Well, that only took me an hour but i made a ticker, like i havent got a whole list of other things i should have been doing while she is asleep...oh well!!

Her lack of sleep in the day ment that last night she slept from 6pm to 5am with a quick feed at 3am !! WOW!!how lucky am I !!!

Alisia: i wrap Grace at night, she wriggles out as she is putting her self to sleep but i go in after a few hours and tuck her back in while she is asleep and she sleeps well, if i leave her un-wrapped she wakes up! i wrap her for her early morning sleep but the rest of the day i leave her unwrapped as its too hot, but then she cant settle herself in her cot...tried again yesterday and she got in such a state! ....so she sleeps in her rocker for how ever many day sleeps she has, which is fine while she still fits in the rocker! we will cross that bridge when we have to

Mel:unfortunatley i dont have my licence so would make it hard to meet up unless you were in Noosa at some point , but i am getting over my fear of driving (so stupid, i know) so hope to be on the road some time in the new year.

Looks like another HOT day here and she id due to wake up soon so better on with the day. to all

    Good Morning

Well little miss N had a great sleep overnight, she woke at 8:10am, and yesterday we were right on routine with a big sleep int he morning, another big sleep at lunch time and a nap in the late afternoon Wish we could repeat it all today, but as we have prem playgroup at 1pm, halway through her normal second big sleep, I don't think it is going to happen I really want to know if it is the trick!!

Well must run, got a friend dropping by for a cuppa in 1/2 and hour must make the house respectable!!

MM - those photos of the truck look pretty bad, glad to know DH is ok though!

I have read everyone's posts but yeah too hard to reply to them all

Thought I'd quickly jump online and say while the man is asleep!

Me is bored, I gotta find more things to do to occupy myself.

Yoga was ok yesterday, K decided to crack it most of the time so I only got to do about 15 minutes of Yoga LOL

Am looking into starting him at a swimming school in the New Year, hmmm thats what I could be doing actually - ringing around to get some quotes.

    Ok gotta run, chow!

Story of my life - I do not drive eigher, so pretty much depend on hubby We have to do it! btw we used to live in Mooloolaba before moved Perth, really missing QLD

Have you tried any baby music during day to settle her? I turn on "peacebaby" or any other CD, make a nest from my blanket and 2 pillows on big bed and she settles even without wrap. Girls, who need bub music, I can send it, I 've got fisher price, "disney" lulubas which I could share. Unfortunatelly I can't figure out how to send peacebaby tracks, the CD is probably protected too much lol Drop me te line on alesia@westnet.com.au
Cindy, that was one very lucky escape!

wow....what a lucky escape from the truck!! scary!

I just managed to find an hour to start paining a shelf unit a friend made for graces room, set up in the garden in the sun, not a cloud in the sky and did the first coat of paint....an hour later the whole thing is covered in wet paint and huge storm clouds have rolled in...Typical!!!

Had another $hit of a day, couldnt use the pool as there were men with saws trimming trees so spent all afternoon in and out of the shower trying to cool off, she is finally having her first sleep since waking up at 8.30am, been asleep since 2pm! Anyway, shouldnt winge, atleast she is asleep and happy now.
I do try music to settle her but she just wont have it, even try laying down and feeding her on our bed...that used to work when she was tiny and would get upset.

Beema: thats great about her sleeping well!! i always wonder what to do in those situations, do you wake her up when you need to go out or try to change her sleeping times?

(im sure this is a stupid question)we have a few things planned over the xmas period, especially in the evening, her bed time is 6ish, do you do the normal bed time routine and then put her in the car/pram and go out?? or go out and do bath etc when you get home or just straight to bed?? you can tell i dont go out in the evenings very often (ever)!!

    folks
Hope you have all had a good day.... pretty good here, just caught up with my stepmother and went out for coffee and cake with my SIL... she is in Oz from the UK until January and we are making a habit of it. She will be staying in my area for a few weeks too so even better. Thought I would post some photos of Beth sitting which you can find here and also put some up on FB but mostly the same ones.
Alesia! Hello thanks for joining us.... I'm Rachel, and my little girl was born on 9 August.... although she was due on 29 July! Good to have you on board. As for baby music I have been using Ministry of Sound.... DD seems to like it but it was playing during her birth so maybe she is used to it
Beck - bummer about your day! hope it improves
MM - how are you feeling? how is DH, he must be in shock! did you find out how it happened?
MT - we still have poo every day here... and while it's a pain, I think I'd rather that than a baby who is a ticking time bomb IYKWIM!
Kel - we got the Bumbo from ebay, I think it was $55?
Vic, yay for the big sleep and hope premmie playgroup was fun!
Sash bummer about Kye playing up during yoga! hopefully next week he'll give you more of a chance....
big to mel, squidipa, rach, and anyone else I missed!

Ok, firstly, I should say HI and to Alesia! we are a real chatty bunch in here LOL! My little boy Veygas was born 21 July although he was due 4 August! I stayed with this group as we had all been in the same belly buddies group and we all get along really well!

Pixie - we are good now ... trying to figure out (still!) what was lost so we can put in an insurance claim (we have portables cover with our contents insurance). Todays shopping expedition to replace alot of stuff helped, but there were little things that were lost that are gonna be hard to replace, insurance or not But with DP having to go back to work tonight, there was stuff he needed ASAP (I am so gonna go off if insurance insists on replacing .... )

Bec - I would do the normal feed before you go, and not worry about a bath or routine that night ... but that's just me, and I am on baby #4!! LOL! But I try not to do stuff in the evenings or night time anyway

Vic - isn't it funny when you feel like you have to have a neat house for visitors? LOL!! I know I'm the same, but alot of the time, it doesn't go according to plan, and I end up with people seeing how messy our house is most of the time!

Mel - hope Miss M had a better day

Alesia - I wrap Master V for every sleep still, but it's good (as I found out yesterday) cause if we are out and I wrap him, he is asleep within 5 minutes!!

We had preschool xmas party yesterday, and as soon as I saw V getting whingy, I wrapped him and put the hood of the pram up, he sooked for about a minute, then sucked his thumb and went to sleep for an hour!!! Today however, I forgot a blankie, so I couldn't wrap him and he just cried and cried until I picked him up! So he knows that wrapping is the cue to sleep! My little darling!

Sash - have more kids, that'll keep you occupied! LOL!

MT - he had two trailers of freight for a courier company (I guess the photos give away which one! LOL)

Oh yeah, and how it happened - the drive tyre on the drivers side punctured and blew, the rubber got stuck and the wheel sparked on the road, catching the brake lines and igniting the fuel tank. The truck was on fire while he was still trying to find a safe spot to pull over

Anyways, I have 3 little munchkins who are not co-operating with the bed time routine!! (And neither of them are the baby! LOL!)

Better scoot! Big hi's and hugs to everyone I've missed!

    Hi all!!

So much to say so little time!!!

MM... Wow- your dh is sooo lucky he is ok!! He must have a gaurdian angel up there looking out for him!!

Squidipa... I say do what works for you- and FF seems to be the best thing for Joshie and thats all that matters! I am guessing a whopping 400grams for the next weigh in!

Mel.. Hope DS is feeling better

To the new comers!! Im Kat and my little man Shane was due August 19th but arrived August 3rd- we are bfeeding and he is acomplete boobie addict!! He loves to talk and his latest thing is to do this cute little shrug and blow a raspberry- so adorable!! He gets wrapped at night- but not so much during the day- he WAS sleeping though the night but has lately started waking again at about 2 or 3am which is when i bring him into bed with me and we snooze and feed till about 8am!

Oh and these ladies ARE HUGE chatters!!! I can never keep up!!

We have made it to our new house safe and sound! Lil Shane was a trooper and slept really well- we stopped about every 3 hours or so for feeds and a little play and then he would go back to sleep after a bit of a cry in the car- was a bit toturous to listen to- but i think he coped ok- probably better than i did!!

Well DH is bugging me for the computer so i will try and come back later for some more personals- take care everyone

and big to everyone i have missed!!!

    Goodnight!

    Morning All!!

CHEAP Huggies!!! Our local Foodland had them out for $28.76 a box, so I bought the crawler size as they don't do infant boxes adn she will fit them shortly, and we only have enough cloth for part time... I really should try some itti bitti's out, waiting for better colours to come into stock. Apparently KMART has them for about the same price if you are looking

N has started arching her back, like she actually wants to roll onto her tummy So I am moving her further away from her toys she she might decide to roll towards them to reach them Still goes from tummy to back, just not the other way.

MM OMG OMG OMG You DH was sooo lucky, I can't believe he got just the one night off , Yeah it's a bit like that, it actually look respectable, when she got here, I managed to jump through the shower, pack the dishwasher, make some bacon, egg, cheese and mushroom pastries (almost had them in the oven before the arrived), and cleaned up the living room, all in about 40min, was pretty happy with myself.

Hope Beth gets back into kilter quickly for you, but glad you had a good night Rachel Premmie Playgroup was really useful, it was about what toys to buy, our OT came in (Occupational Therapist). This was the list for those whom are interested:

    • Blocks, wooden are better, can be just cheap ones, but check for sharp corners/edges, may need to be softened with use/washing or a light sand.
    • Cups, in various sizes, you can get a cheap bunch of stackable cups in bright colours, cheap fromt he supermarket.
    • A ring stacker - usually a flat base with a post and about 4 plastic rings on varying sizes
    • Books and lots of them
    • A baby doll, can be anything really with two eyes and a mouth, arms and legs

All toys are best to be just plain and simple, no flashing lights etc, they are designed to encourage imagination and these toys will grow with the baby, as they develop more they will learn to use them in different ways. She also recommended that if stuff does have a lot of flshing lights/noises that it does so for a short amount of time, to keep them bein interative with the toy. One's that go for 30 seconds make them lazy

SB glad the move went well, the littles often tend to cope a bit better than we do! Hope all goes well settling in.

Beckoes, hope today is better for you *HUGS* I move her and she end's up waking up, at PP I she started to get grotty (should have wrapped her at the start as I let her get overtired and had to cuddle her to sleep, she usually self settles, even in her pram, she slept for about an hour, then I fed her at just before 3pm, as after PP we went to get nappies and I knew it would be trickier and more uncomfotable to feed her anywhere else. I then try to get her back into her routine, but in the end we just accept if we chose to go out and change it up and she doesn't go to bed at the right time then she will probably wake earlier etc.

Aww about the yoga Sasha, I hope Kye is more cooperative next time

Well must be off or Nakita's morning sleep will be over!!

Pixie - must be something in the NSW air - Master V woke at 5am too!!! Hasn't done that in a while And yeah, DP got the one night off, and only because he didn't get back to the depot till 3pm (as opposed to 6am!) and wouldn't have had the required "at least" 10 hour break!

SB - so glad the move went well for you!

Vic - itti's are good! I only have 2 of them, cause I wanted to try both kinds (AIO and snap in ones) and I like how they fit in the nappy bag when I need to go out (yes, I have finally taken the plunge and do cloth nappy changes out and about! LOL!) V was just getting too much of a rash from sposies (even though occasionally I still have to use them) but I think last week, I only used sposies on both boys twice!! Very happy

Just OTT for a bit - I was flicking through the New Idea at shopping today and reading how Bec Hewitt is scared she'll be left at home with both "babies" (well Mia is 3 now!) while Lleyton kick starts his career again. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD is all I can say! LOL. Sheesh, it must be soooooo hard to have all that money Seriously, surely she would have known that he wasn't just gonna sit around at home just cause they're having another baby?? Whinging celebrities! LOL!

Anyway, got heaps of dishes to do and a stack of clean clothes to fold (you know it's bad when the kids don't have any socks left in their drawers! )

to everyone, hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Hello girls. Was not too bad day, except pumpkin started to greezle and soo sadly give me long sentences of complains, putting her both hands in her mouth. I am thinking about teething? Who has got older bubs, how they started to teeth, what was the signs? Not really looking forward to teething period.
Today introduced brocoli with carrot - she was asking for more and more till her little plate was fully empty. I do not even count spoons anymore - just stop when she is not interested.
Beema, we had huggies in wa for 29.99 in iga, I think I bought about 4 boxes lol. Good saving in the end!
    Wish everyone lovely weekend! :*

Alicia- I think we are starting to get teeth here too- his hands are in his mouth 24/7 and drooling everywhere!! also he has started really chomping on my boobie during feeds! I have had a little oke around in his mouth and cant see anything yet- but i think deep in there something is going on for him!!

We started with some food yesterday!! DH has been absolutely ITCHING to start real food- as we dont hve our blender here yet- we have resorted to heinz, but that will change when we have all our kitchen things- he tried the prsni carrot and sweet potatoe and LOVED it!! Ate a whole half a jar!! But i have a few questions for experienced (or not so experienced) food feeders....

1... he hasnt poo'd for a few days, we tried some other food about 2 days ago- but wasnt too successful as we didnt heat it up and i wouldnt say he actually consumed much of it- but no poo for a few days.. is this normal when starting solids???? The ,longest we have gone with no poo before is a bout 2 days- he still has very wet nappies, and he is farting like a champion, but no poo!!

    2. We fed him the baby food at about 4pm and he was full of beans for the whole afternoon/evening!! Very happy mind you- but full of beans way past bed time!! Should i make a concious effort to feed him the food in the morning or a bit earlier than 4pm? He usually is up till about 8:30 or so with a nap at about 5:30 6pm, but he skipped his nap and was up till about 10:30!!! lol

oH ANd nappies.. bloody DH bought the wrong size!!!! DS is between 6-7kg and yes the packet says 4-8kg so DH thinks yeah perfect, but i find the sizing is a bit extream and he always grows out of the them before the packet says he will and i had been using the 5-11kg, which fit great- DH goes and buys the 4-8 kg and they are soo small!! Lucky he didnt bulk buy- only a pack of 48 and since they are so small and filling up very quick i am using them quickly and wont feel too bad when i buy the RIGHT size before the packet is finished!!! lol

Oh a bit oh wahoo... DS is sitting along for longer periods at a time, but another question.. he seems to lean forward alot for his balance- he puts his hands down infron tof him to stay up- should i be worried about posture yet- like should i try and get him to sit up straight or will that come in time?
Beema - thanks for the list!! I actually have most of that stuff bought for ds for xmas!! The blocks are plastic though, but they stack too- as well as the ring stacker!! He has a new teddy nanna gave him as a going away present whick he loves to snuggle with- and shove in his mouth lol but he is doing that with EVERYTHING lately!!! His hands, my hands, ANYTHING!!!! LOL

Well its playtime now- someone asked before about entertaining.. i have a playschool jungle playmat that ds loves to lie in- i have a number of different hanging toys i rotatefor him- and it plays music- but i dont always turn that bit on. i lay with him and play but he is also quite happy to lay there on his own and play- great for when i have to run and pee or eat or something quick like that. Lately i have been sitting him in there he loves it coz he gets to see and touch different things than when he is laying in it. I find the most fun time we have though is just talking to eachother!! DH and i can both talk underwater with our lips sewn up- and it seems DS has inherited our chatty ways!! We just have "conversations" or i sing to him and we dance- it can fill hours in a day!!!

    bye for now!!
