Hi all,

Misty, sometimes I get a little full if Xave hasn't fed for a while. sometimes i actually express before going to bed so I don't get bad overnight, but I'm having to do that less and less. I always put whatever I express in the freezer as for example I'm getting my hair cut this sat so I've defrosted some for tomorrow morning, and we have a few weddings and other functions coming up and I'd much rather he went to bed than came out with us.

Alison, believe me I try very very hard to stretch him out. It is taking all my energy at the moment. His main problem he is soo sleepy because he won't sleep during the day he falls asleep while feeding. On the other token I really don't want to jeopardise his night time sleeping by forcing changes on him.

Rhi, Great to hear milla is doing well. Is she breast or formula fed, maybe that has something to do with the poo's. Try the next size up nappy, it might help with the exploding out. I've found that huggies sized crawlers fit Xavier fine, I just have to do them up well.

Sonia, first things first don't stress, because if there is a problem it might make it worse. Your MCHN can help you by checking Willa and making sure there isn't something else wrong. The first thing you need to worry about is are you getting plenty of dirty and wet nappies, that will indicate to you if she's getting enough. Your MCHN can also weigh her and make sure it's not going down.
Because you were sick your body would have been compensating and using all it's energy to fix you, esp if you were dehydrated. So first drink lots of water. I would check with the ABA but would increasing your calorie intake for a couple of days help? Apparently activite is good for increasing supply. Don't forget formula feeding is completely different to breast feeding and she may not be hungry when your offering the bottle. Just 5 mins ago I had Xavier screaming at me, and he wouldn't take boob, he just kept screaming so I offered him the other side, and no probs.
Sometimes he gets EBM, In regards to how much he gets, well he changes his mind every time. If i'm not going to be around I leave in excess of 200ml, because he has drunk 200ml+ in one sitting before, and then sometimes he will only have 100ml. Sometimes I wish I had built in measuring gages on my boobs, so I could tell how much he had drunk. Sorry I can't help much on the amounts, but please don't stress it will only make it worse.

She will most likely take the bottle better from someone else too, because she can smell you and why would she want that when she can smell that mums got the goods.
