Babies Born April 2007 #18

Hi everyone...been a looooong time....I have not read all the posts but just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE 2 YEAR OLDS

I have not been around as James has been diagnosed with a disease of the immune sysytem which is why he has been getting sick every month and going to specialists and having test after test has kept us busy over the last few months then to top it off my dad was diagnosed with cancer so have been driving him around for all his treatments..so after doing all this it has left very little time for me to do anything for myself.......I am hoping that now things have got into a routine that I amy get some extra time to myslef now:pray:

Hope everyone here is doing well and that all the 2 year olds have had wonderful birthdays and got spoiled

Mel, poor little Jared, what a scare. Lucky the paed saw you quickly, it's a horrid thing to wait at the emergency ward.

Jen - what a little monkey! Pip is just as bad when he's in a mood.

Kris - eye teeth - How many teeth does D have left to come through?

Us - well pip's b/day is on Sunday, and we're having it at the SiL's, glad we are cause its supposed to be cold & miserable - my mum& dad are coming down from brissie, where the forecast is for 31deg, not 8-9 deg! We're having an icecream cake in the shape of a firetruck, and that's the only extravagance! Haven't got him a pressie yet - doh.

... and ... the doc has given me the all-clear to TTC!

Kaz-The firetruck ice cream cake sounds great....Are you buying it? wish I had thought of that for James' bday cake instead I made one and stuck a pic of brum in the middle cause he is brum mad and made a border around the pic with lollies....and yay for the all clear to TTC...I hope it happens quick for you.....i am still trying to convince dh to say yes to ttc

HEy Von- am sorry to hear about James. How are you coping? Good to hear from you too. I made an Elmo cake for Olivia...it was fantastic!

Kaz- yay on getting the go ahead for ttc, hope it doesnt take too long. Happy birthday to pip hope he has a fab day even though the weather is supposed to be yuck. An ice cream cake sounds yum:)

Us, we are doing well. I had a great sleep last night, although i could sleep now! Not doing too much in theis crappy weather, will just stay home...depends on the girls. Just got my $900 from Mr Rudd, so I might go look for a dining table!

Wow Dis that is awful about Jared, how scary it must have been for you - glad he responded quickly to treatment and is on the mend. Poor Ben had a bit of a flop birthday hey? Oh well there will be plenty more for him to share with Jared too:p
Mel - Go for it, spend away! I only have about half of mine left and just asked Dh if we can use some of "his" on a big bed for Beau! I think we have decided to cut down a box frame under storage type we have in a double and get a new mattress and I will paint up the frame.....doh! I thought there would be an Ikea trip in it for sure! Glad you had big sleeps. Wow at Olvia climbing stairs at 10 months - cute! Beau thinks they are wonderful as we dont have any (thank god)

Kaz - Hope Pips party goes well, rug up you poor things! Good luck TTC and congratulations!!
Us- I worked today and Beau decided it was party time at 1am - DH got up to him (but the living room is next to our room so he may as well not have bothered really!) and decided to watch Spongebob with him and give him a bottle.....needless to say I got up and put him back in bed (I dont want to start any midnight Spongebob habits NOW) and then he was up at 5am for good. Ick. Like having a newborn again. Hope its teeth and he hasnt decided to punish us or something:lol:

Hiya girls,

I am still around! We went away for two weeks, to Qld. We visited DH's family, and then on to the Gold Coast for a holiday. It was really nice, but it is great to be home!
Just a quickie to say I'm still alive ;) Will find time in the next few days to try to read through posts and catch up.

A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the bubs....no big girls/boys that I missed. Lil had hers while we were away, and she had a ball!!

Ok gotta go and fall into be now :) phew, what a day!

Melissa-We had an elmo cake last year for James' 1st bday although when i say elmo cake i just stuck an elmo edible cake topper I saw at the supermarket on top:redface: ..lol as for how am i coping I don't think I am.. lol but what can you do..don't have time to stay in bed all day and feel miserbale..Hope you have fun looking for a table..I am thinking of going guniea pig shopping....

Jen-James has been waking up alot the past few weeks driving me mental and been waking up at 5 am and just want go back to bed after that...It is causing DH and i to fight alot as he hates being woken up and well i feel that i have been up all night with him so the least he can do is get up at 5am hoping this is just a phase with ds and it will pass quickly....the effect the disease has on james is that basically he is sick constently if there is a cold/flu/virus going around he will get it but more severe, so daycare is out for him at this time..a common cold can end up more serious with him and can very easily become life threatening..I always knew something was woring with ds but no one would listen I mean he has been on antibiotics every 2nd month since he was born and even when he was born he was antib's as he was born with a dangerously high temp.....ok sorry about the long reply Jen I just have not had anyone to talk to about it all since we found out...

Kel-sounds like you had a great 2 weeks in Qld...

us-As mentioned in my long reply to Jen...things are pretty crazy around here with James not sleeping DH and I fighting because of the lack of sleep we are all getting and James is sick yet again....The only person here doing well is DD:lol:

Dis - OMG - What a time you guys have been through! I'm so glad to hear that Jared's all better!!! Poor Ben on his b'day as well!! Yeah at dh for doing so well with everything also!!

Jen - Sorry to hear Beau's been giving you some grief! Discipline is going well here...Dylan has settled down soo much lately - I cannot stress how important persistance is...we've been at him for a year now and it's all finally sinking in...Not to say he's never naughty and he does still have some good tantrums but not half as bad as he was...
Oh no at him waking up in the night...hope that stops quickly! I don't blame you for putting an end to th spongebob antics - LOL!

Mel - Yeah at getting stuff done while the girls were in care!! If you're free on next Sunday (3rd May) I'm having a tupperware party if you want to come over!! You don't have to buy anything but just come around and the kids can have a play and we can have a catch up!!

Von - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad & james. What a stressful time for you! You poor thing... are you managing any time out at the moment? Don't forget to look afteryourself as well (although I know it's much easier said than done!) Happy Birthday to James also - Have you tried any natural therapies?? It may not "fix" the problem but I know a lot of people that have found it has helped a lot - Maybe a naturopath or homeopath?? Might be worth investigating...big hugs to you though...hope he starts sleeping better again soon...

Kaz - So glad to hear from you! Happy Birthday for Pip tomorrow! Sounds like he's party will be lots of fun! How exciting you are ready to TTC - I hope it happens quickly for you!!

Yeah - he's got 12 teeth at the moment with 1 eye tooth through and 3 more nearly ready to come through...my boys are very slow in the tooth department! LOL!

Kel - Happy Birthday to Lily - How fantastic you had a big holiday! It must have been so nice for all of you to be away together!

As for us, we've had a busy week as per usual! LOL! Boys are well! I was so tired last night so dh gave me a massage & dealt with Ethan which was nice - then I got a sleep in this morning until 10.30am! Woohoo! Now he's out until tomorrow though do luckily I got some time out when I did! LOL!

Yes, its a bought ice-cream cake, I can't be bothered working it out myself! I have a king-sized bed which has about 6 loads of washing to fold on it ... doh! And Pip has next-to-no clean clothes - double doh!

Von - you poor darlin', I hope you get some sleeps soon.
Jen - one of the mothers in my mum's group grabbed a bed from a kerbside colletion for her bub! He's gone straight into a full-sized bed, they have the cot mattress on the ground for him to roll onto during the night!

Mel - do get more sleep hun!

Anyhows, itme for Pip to have a nap, he's over-tired and boy are we paying for it! Or rather, his grandparents who are visiting....

ETA - Kris, I may come next week, the puffing billy race is on here and is horrid with traffic! yay on discipline. my biggest problem is that DH just yells at pip and turns up the tv to not hear him cry :( so i have no support there. We've had a few tanties, mostly in shopping centres, and I tend to just leave him to thump it out, and ignore him.

Oh, and i'm not getting notifictions either ...

Kris-No no break here for me..unless you classify work as a break lol..A few people have told me to look into alternative medicines for James so I really should look into it....off to add you to my facebook...

Kaz- Your bed sounds similar to mine with the clean washing all over it I started organising it and then just gave up lol..really should get my butt off the couch and do it now....

OOOh finally I should be good for next weekend. And I might just buy a few things!!! Ok we are of to the in laws for dinner tonight to see their new house in Pakenham. DH is in a crappy mood coz his brand new laptop has a bad virus and he cant get rid of it....

oh no Mel, that's sucky. I need to reformat my external HDD so I can redo this laptop, I was playing around with the permissions and mucked it up, now I can't save anything like bookmarks etc.

Hi guys, just another quick one from me, I feel like I haven't been home in ages. We had a wedding in Bowral last night and stayed the night down there. Jared slept for 8.5hrs which was fantastic, but Craig woke me up when he came into the room looking for some lovin' so I didn't get 8.5hrs sleep myself :lol: Oh well!

I hope to catch up properly soon, but I'm so short of time now - sorry!

Wow we've all been busy the past few hours! I think I'll just catch up today and go from there!

Kris, yep it was good to be away together. It was good to atch up with DH's family too. We went to his brother's wedding too. It was the first time in about 9yrs or so that they had all been together. And the first time we had met some of our nephews in person. And vice versa for them meeting our kids. They all fell in love with Lily. She is the only girl in a huge line of boys in their families ( DH is one of three boys, his dad is one of three boys and his two brothers both have three boys each too.) She charmed the pants off all of them!! But she is pretty damn cute!( No mummy bias there, I swear!) We then went down to Surfers Paradise for a week too and it was lovely. Beach or pool every day, no time constraints just us all together, bliss!
Lucky you having such a great sleep in. I'm DESPERATE for sleep. I feel so knackered for some reason. I just can't seem to catch up on sleep. I managed to get both kids asleep at the same time today and slept with them for 45mins. But now I'm ready for bed again!

Kaz, I have clothes everywhere too, though mine are all folded and in piles around the house from when we went away. I did the 6 loads of washing before we left to go away then left all of the clothes around the house once I had taken what I wanted. I though it would be ok since it was all clean and folded... Now I'm faced with the reality of having to sort it out into the right piles and pack it all away! I hate clothes washing!

Dis, I'm jealous of you getting 8.5hrs out of Jared! I'm feeding Liam 3-4hrly overnight. Then Lil's up usually 2 times a night. I'm stuffed. I know I don't have it as bad as some people (Von!) but I'd give my left foot for 8 hrs straight out either of my kids! Or even to get up after 7am....at the momnet it's 5am. Did I mention I HATE daylight savings?? Same thing happened last year. She seems to have such a hard time changing her body clock back to the right time. So now we are up at 5am most mornings, if not it's 5.30am......definately not later than 6. I'm so not a morning person.

Well, Lily had a great birthday. We got to spend it with DH's family. We had a little party here with my family, I made some little flower and dragonfly cupcakes. Then for her actual birthday, I made a heart cake and some little cream filled butterfly cupcakes for the kids. She loved it. She has gotten so much soooo many toys and clothes!! My little flat is toooo small. We need a house just to fit in the otys! I dread Liams first birthday...where will I put his pressies????
Lily is running hot and cold with her moods...she's worse than a teenager! But mostly she is so happy and just way too cute! SHe's talking like a little adult and is a parrot. She's just picking up so much and comes out with the funniest things! And she surprises me everyday with what she knows! She hums and dances her way through the day and is so beautiful. We have bitten the bullet and put her into her big girl bed. She goes down alright so far...it's only been two nights! But she's still wakin gin the night and coming into our room with us and Liam!
Ok, enough gloating about my gorgeous girl...gonna go and devour some ice cream :)

Havnt been around much as Beau has had really bad gastro since Saturday and has had extremely bad diorehea and vomiting so we have been in and out of doctors offices and the hospital yesterday....back to the gp today so hopefully we will know soon if he needs antibiotics - he has a really bad bum obviously but a viral rash all over his cheeks and inside his mouth too so he wont take fluids so we spent all yesterday trying to catch a wee with his pants off!
Anyway I have the flu so I am gonna rest up while he is asleep but some other news, I did a test before and:bfp: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going ok here - Louis is sick and seems Dylan is on his way - watery eyes today...bubs has been sneezing but doesn't seem actually sick yet...So anyway, no kinder for Louis today...Had a big fight with dh last night - I was trying to get some work done so asked him to order a pizza and as soon as I said ask for a meal deal he cracked and said I was changing everything and refused to order it - WTF?????? So I was determined to finish what I was doing which meant no pizza got ordered - we had no food in the house although he managed to find some bacon and cooked up some eggs and mushies for the kids so I had NO dinner...therefore I went to bed just after 8pm cos my tummy was rumbling and I was soooo cranky. So we haven't spoken since last night - I was just so cross cos I told him how tired I was and urghh and seemed to have yet another period (my bodies all over the place with this stupid mini pill cos I keep forgetting to take it) and then he can't even order bloody pizza - surely that's not too much to ask?? I know I was a bit stubborn not ordering it either but I was putting my foot down...anyway..we shall see what happens tonight - although I def have to go and do food shopping - there is Nothing to eat...I'm so unispired at the moment with cooking though...

Ok...sorry for the rant...

Well, it seems it doesn't rain, it pours :( Ben now has a double ear infection and is on antibiotics for the first time ever. At least they seem to be working :) Hopefully this new month will be a better one for us, I kinda just want to write-off April!

Oh no Dis - glad the medicine is working though!!! Poor little munchkin...

We're ok here...other than the kids being sick - Ethan seems ok, Louis is pretty much better and Dylan is still a bit sick...oh and I've woken up with a stuffy nose...Looks like I'm next on the list!! It was inevitable I think!! LOL! Off to do some deliveries today...

Beau is getting better I think, only two bad nappies today so far and the GP gave me some cream that I am mixing with canesten and its cleared his bum right up:D I am still flu-ey but feel like i'm getting a bit better! Not allowed to get excited until at least the 12wk mark....:pray:
Kris - You are right, I had the flu three times when PG with Beau, there must be something in that? Hope you get over it fast and the boys are on the mend?

Us-Well James has been a nightmare he refuses to sleep have had 3 hours sleep and to top it off he refuses to wear a nappy will just strip off straight away so I can not tell you how many wees and poos I have had to clean from the carpet?Right now he is sitting near me screaming because I have forced him to get dressed and wont let him take his clothes off?.All this on a day that I have to be some where and need the kids to be on there best behaviour. AARRGGHHHHH

Us- well! I am up. Yesterday Olivia had a fall in my car while I was putting Beccas seat back in ( had to wash it coz shes a mighty chucker). She hit her head on the corner of the seat ( well I am guessing). She screamed, so I took her inside and she felll asleep with some milk. 2 hours later when I went to wake her, I was stroking her head and she has this big egg on her head and a bruise. Ouch. At least I could wake her. Coz she slept in the arvo, she didnt want to go to sleep so we watch Spy Kids. First big movie she enjoyed and kept saying it was funny. I put her to bed, didnt want to sleep so at 930 we went to my bed andfell asleep (dh at a party). Woke up at 1130 to put her back to bed. Woke up for Beccas feed at 1230 til 115...shes fussing so much with her bottle at the moment. Got woken up by Olivia at 230...she cried coz dh was sleeping in our bed where she had fallen asleep. More milk for Olivia and I had to go nigh nighs next to her coz she followed me out the door. Then she slept next to me on the floor. I woke up at 430 and out her back into her bed, came to our bed and at 615 becca is awake for yet another feed. And fussed again so hasnt finished it and is happily chatting on the floor as I type.
I have started Bec on solids a few days ago, hopefully that will settle her sleep down. Although I've forgotton wht to do next. Shes taking the rice cereal well and I only give it to her once a day. Now what??? Do I give it twice a day and see how she goes or do I give her something different? It seems like so long ago I did this!

Anyway, I will see you today Kris and Kaz. Thanks for the ear.

Just a quick one from me!!

Mel & Kaz - I'm so looking forward to seeing you guys today!! Kids are basically all better now...But feral to the max! LOL!

Mel - Ethan's on 3 solid meals a day already! LOL! He's porked up a bit from it now as well which is good - When I say 3 meals - he's not to fussed with brekky so just had a bit of mushed banana/apple or I pureed a tinned fruit yesterday cos I ran out of fresh fruit!! Lunch is usually rice cereal, fruit & a bit of formula mixed in and dinner is pumpkin, carrot, broccoli, potato mush...Oh and now he we tried him out on a little bit of cheese in it and so far so good!! Next week I'm going to introduce yoghurt...then he'll have a veggie meal for lunch as well as some yog...I think he's having a bit too much sweets at the moment and not enough veg...Oh and I think you can even start chicken from 6m as well...I can't quite remember...

Sorry to hear of your rotten sleep Mel - I'm in such a bad habit of going to bed too late at the moment - I haven't had more than 5 or 6 hours sleep (each night) since I had my big sleep on Mon night...I must have an early one tonight...My problem is it's the only time the house is peaceful so I can actually focus on some work or whatever...

Von - Aww - hope James settles down for you soon!

Jen - Hope you guys are all better now! How are you feeling!!! I'm so happy for you! Aww might be a little christmas baby!!

Mel *hugs* sounds like a horrid night, that's one thing I'm not looking forward to again if we get preggers! Olivia & Pip can compare egg=lumps today....

Yesterday we went around looking at kitchen stuff, and poor Pip didn't get to fall asleep until after 4pm .. he slept through till 3am when we changed his nappy & gave him some milk, DH put him back to his cot at 4am and he slept through until 8! Well, then he took off his nappy, doh.

So today we're off to the Lilydale farmers' markets, then to Kris' and tupperware goodness :D
Puffing Billy train race today, so my front nature strip is getting wrecked by people parking on it ...

Hi girls. A busy weekend here. I took J to his first footy game yesterday :) Craig had soccer and J's such a pig it's too hard to express enough for more than a couple of hours. I took my 9 yo nephew with me too. It was lovely! J loved it! He was yelling and laughing through two quarters, slept through one quarter and pretty much fed through the other :lol: He's definitely my social bubba :) Ben spent the day with my SIL and loved it. Her boys have a big table with all the Thomas Wooden Railway stuff and he left the room for a total of five minutes all day according to my SIL :lol:

I'm so jealous of you girls going to Kris' Tupperware party. I need some more and would love to go to a party right now! Hope you all had fun :)

Von, you poor thing. James sounds like he's sure being a handful right now with his illness and the nappies. Thankfully, Ben doesn't seem too interested in going without a nappy. He has never tried to take it off *touch wood*.
How's Natasha coping with you needing to give so much attention to James?

Okay, gotta go feed one of the boys. They're both asking for food right now. Both at the same time as usual!!!

Had a great time yesterday, thanks Kris, good to see the boys and great to see you too Kaz and Pip. I wish we had loads of spare cash as I would have got more.

Olivias bump has got slightly smaller thank goodness! Its still very bruised though. Sleep last night was just as fun as the night before...actually its been going like this for the past 2 weeks. I will give Becca an evenoing meal tonight and see if that helps. I added banana to her rice cereal today. She was up twice for a feed last night. Olivia slept from 9til 5am then fell asleep on he couch after some comotion (sp?) till 830. I am buggered and my body is sore from sleeping on the floor and feeding constantly...well it feels like it anyway!!

Is anyone toilet training yet? Every morning and sometimes at night we do nappy free time and Olivia does wees and poos in the potty and even asked to get out of the bath to wee in the toilet! Only thing is I cant get her to wear undies!!!! its nappy or no nappy and thats it!

Ok, better go and put washing out and get lunch and....you know!!!!

Thank you so much Kaz & Mel for coming yesterday - it was so great to see you and the kids!!! I'm really looking forward to another catch up to deliver your tupperware - LOL hope you're not in trouble for shopping!!

Kaz - Patrick is just so gorgeous!! Such a quiet little boy...very placid (although that could have just been the new surroundings!! LOL) I'm glad he had lots of fun running around!! LOL at him being asleep so quickly on the way home - you wouldn't have known he was so tired!!

Mel - Omg Becca is soooo gorgeous - I can't get over all of her hair! What a cruisy baby she is also!! Olivia did so well asleep on the couch with all the noise as well! Although, I'm surprised Dylan slept so long in his room also!
Glad Olivias lump has gone down a bit...Poor little thing - I can't believe how big it was...gosh that must have hurt!!
Wow on the toilet training - that's fantastic - maybe you could try pull-ups?? Dylan can do wees on the toilet but he's not fussed and prefers his nappy on also - although he did ask to go last night but didn't really do anything!! I'm trying to get Louis night trained first then I'll get into the day training with Dylan...

Had a relatively early night of 11.30pm - LOL! Ethan hardly fed while everyone was around though so had 2 feeds overnight and thought it was awake time at 5am - I don't think so - so took me about 30min to get him back to sleep and then he slept in until 8am - Thats better!!! The boys let me snooze with him so I didn't get out of bed until 9am!! I couldn't believe it - Louis had got a yoghurt for him and Dylan so they werent hungry and were happy watching tv...LOL!

Heaps of running around and work to do today so I better get organised! (something you all know I'm not very good at judging by the state of my house - LOL!) - Chat later...

Its still pretty miserable at ours - Beau has diorehhea still (not as bad tho), they found nothing in the test from his sample but now he has come out in ulcers on his mouth and I know he has them inside but he wont let me look - he wont eat and even milk hurts him - I have just made another doctors appt for this afternoon - hopefully will get some antibiotics. I am feeling ok - no m/s or anything. Just have this wretched cold still but am more worried about Beau....
Mel - Sorry about poor Olivia bumping her head and sleeping so badly for you. Glad her bump is going down a little....wow - no toilet training here! Think we are a ways off! I went 10days over with Beau and was induced, had over a day in labour then an emergency cesar - I am opting for a cesar this time regardless. I am a bit fretful about going to the hospital up here though and am toying with going back to RPA but it might be way to much hassle.
Kaz- Wow thats a big sleep for PIp!! Far out!
Kris - Your tupperware party sounds like a hit! Ethan is doing great guns by the sounds of it! I am in bed at 9pm every night and I only have Beau LOL!
Dis - I can just picture you guys at the footy! Hilarious! He is so social as you say. Thats super cute with Ben and the Thomas train set!
Its B's b'day on Sunday so we got him some pressies yesterday, a cookie monster back pack and medical kit and some duplo - and some shoes and I will get him some more matchbox cars I think too. Not a big one, we are spending all our money on our house atm and started painting it on Saturday..yay!! Bit of a snowball effect though unfortunately...new front door etc etc etc!
Ok, a plastic clothes hanger just fell off the spare bed and woke beau up after 30min GRRRRR!!! Wish me luck at the docs!

Mel, no chance of toilet training here. Ben's gross and will sit in a pooey nappy for hours if we don't smell it! Even in cloth - yuk!

We had a good day for most of the day here until Ben cracked it and woke up Craig :( I gave him a Tim Tam after half an hour of crying and it did the trick, I think he needed a sugar hit! Now as I'm sitting here we have Craig and Ben playing with all the trains next to me. I don't know who has more fun :lol:

Soryy I haven't been around much, I just have no time! We are all well here.

Dis, How cute J sounds at the footy. My mum just knitted Liam a jumper and beanie (though Lily's claimed the beanie I think!) in DH's teams colours. He looks so cute in them. DH just has to take him to the footy now!
Isn't it always the way, the kids want stuff at the same time, happens here too.I swear they see me with the other one, and then want me just because I'm with the other one, kwim?? Lily definately does it. I see her happily playing and then if I go near Liam or pick him up, she strats whinging! Little miss she is! And she's teaching Liam bad habbits too, cause I'm pretty sure he did it today too...:rolleyes:

Mel, we had a few weeks of really bad nights too. Though it seems to have settled down the past few nights *Kel knocks on wood* (don't want to jinx myself). Liam has only been waking twice for a feed and Lily once a night. She even slept a whole night in her own bed the other night, WOOOHOOOO! That's the first time in months!!!! Maybe even a year? I can't remember the last time she did it. The sleeplessness and tiredness is the worst though!
WIth toilet training, I am following Lil's lead. I just put her on when she asks. Thats usually before a bath and sometimes when she sees me sitting on the toilet. She often runs around nappyless, though she just pee's on the floor if she needs to :doh: I'm not too worried yet though. I was going to do it, but it's just too time consuming a the moment, and I am time poor!!

Kris, I agree, you need to go to bed earlier! I'm usually in bed by no later than 10.30, and that's a late nite! Sometimes it's as early as 8.00....but then, my kids are out of bed at 5am some mornings, and I'm up way too many times a night. And I luuuvrrrve my sleep, the only way I can get any is to go to bed early!

Jen, sorry to hear B is sick. I hope the dr found the cause of it. Poor little monkey.
Glad to hear you're well with your pg. Do you know how far along you are, or is it only a few weeks?? I'm so excited for you...I have to live vicariously now, DH is not going to let me have another bub...:( Though I'm not sure if I really want one, just the clucky feeling won't go away!
