TK - thanks for doing the list. Immi was born on 5 August. Wow, you are doing a great job expressing. I can imagine it would be really exhausting having to express and all the hospital visits. Any idea on when she will be out of NICU and going home? Chow - he was obviously meant to be a Peter. Misty - I wouldn't have thought of Baz as a nickname for Sebastian. How cool! Yay for milk coming in. Cass - you had swine flu??? Wow! Hope you are on the mend now.
AFM - things are plodding along. Mum went home yesterday so now it is just our little family alone. DS is at daycare so we are having a cruisy day so far. Going to go out soon to do some shopping and have some lunch. I'm finding it easier to go out with DD as a newborn rather than an active toddler!
Hey all, hoping to join in here when I can but life is busy with 3 (and 2 under two!!) so I'll do my best to keep up.
Our second son Dean Ryan was born on 3 August and weighed in at 10lb 4oz much to our amazement Labour was horrendous, well not so much the labour but the delivery - DS turned and was posterior and then his shoulders got stuck as he was coming out. My ob did an amazing job to deliver him without forceps, vaccum or stitches for mummy
He spent the first 4 days in special care as we were having trouble stabilising his blood sugar levels, a common problem with big babies apparently. I fought them for 2 days but in the end had to do 24 hours of formula comp feeds which was devastating for me (nothing at all against mums who formula feed but I am passionate about bfeeding and Dean is the first of my children to ever have formula). I expressed my brains out to bring my milk in quickly so managed to do a lot of the comps with EBM instead which was very tiring but totally worth it to limit the formula he had to have.
We've been home over a week now and despite a minor set back where DS had a nose bleed in the middle of the night which required another trip to the paed and vials and vials of blood to be taken we got the all clear last Thursday. He is a pretty settled baby so far which is nice.
Our 20 mo is proving to be a huge handful at the moment though...
Saffi - L is being a total terror, so a bit of naughty behaviour from your L sounds nice! LOL (Saffi and I are baby buddies for our little boys too which is pretty cool )
Best be off, today is my first day home alone and I managed the pre school run OK but want to try and get dinner sorted too before DH gets home, bub has been asleep since lunch time though so will probably wake for a feed soon!

TK - I can't imagine how it feels having to leave your baby in hospital. I'm so glad she is well, you're doing a great job just being there for her.
Cass - lol yes how do we get them to sleep in their own beds? Peter hates his basinette b/w the hours of midnight & 5am. I hate having him in bed but it's the only way anyone is getting any sleep
Misty - hearing you on the minimal sleep, could count on one hand the hours sleep I had in the first few days. Yay for your milk coming in!!
Saffi - hope you had a nice time out shopping with bubs!! Been out a couple of times with Peter - can't believe how long it takes to get out the door. Then of course he poos again lol!!
Willow - sounds like your labour was about as good as mine!! Well done with all the expressing for Dean's feeds.
Have not had one day without visitors yet which is getting tiring but I'm loving showing Peter off. Peter has put on 200 grams since Friday so I'm pretty happy about that today. MCHN coming Wednesday & for some reason I'm abit nervous!!
Willow - you did an amazing job to push Dean out with no assistance. Did you have an epi? L was posterior and only 3000gr and he was vacuumed out so I can only imagine how hard it was to get D out. Good to hear that he is alright now. Cheezel- seemed to spend most of the afternoon in the parent's room. Thank goodness they have tvs in them. Nice to get out tho. WTG Peter on the weight gain. I have to weigh Immi in the next few days too.
Well, I was intending on spending the day downtown with DH and the kids. HHHmmmm... I wasn't counting on my little DD turning into a screaming banshee. We got downtown, DD started winging and screaming and crying and generally acting up. That in turn set off DS#1, who decided to add hitting and hair pulling into the mix - so we turned the car around and drove the 20 mins home again, with Baz being the only child not screaming (somehow he managed to sleep through it). DS#1 had a sleep and woke up happier, DD continued her tantruming from her bed for 1.5 hrs and has only just fallen asleep exhausted. And I am dissapointed that I am once again stuck at home and there isn't even anything to watch on TV. I'll take a newborn over a toddler any day.
Oh and Baz managed to dirty his nappy in such a big way - it leaked all up his back and his front. But that is all right because daddy had to clean him up and bath him, not mum.
Saffi - Yea hun I grew a tail The tamiflu helped. . . and much better now.
Willow - congrats on Dean! WOW!!! Nice size hehe... Glad to hear he is home and well now...
Cheezel - same here, no one would get sleep if Eloise was in her Bassinet. I'm slowly keeping putting her back in there, eventually it will havce to work longer then half and hour lol!
Misty - Hope you get a day out soon! Eloise has had the leaking nappy 5 times in the last 3days!!1 All involving a complete clothes change, Aghhh!!
We went to the midwifes yesterday! Eloise has put on 300grams in a week yay! And is a picture of health She is still feeding every 1-2hours during the day, but will go 3-4hours at night time so that is all right.
I best be off, it's almost time to pick up the other kids from school and Eloise is starting to stir so beeter feed her before we go...
Saffi - how did Immi go with her weigh? Good on you for getting out & about. We've managed a couple of trips to the shops but they've both been fairly quick - no feeding or changing!!
Misty - sorry to hear your day out with DH & the kids didn't work out.
Cass - yay to Eloise for her weight gain, well done!!
Peter was weighed by the MCHN & has put on weight but I can't find where she wrote it!! He actually slept for 5 hours last night - hopefully he repeats that for us tonight. I was so shocked when he finally woke me up for a feed. Had him in the big bath with me last night. Was so much fun!!
Well I havent posted in here for a few days and I now have a spare moment too!
Daniel has been good, a bit constipated lately because we changed formulas. He just has his good and bad days. Have to try and get him into the doctors this week as the hospital didnt do his check up thing.
He also had his first trip to the beach today, although he was in his pram it still counts
