Well her rash is all but gone-she still has a little bit left on her girly bits. She is slowly perking up but isnt still quite right. I've kinda pinpointed who she got it off, given the time frame incubation period and who she has been in contact with puts it back to a friend of mine who popped over with her son about a week and a half ago. He is 6 and could just be a carrier.
Jen - thanks for the flannel suggestion it worked a treat with her and the bath seemed to calm her down a bit too.
Kel- Thanks I tried her with the water in her sippy cup with an ice cube in it lol she was more intent on shaking it to make a noise than drinking the water.
Kaz- I thought about it and best way I could come up with is to wash in a mild detergent, rinse really well then pop it in a pot of boiling water for a few mins.
Since the sippy cup was a no go I decided to try her with a crushed ice cube wrapped in the flannel. It kept her occupied for quite a while and I think she got most of the cube as it melted coz she wasnt relly wet/damp afterwards.
-
Hey Guys,
Glad Phoebe is better Tiffany, I am so happy the bath and flannel made her feel better! I must admit Kaz I am not that fussy with washing them! Hope thats not too bad but I just think he is sucking everything now he is commando crawling so I think steralizing in my house (dogs and dust!) maybe getting a little redundant!
Hey Kel that routine sounds great!
Beau has been pretty good the past day - last night he went down at seven and I gave him a 'dream feed' (first time) at 10 -then he woke at 2! 6 total hours of sleep uninterrupted! Then DH yelled at the noisy neighbours at 4 and woke bubs so i was up and down with him til 6:30am...
Ok better run - DH is in a handy man mood and I am capatilizing on it!
-
Hi!
Well...Dylans still sleeping like a horror!! Dh gave me a sleep in today thought which was nice - and brekky in bed!! So I feel a bit better but it's still all so broken!
Jen - He's a big boy!!! Yeah, I would be increasing his food slowly...Dylan has about 200-250g food each meal now! LOL!! I've been really slack and haven't given him any meat or chicken yet so thats next on my list!!
Hope both our bubs are sleeping better soon -hehe!
Ooh just read your last post - Yeah!! Hopefully he keeps it up for you...I was thinking about trying Dylan with a dream feed before I go to bed as he usually sleeps quite well after his sleep in the morning....
Kaz - Did you get the thunderstorms last night! One clap of thunder woke me up and I jumped! hehe. So funny that the kids slept through that though...
I'm the same - the kids have no clean clothes at the moment...now with the rain I probably won't get anything dry either...oh well...
Kel - Funny you say that...I keep blaming the dummy and quite a few of the times Dylan wakes up now he's still go it in his mouth!! He's just crying anyway!!! GRRRR!!!
Well, we'll see - if they start sleeping better around 9months it will be that they love their mums too much - thats apparently when they learn the whole seperation thing and even though mums not there she's going to come back etc etc...
Sounds like you have a great routine worked out for you guys. Actually I think that may be a bit of our problem as well...we don't really have any great routine at all....must work on that!! Although in saying that our night time routine is good so no excuses for him to not sleep well at night! LOL.
Oh yeah..I got this great new multigrain cereal thing for bubbas...it's really good...I'm going to finish of that and the rice cereal I've got and then start introducing weetbix I think. He has so much that we go through those little boxes to quickly - LOL!
Tiffanny - Glad that she seems on the mend, poor little thing...
Chat later!
-
Kris - no thunder heard here - I love listening to the rain though.
Put Pip to bed around 9:30 but he was down a feed so I stayed up until 1am but he didn't wake. Woke though at 3:30 and was satisfied with dummy until 4am then OK with teething gel until 4:30 when I finally went downstairs and got him a bottle. I didn't get back to sleep until 7am though :(
Yesterday we did 2 feeds for the first time - rice cereal and stewed apple for brekky & carrots for tea. Today I had a mango for lunch, I gave him a little of the juice on my finger and he seemed to love it! But tomorrow night we'll try pumpkin.
Have been looking into the modern cloth nappies (MCN) a bit lately, DF and I are going to get a starter kit of 2 nappies and a pair of swimmers hopefully very soon. Is anyone here using cloth? If so, what types?
Kel - great on your routine! I can do a routine from Mon - Fri but DF puts it all out of whack on his days off.
Jen- I looked over from the puter to Pip's cot, and he was patting one dog's chin and getting licked on the nose in return. But we try :D
Ohhh, found this cleaning tip if anyone's interested - to clean soft toys, brush bi-carb of soda into the toy and then let sit, then brush out again ...
-
Hey,
Beaus second bottom tooth has popped up - I cant help laughing when he cries now because his first tooth is so visible and it looks so cute!
Pretty unsettled last night but so he is sleepy today...I have started cleaning out my wardrobe..eeks!
Beau is very vocal now and we can have littke "oh" "agh" conversations which are quite funny for the neighbours I am sure...
Ok gotta get on and make tea B is waking up from his second 2hr nap! Unheard of!
-
How cute Jen! Pip's second tooth also decided to stay out since about Saturday!
Today has just been visiting rellies etc. They love his tooth too :D
-
Hello all,
Well we have been good these past few days. Lily has been an angel. Lastnight she went to sleep by herself in her cot at 6.30pm and was asleep for the night until her bottle at 11.30, then slept until 5am, up for another bottle then asleep again until 6.30!! Woohoo....I was sure I'd be up at some ungodly hour with her because she went to bed soo early, but we were up at normal time. She must have needed that extra hour. She also went to sleep in her cot for one of her day sleeps, which was an hour and a half long. She must be going through a growth spurt or something. SHe hasn't fallen asleep in her cot on her own for months now, I'm hoping this is the start of her going to bed on her own.....wishful thinking!
Tiffany, I'm glad Pheobe is getting ebtter now, poor little munchkin!
Jen I'm glad to hear Beau has been better for you with his sleeps. Grr at the noisy neighbours, you should have told them to look after Beau since they woke him...LOL!! Jen I have had the same thought process as you, Lily is licking/eating everything she can get her little mouth on so I'm not too worried about starilising dummies, etc anymore...build up her immune system! I hope you got lots of stuff done with your hubby's handy man moment. Yay on his next tooth!! We have little conversations now too, but Lil's favourite sound is 'g'. As in 'go'. She will repeat it over and over and it is driving me a little batty, thought at times, I really have to laugh at her!!
Kris, you lucky woman, a sleep in and brekky in bed!! As for the weetbix, I give Lily oatbrits (similar to weetbix/vitabrits) mixed with apples for breakky and she loves it. She hated the rice cerial as soon as she ate it so I still have a whole box in the cupboard that she won't eat! Even mixed with apples...I hope Dylan's settled down for you, you're not having much luck with his sleeping are you? Hopefully he works it out soon.
Kaz, I hear you on DH putting your routine off. My DH does it too, even if we're home for the day, everything still ends up out of whack! The only thing I make sure happens everyday is that she goes to bed at about 7-8ish. As long as she goes down at that time, she's right the next day. If not were out for a while before she gets herself sorted out again, IYKWIM. And yay for Pip's second tooth too!! Lily's are getting so big now, I can see them both all the time now, so cute!!
Ok gonna go and be domestic....
-
Well today has been a write-off. Last night Pip was sitting up in between my feet / legs and I blinked and didn't catch him when he face-planted into the ground. About a half hour later he stopped crying and after checking his pupils and stuff, we fed him to sleep. But his eye was all puffy and swollen. Thank goodness there's no black eye today!
He's also had a mild constipation and woke with tummy pains around 2:30am and I finally got him back to sleep around 4am. *sighs*
Today he's just been whining non-stop, I think his teeth are also hurting, but at least we've had poo. Complete with carrot! Poor little thing ...
Managed to get a bit of housework done by putting Pip on my back in his "carryboi" which is possibly the most stupid carrier out there for the back travel - there's like a thingy that crosses over but is stitched like a yoke, it really "lifts and seperates'! Plus I couldn't put Pip on by myself, I had to get DF to put him on for me.
Tomorrow we get our first MCN's from Kimbaz! So excited! Been trying to explain them to DF who wants a silly cost-benefit analysis almost *rolls eyes*
But Pip appears to have settled quietly, he's playing in his cot which means I may, just may, be able to finish the vacuuming ...
Have a good day all!
-
:D LOL, Kaz, I can just imagine you vacuuming with Pip on your back and your bb's 'lifted and separated.....:cryinglaugh:...sorry but the image I have in my head is priceless! hehehe
-
hey everyone,
havent been in for a bit, we were supposed to go away but didnt, long story. Olivia has been a grumpy bum, with a mild temp of 37.8. Settles with panadol and bojela. Alls good otherwise, will do personal another day, hope you are all well.
Love Melissa
-
Yeah Kel, I have made it my personal mission to get Beau to settle in his cot now himself - I havent "rocked and patted" for about a week now and it feels really good...also he is just to bloody heavy too! I feed him - then wrap and burp, give him a quick pat and face stroke etc in his cot then walk out - if he wont take his dummy I just wait till he grizzles and leave him go back etc until he sleeps on his own - his day sleeps have been better too - sometimes 2hours!!
I am still wrapping him but just once in a giant muslin one and he can move about a bit more....
Ok I have him plonked in his cot waiting for DH to come home - better grab him out before he shouts the house down!
-
Good to see its working for you Jen! Well done!
Kel - I aim to please :D Needless to say, DF enjoyed the view too :D
Mel - hope is all OK with mini-Moo? Is it just teething? Hugs for the cutie-pie! (and Pip is wailing now too!)
Today, we put Pip on the lawn, then later took him to the park where we had a BBQ for Trev & I - he's eaten grass on our lawn now, and also at the VicParks Birdland Reserve :D I very cute with the eating grass though!
-
Cant decide whether last night was ok or a shocker....DH is away and its all a blurr these days!
Had to give B baby panadol at bedtime last night as he would not settle for his little tooth...he was awake then at 11, 12:30, 3:30, 5:15 and with me till 6 kicking me in the belly (still! - except this time last year it was inside he he)
Its just par fot the teething course...
lol Kaz at the grass eating! I am forever finding dust bunnies just in bubs reach...we have a shag rug and its a nightmare! I have to get out there and fertilize our "lawn" cause there is just dirt patches at the moment - and the stinky neighbours cut all the gorgeous bouganveilla down on the weekend so now it looks even worse!
Sorry for rubbing it in but I cant wait till my spa weekend on the gold coast! Need to dig out suitable yoga/zen type clothing so i look like I fit in!
-
Ack Jen, that's no good. There's a teething gel (sm-33) with a mild anaesthetic in it - similar to the anaesthetic throat lozenges - that is quite effective I've found? Hopefully you can get a good night's sleep soon. Pref before your spa weekend!
Pip is currently blowing raspberries and whomping in his cot - he's got a few marks (bruises?) on his spine and I'm wondering if that's from the whomping?
Anyhows, have a good day, its a glorious one down here :D
-
Ah I would love a spa weekend. The moo was a bit of a terd yesterday, I think shes teething, but cant see or feel anything in there. She also cracks it when I leave her sight. At least shes still sleeping well overnight, otherwise I think I would loose the plot. If its teeth bring them on.
Ok that was enough time now the moo is cracking it......
Have a great day
-
Mel everybody in here has kind of said the same thing - devil child then about a week or so later up pops a tooth....heres hoping! God how many of these do we have to go????
-
Kaz I will try and get my hands on the gel - I think B is addicted to Bonjela! But he is finally lovin the bath - see pic in gallery.
Sorry for the double postage! Darn puter!
-
Wow this could be a long post, feels as though I haven't been on here for ever. I've been sooo busy.
Hope everyone who was unwell is feeling better & those darn teeth cut throug soon :D Charlie is teething again, but still sleeping alright at night. Just extra clingy, not eating etc.
I hope bubs that haven't been sleeping great settle soon too. We've been lucky here, Charlie only wakes once or not at all. So I'm not fussed giving him a small top up during the night. I don't give him too big a drink or he won't eat properly the next day.
Today I had Charlie, & his 11month & 2.5yr old cousins for 5hrs.....needless to say I don't want anymore kids!!!! Ok I'll get over it but far out that's tough work.
Have been mega busy here, going to the gym any chance I can get. Want to look in shape when I see my family & friends at Chrissy time, also going to Aqua Aerobics (turns out that's not as easy as it sounds). Ah Charlie had his first day at Daycare yesterday, he looked so sad when I went to pick him up - I almost had a cry.
Getting a big excited about Chrissy here, just trying to find the perfect Santa Sack for Charlie. MIL is giving us a bit of trouble over Christmas :wall: but I'm not going to let her ruin it!!!
Ok, Hi to everyone. I've been reading all the post, just can't keep up at the moment LOL. Hope you are all well. Great to hear some of you got to catch up, wish I could!! Let's hope all our bubba's finish teething soon. Charlie is a handful ATM always crying when left on the floor, frustrated wanting to crawl. Seems I spend all day sitting with him, Oh well.
I'll try & keep up from now on.
-
Hello everyone,
Hope you are all doing fine. Olivia is ok atm, but yesterday she did my head in. I dont think it helps that I am coming down with something and my patience is wearing very thin. feel like I have been hit by a bus this morning. Probably just a head cold or something. Still no teeth here, the gums are lumpy down the bottom and looks like the 4 bottom ones are moving about. Ah well. I have been so emotional lately because Olivia has been so demanding and grumpy. DF only gets to see it after work and then she goes to sleep at 830, so really only a few hours. I think I might start going for a walk on my own after he gets homw from work, just to clear my head.
Today is a busy day for us. We have phsio (hopefully the last one...but then again who knows!), then we are seeing someone about our homeloan..what do we do with that!, we are going to my mums for her birthday, I got her a mug with a photo of Olivia on it and it says i love my nana this much with face and outstreatched arms, and then Adam and I are going to the crowded House concert in the city. They are my fav band. I cant wait. We even cut our trip to Europe a bit shorter to fit in the Split enz concert!!!!!!
Ok, well have I yabbered enough...OMG, Olivias not crying yet!!!!
By the way, is anyone feeding their bubs meat? I made up some spag bol sauce as per a bubs cookbook, then minced it up. Shes had 2 meals of it and seems to chuck up a fair bit of it. I think we will hold off for a while. Hows your bubs going with meat??? I just think its too heavy for her tum.
Better go feed her breakfast.
Have a great day
Love melissa
-
Hey there Melissa, I got given a great book in regards to sleeping etc & it's helped sooo much. So I've been going by most of what it says. It includes what foods & when. I've given Charlie both Lamb & Chicken minced up with vegies, he's fine with these. I don't see the point in feeding them on their own IYKWIM.......in regards to her chucking up a fair bit of the spag bol sauce, could it have been something else perhaps? In my book it says we should hold off tomato until around 8months?? perhaps that was it?
-
Hi!
Sorry I haven't been on....We spent Mon & Tue up at Bonnie Doon with the PIL. Had a great time. Dylan had a ball crawling around everywhere!
Guess what?? We have his sleep sorted! Woohoooooooo!!!!
We had a couple of intense nights but now he's dropped his night feed and is sleeping for hours on end! Woohoo! It's a miracle! LOL! And what happened last night?? I woke to have to go to the toilet - hehehe. Always the way!
Oh yeah - and he pulled himself to standing on the edge of the dishwasher the cheeky bugger!! What else in Dylan world?? The last 2 nights he was so tired after dinner he fell asleep in his highchair! so cute - we even got it on video - hehe.
Kaz - Yeah on the solids - have you seen those tommee tippee feeder things?? I put chunks of fruit in that and Dylan has a munch on it. It's like a little mesh thing...
Nup - no cloth here - I'm way too lazy for that - good on you though!!
Cleaning?? Whats that?? Not much of that happening around here at the moment - LOL!
Yeah on another tooth as well!!! Sorry to hear he had a fall...we're getting lots of that with Dylan at the moment and unfortunately he seems to do most of it on our floorboards!! He's getting tough though - some knocks I swear he's going to scream but he just picks himself up and off he goes - LOL!
Poor little munchkin sounds a bit in the wars - hope he's settled down for you a bit!
LOL at eating grass...Dylan did that today while I was hanging out washing but he grabbed a dry leaf instead and then proceeded to chuck up half of his milk feed...silly duffa.
Kel - Hope Lily keeps sleeping so well in her cot for you! Thats great! Ooh oat brits are a good idea! Are they just in the supermarket??
Melissa - Sorry to hear you didn't go away and that Olivia isn't well - hope she's on the mend! Dylans the same at the moment - hates to be left alone - luckily I get away with a bit more because he loves Louis' company but if Louis walks off all hell breaks loose. It was so cute though - he was crawling around the house today just looking for us - poor little thing looked so sad on his own...
Big hugs...a walk sounds like a great idea...it can get very draining sometimes - I promise it won't last forever though!!!
How did you go at the physio?
Hmmm - I haven't given Dylan meat yet but it's next on my list...Maybe it's something else in the recipe?? Did it have tomato/onion etc? Sometimes the acidic foods are the ones they'll throw up....just a thought. (LOL just read Erins post - hehe - great minds think alike!)
Wow what a huge day!! I hope you get a good nights sleep!
Jen - Yeah on a toothy peg!!! I'm so glad Beau's sleeping better for you! Thats so good! Sorry to hear you had a rough night...Please please can you pack me in your suitcase for your weekend away? - LOL!!!
Erin - Glad Charlie is going so well - wow on the great sleeping. LOL at not wanting any more kids! hehe. Aww poor little man - doing the daycare thing can be hard - I remember Louis would just scream when I left him...I used to have an attack of the guilts but it was only for 2-3 hours while I went to work...
Ooh I'm getting excited for christmas as well - I have to go and buy some decorations - we hardly have any!
Good on you for getting to the gym!!
omg it's 11.45pm...must get some sleep! Chat later!
-
Oh goodness, everyone seems to have so much energy! (or maybe Kris is making up for a lot :D)
Kris - OMG on the pulling himself up, and the falling asleep in the high-chair. What are you doing with him - training for a bubba marathon? *g* So jealous about getting away ... did you get a lot of rain up there? Is it making any difference to the lakes / dams?
Mel - *hugs* and hope you're feeling better. No good with the screaming though.
OMG I just turned on Sunrise and Mel & Koshie are decked out Beatles-style. Wonder if "a bugs life" would be OK for Pip to watch? I often wonder how much of what I watch is absorbed by him - like the news and those crime shows I love ....
Yesterday we went to an Oaks Day function at a local winery, lots of fun. Pip chose our sweep tix and out of 4 races we got 2 seconds and a first! So we came ahead in the races! Good on ya Pip! And the best thing I think was that except for the people sitting on our table, most people didn't even know he was there - he was a quiet, well-behaved little bubba. Its great now that he holds his own bottle, cause he had his bottle while I had my lunch!
Erin - good at you with the gym - any exercises you're doing in particular? Or just all-over workouts? I really wish my gym had childcare :(
Our Mum's group is meeting at a park today, I just don't have the energy to cook so I'm going to take some drinks. But they just rang and it now 1:30 not 12:30. I'll walk down with the dog, she'll enjoy the walk.
-
Heya,
The spag bol sauce does have tomatoes and onion in it, so it might be that. She does ok with just plain chicken tho. Will hold off it for a while. Shes happily nude on the floor atm. She went well with physio yesterday...2 weeks till we see the specialist. Shes just shuffled on her back to the floorboards...hope she doesnt wee on the rug, I wish I could work out what to put down that was big and absorbant, atm i just use one of those huggies change mats.
Yesterday was a long day. The concert was great, although I felt bad by the end of the night. We didnt get home til 1am. Liv was so good, she slept all the way home. i had to get up early tho to clean up and do her bottles, but luckily she slept from 11am til 1pm, so I slept too. I think I have a bit of sinus and probably the start of some infection...a bit of yellow gunk coming out. So I am happy to do nothing.
Hope you are all well, thanks for the meat tips.
Take care
Love melissa

Hi girls,
Well we have had an insanely boring few days. It has been pouring with rain here for a week now and every time I think of going out it starts to rain. Went to mums for a few hours yesterday to get out of the house and then did the groceries today, wooohooo what a socialite I am!! I have been sooo bored but without a car, there's not much I can do in the rain. DH is home today, so not too boring today, though he's studying for an assignment, so he's not been that much more fun that the other days, LOL!
Our friend had a baby on Wednesday. A liitle boy they named Lucas. I can't wait to see him!! Another new bubba...Lil's just growing too too fast!
Jen, I hear you on bubs getting too heavy to rock to sleep. I usually have to rock Lily to sleep and she's pushing 9kg. Sooo not good for the posture! She is starting to go off to sleep in her cot by herself a few times a day, and she tends to sleep better at those times too. Though her day sleeps seem to have improved alot anyway, she's sleeping for at least an hour at a time now, better than 40mins or less!
Tell me about fluffy rugs, ours is wool and just won't stop shedding. Lily ends up with mouthfulls of it if she manages to get onto it. Or she finds dust bunnies in the nooks and crannys to eat...mmmm yuck!!
Lucky you having a spa weekend. When you go just think of how green with jealousy everyone is! Me included!!! I hope you enjoy it....then again how could you not enjoy a spa weekend??
Erin, LOL at not having more kids yet....I wouldn't want more if I had an 11mth old, 2.5yr old and 6mth old!
Good on you for going to the gym. I have been trying every day, booking LIly into the childcare, then having to cancel that day because of the stupid rain.
Mel, sorry to hear Olivia has been giving you a hard time. I hope her teeth pop up soon. Hubbies have no idea what we go through do they? They think they get to see it when they're home, but it's nothing compared to doing it all day everyday, no matter how you feel. A walk would probably be a good idea for you. I go to the gym without Lily when ever DH is home and even though when I go normally she's in the childcare there, I feel like I get more of a break when DH has her. I think because for that hour or so I don't need to be at her beckoned call, IYKWIM.
I am giving Lily a bit of chicken once a week or so at the mo. Just a little bit cooked up with her veggies like a soup and blended down. She loves it. The upset tummy was probably caused by the tomatoes, they are not reccommended to be given to bubs before about 9+mths I think.
As for the nudy time carpet saver, you could use a cot mattress protector.
I hoep all goes well with the specialist this time. Hopefully she can get out of her harness.
Sounds like the concert was fun, and yay that Olivia was soo good for you.
Sorry for feeling cr@py too, I hoep you get over it quickly.
Kris, yay on Dylan sleeping better! He sounds like such an active little man. Lily is only just sorting out how to make herself sit up unsupported. Though she still tumbles over after a minute or so. yep the oatbrits are with the other cerials in the supermarket, they look like vitabrits (the packet).
Kaz, LOL at pip picking your tickets and winning for you! He's your little lucky charm. Sounds like you had fun! I've been trying to teach Lil how to hold her own bottle too, but she's a lazy bugger. It's not that she can't do it, she just doesn't want to, the little monkey.
Ok gotta go, bye bye!!
-
Mel - try getting a couple of old mattress protectors and sewing them together, or alternatively get a flannel-backed tablecloth and put it flannel-up.
-
cool, i might get a flannel table cloth, that sounds like a great idea. She loves her nudie time, just that she pees everywhere. We ended up going outside after she peed on the changemat. I popped her on a towel under our apple trees and she discovered the grass....and it went in her mouth... it was so cute. Still feel like crud, but at least olivia was good today.
As for the tomatoes, i didnt know about that. the book that i got the recipe from says it is suitable from 6-9 months. Anyone recommend a good book for me?
Got to go....my nose is running away from me!!!!
have a great weekend
Love Melissa
-
LOL Melissa, at least her pee just runs onto the floor. I have to watch Charlie like a hawk if he's having nappy free time. If he's not on his tummy then watch out!!! Ha, most the time he sprays himself in the face.
-
Thats so funny Erin, i forgot about boys peeing!!!!
-
Hi!
Had a huge day trekking into the city to sell tbs at an office building. Mum came and babysat the kids...Poor Dylan missed his whole 11am feed but had 2 big ones when I got home.
Boys are well - it doesn't even feel like it's going to be the weekend tomorrow - dh is working and then we've got a bbq and on sunday we've got a combined bday party for the 2yo's in the morning and I've got work in the arvo! I'm not sure how I'm going to fit everything in! LOL!
Kaz - LOl at baby marathon!! He was standing up playing on a fisher price table today for about 3-4 min before he plopped back down! LOL. I think he's just so active cos he's trying to keep up with his big brother! So glad you had a great day out yesterday!! Hope you had fun today as well.
Melissa - Glad you had fun! Hope you feel better soon...Good luck with the specialists in a couple of weeks!! I must let Dylan have more nudie time...I'm so bad with it - Louis never got much either- I just hate the wee's that go everywhere - LOL! I'm not sure about books...I haven't used them - i'm all for simple cooking until they can eat our food in a few months!!
Chat later! Sweet dreams!
Kel - Glad you're well...sometimes it's nice to have a few quiet days!! Congrats to your friend!
-
Yesterday we had our mum's group meeting, I took a watermelon to the park. It was so funny, we all sat there with our babies and let them try the watermelon! Lovely walk, but I can feel it in my gluts today.
Anyhows, time to start the housework!
-
Awww Kaz - sounds so cute!!
Dylan had a great sleep last night - due to his mucked up feeds I fed him at 11.30pm but then he slept nearly 6 hours straight - yeah( and he'd slept about 3 hours before then)!!! It's just such an improvement I can't believe it!!
I gave him a little bit of butter toast today - had a bit of a munch but wasn't too interested! hehe.
I've got to do the shopping today so will have to buy him some meat - I just buy chicken breast/steak and then put in the blender...you get less fat in it than the already minced stuff and at least you now whats in it! LOL! I'll probably start giving him some pasta as well. He's been having rice in his veggies for ages. It's so nice when they start eating the families food!! Makes life a lot easier! They really don't eat baby food for very long really though...
It's going to be a beautiful day in Melb today!! Better get the washing out on the line! Chat later!
-
Is it OK to give them fruit like nectarines and stuff?
Pip just wacked himself in the eye and didn't stop crying until I put a bit of nectarine on his tongue, then he wanted to share mine!
Kris - good to see you're getting more sleep. I have to say, you have such a lovely, laid-back approach that nothing seems too hard - all the stuff I read that seems hard and awful, you're doing it but in an easy way. So thankyou :D
Isn't it a glorious day! I've got 2 loads on the line already, and just came up to get a load of baby stuff - will try the MCNs this arvie !
Have a great day all!
-
Hey,
Phoebe is well and truly over her measles now. We had a few nightmare nights where she would wake up at all hours wanting to play but now she is back in a routine and I'm loving it coz no more 5-6am wake up she is sleeping in til roughly 8ish. She has just started to fit into 00 clothes YIPPEEEE lol and totally surprised me on thursday when she sat up by herself in the pram. I waited til Steve was home in the arvy to see if she could do it n the floor and the clever little monkey did. We took her to the Paed on Wed for her checkup and he was well impressed by how she has come along-Dr Diplock is a lovely old man who looked after her while she was in SCN and he just couldnt believe how adjusted she is.
Phoebe love her rudie nudie time. It's been quite hot up here so last week we stripped her down and put her in her JJ outside with a container of water under her. She loved splashing and jumping about in the water, it was really quite cute.
Mel- I have a picnic blanky I put down for Phoebe it has a rubber back on it and is washable. I have just started giving her chicken. I made a casserole and there was heaps left over so I roughly blended it then froze it in ice cube trays. She gobbles it all down.
Kaz- Nectarine should be alright. Its a stone fruit like a peach or an apricot and it's ok to give them those.
Kris- It's probably all that crawling and moving about thats wearing Dylan out lol
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, I cant remember what was on the last page lol Steve has started to call me Dory Jnr coz I have a memory like a fish.

Hey there everyone, bit excited today... Charlie is having prof photo's taken. He's sleeping now as we just had swimming lessons. Far out, today the instructor got us to sit them on the edge, then she held them....we took a few step back & she just chucks them in & down they go LOL I almost missed catching Charlie the first time & he went down a way & didnt bat an eyelid!!
Kaz we love the Watermelon here too, esp since it's soooo hot already. I cut a big hunk & let Charlie suck on it when it's hot, he loves it. Or I put some in one of thos little mesh things.
Kristie, I buy the Chicken breast too & just blend with some vegies. I found some small baby pasta they've just gotten up here so have been giving that with some of his vegies - seems to love it as he back eating more vegies now. Think I may try some tuna this week too as I'm running out of ideas.
We head away for a week on Monday so need to make a heap of food up as Charlie wont eat the jar stuff except the fruit & I don't blame him, yucky.
Hope everyone is well.

Thought I'd better post before we got off the page again. Super quiet weekend here, just recovering. feeling much better, although Olivia now has a very clogged up nose. I cant aspirate it with the plunger thingy coz she wont let me, so I popped some euky bear rub on her chest. Hasnt done a great deal. Shes chucked up loads of flegsem so i guess thats the best way of getting it out!!! Pitty half the time its all over me. She threw up on me, herself and the carpet 3 times before I left her bedroom. Oh well, never mind. So I have declaired it National Throw up on Mummy Day. And instead of wasting my perfume, I'll just use o'dur chuck instead!
Think i'll get the vapouriser out today!
I started yesterday putting Olivia to bed before she fell asleep in my arms, and we didnt have any crying. The day sleep is harder coz she moves about, but I have the luxurary of her in the harness at night, so she doesnt move. Shes confined to her back, so she was asleep with 15 minutes!
At the moment I am looking for clothes on ebay, we're up to 0 now. We usually get stuff from her older cousin who is 16months old, but Olivia has caught up to her (shes a little tacker and also a sickly tacker).
I better go, got some housework to do...then off to Southland with a girlfriend:)
Have a good day
Love Melissa

Hi ladies,
Well we have had an horrific few days!! Lily is being a monster. I want to trade this devil baby in and get my beautiful angel back please....has anyone seen her??? The past few days she's been velcro baby to me, not wanting anyone but me and crying at DH when he tries to take her. Yesterdya and today I can't put her down anywhere, not in her cot, or her playgym, or in her walker toy thingo, or even in front of the tv!!! She LUUURRVVESSS tv!! I usually have a tanty on my hands when I turn it off after playshcool! But not lately.
Last night I was up at 10,12,2,4.30, 5.30 and 7am. And she didn't ge to bed until 9pm. Her bed time is 7ish usually but she just refused to sleep. My DH has been on night shifts the past few nights and I am all alone at night....it seems so much worse at night :( . He told me to leave her in her cot to cry last night because I was at the end of my tether, so I did. That was THE WORST thing I could have done!! I left her for no more than 5mins before she got hysterical, vomited and almost choked herself. Just as I was about to go in she did it and she scared the ***** out of me. I picked her up and hit her back and she spat it out, looked at me as if to say 'see what you did' and tried for ages to breathe properly. I got her out to the lounge room and was trying to shush her and she kept on coughing and spluttering and then did a huge projectile vomit on the floor. I took her to the bathroom and on the way, another huge power vomit all over me and her. Then she managed to breathe again and started to scream again. I was in tears too saying 'I'm sorry, mummy's sorry' over and over and she took one look at me and cried even harder. I had to calm myself down so she'd calm down. I undressed her and me to my undies and gave her a bath and she calmed down. So there I was on the verge of tears in my undies with Lily in the bath, hehe!
Poor baby she's just soo miserable. I think its her teeth again, she has a rash under her chin and nappy rash like she had when she got her bottom teeth. She's chewing anything she can get her gums on! I just wish I knew what to do with her I'm going to go insane! I'm going to go to mums for the night tonight so I can get some help since DH will be at work again.
Ok thats my whinge for the day, I hope you are all having a better time than us at the moment :)

Hi!
Hope you're all well! We're all going well here other than having way to much to do and finding it hard to keep on top of everything!
The kids are good! Dylans a bit in the wars as he keeps climbing things and falling over. He's standing up all the time now and then thinks he can let go of what he's holding and down he goes...He's toughening up though! LOL!
I've also nearly taught him to find my nose!! If I can get his attention for 2 seconds he reaches his hand out to grab it!!
I've given him beef and chicken so far...The first lot of chicken I gave him last night and he had one of his best sleeps ever!! So well see how he goes tonight!
Kaz - Awww thanks! It definitely makes life easier if you chill out a bit thats for sure! I certainly have my moments and I was definitely more hung up on getting everything perfect for Louis but it really just isn't necessary!! You want to enjoy this time - it really goes so fast...(Hmm...starting to get a bit too clucky I think!)
I gave Dylan some mango in his little feeder thing today - 4 little cubes of it and he sat there and munched away and it was all gone in a few minutes!!! So nectarine I'm sure will be fine!!! Those feeder things are great because then you don't have to worry about them choking!!
Tiffanny - Thats fantastic that Pheobe's doing so well!! Yeah!! You must feel very proud!!!
Oh you just reminded me about the jj in water!! I never did it with Louis - I heard about it too late and then it was cold weather but I really must do it with Dylan - Louis will have fun splashing with him anyway!!! Thanks!!
He certainly is wearing himself out - although the little bugger has given up his afternoon sleep so he usually has 1 1/2 in the morning and then a nap in the arvo and thats it until he's so exhausted at dinner time he falls asleep on my lap!! So he has a 10min nap then and then up for a bath and back to bed again....A very strange routine but whatever works!!!
Erin - Geez - that sounds like a full on swimming lesson for a little bubba!! I just got the timetable for Dylan and I'm going to book him very soon. It's a bit tricky with the 2 though - I want to go in 1 hit but it's hard with the 2 kids - I think I'll have to go in with Dylan while Louis sits in the Pram and then get Dylan dressed and then jump in with Louis while Dylan sits in the pram...hmmm hope it works! hehe.
Yeah on getting prof photos - I bet they're so cute! I'm a sucker for them! We're getting some done on Saturday of the boys - good xmas pressies for the grandparents!! This will be our 5th lot since Louis arrived - whoops! LOL!!
I'm with you - the jars of food are just horrible!!! Poor Dylan eats the same boring blend all the time - now just with different meat in it...Hmm I must look up when we can give them cheese cos Louis' favourite was pototo with some broccoli, carrot and zucchni with cheese in it!! Dylan seems happy with his pumpkin, sweet pot, zucch, broccoli and carrot blend!! I remember I gave a bit of that to Louis though and he nearly turned orange!! hehehehe!
Melissa - Glad to hear your getting a bit better. Sorry to hear Olivias still a bit sick though...It's so horrible for them. The vaporiser sounds like a good idea!! Have fun buying some clothes! There's heaps of cute stuff for girls for summer at the moment!!
Kel - Aww Big hugs!!! I'm so sorry you had such a rough night! Sounds like a bath was good idea for both of you. Please don't feel guilty though - You sound like a great mummy!!
I also know that crying it out is an awfully hard thing to do. We did it last week with Dyan and it was horrible but it helped us get rid of that night feed which was great. I generally do it for 1min, then 2min, 3min etc as I can't handle him crying for too long. I also spend quite some time in there with him rolled away from me patting his bum of just having my hands on him on my cheek on his. In saying that though if it's teething I suppose there's not a lot you can do and she's probably hurting.
Have you thought of taking her into bed with you? Especially while your dh is on night shift - might be a way to get some decent sleep??
Hope you get a better nights sleep at your mums tonight - great idea to go there so you can have some extra help an support!!
Ok - better get ready for bed - I was up to midnight cleaning!!

Hi ya'll!
Well the retreat was amaaazzzing! Lots of Tai Chi, yoga, organic food, beauty treatments and meditation...it was hard to come back to reality!
That said....I was on the phone for an hour this morning to tresillian as Beau's sleeping hasnt improved at all...I was up about 6 times last night - his two sleeps today he has had no dummy and i am determined to let him cry itout at night now. They say it only takes three nights, nothing can be worse than what he is like at the moment. He isnt even hungry - just unwrapped and dummy out etc etc...
He is going cold turkey on both! Enough messing around now I think - I have tried absolutely every thing else so.....I am scared but! I asked DH to get up with me and have a cup of tea or something when he is bawling! I am scared too Kel that he will vom too, I think Lil and he must be related with the waking!
On food - B has had mango but spat it up a bit, I have nectarines there to give him now actually, no meat yet, but I had a book too that said onion and tomato for 6months and it didnt agree with him either...he basically has apple and pear, lots of root vegies, banana...pretty limited
Ok will do personals next time - just wanted to say I am back in the land of the sleep deprived!
-
Hi!
Jen - I'm so glad you had a good time - sounds amazing!! I'm very jealous!! I'm so going to do something like that as a treat when I'm finished having bubbas!!!
Sounds like you've got a plan with Beau's sleep - I hope it works for you!!! It should at least help him improve anyway! Dylan still wakes through the night but not nearly as much.
Sounds like the foods going well also...
Not much for me today - just getting some work and housework done...kids are well although Dylan seems to be throwing up a bit more than usual today - aahh the joys...

Hello ladies :D
Well, after the vaccination on Tuesday, I've had devil baby too.
Mum & Dad came down on Sunday night and Monday Mum, Pip & I went first to the OB/GYN and then to find a wedding dress - and I have one!!!!! WOOHOOO! Then he wacked his head on Monday night and was crying heaps, DF wouldn't give him a bottle though (grrr). Vaccination on Tuesday and again more crying in pain, but now he's lost his voice, its pitiful to listen to.
And now he's crying again, gtg
