Vic..... what do you store your breast milk in in the freezer? and if using bottles do you put teet upside down under cap in bottle to freeze ready for use? also this question is for ANYONE ELSE with info. Josh hates the avent teats grr so i got him the purr bottles (may have to buy more might look at ebay) and he like the teats the avent ones he cant get his mouth around right and sucks air.

Vic - when that happens here, with any of the kids (spew is especially bad in the wee hours of the morning!) I just get whichever child cleaned up and usually end up taking them back to bed with me!! LOL!
Leash - Khaemon was the same, a real PITA for me but as soon as daddy got home, all cute and smiles (he still does it!) and DP says how could I be angry with him?? :) Veygas doesn't want a bar of daddy atm, he practically cries as soon as DP picks him up!! REAL mummy's boy!!
when i was 16 lost my nephew to the system He was a pale red head tight curled Irish looking stocky boy with beautiful big brown eyes and an adorable aboriginal nose. A real delight, i was too young to do anything about it, When i was 19 my sisters daughter was kidnapped by the father and i never saw her again she was the most amazing beautiful blond haired blue eyes cheeky cute little thing with pale skin.:
In june /july last year my eldest sister whom lost a son when i was 16 her daughter was put into the system as she was neglecting her care. I am very happy the system got involved as my sister i love her to bits is unfortunately a drug user and a prostitute to support her habit and i know that my niece is well cared for now.
last year i flew to Perth, i make an application to welfare to look after my niece my husband also flew over and made applications too. But being the father who i dont mind was making efforts of change and keeping all visitations up i supported his claim first for her. Me and hubbie had no intention to be sneaky or sly we just wanted whats best for her and be part of her life. We did not want to step on the parents toes.
well now it seems they both may have majorly screwed it up. so after the long winded answer YES no matter what, she is family, she always will be loved by us, she is an extraordinary strong willed Born an addict and no longer is Amazing little girl :) she is a vibrant little framed cute as a button identical to her mom, PRINCESS!! We have every intention if opportunity comes to adopt her or foster her no matter how many kids we have we WILL make it work. She will be loved and in the right family here. I WILL NOT let her get away from me like the other two children.
Squidipa - I have had a thought....
You have been expressing quite a bit of milk, a plentiful supply.You have a lot of foremilk, in fact too much.. By expressing some off before giving Joshie the boob, would mean he gets more of the hindmilk - the really fatty milk and he may gain better.
So maybe you can for an experiment when expressing see how long before the milk changes and that will give you an indication as to ..
A..how long its taking him to get to the hindmilk and how long he is having the hindmilk for and
B.. in the expressed bottle of milk you'll be able to see how much foremilk there actually is.
So express maybe half, give Joshie the boob so he can drain it and get all that fatty hind milk, then give him the expressed fore milk to fill him up! Then if he doesn't finish the fore milk he has got the fatty milk first IYKWIM! Just food for thought!
I haven't had enough to freeze yet :( but you can get special bags and containers for EBM have a look on EBAY

Squidipa - Kye was 54.5cm at birth so he has gained 10.5cm in 10 weeks :lol:... looking at his book in 23 days (since 1-10-08) he'd gone from 59.5cm to 65cm, hell of a growth spurt!! hehe:
MM - Yep could say DH is tall hehe He is 198 cm I think from memory and I'm about 168cm I think?
Kel - had to laugh when you said future sports star :lol: When DH was younger he was in a cpl of Nth QLD sport teams so maybe Kye might do the same.... lmfao

Bought some Huggies Infant nappies yesterday, but wasn't quick enough changing her when we got home, gave her a feed then she was sitting up (aided) on the pillow on my lap and the rumbles cam through and OMG!!!! Pooh spurted out the side, all over the pillow and Nakita, I jsut managed to grab the side of the pillow to stop it flowing onto me!! YEEEAAAAUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! So I had to clean up Nakita, chuck a load of washing in the machine and little miss in the bath, we told her that next time she wants a bath to just let us know and that she doesn't have to poo everywhere to get a bath!!
Nakita also had her first night in the cot, in her bassinet, she slep the same so I am going to just put her in the cot tonight to see how she goes, now it is time to debate whether to keep wrapping, use a sleeping bag or sheets, last night was quite warm, but tonight will be cooler - the cool change has hit yay!!
What is everyone doing at the moment re wrapping, sleeping bags or sheets/blanket?
Well must go to the markets early before they get too busy and Nakita is sound asleep in her swing, I also must write invoices today, do washing, make lunches, clean, some friends are catching up at the beach this arvo, so if I am organised perhaps we will go for a catch up...

Like Vic I had the biggest nappy blow out I have ever had. Allegra was on my lap and the nappy must have opened a little around her legs, I felt something warm run down BOTH legs I looked down Yep it was pooey. It went up her back, up her tummy, on the couch and on the floor I yelled to Cadence to get a towel she came running over saw the pooey started dry reaching and ran off yelling NOOOOOOOO so I had to waddle down the hall way to the linen closet and grab a towel THEN clean up the trail of pooey I left So I now buy nappies that are slightly too big for her they seem to hold me in and don't leak!
I am still wrapping Veygas (although it is still quite cool here) and I also have a bottom sheet, top sheet (cotton, not flanelette - I hate it!) and a thermal blanket in the cot ... seems to do the trick though, cause I can put him straight in the cot while he is still awake and 99% of the time, he'll self settle and go to sleep, day or night!:

Well I thought last night was going to be a shocker.
I bathed Seven with Lavender oil in her bath, gave her a nice massage, and then went to bed to feed her. She didn't want that. So, at 10.30 she fell asleep in my arms. I thought she would be due for a feed as her last one was at 8.20pm. I stayed up for a while, thinking that if I tried to go to bed she would wake up and it would be all over red rover, and we would start our nightly 11pm scream session.
Well, guess what? Seven slept with me (once I plucked up the courage to go to bed!) until 1.15am! That's almost 5 hrs! Then, just to prove that she is a good girl after all, she waited until 4.55am before her next feed! :clap:
I was ready to call an ambulance she's NEVER gone that long between feeds!!!! LOL :lol:
I also noticed today, that she is happy with the dummy instead of jumping straight on the breast at 2hrs after a feed, so this is AWESOME! :clap:
She is still a Velcro baby most of the day, but one thing at a time.
Hopefully tonight is a repeat performance of last night, even if she doesn't go 5 hrs, as long as she goes to sleep earlyish and stays that way between feeds!

CM4E - :dance: that is great news about Seven sleeping for 5 hours!! I know how you feel cause I was at that stage too a few weeks ago.
Some people may look at it as not a big deal but to yourself it is HUGE - well done!! :clap:
Speaking of sleeping Kye slept for like 3 hours this afternoon, now that is so NOT like him :lol: and even better it was in his cot.... omg couldnt believe it!!
He is sleeping again now in his cot which is way early for him. He usually doesnt go to bed till like 9-9:30pm but thought what the heck I will just leave him; he obviously wants to sleep - for a change LOL
MIL is here for another week (leaves saturday) so have a pretty busy week ahead trying to cram in as much time with her as I can.
Think I might start Post Natal Yoga next week and I'm also gonna look into joining a stroller walking group - theres a couple here on the Coast.....
Anyways must eat before I pass out.... and while the boy is asleep cause who knows how long it will last PMSL

Hey just a quick pop-in folks.....
We went up to the Blue Mountains over the weekend so that was fun. The weekend was completely frantic though, feel like I haven't stopped since Friday! Poor little Beth has been put in and out of the car seat so many times today it's ridiculous!
We got to meet Mountain Mummy which was great! :leap: Her kids are really cute and sooo well behaved! I took a few photos so I will post them... later!
I finally put up a photo album of Beth on Facebook - I have been wanting to do that for two and a half months! Anyway, the album is here if you want to have a look!

Vic - we still wrap, then put her in the sleeping bag wrapped up and zip it up. Nightmare about the poo explosion! I have heard on the forums that huggies have gone downhill recently... but it sounds like it was a poo that no nappy could contain!

Thank you for your comment about our kids - we tend to think they could be better, but maybe that's just us!! LOL! Kaliah's pretty funny, she'll latch on to any new female in the house!! I think her and Khaemon were quite intrigued, having TWO babies in the house yesterday!! LOL!
Oh, and huge apologies for the state of my house!! Sadly, it is usually worse - sometimes I just can't fit all the housework I need to do into one week! LOL! But it is organised clutter - I know where everything is! hehehe
We got a couple of photos too ... I can't believe Veygas piked and fell asleep sucking my shoulder!! hehe He was so much of a velcro baby yesterday too - and proved he prefers mummy over daddy! :rolleyes:
We kissed sleep goodnight last night - he woke twice for a feed, which he hasn't done in ages, but this time I think he was too hot (surprisingly it was quite a warm night, considering we had snow the other day!! LOL!!) Plus, he didn't get a bath last night as he slept right through bath time, so maybe that was another contributing factor to the waking ... oh well, you get that!
CM4E - Hooray for Seven sleeping!!! Well done!! Hope you had another good one last night!

OMG I didn't post all weekend - shock horror I know ;)
So I got my car on Friday - woohoo!! Have to put the baby seat in it today, gotta go to the day care and hand in the enrolment forms. This time next week I'll be at work :(
Kell - I'm glad Seven seems to be improving. Must be a great weight off your shoulders honey.
Vic - yay on building the cot - you handyman you.. ;)
Sasha - holy moly he's growing well!! I think boys tend to put it on quicker that girls? But I could be mistaken.. hopefully Miss M is 5.5kg now (he was actually lighter in birth weight than Miss M was!!!) - but she's a skinny mini.. oh and she is on 5 bottles a day - usually 7.30am, 10.30, 1.30, 4.30, 7.30pm - then she will sleep through the night.
Squidipa - I'm not sure how much Miss M has grown - we don't really take too much notice of how much she is growing - we just suspect she is because the 000's are getting short in the body and legs for her.... but that could be because of the cloth nappy - that bulks them up a bit. Last measurement was 63 or 64cm - so I'm guessing she's probably around 65cm now? She is long and skinny though.
I'm happy MM and Pixie & Bear all got to meet - now it HAS to be my turn to meet Pixie and Bear.. lol.. I know I'll meet you MM when you move to the sunny coast ;) Another lovely warm day today...
***** - DH just called from work - forgot to remind me that today was the day that the insulation people were coming around - lucky I hadn't left yet.. lol... had to quickly dash around the house to put some clothes on other than my Elmo pj's.. and do my hair to stop it looking like cyndi lauper in the early 80's!!!

Another good night here. Did our nighttime routine with the lavender bath, massage, feed etc. Fell asleep at 10.30pm and fed 2hrly from then on overnight - ah well - but no screaming! However, I did not sleep very well, as Seven was particularly farty and noisy in her sleep.:doh: But at least I was in bed relaxing!
Pixie, Bear, MM ~ I hope you all had a wonderful play date yesterday. Its a shame all of us can't get together for one big meet up. I can't wait to see pictures!!!!
Mel ~ Back to work? :cry: :hug: I am getting depressed thinking about going back to work. As it stands it looks like it will have to be late January, but I just know I won't be ready! I want to find a job I can do from home, or take Seven with me. We are thiking I will go back and do NASA work instead of going back to the hospital. That way I can chose my shifts and get paid more anyway. I hope it all goes well for you and you manage being away from Miss M. :hug:

MM - so great to meet you and your lovely DH. Kaliah was really sweet - she gave me a huge hug the minute I walked in the door. And don't worry about the Bear, he gets that a lot. Most of our friends are too scared to ask him over for dinner! When we first met and I didn't know him very well I actually challenged him to a cooking contest :doh: no prizes for guessing how that ended! Although credit to him, he let me cook for him a couple of times before completely blowing me out of the water :redface: it was all part of his cunning plan! And don't worry about the house, I haven't cleaned up in over a month - have to clean the whole flat today, I have been so slack there are dust bunnies everywhere and milk spots all over the floor. I'll post our pictures up later on today.

Our neighbour told us that on the weekend that a stupid idiot climbed DF's truck jumped off the roof and really hurt himself, He had to get a chicky he was walking with to help him walk. DF is now paranoid that someone will climb the truck hurt themself and try and sue! This is why I want to move people are so stupid it makes me angry I mean what did the idiot think would happen jumping off the roof of a truck onto the road! :rolleyes: sorry for the rant I'm calming down now

Nakita slept in her cot - yay - and it was a success!!
I wrapper her then put a nice blanket wool over the top (love Little House Blankets!)
Went to be at 7:45, asleep by 7:50pm, we woke her at 11pm for her late feed, which she guzzled then proceeded th throwup about 80%, then I had to throw out what was left, what a waste of EBM :crying::o. Put her down at 11:45, expecting that I would be getting up in the next couple of hours, but she woke at 6:18am for a dummy then slept until 7:45am!!! Woot!!
So she might be ready to go without the late feed, what do you all think?

I expressed and fed all day yesterday, expressing after every feed to get my supply up, this morning I expressed, 80ml, then fed Nakita, then when she was full expressed another 40ml - my BBS were really full!!! Woot!!
Okay sorry for no more personals, must get back to work to pay for our Halloween Costumes for Friday Night!! Nakita is going to be a Lady Bug and I am going to be a Fairy :lol: Will take piccies for ya all!

Vic ~ you could possibly let Nakita go and see how she takes it. You might find that the reason she is sleeping at night is because of the night feed, so cutting it out might make her wake during the night. See how you go though! Better run, Seven is screaming and I don't think even she knows why.

I love ribbons in my hair and i do wear skirts and legging all the time think this is because i am not very ladylike hahaha but do like the look and its comfy right now got 3/4 leggings and a dress on, i own about 4 pairs of lace bottom black leggings and 4 or 5 black 3/4 leggings. We listen to alot of the 80's here.:
that was just normal expressing at this point was gonna try normal expressing for this week and see if progress it made IYKWIM. u asked before who wraps bubs for bed i do or else he startles him self and wakes then i put a blanket over top and tuck in. i am not sure about u dropping the night feed i would get advice if i was u first. yeah i been trying to express heaps. today i got 120 in 1 go and 80 another prolly wont have time to try again today. btw congrats on the cot sleeping!! how u coping with that IYKWIM:

everything just went wrong this morning so did not go out. i lost a card out of my wallet, lost joshies dummie and chain the only one he likes, lost the jug i use for warmimg ebm, could not find hand bag, hubbies pants were in wash haha that was a sucked in moment haha. Found a egg yoke drooling out the door of fridge too.
i wish josh would rest alone rather than on me its very tiring. I no WE are ecstatics about the gain cant wait till wednesdays real weigh in!!

I don't have too much to report, Jett is doing great and has been asleep since 12 today, even all through me shifting him from cot to car to pram to car to pram....
Squidipa ~ I would keep going with the showers because doesnt he have them with his Daddy? Good bonding time for them. Maybe a massage with Lavender oil when its time for bed? Just dont use too much!!!!
Also, Brauers have a liquid called Calm. Its all natural. May help if Josiah is restless.

thanks for the advice, No dadda does floor time that time and the usual lap time and that but showering is my time with him only cause hubbie is scared to drop him and cant wash him one handedly like me. But him doing floor time works best for me as i forget :( i knwo bad momma!:
I once again tried the pram with pretty little success if ya can call maybe 30 mins sucsess enough time to fold a few towels thats about it.
Washing washing washing its incredible especially with the 3 year old liking to dress him self and be so independent :)
I tell ay what sometimes i think where is my next lo of energy gonna come from always on the go with josh and the 3 year old being left out and the otehr two and not enough sleep. yeah i do get more sleep maybe than some of you but i have always needed 10-12 SOLID hours obviously not getting that if i just close my eyes for just a moment like 2 mins i will be asleep its scary. josh feeds 2 hourly taking 40 mins a feed then settling but never really go far from me and its all back on. i guess i should be happy after the 10-11 feed he goes off till 4 or 5 mind u i wake him at this time to feed him cause normally by 9 he is down.
this sound bad but the last 3 days i have been living off off a whole custard tart daily eaten through out day and maybe bread in evening but for most day the tart. gotta go feed time AGAIN!!!!
BTW all day only got few loads washed still need to hand em all out and folder maybe two loads but did bring i another 2 loads but i had to let josh cry during that time. I knwo once again terrible mom but what else can i do. My back is sore from carrying him constantly :doh::rolleyes:

Yeah, did you know if someone tries to break into your house and they trip on your garden hose, for instance, and break their leg, that THEY can sue YOU??? Stupid freakin laws!!
Mel - LOL @ being locked out of your garage! And as for being the lucky gen, don't forget all those summer days that we spent jumping through sprinklers on the front lawn, or having water fights with the front and back hoses at the same time!! LOL!

MT - sometimes Veygas will sleep through all the shifting from cot to car etc!
DP suggested getting a campervan the other day - just hiring one for 3 weeks and going travelling somewhere ... hehehe maybe we can meet up with all of you along the way!! LOL! Ah it won't be for a while cause DP needs to rack up some annual leave again!
Squidipa- The girls are fine Allegra has been a little grizzly. We took Cadence in the shower with us a lot but for some reason we have only done it once with Allegra. I can't believe how slippery they are they remond me of little frogs. Does your 3 year old change clothes severel times a day?
MM- Thats so stupid about those laws the company he works for would have public liability insurance. Travelling in a camper van sounds fun. OMG I remember you talking about your printer in the early days of our belly buddies group
CM4E- thats great you guys got a giggle, I bet you're getting loads of big gummy smiles too.
MT- sounds like Jett was being really good for mummy. Do you find Jett sleeps better in the bed with you then anywhere else? I've always been told not to put them in the bed with you incase you roll on them but I never roll and always remember she's there.
Vic- aaaaaw a lady bug she's going to look so CUTE I can't wait to see the pics
Mel- The automatic garage openers make life easier but if you forget or lose the remote it's not fun DF lost ours and the 2 spares Cadence pulled the rubber buttons out and chewed them up and they don't work so we had to break into our own house.
I was thinking earlier that it would be great if we everyone was up for a road trip/travel we could all conceivably meet up!
Question is when and where? Who's in?
Kel - Yeah Jett does sleep heaps better in our bed, which is why I'm not in a hurry to get him in to his own room and own bed. We have a bassinet type thing that goes in our bed. It has hard low sides at the top half so it would be virtually impossible to roll on him. In the early days we didn't have that but we didn't roll either. I've heard that unless you are a super-heavy sleeper, been drinking or on drugs/medication or you don't know bubs is there you really won't roll on them because you go in to protective mode. And if you think about it what happened in the days before we had houses and seperate rooms, babies did sleep with their parents so it can't be all wrong!
