Ali - gosh $150 a month on nappies. I didn't think to add it up. Someday all seem to be doing is nappy changing. The squirty poos are the worse. You hear all this noise and u think its gonna be some nasty puddle but when the nappy comes off, its just a smear.

Yet to trade my 3 newborn boxes for some larger nappies. Sigh. I'm going to ring Coles today to see if they will swap for me. Willa is wearing 6 to 11kg nappies now which are roomy, we use BabyLove and Huggies tho i find BabyLove bigger.

Kim - I still have my flabby lower tum too! I'm surprised I'm not more upset abt it but i've been told that depending on the person, that loose skin will never go back to normal without surgery. Flab u can work off but my stretched out skin is apparently here to stay Did anyone else get stretchmarks??? I've got heaps and after 10 weeks they are only now just starting to fade to lighter colour.

It must be the weather because i noticed Willa had a rash on her girly bits as I was bathing her yesterday. I'll give her more air time ala Hayden.

    Oh and product review time!
The grobag is most excellent. Would be even more excellent if it wasn't so darn hot that Willa can only wear it for half the night. Come any daylight, i take it off her cos she gets sweaty.

Got the inspection postponed coz our notification only arrived yesterday, so she will do it on the 3rd. The pain i got 4 the bathroom is just slightly too dark!!! I'm gonna have 2 scrape sum off n get them to colour match. GRRR. I'm over renting!

nothing in the potty since sunday, but lots of tries and no accidents.

Em has finished the AR tin so we r now mixing her normal formula with food thickener, she seems 2 b ok with it. She had a HUGE poo this morning. all up her back and really gross. had 2 change her completely and will give full bath tonight. did a top n tail wash this morning. Her poo has changed from the toothpaste to now mustardy coloured liquid. eww.

Kim, I have been lucky enough to skip poo's in the bath with both kids, touch wood, and only bath after the daily poos to hopefully avoid an incident. That 1st reaction to a roll is hilarious!

Once this potty training s finished my nappy bill will b halved!!! I am really looking forward to that!!!! today we have had 4 tries so far and eventually we will succeed. still in the same nappy. Gotta get sum pullups soon.

    Hi all,

Sara, DH is always proping Xavier up on the furniture, and in his high chair he sits for a min but gradually slides down. He prefers to sit on my knee with me holding his torso. He's a little TV addict and he can see the telly much better from that posi. I noticed xavier was garbing at his pram toy today and he wacks this ring style toy like it's a speed ball. I was at the shops the other day and he was hungry, so here I am trying to feed him while he sticky beaks all over the place, 'cause there were people walking around. he wanted to look at them all.

alison, thanks I'll try that. My niece only worked out how to roll about 2 months ago. she just turned 1. wasn't a developmental problem or anything, she just didn't want to.

Sonia, we had a really good start at tummy time, and we got a little slack, and now he hates it with a passion. My bottle warmer wasn't cheap it was around the $70 mark, but I say worth every penny. I got the avent one because I've got everything else avent, and figured it would be worth it because I plan on having a couple more kidlets, and the warmer should be one thing that lasts the distance. I did see a philips brand one at big w, but you should be able to get other ones as well, just make sure it fits a range of sizes. The best part about the avent one is because it wide you canheat baby food home made or store bought in it.

Huggies are definetly the tightest nappies

Kim, with sleeping i have insisted on not being super quite around him, so I guess he just thinks it's normal with the toys, this has only just started in the last week, and he is slowly getting better. I kinda tickled his hand with a small toy and he grabed it. Now he has started hitting some plastic rings and plastic keys, but I have to hold them in the right spot for him.

    Stretchmarks
It sounds like I might give you all a run for your money. I call mine tiger stripes, they are still a lovley purple colour on my flabby saggy tummy. I've been doing some walking and think that my bum is benefiting but my tummy isn't so I'm starting to feel a lil top heavy and frumpy. But I figure that I'll just try to loose the weight and worry about the skin later. Maybe after the last baby I can get plastic surgery

My stretch mark go 2 inches above my belly button, into my pubic hair, all the way around to my hips. most of the damage was from sarah, but emma extended a few. it feels like running my hand along a corrugated fence, but softer. one day ill post a piccie.

    Hello everyone,

Sorry I have not been around for the past 2 and a half weeks...things have been a bit tough!!

2 weeks ago Cameron was not feeding, not sleeping and crying all the time. I called out a lactation consultant who diagnosed oral thrush. I felt really bad because he had it very bad and I never realised. Anyway we treated him and he is now over that episode.
I ended up not coping really well, and by the end of the week was a complete emotional wreck.

Last week we went on a much needed holiday to Port Douglas and had a fantastic time. I even managed to get over my feeding in public issues, and was pleasantly suprised with what we could do with a baby! (tour wise!)

Today Cameron had his immunisations, and we are back to the continual grizzling and crying but hopefully it will ease off soon.

My GP is suspicious that Cam has reflux and she is going to speak to our paediatrician about it.

Finally, he has hit the 8kg mark and we have spent the past 2 days trying to sort out what happens in regards to car seats. We really don't want to be having him forward facing at 2 months old! it is posing a real problem. I have spoken to every organisation and maker of car seats, all passing the buck to the doctors...we are awaiting news from our paediatrician. But at the moment it is looking like having to get one in from overseas if we want to keep him rearwards facing. (he is also almost at the length limit for aussie car seats)

That's about all that has happened so far...now as long as Cam permits, I will spend the evening catching up on all the posts here

Wow corr, that is a bit of a dilemma! Sarah was turned around at four months, 6 kg, 69cm coz she was so long. have u tried offering food thickener as a gel? Karicare have 1 that works like that, u give them the gel then feed off the bb. it can also b added 2 formula so that is what we use. We all need to have a good cry occasionally to get some of the stress of having broken sleep out of our systems. sounds like u deserve a good massage! The grizzling post immunisations is thankfully short term. I hope u r feeling a bit better and not stressing too much.

Well we had no wees or poos on the potty today but plenty of tries. tomorrow will b better.

    Hey girls!
I was in here yesterday to post, but Jensen got upset - like he always does - and I wasn't able to post anything. Last Tuesday, I was told that Jensen may not be gaining enough weight. We go back to be re-checked tomorrow. I'm not worried, he seems happy enough and his eyes are bright too. Very vocal. I thought we had the whole colic thing over and done with. Apparently not. Screams for ages. Andrew doesnt like being anywhere near him at that time - probably coz he can't settle him. Pff like I can. Last night, not even a bath settled him. Luckily for the last few evenings we've been over at Andrews parents and his mother is more than eager to take him when he's screaming or crying. Makes me feel bad tho. That I can't control him crying and it makes me look like I can't handle him. He's so needy. I don't know how you girlos cant post here everyday. Every waking moment is spent cuddling him. Don't get me wrong... I love cuddling him. But he whinges when theres nothing wrong and I get nothing done. Even right now I'm pushing thru him throwing himself about, when im typing one handed. My mil gets him to fall asleep during the day for me when were over there. Basically when hes asleep, I just veg and do nothing or read. I'm exhausted all the time.

Tummy time is an issue. He hates it. Screams the instant hes on his tummy. Cant do it after his bath, coz hes fed and wrapped and he falls asleep. He doesnt even try! He'll get a few head lifts in and then just puts his head down and sucks his fist. The physio says heaps of tummy time to correct his flat spot, but all i can think is are you coming over to make sure he does when he screams?

We enjoyed Nixon's (my sisters lil boy) first birthday party on Sunday! Jensen's needles went well on Thurs last week. He was asleep when we started, after each needle hed close his eyes to go back to sleep and fed after the last needle must have hurt more than the others then went back to sleep.

Other that not much is happening here. The house is a shambles. We did however have our first swim yesterday. He hated it. Pity no one was there to take a photo of his first swim, even though he screamed the whole time. Oh well. Have to fake it next time.

Better go, maybe check back in later. Hes crying again

scone, for what its worth, i often wonder how the other ladies find the time to post sometimes too. i think we all have our good and bad days. i'm sorry your colicky days are still persisting here and there but as I am continuously told by ppl - it WILL get better as bub gets older. despite ur stress u sound like ur coping like any of us wld be. I know its easier said than done when u hear someone tell u to forget about the housework for a while (i cant forget it myself!) but a good arvo or good day will come and u'll be able to do some stuff. trust me, thats how i get anything done at my place.

i get really antsy too when i'm at MIL's or relos place and Willa wont settle for me. i keep thinking i must look a bit inept and then i feel like i want to be home doing my own thing with willa. but just remind urself that u are jensen's mum and that despite everything, no one knows him better than u.

ok, back to pushing this pram back and forth - willa's been on the boob all day so am appreciating a bit of time out!

Scone, I only put scone coz i can't b bothered checking the spelling, I have placid kids. Em is usually in my arm and Sarah is wandering around the house entertaining herself. Have u tried the Brauer colic relief? does he spill lots? if he spills loads of milk up, u should get him checked for reflux.

No more potty successes yet but it is only early days.

    HI all

Alison I think your winning on the stretchies, but i hear you on the soft corrugated iron.

Corr, sorry to hear about the thrush. Don't blame yourself I wouldn't have know what to look for either. 8kg's wow. How old is he now? Xavier is 12 weeks and just over 6. Our car seat goes up to 9kg's in the rear facing.

Dee, I haven't seen fran for a little while but you will find her in the july thread. i post in there too, as well as here

kim hang in there, he will extnd his sleep time

zriannon, hang in there. Have you tried laying him on his back and playing. I found this was the only way i would get some peace and it's been working for a few weeks. It has improved his day sleeps too.

    Morning girls,

Rhiannon - Glad to hear that Jensen is going ok. I'm sure his weight issues are nothing serious. Good to hear that the needles went well too. Like Alison said maybe you should give the Brauer's Colic Relief a go. When Colby was showing signs of colic i gave her sips of diluted Gripwater and that brang the wind up really well. Colby wants to be constantly on the boob or held in the afternoons too. I don't know what it is but it is quite frustrating when there are things that need to be done. I know how you feel there. I have bitten the bullet a few times and just given her a dummy. Keeps her quiet until i've eaten and things like that. But i am adament about only giving it to her when there is no other option. Have you tried laying Jensen on his side rather than his tummy??? At least that not on his back. Briley did'nt like tummy time either. One of the ladies in my other Baby Buddies group has a son who had the same problem. I will ask her what she did if you like.

Kim - No its not sad about wanting to meet other people with kids. I have been to a mothers group the last 2 thursdays. Its a good way to get out of the house and chat with other woman in the same situation as you. I have met a mum that is currently pregnant and wants me to be her Doula!!!! Her husband in is the RAAF and might not be here when she has the baby. Plus she has'nt got any family up here. I hope you have a great day!

    Hi to everyone else!

Well we are going swimming soon. Went to the mothers group yesterday and met at a kids pool. I could'nt swim or get into the water cause i had to nurse Colby. Briley would'nt go in the water without me either. So after the group i called my mum and sis to come down to watch the girls while i had a proer swm.....IT WAS BEEEUUUTIFUL!!!! Thats why i am going back today. I have'nt been swimming like that since i was pregnant while Briley. I floated on my back with the water in my ear and my eyes closed. The silence was bliss. I love the sound of water underneath the water!!! IYKWIM. So, if you can't tell....i had a good time!

Colby is good. Still vomiting a fair bit after feeds lately. I might have to take her to the Dr and have her checked for reflux if it keeps up. I know BF babies tend to spew whole lot more than FF bubs.

Well better go and get ready!!! I can't wait!!! Perfect weather too!!!

    Have a great day ladies!!!

    HI all,

I'm back for seconds as xavier decided to have another sleep.

We are now officially at 12 weeks old. Not sure if we had a bad week leading up to it or not, I'm thinking we had that at 11 weeks. He's now a healthy little 6.08kg's (13lb 6oz) a nice long 63 cm and his head is 40.8cm. about another kg and he would have doubled his birth weight. scary huh.
He has been dribbling and chowing down on his fists for feels like weeks and weeks now,

Rhiannon, WOOO HOOO, how much does a good sleep for mum help!! Fingers crossed this is the start of a new trend for you.

Sara good to hear you got some you time. a nice float in a pool sounds like bliss. Good for the psyche me thinks.

Sarah has learned to say 'wee' but i don't think she knows what it means yet. oh well, whenever she says it i run her to the potty so she will get it very soon!

Sarah is asleep and Em is laying in the pram talking to herself. Should get myself some lunch!

Allison, sarah has plenty of time to learn how to use the potty.

to make it fun to use the potty, my sister used to paint my nieces toe nails. kept her on there long enough for a good try. it was funny, to see such a little person with painted nails. I don't think xavier will let me do that

Fingers crossed todays a better day! ATM he's asleep on me. Beautiful! Decided we'd go for a walk yesterday, up the road to see my dad and grandma. It's a 30min walk there... and guess I should have rung first - coz they weren't home! I waited 15mins and walked home again. The walk was really to help my sanity and calm Jensen a bit. It worked. He slept the whole time, right up til we were back in our street! I felt so good! Later tho, he fell asleep during tummy time. He didn't sleep after his bath and cried and cried while we tried to eat dinner. Andrew and I had a bit of an arguement. He left. So I got dressed and took Jensen for a walk round the block. 15mins later he was asleep (shame the walk went for another 15mins! lol) Good bit of exersize and everything is sorted now. I don't feel as exhausted today. Must've been the walking. I will have to persevere with him on the floor at all! lol Just doesn't seem to like it! We have exersizes to do for his neck muscles and plagiocephaly (flat spot) I think he's doing quite well.

Kim Hope you have a great day at the meet-up, sorry I can't make it!

Ali, were were using the Infants Friend, but the circ dr noticed he had bad wind and put us onto Donnalix Drops. Wow! Does it work a treat! Shame it didn't last night. Think he just worked himself up too much.

Oh I'm starting to realise why the mothers who's babies sleep through the night are so happy! For the last couple of nights, he's been sleeping thru! Well, when I say sleeping thru, at least one feed, or none at all! Wednesday night it was 8-3(sleep feed - he cried and I thought he was awake and fed him... maybe he was only a lil awake) then again til 6. And last night omg 8-530 Andrew and I woke up to him crying... to be surprised by the daylight streaming in the window! I was so happy! Fingers crossed its a new thing here to stay!

There's really no whinging in todays post... far too refreshed and content to do that! We're off to the opp shops, the health nurse to check his weight, print some photos and find a present for BIL coz his bday was yesterday!

Hope you all have a great day!
