Kiwi Girl i have had mastitis before and i know how Painful it can be I hope your feeling better today sweet!

Hi everyone, Josiah had a feed around 11 then i put him to bed put dummie in mouth at some random time and stroked his nose and he went t sleep. I kept my arm in the basinette with him and at 4.30 he fed again then at 6.30 i slept better i put him in bed with me at 4.30 i slept he fed hehe.
this morning i have had army green poop smudged on the stepping stool to deal with and wee on floor grrr. It must have been his late night pee. Its not like him to do that the 3 year old i mean. He gets so frustrated with himself to if something like that happened. Last night i found drawing on my couch grrr.

Yesterday and today not much blood loss but i have been having cramps and the sensitive tummie is still there with sharp pains too. Mid wife appointment to day fr a weigh in.

The ex husband said last night that he was cool with taking kids to nz so i cant wait to tell them today They will be so happy but its gonna cost us almost everything we got. It will be worth it so the 6 of us will be going Memba i said the inlaws was paying for two adults so its juts 3 kids to pay for josiah is free

Kel where are you maybe i should text ya are you alright?

Well I'm feeling a tonne better now the fever has gone!! It ranged from 38-39.4 degrees from Tuesday night until late Thursday night. Yuck.
    Thanks everyone for your messages

MM I hope you don't get the flu or mastitis - I started off feeling like I was getting the flu: sneezing lots, achy all over, tired, fever.

Vic, I think you asked how long Eli feeds for? Usually about 20 mins in total, he is a bit of a guzzler though!! I also got a pic of the boys having a nap together here

Weighed myself today and I've lost 9kg of the 14kg I put on during pregnancy, yay!

kiwi girl that is a VERY VERY VERY VERY nice picture.

Well im all exited today as ya know cause i just posted this morning we are taking the kids to New Zealand with us wont have a stack load of cash t throw round but it will be nice all the same lots of picnic and some sight seeing for kids but nothign to far away as i am the only driver. Cant wait to tell them!!!!! I still have to put some numbers together tho would like to have that done before telling them but we will see what happeneds. Cant wait to see their reactions. Altho on a downer don't like the idea of telling my father we are going to nz. As i know he mises me heaps. I miss him more than anyone else also but going back to w.a on a holiday or visit is very stressful for me and has high risks, my other part of the family just have me totally stressing out. Dont think its worth the investment If you know what i mean.

The inlaws always seem to help out so much when we go to nz and with out that help of simple things it just woudlnt be possible eg: loaning us a car and a Place to stay so we arnt all cooped up like chickens with the inlaws. Mind you i love my inlaws i get along real well with them there is a lot of respect. I love chatting away with my father inlaw its abit like a second dad.

My brain is rushing around with excitement.. Or MAYBE its the FRESH COFFEE! I just finally filled my coffee machine up with water and coffee beans As i sorta packed it away for while i was in hospital so hasnt been turned on for months now. Packed it away well before we had bubs as i didnt want a sudden labor and b concerned about old coffee dregs in the machine or water going mouldy as i am the only one whom knows how to clean it.

That's so awesome your ex changed his mind about the trip! So happy for you! If you drive up to Dargaville via SH16 (not SH1) then you should drop by on your way up, we are not much of a detour off the highway.

Glad you like the photo I want to get that one enlarged.

    Morning Girls!!

We have had a lot of success with trying to stick to our feeding routine and settling techniques. The only prob- when he wakes up too early i end up spending 2 hours awake- one hour keeping him asleep and then an hour ep with him feeding etc... Also DH is trying to make him stick to a 4 hour break/sleep between feeds- i am finding that hard- not only on my leaky boobies- but i think 3 hours is a better time- just one of those things we are disagreeing about.
    BIG VENT COMING UP>>>>>>
He isnt even happy with me bfeeding- every day since the day Shane as born he has come up with SOME stupid reason or another to suggest he should be on formula with a bottle. It is really starting to ge to me- i have told him that it upsets me and makes me feel like he doesnt think i am doing a good enough job when he keeps bringing ti up- and having all these different excuses (like yesterday's "How do i know milk is coming out just coz Shane is sucking- he sucks his dummy happily with no milk- maybe he is just sucking on my boob and getting nothing" WTF????????????????? Ummm, hello!!!!!!!!!! There is no milk in a dummy DUIMMY thats why nothing comes out- but there is milk is my boobies- and lots of it- and all Shane has to do is lick one of my nipples and i start leaking like a fire hose (which DH has seen happen) so of course it comes out when he sucks- but as i have no 100% proof- besides the fact he spews MILK (gee where did that come from??????) that he is getting milk!! GGGRRRRR- I have an express pump there- but i have been warned that i should wait a little while longer before starting to express- but i am at the point now that i am going to start trying express coz f*ck it at least its a damn bottle- but its still my milk he is getting- some kind of compromise at least!! Although one of his other "reasons" to get him on the bottle was so he could help put at night- well even if i start expressing- i will need to get up to express during the night anyway- but at least then we can both be up together instead of just me.

Ok vent over (i think)... i am starting to think too that the mini pill is having its effect on me mentally, and not in a good way- ever since the day after i started taking it i have had a cry in the evening(every evening- where as before that i hadnt cried once!! Except when my bum really hurt!!) and have been really short with DH which is never good- as it just makes him get the *****s too and we both end up cranky.. i think i will stop taking it- i am still bleeding abit- so its not like we are actually doing anything that requires contraception right now- i think i will try other options!!

Rachel.. Owie- I hope that mastitis gets better soon!!!

Beema.. Shane is still not liking his belly time- i tried again last night and then some more this morning- last night he was doing push ups!! lol (quite a strong little fella) but wasnt enjoying himself at all!!! I will keep trying him with it- might try the towel idea!! Thanks

MM... Happy One Month Vaygas!!! I hope your not getting sick mate!! Sorry you had a full on night- have had a few of them here too- i sympathise!!!

squidipa... NZ sounds like fun!! I have never been there myself- but DH and i have it on our list of places we would like to go!! Where abouts in QLD are you? i am in northern NSW- pretty close to the border- maybe a meet up will be possible one day!
I would talk to the midwife about your belly pains.... yu also said your legs were getting sore right??? I know they ask me all the time if i have sore legs- due to the surgery- did you wear those tight stocking thingy's in the hospital??? I think its to prevent clots or something- i would get it checked out either way- better to be safe than sorry!!

Mel.. Hope all is well with you- must have had a fun night the other night!!

Well Little one is sleeping- might try and do the same.. bye for now!!

Star bright big hugs sweet!!! I hope you sort out the bottle and boob issue with hubbie sounds very annoying and frustrating. You are doing a good job. I have to wonder WHY as in why and what is his real reason for not wanting you to breast feed??? Is it cause your boobs are his maybe i dunno but it does bring up some questions Does he not believe breast is best? Is it he is just concerned that what if shane isnt getting enough to eat? Could it be that? I wonder if you get to the bottom of the real question if maybe it could be sorted out.
He seems concerned by shane not getting milk, enless he is just trying to annoy you with a very silly comment when you boobs are leaking all the time. Has he ever felt your boob before and after a feed and felt the difference? Does shane get regular weigh ins? maybe get him weighed more with hubbie present thats petty Dam good proof he is fine.
As for how often shane does feed and sleep i think if your the one doing it all the time maybe you should just do what you feel si best they say mothers instinct is always best

As for location i am in Caboolture

vic sounds like a fine happy day there, feeding times dont normally take to long here i am so grateful for that a for bounty bag at target yeah i got myn last week it had another 10 dollar voucher in it. The 3 year old only egts up to crap when i am not watching like with josiah thats why its gotten worse. he also today poured a whole heap of water over himself int he bathroom and made a big mess trying to clean it up. While i was sorting josiah out. He makes a lot more work for me i tell ya! As for the bath i was thinking wow that bath looks s small or he is soooo long hehe if you sue the laundry tub be careful to wash it out thoughraly and make sure your very sure on bath temp. My mother always bathed us in the tub but you do need to be careful if its metal as it heats up and hold heat easily so start with cold water filling first and after you put the hot in run cold again just incase baby touches the pouring spout of tap. Same with metal baths too. Im prbbbaly saying what ya already know but betetr safe than sorry.

    Hi guys,

Just a quick one from me. Got an infection in my gut so was in hospital last night - but is nothing life threatening, just have to rest up and have lots of fluids... yada yada yada....

Rachel - I hope your mastitis gets better soon ouch!!! Huge hugs to you... gorgeous pic too btw...

SB - perhaps its more that he feels left out of the new relationship you have with your little man? Its one HUGE part of bub's life that he has no control over, and can't be involved. I know my DH felt really left out with DS, and to be honest, its a huge contributing factor why I don't BF, and prefer my bubs to be on the bottle..cos it works for my family ya know?? You shouldn't have to feel pressure to do something that you don't ant to do though!!! Maybe after a few weeks you could express and your DH could give him a bottle or something? I think the recommended waiting time is 6 weeks befor introducing a bottle.

Squidipa - that 3 year old certainly sounds like a troublemaker or maybe just after mummy's attention... cheeky little things they are aren't they!!!

Vic - I'm glad the sorbolene is working

MM - happy one month yesterday to Veygas!!!!

Ohhh Mel - rest up hun, take it easy.

Katti - DH gives Nakita her 9.30pm feed with a bottle of EBM, we have been doing if from early days only cos I had to express and Nakita takes boob and bottle no problem.... It is his special time with her and loves it... also makes it easier for us in the future if we need for someone else to give her a feed IYKWIM

I forgot I was supposed to be on this thread!!! Just spent twenty minutes trying to catch up with all the posts~!
YAY squidipa on your XH letting you go to NZ! You must be soooo excited. I am dying to go to NZ but will have to wait till we have some cash.... and get DD a passport etc.
Hey Kiwigirl, I'm Rachel too - but happy to be the pixie to avoid confusion. hope you're feeling better hun.
Beema - you are always soooo happy! it's great! Great news on Nakita's booties... bet she still kicks them off though, Beth always does. About the wipes, DD always grizzles with huggies (even sensitive) and curash wipes. I got a tip on a baby wipes thread about buying home brand make-up remover wipes and soaking them in water. They're great! She doesn't mind them at all, and they only cost $1.55 a packet which is like a fifth of the dedicated baby wipes. I don't know why you need all those chemicals in something you're only going to wipe your baby's bum with IYKWIM. I don't wipe my bum with chemicals so why do I want to do it to her?
Mel - bugger about the infection - was it related to the CS or something else completely? Hope you feel better.
SB hope you get things sorted out.... minipill could easily be the problem, surely its enough of a hormonal rollercoaster already without adding that to the mix?
Going to start expressing so the Bear can do a late night feed. He is such a foodie he hates missing out on feeding her LOL. We bought a steriliser at a garage sale and it needs a good clean out so I have to wait till i can find some citric acid, whatever that is LOL. But then can't wait to use my electric pump LOL.
MM, kel, and.... everyone else.... promise I'll try to keep up from now on! LOL

ETA - and about the bath thing, we have got a little rubber duckie with a thermometer on the bottom.

Ugh! Had another bad one last night, but at least this time, it only lasted an hour!! I think it's moreso cause I'm not feeling 100%, Veygas picks up on it, but I just wish he'd understand that I am better to him rested than tired and sick!!

Pixie - I think you can get citric acid in the same place in the supermarket as the spices, herbs and bi-carb soda ... I've used it in cooking a couple of times (and it is also a great ingredient in home made bath bombs cause it fizzes!!)

Yay Vic, for Nakita fitting in her booties!!

Katti - I started on the mini pill about 9 or 10 months after #3 was born, and I had the same thing - terrible mood swings, crying at the drop of a hat ... my DP said to me after only 3 days to stop taking it!!

Apparently too, the combined pill dries up your milk - I had a friend whose doc put her on it and in less than a week, she wasn't producing milk any more (she forgot to tell her doc she was BFing, and her doc never asked - I think it goes to show so many people assume all babies are on formula ... sorry, that was in another thread I was reading the other day!)

Mel and Rachel - hope you both get better real soon!! I know what it's like to be sick with a newborn (thankfully that abscess has cleaed up since having it drained!)
Rachel, have you noticed any change in Eli's feeding behaviour since being on antibiotics?

Vic, we have the regular baby bath but we also have a little seat thing that suctions on to the bottom of the normal bath. Veygas is still too small for it, but if I'm in a hurry and want the kids to all have baths quickly, I'll use that instead - I'll try to get DP to take a photo of him in it over the weekend ...

Squidipa - YAY for being able to go to NZ as a whole family!!! That is awesome!!

I'm sure there was more I wanted to write, but this has taken me about half an hour so far and my mind has gone blank!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

pixie.. did ya know that virgin fly's kids under two years FREE yep they do

MM.. I do hope you feel better soon and vegas settles more at night. I am a terrible person when i have lack of sleep bad patience Hope you get a good night sleep tonight.

Midwife came and went took 2 hours. We watched a movie on knowing the tiered signs of baby and settling ways. She was very informative. She said that to be sure that baby doesn't sleep only on one side as he will get flat head. I was like ahh o.k didn't know that. Knew about there hair falling out and being rubbed of but not about flat head interesting it was.

Confirmed its cool to feed bubs water if i want. She is concerned with his attaching on to my boob well it's a mixer eithor the tongue tie could be causing problem or the attaching on to boob . Me well i dont see any issue bubs is feeding fine gaining weigh so what the issue? hrmm. She measured and weighed him and checked him from head to toe.
Anyones baby got birth marks?? ours does a large on on his shoulder its pale like in color up to his neck and down to his nipple on left side. Altho mid wife wants it checked just encase it a circulation problem so next time at drs ill do this. Josiah also has a strawberry small mark on his left arm. My 3 year old has circulation issues.

She also said and asked does he pee off to the side i said you would guess so with it being a bit leaning over that way. why am i sharing this well its true and i dunno is any of your boys lika that none of my other two were. So i guess on the 2nd we will find out about that when we see the dr surgeon.

Oh i bough a bunch of boys clothes in ebay today 0000-2 sizes cost me 98 with post for 90 items so i think thats pretty cool. Disney peter rabbit pumpkin and kmart target, bonds, Gap and otehr brands so i good variety winter and summer things. I also received my hubbies fathers day gift from me to him today. I am soooo Dying to share with you all what it is as i think its awesome but dont want hubbie reading my post.

She also said she wanted me to see a dr as thinks i might have an infection

Josiah was 3640grams thats 210 grams in 1 week

Awww Rachel, that photo is just gorgeous, I reckon you might be enlarging that one!! I am very jealous for feeds being done in 20 minutes, we have got it down to pretty much an hour now, although the 2.30am feed was 1.5 this morning, and I did stretch her out to 7.30 am (usually 7am), she woke at 5:55am (my old wake up time - pre baby!!!) pulled her into bed and she resettled.

Love the playmat too We have all Nakita's tiny toys on it too and big soft blocks which she really loves!

So glad to hear the fever has abated :woot: for the weight loss!! I havn't weighed myself for a few weeks but I had 4 kg to lose..... might have to do that! don't think I have lost much more recently, need to get back to the gym!!

MT has has mastitis as well, not fun at all for either of you She should be back online next week - woo hoo!

Gee Squidipa, your 3yr old is quite a challenging little fella - keeps ya on your toes - woot for being able to take all the kids to NZ !!

Mel - I did two applications of sorbelene on Nakita's head the other day and the cradle cap is almost gone, so I think if I do one more she'll be right, but I will save your method up should I need it!!

*** Katti my Ob said not to start taking the mini-pill until 4 weeks PP, maybe you should stop and strt again in a couple of weeks - your homrmones are probably going bunta!! WTF re the bf'ing - if you got, it works and Shane is doing well keep it going, every drop is liquid gold - tell him the WHO (World Health Organisation - recommends at least 6 months of bf'ing)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nakita still grizzles with the TT as well!

Hope the rest of our yummy mummies are back online soon!

Nakita is just wonderful this morning - what a little angel when she has has a good sleep, not even a grizzle when I changed her bum between sides. Now this is weird we have been using Huggies sensitive Wipes - thick ones, they are really cold and she really grizzles with them, but I ran out and have been using some free johnsan's one's we got at both hospitals, and they are thinner softer and she doesn't grizzle or at least not as much... I don't use any other Johnsan's stuff and wasn't going to but might have to use the wipes if it keeps Nakita happier at change time!

Lovely clear blue skies here today, so I am going to take Nakita on a big walk

Has anyone collected the last Bounty Bag from Target yet?

We are going to have to get another bath for Nakita, my parents gave me theirs from when we were little, but Nakita stretches out the whole time and nearly touches each end, worried she's gonna bash her noggin!! My brother was going to loan us his, so I might have to give him a call and see when he is next coming to town.. in the meantime I will measure the laundry tub and see if it is bigger and we can use that!

Woot - some games arrived for our PS3 yesterday hubby and I played Sega Rally - so much fun!!

FINALLY SOME BOOTIES FIT NAKITA AND THEY STAY ON!!!! ONLY TAKEN 7.5 WEEKS!!!
