Hi girls. Still waiting here, but I'm not due for a couple of weeks so there is no real rush yet.
Mel, that sounds really good about Rebecca's hips! Yay!!!!
Kel, hasn't the heat been awful? We've been camped out inside in the aircon. Such a relief to have some cooler weather today.
Us? We're doing great. Ben has been a real angel the last week or so. He now reads himself to sleep each night - we just put him into bed with a book and leave the lamp on. Ten minutes later he's fast asleep. He does it for day naps too. He doesn't try to get up or anything, I feel so lucky! The transition to a big boy bed was practically non-existant!!! He isn't eating much of anything though and has actually vomited once today and once yesterday. I think it might be his molars coming through, but the vomiting has kinda thrown me. He seems happy enough though so we're not too concerned.
I had some major BH last night. Used the breast pump for a while last night for a bit of a hurry up, then for two hours I had some serious, serious cramps and tightenings. Was on the verge of thinking it might be the real thing when they eased off. Needed panadol for sleep though. I'm hoping that this means bub is at least thinking of making an appearance soon. Months and months back I picked the 12th as the date of arrival so it would totally freak me out if that happened
Hello There everybody.....
Been busy around here harnessing DH ehile he is still off so have been working on the house a lot! Planted and ripped out a whole garden bed out the front - massive old hibiscus in there from 1960! Looks much more contemporary now but a lot shorter so hopefully all the plants grow fast to give us some more privacy!
Dis- Not long to go now! Is the new addition going to be a swans member in under 4 days to beat Ben? How amazing is he with his Thomas book and trotting off to bed? How much milk do you give him at night time just wondering? I am glad its cooler too - we have jumped in the lake a few times to cool off while working....thats great about your BH, are you getting much colostrum when you pump?
Mell- Thats great you some time with just Becca, and excellent about Olivia's hips - good luck! How is your hair? I got my colour done yesterday too! How are olivia's day sleeps going now? Do you think she is ready to drop them altogether?
Kel- Wow, I didnt realise Lily was still on two day sleeps, far out! Maybe if she goes to one, her nights will improve too? Glad you are having some time just with Liam too- Good luck with the toilet training!
Us- Beau has taken to waking at 5am, and I cant keep my eyes open! I know Im not as bad off as you guys up 20 times a night but still!! Hope I am tired from being PG! Heres hoping! Went shopping with my SIL today but was dampened by a bit of a fight with DH last night about money so only used some gift vouchers to buy a dust buster - exciting!!! Apart from that, Beau is ok, said "mum mum and dada" last night which was a bit thrilling!!!
Anyone heard from Kris or Kaz lately?
OOOhh Jen- i hope youre tired too from being pregnant!!! Olivias day sleeps are still up the putt but i managed to get her into bed and asleep by 1pm today...after 30 minutes of crying. I hate leaving her to cry, but i can see how tired she is and she fights it. Yesterday she didnt have a sleep at all and was ok but grizzly at times. She slept from about 715pm til 730am...cant complain! I dont know if shes ready to drop them all together, but I hope not, I still like my time out during the day.
Mel- good luck with all those pains. Looking forward to your birth announcement. I wish I didnt have any problems with transferring Olivia into her big bed....oh its a night mare!
Kel- I hear you on the nightmare stuff...Olivia has been delightful!!! She is also telling us when shes going to the toilet, but hates sitting on the potty. Shes happy to sit on it and pretend to grunt, but gets up and does the real thing elsewhere!!!! Sounds really yuck with the heat too. Hope you have a good break from Lil. I had a good one from Olivia, got stacks of stuff done, but I did miss her and she changed in 2 days...more words, different facial expressions!!
Have been sneaking in to check up on Kristie in her 2005 babie buddies group. Sounds as though shes had a few unsettled times with Ethan but things are improving. Havent heard from Kaz or Von.
Rebeccas alright too, I think she had her growth spurt...finished the 2 hour feedings and 2 nights ago I got 4.5 hrours sleep straight. She had hr ultrasound for her hip, the ultrasound went ok yesterday, I asked loads of questions and because I had been there before with Olivia, I knew which questions to ask to satisfy me. Basically Rebecca has above 70% coverage on both hips which is fantastic, Olivia had only 23%, and they werent able to dislocate them either. The only concern that they have is that the left hip cup is a bit rounded and they are not sure if this is because it is still cartlidge. I have been booked in for another ultrasound in 6 weeks and we are seeing the orthopaed next Thursday to discuss the results. Am hoping for no treatment, but if we do have to going on those figures of coverage and the inabitlity to dislocate the hips, it will be minimal....I hope
Well, I have had a productive 2 hours since the girls have been asleep...cooked lasagna, brought in washing and sorted it out, put on another load, tided up and surfed the net. Better put the washing out and wake up Olivia. Take care all
I'm here!!! I'm sooo sorry!! It's been soo crazy around here...it's only the last 2 nights the Ethan has been going to sleep around 7-8pm ish and sleeping ok...prior to that he was up til around 10pm each night and I was just exhausted! Actually, I booked him in to the Chiro on Tues and since then he's been way more settled...
Boys are well - Dylan is now in his big bed since Wed night and is doing really well! He's so gorgeous he doesn't yell out for us he just hops up and knocks on the door to get our attention - LOL! In saying that though he hasn't been getting up a lot or anything. He's such a gorgeous little boy at the moment...Talking lots and learning new words all the time. He's very good at sharing and loves to feed us! LOL! Louis is well - so grown up I can't believe it! A lot of the time it's like we have another little adult around...he's so much wiser than his years...
Me...I'm well other than getting my 3rd cold since Ethans arrival - grrr.. I was able to have a nanna nap this arvo which was great - dh watched the kids - I so needed it! I was feeling quite drained for a while with Ethan but am coping much better now that he's settled - he was just crying all day the poor little thing and won't take a dummy and poor Louis and Dylan have been missing out on so much. They're such good big brothers though!
The big decision though is...no more bubbas for us! Dh has been very certain and after getting through this first 2 months I think I would lose my marbles if I had another one! LOL! I also feel very grateful for my 3 healthy boys and am looking forward to doing lots of fun stuff with them all which has been a bit difficult with another baby around...
Also...come next christmas it will mean I have my body back for the first time in nearly 5 years! (by the time I finish bfing!) No wonder I'm tired! LOL! I have an incentive to get back to 56kg (which is about 5-6kg to lose) which is a $1000 shopping spree! Woohoo - all for me - which I'm very excited about - normal clothes and normal underwear! LOL!
Anyway, enough of my dribble...
I'm sorry I don't have the energy to catch up on all the posts I've missed...I'll just go back a few and then try and keep up from now on! I often try and read when I'm up with Ethan so if you see some replies in the middle of the night it's cos I'mup after a feed! LOL!
Mel - Bugger on Olivias sleeps being a drama..I remember Louis going through a stage around the same age and it really was a battle...his were hit and miss from about 2yo and from about 2 1/2 it was rare for him to have them unless we're in the car (same as now...)
Hope everything stays well with Rebeccas hips...
JenSam - Ooh I hope your p/g!! Good luck!
Disgirl - Wow - I hope it all happens for you soon - how exciting!!!
Kel - I hope you get some more sleep soon!
Hi to anyone I've missed! Must go...a few things to do and then it's bed for me! Chat later!
Just a quick one from me to let you know nothing is happening here yet. I have had a stomach bug for the past two days. That explains Ben's vomiting too - since he was the one kind enough to pass it on to me. I've basically felt absolutely terrible for two days and it's even a struggle to sit here at the 'puter now.
I've had a few BH again, but haven't been using any kind of induction techniques, so that's about it. Now I'm more worried about getting healthy and energetic again before going into labour anyway!
Disgirl, sorry to hear about your tummy bug...the last thing you need at the moment...I'm sure labour will hold off until your all better..our bodies are pretty good at that stuff! Rest up!!
Had a shocker of a day with Ethan...he's definitely keeping us on our toes! I just hope he sleeps ok tonight...I still feel sick with a cold although dh let me have a sleep in this morning which was much appreciated.
Mel, glad to hear that R's hips are ok, hopefully that next appt will clear her completely. I can sympathise on the sleep issues, still having them here too. I've gotten used to functioning on under 5hrs broken sleep. DH is home for a few days so I will get to have a bit of a break, yay!
Dis, we lived in the aircon for a few days too. And went to mums for a swim. But Lil is scared of the pool. She's never been swimming in a big body of water becasue of her ear problems, so we are going to have to get her used to it now! She does love the water though so that's a good thing.
We need to transition Lily to her bed. We've had it for a few months now but are yet to try her out in it on her own. She sleeps in it with DH sometimes during the arvo, but not by herself yet. I was trying to wait til her sleep issues were over but I'm thinking they're NEVER going to be over!
I hope you're well and that things are stirring for you! And that you're feeling better.
Jen, so are you pg, are you, are you, huh, huh?????? Hehehe, I just found out a good friend of mine is 11wks pg, I'm so excited for her. I have to live vicariously now, cause DH has said no more kidlets... a good and bad thing I guess, I'm torn if I want another or to just get on with things and be happy with the family unit we have now. Not that I'm not happy! But ykwim!!
Yeah, Lil stil has 2 day sleeps, but they're only about 1hr each. I tried for a few days to give her only one day sleep, but it seemed to make everything worse, cause then she only had one one hour sleep. When she has the two she gets at least 2hrs even though it's broken up, kwim. So we're back to the 2 day sleeps. She isn't TOOOO bad at night the past couple of nights, maybe 2-3 wakes a night, sometimes only once. But it goes in waves.....Hope B's waking later, but I can symapthise with 5am wake ups, they absolutely SUCK!!
Kris, I hope Ethan has settled for you.
It's kinda sad when you decide on no more kids huh? I am sort of coming to terms with it. And I can see where my DH is coming from, but the urge to have more is so hard to quiet down! I can only imagine how hard it will be in a year or two when I have the feeling coming back already to have more....But I hear you on the longing to have your body back too! I can't wait to be able to do what I want when I want, like having more than one drink!
We're doing ok. Lily is such a character. She always doing something silly be it on purpose to make us laugh or just something that she discovers she can do....she's such a funny thing! I am starting the toilet training tomorrow. DH is home so it will make life a bit easier. Ok should go to bed, it's almost midnight! I had a 2hr nap this arvo with Liam that's why I'm still up....
