Hi All,
Am new to this but thought I would try get some advice from you all..
My Son is usually a GREAT sleeper, has been since day 1... but the last week he has started waking up at 5am... he has always been a 7-7 kid but for some reason I cant get him to sleep past 5am... I have tried putting him to bed later which doesnt seem to do anything.... he doesnt wake up hungry or thirsty either.. he weened himself off the bottle at 10 months and eats very well...
HELP HELP HELP!!!!
Hi Georgie, sorry it's taken a while to reply, we're not the chatty bunch we used to be! A few of the girls are having a meet up on the Gold Coast, two of us are moving house (:hello: Mel), one is pregnant with no. 5 :o and I guess the rest of us are just busy running around after toddlers and working or with older kids too :)
Sorry can't help re: the early waking, we get woken up twice a night here  so I'm obviously no expert! Just wanted to say hi and welcome aboard.
Thanks heaps for that....
Yes i know that in alot of ways im lucky as matty has slept through the night since 6 weeks old... but that said.... if you have something good you get used to it and quite frankly... I WANT IT BACK... lol
Hi Georgiegrl! :welcome:
My guess is it is just a phase. If he is sleeping really well, just shorter, I think it is just something he's going to have to work through. Does he have 1, 2, or 3 sleeps during the day? He might even be working towards cutting out a day sleep?
Jett slept through from midnight to 6am from day one, and then it got longer and longer and then one day at about 5 months he needed to wake up every couple of hours! He settled back down to 2 wakes a night, then one and only in the last week has he kind of cut out that last one. Still wakes up, quick sleepy grizzle and then goes back to sleep as usual, all in the space of a minute. His sleeptime at night is about 9.30 through to about 7. So no 12 hours here, but I don't think he needs that because of his day sleeps. But even though we have had the wake ups his sleep in between was good solid sleep, with no trouble settling or resettling.
Hi Everyone Else! Thanks for the catch up while we were up there visiting!! Lovely to meet you all and finally put faces to names! :)
Yes im hoping its a stage... one that ends very soon....
He has 2 sleeps duringthe day... sometimes 1 if we are out and about.. the morning sleep is 1-1/2 hours and the same pretty much in the afternoon. I tried cutting him back to just one sleep and that was HELL... i put him down at 12 which by then he was EXHAUSTED but he only slept for about an hour and would wake up sooooooo grumpy but refused to go back to sleep... and would then be grumpt allllll afternoon.. so i decided to go back to 2 sleeps and he is back to his happy self... but still waking up VERY early in the morning....
I would understand if it was light and that is why he was waking.. but its still pitch black when he wakes up...
georgie I'll swap you for my little terrorist who was up between 11 & 1am last night for no apparent reason and between midnight and 3am the night before!
thats ok pixie.. ha ha
there must have been something in the air last night as matty woke at 11pm too, but i think maybe he just had a nightmare as when i got him up he was still really upset so i gave him cuddles and he eventually fell asleep on me... i LOVE that.. its sooo cute.. just not at 11pm at night.. lol
Hellllloooooo
Wow this thread is quiet now!
Howz everyone else doing?
It is quiet.... I haven't had much to report.....
But I do now.
After a few months of threatening to walk Jett has finally decided to take the plunge. Still early days, he only really started on Tuesday night.
And he has now weaned so we are no longer BF. Not sure how I am feeling about that...
:confetti: for Jett walking
Biggest :grouphug: for Jett weaning, we are down to one feed, total refusal last 3 nights, so just a morning feed, which I don't think will last much longer :(
That is great that Joshie is getting around too, and 8 teeth WOW!!
As for us, most of you know we spent four days in hospital this week, Nakita had an acute infection in her lunch (Pneumonitis, whihc causes inflamation of the lungs) and she was diagnosed with Chronic Mild Asthma (Chronic due to the ongoing cough), although it won't be official until she has 3 attacks I am hoping that she doesn't!!
Nakita is close to crawling, she is trying very very hard, but her leg is getting caught infront and when we bring it rhough she goes flat to her tummy and doens't know what to do. She is rolling quite a bit on the bed, but no where else. So we are definitely making progress with her physio :)
4 teeth we think her eye teeth are moving but can'tse them getting any closer at the moment :)
That is all for us for now!
Hi Everyone!
Just thought I would pop back in here and say :hello:
Things are just so quiet around here....
So, how is everyone doing? Anything new to report?
Jett is still coasting along, now walking full time and is becoming quite the little clown. Loves playing with his dog and cat. He has 7 teeth.... and I'm sure that 8th one is threatening!
And that is about it for us. :)
Take care! Mwah!
josiah has 8 teeth and is taking a few steps by himself he wants to run before walking its carzy lol
Howdy!
Kye has a new top tooth, broke through last week at long last! The other one next to it should be through in a couple of days I reckon!
Bar that nothing else exciting to report here.
MT - yay for Jett fully on the move! for the weaning
Squid - how things for you hun? How's ya pregnancy going?
Mel - how you doing too?
i am still progressing so thats good, scan day is the 14th oct so very much looking forward to that. I have already got signs and evidence of prolaps already so dissapointed but what can ya do. YES we will find out the sex. As for me im alright been very busy recently. Thanks for asking how are you?
Hey all :grouphug:
I do scan the thread, but not much to say!!! Miss M walks behind her walker, but not on her own, and will walk around furniture. Much prefers to crawl, which is what her brother did until he was 15.5 months.
She has uh (let me count.. ).. 11 teeth. All the first set of molars are through, just working on the top eye teeth now, and another one on the bottom as well. Then we're done till the 2 year molars. Hopefully she will get her eye teeth before the next baby comes, which is exactly what happened with DS haha.
I'm glad everyone is going well and busy with their bubs!!! We're all busy down here, trying to settle in, Miss M being party pants in the early hours of the morning (cept for last night, barely a whinge from her, it was most awesome. Would have been MORE awesome if Aricyn didn't wake up at 10pm and then go to bed between us at 11pm. Some nights I just want to cuddle my husband, instead of my 2 year old!!!)
Sooo yeah, thats all from me! :D
:loveshower:
Same here, trying to settle in to a new area. Going pretty well but have had various hiccups along the way which can be time-consuming. I still haven't managed to get madam her 12 month shots for example  Other than that, not much to report.... we love our new house, we are poor as church mice at the moment, family hassles, blah blah blah so haven't been saying much - I feel like i've been in 'a mood' for about 4 months now.
But yeah surely things will start getting better soon... surely....
haha pix our lives are running the same way at the moment, new place - NO MONEY - haven't had 12 month shots.. pmsl.... we may as well be the same person!! :D
apart from the 2 toddlers and pg thing! Love ya Mel, you make me realise I've got it easy! :o:
we may as well be the same person!!
Hahahahaha!!! Well I'm glad my miserable life can make someone feel better about their own!! PMSL!!!!!!
apart from the 2 toddlers and pg thing! Love ya Mel, you make me realise I've got it easy! :o:
we may as well be the same person!!
Our news....
In summary... N has been sick, sick sick, 2 hospital stays, off for more testing in the morning. She is comando crawling now, albeit it slowly, managed to get her to crawl a little bit on all fours two nights ago, but I expect she will be crawling in the next couple of weeks by herself :D
More teeth coming soon, she has four atm, one has been threatening to break for a few weeks but still sitting tight, her gums seem quite swollen further back so guess more are not far away.
Nakita weaned last week, so we made it to 15 months just... ;)
For the more detailed version, photos and videos see our Blog ;)
For all the news...
:grouphug: for all those moving hope the settling in is over very soon!
:grouphug: for the movers! It is always stressful! If it makes you feel any better I only just got Jett's immunisations done a couple of weeks ago, and I don't have an excuse!!
I'm amazed at these self-weaning babies. No sign of it here.... Beth is still completely booby obsessed.
Well..... I'm next!
Check out my announcement here!
I think this is the reason for the weaning!
:leap: MT :D
Not the reason behind N's weaning ;), I wish she hadn't :(!
Just checking in with my baby buddies - just seeing how's ya's all doin......not chattin thats for sure ;)
i was wondering where this thread was lol.
Yeah we've all dropped off the face of the earth.. or just gotten lives or something.. LOL
I thought it had been deleted
Deleted?!?!? As if they would delete US!!!
We're like - wayyyy to spesh for that :p
:hello:
Nothing much to report around here.... just the usual, :juggle: work, looking after DD etc.
What are all those bubbas up to these days? DD is very talkative and can say lots of words... hello, byebye, tea, toast, shoes, yes please, thanks, read book, and sings songs - favourites are wheels on the bus and row row row your boats. she gives great kisses too a big proper mwaah kiss! We sit her on the potty about twice a day but she has no idea why :shakehead:
how is everyone?
Hehe!! I was looking at this thread the other day, but didn't have time to post..... my life lately!!
So..... how is everyone?
AFM: Looking after the Jett Monster and growing this bub is exhausting me!! Especially as Jett has been teething for the last 4-6 weeks - so far we have 6 teeth through.... 2 left of the 8 I am expecting!! At least i can be pretty sure that he won't be teething by the time this one is born!
We have booked a holiday to Hamilton Island in a couple of weeks....and I have a note from my doctor to allow me as I will be coming back after I am 36 weeks! They probably won't even ask!
Finishing up work at the end of this week, which is good because I have done absolutely no preparation for this baby. I feel so guilty - we don't even have a shortlist of names if it turns out to be a boy, and I think the girls list needs a bit of a rethink too! Any suggestions?
Hey pix
Kelts is pretty talkative, not as much as Aricyn was at the same age, but I think cos I don't have as much time to read to her in the same amount as I did with him. She does know a few words though, hi, byeeeeeee, mummy, daddy, E-en (eden), shoes, juice, milk, bottle - so we are getting there! She probably comes up with a new one every few days I suppose.
I let her walk around naked sometimes when she wants too, but she just pees and says "weeeeeeeeee".. but won't sit on the potty - can't make her do anything this girl cos she just squeals her tonsils out!! Drives me darn batty some days.
MT - can't believe how quickly your pregnancy is going!!! So excited for you :leap: Nearly there!! And you wouldn't want any of MY suggestions for names, I'm sure!! LOL
Grrr I'm so over my dog breaking into the house (she can open the screen door with her paw) she does it squillions of times a day!! And - she just broke in and VOMITED on the rug!!! ARGHHHH!!!! If its not enough that I have to clean up kelti's pee, Eden's puke - now I have DOG PUKE!!!
Suggest away Mel!! I do like your names!
N is very chaty, her list of words is huge :o Getting closer to 50 words...
She is also getting really good at recognising objects etc by name in books, so lots of our reading time is also... where is the tree... where is the bird... and so on and so on.. She loves reading books, playing with random objects around the house and exploring :) Especially the out doors. I think she is going to be a cooking fan too.
She goes on the potty mornings and night and if we remember when we are home on the weekends or Fridays during the day. Most mornings and evenings she wee's and is now saying weeeeee  and occassionally does a poo. It will be a long time before she would be fully TT even if we get the daytime happen all the time, as she still drinks a lot overnight and before bed, so we would have a sopping wet bed. But in no rush, jsut letting her take her time. It was a visit to Pixie's that started it after we went for a swim she wanted to use Beths potty  she did and wee'd
She has been hospital trip free for two months!! :leap: longest stretch since last April Touch wood!!
She's been walking for a couple of months now and getting better, but still regularly loses her balance which I am sure is pretty normal
She loves singing and hum's the alphabet song and twinkle twinkle quite regularly.
She follows directions really well and holding hands when we request, after a couple of months of battling and mini tantrums
Probably much more but can't really think now!
