Hey girls....been on a cleaning mission again!!! The house looks half decent! I am so an@l about housework, if its not tidy i get flusted. Feeling much better now i can see the bench tops!
Mel- hopefully ben will sort his sleep out when your home for good. Enjoy your last week and hope you get loads of nanna naps in,
Jen- nI hear you about the loniness i feel that too sometimes especially when dh is out and about doing things he enjoys and even working. Hope you meet some nice people.
Well dh was ack at work the day after I got home, so managing well. Olivia was terrible on Saturday, she was banging her head on the floors hitting herself, the baby, us. She seems to have settled though and today we went to the shops. Definately need a twin pram though!!! Rebecca is doing better, she lost loads of weight over the weekend and they were thinking of readmitting her, but I stuck to 3 hrly feeds plus tops ups and she managed to gain 70gms over night. She will get weighd tomorrow again and hopefully put more on. My nipples are sore, but it seems that bf is getting better. Looking forward to lc on thursday. I really want to be able to bfeed this time and to be able to do it without xpressing or using the nipple sheild.
Ok, daddy has Becca..who is wide eyed and hungry
take care
Love melissa
-
good luck with the feeding Mel, that's a good weight gain overnight, hope it keeps up! Can't believe a) Adam back at work with no babymoon b) you're cleaning c) you didn't get the twin pram! MissyMoo sounds cute as, the headbanging's annoying! we get it here too (plus biting)
Jen - I know what you mean with the lonliness too hun. Try the local library for tot times before the school holidays start ..
DG - yay on upcoming naps! Lucky Ben, sounds like he's enjoying himself, carrots and all. Pip won't eat stuff at the moment, but will always eat his fruit! If only DH would give him fresh fruit, instead of tinned ....
Anyhows, tomorrow I'm seeing the doc and he;ll let us know if its OK to start TTC! Pip's growing so much, they're all getting such big kiddies!
Mel, Kris - I need baby snuggles, when can I come visit!
-
Hi Girls!
Thanks for the loneliness support - dont feel like such a looser!
Yay good news for me - we just walked up to the local church (its baptist so I was a bit scared at first that it would be church goers only, as we are non-religous) and met a lovely lady in the car park that runs the playgroup! Its twice a week and about 200m from our house!!! Yay yay yay! Might actually meet some mums - so excited - am mentally picking out Beau's outfit as we speak! And she said its mostly mums that arent in the church. I also just emailed DH a list of the strollers I like that have one hand fold so we can get on the bus easier without B freaking out that he cant see me while I collapse the pram! Hopefully he will feel inspired and go and get one! Why are all the cool ones so incredibly expensive?
Mel - Even though you are a bit weird about the cleaning - I hear you, I get funny too if the house isnt magazine ready! I change the house around once a week - thats my OCD! Even if I know no-one will drop in, I always clean everything and get dressed, put make up on etc, I think its a good thing to be a bit anal about anyway! As long as you arent running yourself ragged that is. Glad Becca put some weight on, hope she continues too - you sound a bit more confident with bf'ing, hope the LC is really helpful, what a weight off your mind if all the bf'ing goes well and no bottles, formula, breast pump, sterilizing...urk! The babgiesgalore website has a twin pram section I saw this morning if you want to check them out. We havnt started headbanging but we have dog sitting and hitting!
Dis - Dont worry about the carrots - B is obsessed with cheese and milk and carbs! At least Ben's is a vege! It must be lovely to have such a nice relationship between your mum and Ben. He will miss your sis' bub too huh? Not too long before he will have one all his own at home anyway!
Kaz- Thanks for the library tip Kaz, might investigate that. Good luck at the docs!Hope you can TTC soon!
I am ovulating in a few days so DH and I are DTD like crazy trying for a bubbie girl:dance: are we supposed to stop (without protection IYKWIM) once I ovulate? Only do it in the lead up?
-
Just a quicky to say congrats to Mel on the birth of your little girl... and good luck Jen with TTC...must go very whingy boy here who has refused to nap today and sleep for the past few nights:wall:
hi to everyone else hope you are all doing well
-
Oh wow, everyone's been in for a visit!!
Mel, things sound like they're going ok....I found the first 6wks or so the worst. After that things really settled down. Lily is fine with Liam now, though does the suffocating 'cuggles' too, LOL! She tries to sit as close to him as she can and usually sits on top of him.
With your bfing, I'm glad you're seeing a LC. You can do it!! I was tempeted by formula too, Liam was actually having formula top ups before we left hossy, when I got home I decided I wasn't going to do it anymore and he would be only bf. It took a few days of constant feeding, but he was happy enough mostly. Now we haven't seen a bottle since we left hossy, and it's sooooo much easier than when I was feeding Lily, no bottles, sterilising, formula making, yada yada.
Lily was smacking herself for a while too, and headbutting the cupboards, me, the furniture if I didn't give her enough attention or what ever she wanted. But she's gotten used to waiting a bit now. I try to explain why she has to wait, I give her the sign language sign for wait, and say the word too, and tell her why simply- Wait, mummy's changing Liam's nappy Lily's turn next. She seems to understand better now, though still gets impatient, especially when she's tired or hungry.
Don't worry about your house either, I still have days where I get nothing done and it ****s me no end, but it happens and the kids are more important.
DG, Lil's turned into a bit of a daddy's girl too. She sometimes refuses to give me kisses and to come to me if she's being really clingy!
Jen, you should get DH to take Beau out in the boat and give you some me time. Then you'll really get some time alone! Instead of him getting all the time for himself.
Ok gotta go screaming baby.....

Hi!
Long time no post! We're going really well! Ethans been a bit more unsettled lately but I think it's cos my milks well and truly kicked in and I nearly drown him..poor little man. LOL! Dh went back to work yesterday and I was a bit nervous but we've had a great couple of days...I think the 2 big boys have settled a bit too...we even managed to make crowns and turn them into kings yesterday and I made yummy avocado nori rolls today! Keeping on top of things which is a goods start...not sure how long it will last though! LOL!
We had our first trip away on the weekend up to the PIL...the boys did sooo well! Especially considering since we've moved that it's now a 2 1/2 hour drive! Ethan slept the whole way and Louis & Dylan had naps as well so it was a relaxing trip! The boys loved getting away and having lots of attention from their oma and opa as well!
Dylans just gorgeous at the moment - giving Ethan lots of cuddles and kisses. He's learning new words everyday and surprising me with how much he knows! He's full of surprises!! He's such a cheeky, gorgeous little monster!
Kel - Gosh, I don't feel on top of it at times! LOL! Although I am a lot more relaxed this time around I think! Ethans just going with the flow really...then again I'm only 2 1/2 weeks into sleep deprivation...give me another few and we'll se how I'm going! LOL!
Wow at your dh's friends throwing him a surprise party!!!
Well done on the bfing as well!
Disgirl - How's your toe? Gosh..I don't blame you for being over it after no sleep!! LOL at staying home for 6 months - I'm sure you'll be fine!
Pre-natal depression? How about you're p/g, tired, have a little one to run after and not much time to yourself?? Anyone would feel overwhelmed at times by that! Silly dr!
LOL at Ben eating carrots - I hope he doesn't turn orange! LOL!
JenSam - Good for you and dh having such a good talk about the time after Beau arrived. Puts you in a great position to deal with things better when no 2 makes it's arrival!
As for day sleeps, Dylan sleeps anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 hours mostly...probably more often 1 1/2h I suppose...he has around 12 hours at night as well but is waking quite a bit for some unknown reason...it's dh's job to get up to him now though since I'm forever feeding Ethan - LOL !
I agree though - I think it's important to have that chill out time to yourselves at night after the kids are in bed...we've always tried to get the kids to sleep as close to 7pm as we can...
Big hugs with dh being away doing things at the moment...I don't blame you for feeling so isolated...Thats great you found the playgroup!
Ooh how exciting - I hope it's your month!! I believe if you go by that method you would stop prior to ovulation...Gosh your good if you do - I'm to impatient and just go at it anytime - LOL! Although in saying that we only TTC Louis really...Dylan and Ethan we tried without trying as such!! LOL!
Von - Hi! Hope you get some sleep!
Mel - Wow on dh being back at work already! How are you coping? Mornings are probably the hardest with a new bubs around! I have to watch Dylan with Ethan also...he's quite gentle but a couple of times has gone to pick him up! LOL!
I hope your milks settled in now...can be hard when your boobs are engorged...
Well done on the feeding so far - she's obviously getting enough to have put on so much weight overnight!!
Kaz - How exciting - what did the dr say about ttc? You can come for a visit anytime!!
Ok...must go and get ready for bed...Chat later!
-
well, the doc says go for it! he'll support me through it! yay! Apparently the meds I'm on increase heart defects, but the risk of that is less than the risk of downs' so that puts it in perspective really. And the BiL is a cardiologist ... so just getting blood tests for toxoplasmosis (i have cats) and rubella before we get mirena removed and then ...
Jen - apparently you need to not DTD 1 day prior to O or after for a girl - I know we'll be trying that!
(can you tell I'm excited?) Great news on the playgroup - good they're not all churchie, it can be a bit daunting if they are.
Kris - I am SO coming to visit soon! Ethan's so cute!
Kel - baby sign language? is it really successful? Lil sounds cute as though!
Mel - how's becca's weight going? can't wait to see piccies!!!
Von - I think its that time, pip has bright red teething cheeks again ...
We have our first Christmas Concert on the 11th - apparently the nursery will be doing a sing-song! Can't wait!
dream pretty all.
-
Good morning ladies! My second-last day at work!!!
Kaz, We did a few signs with Ben which were really helpful. He actually invented his own signs for a couple of words, but we figured them out pretty quickly and we haven't ever really had a problem communicating with him. It's not as useful now since he's coming out with new words all the time, but it was handy from 11-16 months or so, and he still uses signs as he says words now.
Good luck on the TTC!!!
Kris, the toe is doing much better in these last couple of days, thanks for asking :) I think the doc had to bring up pre-natal depression, just in case I guess. I also think he caught me on a REALLY bad day and I'm usually so happy and cheery when I see him that he was a bit concerned. No worries from me though, definitely NOT depressed!
Sounds like you and your two little kings had a good day and a wonderful weekend away. I still reckon I'll be house-bound for six months after this bub arrives!
Kel, I'm so glad you're so happy with your bfing journey with Liam. The thought of formula and all the work of sterilising etc truly scares me  Ben never had formula and the only time we used a bottle was for EBM and I found that so time-consuming. I'm hoping this bub is as natural at bfing as Ben was. I'm far too lazy (and tight!) for formula!
Von, I think Kaz might be on to something. Ben has had some red patches high on his cheeks too. Probably those 2yo molars moving around. It seems we never get a break from bloody teething!
Jen, EXCELLENT news on the playgroup!!! As for the ttc a girl, I think you have to steer clear of O day and the two days either side ie. one day before, one day after. Even then though, you still might get some strong boy swimmers!
Yep, Ben will miss his little cousin, but I'm not sure how keen he will be about his new baby being with him 24/7. At least he gets a break from Paige at the end of the day!
Mel, well done on Becca's weight gain! I don't know about 'enjoying' my last week of work, but I sure feel a lot happier knowing I won't be here next week...or for the following 51 weeks!!!! :)
I'm as breathless as anything today! I think I might go for a walk soon to see if I can get the bub to move a bit. Had terrible heartburn yesterday and last night after a pie for lunch. Pies set me off when I was pg with Ben too - I should have remembered!
Ben has been sleeping MUCH better. 11hrs last night and that was after a 4 hour nap yesterday! It's great to have such a long sleep from him in the day when I'm at home because I get a lovely sleep for myself, so it's not a habit I'm keen to break.
Does anybody else feel like their little ones are understanding EVERYTHING they say? Ben just amazes me with his comprehension right now. He still confuses a few words, like this morning he was pointing at a brown car and frowning. We didn't know what he was trying to tell us until I said "Oh yes it's BROWN car" and he broke into a big grin like "FINALLY you get it mum!" Brown/frown - same thing really! How silly of me not to pick up on it straight away!
-
Hellooo!
Just got back from our first playgroup session which was very successful! Discovered Beau likes playdoh and body slamming small children:doh: But overall it was good - always weird lobbing into new people especially in a new area but they all surprisingly had 10 fingers and toes! He he! Beau is having a nap now - hopefully it will be a long one! He wouldnt have one yesterday then I finally got him asleep after two attempts and our dogs barking woke him up after 20min!
Dis - Like, Woah at Ben and how clever he is! I cant believe how amazing he is with his colours! He must have one hell of a mumma. I think i need to start charting my cycle a little more dilligently (at all would be good) cause I think I have strong boy genes for sure - I have three brothers myself! Hope your heartburn improved - stinky pies! Thats awesome on Ben's long naps and sleeps, woo hoo!
Kris - Well well you ol' sex maniac! Youre so funny! You are an amazing lady, going away already, with 2 and a new bub? Does your DH kiss the ground you walk on? I dream of a day I am as together and relaxed as you!
Kaz - yay on ttc'ing! We can try for a girl together! Not literally!
Kel - You sound really well, now that you have said things get easier after 6 weeks, that is so going to be my marker now! So good you didnt resort to the formula when you got home, it so tough when its all so hard and emotional at first, it takes real strength to stick it out breastfeeding.
Von - Hey there, hope you are getting some sleep around your place.
I told Dh that its preferable when trying for a girl that the woman doesnt orgasm and the missionary position is best - every night now its "are we trying for a girl tonight?" LOL!! Arent they hilarious?
xxx
-
Jen, that's so good that playgroup went well. It is always a bit awkward when you rock up somewhere new and don't know whether people will be a bunch of weirdos or not
Oh, and Ben isn't as smart as I made him sound. Some days he's really good and gets all his colours right, other days everything is blue, or orange
I'm only on for a minute. We finally got our new computer and WOW I can't believe how much faster it is than our six year old clunker! I LOVE macs!!! Just in time too, my last day at work is tomorrow. Spent a lovely day out shopping with my mum, sis, SIL and our three babies. It was lovely and I bought two summer dresses that should get me through any hot summer days.
Best be off to give the boy dinner.
-
Hey Jen- I have 6 brothers and a sister....I got 2 girls...... Glad your playgroup went well and hopefully it will cure your lonliness,
Yay on the Mac Mel.
Kaz......yayayayayay on ttc
We went to the lactation day stay today and i feel better about things and have managed to work all feeds/expressing to less than an hour:)
Must update my ticker tonight but got to get Olivia to bed first...then feed becca...
-
Mel - she's so cute! little girl!!!!!
Jen - yay on the playgroup, it makes a difference.
Von - how are you travelling up there? Hey, I'll be in Brissie after NY - would be great to catch up
Mel - which mac did you get? I love my macbook :) Just takes a little getting used to switching between mac & pc but all good!
How was that storm yesterday? We were driving home from work, down Wellington Road and not too far from Springvale Road (like, 100m) when something near the traffic lights got hit by lightning! It looked like a street light or summat - really weird. And then the hail hit.... Decent hail for a change!
DH was at home with a sick Pip - ear infection in one ear, fluid in the ear on the other. So I'm home today with whingey child. Least Pip was interested by the hail, he stood at the window watching it with interest.
Anyhows, I'm off to cuddle & change sick boy. Have a great day all.
-
Good Morning!
:pMel there is hope for me yet! Wow you come from a big family! Glad the LC was helpful - did DH stay with Olivia or did she go with you guys?
DIs - Good on you with a new computer! At least you wont dissapear when you have this bubba like last time!
Kaz - Poor pip, the little thing is under the weather again? He cant seem to shake it can he? I hope it is starting to clear for you both.
Us - Going out for our 6th wedding anniversary tonight (not til the 7th Dec really but our babysitters, BIL and SIL are going away!) to a lovely resturant we have been to before many years ago before marriage! - the degustation menu awaits! Woo Hoo! We will put B down then shoot off! He slept for bugger all yesterday after the stinky ice cream van woke him - but he slept in till 7am this morning:D
Have great days everyone xxx
-
Yayayayayayayay - last day at work *does the last day at work dance* :)
Mel, what a big family you have! Must be fun when you all get together :) Glad the LC helped. I remember when Ben use to feed for almost an hour EVERY time he fed. He was a guts though!
Kaz, just got a basic iMac but totally love it already. We had an eMac so we're not new to Mac, but six years is a long time in computer world and the difference in speed and ease is amazing!
Poor Pip. Hope he's feeling better and not too clingy for you today.
Jen, yup, will be able to stay in touch this time and not go MIA. I'm seriously in love with my computer, even turning it on and booting it up takes about 1/8th of the time the old one used to! We've also started editing all the Ben DVDs we have, transferring them from mini-discs to normal DVDs at long last.
Have a lovely dinner with your DH. Nothing wrong with celebrating early or late. DH and I went out for dinner in November for our first anniversary and in September for our 2nd and our anniversary is actually in October
Feeling GOOD today! A bit breathless and hot but nothing will ruin my good mood today!
-
Hi ladies,
Kris, it sounds like things are going well for you. You are doing so well!
Kaz, yay @ ttc, good luck :) .
Yeah, I have used sign language for a little while with her, just really basic signs, I don't know that many. I only know it from work, we use it with the children with special needs to make life easier for them. It has been good for Lil, and she still uses the signs now even though she can say the words too now.
Poor Pip sick again, I hope he gets better soon.
DG, you must be getting to the stage of your pg where you're getting over everything now! At least it hasn't been all that hot yet this yr.
Glad to hear Ben's sleeping better for you now :) .
Jen, glad the playgroup was fun! At least now you have somewhere to go to get out.
Thanks, I'm pretty proud to say we are now fully bf. After such a tough time with Lil, I was dreading going through all of that again. And yep, I think 6wks is the time when it gets easier, it did for us anyhow, Lil got the message Liam was hanging around, Liam figured out night time was when you sleep and bf got easier all of a sudden!
Happy anniversary! I hope you have a lovely day and dinner.
Mel, happy to hear that the LC helped you, I hope things get easier. I know how hard it can be :( . And Becca is gorgeous!
Ok Lil's up, goota go.
-
Good Evening ladeez,
Friday night dinner was great, just so amazing to go on a date, although of course Beau woke up as soon as we left but SIL and BIL just let him whinge for 20min and he dropped back off!! Isnt it hilarious? He never wakes up but the minute you walk out....they wouldnt have rung us anyway just delt with him themselves, bless.
Been a pretty quiet weekend around here- DH away on a golf weekend so B and I just chillin' out around the house. Went for a walk this morning to the local shops up the STEEPEST hill ever - nearly killed me! Kept "checking" on Beau as an excuse to stop and get a breath ;) He has been pretty good for me, must have known mummy needed some down time, had two big naps Sat and Sun and has been pretty fuss free.
DH came home this afternoon swearing he will never leave us again, I am sure when I jumped him when he came in the door(B still asleep) was a nice welcome home too!
Ok better go, hope everyone having a nice weekend.
-
LOVING maternity leave and it's only my first day!!! So far I've done four loads of washing (including the bedding for Ben's new big boy bed that we STILL haven't put him into) and Ben and I have been to the park. This on top of the usual stuff of feeding, changing and feeding AGAIN a toddler - and myself.
It's a brilliantly sunny day here - a lovely start to summer!
We had a good weekend, family visits (us to them) on both days to both sides of the family. Ben is finally starting to enjoy playing with his cousins. I have a feeling that him and his next oldest cousin (a boy 10 months older) are going to get into a lot of mischief when we go camping together at Christmas! They're already showing signs
Jen, glad you had a lovely night out! The one and only date DH and I have had since having Ben was for our anniversary this year. We went kinda early so he wasn't asleep and he was having so much fun with his Nan and Aunty I don't think he even realised we were gone!
I best be off. I want to do a few other things before trying to get a bit of a nap myself. I'm hoping Ben will have his usual 3-4 hour nap :) Happy first of Summer everybody!!!
-
Hi ladies,
Well, it's gone all quiet in here again.....I guess with chrissy and babies and all, everyone is busy, busy, busy!
Jen, glad to hear you have a good time at dinner. I can't wait til our kidlets are bigger and easier to look after so mum will look after then for longer than a few hours! I haven't had anytime alone with DH at all since Liam was born :(...
Sounds like you're going to get fit living up the coast now, what with all that walking! LOL.
DG, glad your mat leave is going well so far. Don't tire yourself out too much!
Us, well, a fairly quiet weekend. Just went to mum for the night saturday night, to let DH get some sleep after a few night shifts, then a 1st birthday sunday, which was lovely. Lily had a ball!
I'm feeling a bit run down and over the mummy thing the past few days. I need more than 30mins to myself! But won't be getting that anytime soon, so I just need to get over it! Ok gotta go , Liam's calling.
-
Oh Kel, do you have anybody who can take Lily and Liam for a few hours? I had mum take Ben this morning and went and had a pg massage. It was absolute heaven! Then I did some shopping. My goodness, I didn't realise how much I missed shopping without a little one to entertain/feed/change! Had an absolute ball! I also did the grocery shopping while eating an ice-cream cone, something that is impossible with Ben demanding half of anything mummy has and 'helping' in the shops  I feel like a new woman!!!
-
Hi Everybody...
Just got back from playgroup (which is going very nicely thank you!) - there was another little boys 3rd birthday and there was chocolate cake which Beau of course tried to eat like cookie monster which was disaster! He has been such a crank the past two days, especially in the morning which is weird. I think I am going to try and put him down earlier in the evening (than 7:30pm) cause he still awake at 5:45am anyway so maybe he is tired still thats why he is so cranky???/
Kel - I think you are doing so well, dont blame you for getting a bit over it. Totally normal. You will have to get DH to take the kids for a morning or arvo if you can leave some EBM for Liam and go and do something for yourself. You are considerate of DH going to your mums so he should do the same for you!! Going out to dinner was amazing, you appreciate so much once you have kids!! Love dressing up too once in a while - feel like a sexy woman not a yoghurt/vegemite covered mumma.
Dis - What about you with your domestic duties! Are you still on a roll there? Let us know how Benny boy goes in his big bed too. How good you got to have a massage and some retail therapy! I got a surprise tax return last week and am trying to decide what shopping centre I am going to one weekend (solo!) to spend some of it - cant wait!! You must feel great not waking B up of a morning now - how are his sleeps adjusting?
Hi everyone else - hope you are all well x
-
hello ladies :)
Just a quick one, you're all doing so well!
Us - well, Pip's been ill again, I've been ill (I'm actually in bed writing this) so not much happening here. Haven't even put up the Christmas Tree yet, and I'm usually making everyone help me on Dec 1.
Ahh well.
Have a good week all.
-
Jen, domestic duties? No roll going on there! I've hardly done anything the past couple of days. I had my niece and nephew here yesterday - aged five and two - and that was exhausting. My back is letting me know about it today too. At least Ben had fun playing with them all day. The house is a pigsty and I have no energy either.
So bloody hot here again. Another air-con day and I'm even considering driving to the in-laws for a swim. We've decided to pull our pool out so we're letting it rot in all it's green glory until we can get a pump to drain it. Hopefully that will be this weekend, but there is a long list of things I want to get done this weekend - including painting Ben's room. Yep, it's STILL not done.
Stay cool everybody!
-
Hiya ladies,
Well, I have managed to get both kidlets asleep at the same time for the first time is ages! And I needed the break, I'm going crazy. Lily's sleep patterns are all over the place, she's been really unpredictable. Some nights she's waking once or twice, some it's 4-5 times. Some mornings she's up at 5am, others it's 6.30, this morning it was even 7am!! She hasn't slept in that 'late' for I don't even remember the last time- ages! So I have no idea what's going on from day to day. She's still going to bed at the same time, between 6.30-7.30. Still having 2 day sleeps though times are a bit erratic depending on when she wakes, all up she usually sleeps between 13-15hrs a day, which is normal for her age. But I jsut wish it was predictable. She is teething again though, getting her 2yr old molars. So I think that's what making it so bad at the mo. Hopefully when she gets them that will be it for the bad sleeping and she will start to sleep through, or at least better!
She's been really good lately. She is understanding sooo much and helps me with little things for Liam, like getting nappies and stuff. She's a little parrot and says anything we do, it's very funny at times!
DG, no I don't really have anyone to take the kids, mum will for a couple of hours but for me to relax, I would want at least half a day, kwim? It just wouldn't be worth if for 2-3hrs, I would get home probably tidy up and then sit down and it would be time to go and get them. Plus with Liam bfing, its harder for people to look after him, though he takes a bottle easily enough. But I really hate expressing, very lazy I know! And again for a few hours not worth my efforts, I can't express much at once, so to get a whole bottle it would take at least a whole day.
Jen, glad to hear playgroup is still going well. LOL@ Beau with the cake I can just imagine it!!
I hear you on feeling like a normal person when you wear decent clothes and stuff. I am in such a rut at the moment. I have no really nice clothes and hate how I look so even when I put on some nicer stuff I still feel frumpy. I hate it!
Kaz, I hope you're all feeling better.
Ok gotta go and have some 'lunch' (a bit late!)
-
Hiya!
Dh not home for another hour and I am in the spare room pretending to fold clothes while Beau watches a DVD...drinking wine and having chips too - so bad am I!
Kel - Oh Bless, it wont be forever mate, whats going on with Lil cheeky bugger! Have you tried her on one day sleep? Maybe she is having too much in the day , or used to waking after a short time in the day so thinks the same is true for night time? Far out - you are doing well to be putting a sentence together. It is a lot of palava expressing just for a few hours peace, but maybe, dont clean up at home and just go straight to a cafe or a movie? Do something for you? A manicure or a massage or something? You might be pleasantly surprised that it makes a difference? Hugs to you but xxx
Dis - LOL at Bens room needing painting- at least you have had a LONG time to pick the colour! Phew at your baby sitting duties, eeks! You only need to be on a domestic roll once a week I say anyway! Just cram it all in one day then chill! Yeah right! A/C on here today too - Beau just had a dip in the lake too - its filled with weed at the shoreline though cause of all the wind which is a bit yucko.
Kaz - Hugs to you and Pip being sick again. Hope you guys are feeling better and the bedrest is doing you good.x
Us - we are ok - Beau's fav word is "No" now, I kind of laugh cause its pretty cute, I made sure he was in bed at 6:45 last night and he woke at 4:15, 6 then 6;30 for real and seems happier today thank god!
xxx to all - have a great friday night xxx

Jen, once a week? I think I might be able to manage that! I'm finding that even doing the washing up is a bit much for me ATM because I have to leave forward over my belly and that makes me breathless and my back hurts! I don't think I got this big even at the end with Ben!
Ben doesn't say no, he says "Nup!" Hehe, that just shows how terrible his parent's slang/pronunciation is huh?
It's even hotter today isn't it? If we didn't have aircon, I think I would have gone to a shopping centre to hang out today!
Kel, I'm with Jen. Use one of those 3hr breaks to take in a movie or just vege. The housework is ALWAYS going to be there waiting for you and it's never finished anyway. Our house looks like a tip more often than not these days but I just don't have the energy to pick up Ben's cars for the 14th time in a day and we ALWAYS need to vacuum and mop thanks to the dog. I've just learnt to let go - and I do it so well
Maybe you should try cutting Lil back to one sleep during the day? Ben's now starting to sleep a little later and taking a more 'normal' daytime sleep rather than only being awake for a couple of hours before his morning nap. Stopping work is having some major perks!!!
The room is being painted!!! DH has been washing walls all morning and has almost finished taping up the alcatraves. Painting will start either today or tomorrow. Hopefully it will only need one coat too. Yay - I can move my boy into his big boy bed at long last!!!
-
WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lil slept through for the first time in about 10mths!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyy :D Pity Liam slept badly
-
YAY LIL!!!!!!
Jen - sounds lovely, that lake of yours. hehehe on the "pretending to fold" when there's nobody there to pretend to!!!
DG - I was like that with Pip, horrid isn't it.
Was reading "how to raise a happy child" today and it stated that a "good mother won't have a tidy house" :) I must be the most excellent mother ever!
(actually, I'm pretending to clean my closet but am lying on the bed with the cat)
We had a breakthrough! Pip keeps saying "uck" and "duck" and "ruck" and last night I worked out he's tyring to say "patrick"!!! He was pointing at photos of himself saying "ruck" and it clicked for me!!! Man I feel stupid, he's been saying it now for a couple of months!
We're on the mend, back to work and CC on Monday. Took Pip to see santa today but lots of crying :(
Have a great day all!
-
Ick what a foul day....DH playing golf all day and Beau only slept 25min - I just locked myself in the bathroom (and had a big cry after DH said he was going fishing in the morning) and DH put Beau to bed, only for me to turn off the shower and hear Beau crying (prob cause I do it EVERY night)...he is still whinging now, I am prepared for him to stay there as I have had a massive crank on my hands crying at everything since 12;30 this afternoon.....how will I ever cope with two? Sheesh, sometimes I feel like the nanny.
Anyhoo....Congrats Kel on Lil sleeping thru, at least you only had to juggle one in the middle of the night!
Kaz - Glad to hear you sounding brighter, LOL at Pip and trying to pronouce his name. Bless him!
Dis - Yay on the painting. Mmm life with toddlers and dogs = gross floor 24/7! I hear ya!
Discovered beau likes having his bare back tickled today, when I would stop he would say "gain!" :D
Anyway should go and show my face x
-
Just a quick one from me....
Kaz, hope you and Pip are feeling better, how cool him trying his name out. You must be proud as punch.
Kel- yay on Lils first sleep through overnight. hoping that you get many more and Liam cottons on....
Jen- Hugs to you. You'll be fine with two...
Mel- have fun painting. let me know how it goes with Ben in his big boy bed...we still havent moved Olivia, she needs the containment!!!
Hope kristies doing ok.
Us- well we are managing. I am still pumping and giving ebm EVERY feed. Back to the day stay tomorrow. I dont know how long I will keep expressing, just coz it takes so long to do the whole feed cycle and Olivia is missing out big time and is cracking it big time. Shes been very patient but I do understand why shes acting out like she does at times. Rebecca just wont take my boob. other than thats shes growing heaps. She sleeps ok but has a really loud ear piercing cry, so everyone knows when shes awake!!
Ok, better go....more washing to do and have to pump my huge boobies!!!
-
oh wow Mel, that's so much work for you! Poor MissyMoo, she's doing so well.
-
Hey Mel, I did that (bottle feed EBM) for 6 months with Beau and nearly lost my freakin mind! Dont know how you are doing it with Olivia too. Hope the clinic has some help:pray:
-
my hat off to you jen....6 months wow. i suppose i could dothat without a toddler but i have one....oh i dunno what to do. i am pumping now and just got 130 mls from one side and have just as much grom the other...it would be such a waste.....

Hi!
Sorry it's taken so long to post! Things have been quite busy! LOL!
We're going really well though...Ethan is just gorgeous and has been sleeping very well for me - no complaints!! I've just started getting smiles the last few days as well which are just gorgeous! Louis and Dylan have settled down heaps as well which is nice!
We had a huge weekend going to the local Carols on Sat night - just for a bit - they had free jumping castle and animal farm etc so the kids loved it and then we had a big day at werribbee zoo yesterday...
Had a few tears the other day after having a couple of nights of not much sleep at all but otherwise have been feeling pretty good...Dh has been amazing getting up to the 2 older boys, even though he's back at work now and so I only need to deal with Ethan overnight...He's also bathing all the boys - I haven't even bathed Ethan yet! LOL! So I'm very lucky I have such a supportive dh (as much as he drives me nuts sometime - LOL!) Makes up for not having much other practical help around...
Dylans being so gorgeous lately - his tantrums have settled (a little) and he's just surprising me each day with how clever he is! With Louis we were always teaching him the next thing but Dylan just comes out with it all on his own and surprises us (typical second child! LOL)...I got a shape-o from tupperware and he says circle, triangle etc when putting them in and all his animal words and objects..he knows basically all his colours now and is getting the idea of counting but hasn't got the words quite right yet...Most of his sentences are still a bit of gobbledygook but he did ask me to "open the door" the other day...LOL!
We've got Kinder orientation for Louis tomorrow - we're so excited! It's only 2 1/2 hours one day a week but I'm certain he's going to love it!! He's so ready for that contact with kids and also the stimulation from learning...
Anyway..Otherwise not too much exciting stuff happening!
Kaz - Yeah on TTC - How exciting!! Aww...how cute Pips doing a christmas concert! Sorry to hear Pip was sick again...hope he's all better now...
LOL on reading the book - it's great isn't it?? Hehe - I have a clean house but thats because I pay someone - LOL!!!!!
Aww sorry to hear he didn't like santa...gosh...I really must go and get the kids photos done...
Disgirl - Wow - not long to go now! How great you've finished up work! What a relief! Glad Ben's sleeping better now...
Yeah at a new computer!! Wow at getting a p/g massage and doing shoppign on your own - Bliss! Good for you!
Thats great you got Bens room painted! How exciting he's going into a big bed...I really must do some shopping - Dylan needs one very soon before Ethan outgrows the bassinette...
Jen - Glad playgroup is going well! We're going to start going to one next year...I can take all the boys and I can't believe how cheap it is!! Good luck with ttc a girl...having boys is nice too though! LOL!
Ooh Happy Anniversary!! Glad you had a nice dinner out!
LOL - I'm not that together at all I don't think...I suppose it gets easier in one respect when you have a few kids - you never knew you could deal with so much!! Are you really giving up your orgasms?? gosh...maybe thats my problem...hehehe!
Haha - definitely not a sex maniac either...although dh pestered me enough so we've already dtd...it's easier to keep him quiet sometimes...hehe.
LOL at thinking "no" sounds cute...I wonder how long that will last - Hehehehe. (maybe till he's 3 and thats all you hear?) LOL!
Big hugs on your tears...I hope you felt better after a cry...sometimes it just gets like that thats for sure! Of course you'll manage with 2!! Remember Beau will be a fair bit older than he is now as well when a bubs arrives which will make things easier....
Mel - Ooh I love your ticker photo - what a gorgeous little girl you have there! Look at all that hair!
Big hugs on the expressing...that would be tough...Hope the day stay helps...LOL - I'm with you on the ear piercing cry - speaking of which...I can hear one now...
wow - you definitely have plenty of milk then - LOL!
Kel - Big hugs..it can be hard when you don't have any "me time"...hope you can manage some time out soon...I agree with Jen though...dh should be able to have the kids to give you a break! Gosh - half a day kid free would be magic...I haven't had that time just to myself since before Louis arrived! Actually, I think I've only had one time since Louis arrived when I was p/g with Dylan that mum took him for a drive to see my sister and I was home alone for a couple of hours...other than that kid free time has been purely for a "reason"...hmmm might need to change that when Ethans a bit bigger! That sounds crazy now that I come to think of it...hehehe.
Yep...alone time with dh can be a bit difficult...our expected first night out child free is for the Pink concert next June! hehehe...hopefully something will come up earlier than that though!!
Sorry to hear Lilys sleeps so unpredictable...have you tried giving her just 1 day sleep?? Might help to improve her night sleeps? Maybe...? but who really knows...LOL! Just an idea though...Yeah at her having a sleep through!
You've just had a baby! You don't generally have the energy to dress up and feel gorgeous! LOL...I'm sure in another few months you will!
You guys are stressing me out with all your cleaning/housework - LOL! I suggest everyone just pick up the toys once at the end of the day and be done with it...otherwise you're going to do your heads in picking them up just for them to get them out again! hehe!
Ok...well enough from me...kids still haven't eaten brekky yet cos it's taking me forever to write! LOL!
Chat soon!

Good Morning...
Hey Mel, no hat tipping required - its pretty tough going expressing for that long, I think only for a short time I was able to pump what you are so I understand when you say its a waste. Hopefully today will help you and Rebecca might attach better....
Kris - Nice to hear from you! All your boys do sound lovely, I wouldnt really mind having all boys but if we dont try TTC a girl, I wont ever know! Wow at Dylan and all his clever activities! What a clever man! Good on your DH for being so lovely and helpful, bless him I say! What a great dad. Glad Ethan is sleeping so well for you too. No harm in a few tears is there?!?
Us - Went and had my hair done yesterday and bought some Xmas toys from Kmart for Beau (A timber Ninky Nonk, some playdoh stuff, shape puzzles etc), he has a train set and some big trucks put away already too - I bought him a load of tees online on Friday from this amazing US website that I love and conned DH into putting it on his credit card :D So i felt better after a bit of me time, I have a trip to the city planned on the weekend for a nosy around the shops, which will be the first time since we moved up here so I am very excited!!! First fun day just for me since Beau was born LOL!
Hope every one is doind well x
-
Well I hired the machine for another 5 weeks..... tomorrow I am taking Rebecca to a chiropractor to see if she has any adjustment issues. If things dont improve by the new year...i am going to call it quits. That gives her almost 2 months of boobie juice.
Good to hear things are ok with you Kris.
Ok i am k.o'd...think i'll go pass out of a quick minute before the little one wakes from her noisy slumber...or my boobs burst!!!
-
Hi!
Good for you Mel! Hopefully things improve by then!
Jen - Fair enough - I think you need a girl to go shopping with! LOL! Good on you for getting out and having some me time...I'm sure your dying to go shopping in the city! Sounds great!
Had a big day really...walked to the mchn which is only about a km away but with the 2 boys in the pram and Ethan in the sling I was buggered by the time I got back! LOL! Had girlfriends over for dinner and dh was home on kid duty so was so nice to be able to relax and have a laugh. I made the most yummy choc brownies...they turned out sooo good! I was so surprised! LOL!
Ok..better try and get some sleep...I'm soooo tired! Chat later!
-
Gosh Kris no wonder you were buggered after that trip! Yes very excited to go shopping - I am a bit of a solo shopper - especially when its for Xmas stuff, I have a 5 point plan of shops to visit and it will be a military operation! Just hope I can carry it all home (who am I kidding? I will be a sherpa but who cares?!) Good you got some GF time - brownies....mmmmm
Mel - The LC day stay didnt help at all? Sounds like a good plan anyway, sometimes giving yourself a deadline helps when you are doing long term expressing, kind of count down, makes you feel a bit better anyway. I cant imagine trying to pump with a toddler too! - I used to bottle EBM feed Beau, settle him to sleep, make myself something to eat and sit and watch telly and do it....it would be VERY different now! Most of the time he would wake up after I just finished expressing, it was extremely time consuming, but at least he got some breastmilk as you are saying for Becca, good luck with the chiro.
Beau is sitting on the rug watching the Night Garden drumming his fingers on his legs and looks so cute! :)
-
oooh jen- we missed ITNG, coz I have the wiggles on..... The day stay was ok, it just gave me the opportunity to make sure I was doing the right positioniong and that she is latching on ok. She just isnt sucking right or for long. In that respect it helped. the midwife also suggested the oteo or chiro as she said she might have mal alignment due to birth and this may help....no guarentees though!!! its just good to get some support.
Kris- what a walk no wonder you were buggered. yum cookies.....
Well I have just bathed becca coz shes a massive chucker, now I have to change the bassinett sheets. I just walked over to the lounge...which i can see from here (open plan) to find Olivia laying next to Bec, under the A frame thing, with Olivas fingers in becs mouth, acting as a dummy!!! Although as soon as I walked over, she started pushing them in a bit hard.....trying to get my attention!!!
Well, better get moving.
Have a good day
-
Morning..
Jen - I prefer shopping on my own as well...unless someone else is paying - LOL!
Mel - Glad the day stay was good...what a bugger she's not sucking properly...she doesn't have a tongue tie does she? Although I'm sure they would have picked that up by now...
How cute the 2 of them under the a-frame...it's good they're getting along well! I can't leave Ethan for very long on his own under the playgym or in the bouncer or he cracks it!! Another mummies boy I think...LOL!
Off for Louis' kinder orientation today - we're very excited! Have to wait for mum to get here to mind the other 2 boys...I'm just certain she's going to run late...she's a shocker when it comes to stuff like that...she's always late for everything and then ends up stressing out (and stressing me out)...oh well, we'll wait and see!
Enjoy your days!
