Oh yeah I saw that mel- how exciting. I should go for a sleep nut am a little anxious...just waiting. Knowing my luck, it will be a few weeks away!!!
I'm still here...doh!!!!
with Olivia I had her the next day after loosing my plug...how long do you think I will have to wait??? Oh I'm getting impatient/nervous/excited.
Better go...Olivias having issues with shoes!!!!
Hi!
Just a quick one from me...as you can imagine I don't have much time for anything at the moment! LOL!
Ethans going really well though and is feeding and sleeping quite well...his unsettled time is overnight though at the moment so haven't been getting much sleep...hopefully that will settle soon! Dh is home though and being a huge help!
The boys are going well and are very excited to have a baby brother...They haven't had much time with him as he's usually feeding/sleeping so it's always exciting when he's up and they can get in his face - LOL!
Mel - Good luck - hope bubs arrives somewhat soon for you!
Hi to eveyrone else - sorry I don't have time for personals...will endeavour to keep up as best I can! Hope you're all well!
Chat later!
Mel, that's exciting your body is getting ready for bubs arrival, Ihate to be a dampener on things, but I lost my plug for weeks, both times. Not just little bits, big yucky bits and sometimes bloody. My doula said it replenishes so you can lose it for a while....sorry!! I hope she comes soon for you though.
Kris, I can't believe you've got it together enough to be posting at all, never mind personals! Glad to hear things are good.
Mel, I'm sorry you are still around  Take Liv to the park and run around after her for a while - that might get things moving :)
Kris, you're a champ finding time to come online to talk to us all with three young boys - including a very new newborn! Glad to hear all is going well.
Kel, I can't believe Liam is almost three months old?!?! Where has the time gone?
I'm doing much better today. Had a bad day yesterday with my back playing up, but today is much better. Bub hasn't tried to escape too much which makes a difference too. He/she is having a quieter day. I also got a lovely big send-off to work from Ben with lots and lots of kisses and cuddles and then blown kisses and waves. Some days I'm lucky to get one, but today he was feeling extra smoochy! :)
Hey Kristie- glad to hear things are ok. He looks beautiful. Hope he settles through the night for you real soon.
Kel- really??? Oh no! Well I actually havent had much at all in the plug department today and have just got lower back pain, so am thinking yes it might be a few more weeks. Oh well, what do you do hey!
Mel- glad your day is better. Hope youre back doesnt play up too much. Isnt it cute when they give you loads of lovin!!!
Hi!
Have JenSam or Kaz been on for a while?? Seems quiet in here...
Not much from me...just busy with the boys! All going well though...Ethans still basically sleeping with me overnight but in his basinette through the day...he's a very placid little thing and often the older 2 are keeping us more busy than he is! LOL!
Off to bed after his next feed...I'm sooo tired and after doing food shopping and tidying up today my body aches...overdone I think! Chat later...
OMG. you went food shopping at 4 days old? omg. Omg.
Mel - goodluck! I never had a show :(
Us - well nothing compared to you guys! Only thing really is that we finally started 5-days/week childcare, (thank god not ABC) so I'm now fully full-time @ work. Somehow he knew on Monday, and cried when I left him. But we've been makign and effort for "quality time" which means I'm not getting housework done. Doh.
Dream pretty all.
Kaz, bugger the housework. It'll wait for you forever - unfortunately. DH and I just made sure we had dishes done, food cooked and clothes cleaned and the rest could all wait for a quick cleanup each weekend. Otherwise you will be totally buggered working full time as well.
Kris, I really am starting to think that you are Superwoman?!?! Cleaning up and grocery shopping with Liam only being 4 days old?!?! Superwoman or a crazy woman ;) No wonder you were knackered! Glad you got a placid bub - let's hope it stays that way.
Mel, it really could be anytime. I'm worried because I'm convinced this bub is coming early by at least a week. I'm actually predicing an arrival on Jan 12th, even though I'm not due until the 23rd. Don't know why, but it's a strong feeling. Imagine if I go over?!?! I'll be going nuts!
I had a day off yesterday. I was so totally and utterly exhausted that it was impossible for me to do anything. I could barely get off the lounge. I think two days at work in a row is my limit so I'm going to make sure I only do that for the next few weeks. I have next Friday off, so I guess next week I'll only be working three days - woohoo! Then it's onto my final week. Wow. Not so bad after all. I'm really going to miss the full pays though :(
Ben has been good most of the time, but he's started throwing tantrums. They are the most bizarre things!!! He will either put his head on the floor (very funny when he's standing with his bottom in the air) or go over to a wall or something and headbutt it! Strange child! If you are holding him, he'll grab hold of his face. I have a great big scratch from one on Tuesday night - little bugger! Luckily, he only chucks them when he's super-tired, so only a couple a week, but they're not fun :( I guess I can't complain too much though, they only last about 30 seconds....I've seen some of the bubs from Mothers Group and I'd go mental if I had to put up with some of those! I know I use to throw whoppers when I was a kid, so I'm glad he hasn't inherited that!!!!
Hi girls,
I have tried to start this post so many times over the past few days and every time I have been interrupted by one or the other baby! DH has token them out for a quick walk (yay!) so I have some time to do it....mind you I should be packing away the blocks strewn across the floor or preparing dinner, but eh, what can you do, LOL!!!
Kris glad to hear you are well. I found that Lil kept me busier than Liam in the first few weeks too, though now they are about the same! And I hope you are resting, you did just give birth you know! Normally you'd still be in hosy til day 3 or 4!
Kaz, I hope pip has settled again. They are such sensitive little things aren't they, and sense everything we feel. Lily does with me too. I hope working full time is going well too. I dread when I have to go back full time, hopefully it won't be for a long time!
DG, I was feeling really tired at the end of my pg with Liam too. I really felt it with him. I think cause he was so huge and I was so unfit and overweight (still am, LOL!!). It's great that you can relax though. You won't be soon, LOL!
You're lucky that Ben is only just starting to throw tantys, Lil's been doing them for ages! Little miss that she is. She's starting to smack me too....not that I smack her often, but I do occaisionally and well, now I see why I never wanted to! Monkey see, monkey do.... Terrible twos here we come.....oh god can she get worse???????
Hi Jen, and anyone else I've missed.....
Us we've been ok. I have had a few bad days, just feeling bleugh. A bit down in the dumps and really unmotivated and kinda stretched, iykwim. But there have been good days too and the kids are pretty good. Though as I said, Lil feels when I'm not feeling good and acts accordingly, ie, bratty! Nothing too interesting going on. I'm yet to get Lil's (or Liam's!) immunisations done. Though I'm not worried about Lily's cause it's her last ones for ages, so there's time to recover, etc, but Liam's I HAVE to do soon!
Ok, gonna go and be domestic....I hope everyone else is well!
Hey All,
Kel- you sound like youre doing well. Good you have a spare moment to yourself.
Dis- yep I am absolutely buggered and over it.
Sorry this post is not very good...am out the back and Olivia has just climbed up the slide...slipped down and I just ran...shes ok..me, well thats a different story. My feet are swollen and I am still getting pains at night, so ot sleeping.
olivia is now playing with the laptop so will leave it there, take care all
love melissa
oh dear Mel, are you OK?
Kel - Pip has the same kind of tanties. We had a beauty at the Zoo, full on lying on stomach and kicking!
 Pip is walking around the room with a dog bowl as a shoe. Now he's brought the esky into the living room and is sittiing on it! He's also having a conversation with DH but I can't undertand either of them! Although the words eye-ore seem to play a large part!
night all
Lol Kaz- yep, just not too good at running at the moment!!!! We only just got the swing set last week and she climbs up both ways...no wonder I am going grey!!!
Olivia was in the dog bowl too this evening. She puts the food bowl in and then her bath toys...yuck and then splashes the water all over her. She was soggy. So i ran a bath for her and i, which was lovely, except the fact shes interested in my "giny" and "boobies" and tries to poke at them!!! Then she was climbing over my belly. then I couldnt get out of the bath coz I am so huge. Its hilerious.
Anyway I hope I get a better sleep tonight, but am having those pains again already.....come baby come!!!
LOL Mel, oh the memories!!! I know how you feel. Lily likes my 'oobies' too especially since I've been bfing Liam. And she likes to hold Liam and 'bf' him now too. It is too too cute! She puuls her top up and holds her hands out to hold him with her top under her chin. Ugh, I could eat her sometimes!
Kel, you should get that on video :) Love the ticker design!
Hi girls,
Wow we've been quiet in here lately! I guess everyone is busy with work and kids!
Mel, it's so scary when they do things like that huh? I was always scared Lil would do something silly when I was pg and I wouldn't be able to get to her in time.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good either. I hope you're feeling a bit better.
Kaz, yeah, I've tried to catch her on my phone camera, but I haven't been able to yet. And thanks I like my ticker too!! LOL!
Well we are doing pretty well the past few days. Lil and Liam have both been good, though Lily had an atrocious night sleep last night, she was up more than 5times. I lost count after that. Thankfully DH was home to help out and got up with Lily at 5am when she was up for the day, ugh! Liam's waking 3hrly overnight, which would be fine if I wasn't up with Lil every other hour! Sleep is a rare thing in our house these days! But other than that everyone is good. A quiet weekend, maybe going to a friends for a bbq tomorrow, but that's it.
Hope you are all well, and have a great weekend.
Hi!
Just a quick one! Things are going really well here! Ethans been such a good bubba...Louis and Dylan are a bit feral though - LOL! He's been sleeping in his bassinette now but is taking a bit more to settle down through the day - loves his cuddles with his mummy - might have to pull out the dummy soon!
We've had a great week - lots of shopping stuff - our couch got delivered on Thursday and dh picked up my treadmill yesterday - not that I've used it properly yet! We've had quite a few visitors which has been nice but have had a quiet day today...
Kaz - Wow at being full time now - that must be tiring - although I suppose you nearly were before! Thats great you're getting to spend time together though - bugger the housework - LOL! Pips sounds gorgeous - don't you love it when they speak in gobbledygook! It's such a great age - they love entertaining and acting like little clowns - anything for a laugh!
Disgirl - Thats great you don't have much work left - good for you taking a day off! Dylan throws tantrums as well...he just usually screams and says "no" to us (about everything these days! LOL) He also pouts and stomps off with his head looking down at the ground... I can't help but laugh when he does that though...
Kel - Hehe - terrible 2's??? Try 3's - Louis is so feral at the moment and answers back to everything...I think this by far has been worse than 2! But hopefully it will be a different story for Lily!!!
How cute with her trying to bf...
Hope you get some sleep soon! Wow at Liam still going 3h overnight...hopefully he'll stretch out his feeds soon...it can be so draining...does he have quick ones now? It's nice when you can get them fed and back down in 20min! Ethan's usually take about 30-45min now depending on how long to settle him if he's got wind...
Mel - Big hugs...hope you get some rest in...running is so not great when your p/g!!! Sounds like a fun bath!!
Jen - where are you?
Ok..better go and get some dinner organised! Chat later!
Yeah where is Jen....she hasnt been around for ages. Hope shes ok.
Kel- what a bugger about the sleep. Liam is cute in your ticker. Doesnt seem to have as much hair as Lil.
Kris- glad you are settling in and that Ethan is doing well. Shame the the other boys are doing the tanties.
Me- well I have had an emotional day, unfortunately I have a few more tears to cry. I'm bored, sick of waiting, Olivia wants me to play all the time and I dont have the energy and I feel bad, dh is working on that stupid car of his again and we never see him, today Olivia wouldnt go to sleep, then when I wound down we got visitors and the phone rang, dh didnt want what i was cooking for dinner and most of all....this baby isnt here yet!!!!! OOhhh I feel lighter already!!!!
The fun part of the day was i took Olivia down to the beach coz i was so bored, so we spent an hour or so there. Big tanties in the car coz she didnt want to go home. Its so hard to get a toddler in the car seat when they arch their backs and kick!!!
Not having any movement on the birthing front, so am just waiting.
Sorry for the me post...... but it feels good. Oh and fortunately I got money back on my tax, plus child care rebate and immunisation rebate and family tax benifit a...so I am officially loaded, which means more that $300 in my account! So I got some bassinette sheets and bonds breastfeeding singlets....and I might jump on ebay and shop some more!!!!
Well I can smell dinner cooking:) Thanks for listening
Big hugs Mel! I don't blame you for being emotional! Whats with guys and their cars/computers etc?? Drives me crazy as well! Dh doesn't have a project car just yet but he's been scouring ebay for one...I dread the day when he gets it!
Yeah at the refunds!! Always feels good - and kind of feels like "free" money even though you've already paid for it - LOL!
I'm sure bubs will arrive soon...
Well, kids are all in bed and house is tidy so I may have an hour or two of peace before Ethan wakes for a feed!
Geez, my Saturday nights are exciting! LOL! Chat later!
OMG!!!!!!!!!
My internet has been down for three weeks!
I just glimpsed an Ethan ticker - woah! I have to catch up - I am going backwards to read now!!!!!! AGGGRRRHHH i missed it!
LOL Jen, glad to hear things are ok, we were getting worried!
Hi Jen! Glad to hear from you! What a bugger you've been without a computer!
Look forward to catching up with you...
Just fed Ethan I'm off to bed...I'm sooo tired................
Wow Kris! Congratulations! You are officially the superest super mum of them all! And the way you announced it, so casual. You sound like you are doing so well, you are amazing. Congrats on your beautiful three little men and new little Ethan. Take it easy on the housework huh? Put us to shame you will!
Yeah thanks for the concern guys! My laptop fell and my wireless usb key thingi bent and its taken yonks to get a replacement so it was sudden and painful for me!! DH just said "Good to be back online? Ebay must have missed you!" Cheeky!
Kel - You sound to be doing well, other than Lil's disturbed sleeping tho, how cute with the bfing demo she does? That is ridiculously cute. Thats awesome your bfing is going well this time around tho.
Mel - Oh as I read thru I was hoping to read your announcement too. Not long yet lovely. You poor thing with DH fiddling around with his car, he probably knows he wont get too many opportunities soon. fingers and toes crossed for you!
Dis - LOL on your little chatty cathy there!I hear you on the tantrums too - Beau says "No no non noononononoon !" - Bens sound funny after the fact I am sure. You rest up and take good use of the sick leave girl!
Us - Just got back tonight from staying in the city and working last night, was horrible, I stayed at the house of the lady I worked for in her sons bed, and did not sleep one wink, being overtired and with anxiety, then had to be on a ladder at 7am again dressing Xmas windows. So so so tired now but had to come on here!!! Beau is great, I missed him enormously just for two days, Dh had a hard time putting him down last night as he wanted me. Aside from that, he is spitiing out new words all the time and is in love with all his toys and cuddles and loves sitting at the dining table on the normal chairs now for all his meals - I have put the high chair in the garage! Just bought him some aviator sunnies which I cant wait to try on him tomorrow - I am sad but all his Xmas gifts he has basically got already as I cant wait. Such a loser I am!
Hi to Von and Kaz too
Ok glad to be back!
Hi!
Jen - Thanks! Bugger about work...I can only imagine how much you would have missed your little boy! How gorgeous that he sits at the big table now! Dylan eats some snacks there but he likes to hop off and run around eating his food so it's the high chair for now until Ethan needs it! The sunnies sound gorgeous! LOl at giving Beau all his chrissy pressies already!! Mine are still on layby - better sort that out soon I suppose...
Last night was a bit harder, Ethan seemed to want to wake every 2 hours for a feed so not much sleep had...Cheeky bugger...Not sure I'll get a nap in today either as BIL and kids are coming around (and dh organised for them to come right at Dylans nap time - Soooo silly!) and then we're out to dinner for Dads b'day...Plus I have to do the deliveries that I was meant to do last week when Ethan arrived! Oh well...tomorrow should be quiet...
Hope you enjoy your Sunday's! Chat later!
HEy all...this might be quick depending on Olivia!!!!
Jen- glad it was your internet playing up and nothing else. I would mis Olivia too spening time away. Sounds like fun dressing up xmas windows.
Kris- sorry you had a bad night, hope you get some sleep today.
Kel- i forgot to say how funny Lil is with her feeding!@!! Today Olivia and I got her baby doll and put a nappy on it and the smallest jump suit. She patted it on the back then we put her in the bassinette...Olivia wanted to jump in there too!!!
Well I had a bad night again last night, I reckon I was awake from around midnight with these pains. Olivia was also awake 3 times, so I decided to get up just before 6am. At leadt dh and Olivia slept til 730...yay me time!!! After yesterdays effort of me in tears, I was really looking forward to sleep...oh well. I even cried when dh beat me at connect 4!!!
Today we are going to Southland....I am thinking of getting a twin stroller, or a buggy board, not sure but probably the stroller. We might go and have a look at fridges too and visit my folks. DH wants to spend the day with us.....I think he got my stinky mood yesterday!!!
Ok well have a good one, chat soon love melissa
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1518224
Hope Mel got her stroller!!!!!
Congratulations Mel!!! I just got the message as well! How exciting!!
I said it before but I'll say it again...
:dance:WOOOHOOOOO Mel!!! Welcome to the world Rebecca!!
Beautiful name too hun. I hope all went well.
Wow! Congratulations Mel on the long awaited arrival of your new beautiful daughter!
Hope you are all ok and blissing out on your new addition
Hi ladies,
How are you all...how were your weekends??
Ours was fairly quiet. Just the usual stuff, grocery shopping, cleaning, bbq at a friends house. They threw DH a little birthday party for his 30th. It was sooo lovely and thoughtful. We couldn't afford to do anything much for either of our 30th birthdays (which are only about 6wks apart). So they threw him a little party. I didn't know anything about it either and we were the last ones there. They did the whole 'surprise' thing and all! He got a footy geurnsey (sp??) and a CD. I must admit I am a little jealous that he has friends that are so thoughtful. I was upset when we got home, but didn't want to spoil his night, he was so happy about it. I don't blame him! I didn't get anything special for my 30th bday (woe is me!!). Mind you I did just have a baby 10days before....
Ok enough with the poor me!
We just went out down the street to get something to make for lunch, and to get some 'aahm' (ham) for Lily. (She loves a big slice of ham, 1/2 a small tin of 4 bean mix, chopped up cucumber and 1/2 a small tin of corn for lunch). She made me so proud, going up and down the stairs by herself! She's so clever!!
Jen, yeah I'm pretty proud to say that we've been bfing for 3mths now! And it has been exclusive since we left hospital, so I'm pretty chuffed with myself!
How exciting to be dressing christmas windows! Must make things prety fastive feeling for you!
Kris, I hope Ethan settled for you after his unsettled day. I must say though, that you really seem to take the hard times well. You always seem happy and positive about things. I always feel like s**t after a tough night or a day of screaming kids and I am sooo grumpy for it. I just can't be positive about it! And either DH or Lily usually cop the brunt of it :( .
Kaz, I see you have a new ticker, very cute, Pip has grown so much from your last ticker pic!
Ok someone is stirring from their sleep, must go....
Oh, first of all a big CONGRATULATIONS to Mel, her DH and Olivia on their new arrival :D
Wow, that's so cool...although it means I'm next! Yikes! I better get my act together.
Jen! Yay, you're back! Glad to hear it was only your internet playing up and nothing else.
Kel, How cute is Lil trying to bf?!?! Definitely get it on video :) Glad to hear that things are going better with sleep in your house.
Kaz, how's full time work treating you?
Kris, aka supermum :) I can't believe how much you're out and about doing with three kids in tow! I don't think I'll leave the house for six months once Twobob is here. These days I can barely get myself organised and it's just me and Ben!!!
Me? I've had a shocker. I managed to tear all the ligaments in my little toe by kicking my stupid BIL's cricket bag (left in the middle of the hallway at mum's - I can't see past my belly!!!). The doc said it would have been better if I'd broken it as it would have healed faster and less painfully :( I also have shingles which is not a pleasant experience. Ben is also waking up for THREE HOURS in the middle of the night!!!! Far out! So I'm exhausted beyond belief. My GP is worried about pre-natal depression but I think that's going a bit far! Next Friday is officially my last day at work and I'm counting down big time. I figure that I'll work about four of my remaining 8 scheduled days  Maybe only three
Apart from that - all is well  Ben keeps us laughing (except between 1am and 4am!) and repeats EVERYTHING we say. No more even 'light' swear words like bum for us!
Ooh, babies everywhere in here right now!!! :)
Good rainy morning!
LOL Dis at not saying 'bum' around Ben! Its Beau's fav word! Everytime I pick up the nappy wipes box he says "bum" and grabs his nappy! What a bugger with your toe! Silly boys and their sporting equipment! Cant beleive Ben is waking for 3hrs - you poor thing, you must be exhausted! Is he sleeping a lot in the day? I think wait and see with PND - I mean it is "post natal" you cant guess how you are going to feel or your GP for that matter. For about 6months after B was born DH and I were at such odds with each other and DH came out the other day and said he thinks he had it. I think we both did to be honest. We had a tough birth and both changed long term jobs at the same time. We just werent "us" and for him to come out and say it out of the blue - woah! We have talked about what is going to happen when we have another bub and hope we can stick together more for the next one. Things are back to great again now, at least we can discuss that time and talk about what went wrong.
Kel - Wow at Lily up and down the stairs on her own - what a clever girl! I think you should be super chuffed with yourself and the bf'ing - you are doing so well! Must be so great not to have to worry with bottles and formula and all that junk! Not to mention the benefits for Liam. Thats lovely that your Dh's friends are so thoughtful- I dont blame you for being a teensy bit jealous! Its tough when those things like b'days and m'days get forgotten about when a new bubba comes and its all hospitals and no sleep etc - thats when we need spoiling the most! I have asked DH for something super girly for Xmas - no DVD's or electronic or house stuff - something just for ME!! A nice card even or a letter if money is tight means a lot too - maybe drop some hints?
Us - Stinky rain!! Its so hard keeping B indoors! I have looked everywhere for gumboots too for him and no luck. Beau has started saying "again" or "gen" when we finish a book which is adorable! I cant deny him! So I end up reading the same book 4times over! He stirred at about 4:30 this morning but settled himself - he ate a lot of ham and chorizo yesterday so I think that might be the culprit! The only thing is his day sleeps are so so short atm - only between 45 and 1hr 15min - he is still sleeping nearly 12 hrs at night so I guess I cant complain - but it means there is so much more of the day to fill!!! How are everyone elses day sleeps?
Ok better go and get off the computer!
Yay! Ben slept through the night last night! I feel like a new woman today :)
Jen, the doc said PRE-natal depression, but I'm not worried at all really. I think the doc just caught me on a bad day. Seriously: shingles, busted toe and no sleep - what did he expect?!?!?! I laugh at Ben just as often as always and having the light at the end of the work tunnel next week has really cheered me up!!!! :)
Usually Ben sleeps 3-4hrs during the day, but only at home. When he's out or at mum's it's more like two hours. He only sleeps 9 or 10 at night (generally speaking, this week is not a good example!!!) though because we have to leave the house at 6am. I'm hoping to break him of that habit when I finish up next week :)
I'm off to have a lovely, non sleep-deprived day!
Hello all...
Cant blame anyone for it being quiet in here - seeing as though half of us have a new bubs to look after! Hope you and your bundles are well, Mel, Kris and Kel x
I guess pre - natal makes a lot more sense Dis, I think you're right tho - you certainly had some things to be upset about! Sometimes it just takes that "outsider" to ask how you are too? I always loose it then! Wow Ben has really long day sleeps! I cant complain tho, Beau is in bed by 7pm most nights and up at 6am, we really enjoy the time in the evenings together too so I would rather have that than a big day sleep anyway. Speaking of - he just wont go down for his today - so unlike him.
Anyway best go and fold washing.
How werid is the weather today? Raining one minute - boiling hot the next?!
Just saying hello...got home not long ago and got to get Rebecca up coz my boobies are HUGE! my milks just come in and shes not a great feeder....oh well. Will chat soon, hope you are all well:)
Yay Mel, glad to see you are home and well. Urgh, the milk coming in! I hated that. I didn't sleep the night that happened because my boobs were like rockmelons - in size and hardness! How are you all doing?
Jen, yep, crazy long day sleeps for us. I too would prefer a longer night sleep, but with me working fulltime it just doesn't allow it. I'm hoping it might change a bit when I'm home all the time.
The weather is nuts! It's SO humid outside and windy too. Looking out my window right now it looks like that's it for the rain for a while.
I just got back from a lovely lunch and stopped at my fave cake shop for an afternoon treat. Yummo. The only problem is waiting to eat it until a more suitable afternoon tea time!!!!
Ben was up again last night, but DH got up to watch the soccer so he took care of him before he went to work. Good timing I say. DH said that he thinks he had a tummy ache because he gave him a lovely stinky nappy. I don't mind so much when he wakes up for a reason, it's when he wakes up and wants to play at 1am that it's a problem!
Anyway, all well here today. One week left of work (I have tomorrow off for mw appt). I've told them they can expect me for a max of three days next week too :)
HEllo, tis quiet in here, although i dont expect that i will be able to get on every day several times a day from now on!!!! Wow life is busy and I have only been home just over a day!!! Trying to organise Olivia and Rebecca in the morning was a nightmare, and dh was back at work already so i think i managed well. Olivia did smake Rebecca in the head for me not giving her bottle over. Then she started smaking herself in her head when I saind not to smack the baby...oh the joys!!! But Olivia is so cuddly with her and wants to give her loads of kisses and cuddles..although the cuddles are more like...lets lay on rebecca!!!!
My milk is in I have huge rockmelons and unfortunately Rebecca is still not attatching well...both with or without the nipple shield. I have booked myself in for the lactaion clinic on thursday so I hope that helps. I do thinkshe will be able to get there...just slowly. So for now its...try with the boob then top up with ebm. Not my ideal, but I have to do it.
I have managed to clean the kitchen tonight and put the food into the new fridge. The rest of the house looks like a bomb hit it. And i should do some washing coz we'll have no clothes.
Ok, Im feeling tired and I know the little one is due for a feed so take care all
Mel, I think you're doing great to even be thinking about washing and doing the fridge. DH back at work already?!?! That's no good!
Good luck with the bfing, hopefullly the LC will be able to help out.
We had a couple of fantastic nights where Ben slept for 11hrs and 10hrs but last night (when DH went back to work after his weekend) he was up for 3.5hrs! It's crazy. He's been a real daddy's boy the past week or so too so I think he sensed that DH had gone and woke up at 12:30am! At least after this week I don't have to worry about staying awake at work! I miss my afternoon naps!
Far out Mel I agree with Dis, you are doing incredibly well! I think you should just exist in a bubble for at least a month with a newborn - what better excuse have you ever got for not doing housework but then? Olivia sounds really cute with Rebecca (other than the smothering of course!) but kisses and cuddles sound lovely! Hope the bf'ing improves - try to stay calm and relax, i always struggled with that!
Dis - Sorry Ben's sleeping is so irratic for you - at least work is almost over and you can take it a bit easier if you can. I am sure Ben's sleeps will work out once you are home full time and dont have to wake him in the morning. I am sure he is going to miss his Nanna caring for him too - she sounds amazing with him! So patient! An afternoon nap sounds really good today.....
Us - we are ok - Dh and my BIL got a boat on Saturday so DH was mia on the lake all weekend - he is going away for a golf weekend next Saturday/Sun too - I am feeling a bit low and sorry for myself today - a little bit lonely actually. I am pretty isolated with no car here and although there are lots of mums and bubs around here, whenever we go to the park its deserted! How on earth am I supposed to meet any of them? Stalk? He he! You know when the days turn into weeks and you only chat to an 18 month old??? Ok sorry rant over:redface:....Beau is sitting watching tele at the dining table eating his cheese and ham (addicted!!!) so i better go check on him.
Take care! Hope everyone is doing well.....x
Jen, can you contact your local council or Mother and Child Nurse to see if there are any playgroups or Mothers Groups? I was really lucky with my Mother's Group and we still see each other regularily - with and without the kids - they're a great support.
I wish Ben was addicted to Ham and cheese, actually - no I don't because then I'd want some  With him it's carrots of all things. Last night all he had for dinner was carrots. Odd child. Baked dinner and all he wants is bloody carrots!!!
He is SO going to miss his Nan and my sister. Mum has vowed to come over at least once a week though, and I know she'll spend a lot of time with us when the new bub arrives too - and she'll spend that time with Ben more than the bub methinks. I'll also be going over there quite often for a break! She comments daily how much she's going to miss her little man. It's going to be hard for both of them :(
