Miri is sleeping in the ergo. Gave it a whirl today and I think she's just big enough :) It's hot, though... she seems to like it better than teh HAB.
I actually cleaned my house today. Applause please, I need the positive reinforcement... (ok, I admit, I only cleaned bits of it....)
Hope you all have a lovely weekend
All that food sounds fab Kaz, hope the party goes well
-
hey
Kaz - You would beable to do it no problems. I remember a friend saying to me you might have twins I said NOWAY one baby is enough work can you imagine 2, than a week later whoo hoo it's twins. She couldn't stop laughing, I couldn't stop crying.
MadB - You :ninja: for cleaning well done ( while looking at my house shaking my head) I need a kick up th ##!# to clean my house.
Night all
Cathie
-
oh your friend is MEAN!
I've heard it said that it gets easier after number 3... That right?
-
MADB - Thanks. It's good to know that someone else has experienced it. How long did it go on for with your DS? Eden's doesn't normally wake during the night that's why I can't understand how he's not hungry in the morning. I normally wake him up around 6am and his last feed is around 8pm the night before. I'm guessing he's gaining weight cause he looks very healthy. I had him weighed on Tuesday & he's only 6.1kg as opposed to DS1 who was 7.1kgs at the same age (corrected). I fed him laying down a couple of times yesterday, in his bedroom and that seemed to help. But it's too hard to do that with DS1 running around. I'll feel much better once I have him weighed again this Tuesday and see that he has put on enough weight. On another note.... I will be doing BLS with Eden too. I also did it with DS1 and we just loved it. It was so much easier than pureeing and one thing I loved most is that I didn't need to sit there and spoon feed him. I could eat at the same time or do stuff in the kitchen while he was in his chair. I am a little excited about starting solids for that reason, but I'm definately not planning to start until Eden is ready that's for sure. Oh, and Eden is ALWAYS slurping on his fists too
PP - Hmmm, interesting. Does she finish all of her bottles?
CATHIE & KAZ - Yay for the giggles. So cute
-
Georgi - Sorry to hear about the illnesses in your house! I hope you manage to skip out on it this time!! Has Eden been feeding better? Unfortunately I have no wisdom there...
PP - I hope you had a better nights sleep last night!! There's nothing worse than seeing them asleep and not being able to sleep yourself, you know you're missing out on precious time!!! :) I have to admit, these MCN's have me a little intrigued...
Kaz - I'm going to have to buy a teething ring too, I think something is going on in there. Gosh, do we really have to deal with teeth already?! Hope you're having a nice time, how did the party go? Your experience in the loo's cracked me up...LOL instant mum of five
Cathie - awww, how cute!!
MadB - Well done on the housework!! It sucks sooooo bad I know, but you feel better once it's done :) Glad Miri is enjoying the ergo.
We're doing good here, Jacob is having a really good morning sleep, that'd be right...the one day I actually want to go out up town!! hehe. I'm off this morning to look at walkers :o This child just wants to go go go....I won't put him in it till he's four months but that's just around the corner!! he's waking yay!! gotta go. xoxo
-
Georgi, it last about a month. Basically it stopped when I got him weighed and realised that he must be ok afteral (I didn't believe my eyes :duh:) - I think the minute I relaxed it was ok. He still had to feed in a quiet darkened room during the day for a long time, but there was no more refusal.
Remember that weight gains slow down a lot after 3 months too, so even small increases are just fine. You'll know if there's really anything wrong with his growth, so just watch him.
DD is a lot bigger than DS was at this age too, though she was a smaller at birth :)
It's always the way Jules
-
JULES - Lol, that's always the way hey. DS1 is a culprit of that. The times I really need him to sleep are the times he doesn't
MADB - I had him weighed last tues & i'll go tomorrow. His feeding was ok yesterday though he woke at 3.30am for a feed so I know he wasn't getting enough during the day. He had a great feed before bed though so I thought he would've got through the night. I have been feeding laying down, it's certainly helped. He's gone from 40min feeds to only 10 or 20. I know they get faster so I'm happy about that. I've expressed this morning so I'll give him his 7.30 feed from the bottle and see how that goes. It's been nearly two weeks since he had a bottle so I hope he'll take it.
Well we are officially done with having children....... I've sold my beautiful King Parrot bassinette...... I sold it on ebay for a great price. So that's it for us.
It seems that Eden is finally getting use to the pram. He was never good on outings. Yesterday he slept in the pram for two hours while we had lunch at a restuarant with friends. I hope he keeps that up. I'm taking DS1 to dancing (like a disco, they dance to high 5 & wiggles moves) this morning so it will be fun to see if he sleeps again. Hope so
-
Hello :hello:
madB- Yeah it does get easier after 3. We have been talking about having one more.
Georgi - I hope your little man has a wonderful time dancing
Jules - Charlie is rolling everywhere the older kids think it's fantastic. I got one of the twins chairs out last night it's a safety first chair and ti's real deep, he loved it. So he sat up on the bench last night and watched me cook dinner.
Charlie boy is getting tooo big for his hammock :crying: I just love the hammock it swings when he moves and rocks him back to sleep. So it looks like he will have to start going in the cot :crying: I wish I brought one for the twins, I was pulling my hair out with them.
Have a great day ladies we are having a PJ day an movie day. Shhhh don't tell hubby

Hi all!
Ooh Kaz, that sounds like some yummy baking :) LOL at the loo incident - Mum's best friend had a boy my sister's age and twins a little older than me. Liz had just sat down with a twin on either boob, and Andy stripped off, opened the front door and streaked down the road. Mum, heavily pregnant with me, wrangled my sister and a squirmy, nekkid Andy back down to Liz's place... Thank God it was a quiet country town in the late 70's! That story got told at poor Andy's birthday parties, wedding etc :)
HUGE round of applause for you MadB  I am the world's worst housekeeper so don't feel bad! DH puts up with me because when I get the domestic urge, I cook. Roast chicken & veg and apple sponge pudding for dinner last night :)
Georgi, Millie doesn't finish all her bottles. We increased the amount the other night as she's 4 months now and she surprised me by finishing a couple... It doesn't bother me too much anymore, it was worrying me when she'd leave a bit in the bottom of the bottle but she's such a healthy looking little munchkin... and my appetite varies depending on time of day, weather etc so it's unrealistic to expect her to eat exactly the same amount each time. I'll get her weighed and measured tomorrow with her vaccs. Glad things are settling down with Eden, and hope you all had fun at the disco!
Cathie, awesome, love jammie days :) Hee hee, what's one more kid? I can see the attraction of a big family, DH's family is just awesome. People keep asking me how many we're having, I figure we'll keep going til we stop!
Jules, glad Jacob woke up for you - they always seem to know when you want to get out and deliberately sleep in!
We're doing fine. DH and I went to a wedding on Saturday afternoon/evening. We left Millie with my sister, who had been dying to look after her. I would have taken her but DH was a groomsman so we couldn't just up and leave if Millie cracked it. It was nice to get out with DH (although we didn't get to sit together!!) but I felt like I was missing a limb. Got home to a sleeping little angel baby... she's such a good girl and I love, love LOVE being a mummy. She wasn't such an angel at swimming this morning, but we can't have it all :)
:crossfingers: for her vaccinations tomorrow. Poor little chook :(
Take care all!

Hi all
Things going pretty well here just don't get a lot of me time.
Cathie another one do you think?? It sounds wonderful, i wish we could keep going too but in our situation i think three is enough. Your life would be filled with soooooo much love. I love the beautiful feeling each individual brings to the family and what i get to feel with them one on one. Amazing.
PP we have some outings coming up where DH and i have the opportunity to go to without kids. But for us without kids generally means the boys but we take Harper. Hope you guys had a great night.
Jules how's the reflux going? Harper seems to be ok i think (knock on wood) she's been on this dose for about 3 weeks now so i wonder if there will be another set back or if we're growing out of it. I've been eating lots of chocolate and she seems to be ok. We getting close to our easter holiday which i'm so nervous about as Harper just isn't a happy traveller. I'll have to get some tips from you.
MadB good on you for attempting a clean. How's little Miri? Well i hope.
Kaz i hope you are enjoying your time away. How was the car trip for you guys?
Georgi, Harper isn't a fan of the pram either only on one or two occasions has she actually slept in it while at the shops. I just use the hugabub for her. I can face her out ways and she's happy little vegimite. The last couple of times she's even fallen asleep in it and i've had to have my arm there for her to rest her little head. How's the feeding? Harper is such a fussy feeder during the day, has bare minimum of a feed but feeds much fuller of an evening. If she refuses i don't push it. Hope you are reasured with the weight gain :)
Well ladies i better go get my boys. I have to wake Harper up, she's been in bed since 1:30pm but we were out all morning. I picked up her hand and feet impressions today. They are just gorgeous and so little.
HOpe you're all well xo
-
EJ - Oh those hand impressions are so cute. Is Harper sleeping throught the night? That's the biggest problem, is that if he doesn't feed well through out the day, he wakes during the night for a feed then I can't get back to sleep
PP - Yeah we had a better time at dancing. The first time he went he would only dance if I danced with him. But he was much better yesterday. Good luck with the vaccs today
CATHIE - The PJ's and movie sounds great. It's awsome that you can do that. I just can't seem to find the time at the moment
Well Eden's feeds were kinda ok yesterday. His afternoon feed was quite poor. He slept till 4.50am which isn't too bad. But he just had a quick feed (5mins) and went straight back to sleep. I can't complain about his sleeping that's for sure. He ended up sleeping in the pram yesterday for 45mins, which is the whole time the dancing is on anyway so that was good. I'm gonna get him weighed this afternoon. I'm sure he's put on weight so it'll be good to confirm that.
-
Hope all goes well with the weigh Georgi, i'm sure it will. The dancing sounds great, it'll build confidence for Byron and it sounds like it's working with him not needing you so much this time. We do Mini Meastros and it's great for that kind of thing, even last year Aidan would still insist that i did some of the dancing and singing with him. This year as they are all pretty much 4yr olds the parents are sitting in a different room and it's just them and their teacher which has worked really well also.
Harper is still waking for night feeds, she generally has her last feed between 7 & 8pm then again at about 12 or 1am and then again at about 6:30-7:30am. I'm not complaining right now it's all just a quick feed and stright back to sleep (maybe not the 6ish one). I'll give it a few more months to see if she starts sleeping through any more than that. Aidan i think slept through from about 5ish months but he was a bigger baby and fed so he was a lot fuller, Charlie i let go till about 8 months and then decided to try settle without a feed, it worked but we went backwards again and i was still night feeding him occasionally when i was pregnant with Harper. At 14 months i said That's it!!!!! For me though i don't really have any trouble getting back to sleep so i just do it.
Well i'm off to tidy up a bit. Have a great day ladies :)
-
EJ - Have you tried giving Harper a feed at 10.00pm.
-
Cathie i have a couple of times and sometimes she'll take it and sometimes not. It depends on how much she feeds prior to bed, she's got a bit of a weird routine where she has her pj's and massage, goes to bed for 40min then wakes again for one more feed then she's in bed for the night. I will try the roll over feed a little more though :)
-
Hi all!
EJ, I still get up to Millie around 4am or thereabouts. There was only that one night last week when I couldn't get back to sleep. I have tried a couple of times to feed her at 10 like Cathie does but a) she takes so little at 10 that she wakes again anyway and b) I've come to the conclusion that it's not a problem for me. I can go to bed early if I need to and get a good chunk of sleep, whereas I'm usually really knackered of an evening and want to be in bed by 10.
Georgi I'm glad DS1 enjoyed the disco :)
Millie had her vaccinations today, no apparent ill effects but she is pretty cranky about it. She now weighs in at 6.5kg (with a romper and nappy on), and is 62.5cm long!
Hope you're all well!

Hey girls
No personals from me tonight sorry, I'll try get back on tomorrow to catch up with you all.
Warning - major selfish vent ahead...
Jacob is only having three small sleeps a day now, he's tired enough for more but refuses to sleep no matter what I try so I've given up, he just sleeps when he's ready. But the worst thing is that he isn't the easiest to settle at night... everything had been fine before we went away and while we were away but since we got home things have been so difficult. Sunday afternoon when we got home he just cried and cried and cried (sooooo unlike him). We ended up bathing him and then I fed him to sleep - I had no other options.. then yesterday he was crying once again, he keeps trying to stick his finger into his gums and his cheeks are bright red, so I wonder if something might be happening with his teeth....? I am just feeling so lousy at the fact that I don't know what's wrong. Early this morning and late this afternoon he's had problems with his reflux so I am exhausted. Getting him to sleep tonight was so difficult, he put up such a fight. *sigh* I'm feeling so overwhelmed. I spent the few precious moments of his sleep today cleaning the house top to bottom and I'm exhausted. Sorry for rambling...I might come back tomorrow and see if I make more sense! Hope you and your bubs are all well xox
-
Jules, it might just be the age he's at. It sucks doesn't it?
DD's having tiny little sleeps during the day and at least 4-5 wakeups at night. Sometiems she goes down easily at bedtime at least... sometimes.
If feeding him or carrying him in a sling or whatever works, just go back to that and get some rest. It's ony worse the more overtired they get. DD is doing most of her day sleeping in the ergo at the moment. I get 40 minutes if I'm really lucky! :)
It might be teething, you'll just have to wait and see. DON'T do the housework in your precious down time. Wait till he's settled a bit more again
Well, as I mentioned DD still wakes lots :)
I night weaned DS at 14 months, but we still had to feed him in the night (1-2 bananas) till 18 months! Sigh.
Hope things went ok today Georgi
-
well today was a bloomin' hot day. very humid and hot - spent the day wrapped around will in my parents' aircon thinking of ahurani.
jules - good luck, i hope you get some rest.
other news - someone crashed their car into my garden and took out at least one of my roses, and a concrete laundry trough i'd planted with miniature roses. i'm in brissie and not due back until late next week. however, i'm getting lots of rest with my parents helping with will & pip, today i did play with pip a bit, he pee'd his pants so i gave him a bath in the laundry tub and he was happy to just play in the water for a good half hour. nice and cool.
all the best ladies, dream pretty and hold your little ones close.
