Hi girls, I'm around, just super busy. I have an assignemnt due in a tomorrow days and I'm barely half way through it. I just don't get the time on my own and when I try to do it with the kids around, even with dh here, I just can't concerntrate.
And yep, I'm soooo over the rain too. We'v e had enough now!!
-
Love the new ticker picture Kel :) What a great smile from Liam and Lil's hair is so gorgeous and long - she's such a big girl now :)
-
So quiet in here!
We've been having a lovely few days. DH and I are just having a little bit of time playing on the computers right now while Jared is asleep and Ben is re-arranging his train track :)
We've had a good few days. It's so good having DH home with us. Yesterday I went to pick up Ben's walker from my bro and SIL and had a visit with them and then we did some shopping. Jared is so much happier now that he can spend the day upright. It was killing me having to carry him around all day, he'd have to be getting close to 9kgs right now and my back just can't handle it.
We got up last night to watch the soccer. Pretty boring match I have to say, but at least Australia are through to the WC now :)
Ben has been Mr Bratty-pants every morning. Talking back, not listening to what we say and just yelling for no reason! I think the terrible twos are upon us!
-
Hi all,
Well, DH has gone away for work for 4 days....eeeekkkkk!!!!!!!! I'm so daunted by 4 days and 3 nights all alone....I know we'll probably be fine, but I just dread doing it all alone :( He left and 2.30 and I'm lonely already! I don't even have any more studies to do. I finished my LAST assignement on Friday, yaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!! So good, but it makes me feel a little...empty I think! I've been studying for sooo long now, to not have to do it feels strange, lol!
Kids have been good, though I think Lil might be getting a bit sick again. She sniffly and coughing again. This will be the third cold she's had in about 5 weeks  They are both asleep at the moment. Lil is on the lounge and Li in his bed. It's going to be a late night! I will wake Lil soon though. She fell asleep in the car on the way home from mums (it's a 10min trip!!) and then woke when we came upstairs and wouldn't go back to sleep. So naturally she conked out now....I was trying to keep her awake til 6pm at least, but I was preparing dinner and she flaked out in front of the wiggles in about 2 mins! Oh well never mind....
Dis, I love my ticker pic too. And yep, they are both growing so quickly it's scary!! I feeling that need for another baby again...though it won't be happening cause DH is pretty against another bub. I think for me it's just kind of innate, and I feel the need just because I can, not necessarily because I reallly want another baby...I don't know how to explain it! Though one more might be nice, lol!
DH stayed up to watch the soccer too. We stayed at mums cause she has optus. I have to say I think you're both insane to get up at 2am to watch soccer....though he was mighty happy that Aus made the WC too. We are well into the terrible twos as well. We've been there for about 8mths now!! Lily is such a little miss sometimes!
Ok, well, hi to everyone, I hope you're all well. And enjoying your long weekend!
-
Hey hey everybody.....
It has been quiet in here! Ummm just sitting in our sunroom watching DH try out his new waders in the lake - he looks ridiculous but the water is so cold now its the only way he can fish out there! Beau has the flu as of yesterday, recently he has been waking every hour or so, crying, coming into our room, I feel like I have a newborn again! It may have been the cold coming on - he was better last night, didnt stir till around 4am, once he is better again, it will be tough mummy again! He will be getting marched back into bed! Sleeps in the day have been hit and miss, I think the PG tired ness has hit me now too and I am finding it hard to cope, it is lovely having DH here for four days (sorry Kel), its just nice having those consecutive wake ups together and pottering around the house getting things done!:D
Dis - Yep, I agree with Kel, you guys are nuts getting up to watch sport! Your DH must be wrapped you love footy and soccer so much! Must be a few less arguments around your place because of it! Terrible twos have descended here aswell, that said, beau has been pretty good even though he is sick. Jared must love being able to burn around now after his bro, too cute with Ben and his trains, that boy is obsessed! We have recently started here with matchbox cars and they are pretty big atm, as well as "the upside down show" and "trotro" (which I hate!)
Kel - Congratulations on finishing your assignments! You musn't know yourself now! You poor thing being home alone for four days, get some good chick flicks out that your DH would hate and eat lots of yummy food too! Your ticker pic is adorable, Lily looks 2 going on 20! Hope she shakes the cold too soon, Liam is such a little man now! How are you going with the sleeping?
-
Hi everyone, we have been away this weekend up at Maldon for a relaxing yet busy time. We did some bush bashing and visiting friends and just stuff! So am feeling pretty good...besides having to come home to several loads of washing and rain! I have put Olivia to bed and read her a story and rubbed her back. She wouldnt go to sleep as she slept for 2 hours on the way home. So I told her I had to go to the loo and didnt go back....cant hear her so am hoping shes put herself to sleep:) Shes been in the terrible 2 s for ages now and it got better but at times its very trying! Everything is yucky now and she has a real attitude. I am wanting to toilet train her but cant get her to wear undies...any tips? Ok got to run the other one is crying. Oh Jen...hows the pg going???? Any updates?
-
Yes Jen, please let us know how things are going. Isn't your hossy appointment this week or next?
Mel, bummer about the washing and weather. It looks like the rain has finally left us here. Glad to hear you had a nice weekend away.
No tips for toilet training from me. I'm afraid Ben will probably still be in nappies when he's 12 at the rate he's going!
Jen, DH and I do not follow the same sport  I grew up watching AFL (yep even in Sydney, my dad use to play for a local team) and even played it for a few years when the women's comp started. DH is a rugby league boy through and through, although he's more into soccer these days, which I also played and can watch, although footy is my first sporting love :)
How's Beau doing? It's so hard to be firm with them when they're sick, but they do wear on your patience too.
Kel, congrats on finishing the studying!!! How did you go on the weekend by yourself? I actually find that I lose it with the kids more when DH is home. When I'm by myself I kinda think "well, nobody else is going to deal with it" and just get on with it. I'm strange I know
We had a bad night here last night. We went to the in-laws all day yesterday, I think they forget what it's like to have kids who still nap. Ben won't sleep anywhere but in his own bed which makes it a bit difficult if we're out. He was a monster this morning. Went back to bed before 11am which is VERY early for him these day. Jared was also out of synch because he only had two short naps yesterday. He was up between 2am and 5am! The joys! Thankfully we have nothing planned this week so we can bum around if need be, and as it turns out, we needed too
I'm hoping to head out to the library and park this afternoon, but I'm having trouble dealing with the cold, so I don't know if I will. I'm also a bit paranoid about Jared getting sick again. He's a big, strong boy, but the doctor said he might be prone to bronchiolitis for a few years :( so that's always in the back of my mind. Thank goodness the rain has gone though!!!!
-
Hey All....
WOW it is freezzzinngg here! We went out before to do some gardening and lasted 15minutes! Beau and I both have colds (again) so I didnt want to risk anything worse I guess. Seems the flu is my pregnancy curse! Feeling ok otherwise regarding PG, my first appointment is next Thursday at the hospital. Will make it all seem real I hope!
Beau had his immunisations yesterday for 18months (slack I know, I blame the move!), he was very brave and it was pretty easy, but today he is pretty cranky and I just had a meltdown before at him cause he ripped up one of my baby photos (of me) Didnt reach him in time:doh: I was crying too (I blame hormones!) and he was running around after me for a cuddle grrrr!
His sleeping has gone back to normal at night touch wood, at he is waking around 6:30 which is bareable, if only I didnt have to pee three times a night and it takes me FOREVER to get back to sleep - ugh I remember that didnt start till the third trimester with Beau.....and DH gets up at 5am so I shouldnt whinge!
Dis - Ah hah! I knew it couldnt be that you both like the same sport! That would be too easy! I dont blame you being wary with taking Jared out either in this weather, better to be safe than sorry some times.Just rug the boys up nice and toasty when you do - poor Beau looks like an eskimo in winter! Must be from being a winter baby, never really got over it I think! I know what you mean about pepole 'forgetting' what its like with certain aspects of having babies, its so hard trying to keep routines up when you are out and about. Beau fell asleep in the car yesterday and had half an hour all day...I think I am paying for it today! Ick at Jared being up for 3hrs in the middle of the night! Poor you!
Mel- No undie tips from me! I think I will be waiting for summer to even attempt with Beau. Yucky is a big word around here too - as well as "No like"! Thats great you got away for the weekend - at least you had some peace in the car on the way home with Olivia asleep! I like your "just going to the loo" trick! Nice one!:D
-
Hey I have asick little moo here, poor Becca has been running a temp since yesterday morning. I took her to the dr with me today to have a check up....while I had the dreaded pap smear! Shes just got a virus and is finally asleep on the lounge room floor. Last night the girls went to sleep at 5pm and both woke at 7pm and didnt go down til almost 11pm so it was a long night. I need to keep Olivia awake today so I can have some us time (2 hours for dinner was nice last night).
Jen glad things are going well with the pg sorry to hear youre not well again. Its freezing here too and has been raining most of the day and last night.
Mel- I was just thinking....how did Jared go with that testing earlier on? I dont remember if you told us? Did you get to the library? I hate going out in this weather and I dont have much left in the food department. I might duck out now DH is home (he is sick too).
-
Mel, we never heard back about his results, which means he tested okay. The disease they were testing him for stunts their growth too, so at about 9kgs and over 65cms at not-quite 5 months, I think it's fair to say he doesn't have it
-
:DHe he Dis - I think you might be right somehow!
-
Hi girlies,
Well, we' ve been a bit quiet lately. How are you all going??
We are doing ok. Liam is teething but that's my biggest complaint at the moment! Sleeping is still an issue, but thats nothing new!! We only has 2 wake ups(...or was it 3??) last night, and up at 6.45. The nights are all blending into one! I try not to think about it or dwell on it too much or I get depressed.
Lily is being pretty gorgeous at the moment, except for the odd tanty. She is learning so much at the moment and stuns me with things she does an says sometimes! She was helping me with the cleaning this morning and was soing a great job too! She is just devine and I could kiss her to death! She's growing way too quickly.
The kids are both asleep at the mo and DH is at soccer. I finally have a minute to myself. I feel like it's been so long since Ive had time to be alone. Especially with DH going away last week. And to top it all off he worked two night shifts when he got home! But he's of for 6days now, so I will be cashing in, so to speak!! LOL. I think I deserve some me time. I love it when their sleeps co-inside! (sp??)
Anyhow, I'm gonna go and try to get some more cleaning done....in peace!
-
Hey Kel- lets celebate coinciding sleeps:)
Olivia went to bed tonight at 620...after a fun filled and active day at the park with her friends then back to their place to play. Lets hope she stays asleep...she didnt last time though! Rebecca had a cat nap too so that I could clean the dishess and floor. Bec is taking finger food well...tonightwas steamed cauli, broccoli, beans and carrot. All over the floor but she managed to chomp away. At the minute she has really loose poo so I am wondering if she has a tummy bug or shes starting to teeth. I would have said teething prior to tonights poo coz It was pretty watery. But she seems to be quite content, so I dont know! Any thoughts?
DH is at the snow today...should be home soon. Just enjoying quiet time while Becs relatively calm.
-
Mel, Jared is starting to teeth too. He only seems bothered at night though, just before bedtime. I remember with Ben that it used to come in waves, where he could seem fine for most of the day and then get hit with a horrible hour or two. Maybe Becca's going through something similar?
How did you go last night? Did Olivia stay down for the count or was she up again?
Kel, Lil sounds gorgeous! I'm really enjoying this time too. They are just total sponges right now and it's amazing how quickly they pick things up.
Good luck in getting time off this weekend - you totally deserve it! Send your DH off with the kids for a few hours and enjoy a nice, relaxing bath and a nap if you can manage it. Forget about the housework for a day :)
Jen, not long until your appointment now! Exciting stuff! Make sure you come in here on Thursday night or Friday and let me know how you went.
Hi everybody else!
Us, well we had the best night ever last night! Jared slept for 8 hours and then four hours! Unbelievable! Ben slept for 12 hours too, although he woke up when I got up to Jared and asked for more milk, but he didn't get up and was asleep again in no time. I woke up feeling SO refreshed this morning, it was bizarre  Of course, I've mopped half the house, done three loads of washing, the washing up and started dinner, so I've probably overdone it  Oh well, it had to be done :)
Mum is coming over for a visit tomorrow. It's my birthday and otherwise I would have been alone with the boys all day as DH works at his second job on Tuesdays. My birthday just doesn't seem to matter anymore - to me anyway. My sister and I were talking about it the other day and I had to ask her how old I was turning  I'd aged myself an extra year. As I said to her, the number doesn't matter to me, it's how old I feel, and most days I feel 97  I'm hoping that the boys will have another awesome night tonight so that I only feel 90 tomorrow :)
-
HAppy Birthday for tomorrow Mel. Have a great day:)
Olivia woke up around 830 after falling out of bed, but she stayed up for a banana shake coz she was starving....that kid eats more than I do! She went back to bed at 9 and I didnt see her til 8 this morning:) Becca however was up a few times! I think shes teething, mostly shes fine, still has real soft poos and is off her milk and solids. Sometimes she gulps things down, other times she sticks her nose up.
Well I am here on my own as dh is at tafe tonight. I manage to feed them, clean up, ath them, shower me and tell Olivia a story. Shes asleep now, so I need to go feed Rebecca soon as shes not had a great deal this evening....not for the want of trying!
Hope everyone is well.....
-
Mel, the kids seems to be sleeping ok for me at the moment. Liam only woke once last night, yay!!! But my boobs were sooo full in the morning and drowned him when he eventually woke for a feed at 645 this morning! But that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make if I get that kind of sleep every night! I hope it's all good at your house too, and that you had a good night.
Dis, didn't really get any time off. Dh played soccer again, so no time then, but he did take Lily to his friends house to watch footy, and Lil played with her boyfriend, Isaac. So I kinda got a rest, but not, cause I still had Li. I tried to convince DH to take him too but he wouldn't :(
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you get spoilt!!! I'm feeling pretty old at the mo too. I think it's being so tired and rundown. I look older and well just feel....not 30!
Well, I had another day off work yesterday cause I have conjunctivitis, again! I've only ever had it once before and now I've had it twice in a month! I haven't got it bad, but it's bad enough that I shouldn't go to work (not with little kids anyway!). I will today though. I probably shouldn't but I can't keep on having so much time off, and I have no sick leave left, I'm using my long service leave!!
Anyway, going to start getting things ready for work...
-
Hey Ladies....
Everything is goig ok here, sleep is ok, cough has settled down so not waking himself up anymore, a nightmare last night I think but he self settled after a few min.
We just had a little friend over for a playdate, Beau is seriously afraid of other kids now. He used to love them but has been hit/pushed a few times at playgroup and cant handle it - I dont know what to do?:dunno:
Yay appointment on Thursday, a bit nervous but I feel better now cos Dh is going to take the moring off to look after B, I called the hospital and they said first appointments take at least and hour and a half and there is no way he would last that long!! So that alleviated some of the worry! No scan though, is 18wks the first? I cant remember!
Dis/Mel - Happy Birthday! Thats good youre having a nice day with your mum - Birthdays are such a non event now arent they? We make such a big deal about our kids but ours.....hope you feel under ninety today anyway! Sorry you have a crappy rainy one. Congrats on the big sleeps the other night - woo hoo! I will def come on and let you know how I went at the appt.
Kel - Hope your eye is getting better now. Bah at DH not taking Liam too! Stinky sport! Glad he had a big sleep for you. Glad you are enjoying Lily so much - I love those times when you are so in love with them and they are such a joy!
Mel- Hugs to poor Becca teething - poor thing. Olivia sounds like the litle social butterfly bless her! At least it tuckers her out for you! LOL!
Hope everyone is well, Kris and Kaz havnt been on in ages - too busy on facebook maybe?!!!??:D
-
Have been trying to avoid posting after myself but here goes!
Had first appt yesterday, all went well, except they buggered up the labelling of my bloods so I have to go back and do it again. The midwife was really nice and had no problems accepting my decision of elective cesar when I explained Beau's birth, then when she got my birth history from RPA she was positive! I never knew his Apgar score was 1 when he was born and he didnt breath for 2 whole minutes, shows you how out of it I was and why DH wouldnt look at me! Have booked a Nuchal scan for Monday afternoon, very nervous!
Beau is great, his Nanna and Pop looked took him to playgroup yesterday while I had my appt and he was great for them! He is being super adorable atm and I love his parrot talking :)
Hope everyone is doing well in the cold
-
 :happyforyou: YAAAAAYYYYY Jen!!!!!!!!! That's great news to hear that bubs is going well. Must be such a relief! I'm soooo happy for you
-
Jen, that's great that your midwife is supportive of the birth you want :)
How scary that Beau's score was 1 when he was born! Bet you're glad you didn't know that at the time. Don't stress about the NT scan. You'll get to see your bubba for the first time! Hooray!
We're going great here. Jared really is in his groove now with nighttime sleeps. He pretty much sleeps 9pm until 9am, waking up for a feed somewhere in the night. This morning he slept until 10am!
Ben is getting louder  That's the best way to describe him right now. Very boisterous. Tonnes of energy and just getting louder and louder
All good here though - I got a bath to myself tonight (after DH got Jared out) and then we went out to dinner for my birthday - a few days late, but better late than never :) A nice day :)
-
Hellllooooo!!!!!!
It's' been so long since I've been on!! I haven't even been reading - I'm so sorry!!!!!
I hope you're all well - I thought I'd post quickly and then have a read through!!
xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
ETA:
Disgirl - Happy Belated Birthday!! Yeah on a bath - sounds great!!
Jen - Yeah!! I'm so glad to hear everythings going well for you!! Good luck for your appt on Mon - I'm sure it will be all great!!
Poor Beau getting pushed around - nothing that a little brother or sister won't sort out for him I'm sure - LOL! That soon toughens them up when they start fighting over toy! Louis and Dylan have taken to super wrestling lately the little ratbags...in saying that they are gentle around other kids though!!
Sounds like it's a good idea to have him around friendly little kids - remember they're still at an age where they're happy playing alongside others not necessarily "with" kids...A good tactic I taught the boys is to put their hand up and say "stop" when someones doing something they don't like - if little else it usually grabs the attention of a nearby adult...I think it does make them feel a little stronger though, like they do have something they can do to help stop the behaviour without resorting to hitting back etc...
LOL at me being too busy on facebook - I do jump on a lot - it's just quick for me! LOL! and yes I am a bit addicted...
-
Part 2...
Us: We're well - boys are all sick at the moment...Ethan has a bit of a nasty cough so will prob take him to the dr's tomorrow...better get him checked over.
He's so nearly crawling and pulled himself up to standing on the couch today!! He's such a cheeky little boy but is just absolutely gorgeous!! He's settled down a lot although we had a shocker of a night last night...will definitely be heading to bed soon as I'm sooo tired...
Louis is well - little cheeky is starting to spell out words and it dying to be able to read!! He's such a clever little thing and we really can't trick him anymore - Michael was trying to get him to eat chicken and offered him some of his own plate and he just looks at him completely stupidly and says "Dad, it's the same chicken" LOL!
Dylan is my cheeky bum - he is really starting to put everything together - he read me the number 1-10 last night in his book - I was so proud! He's one of those kids that if you ask him to do something that's when he won't do it!! Cheeky thing...He gives the best kisses and cuddles when he wants to...he really is a gorgeous little boy...I really do love this age minus the tantrums! hehe.
I'm well...had a few issues with my cycle etc so I'm off the mini pill at the moment...very carefully may I add - we're just waiting to get the money together and Michaels getting the snip!! I'm actually looking forward to when we don't have to worry about it anymore and I dont' have to worry about the pill. We've definitely decided that this is enough kiddies!! I don't think I can give to another child what I've given to these 3 - Bfing for 12 months each and being tied to them for that time without much of a break is a lot and I think I'd lose my marbles well and truly if I went around for no.4!!
Kel - Yeah on Liam sleeping so well - hope he keeps it up for you!! Bugger on the conjunct. I hope you're feeling better!! Congratulations on finishing your assignment - what a relief thats all done!!
Disgirl - I know birthdays don't seem that big a deal anymore to me either...I think it's because we don't place enough importance on them - we're always running around looking after everyone else that we place ourselves last. I didn't want mine at home this year so we went out for lunch - cost too much but then I probably would have spent the same if not more on feeding everyone at home and then I would have had to clean up as well - LOL!!!
Mel - I hear you on the food consumption!! LOL! My kids are eating me out of house and home sometimes - I spent $350 on food this week! LOL! Although hopefully it will last longer than the week...Wow at Becca doing well on finger food - Ethan gags and throws it up - doesn't like lumps at all! LOL! Oh well..it all takes time...Poor Becca getting sick - I hope he's all better now poor little thing....
Hmmm - regarding undies - have you let her choose some fun designs to wear?? or even just get some of her favourite characters?? We're tt Dylan - he's doing really well but for the moment when we're home he just runs around in the nuddy!! Easiest way to train I think...I've taken him out a few times and he's done really well - a few accidents but that's to be expected...
Ok...that's enough from me...I need to get to bed!! Chat later!
-
Kris, great to hear from you! Good to hear that things are going well for you and all your boys. Hope they all make a speedy recovery.
Isn't this age (2) great for kisses and cuddles? Ben came up to me on Thursday night as I was feeding Jared, put his arms around my neck, gave me the biggest kiss and cuddle and said "Wuv oo mummy!" I'm get teary just thinking about it again!
Good work on TT Dylan. Ben is still a long, long way off being ready.
-
Hi!
Dis - Aww how cute!! It's definitely those moments that make all the hard ones worthwhile!! LOL!
Having a quiet day today...I'm feeling like I'm getting a bit of a sore throat now so I hope I don't get sick as well! Am off to crawl into bed and have a read and a snooze as Michaels on daddy duty until 5pm!!
Had a great morning with the boys though - have tried a few new discipline tactics and it's working quite well so far...Nothing major but just keeping the boys organised and avoiding the battle to get everything done - especially with Dylan as most things turn into an argument because everything I ask he says "NO"...He is 2 after all and he's been arguing with us since he was 1 so we knew we were going to be in for a rough ride - LOL!
For any of you interested - there's a parenting guy called "Michael Grose" and he is brilliant!! You can google him and look up his website - Parenting Ideas...he also does seminars and has a lot of books and workbooks etc...I really align with him on most of his parenting ideas and find that a lot of what he suggests really works!!
Anyway...enjoy your weekends...chat later!
-
HEy all
Jen am glad everything went well, must be a weight off your mind. Wow at b's apgar score how scary. So do they set a date this early or wait til later???
Mel- glad your bday was good. They are beautiful at this age. Olivia says I luff you mummy and gives me kisses. Now she does it to DH after a few weeks of not wanting much to do with him. Hes so chuffed! Glad J is doing well with sleep. Its nice isnt it! Rebecca is getting there andOlivia is pretty good, so cant complain.
Kris-good to hear from you although hope you are all better soon. Thanks for the tt tips but I already got the special upsey daisy undies that she chose and she wont have a bar of them! She is great though, she will run around with no nappy and stop doing what shes doing to go to the potty. Now she tells me to change her nappy. As with the food...does it stop??? Last night she had a big bowl of spag bol as well as some mash potato and pumkin then she had a bowl of custard with a choccie frog and then she was asing for more food at bed time...starving. I made her a banana milk shake and she finished that off and screamed more, so she had another 3/4 of a glass of shake....needless to say she had a full nappy this morning. She had a bowl of porrige and toast today and hasnt stopped! Imagine if she was a boy....
Kel- hows your eyes? Sounds like you your kids are starting to get better.
Kaz hows the ttc going?
We are at my dads now then have to go to BIL for dinner. Better get off but chat soon:)
-
Hey Ladies :)
Sorry to hear that everyone's feeling poorly, there are a lot of bugs going round at the moment.
Mel - TTC didn't work this month - and (TMI WARNIGN!!!) it's the heaviest period I've ever had, I'm need ing to change Supers every 1/2 hour!
Must say, Olivia sounds so cute. And they definately go through phases with food, I'm trying to reduce the amount of dairy that he has, DH gives him bottle of milk after bottle of milk to get him to sleep! This evening is the Lantern festival, almost time to wake him before his special friend comes over for us to go down to the Main St so he's ready ...
Jen - I can't believe B's agpar scores! You'd think they'd tell you in the hospital! Glad all went well ... apart from the mucking up of bloods. Can you believe about the NT scan? They don't do them in the USA I read, they do amnios, so much more invasive! wow. Hope all is OK for you this pregnancy!
Us - well Pip is definatly terrible and 2. His latest thing is wanting to choose the route we drive home from CC! Anyhows, best go get ourselves dressed!
-
Hi!
Mel - It's great Olivia's using the potty well - the rest will just take time...maybe pull ups for heading out and about?
Wow - maybe she's going through a growth spurt at the moment! Is she drinking much water?? I know sometimes when your thirsty you actually fell ike your hungry - iykwim?? I read somewhere they should be having about 4 cups of water a day now at this age - I struggle to get Dylan to drink that much through the day so he's usually up all night wanting water...
Enjoy your evening!!
Kaz - You poor thing with such a heavy af...what a bugger - good luck for next month though!!
Enjoy the lantern festival - I haven't heard of it before!!
Just noticed the link to raising a happy child in your signature - great book - I have a few by him - raising boys is good and I've got the secrets of happy children...
We're having a quiet night in - am going to cook Hokkien noodle stir fry! I've been getting into a bit of cooking and baking at the moment considering the lack of funding I have to do any shopping or go out and have fun - LOL! The kids are loving it though and I'm enjoying making some yummy stuff! I've been so addicted to watching Masterchef as well - not that I'm sometimes into the real gourmet stuff but it has definitely made me want to cook more!
Oh - and am getting super excited - Michael and I are off to the Pink concert on Wed night!! It will be our first music concert ever together and a night out to ourselves!!!
Chat later!
-
oh wow, very jealous of Pink Kris! We bought our new stove, I can't wait to have a kitchen again so I can cook!
Hey ladies, how does one go about finding a babysitter?
-
Hi!
Kaz - Yeah on a new stove!! That will be nice!
Hmm...not sure on getting a babysitter - I haven't got one except my mum on occasion - some people I know have asked the girls that work at creche because they are familiar with the kids and thats worked out well for them - otherwise word of mouth - or you could try an agency...I guess it depends what your comfortable with! Otherwise if I'm free I'll have Pip!! LOL!!
Just watched Transformers DVD with Michael - expected it to be awful but it wasn't too bad...now Ethans up with a snuffly nose and cough...hmmm - not expecting too much sleep tonight!!
Chat later!

Me free too Kaz...dunno about the sitter though. Sorry af is heavy better luck next month.
Kris- becca is in my arms now...wont go to sleep. We just had a delightful trip home as olivia doesnt like her new car seat...maxi ider and wanted to get out...open door mummy! So she screamed for 30 minutes and some and i finally just got her to sleep.
ok will talk again soon arm is falling off!
-
Mel - given the choice between maxirider or his convertable baby car-seat, he'll take the baby car-seat. Wonder what it is? Maybe cause its not as inclined?
Thanks for the offers ladies, I'm after someone I can have on a monthly basis here @ home so dh & I can do "date night" once a month.
-
Kaz I think thats it....i have the maxi rider on recline but its still not really reclined and yesterday she fell asleep and her head kept floping forward. Then dh reclined the cars actual seat and that helped but when she woke up she didnt like it recline so far...i dont know what to do! Hope se will get used to it soon.
Had a shocker of a night. Think I will have to stay home for a few days and get both these girls back into a good sleeep routine.. Olivia definately gets stuffed up with a day sleep and Rebecca has only been sleeping for an hour a day....
Well take care all.

Hi girls,
So great to hear from everyone! I feel like a bit of a looser sometimes cause I come in here and noone has been here for such a long time, besides me, I usually just check in and go then, lol!! In my buddies thread for Liam, it's sooo slow! So much slower than ours was at that stage, when we were mostly sahm's. Now we are all working and have more bubba's it's so busy sometimes....anyway I'm rambling now!
I guess just feel like I have no life at the moment. Anyone else? I don't do stuff for me. I don't go out don't have friends I just go and see. I can't remember the last time I went to a friends house, let alone went out with some friends. Plus now I'm working these hours, it's just such bad timeing in the day. Smack bang in the middle of the day. I can't do much in the mornings cause it takes so long to get ready for anything and then Liam needs a morning sleep anyhow, then in the arvos, it's 4pm by the time I'm actually able to get anywhere and who want's visitors at 4pm??? Especially if you have kids of your own you're starting to think about dinner and winding down, not getting ready for a visitor. I can't take Lily to the park and stuff on my own cause I can't look after both her and Liam at the same time, cause she's such a daredevil and Liam eats anything off the ground! I'm worried Lily will hurt herself or do a runner. I don't want to go to the shops cause I get depressed that we have no money to spend on all of the nice stuff for the kids, and that I'm so fat I don't want to buy stuff for me...besides we still have no money!
Ugh, anyway........I'm not having a good day in case you didn't notice! DH has taken the kids out cause I lost it. I am feeling pretty sorry for myself. Ok I'm going, wnough of the whinging from me. Hope everyone is feeling better than me!
-
Kel, sorry you're having such a bad day. You sound SO much like me. I have been complaining all week to DH that I just don't get any time to myself to do stuff. I don't even really have any friends I could go and see anyway, as my two besties live up on the Central coast now :( Oh and the feeling fat thing I can totally relate to. The Wii Fit told me I was obese this morning for the first time :( Not having a fun time right now about myself :( The boys have been great, it's been all about me feeling bad.
Kel, you only live near Liverpool somewhere don't you? Do you work five days a week? I'm at Raby so would love to meet up for a coffee or something if you're ever free. It'd have to be kid-friendly as I can't even leave J for a few hours. Let me know if you're interested :)
Jared's just woken up and wants some milk, so I'll bbl for more personals :)

Mel and Kaz, do you have the Maxi-rider with AHR? We got it for Ben a few months ago and haven't had a problem with him moving out of his other more reclined seat. When he falls asleep his head seems to fall onto the AHR part so it has something to rest against rather than just lolling on his chest. We talked up the new seat a lot before it arrived and then before it went into the car. Now we're taking it to Qld with us in November for Jared on the plane and Ben has told us that he's not allowed to use his 'big boy seat' That will be interesting
Mel, we always get thrown out of routine after only one day away from home :( I hope the girls settle back into one for you quickly this week.
Urgh! J has just woken up again! I swear that kid has a BB sensor

KEl- I do the same. I come on here, see that no one has posted then off I go. Its really bad in Rebeccas thread, most of the time I am posting to myself so sometimes I think why bother...or should I join a differnt group (most have migrated to early December). I try and post in here often but then I feel like I have no life either and my days are spent on the computer waiting to talk to someone. We went to the park yesterday and I said to dh look at all the other kids, they are so well dressed and olivia is in her Sunday bummer clothes...which we dress her in most of the time, trackies and a jumper. I hate shopping too coz we have no money to splurge on realy nice clothes and most of the stuff our girls have are hand me downs. I suppose I look at it in the long term and we are saving money for when they are older! I also feel like you all my friends...well I dont have many so most of the time I am at home with the girls. I am slowly trying to make friends with people with kids so its getting there, but I dont have hobbies of my own and I am also too fat to go out to buy something nice for myself. I sympathise with you. Take mels offer up and go have coffee or meet at an indoor playground.
Mel- we have the AHR and I suppose Olivia has to get used to putting her head on it and not flopping forward. Even with it in recline mode it still isnt really reclined! We kept our routine yesterday and Olivia was asleep by 730...yay. No sleep during the day is the only way for her now. I had a really good sleep and only woke up at 1am to settle Bec. So I slept from 10pm til 730ish.
Tonight I am making falafals and beetroot dip and tzatzici (sp?) and pasta salad. Am going to try do other things opposed to meat and 3 veg every day. Oh and I lost about 2kgs after my post on facebook. Got myself a pedometre to make sure I am doing 10000 steps a day. Still I have about 7kgs to loose to get to pre pregnancy weight and then another 4kgs to get to when I first met dh!
Ok have a great day:)
-
I hear you ... I've gotten into the habit of putting Pip into his "good" clothes cause we don't go out anywhere really where he would wear them!
I need to lose about 10kg to get to the upper end of "normal" and another 10 kg to get to my pre-melbourne weight. I'd be happy with just the first 10kg.
Pip is also known as "whingey boy" at the moment, he's just sitting on DH's lap whining cause I won't put "igglepiggle" back on - we tape it each day and he watches it when he gets home and then we watch the news. Tonight he's grumpy :(
With the maxi-rider, not sure what you mean by AHR?

Hi!
Mel/Kaz - what a bugger with the kids in the car seats - I haven't had that drama so can't really help - sorry...I know Louis sometimes falls asleep with his head forward but Dylans never has really...none of our seats are reclined...We're just about ready to sit Ethan forward though which is quite exciting!!! He's getting so big - fully crawling and standing now! Cheeky monkey!! It's amazing how quickly they end up gettign it!
Kaz - Thanks for picking up your tupper - hope you're feeling better...Good for you trying to organise a date night!!! I hope you find someone!!
Pip is just so gorgeous!! He's such a quiet little thing - I can't believe how he just walked out with you without a hassle - I would have had to carry my boys out kicking and screaming - LOL!!!
Kel - You poor thing...it can be hard getting out and about with kids - especially when they're so little! I'm a bit of a hermit at the moment - the cold weather & lack of money doesn't help either though!!
Most importantly though there's nothing wrong with having us as your friends!!! LOL!! It's sometimes easier because we're all in the same situation and can relate to one another...
I think one of the important things to look at as well is this is all temporary - in the blink of an eye our kids will all be at school, we'll all be heading back to work or already working, and life will become a little more easy...I mean there are challenges at every age but at least by then the kids will sleep well, eat on their own and wipe their own bum! LOL!!!
Sometimes we just need to embrace the fact that life with small kids is hard - you can feel isolated and feel stifled at times by these little dependent bubbas BUT it won't last...
Also, I know it's easy to leave ourselves at the bottom of the list but a happy mumma equals happy kids and family!! Reallly try and do something nice for yourself each day...it's important that you recharge and refuel when you can so you can be a happy, positive mum...
And after all my dribble remember your doing an amazing job!!!! Don't be too hard on yourself!!!
Dis - Same above applies to you too! LOL! Actually it applies to all of us - I only write all this stuff because I go through the same feelings as well! I just know it's essential to make changes if things are starting to get on top of me..Nothing changes if nothing changes - if you're not happy with something you have the choice to change it!!! Even if it's a small baby step for now...
On the weight issue - I've put on 2kg this month! LOL!!! Nice winter padding!! How about we all make an effort to make some changes - I know Mel's doing really well - how about a weigh in each week??? Let's really motivate and help each other to make some postive changes???
You can all tell me to shut up - that's fine..but it might be nice to support each other seeing it seems that that's what most of us are missing at the moment!!!!
Mel - Well done on losing weight!! Sounds like your doing so well at the moment! Keep it up!!! You know I'm always around if you ever want to catch up!! I'm happy to come over to you sometime as well, otherwise your more than welcome to come here anytime if you want to get out of the house!!
Big w toy catalogue is online - woohoo - no prices yet - I can feel a shopping spree coming on - LOL!!! Won't be going at midnight this year though that's for sure!!!
Had a chilled out day - made vanilla slices which are yummo (geez wonder why I'm putting on weight - LOL!) We also made fried rice for dinner which turned out really well!! I'm doing way to much cooking at the moment!! LOL!
Michael's gone out so I bathed the boys and got them all to bed - so far so good - but poor Ethan is still so snuffly that I'll expect him in bed with me at some point over the night...
Better go - Dylan and Louis have just started crying! xo

Kris - when we got to the car there was a tanty, he didn't want to sit in his car seat! ARGH and then he wouldn't let me put on his seat belt, there was hair pulling and kicking.
So little boy's in bed, the nappies are all washed, we all have clothes for tomorrow .. only thing of note this arvo was him having a tanty and running his nails down my lovely black tee with a cat sparkly motive, he scraped off a pile of the sparkles *grrrr*
But he was so cute when he was drawing on his blackboard, he did 2 lines and called it a snake. Then a huge circle (Patrick's moon) and another circle (mummy's moon) and more dots (a tree) and 2 more lines (a beetle). So lovely to see his thoughts process!
Kris - very true about taking time for yourself - each week (mostly) I've been going to a "womens' sacred healing circle" which is effectively meditating and vocalising your problems and releasing them into positive thoughts - its really been helping me mentally even though it's only 2.5 hours / week and $25! I think I'm getting more out of it than counselling from the psych!
