    Hi girlies,

Mel, I bet it's a weight off now you have made the decision to stop bfing. I know it was for me when I was feeding Lil. All the time it takes to express, bf, bottlefeed, sterilise bottles.....I wouldn't have been able to do that this time, not with Lily too, she's too full on. And you just don't have the time with two.
Glad you had fun at the wiggles!! Poo about the fine though!

Kris, my MIL isn't too bad, and she was staying at my mums so I didn't have to deal with her all day! I think I would have gone a bit batty if I had though....she did stay here last night though and came here and helped me with folding the clothes and washed up the dishes after dinner, so maybe it wouldn't have been so bad having her here!
It's always the way with being on your own with the kids, I always have a tough nights when DH is at work on a night shift. The kids sense it!
Hope you had fun at the wiggles too!

Von, wow, another wiggles concert-goer! Hope you had fun too, lol!! Hope you got your nap and night out too.

Well, we are all sick again...Lily is sooo generous with her germs! I have had a nanna nap with Liam this arvo cause I felt so crappy. AF is back already and today was my first day and I was just feeling soo off, and with a cold, yuck!! I still feel like I could go to bed soon too, so thats probably good, I wont be in bed at midnight, only to wake with Lil at the crack of dawn for the day tomorrow, not to mention that I'll undoubtedly be up a thousand times otherwise!
We had DH's work picnic today. It was pretty nice, a beautiful day. Though Liam got a bit sunburnt. I didn't put sunscreen on him, thinking he's too little for it (did any of you use kids sunscreen on your bubs when they were so young? Lil was really sensitive to it at his age so I couldn't use it on her. I haven't tried on Liam thinking he'd be the same) and that we'd just sit in the shade. Which we did mostly, but I guess the few times he was out in the sun was enough for his delicate white white skin! Poor little monkey's head is burnt. His hair looks like a halo when he's in the light cause his head is so red, LOL! Lily had a ball and ran daddy ragged! She's sooo full on. My girlfriend said she didn't realise she was so bad until now. It was nice to be acknowledged and to have people know how much of a handful she is for me especially DH! It's so hard to run after her with Liam too now. I tell people she's 'energetic', 'busy' and 'inquisitive' (read non stop, into everything monster!!) and they're like 'oh yeah so is....' or 'Oh well she is at that age' they just don't understand!!
Anyway, I'm off, might go to bed....

Kel, that is NOT Liam in your ticker is it? Bugger about you all being sick again! I won't be one of those mum's who say "Yeah, Ben is like that too" because he totally isn't. Sure he's energetic, but he's not into everything, isn't a climber or anything like your little girl is. Think of all she must be learning though
I put sunscreen on Ben from day one. I used the Banana Boat (I think?) rollon that comes in a pink roll-on thingy. Ben has sensitive skin and gets eczma, but we never had a problem with that. DH and I are as white as they come and Ben is almost translucent so we didn't want to take any risks.

Von, how were the Wiggles, did you have a good time? Did you make it to the buffet?

Kris, my DH works night so I'm alone with Ben from midnight on most nights. It's true what Kel said, the kids sense it. Ben seems to go through rough patches waking up right when DH leaves, but gets over it in a couple of days.
Did you guys enjoy the Wiggles?

Mel, good on you for making a decision about breastfeeding. I bet you're all feeling much better about it now Has Becka's bottom cleared up totally? Is Olivia enjoying having more mummy time?

    Hi Jen and Kaz!

Us, we're doing better! Ben is OVER his allergy, although he still has dark circles under his eyes and has lost so much weight. We're going to have to work on building his little beer gut back up I think. We had my dad's family Chrissy party on Saturday and although it was nice, I didn't have as much fun as I've had in the past - it was far too hot (34) and I got heartburn from lunch. Ben got some good pressies though, but after he opened the first one and saw it was something to do with Thomas, he wasn't interested in the rest! Thank God I've got him some Thomas stuff for Christmas!

He's moved into his new room and his big bed and is doing really well. We cheated a bit for a few sleeps and I'd go in and lie down next to him, but last night and this morning he's gone down by himself! He even knows that that room is now his and if you tell him to go find something in his room he goes in there and not into his old room. For bum changes I tell him to go into the baby's room and he goes into his old room Couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother!!!

We're struggling a bit to get back into a routine though, his bedtime hasn't been earlier than 9pm since he's been sick. I'm hoping tonight will be much smoother and EARLIER.

I'm pooped after a morning at the park so I'm going to see if I can catch half an hour's sleep before Buster wakes up.

    Hey All,
Jen- hope your headache goes away quickly.
Von- good to hear from you. Thanks, am happy about my feeding decision and now we can get on with things!

Kel- yep, he is a spunk!
Mel- hope you get bens beer gut back up. Poor little mite.

Kris- how did you go at the Wiggles?

US- well am quickly typing before Olivia wakes up. Things are getting easier...at times, but am enjoying it now I swaped Bec over to FF. Shes now drinking most of her 120ml bottle and sleeping better too. She so awake now and has given me her first smile yesterday after I was tickling her face and gooing at her...she was probably laughing at me!!!! She over her birth weight now, 3.6kg. We have all our appointments made for the hip specialist next month, so am hoping its all good. Her foot is also much better and we just have to keep on with physio.

Olivia has been sick. Shes on ABs. Her tonsills were all pussy and she was running a temp. I think she also may be getting the back molars, shes dribbling and has her hand in her mouth a lot. She also started biting down on stuff again....
Yesterday morning she wet through her nappy, so I striped the cot and didnt make it up. So by the time her nap came around, I put her in her toddler bed and shut the door. Well....what a horrible arvo we had!!! I could hear her in there playing, so after an hour I went in there and she was laying on the floor playing with my stethascope. SHe had done a poo, so I changed her and put her back to bed. With a firm "NO" she got out, so I put her in the cot and shut the door. She screamed and screamed. I was so tired and hoping for a nap, I put her in my room and shut the doors. She kept screaming and did the whole tantrum thing. She almost pulled the basinett down too. Eventually she got onto my bed and fell asleep at 3...usually her wake up time. We were both asleep til 5pm and she was So grumpy. I put her to bed a bit later last night but she didnt sleep til about 930pm. Thats why shes asleep now!!! I really want to get her into her bed, but I just dont know how and I'm not going through that again. Might have to look at getting another cot for Rebecca......

Anyway, should go see if shes awake, dont fancy another wet through!

    Take care
    Love Melissa

    Good Morning....
Oh Mel, what a day/night you had! I dont have any advice regarding the big bed for Olivia, I havnt even contemplated that yet with Beau! How long can Becca stay in the bassinet for? 3 or 6months? I would let it go for a while if you can or maybe try and take a nap with Olivia on the big bed? (If the chance ever arises that is!) i guess anything out of her routine, including the cot, is going to end in tears - maybe Kris has some suggestions??? Glad you are feeling better now you are bottle feeding Becca and she has a full tummy and is happier too!
Dis - Hope Ben is feeling better now, how strange that he can have jam but not the yoghurt? Goes to show the stuff in the jam isnt real huh? How cute with him and the nappy changes in the bubbas room, what a cutie! Did you get an earlier night last night?
Kris - Isnt it always the way when you are on your own? Trust you to wrap gifts after! Hilarious!
Kel - Liam is a little cutie too! Sorry Lil is sick and infected you all. Hugs that Lil is such an adventurous little girl, I know people will try and say "at least she is inquisitive" or whatever, but we all know better! Cant imagine Beau on speed, which is what she sounds like And with Liam now too.....far out! Glad your MIL wasnt as bad as expected - at least she stayed elsewhere!
Kaz- Hi, hope Pip and yourself are doing better x
Von- Mmm xmas shopping was ok, never as good as you hope though when its so so so busy! Hope you have had a chance to get yours done solo too.... Nice to hear from you! Expressing for 13months? Is your medal in a cabinet???? Far out, you are one determined mumma!
Us - we are great, I am going through this real lovey period with Beau, he is smothering me with cuddles all the time and really clingy and finally learnt to say "Mum-mum" again! He is learning lots of new words and his favourite is "bread" atm! Just got back from the shop this morning, it was so busy, the lines in Kmart were 10 deep and it was 8:30am!!! He got a chocolate doughnut to ease the pain of queing....his sleeps are still ok in the day 1and a half to 2 and a half hours atm which is ok - he has been waking at 5:45am but as this house is so light in the morning!! Not complaining tho Mel, Kris and Kel....I know you are getting much less than any of us.
Ok I am getting pushed off the chair by someone....

Well, I finally made it back to the computer, feels like weeks, but it's only been a couple of days.

Jen, yup, just proves that there is basically NO fruit in baby yoghurt or jam. Oh well, we learned our lesson and know for sure that it's no strawberries for quite some time. He had a teeny bit of pineapple from a pizza last night and so far no ill effects so it looks like he might not be allergic to pineapple at least - we were told he might be since apparantly they are linked?!?!?
The shops here weren't too bad early yesterday. As we were leaving it was bedlam, but at 9am I managed to get a parents with prams spot near the front so it couldn't have been too bad! Hopefully I won't have to venture back to them until after Chrissy now.

Mel, I'm sorry, I have no advice on getting Liv to sleep in her toddler bed. I'm still dozing off with Ben most of the time, although he will go off when left alone by himself occassionally. He's really out of whack with his routine/schedule and is overtired a lot so I'm happy to keep doing it for the time being. Besides, we're going camping for a week next weekend so that will be the end of anything established between now and then!
So glad to hear you and Rebecca are much happier now!

OMG Kel, yes he is a little spunk! I thought for sure it couldn't be him. Far out time has gone so fast. I mean, I'm supposed to be having a baby in five weeks' time! Better give some serious thought to that hospital bag that still hasn't packed itself!

Us, well, we're all over the place. I've almost given up on any sort of routine. We're up until ridiculous times at night, sometimes waking late sometimes early. Late naps. But at least he's eating like a pig already and my MIL and SIL who saw him last night for the first time since he got sick, wouldn't believe that he lost weight The beer gut is back! I honestly don't know where he puts all the food....well I do, the dirty nappies are back as well

As I mentioned above, we're going camping after Chrissy and we're spending Chrissy Eve at the inlaws so I don't think I'll try too hard with getting the routine back in place. It'll all go out the window anyway. He's happy enough most of the time, just grumpy when he first wakes up (he sure is my son!). He's totally obsessed with "Goccer" which you might know as soccer and insists on playing a million times a day. Won't play with me if Daddy is home, I get ordered off the field He's also still obsessed with Thomas and Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. Not Mickey and Donald, but the girls for some reason! Thomas is proving useful in the morning as when it's on tele I duck in for a peaceful shower! Thank God he's getting a bunch of Thomas DVDs for Chrissy I'm sure they'll be worth their weight in gold once the bub is here.

Oh dear, I'm rambling, sorry about that. Feel like I've been deprived of computer time lately. Can you believe it's only a week til Chrissy? I can't wait!!!
