    Lovely pics Neuri.

    Oh Ali, poor bubby.

Hehe Sara, dont envy u on the hangover.

Rhi, yeah Holly used to be like that, mainly with other ppl, but a short time at day care (2days/wk then 3) from 6mths old fixed that.

Way to go on the long sleeps, yeah Lanah slept her first 12hrs straight bout 2wks ago, bliss havin 2 that do. Ewwwww LOL.

Oh hope u feel better soon Kim.

Sonia & Bec, I used to have lotsa trbl tryin to get Holly to sleep when we were out, lotsa screamin & rocking, a moving car or pram would usually work though, otherwise she was a great bubba. With Lanah I am so plsd that she is even better than Holly was as a baby.

    HI all,

No probs Ali, That's great that you can now focus on sleeping as well. Em is just going from strength to Strength.

Shel, so far I haven't had any probs with Xavier getting cranky while we are out, just no sleeping. the other night when we did go out I swear he screamed from 5-7pm, the party started at 7.30, we got there at 7.45 and the 15min power nap he had in the car on the way meant he was very well behaved. But I guess the people all wearing children's character costumes didn't hurt too.

Tried giving Em some non thickened formula the other day,:ms: projectile after only a couple of mouthfulls! oh well, at least we know to keep giving her the thickener!

Bec, Glad he was ok while u were out! We tend to just make the kids go out in PJs and sleep in the pram or in a spare room. they r used to it now.

    Hi everyone,

We went and saw the padiatrician yesterday, (we got a cancellation appointment) and thankfully he doesn't think that Cameron has reflux (phew!!)
After describing a typical day to him, he thinks the problem is that Cameron is not sleeping enough and I am misinterpreting some of his sleep signals as hunger signals and feeding him instead of sleeping him. He is refluxing milk because he is eating too much rather than having reflux as a condition (made more sense the way he discribed it to me!!)
So I am only to feed him every 3-4 hours, and if he is hungry before then to give him 30mls water. Also have to work on getting him to sleep and persevering with settling techniques. We were given the option to go to sleep school, which we might look at doing next week if we cant get him to sleep more.
We had to take Cameron for a blood test as he just wants to check his weight gains aren't caused by a thyroid problem. I took him last night and they couldn't get any blood from him, so we went back this morning and after 2 attempts in his arms, they ended up getting the blood from a heal *****. It took ages and Cameron screamed the place down...he was less than impressed by the experience!!

Thanks for all the tips on mothers groups...I missed out on the community health groups because I wasn't told about them at my 4 week check up, and only found out about them when it was too late.
Since my last post, our antenatal group has decided to meet up once a week which is really nice!

Sonia Cameron is "Turbo baby" in the bath now too, looks like he might be an olympic swimmer in the making!

Kim It is a shame we don't live a bit closer to each other, because we could form a mothers group together.

Oh...Cameron has just woken up and is hungry will have to try and post again later!!

Those blood tests r horrible! Em had 1 when she was in hossy n was so dehydrated it took ages to get enough blood.

Glad to hear its not reflux, at least u know now. Oh no Corr, Holly had that test done at 4wks old, took them 1.5-2hrs to get enuf blood out, tried several places & ended up doing heal *****s too, yep & screamed place down, it was just horible too. I asked if Lanah would need that test & the paed (diff paed to Holly's) said no they never usually do thryoid tests on babys as they dont generally develop the condition as babys. My hypothyroidism was diagnosed in my 20's after showing some symptoms & a simple blood test (well for an adult it is).

Sonia, PMSL at 'turbo baby' hehe, reminds me of when Holly was, Lanah kicks a little but she is quite long for her bath now, much longer than Holly ever was.

Oh Kim hope Cam isnt getting a cold.

Well started on WW (at home on own) on Mon to try to loose some extra kg's. Our whole mums group (whole family) is going away for 2 nights in 2.5wks time so think ive left it a lil late. Might actually join this wk though to get all the ins & outs (eg: how many vegs/dairy/fat etc). Went from 71kg to 58kg last time (b4 wedding) so hope i can do it again, have added advantage of BF this time though.

    Hi all,

Corr, glad to hear there are no reflux issues. I hope the settling goes well for you.
Is there a reason why you can't joining the next mums group? it doesn't matter that your bubs is a little older. we have ages ranging from 2 months to 4.5 months in mine. Ouchy at the taking blood. it doesn't seem fair to do that to a little one. Could they not take it from the leg??

Kim, I hope he's not getting a cold. Sounds like he needs lots of cuddles anyway. I hope those two little sleeps lead to a big night time sleep, although you haven't come online to share your elation with a full nights sleep, so I'll cross my fingers you are having a better day today.

Shell, good on you for joining WW. don't forget to make sure you take into account the BF when working out your daily points though. Make sure you eat enough. I'm counting calories, wll kind of, and apparently I need 600 more calories per day than I would if I wasn't BF'ing.
I would love to get down to 58kg's but first goal is 65kg's I'm currently at qbout 67.5

Just thought I would introduce myself.

DS born 15 August 2007. 38 weeks c-section 4.235kg, 51cm. Born perfectly healthy after ultrasounds showed fluid on the kidneys and predicting 10.5lb bub at 40 weeks.

Get night sleeper, terrible day sleeper (only sleeps in our arms).

DS has reflux but it is under control with mediation, which at times makes me feel the world worst mother having to medicate my beautiful baby.

We have set up a bit of a routine.
    Wake 7am feed
play til ~8.30-9, Sleep till 11am (in my arms)
feed 11am, play til 12ish, sleep til 3pm
feed 3pm, play til 4pm, sleep til 7pm
feed 7pm, then bath cuddles and bed.
feed 11pm, and 3am and wake at 7am.

Works quite well we as just figuring out tired signs and sleeping in own cot during day.

I seem previllaged with DH - today is horroble as I woke up with terrible head cold, lucky DS sleep though till 6am skipping 3am feed, and DH has day off so he took DS and looked after him until 11am feed giving me a much needed sleep in. Heading back to bed shortly for a nap (probably with DS).

Like Kirsten I have also just noticed DS only lays head on one side so am asking dr at mondays appointment whether it is muscles or hearing as something else that I could have done.

Nice to hear all your stories.

    welcome Janda!!

I too have a refluxy bub but we just contol with food thickener.

Ur DH sounds a bit like mine with the helpfulness!

I too feel like a horrible mum 4 having to give bub something that u did not intend to give. I wish Em could BF but unfortunately she can't so we have to give her the bottle. There r pics of when she was in hossy 4 faliure to thrive in my page of the gallery.

Note to self, take more photos!

Welcome Janda! Where are you from and what's your lil boys name?
Well my lil man saw the health nurse today. I cant remember his head circumference, but at 11wks, he's now 60.5cm and weighs 5600g.
Our mothers group Melbourne Cup went well.... Jensen won the best dressed!! I must see if I can post a pic of his outfit. I didn't end up buying one... MIL, a friend of hers and I made it! Also, there was a silent auction.... I won a dinosaur for $5!!

My horses didnt win... one was scratched before the race! Must go and get my $ back.

Better go, Jensens just thrown up all over me, and him, and some carpet!
    Hope your all well.

Ali- lol about the private party in the bedrm. Sadly, neither DH nor I can even remember the possible event/s that led to Willa. Either we are getting old or we were partying too much at the time. No partying now of course. 30 mins of alone time at dinner is like a celebration for us already heh.

Interesting story though, if u guys have time to read! I'm tempted to regale you ladies with it seeing as the Mind Body Spirit Expo is back in Sydney this week. Well I attended the November 2006 MBS Expo last year and as a lark, we all booked a 30 mins reading with a psychic. I picked a 'past lives expert' as a hoot but somehow my booking got mixed up and I ended up with a tarot reader instead. Her name was Rebecca Rose (I still remember her delicate whispy voice). Anyway, at the time I was settling nicely into my first real job after finishing uni and never having been very maternal (nor liking kids very much), a baby was the laaaast thing on my mind. So imagine my surprise and skepticism when she just came out and said very bluntly, "you're going to have a baby girl after the middle of next year." And then she said she saw more baby girls in my family as well. I was like, "pffft!" I thought tarot readers were supposed to be more suggestive rather than blatant.

Lo and behold, here I am, exactly one year later with a 3 month old baby girl born in August!! The expo is back this year and am going to see if the lady is still doing readings. I might wave Willa in her face and shriek, "OMG YOU CALLED IT!!" hehehe

Becca- Yup, i wldn't mess with that beaut of a nightsleep if I were u! I get what u mean about not taking Xavier out much. I think sometimes ppl forget what a logistical nightmare it is to travel with a little baby. It takes me ages to get everything packed, baby, DH and myself dressed and wondering if I forgot anything...

Shell - lucky that Lanah is a good traveller. Willa is calm when we're in motion too. I dread red lights! Must be a universal thing for bubs.

Cor - those blood tests sound awful. It must be really difficult getting blood from such tiny veins. Good to know its not likely to be reflux. I wanted to ask: do babies really keep taking feeds even if they're full? Are you bf cameron of giving him formula. I'm doing both currently an am wondering if i'm over feeding sometimes. I'm sure the blood tests results will reveal nothing more than that Cameron is just a big, healthy bub.

    Janda
    - Welcome 10.5lbs would have been an effort! Still a good sized bub though! Our 'routine' is almost exactly yours except Willa's sleep in the morning lasts till noon. When was your DS diagnosed and how was it diagnosed?

Scone - I demand to see pics of Jensen's winning outfit. How cute!

KIm- wow on the rolling!!! Still nothing on my end though plenty of grabbing stuff and mouthing. Her fav thing to mouth now is a soft book.

THat's enough from me. I'm going to go raid the fridge now. Weighed WIillz yesterday and she is now 6.5 kg. SO far so good.

    Hi all,

Janda, I'm glad you decided to join us, welcome. Thee is nothing wrong with a little medication if bubs needs it, don't beat yourself up.

Kim, you might just have to banish your DH I guess it's not as cute as it sounds staying awake to see dad.
Well done on the rolling, Xavier hasn't rolled yet, lifts his bum off the ground sometimes, but we don't get much tummy time here. As cool as it would be to have some rolling, I don't want to rush him either, 'cause it's that one step closer to getting into everything.

Lol Sonia, I wonder if she was really good, or she just picked up on some cues you hadn't noticed yet??
Red lights I have explained to Xave over and over again, mum and dad can't do anything about red lights and he will have to make his complaints to higher authorities.

Well today for us has been pretty good. We are back to about a 10hours sleep at night, waking about 5.30 is standard. I can usually get him back to sleep by around 6am, well today I woke again around 9am!!! and he was still asleep, knowing we both should really get up for routines etc, I went back to bed with the idea that this won't happen very much, but also thinking he would wake up any second. The next thing I knew it was 10am, and I was able to get up go to the loo and then go in to find Xavier having a good old chat to all his friends.
