Dont feel judged Lea....just lie when people ask how much TV your kids watch its none of the "experts" business what you do

Sadly tv has never worked for Grace and eve shows no sign of being interested in it... It sometimes buys me 10mins in the morning to have a shower but im normally still in there when i get grace saying "i turned the tv off mum. What you doing?" And normally she will just end up more upset if there is an ad or something on that has any emotion she doesnt understand on, or the news preview !nightmare

I say be happy that buys you some time and be proud that thats all you need to be happier and calmer mum

Trust me with three on my own most of the time id love a little tv time, oh i did forget "the fairies" buys me a little longer but only if not over used

Eve has found me.... better go

well i went and saw the LC, to try and find out whats worng with my left side , but i got advice that just didnt feel right .. she watched me feed g lying down and she said that the clicking sounds that she makes were her way of coping with my flow ...
and she also said that the pain and trouble i have with my nipple is just "something i have " and told me to take nurofen !!!!

AND that i should not co sleep , and that if g is fed and clean i should let her cry for 20mins minimum , so she can learn to fall asleep on her own , and that i should feed every 2 hrs ...she did see the taurma on my nipple but never really did anything about it , i mentioned the pain factor soo many times , in the end she made me feel like i was making a big deal out of nothing and definatley made it clear i was wasting her time ...

i felt like crap when i left .. i thought i was doing fine as a mum , i thought co sleeping was natural and so was attending to your baby when she cries ..

i admit that she needs to feed less often to give me a break , but why did the advice feel wrong to me .. i think that i will find another LC who has the same beliefs as me ...

but as for g's colic (which is pretty bad) im going to try cutting out things of my diet .. dairy should be the 1st to go , but its a big part of my diet ... (but i reckon its a big part of her colic too )

im just babbling on here , im a bit confused about the breastfeeding advice ...

anyway its dinnertime , and nixon has a fever .. its going to be an interesting night ..

Lea, hun if the advice the LC gave you feels wrong, don't listen to it. Simple as that. You are a great mum and you are doing the right thing for you and Gabriella. If co sleeping is what you need to do, do it, if you feel there is something wrong with how she is feeding then there is. And a newborn left screaming for 20mins???? WTF!!!!! That is the most rediculous thing I have heard. You need to find someone out there to support you not put you down.
I have cut out alot in my diet- chocolate, dairy, onions, garlic, spicy foods, anything that might make him windy (like vegie soup, baked beans...). And Liam seems to be alot more settled. I have tried reintroducing chocolate and dairy (they are killing me not to eat!!) and boy did I know it the night I did it! He screamed bloody murder the nights I tried it. So soy milk and no yummy foods for me .

I havent been able to log on here for four days!! Not cos of my net connection, cos i cant get my bum into gear.

I had my endoscopy on monday, they took 4 biopsies and let me tell you i swear i can feel where they took them from. My stomach is so sore. It feels like i have open wounds in there, which i guess i do. I dont really know what the results are yet until i see my GP but the report says i have thickened mucous and an inflamed oesophegus/gullet which is consistent with reflux. I dont know what they will do about that. It should have corrected itself when i gave birth but it hasnt. I still get heartburn and reflux almost every day. So that whacked me out and i slept all day monday.

Tuesday DH went back to work and ever since i just dont seem to have enough hours in the day to get everything that i want to get done, done. It doesnt help that my stomach hurts so much though, which is making me more slow.

On top of all that Chardonnay has been terrible. Sunday night she kept us up all night, we barely slept.

I still have insomnia where im doing these 20 min power naps and i just feel so teary all the time. I dont think i have PND though, i think its just the insomnia which means sleep deprivation, and an unsettled baby that upsets me cos i cant fix her.

On a brighter note though, Chardonnay started smiling at me this morning. She has been smiling for awhile, but not actually directly at anyone. This morning she looked at me and smiled. Best feeling in the world. Makes it all worth it.

I cant beleive all your babies are going into 000 already. We are still fitting 0000 nicely here. She weighed 3.3kg last week.

kell- Serenitee had chronic ear infections, including several eardrum perforations, from the age of 4 mths. We were lucky to have one full week off a course of antibiotics before she got another infection. She had at least 2 courses of ab a month and in the end became immune to main ab she was always on and they had to change it. In the end she wasnt allowed off ab, she had a continual prescription until she got grommets. She got her grommets at 11mths old and has been fantastic ever since. She has had a few infections since having her grommets but the fluid just drains out now and we can usually just leave it to drain. So if you need someone to talk to about it, i have been through it and am more than happy to help out if i can.

I hope you are all well

kristi14 hope your tummy feels better soon you poor thing and you get some more sleep ahh smiling I have a picture of Eireann smiling but it was in her sleep LOL

*charmalea* I WOULDNT WORRY ABOUT THE TV I remember doing exactly the same when I had my second son just to get some more sleep and he is fine, my lads get up in the morning and watch some tv im not to worried over it as I know that will stop with school and im not getting very much sleep im up from about 12 to 3 am with Eireann she likes to fuss in the middle of the night so when Shane wakes up at 6am i put on the tv for him i need some sleep to cope with the boys and house or ild be a zoombie as long as its cartoons your not a bad mum
with nixon have you tried time out I find it great put him in there and then when he sits there go to him and tell him why he is there they catch on very quick with shane we say do you want to go to time out he say no and does what he is told (he is 2) might be worth a try if you dont already do it if you can ignore the screaming and when he is calm reward him i know that sound so much easier than done esp with a new baby and lak of sleep sore boobs im think of you though
with the LC what planet is she on you do what feel right i see another one for the pain in your left nipple and if you did want to cut out feeding from that one and just use the right it has and can be done my mam had breast cancer and had her breast removed she then had my little sister and fed her with one breast no problems at all
