    Hi girls,

Lea, thanks for the concern hun. I think I'm ok, nothing serious. Other than sleep deprivation and a sick cling on toddler....there's not much I can do about it at the moment. But like you I think I have too high expectations of myself. Dh works 4 days on 4 off, 2 days 2 nights, so I do get a break, but when both babies are screaming at night, we're both up to them anyway, so we're both sleep deprived. I got a pretty good sleep last night, about 6hrs, though I was in bed by 9pm. Lily didn't wake up at all (yayyyy!!!) and Liam only woke for feeds, except at about midnight we were up for an hour with his grumbles, and Lily was awake at 5.10am (eeek) bring on daylight savings.
And I got some help yesterday evening, my mum came over just in the nick of time as I was bathing Liam after a monster poo and Lily was screaming and going nuts at me cause I couldn't pick her up. She was starting to heave and was about to throw up, which is what she does when she gets really upset. Then mum walked in and I almost cried!! She helped bath the kids, washed up and swept the floor for me.
Yay that you got a cleaner, that must be a weight lifted for you!!

Ok gotta go, Liams stirring (gotta get him before he wakes Lil...), hi to everyone else, sorry for the cut short post!

i just pressed some random button on my laptop and now the writing is so huge i can hardly read what everyones said ..

Milly: your forgiven .. but i will hassle you after monday and best of luck on the trip .. what does you DH do again ?? pmsl @ a grape intolerence ... none of us are sensitve to anything , so im surprised gab has all this going on with her ..

Kellie: your mums a star .. ikwym about the screaming and the almost vomiting . nixon is fantastic at it , and latley he wants "up" alot and its always when im cooking or on the loo or bathing gab .. i always try and get me and the 2 kids bathed before i have to pick up dh .. so all 3 of us strip and get in the shower , then i get out and wrap up gab , get my self dressed and then tend back to her while nix is in the bath , put her in her capsule , get nix out ,dress him and walk out the door ... sooo not as easy as it sounds but its one less thing i have to worry about when we all get back home ..

does anyone else get bored of being at home ... im am soo over it , but by the time i get to wherever i want to go , im tired and buggerd and look forward to going home again ..

i had a nightmare about my cleaner last night .. my mum was yelling at me about how lazy i was and that no one had help in her day and i should do it myself ... i always have nightmares aboout my mums opinion .. gee i have issues

eww i just got a whiff of nix's nappy ... ovbisoulsy yesterdays poo has come late and back with a vengance ...

    Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been lurking and not posting.

Lea - if it makes you feel any better I had a cleaner for about a year here in Oslo and I didn't have any kids then! I say that life is short and if you can afford it then your time and energy is better spent focussing on the things that matter rather than sweating the little stuff. PMSL at "gee i have issues"! I think most of us have approval issues with our mothers and to think that our kids (esp daughters) will go through the same things with us!! Circle of life (or Karma)!

Kell, thank goodness your mum arrived in the nick of time. I have no idea how I will cope when we have two little tykes, but I guess we just cope the best we can and try to grow extra arms!

Milly, good luck with the wedding. It sounds like a crazy week but one that is going to be jam packed with great events that will contain lovely memories for all of you. Sadly I am a bit jealous as I never got to be either a flowergirl or a bridesmaid! And I guess my flowergirl days are looooong behind me.

Niamh, I hope that Eireann settled back down for you over night. And thankyou for reminding me that I also need to organise for a pap test. I had one at 7 weeks when I had my dating scan and they said the results were inconclusive and to have another at six months. Well I wasn't about to have anyone poking around down there at 8 months pregnant so I have waited until after Beth arrived.

Danielle, I hope that you are all over your flu! I can't imagine being sick and looking after little ones too! But I know that at some point in my future I will but I am hoping it's far distant!

Mel, it sounds like Ali is going great guns! Beth has also put on heaps of weight too. I can't believe that you are working already (even if it is from home) I don't know where each day goes. Usually I look at the clock and it's midday and then I look again and it 6pm!

As for me, the count down is on! We land back in Melbourne in 10 weeks! I am so excited! A lot of my 'free' time now is focussed on wrapping up things here and organising for our return down under. DH's company is paying for a serviced apartment in South Yarra for us which is great and then Beth and I will stay with mum and dad when James heads over to Perth to start in the office after new year.

Beth is growing huge! She is in the 90th percentile for weight and I am looking forward to having her length check at her appt next wednesday as I think she has grown heaps. She looks so much bigger in her pram and moses basket.

I have a question for the group about growth spurts. We had a rather odd day yesterday where Beth wanted to sleep all day. She was so sleepy that at one point I could barely wake her and I got all panicky and took her temp (normal) and starting googling symptoms. In the end I thought fine if you want to sleep then I will put you to bed (6pm), but when i was undressing her to change into a sleep suit she perked right up and became the baby I know and love, really alert and wanting to play. So then I thought perhaps she was too hot so I let her kick around on her play mat for 10 mins wearing just a body suit and socks. Anyway, the googling yielded sleepiness as a side effect of a growth spurt. Has anyone else experienced this?

And does anyone here follow a 'routine'. I have been letting Beth set the routine and it has been working for all of us, but I'm starting to think that I should get her now used to going to bed at 7pm instead of 9ish. I tried to start a routine today but because she was acting so oddly sleepy it didn't really work! Oh well I will try again tomorrow!

Sorry for the long post. I suddenly found I had lots to say! And I also am suffering from insommnia when I feed during the night! (sorry can't remember who also was wide awake but I feel for you!)

Must try to go back to sleep now!

oh and this is a really dumb question but the 6 week check up how does that go i had GD so when i make an appointment should i book the gtt and how much do the dotors normally charge for the check up
Niamh75 Didn't realise you were a fellow GD sufferer. I had GD with CHloe also. I had my 6 week checkup on Wednesday. OB did a pap smear and just checked all healed. I asked about the GTT as he didn't mention it and said that yeah I should probably have another test done as it was unusual that I got it. He gave me the thing to go get it done and said to go around the 3 month timeframe. Some people have said they've had theirs at 6 weeks and I assumed that also but OB said 3 months. I guess he is giving me plenty of time for my body to adjust back. Have you done any BSL's since birth? I did a few in hospital and they were all under 7 and I did one 1hr and 2hr after a bowl of ice-cream with topping and again under 7.

Erin - Yep have seen that Chloe got sleepy around her growth spurts. At 3 weeks she slept 11 hours straight and scared the #### out of me. I was poking her to make sure she was still breathing. Chloe loves "no nappy time" where I just pop her on a disposable change mat with her nappy off and she kicks and kicks like there is no tomorrow. Normally a wee follows and then when she starts getting a little cranky I dress her again and she is happy.

I haven't tried to set a routine for Chloe but I'm finding she is just making one herself. I note down her feed times as I was shocking in the beginning at remembering when she had fed and when she might be "due". And I can see a pattern now. If she wakes at around 4am then she has a different pattern than if she wakes around 7am but it's usually one of those times is her first feed and it goes from there. Because I am demand feeding it was just easier to do things as she wanted them and now she is putting herself in a routine which is great.

US - Well BF"ing is still an issue. I think my supply is now suffering because Chloe is not feeding properly. I have an appt with LC on Wednesday (was today but they had to change it). We had a shocker day on Wednesday after I had a chicken stir fry for dinner Tues night. She was up most of Wednesday with belly pains and no poo followed. I ended up sleeping on the lounge with her Wed night as she wouldn't lay flat on her back for more than 30 seconds without screaming in pain, and a blood curdling scream I might add. So yesterday we were much better. She had the afternoon with her poppy (alone without nana i might add) and he fed her EBM and a FF comp and they had a nap together then she came home and was all good. Then last night my supply was low so I had a 90ml EBM in the fridge and gave it to her. About an hour later she started screaming again and that was when I realised that half the EBM I'd expressed on Wed Night and half the Thurs morning so she'd gotten half a feed from the stir fry incident. Not happy jan and I felt so bad for her. I ended up giving her a full FF at 9pm to try and flush her out and voila!!!!! Mind you it resulted in her 2nd bath for the day and with mummy in with her.

This morning at 4am she fussed with BF and I had another 90ml EBM (from last night) so i gave her that and then she slept with me till 8.45am. I gave her 35 min BF at 9am but then she was fussing afterwards still even though she went to sleep on me so i gave her a 60ml comp FF and she finished it in record time, gave her another FF and she took another 30ml so I'm really not sure how much she is getting from the BF'ing at this stage.

I'm wondering if I'd be better of just expressing and giving her EBM and then a FF afterwards depending on what I've been able to express. At least I'd know what she was getting and would be less fussing with making up FF's etc.. So not sure what to do!

Sorry for long rant, my typing ers just took on a mind of its own!

Well we had another horrible night. And being on my own was terrible! DH was on a night shift and the kids decided they wouldn't sleep again. I think they're communication with each other as to who's turn it is to be awake. When one went to sleep the other woke up. Lily was up about 4 times, once for an hour, Liam was up about 4 as well and once for about 2hrs. I just want to have more than 2 hrs sleep at a time!! I'm hoping tonight is better, DH is on night shift again...I'm soooo tired, only about 3 or 4 hrs sleep again. Thankfully DH is home for a few days from tomorrow. Might go to mums tomorrow and she can look after Lil while I sleep with Liam. Ugh this sooo sucks, I'm really not enjoying it at the moment.....so when does it get easier??
Sorry no personals again, am going to tidy up and go to bed...

    Hello ladies,

We had a better night last night, kind of. I was up a thousand times, but only quick trips for the dummy for Lily and feeds for Liam. And I went to bed at 7.30 which helped, mind you I didn't actually mange to get to sleep until 9pm cause of the kids...they're determined to not let me sleep, LOL! Though we did get a sleep in, until 6.45am, yay! A sleep in for us we're usually up at 5/5.30am.
DH is home for two days now so I get a bit of a break. He's taken Liam to bed now and Lily has just gone to sleep too. She's going to be up all night, but I just can't deal with her whinging cause she's tired, she fell asleep at the shops but only slept for about 20mins, soooo not enough for her when she's waking 5 times a night (no really it was 5 times last night, more than Liam, at almost 18mths....I really thought by now she'd be sleeping through ). So I have half an hour or so for myself, woohoo!!
I have my 6wk check up next week, I am going to talk to the dr about pnd. I'm a bit worried I might be getting it, or at least some kind of depression. Yesterday was a really horrific day for me and I spent the day in tears. Lucky DH was hoem, though he was meant to be sleeping off a 14hr night shift. In the end he only got about 5hrs sleep...more than me, but still, he has a highly stressful jod which requires him to be alert. (Not that mine doesn't!!) So he helped me calm down, and we had a good talk this morning. I feel better today, but still pretty fragile. I don't know if I can just blame sleep deprivation anymore. I mean I am stiil horribly sleep deprived, and that's at least half of my problem, but I still think it could be depression/anxiety/stress....something like that.
    Anyway enough about me!!

Lea, yeah, my mum is pretty good when I REALLY need her. But if she would just see that she could help before I get to the end of my tether then I wouldn't snap, kwim?? And I hear you on the judgement thing, I have that big time, if she comes over I'm constantly makeing excuses why theres washing in the sink or the clothes aren't packed away.
Your routine sounde good, like you hve it down pat! I haven't managed a routine yet and can't get out the door before 10ish. I'm lucky to be dressed by then! I find it hard too cause I have to try to get the two of them down 3 flights of stairs, not fun... But yep I'm soo sick of being home too, and so is Lily, she's so bored of her toys and this place, she's turned into destructo-girl and just pulls stuff apart that she shouldn't. She used to do it before too, but now, OMG, it's anything she can get her grubby little hands on! But it's hard to find motivation when I have to get them both ready and downstairs, then upstairs at the end of it all!

Erin, yayyy @ coming home, I can't imagine the feeling. I love coming home after a short holiday, I can't imagine being away from Aust for so long!
That's excellent that Beth is growing so big. I love having bigger bubs, I thin Liam is going to be a chubba bub, he's starting to grow out of his 000 already and fits into some 00 and he already looks so big for his car capsule. I'm getting him weighed next wed just to see how big he actually is!
We have no routine here, except for DD'S bed time routine! I'm just trying to get through the days here, but at this age I generally just let bub tell me what he wants.

Tasha, glad Lucy's pooing better, ther's nothing worse than a constipated baby. Lily used to get it alot when she was having formula too, I used brown sugar too, works a treat and all natural!!

oookk, gotta go, that's all the time I get, sorry I missed some of you....Hello, and I hope you're all well.
