Hi all, been busy seeting up our family blog, so lately i feel all typed-out if that makes sense. I feel like such a computer geek now(this is usally DH's territory). Oh and my laptop broke down. bummer. Having to use dh's pc right now. I've spent a week uploading hundreds of baby photos for my family (who are in SIngapore and haven't yet met their grandkid) to see. Its the next best thing until they get here.
Ok, so much has been happening here! Teeth and head crawling and ladies back at work...
Becca - Your plan to build your own home and live in it sounds like a dream. *sigh* I'm wondering how DH and I are going to manage a 2nd baby in our tiny apartment. AFter bills n mortgage, we have zero savings left. We cld move further out but I'd have to travel further to get to my city job and that wont suit. I cd try for a better paying job but this one is so flexible and I have the world's best boss so I don't wanna give it up. If I really needed to, I cld even bring Willa in to work with me if it was an emergency.
I can totaly see the childcare being tough at first, but us mummies gotta do what we gotta do. I got our name down for family daycare starting feb, will wait to see what comes up for us as daycare here has waiting list up to 2 years long in some places.
Working and raising kids is 100% doable. I've seen so many mums do it here on BB itself. You did well! And u are so organised, what with the frozen vegies and all. I think on my first day back (when poor Willa was only 13 weeks), I didn't even put out my clothes the night b4. I was late!
Scone - Another gal back at work! Wow about the sort of crawl. That's def. a precursor to real crawling! The bottle holding is great on one had as once he gets good at it, u can actually sit back and relax with him in ur lap while he feeds. On the other hand sometimes u want your little baby back but once they get started feeding themselves, its hard to take the bottle off them! This is happening with Willa. And another wow abt all those teeth...we got nada teeth here. Everyone seems to getting their teeth except us! Willz mouth is still bald as lol.
Ali - 6.79kg?! Awesome. I'm glad to know she's gotten over her roseola.
Campari - Lol about Hayden eating Milla's feet heheh. I love baby feet. I'd eat 'em too if I was allowedI'm so jealous u guys cld meet up! Hope you enjoy your IL free time (in or out of PJs :P) b4 they get back from NZ.
Kim - the staring at us eating thing was what eventually made me try solids as well well. THat look of supreme interest...it was, well a covetous look! Willa is super active but she's not doing the legs under her bum thing very well, they're still sort of to the side of her bum, but I hear you abt them feeling frustration when all that effort doesnt get rewarded with some baby locomotion.
Sara - hehe if I do write anything, u guys can be the first to sample it. How does Colby go sleeping on her tummy? Was this something she'd always do or is it something recent? Some occasions Willa tosses and turns in her cot n seems like she'd like to sleep either side or front but I have no idea how to sleep her that way, if that makes sense. When she tries on her side, I try and make a bolster out of her blanket and tuck that between her legs
sorry if i missed anyone out, i'm expecting DH to walk thru the door n e minute now with dinner. Willa's moving around heaps, sitting up some, and on 2 solids meals a day. I grate bellamys organic dried apple into her farex for late brekky and then in the arvo she gets a rusk and some more grated apple. I'm trying to stick with the one food at a time rule, but I swear this kids wants to eat everything in sight. She's nearly chewed off the eyes on her Gary The Snail toy (from Spongebob). She grabbed mango off my plate, squished some in her fist and then licked her hand for 10 mins lol. Is mango a riskier food to give cos I know anything that's a bit sappy can be?
We had our first swim on sunday afternoon. It went very well. Willa wore some elastic swimpants and a swim hat. There was another cute little baby with her proud parents taking a dip as well tho this kid was much more well protected sunwise. The whole thing lasted abt 10 mins as were worried about sun burn. Much to DH's delight (he doesn't tan, he just burns), she went a slight olive colour almost immediately. It was bizarre, its like the asian in here just jumped right out heheh. Good old melanin!
on the sleeping front, well I am ridiculously happy to report we are now sleeping through the night! She gets up around 7am for a bottle, goes back down sometimes right after. Wakes again at abt 9, plays, has solids brekky at 10 followed by second bottle, then 2 more sleeps until she goes down for the night at 7pm. Wakes around 10.30pm for last bottle of the day. This has made her a very happy, giggly and overall just lovely baby to be around. Now I actually get bored when she's asleep in the daytime and want to wake her to play hahah.
OMG when it happened the first night I assumed it was another fluke, but its been happening for 5 nights now. Hello unbroken sleep, oh how I missed you! But i know how fragile sleep routines can be who knows when she starts getting teeth (as Jensen seems to be doing now!), we might go back to fussy nights.
alright, dh at the door, its fine dining tonight courtesy of maccas.
gtg! take care ladies
