Pip now has absolutely *no* voice now. I've called the docs and waiting to see if they are able to see us tonight. It's been getting worse since his vaccination on Tuesday, and now there's a cough as well. I can't even hear him cry in his cot when I'm in the next room with the door open :(
-
Kaz- Oh the poor lil sweetheart. Doesn't it just break your heart when they aren't well. I hope he gets well soon.
-
:( I now can't hear him when I'm in the same room. Except for raspberries - they're still coming thick & fast!

:happyforyou:
B slept for 7 hours straight last night!!!! Yipeeee!!!! He went doen at 7:30 and woke at 2:30, I gave him some water, but he wouldn't settle, so a bit more and a bit of a pat (bad I know) and he slept till 4:40, he was up for the day then but still, this is mega!! He hasn't had that long a stretch since he was 3 months old. No dummy - woo hoo!!!
On a worse note he has these scary blisters on his bum and creases of his legs bear his crotch (see main thread) I am totally freaked by them, cortisone is not doing anything for him....any ideas?
Kaz, hope little pip feels better soon
Kris - yea, hopefully the no dummy has turned a corner for us
Ok he is yelling gotta go

Hi girls,
Well devil baby still lives here....she's not as bad, but still really sooky and grumbly. I went to coffee with a friend yesterday who hadn't met her yet and all she did was whinge and cry. I was so embarrassed in the cafe, it was packed and I could see people looking at me...though alot of people also told me how cute she is :) . Still no more teeth, but very red sore looking bumpy gums. She's sleeping better too sothat's good.
DH was home yesterday to help, though he stressed me out more than helped yesterday. He refuses to walk around eith Lil when she's sooking, which is usually all she wants for a few minutes, then you can sit again and sometimes put her back down to play. But he won't do it and 'give her what she wants all the time'. WTF??? She's 7mths old, I'm sure all she wants is a bit of comfort from her throbbing gums, stupid man....ok vent over!
Lily is getting up on her knees now with her bum in the air, but no crawling yet. No creeping either, she just rolls everywhere! She's sitting up but still wobbly. She can stand up too, but won't hold onto furniture to steady herself and she can't pull herself up either.
Kristie, Lil loves to grab my nose when she has a bottle too and also nearly scratches out my eyes in the process! Pooor Dylan and his accidents....I guess he'll learn soon enough what he can and can't do! As for the crying episode, I won't be doing it again! I think I'll just have keep on rocking and patting....I have tried the patting in her bed too, but she just kicks her legs and won't relax with me there when she knows I usually hold her, little bugger.
Jen, I'm jealous of your get away! I wish I could do something like that....mmm, one day! I'm glad to hear that you have managed to get rid of Beau's dum, I'm too scared to try again with the crying. And yayayay that he slept so well for you. Sorry I can't help you with the spots on his bum...
Kaz, wooohooo that you got your dress, I remember how exciting that was when I got mine....I hope Pip gets better soon poor little monkey.
Ok gotta make the most of my quiet time and do some study...yay! Not
-
Hi All,
Off the page again. Hope everybody is ok. Hope Lil is not terrorising you too much and you are getting some sleep.. Hope pip is better, poor little tacker. Glad to hear beau slept well for you, and hows dylan, moving around like a champ!
We have a hens/bucks night tonight, so Olivia is having her first sleep over at my dads. I have to pick her up early tho, so not too much partying for me...hoping to not worry too much about Liv, but she'll be ok. Last night she slept from 930pm til 8am without waking up...sorry to mention it for those who arent sleeping well. Shes doing good, much better now her cold has almost dried up. She is sitting well, still wouldnt leave her tho coz she just falls after a few minutes. She rocks on her hands and knees. No teeth yet.
Well I have to go, DF has told me that she has a 'spicy meatball' (poo) and he's disapeared into the toilet!!!
Have a great weekend. Enjoy the weather.
Love Melissa
-
Kellie - my DF is just the same with the "not giving into him" thing. MEH!
Mel - enjoy your hens' night! Don't get too plastered :D And what a name - a "spicy meatball" indeed!
YAY Jen! what a trouper, and that's just you for persisting, and congrats to B for sleeping through.
Pip has his voice back, and the poor little love is feeling heaps better - the doc said he had a virus. He also had really sloppy poos which I put down to the sweet potato, but that was a symptom of the virus (which I shared, I just thought I was stressed!). He's sleeping a lot better too.
Although last night he woke at around 4am and DF got up to comfort him ... I went back to sleep and was awoken by a strange sound, not unlike a cartoon character going down a flight of stairs on their bum. Unfortunately it was DF who slipped on the stairs, and then went down on his left side. He was carrying Pip and Pip apparently enjoyed the ride - DF is in heaps of pain today and has a huge bruise from his shoulder to his butt on the left. And its DF's b'day today too ... I don't know how he managed to keep Pip safe, poor DF was crying from the shock of it all after he came upstairs. But Pip was happy, and kept safe, and blew a couple of happy raspberries at his daddy after I went down and got his bottle. I keep worrying that I'll fall down the stairs, I try not to take Pip up / down if I can help it.
Today we did the bridal registry thing, and ended the day with a visit to Santa for Pip!!! woohoo! He loved Santa - pulled his beard, ate his beard, blew raspberries and hugged him. And we have photos too.
have a good day / weekend all.
-
Hey there...
Hey Mel, have a great break on your night out...
Kaz- so jealous of santa photos! Cant wait to do that! Not your Dh's fall but, what a legend saving poor pip and injuring himself...
Well we took B to RPA emergency on Friday as his spots were getting really bad....he has impetigo which is like a staf infection, he has medicine ehich is clearing it up well but he has shocking dioherrea.
His sleeping is a bit ordinary, up 3 or 4 times - it takes ages to settle him without the dummy, so I have to rock him in his cot and give him water...I wonder is this as bad as the dummy????
xxxx
-
omg Sam, that's horrid! Hope the little tyke is getting better ...
Also - Santa photo is on my gallery page here!
-
Kaz-glad pip is getting better and you too. Glad to hear he like Santa!
jen- good that Beau is on the mend. It must have been terrible to find blisters like that.
My night out was great. I dropped olivia off at my mums, telling her how well she sleeps..think ijinxed it!! She went down at 1120pm and was awake and screaming for one and a half hours at 145am. Ops, its either her teeth, but probably a different environment. We went pole dancing...my body is aching! And back to a friends hows for drinks and a stipper..who was hung like a horse..hehehe:)
Got home at 130 and picked Olivia up at 830. Lucky she had a good sleep at lunch time. Her dad on the otherhand didnt get to sleep til 9am...never the less he is still suffering!
hope you all had a great weekend. Its already hot, so keep cool.
Love Melissa

Hi!
Omg - Long time no post!!
We're going well - I've just been super busy!! Kids are going well. Dylans a little terror crawling everywhere and is now standing and cruising along furniture as well! I can't believe how active he is.
He's sleepign quite well at night although is having an early feed at the moment - around 5.30-6am but most of the time he'll go back to sleep with me. I think the warmer weather is making him a bit thirsty as well. Whenever he cries now though I walk in and he's standing up in the cot - look so cute!!
I put them in the little shell pool today and he loved having a splash around in the nudies!!
I got photos taken at Myer on sat and they're so gorgeous - I'll have to try and scan them in when I get them so I can put them in my ticker!
Kaz - Yeah on finding a wedding dress. Poor Pip sounds in the wars - I hope he's all better now. Oh no on your df falling - wow - how lucky he was to keep pip safe. I don't blame him for getting a fright!! Hope he gets better soon.
Yeah on the santa photos. They're on my to do list. I haven't had a drama with Louis having them but when Santa came up to him in Myer on sat he looked really unsure so we'll see how we go. I've been talking him up heaps but he can look a bit scary sometimes! LOL!
Jen - Yeah on the sleep!! woohoo. Don't worry about patting - thats fine!! Poo r little munchkin with the blisters - sounds nasty...how is it now? What have you tried already? Sorry just read your next post - poor little munchkin - I hope he gets better soon...Hmmm we're doing ok with the dummy now as Dylan always puts it in himself - I don't put it in his mouth anymore I just put it in his hand and he puts it in. In saying that I probably get 1 wake up a night for the dummy and thats usually cos he's up the other end of the cot. He seems to be really comfy sleeping on his tummy lately too...
Kel - Hope Lilys settled down for you. Yes - Men can be painful sometimes - I'd say my dh is way more strict with the boys than I am! hehe.
Melissa - I hope you had a nice night out. I had an engagement party Sat night and it was so nice to get out. I got all dressed up and had a few drinks - had a ball! Haven't been out like that for ages - met up with all my old school friends - nearly lost my voice! LOL!!
LOl on the spicy meatball! hehe. Dylans got no teeth yet either - and no sign of them coming anytime soon...
Just read your next post - Glad you had fun!!! Omg - pole dancing!!! Sounds like fun...I think I'd collapse trying to hold myself up! LOL!
OK - must go and tidy up the kitchen!
Chat later!
-
Kris - wow, Dylan is storming along! We were considering Myer photos, but our wedding photographer will do us an engagement photo, and do Pip as well during that :D Just have to schedule it! And he's 7 months old today!!!
Mel - woohooo on the pole dancing! Was it in town? We did it a few weeks ago for my g/f's hens, it rocked! pole + strip - how hillarious!
As for Olivia, poor little pumpkin. Hope she settles down again for you soon.
Us - well, the breathing alarm thingy went off last night, Pip was either lying in the valley between the 2 or his breathing was restarted by the commotion, or the battery is low. Lots of crying, and then a bottle. He's been rather unsettled, can't blame him with this heat, specially as I don't really feel the heat and keep turning off fans.
He now loves his apple & custard in a jar, and I'm struggling with rice cereal. Have tried the plain stuff and put in apple, the banana stuff ... he just won't take it. Don't know what to do with him re that!
His voice is now back, but he's still a little hoarse, so no idea what's happening there.
-
Not much happening here. I've gone into hibernation mode with the a/c hehe. Phoebe met her new cousin on the weekend, she looked like an absolute giant next to Aurora. My sis couldnt get over how much she had grown (she hasn't seen her in a good 3-4 months-Rori was in NICU). She just thinks she is the bee's knees now that she can sit up lol I had her on the webcam this morning for her nana over in the UK. She really played up to the camera lol I think we have a little drama queen on our hands. I cant wait to get Santa photo's this year. Last year the sight of a Santa sent me off into tears.
Mel- The first night Phoebe stayed at my mum's she played up, I think it's just the different environment(and my dad's snoring lol). Lol @ pole dancing.
Jen- I hope Beau is feeling better soon. Poor little tyke.
Kaz- I've stopped giving Phoebe the rice cereal she much prefers her weetbix and she luuuuurves arrowroot biccies. She demolishes one of them in under 5 mins. You could try him with a biccie, just pop a bit of hot water over it so it goes mushy and add fruit. I also give Phoebe porridge for her brekky.
I hear a grumble from the deep, she must be awake.
See ya's.
-
Tis very quiet in here again, hope you are all well. Thought I'd better post again or we'd be lost to the next page...its becoming regular! Must be all busy with our bubs.
Olivia just spent the last half hour sitting without falling, shes getting good, but i still wouldnt leave her without pillows!!! Shes fine now. I think she just played up at my mums. We have the specialist tomorrow...will let you know. And hows this weather....it was stinking hot, now its raining cats and dogs...at least my tomatoes are getting watered (oooh I have lots of them and cauliflower and strawberries). Better go feed Olivia, we have been having late breakies coz we have been sleeping in!!!
Take care
Love Melissa

Hi!
Kaz - Thats great your wedding photog will take photos of you guys now!! I honestly can't believe how quickly the time's gone this year with our bubbas!
What a scare with the alarm thing going off! Glad everythings ok though!
Now's the time you can start experiementing with different foods so don't stress about the rice cereal so much - I give Dylan oat flakes although he's having oat weetbix thing as well + muesli! hehe. As soon as my baby cereals are gone he'll just eat the oat things and then probably go on to weetbix. He's also eating toast at brekky time with some butter & vegemite! hehe. Just a little bit.
I'm looking forward to cooking him some dinner with pasta in today and couscous is a good option as well. I'm also going to cook him Louis' old favourite - potato, carrot, broccoli, zucchini mashed with some milk/formula and cheese!!! Yum!! I like it too! hehe.
Tiffanny - Glad your all well! Yep - Santa photo will be great! I'm starting to stock up on xmas stuff as we're having it at our house this year - Probably around 18 people to cook for - aaahhh!!! Why oh why did I say I'd do it! LOL! Nah, It will be fun! I haven't ever really had much xmas stuff in the house but I'm very excited about it now!!
Ooh you just reminded me - I must buy cruskits - they're really good plain or with a bit of butter!! They go all soggy but the kids love them!
Melissa - Thats great Olivias doing so well sitting!! Good luck tomorrow!!! Yeah on the veggies growing!! My weed are going great!! hehe.
Both bubbas are asleep - I better get some stuff done!! Chat later!
-
Hi Everybody!
Well.....Beaus blisters are nearly all gone and his medicine is nearly finished....I did 'teach to sleep' last night for the first time.
I settled him normally at 6:30pm and he woke up at 10:30, I let him cry and went in about every half hour with a sip of water...he wasnt hysterical just whinging - this went on till 11:50 and then he slept till 5:15am! I slept on the couch however as DH was a bit pooey that I am doing the control crying on a weeknight etc etc....oh well, I have to work on Thursday and Friday too but I am sick of putting off trying it for one reason or another! Rant over!
For all his sleeps today I havent wrapped him and let him whinge, it has only taken between 5 and 10mins for him to fall asleep and he has had between 1hr and 1hr 45 for 3 naps today.... I feel I am on the verge of a breakthrough!!!!
Mel - wow cool on Olivia sitting for a half hour, clever monkey!
Tiffany - Beau is a giant compared to other bubbas too...he he
Kaz - Scary about Pips breathing watsit, god how frightening!
Kel - Dylan is amazing! Standing in his cot! Cant wait!
Ok gotta go - the jolly jumper is fun no more...
Let you know how we go tonight fingers crossed xx
-
Morning all!
Jen - hope all went well last night with B's sleeping!
Us - last night I suddenly realised that Pip is no longer a baby. He's an infant. He no longer snuggles into my shoulder when I pick him up, he's now more interested in what's happening in the world at my height.
*sighs*
Quick Q - who's baby gives them hugs? Or when can we expect them?
Kris - are you doing a ham? I love ham. I have mine ordered from our butcher here, got one last year and OMG, the best ham. Otway pork, free-range organic. Soooo yummy. I have a theory that DF put off doing the kitchen cause when we have one I want to host Christmas here for his family!
Mel - Livvy's doing so well sitting! Pip isn't there yet, but I think that's cause DF & I don't really give him enough opportunity.
Tiffany - hope it's cooling down for you!
have a good day all.
-
Hi!
Well, I had a rotten night with Dylan - he was so unsettled and then I ended up bringing him into bed with me - haven't had to do that in ages!! So I'm a bit of a zombie tonight after getting some good sleeps lately and the a bad one. He was very grizzly this morning - I think he's tired too...No idea why...no sign of toothie pegs or anything...although I did give him a bit of cheese last night so don't know if that upset his tummy maybe??
Jen - Well done on the sleeping!! Thats fantastic - it should just get easier and easier now. I'm obviously going to have to go back a step to get Dylan sleeping well again..cheeky bugger.
Kaz - Oh I know!! They're such big bubbas now!! I think thats why I'm getting clucky again!! LOL! Dylan still snuggles when he's tired but yeah he's mostly too busy for it all. It does come back - I just can't remember when....I get big squeezy cuddles off Louis and kisses and he stretches out his arms and says - I love you thiiiis much!! hehe.
I am going to have ham...not that I know what to do with it...I think we'lljust have it plain....?? We just don't have enough space to cook everything so we'll have a roast & a ham...although I've got everyone wanting different things - grrrr. I don't even eat any of it being vegetarian!! Should be good though....Once I do it this year it's not my turn for another 3 years anyway!!
Better go organise some lunch! Chat later!
-
Well...yay yay yay and YAY....no more harness. That was the best words I have heard. Liv has to have an x-ray and review by the specialist in May 2009. Yippeeeeeeee
Adam and i were just talking about having to move stuff out of her cot now that shes free....mmmm should be interesting. I think teeth are coming soon (who knows) but shes rubbing her gums with her tounge all the time, especially in the past few days, her cheeks are red and her poo is runny, so thats a good hint ( oh and i can see them...but not feel them).
Jen, good luck with Beaus sleeping, it must be hard to have him whingy and tired and DH not giving you support...kick him onto the couch!!!!
Kaz, Olivia only gives me cuddles when shes tired, but not the same as earlier on. She is way too distracted to worry about me and cuddles.
Kris, hope Dylan had a one off, might have been the cheese. I am planning to give some tuna with vegies for tea tonight. I havent been too good on the finger food...probably coz i dont like mess...boy have I got a lot to learn:)
hey Tiffany, hope Charlies going well and its not too hot for you.
hellow to everyone else. Better go, I can hear Olivia rattling the cot, so no doubt shes stuck....
Chat soon
Love Melissa

:clap::dance::happyforyou:Congratulations Olivia!!!:happyforyou::dance::clap:

Wow Kaz...thats so big!!!! Thank you:)
-
Yeah Melissa - thats fantastic news!! I'm sure Olivia will be very relieved as well!! Woohoo!

Hi girls! It's been months and months since I've been here at BB, but I was hit with an urge to see how everybody was going :) I just spent the past two hours reading this thread, so I'm pretty well caught up
Melissa, CONGRATULATIONS! How wonderful to have Olivia out of her harness.
Kaz, Kris, Kel and Jensam, it's been great reading up on Patrick, Dylan and Louis, Lilly and Beau. Hopefully I can find more time to check in here on everybody.
Ben is doing great. His development has been all out of order - he's been sitting up without any support since before he was five months old, but has never rolled from back to front! He's starting to drag himself along the floor, but I don't see him crawling for a while yet, he has a big beer gut in the way
His latest things are hugs and big sloppy kisses and blowing raspberries on my neck and shoulder. He grabs hold of my ears or the back of my neck - it really is quite adorable...not that I'm biased!
Ben has also been a great sleeper since 5 months. I don't mean to tease anybody who is having sleeping problems with their little ones, I was still getting up for twice-nightly feeds until four months and once-nightly until five months, but then he just started sleeping for 12 or 13 hours straight. No dream-feeds or anything. I didn't realise how much I missed sleep until I got it back!
I'm doing well now too, although I've stacked on some weight. DH and I would like to TTC and are 'practicing' but I'm still breastfeeding so I haven't had AF return yet. We'll keep on practicing though and hopefully she won't make a return at all! I absolutely adore being a SAHM and would love to do it forever, but unless we win lotto (a bit hard since we don't even play) I'll have to go back to work in April :(
I'm going to make an effort to check in here at least once a week from now on, it has been really great 'catching up' with you all!
Take care, I hope you all have great nights tonight!
-
Hi Disgirl!!!! So good to hear from you!!!! I'm so glad you guys are doing so well!! Ben sounds just gorgeous!!!
Hope your practising works!!! I never got af back just fell p/g the month after I went off the pill so you just never know!!!
Would be great if you pop in more often!!
Chat later!

Disgorl, Good to see things are going well for you and Ben, hope to see you around more often.
Well we had our first night harness free and I dont know how you guys do it. mmmmm at 4am this morning olivia woke us up crying so Adam rushed to her. He found her upside down and at the other end of the cot and cold. Then hes telling me we should put perspex around the cot so he doesnt get her head stuck. I explained that thats why the slats were a certain width...ozzie standards....then after he put her back within 5 minutes she was crying again..my turn, down the other end, limb out.
So my question, after months of being bless with physical restraint (joke) what do we do? I dressed her in a bonds wondersuit, should I put a sleeping bag over the top? Is this just how it is from now on? Feel like I have a brand new bub again in this department. We ended up popping her in with us and she slept well...except I got the raw end of the deal and couldnt move or I would have fallen out of bed.
Hope everyones well
Love Melissa
-
Disgirl - great to hear from you. Are there any piccies of Ben? Do come around more often!
Mel - ummm yeah, that's what Pip does every nap. Not just at night :D You can get these thingys from Baby Buntings to put around the cot to stop them flinging arms out, I didn't bother, I just put him in his wondersuit and then a sleeping bag when it's cold. When it's warm, I don't bother with the sleeping bag. You may find she prefers sleeping on her tum - if I leave Pip asleep on his tum he tends not to move around so much. And I've put pics of him trying to escape on my gallery.
ETA - tried that custard Kris, he loves it. Gave it to him mixed with the applecustard jar he likes, then onto straight custard. Tonight will try it mixed with the banana rice cereal and see if that works.
-
Mel- Yup when we put Phoebe in her cot without her snuggle bed she manages to get into positions where I just stand there and think "how the hell did you get there". The snuggle bed keeps her contained and she seems to like the comfort of it. Many times I have gone in and she is hugging the side lol She used to sleep on her back but just lately the only way she will settle is on her side and she sleeps mostly like that a night.
-
Hi guys, remember me :) seems like forever since I've posted in here. Some times I find it sooo hard to keep up LOL...but I always read the posts.
We've just gotten back from a very nice Holiday, Coral Bay is the nicest beach I've ever been to. However due to my being extremely weak & jumping at the sight of anything that moves I didn't got snorkling, however I managed to see the amazing coral from a "Glass Bottom Boat" :D.
Melissa - Congrats to Olivia!!!
PMSL at her moving about in the cot, it can be frustrating but at the same time very funny. I check on Charlie each night before bed & think "that can't be comfortable". We had the prob with him getting his legs caught & I just use the Sleeping bag day & night & haven't had a prob since. I have a summer one, during the day he just has singlet underneath & at night a thin bonds suit & nothing else in the cot. Though he doesn't get cold it already 40 up here!!! ouch. We often have to get up to rescue Charlie when he's stuck on his tummy in the corner trying to burrow out LOL.
Kristie - Well done to Dlyan crawling etc, wow what a clever boy! No crawling here, but lots of rolling around....it's amazing how far a bubs can go just by rolling. Hope Dylan is more settled now.
Jen - How is it all going with the Sleeping, hope it's going well for you. Have you tried giving him the wrap to cuddle, this is what we did for Charlie when we started unwrapping him. It's a good comfort tool also as we have heaps of them, he now snuggles it...very cute.
Ooooh Charlie has just woken, I can hear him banging his dummy on the cot rails...that cracks me up. So quick update, he's now sitting up well...took a while but think that is due to his size. He was 9.2kg at 7months & is ahhh 78cm from memory - very long anyway, the girls in my mums group wanted to know if he needed a king size cot LOL. Ahh we've only just started with Breakfast, were only having lunch etc but have introduced this as we are now having a wake up each night. Not sure if it will work but hey, need to start some time. Charlie eats anything & everything...he also eats fairly chunky stuff - never like pureed. We've done, tuna, cheese, lots of vegies, chicken, lamb, weetbix, yoghurt...all going well. Getting very excited about Chrissy here, esp since we are heading home to see the family for the first time in 8months. Have bought & wrapped my Chrissy presents. Bought Charlie a Santa Sack & have just finished my Cards  I feel very organised. Though a little upset the Sleepsuit I bought Charlie for Chrissy eve doesn't fit due to his very long legs. Does anyone know where I can get Chrissy PJ's from? Ok, thought I'd get to reply to everyone, but someone just had a pathetic arvo nap & is cranky. Talk soon, take care everyone.

time for a new thread everyone
