Sasha- I'm the same with Allegra where ever she crashes is where she stays unfortunatly it's been in my arms lately.

Vic- our ac is already getting a work out I would prefer a dry heat to a humid heat DF couldn't wait till it warmed up but I know how crabby babies and kids get

    MM- How annoying about medicare!

MT- gosh I hope i'm like your DH's grandmother when I'm old. I hope the colds go away

Speaking of holidays I'm going to Bali in March next year for a friends Bday I can't wait!!!

How many of us are now furmula feeding and for those that are 100% breast feeding do your babies fill up and fall asleep or do they wake up and want more all the time?

hi everyone else - i have missed you while my computer has been out of action. I'm now set up on another one *yay*

eli has said "hello" clearly three times!!!! so cute he's "talking" lots now to us. still waiting for him to lift his head up properly during tummy time though... i think it's just that he's heavy it's harder lol.

    hope you are all well!

ps kel: I'm 100% BF still. Normally 3-4 hours between feeds during the day and 5-9 hours overnight but today he wanted feeding every 1.5 hours!!! Growth spurt I'm guessing?!

Kel - 100% BF here, and it varies ... sometimes he fills up and sleeps for like 8, 9, 10 hours, during the day he feeds every 3-4 hours, but I don't fed him as soon as he wakes up now, and try to push it as close to 4 hours as I can without him getting too upset. Sometimes he only goes 2-3 hours between feeds during the night but of course, being night time, I feed him straight away and he goes straight back to sleep. We had a couple of warmer nights here and he slept pretty much straight through, but lately we've had cooler nights and I think cause he gets his hands out of the blanket (doesn't matter how tight I wrap) his poor little hands get cold and that wakes him up ...

Rachel - def. sounds like a growth spurt! Veygas did a similar thing a few weeks ago!

kel I wouldn't worry.. Eli only had a 6+ hour sleep from 4 weeks old and he's a big boy. My midwife said it can be a lot to do with their weight and how much their stomach can store.

kel- I'm 100% BF here too. I don't get much beyond 6-7 hours, only at night. The first few feeds of the day are 2 hours apart (no negotiations on that, if he wants it before that he has to wait due to digestion issues) and then we spread out as the day wears on.

typing with one hand while ds is asleep in my arms, so I will come back later to chat more

    hi girls ...

sorry so long between posts but man where have the past weeks gone ... i think too much has happened to catch up on personals at the moment so I will do my best to catch up over the next few days .....

My aunt has been over for visiting from Dubbo whilst my parents are holidaying in Tassie so I have been spending time with her catching up and going out a bit and then the long weekend DH had a full 3 days off so we had some well needed family time and him home on a weekend and not working - YAY !!

Have also been working from home too so at the moment whenever I have free time and Ali is sleeping I need to work to get this event and AGM organised ... I have flights and accommodation and registration to organise for all our members and our staff so I will be busy me thinks !!!

Ali gets her injections tomorrow not looking forward to them at all and since my mum is away my aunt is going to come with me for moral support and then she will stay with us and have dinner esp until DH gets home from work ....

Ali got the milk pimples and in the heat they flare up even worse than normal .. they have started clearing on her cheeks but are now spreading to the back of her ears etc .. I took her to the dr about them as well and he said they are normal and it can last until she is 12 weeks old but not to do anything to them .... so we have left them and they are s l o w l y clearing up ....

I read somewhere today that chocolate can give babies wind and whenever I eat it I think it affects Ali so my days of enjoying some chocolate are well and truly over I think .... bummer .... but worth it for her to be wind free .... has anyone else know what triggers affect the wind in bubs?

I b/f Ali every feed except her night feed which DH has just given her now .. we normally feed her around 730 or 830 depending on schedule but she is going every 4 hours and has been doing 4am, 8am, 12 noon, 4pm, 8pm ... she sleeps from 930 to 730 generally but every 2nd night tends to wake up at 2am or 3am for a quick top up which is weird ?!?!? Why every second night I have no idea and the long weekend on Sat morning she woke at 5am and was ready for play time ... I ended up in the lounge room with her so DH could sleep peacefully and was playing with her at 5am ..

Will try and catch up on personals and I hope everyone is doing well ....

    Mel

    Hi Kel

We are 100% BFing... well its 100% BM anyway, we do EBM bottles every now and then when she's being an animal with my nipple OUCH! She sleeps about 7 hours at night give or take, and about 3 hours at a time during the day after being awake for 1 and 1/2 hours. ALTHOUGH... in the hot weather she has a whole lot more because she gets thirsty. The other day I gave her 10mL of water as it was 35 degrees and I'm sure she was literally sucking the life out of me. Thelongest she's ever slept... I think 8 hours. I've never gotten NEAR 10-12 hours over night... she wont go down until at least 8.30pm, and doesn't wake up any later than 5am if she hasn't woken during the night. I do feel for you Kel I hope she starts sleeping soon.

Melsta, I am usually up at 4am, give her a feed and then she wants to play. Shel has to wake at 5am, and usually comes out to us having Playhouse Disney on the TV singing along. LOL! I really enjoy it though, I've always been an early riser.

Squidipa, thats fantastic!!!! WOOHOO go Josh!!!!!!!

    Morning beautiful peoples!!!!!

Miss M didn't sleep through the night last night - But thats ok, I go to bed every night not expecting her to sleep through, so if she does - its a wonderful surprise for me!! LOL

Squidipa - that's great news honey about Josh's hearing!!!! Yayyy!!! Now when he is older and pretends NOT to hear you - you can say "I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME YOUNG MAN....." hehehehe..
Oh and I have a breast pump here that I'm not using if you want to borrow it? I won't need it till the next little one makes an appearance...

Melsta - good to see you again!!! You sound very busy with work and the baby!!!!

Leash - I wish we had foxtel (or whatever its called now) cos I'm getting darn sick of changing the DVD's for DS every two minutes cos he's changed his mind!!! LOL.. although - he is nearly fully trained in changing them over himself.. just got to get him to put them back in the cases properly - but he can get them out - put them in the DVD player the right way up and in properly and shuts the door.. LOL... so we're nearly there..

Vic - big hugs to you matey.... I'm sure you will get your milk up and flowing like a river soon enough!!!!

    Kel - I think the Chiro is going well - she has to go again tomorrow because her neck was still out last night when we went. We knew we had to go cos she favoured one side to lie on - and that usually signifies a neck or back problem...better to get it fixed now cos it usually makes them much more settled babies...and she hasn't screamed as much during the day - plus sleeping longer at night - so I think its working. Sorry to hear that you are having BFing problems - its so difficult isn't it {hugs}

Kiwi - that is sooo cute that he is saying hello.... DS used to be like that too.. DD is pretty quiet (unless she's screaming) but she does coo a lot.... and she smiles a lot too - although her smiles make her look a little freaky.. LOL... definitely not a cute "awww" look she has got going on.

Hello to everyone else i missed!!!! You know I wuv ya

Well I've vacuumed the house this morning - which is more productive that what I usually get done. I think it helps when your newborn is in the swing, and the toddler is running around in front of you saying "again.. again" whenever you turn it off to go to another room.. pmsl.... he'll make me a good housewife yet..

Better go - I think he wants Elmo on now....

    Hi All,

Sorry I have no hope again of responding personally to everyone. Have had a shocking week here with Seven and screaming before finally going to sleep. Every night except last night anyway. I think the Zantac is working! She still didn't get off to sleep for 'bedtime' until 12.30 but she wasn't screaming and it only took about 5 mins each time to settle her back off to sleep.
She actually went off to sleep at 10.30 but her reflux kept waking her up, so I just wore her in the Peanut Shell and watched some silent TV! ROFL - The playboy mansion show is hilarious when there is no sound! I wonder what its like with the volume up? ROFL

Just a quick one to Kel ~ I am 100% BF and Seven will go approx 2hrly during the day and maybe up to 3 hrly overnight. She doesn't sleep longer than 3hrs at night before waking up realising she is hungry. I don't mind the frequent feeding at night, because she falls straight back to sleep once she is full, and she is in our bed so I can go right back to sleep too.

    Hope you are all well.

    Hi all!

Kel - Veygas's looooooong sleeps are very rare (I think cause he's not quite used to the warmer weather, it takes it out of him) On the warmer days, he's harder to get to sleep, but the warmer nights are when he sleeps through most of the night. More often than not though, I am getting up to him every 3-4 hours during the night.

Mel - DS2 HATES the vacuum cleaner (he's 2.5) and screams the house down whenever I turn it on, and with DP home every second day sleeping, it's hard to find the time to vacuum!! DS2 also hates the lawn mower .... in fact, just about anything that makes a loud noise he doesn't like ... hmmmmm ....

CM4E - hope Seven starts to settle down for you hun and

Squidipa - YAY!!!!!! I'm so glad Josh's hearing test went well!! Maybe the screaming & drooling are an indication of teething??? (hope not for your sake though!! )

Melsta - I don't know what else triggers wind (besides cabbage) but my ECH nurse suggested chammomile tea - that is the mum drinks the tea and the baby also gets the effects! Haven't tried it though cause we ended up with Veygas having a hernia op and the wind seemed to subside after that ...

Leash - go you!!! Billy Joel, you lucky chicky!!!!

Vic - I wish Veygas would slow down, he's 6.5 kg now and such a lump to carry around!! It's so much easier on my arms to put him in the pouch, but murder on my back! (and I wonder why my posture is bad!! I used to be a ballet dancer, should start calling on the muscle memory of all that training!! )

    Big Hi to everyone else

    Hello all

Well I am happy to report that Kye went from 6500g last week to 6980 grams today
That was with clothes and a nappy on too so give or take a little bit so I am soooooo happy!

I am thinking of investing in some scales myself so I can weigh him here at home naked and get a true indicator of his weight.
A friend brought some off ebay so might try there!

Sorry no time for personals at the moment, gotta get some lunch - I am starving!

    Back later maybe.....
