    Hello all!!

NYE was very quiet here - it was 40 degrees during the day & we had DS sleeping in the kitchen!! Fell asleep at 11:50pm lol.
Am sooo worn out from DS these last few weeks. He is bored on the floor & just wants to be played with. Or just cuddled. If I don't he screams & carrys on - my ears are ringing!! Means not much is getting done around here. Or I'm up til 1am doing things because that's the only time I have
Plus he's teething & is going nuts gumming on anything he can get his hands on
On top of that his sleep has gone backwards. He used to be in bed asleep by 7pm without fail & would sleep until 5amish. Lately it's taken me 2- 3 hours to get him to sleep, he wakes up constantly crying & won't go back to sleep. Or he wakes up several times throughout the night giggling & squealing having a grand old time!! Aaaarrrgh I am seriously at my wits end!!
Oh & he alternates between feeding heaps or plain not interested. AND refuses to sleep when we're out anywhere. We were at a BBQ y'day & he didn't sleep the entire day, just cried & generally unhappy no matter what I did.
Whenever I complain about the last few weeks to anyone they just say "Oh he's just developing" or "Oh he's just finding his voice" I know all this!! It doesn't make it any easier to live through though.
On the flip side DS is giving us alot to laugh at - loves his new Christmas pressies & is starting to take more interest in the world around him.

I'm sorry - that turned into a vent big time!!

Wow. I think I must have the world's best happiest baby ever - this time round. Seriously. Let's hope that doesn't mean he will morph into a terrible toddler, LOL. He is currently on the floor rolling from one end of the loungroom to the other and playing with everything he can reach. He gets up on all fours and rocks backwards and forwards, and it wouldn't surprise me if he started crawling this week - he is already trying, but just falls over when he tries to move his hands. He is so amazing, and so completely different to either of my first two. ALL babies should be as easy and happy as Seb.

Blueplanet - welcome. Look forward to chatting with you. What's your son's name?
Trish - welcome back. Glad you had a nice break. Yay for A rolling! Sounds like she'll be crawling in no time. Can't remember how old L was when he started crawling.
Cheezel - vent away! Just when you think you have it under control they go and start doing something new. The hot weather doesn't help either!
Misty - sure sounds like Seb will be crawling soon. My resolution is also to lose weight. I'm sure a licence will be very handy running around with three kids.
issy - Lochie is a great weight. Great that he puts his own dummy in. We still get up sometimes at night to our DS (2 yo) to locate and put his dummy back in.
ellee - M had a great night last night - 7 hours straight. Mind you she'd hardly slept all day so she was pretty exhausted.
I think it really depends on your situation on the timing of the next bub. There is 21 months between DS and DD. In some respects it is good as there is a bit of a gap between them and they are at different stages and DS requires a lot less attention but in other respects bad because they are both still young, both still in nappies and DS does demand to be entertained etc. Also DS goes to daycare 4 days a week so I don't have to juggle both of them at home alone everyday.
koru - how's Orla's nappy rash? I can imagine with the heat and cloth nappies that it is a recipe for a rash no matter how vigilant you are. Hope you get some solutions.
mad4e - yay for long sleeps. What's your trick?
    Hi to everyone else.

Nothing much happening here. M is gumming heaps and I am tempted to give her a rusk to gnaw on. I also think she's ready for solids but am holding out until she's 6 months. I will probably do vegie purees first and go from there. We started DS at 6 months but it was closer to 7.5 months before he really got into it. Anyone started solids yet?

    Hiya all!
    Welcome Blueplanet !
Misty - Wow what a fantastic surprise at Christmas Sounds like you got a super-chilled baby there too - enjoy! And almost crawling - Orla decided after rolling over 3 times on new years day she wasn't going to bother anymore! On the other hand she can 'sit' unaided leaning forward on her hands for a spell so I guess it's another case of 'horses for courses'
We're clearing up the nappy rash with antifungal cream (so far so good) but it's looking bleak for the microfibre pocket nappies - seem to get a resoundingly bad wrap for nappy rash prone kids (wish I'd known that to start with ) Can't afford to buy a whole new type and loathe to switch to sposies for good (though we've been using so many lately we may as well! grrrrrrr)
Ha! another 'me' post - reckon that should be my new years resolution - MORE PERSIES!!! (a challenge for us self-centred Aries

koru - sorry to hear about the nappy rash hope it gets better soon
misty - my nyr is also to lose weight ( my goal is 10kg but will be happy just to lose 5), me and dp are off to join the gym this arvo while my sis babysits
saffi - we've started solids here as ds was watching, mouthing and would almost cry everytime me or dp would eat infront of him, it has also helped with him sleeping nthrough the night.

ok,ds has been sleeping through the night for almost 2 weeks now its been great
we have been sitting up on our own now and have just started to try and roll, he can get onto his side but falls back onto his back, but he loves being on his tummy whenn we roll him over . xmas was good, ds was really excited to open his prezzies but of course he was way more interested in eating the paper.

thats all i can think of atm so im off

    Hi Everyone,

I know i have dropped off the radar for several months...unfortunately my DP's sister was tragically killed a few months ago and I am only now finally beginning to resume some semblance of a normal life again, not that life will be the same again.

On a positive note, baby Max is fantastic baby, which has been a blessing, people remark that he is one of the happiest babies they have ever encountered, and I know I am very lucky, especially these past few months. He has two teeth now, but has only started to roll back and forth the other day.He says ba ba and da da sounds, and tries to clap his hands together which is so adoreable. He is sleeping pretty well, he has 2 naps a day and sleeps from 8 to 7, give or take.

I won't even attempt to reply to personals as it would take me several hours, lol...I'm glad to see that everyone has had a great xmas and NY. I didn't make it to midnight either, I pretended 11pm was midnight, and went to bed!
Look forward to catching up with you all again!!!

    Welcome Blueplanet!

Misty - that would have been a lovely surprise. I love spending time with the whole family at Christmas. Good luck with your new years resolutions... I could lose some weight but alas I haven't made one.

Koru - glad to hear the nappy rash is subsiding. It can be a right pain can't it. I am selling my stash... not sure what the linings are. I have only listed the smalls and newborns so far but I have mediums and large to list as well. If you are interested let me know and I will send the list through to you.

mad4e - your DS is doing so well!

Cass_Blob - Go Miss E!! DD is the same with her day sleeps

Trish - glad the break was nice.

Cheezel - any teeth broken through yet? Vent away - that is what we are here for.

Issy - hope the move went well. We aren't sure about when we will start considering number 2... we are just playing it all by ear at the moment.

Saffi - we've not started solids, with DD being early I am a bit remiss on how to start... I talked it over with the nurse and I have decided we will try at 6 months and if she isn't interested then we will keep trying. I am planning on doing baby led solids (BLS)

Salboo - I am so sorry to hear of your SILs passing. Wow two teeth11

AFU - we made midnight on NYE and then went to bed about 1am it was nice. I was a bit tired the next day but we didn't have much planned anyway so we just relaxed at home. Christmas was good. DD got SO MUCH stuff, I am still trying to pack it away. DD is going well. She is rolling now and as I mentioned above we are planning to start BLS when she is 6months. I have become involved in my local ABA group and am going to start training as a breastfeeding counsellor as of February '10 and I can't wait! Not much else to report... at last weigh in, DD was 6.5kg... from my arms, I think she may have broken 7kg but will find out next week
