When she was born the first words i said was this "how the f*** did she fit in there"
LOL squidipa! my first words when they put DD on my chest were "ew she's so slimy!" that will sound great in the mini-series hey!
Beema - I know what you mean, I wouldn't be too keen on being TOLD you will go out and MIL will look after the baby. But maybe your DH is just trying to give you a break. The Bear encourages me to go up to the shops while he looks after DD, and it is good to remember that you're a separate person sometimes! Besides shopping is sooooo much easier without the stroller, car seat and time constraints. Maybe instead of doing things around the house you could do something nice for yourself like going shopping for some new clothes, getting a haircut & colour/manicure/massage. That's so hard to do with a baby and you have really earned some pampering. Beats whipper-snippering too!
MM bummer about the cold weather, and unfortunately it doesn't look any better today!
Leash - I had a slightly different thing. When they first let her out of NICU, I was too scared to do anything but feed her, change her nappy and put her down to sleep. and for about the first week when we got home I would sometimes think it was all a dream and that she hadn't made it. that was really awful.
    Mel - Just
Big to kiwigirl, sasha, kel etc hope you all have a good day!

    Hello,

MM- I have been to Stanthorpe it's sooooo beautiful in Autum. I didn't get to see too much it was a school camp. I would love to go back down on a wine and cheese tasting tour mmmmm wine and cheeeeeese

The pixie- HAHA I thought that about Cadence and I couldn't believe they wouldn't let me wash her for two days!

Vic- sweety I remember how empty I felt when I left Cadence for about 20 mins just to get something from the local shops. But later when she was 6 weeks old I went for a girls night out I really needed it especially after 9 months of pregnancy and the first month and a half of constant feeding washing and cleaning I was able to let my hair down for a night. We lived in Darwin and when Cadence was 2 weeks old the army sent DF away for almost 2 months. Mum and Dad were up and looked after her for that night I went out.
Sometimes it's good to have that YOU time when they are so little cos when they get older it's actually harder to leave them

Mel- A meet up would be great I'll have cadence thats all and she can be a little poo hee hee

Squidipa- HAHA I agree with you new borns are so little but it's amazing how they fit inside your tummy. I was looking at Allegra's head the other night and put my hand over it and said to DF How the Heck did i manage to push that out my hand just fits over the top of her head! I'm shuddering at the memory of her crowning.
How sweet of your hubby to make you a love heart shaped cake, I 've banned DF from cooking anything cos he never cleans up after himself HAHA

Hello to all mums and bubs out there sorry for lack of personals

I'm a bit PO'ed at the moment we were suppose to have a realestate agent come to do an equity Evaluation on the house at 9:45 um that was almost over an hour ago! Not proffesional at all! and now would be perfect as Allegra is asleep better go give Cadence some food she's hungies and so am I

Kel - mmmmmmm wine and cheese!! I could handle that!

I went shopping this morning and on the way, dropped into the hossie, where they gave me not only the u/s reports that had been faxed to them (they too were amazed that a copy hadn't been put in with the films) but also the reports from the x-rays he had there on saturday!! So I think I am well equipped to see this surgeon on Monday now!!

I know this is going to sound gross, but the last few nights, we have had curry for dinner, and the last couple of days, Veygas hasn't had any problems shifting wind (or poo for that matter!! )

Vic - the first time I left my 1st born with my mum was for a whole day when he was 3 months old ... I had an on campus session at uni and wasn't sure on their "baby policy" (spewing when I found out I could have taken him!!) When I got home, he had refused all the EBM I had left, he refused formula that my mum had bought and he had pretty much gone hungry for 12 hours! (poor little tike!)

Squidipa - I haven't heard from my mum at all since Veygas was born, in fact the last time I saw her was in march for Khaemon's birthday ... it upset me at first, but now I'm more disappointed than anything cause I KNOW she's gonna call in about a years time and be all sad about missing out on her grandkids growing up.

My IL's on the other hand want to be here ALL THE FREAKIN TIME ... my FIL rang DP the other night to tell him they were coming up on Sunday (not ask!) and he told them they couldn't and explained what was happening with Veygas (personally I would have rathered he didn't cause I didn't really want to alarm people) and that we didn't want him getting stressed / over stimulated etc so FIL says they'll come on Saturday instead. DP says if sunday isn't good, what makes you think saturday will be ok, and now IL's are all offended that we don't want them here.

Re: Stanthorpe, for some reason, I want to move there ... DP says I don't know what it's like, but when I first moved here (before I met him) I had no freakin idea where the place even was, all I knew is that this is where I wanted to live. I have that same feeling about Stanthorpe now! Call me crazy, but sometimes I just gotta go with the flow!

to Mel, Pixie & Bear, MT, Rachel, Sasha, Leasha, Kel, Vic, Squidipa ... have I forgotten anyone? Oh yeah, Katti, hope you and Shane are doing well ... sorry if I've missed anyone!

    Good morning everyone!

OMG, we have gone quiet!!!! :O We even got bumped to page 2!!!

Well, i have been up since 4am - I think Veygas's hernia is giving him grief - he hadn't fed since 2am and spent from 4am screaming, even a warm bath didn't calm him down, but I think it helped a little bit ... got him to feed again at 8am (finally!) and although he whinged a fair bit, I was able to put him back to bed and calm him enough so that he sleeps. I think the panadol I gave him at 6.30am may have helped ...

So I am feeling a bit like a zombie atm, but so much housework to do - dishes to be done, washing to be folded, floors to be steam mopped (they have been neglected for 6 weeks!! aaargh! ) and all I wanna do is sleeeeeeeeeep

Oh well, hope y'all are having a better day than me so far!

    Morning MM and everyone!
Well, we took Beth to the doctors this morning for her cold. It was freezing cold and pouring with rain so I wasn't happy having to take her out. And the doctor said basically we were doing everything we can for her and there is nothing else he can do! so it was a bit of a waste of time but at least we got some reassurance that we are doing everything possible for her. Not much going on around here except a whole lotta snot!
Hope everyone else's day is a bit more glamourous! LOL!

MM I so hear you about inlaws and family members. On the case of not wanting to to worry them we didnt tell anyone that Josh was he is deaf he doesnt respond to loud noises only vibrations. We didnt tell anyone about he crooked winkie. Goods luck for monday

We had a weight gain on Thursdays weigh in but baby book is in care so cant yet tell you what that is. As the EX came ova today and fixed my boot lock and the seals on my car and we cant open doors till tomorrow. So tomorrow ill give ya the details as i have to take kids to their dads for fathers day and will be opening the car anyhow.

Dr we saw on thursday was real good and thourah. He said that there were signs of an infection and high protein levels and other stuff in my blood work. He thinks its kidney stones. Oh gosh i hope not had them before. he told em to stop taking the antibiotics as there not working and try an antihistamine. As for protien heck i dont eat enough meat normally and everything he said have you been eating this and that the answer was all no nope. The 3 year old we believe has asthma so he has a script for a puffer.

I am exausted run down and feeling real flat my iron levels were not so great either i am already taking 4 teaspoons of fiber a day to compensate for the iron so now it will have to be at least 6. i think i might need to swollen a blinking freight train to keep this ***** moving

Oh BTW josh started rolling at 1 month 1 day. It was also then that he started communicating differently with squeals. Question the dr i went to seems to think that even tho ya boob goes soft after feeding he reckons its not outa milk and i should feed till no more milk comes outa that boob. Its blinking aweful i dont think i make enough as when it goes soft there is still milk there but its bloody hard to get josh to stay attached to a very floppy soft over pliable thing its sorta like trying to put jelly in ya end of ya pinky and expecting it to stay there and not slip around and move. Any one else get this issue???

Vic... my mother inlaw once said to me and the Ex hubbie go out i will watch your daughter and gave us a date. We felt almost pushed into it. We had to drive for 40 mins to drop her off. And the mother in law was like go see a move have time together. Nice thought really it was. But we also wernt ready we would have loved just to rest at home and not even gone out. We waisted a whole day. We took her to the grandmothers house and drove to the local shop and sat there for 3 hours doing nothing as we didnt have any money for lunch or anything as we used it all up in petrol getting out to the inlaws place. Not that we told her that. But back then money was real hard for us. We had no savings at all. Hope you sort this out soon with a desition your comfortable with.

Hello everyone else sorry if i missed you. I wish josh had a routine in the day. I cant seem to get anything done or anything busted my but doing tea last night and i burnt it Grrrr!

Gudism want to meet thursday morning? if so what time would suit you and where in the morayfield shops ay want to meet?

Happy fathers day every ones DH and DF and happy fathers day Shell!

Kel you free to meet to on Thursdays or leasha too if gudism doesnt mind???? Meeting at Morayfield shops k

Oh and just as an add on finally its been over 3 years and we have finally put 4 claim's in for criminal comp there is still more to do and w are asking for an extension on it but have put what is so far completed in so far. This is a huge step for us and in October we start, well start to try to start, adoption so things are going to get very emotionally tough for us here, so everyone whom prays in this group .... please keep us in your prayers.!!!

Squidipa did i read that right>??? Are you adopting more children??? or do you mean DH is going to adopt some of yours??
How was everyone's father's day? Ours was OK, went for lunch with my dad and his family and then the Bear's parents came over for dinner, so the poor Bear had to cook a huge meal. But it was absolutely delicious. I got the Bear a Bill Bailey DVD - felt a bit bad because with Beth being sick I really haven't had a chance to get him something nice. But I hope he knows that Beth and I think he is the best daddy in the world.
My dad rang at 8.00 yesterday morning to say happy father's day to the Bear which I thought was really sweet. He was very cute with Beth at lunch yesterday too, carrying her around the restaurant and saying to everyone "have you seen my granddaughter? Isn't she beautiful?" it was really nice.
Anyway, hope everyone had a great day. Got midwife coming shortly so gotta scoot... but to all

The big news for the weekend was that we managed to find a device that deals with blocked noses in newborn infants properly - it's about twenty times for effective than the little fess bulb thingy and causes much less distress, we picked it up on Sunday morning and that made the rest of father's day go a whole heap better without having to listen to Beth snuffling, wheezing and coughing.

Pixie yes hubbie will be adopting one of myn hehe. You did read right. But it could be a hard road for us. As we obviously have to get the biological person to sign off on this. We are currently in hiding and to get that could end up making things worse like if he wants visitation. Obviously it would be supervised but i WONT let that happen. Ill move again if need be. That person is whom i am suing.

Bear... details hey whats the names thats better than fess?????

    good news everyone
    2nd - 5th weight gain 50 grams
5th-8th sep weight gain 150grams We are very happy:... he now weighs 3920 Oh Yeah, Yea Yea Yea Yea :woot

Squidipa YAY for the weight gain!!! Well done!
The thing we are using on DD's nose is called a Nosefrida - google it. It's soooo soooo much better than a fess aspirator. I just used it on DD got out heaps of snot and she slept through the whole thing. She used to howl when I used the fess aspirator.
Well, we just had the midwife come round. Beth has gained a kilo from her weight on discharge from hospital and has grown a huge 4.5 cm in length! The Bear and I were very pleased!

Hi everyone, hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Jazz got Shel a stanley screwdriver kit and a ArmorAll detailing kit, I made her bacon eggs baked beans and toast for breakfast and garlic prawns for dinner. Shel's parents came around, and we had our neice for a few hours while SIL worked, walked down to shop for fish and chips for lunch. A very nice day!

Went to dr for Jazz and she got weighed today, holy cow she is a heffa! 5kg! She was 3790g at birth! Enough reason for me to stop worrying about my boobs going out of order, I am pretty sure they are working fine. Man, I was surprised! And 4cm longer than birth length! I didn't even notice that she grew!

My 15yo bro is having surgery today, just got a text from mum to say that he just went in. Just a minor procedure, to get his toes straightened, only one or two nights stay. Nothing like his last one that was an 8hour operation (double femoral osteotemy, tenden lengthenings behind knee, and metal plates in ankles to straighten them), 2 weeks in hospital and 6 weeks in a spica plaster (belly button to toes, both legs, only a small wedge cut out so he could do numbers 1s and 2s). So this one is basically nothing, probably 2-3 hours at the most, but I can't help but worry of course. He will be absolutely fine, but I can't help being a protective big sister!

My sister got us a Wii for $250 YAY! so lucky she works at cash converters! She got me a nintendo ds lite for $99 about 6 weeks ago. Now I need to get a hold of a fit board and I can try and get back into shape! Of course, try is the main word! LOL!

Well, gonna go browse BB, then sleep.

Oh, Jazz went into her cot Saturday night. Her cot is right next to our bed. She started wriggling down the bed, and even with the sleeper that we have I found it too unsettling to find her almost covered by the doona so she is now in her cot until her early morning feed and then I bring her in with us lol and I sleep with my arm around her so I know where she is. Would sleep like that all night except at the moment I am so tired once I'm asleep I'm asleep and I don't know if I'd still keep my arm around her when I am sleeping so deeply. Early morning I am fine, I'm a morning person so usually awake around 5-6am, just not out of bed these days lol! It makes sleeping a lot more comfy having her in the cot since we just have a double bed and the sleeper took up so much room!

Oh, squidipa, congrats on Josh's weight gain!!!!!!!

Ok, going now lol. BBL for personals!

    Evening Girls

Keeping this shortish I am buggered and planning to have an early night...

    THANKYOU MEL

The MCN's arrived and they fit perfectly - OMG soo cute!! Here is a picture of Nakita in the one with the sheep!!! Little miss was a little grumpy or I would have taken the bodysuit off for the piccies!

    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...n/IMG_2458.jpg

    and

    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...n/IMG_2459.jpg

I owe you for the nappies so might have to trade back some Landscaping advice!!!

They should have started the second story of the framework on our house

Yay Squidipa - what fantastic weight gain, we are hoping to pass 3250grams this week (Weigh in Wednesday), that would bring us up to 1kg over birth weight - but as long as Nakita is gaining some weight and most importantly for us growing in length it doesn't matter, so far it has taken us 10 weeks to get to where we are!

for your little bro Leasha, wish him a quick recovery for us! Sounds like your boobie milk is 'da bomb!!

I'll keep that in mind Pixie - hopefully we don't need to use one - stay healthy Nakita! Awesome weight gain too Beth and length!!

Oh MM that sucks how you could have taken him I am glad I have a new "solution" lol!

Thanks for your works too Kel

Thursday MIL is coming down still, but the plan is for her to come for the morning, she can settle and play with Nakita between feeds, I can do other stuff home or out, we have to sort out DH's car (getting serviced) and in the afternoon Nakita and i have Premmie Playgroup at the WCH, they have special guests and go through massage, milestones, weight gain and heaps of other stuff - it is our first session so I am very excited!! I got the info after the my posts the other day about being "told"!

Wow 10 weeks old - OMG I cannot imagine my life without Nakita now!! Just the light of my life - with her daddy!!!

Sorry if I have missed anyone, huge I am just soo tired - nighty night!

Aw cute pics of Nakita!! Love the sheep

I've been so busy since I last posted - lots of time with my family for father's day, sadly DH's family are sick and wanted to wait to be safe before seeing Eli again.. and doing some work (my brain seems to have slowed down though?!).

Eli was weighed yesterday and has had a growth spurt (not that he needed one?!) and put on 630g this last week. My midwife was saying he should be able to handle 5 hours overnight between feeds now (he was still 3 hours) and then oddly that night (last night) he slept for 6 hours! Ironically, I woke up soo full of milk and was worried at how long he'd been without a feed. I'm hoping he does this every night from now on though!

Leasha - have been thinking of your brother, hope everything is going well for him. How's the wii? I'm wanting to feel fit again and hoping to go back to the gym in a week or so.. but the wii looks a fun way to get exercise hehe.

Squidipa - glad josh is more settled now you're off antibiotics and his weight gain is going well again! Btw, I asked my midwife what's a min amount of weight gain a week they're looking for and she said 100g (but if Eli only put on 30g in a week she wouldn't be worried heh) - so your 90g wasn't much off that anyways.

thepixie - thanks for info on Nosefrida - if I have to use something one day, I'll check that out.

MM - how did the appointment go?

sasha, kel and mel: hope you're doing well!

Hi to everyone else I've missed

630grams OH MY GOODNESS oh my my my WOW you got ya self a GREAT feeder there. Good work mom!!!! yeah i am happy there is at least over 100 grams of weight.

Vic .. thanks for sharing the pics I also am trying to book the car in for a service ive just also found a big leak in it grrr

The last week or more Josh has been sleeping from anywhere from 5.30 to 7.30 he goes to sleep then If i am lucky ill force feed him at 10... the other night he wouldnt wake and i was blowing raspberries on his belly hehe So now i just figure leave him so its no 10pm feed then he feeds at 2 am and between 5-6 am then top me ups for the next couple hours Mostly me making sure he is getting enough. So he is having a min 7 hour sleep at night solid.

    Daycare day!

Mel what time we meeting?? kel you coming????
