absolutely gorgeous.

Sorry for be MIA the last few days. More drama with sick horse.

Wyatt has been little S**t of late last night he woke up 4 times, I could have killed him when he woke at 5:45am this morning and wouldn't go back to bed. So am very crabby at the moment. I was going to start him on some sweet potatoe last night but DH didn't come home until 8pm and Wyatt was bath, in PJ and ready for bed when he walked in.

DH is a whole other story at the moment. I know it is a catch 22, he wants to get his family ahead in life yet he is missing out on everything at the moment. I even told he the other week, one day you are going to come home and we will be gone, he if was going to keep this stupid work hours up. He slowed down all on 2 days then back to then late nights home.

Sharon: That is a very cute photo. You did a good job. I know what you mean about babies change so fast in such little time. That great that Oliver slept most of the time in the car. When we were hearding back to sydeny when i was up there the pair of my boys sleep from Norwa, to Sutherland/Gyme. I thought that was great. Now we back in Tassie, we don't drive for over 3 hour and we are at out destations.
How are you parents settleing in down here now? Do they like Westbury??

Grubi: Can you post a photo of her in it on here. Am trying to picture it, but I doubt I am having alot of luck.

BW: That is no good BJ having an ear infection. This may sound like a dum question, but how do you know what signs to look out for when they have one. I am just thinking Wyatt might have one or something else wrong with him. Yesterday was a busy day people here all day so not a normal day.

Well I better go, so for not more personal, I have sister kids 4 and I have a GF coming over with her 2 and my 3 I will have 9 children here today. Busy day, we are going to hunting for worms to build worm farm.

Typical signs are:
Pulling on ear
Crying when head moves suddenly
Crying when laying down, but ok if upright (thats a fluid thing)
Temp
Discharge from ear (other than earwax....when you see it, you'll know!!)

With Benjamin, we only say the discharge...mainly because his bed is still elevated cause of the refluxy chucking, so he wasn't laying flat
After the Dr, he had a temp, and now floor time isn't the happiest of occasions.

The most noticable is the crying when laying down, thats the one we always noticed at childcare, then you check the temp and its slightly up, and the rest followed!!

My poor boyo is getting more and more miserable by the hour, but hopefully another couple of doses of the anti's and all will be well!

sarah hope your horse is ok. sometimes it is a difficult decision for our DH's to make in regards to career/money or spending more time with family you just have to get him to set a few days a week where he comes home at a reasonable hour to spend time with you and the kids.

Not much happening here, had Oliver checked at community nurse today, he weighs 7.1kg, is 65cm long, and a HC of 42.5, she was very happy with how he is going.

BBL Ollie just woken up.

Jodie - I forgot to mention that Liam's discovered his boy-bits too! Every time we get the nappy off he's grabbing at them! He's even had scratch marks!

General update: We're all doing better. DH is mostly over his 'flu and Liam's got a cough and has had a few days where he's been a bit warm, but nothing major. I've gotten through my first week of work unscathed and I even managed to sleep through the night last night! DH fed Liam at 11pm and he didn't wake up until about 6.45 am. By then I was hanging out a load of nappies!

We're starting to get into a routine in the mornings too. I shower at night so all I have to do to get ready for work is have some breakfast, pack a lunchbox & my water, brush my teeth & get dressed. Usually I let DH sleep in until 8 am and hand Liam over then. That gives me time to do those things (sometimes I've already packed my lunchbox & had breakfast by that time) and get to work by 8.30 am. Glad I'm not a hair & make-up person!! We've also started a routine for leaving - when either DH or I leave the house to go somewhere (like work), we do a special wave (fingers to palm, then open again) and blow kisses saying 'bye-bye'. Hopefully this will get him prepared for our absence.

Liam's been having rice cereal in his formula all week now. The packet says to add 4 tablespoons to 120 - 160 mls of fluid (formula/water/ebm) but it was too thick to put through the bottle (which is how we wanted to start him because of the cleft palate) so we're only putting 1 tablespoon in a 150ml bottle of formula - up to 4 times a day. However, we've discovered that he's not eating as much now (one day he only had 4 bottles all day and didn't finish any of those!) but he's sleeping better at night. Over the weekend I intend to make the rice cereal up properly and feed it to him on a spoon to see how he goes. :crossfingers:

Sharon - I've been meaning to get Liam to the CYH Nurse, but now I'm back at work I can't see when I'll get the time! Sounds like Ollie's doing great though!

Sarah - Sounds like you're not having the best time at the moment :hug: Hope DH sees sense soon & things look up. We're a single income family (mine) and realise we'll have to go without some things to make ends meet - but we think it's worth it to have DH home looking after Liam and knowing that we'll both get quality time with him (I'm only 5 minutes from work & it's a great place to work).

Isabell has started on Farex, and we have added pumpkin to it recently, and she just loves loves looooves it!! Cant get it down quick enough lol...

Nettie its great that Liam is doing so well with the farex, and great that you have routines going on...they sure do help!

B_P Bj is the same with vegies! We were going to start with some zucchini this week, but with him being sick, we have put that on hold (don't wanna screw round with him when he's not well!).

As for BJ, he is being a trooper as usual, his temp didnt drop below 38 all night, but he had a dose of panadol at 9:15, and then actually slept through til 7:15!
When he got up he was still 38.2, but didnt cry as much when I took his temp (we take it in both ears because one ear is always hotter than the other).
I was a bit concerned about him not drinking much as up until 3pm, he'd had just 200ml, but then he had 150ml at 3:30pm, then another full bottle at bedtime (200ml), and another 80 at 9pm so I was feeling much more relaxed.

He started the day with some panadol for his temp, and 90ml of milk!
He's been playing on the floor for 45 minutes, is talking happily, and is even turning over onto his sore ear!

Im glad he seems to be improving, we are going out this afternoon for our wedding anniversary, it was on wednesday but DH has something planned!
My boss is coming to look after Benjamin.

Anyway, better go do something!!

:cryinglaugh: at Nettie's comment about the huge poos and my MIA. It was big, but not so big as to be the reason for my disappearance. I've been nesting - better late than never :lol: I have cleaned out all the wardrobes of the unworn clothes, spring cleaned all the wet areas and have commenced the big task of moving the DVD library to the toy area and the toys to the games/computer room so the mess is contained in one space.

Oh and I have been listing my maternity wear on ebay.

On top of that I've been doing things for the baptism - like making my own bottle label to put on wine for the god parents - that commemorates them as Godparents with Greer's picture on it - they are getting a little tag that says it this bottle is filled with my wishes for you - use it wisely as it might just come true.

We have been suffering with a cold and earache here so it has been a juggle of time to look after a sick bubs and do my clean - ergo little time online for posting, have been nosy and read a couple of times since the poo. :lol:

Sarah Picture should be loaded now (will do after posting) of Greer's bean bag - I wish I had had it when she first came home - I'm getting my Mum to make a pattern and looking at making them as gifts for future births of friends and family. I can put her down out of my arms and she sleeps so easily now and is happy to lay there and play a lot of the time whilst I've been cleaning. I love it.

Will be heading off to my parents this arvo so the mess and personals will have to wait.

Tonight Isabell woke up suddenly crying, and i was unable to settle her no matter what. In the end after some panadol i sat her on my lap, and put my finger in her mouth and rubbed her gums. She stopped crying instantly and after a while even cheered up. Im guessing maybe she is teething and it may have upset her a bit tonight. I got her to sleep after a short play on her play mat.

Im feeling good about myself atm :) Im feeling happy (will be happier when Ben is home from work for the week) and im feeling confident about myself too. Next week im going clothes shopping, ready for summer, and i feel good about my body, i feel that my body is even ready for summer. Im lucky, im back to pre preg weight, i pretty much was about a week after birth. Im getting my hair done too, and i cant wait. All in all i feel wonderful!!!

Hi Guys.
Had a great arvo...we went to see Wall-E gold class, it was great!
We were going out for dinner too, but we ate too much popcorn and ended up going home.
Unfortunately, Benjamin is a little bit too cute, and has my boss wrapped round his little finger, so instead of being in bed and asleep by 6:15, when we got home at 7:15 he was still up and playing, hadn't had much milk, and hadnt really eaten his dinner, it took til 8pm to settle him off to sleep, then he woke at 4am and just could not re-settle, was whingey and so on, panadol at 5am settled him for 45 minutes, but we were in the lounge playing at 6am.
He had a bit of bottle and some brekky, then settled again from 8:15 til 9am, but woke very upset then too, he woke laying on his sore ear though so that didnt help.
Have managed to settle him again, and hopefully he'll go through til maybe 11 which will get him back on track with his routine, and tonight he'll be down by 6pm.

I know his ear is still sore cause if you touch it, he cries :(

Well got to run, just doing the quick catch up reading, got to change horse's bandage, then go and rest Grannies Camera she is off again to Queensland. Then a GF Creative Memories party.

DD goes back to school 2 morro and life and resume as normal. No more school holidays for a while.
