Still battling along here.... Last night i ended up putting some cream on my bb's and covering what i could with maloline. It's not the best option because it makes Harper's attachment difficult but i'm desperate. From some info i've gotten from BB and my gut i really don't think it's thrush that i have but getting a freaking dr to tell me what the problem is is near impossible. They just keep treating it as thrush and the anti fungle cream is NO GOOD for the area it makes it so sore and red and irritated even more than it is. I'm getting so so very close to breaking point with it all. I am more so leaning towards a really bad cases of dermatitis or skin irritation in that way that it's really hard to care for because of the area and the moistness from feeding. The only unexplainable thing is why it's on my bb's??? Anyway...

All these sick bubbas i hope that clears up very soon. Aidan and Charlie have runny noses but that is all it is and Harper Barper is fine..... knock on wood...

PP when Charlie boy got bronchiolitis i was told that he may be more susceptable (sp??) to asthma at a later stage (they don't diagnose Asthma until after 12months is what i was told also) but Charlie boy has never really had an issue since.... I too suffer from Asthma but a very light case if any.

The wedding was beautiful and they had a great day considering the days before and after it. The kids were a little challenging which i expected but once the music was on they were dancing up and storm and loved dancing with their mumma. I don't know who was more in their element??!! Harper was gorgeous, just slept or happily had hugs with family and friends.

Better go get organised we're off to lunch with SIL's and cousins. Most importantly hugs with my 5 week old niece

    Talk soon lovely ladies

I dont' get deliveries because they ALWAYS miss things out and they're ALWAYS the things I really really want! useless. Maybe that's just my bad luck

DD has cut her first tooth, 2nd one on the way. I'm hoping I'll actualy ge a bit of sleep after that

question - does paper count as soilds? Miri loves it, apparently.

EJ - you really need to see someone who can sort that out for you! IT's dreadful.

It is dreadful MadB. I got an appt with a female dr for thurs night. I will be asking for a referral. It will be the 6th appt... Who knows how much money i've spent on appt's and medications that clearly aren't even treating the right thing.

Charlotte - I hope Hannah is feeling better soon, snot is the worst!! We use the snot sucker here too, but if he puts up a fight (it freaks him out sometimes) I just get DH to take him in the shower and the steam softens it and it comes straight out. Wow, Hannah rolled?! That's awesome! She's doing so well, what a strong little girl.

PP - Poor Miss Millie I hope she feels better really soon. It must be so hard for you to see her like that, poor mumma. That's great your DH could stay home and give you a hand! How did the appointment go? Hahaha, yeah my little monkey is on a mission, nothing can hold him back. He's not much of a cuddly baby, he'll snuggle in for a few minutes then realise he's getting sleepy and quickly start moving again, he's so funny. Good luck with the packing...packing aside, you must be getting sooooo excited!!

Georgi - Yay for a tooth!! They seem to be popping up everywhere!!

MadB - How exciting, a tooth your way too! We're yet to see one but I don't think it's far away...

Crumpet - Welcome back. That's great you had a nice time away, sounded lovely. Way to go Summah!! It's so exciting when they start rolling isn't it?? Haha, how funny is the everything in the mouth...Jacob gets obsessed with getting ANYTHING he can in his mouth. I'm so jealous you can get groceries delivered. I have to drive an hour to buy mine!!!!!!! No deliveries here, and no way I can just 'pop' down the shops and get supplies.

Kaz - That's great that Wills nose cleared up but not good on the cough I hope it passes really soon, it's the weather for it isn't it...

Hello Cathie - how is Charlie boy? and the other kids? Hope you're all doing well

EJ - gosh, you poor thing I wish someone had some magic potion to sort you right out... If you don't get results from the gp I'd go see a skin specialist, it sounds like a dermatitis? I just had a thought....have you started using a different washing powder? I know it sounds really dumb and obvious but I had a rash thing once and all I could put it down to was a new softener I was using and when I stopped it went away... just a thought. The wedding sounded lovely! What wonderful children I hope you had a nice time today with your niece, I love newborn cuddles!! I'm going to be an aunty again at the end of June...so excited!!!

We're doing good here, finally settling in and catching up slowly. Jacob is so much fun and such a happy little boy. I'm starting to work out a day time routine to make things a little easier to plan. I have been giving him the banana rafferty's cereal in the morning and he seems to love it, opens his mouth really wide and tries to spoon it in himself we make a mess but we have a blast. He had some zucchini this afternoon and he seemed to really enjoy that too! His night sleeps are getting better and better (fingers crossed) so here's hoping a full nights sleep is just around the corner...!!

Hope you're all doing well. xo

    Hi all,

Jules, glad things are good up your way

MadB, I used to eat paper and wiping Millie's nose today she stuck her tongue out and swiped a bit of the tissue. Tried to fish it out but she swallowed it. She's eating so little at the moment (bottle and solids) that I figure it can't hurt

EJ I'm hoping for some answers for you SOON. Glad Charlie has not had any more breathing issues.

Cathie, Crumpet and Charlotte, I haven't used eukybear rub. Must try it out. I have been using vicks baby balsam on Millie.

Kaz, hoping Will's cough goes away without issue

Georgi, good to know the necklace can still be effective without it being on overnight!

As for us, the paed was very lovely and so reassuring. She confirmed bronchiolitis but is not concerned about Millie taking so little at her feeds as she does still have wet and yucky nappies, and from her examination she thinks she is past the worst. God, I hope so. last night was awful, she went from playing happily to coughing and crying hysterically in 2 seconds flat. It was almost physically painful to see her so distressed. Managed to calm her down and get some ventolin into her - thankfully all the tricks Mum used with me work with her too. I slept in her room last night which was good, I was reassured to hear her breathing and was quick to calm her when she started coughing so it didn't escalate. She's a lot better this evening so

Had a message from a friend today. She's pregnant I'm the only person she's telling other than family til 12 weeks so I can't even tell DH... just had to share though. So glad you guys are good secret keepers LOL.

I am trying to write an expression of interest for the relieving HT job (part time) that was sort of created for me (politics - it's a paid position so has to go to EOI). So disinterested but I said a couple of months ago that I'd be interested so I am trying to cobble together an EOI. Blah. At this point am hoping someone else is a better candidate.

Hope you and yours are doing well.

Jules i have been racking my brain trying to think of some kind of trigger for this and i for the life of me can't. Washing powder hasn't been changed since late last year, i did choose a different shower gel to what i normally was using and when things started happening i quickly changed and went and bought a $20 one from the chemist (but i have always chosen soap free). If it was this but it was too late and the irritation had already set in i'm not sure but the ways we're treating it so far don't seem to be working. The other really horrible thought was could something possibly be living in our bed?? I shudder at the thought but if that was the case i think DH would be effected in some way also. I just don't know....

Along side all of this i have had an itch all over my body, arms. legs, torso & scalp and just last night i thought about the asthma medication i've recently been put on. It could be a long shot but it's worth ruling it out. That and the sore bb are two sepreate things i think but both driving me absolutely crazy.

Well Harper Barper slept midnight - 6:30am this morning!! That's a fantastic sleep for her and not sure if she's done it before or will do it again any time soon but it was nice. You wake up wondering if there was a feed you did but can't remember LOL.

Other than my issues all is good here, Harper is loving her food and really such a happy little vegimite.

I really hope we hear that the little ones are better soon. It's the onset of this horribly cold weather i think.

PP i really hope Millie is better soon. The poor thing, what you describe sounds terrible for both bub and parents. I hope she clears up really soon xo

Not much going on today, need to get some groceries and Aidan has kinder this afternoon.

    Have a great day xoxo

but this week i forgot some stuff so had to do a quick trip to the shops today, was so much easier.
im going to costco to buy all my cleaning stuff in bulk and nappies as well, so it will only bit bits and bobs ill need delivered now.

yay for a tooth!! hope miri settles down for some decent sleep now!

Crumpet - Welcome back. That's great you had a nice time away, sounded lovely. Way to go Summah!! It's so exciting when they start rolling isn't it?? oh no!! that sux, i love the delivery groceries. i had them delivered when preg so it was one thing DH could cross of the list to worry about, and i started going again but im thinking ill stick to delivery again now!

jacob sounds like he is LOVING solids! summah has bellamys porrige and raffertys blueberries/apple/banana for breaky and then i make her veg for dinner and fruit for after if she is still hungry.

Wow, lots has been happening with you guys!! I just haven't had a spare minute to sit and post.
Not much has been happening with us here. Hannah is nearly better. She's not sleeping alot today, but she seems happy enough. Maybe I'm too used to at least 8 hours of sleep a day. We probably got about 4 today, so its all good.

She hadn't eaten any solids for a few days, we didn't want to push her as she was sooo sick.
Yesterday I gave her some yogurt (just plain vanilla) and I put the first mouthful in her mouth and she broke into a massive smile and laughed and started kicking her legs around. I'd never seen her so excited!!!
I've tried giving her some sweet potato but she spews as soon as she tastes it. Tried it a few times now. What do you think it is? She just doesn't like it? Her favourite is broccoli.

Hannah is teething like mad. Its driving me insane. The tooth is just below the surface and her gum is so swollen. And she's turned into the dribble monster.
I wondered why her bibs were getting so incredibly wet, until I looked down and saw that she actually chews on it. Thats all fine with me, if she wants to chew on it. No dramas.
I would have thought that it was too early for teeth for Hannah. She'll be 6mos next week, but corrected age she's only 4 months.
This morning I was playing with her and she had my hand and shoved a finger in her mouth. I'd not long washed my hands so I knew they were clean and she had a massive chomp on them. I tok my finger out and she screamed!! Shoved it back in and she was happy. Out? She screamed. I tried giving her a toy to chew on but she still doesn't have enough coordination to put things in her mouth without alot of work.

I gave her a rusk today but its as big as her mouth!! She's only tiny!! She was happy just sitting and licking it tho.

EJ- I hope you feel better soon. How horrible!! My c/s scar is so incredibly itchy (I have a skin condition where I take ages to heal. My c/s looks like it was only done a few weeks ago. My appendix scar took 5 years to look like it should have looked after one year). It drives me mad, the only thing that helps is Bio Oil.
I can't imagine what it must be like for you. I hope it clears up. It sounds pretty nasty!

Bahaha, I wish I could get groceries delivered. That would be soooo awesome!! But, living so rural, its not a possibility. Besides, from my back deck I can see the supermarket. hehe. We try not to shop there, as its not a great variety and it can be up to 3 dollars more PER ITEM than travelling to the bigger town which is 120kms away. You can easily get twice as much stuff in town for your money than you can here.

Oh, and I'm sooo happy!!! We're getting married in September (hmmm, must actually organise something...maybe my dress...suits.... just little things like that, lol), and we were so worried about DPs parents seeing each other (they haven't spoken in 6 years and hate each other), but DPs sister got engaged and the engagement party is early July!! MIL and FIL (plus their partners) will be there. It'll be a like test run for our wedding. To see if they can get along. Haha, I'm just so happy.
I just hope they don't fight over Hannah. MIL hasn't seen Hannah since Feb (long story that makes my blood boil. Everytime we arrange to see her, she cancels and then complains about never seeing Hannah) and FIL came a few weeks ago. We've seen him few times.
Do you think this is wrong?? -- There's going to be a hell of alot of family at SIL's party. About 50 of them, plus about 50 friends. We've (mostly me) decided that we're not going to let very many people hold Hannah. People just assume they can hold her and it gives me the *****s. Its alot of people and alot of germs. There's going to be people that have to hold her, like MIL, FIL, and DP's grandfather especially. Last time we saw his grandfather he was too sick to hold her and ended up getting rushed to hospital and was gutted that he didn't get a cuddle. He has just finished a massive massive round of Chemo and Radiation for his lung cancer and was extremely sick.
We want to get a photo of Hannah and him as he may not be around much longer.
Anyway, the orginal question was -- Do you think that its wrong of us to not let Hannah be 'pass the parcel'? How do we let people know this without sound b!tchy? Cause people will get offended.

I know I've forgotten to mention something..... When does baby brain end?? I WANT MY BRAIN BACK!!

Big hugs to all you lovely ladies and your beautiful bubbas.

CHarlotte, I don't think that's wrong at all. Babies are human beings, not parcels that's good news about the trial run with the in-laws!
I can't believe you get 8 hours sleep during the day!!! I'm lucky to get 2

It does usually take them a while to get used to new flavours and textures, so just keep offering.

Glad Jacob is settling down so well for you Jules!

Hope Millie is doing better, poor love. How'd the job application go?

I'm finally cutting into my special minky PUL I bought ages ago. Making my pretty nappies now I've found a style that suits Miri. Actually glad Iddin't use it earlier as I've had to make bigger ones already. Got her weighed today - 67cm and 7.65kg. She's nearly 5.5 months now. Such a lovely chunky little lady. At least all that night feeding isn't for nothing On the plus side, today and yesterday she has actually had a longer sleep in the middle of the day - around 1.5 hours! That won't impress you probably charlotte

    *sneaking in again sporadically*

charlotte - absolutely nothing wrong with not handing her around. She is not a toy! We got into a massive fight with the ILs about this, but stood our ground. It really upsets our little girl to be handled by a lot of people, and I won't do it to her. I'm particularly finnicketty about smokers. No thanks.

MadB - I am jealous of the 1.5 hour stretch! I got 1 hour 10 minutes today, and that was after I went in there, twice! But... we have pretty much dropped night feeds. Most nights we're going 7:30-5:00 with no feeds, sometimes a little wake up at 2am, but we can verbally re-settle her now, and I don't even have to get out of bed, which is nice in the winter.

We're on solids here - DD tried some cauliflower soup today, after nomming right into a bit of cardboard that I gave her (anything for 5 minutes peace) she looked really hungry, and I had no finger foods available (call me Mother Hubbard) so I gave her some cold leftover soup off a spoon, and she thought it was fabulous. She has conjunctivitis, and I think there's a cold on the way too, so whingey mc whinger at the moment.

EJ - we're off to our first wedding tomorrow. Even with the sickies. Sounds like you guys had fun. Kinda excited about dressing her up I have a dress I've been saving, but it's a 00, and not sure if it will still fit! Fingers crossed.

PP - Sounds like you guys have had a rough trot. Hope Millie gets better real quick.

    Hi Charlotte

Do you by any chance have a baby carrier, a sling or ergo or other carrier (not bjorn)? Reason being that you can just wear her (the bjorn doens't cover their head like other carriers can) and really *choose* who to let her out to!

MadB- hope you enjoy your sewing!

    Audax - yummmm, cauliflower soup!!!

Baby brain ... I still have mine too

Ummmm we also have bronchiolitis here, spent last night at first the after-hours GP nd then the ED (referred there) where they were measuring O2 levels. Doc suggest we *try* ventalin, it may work, it may not. Other than that, just waiting / watching.

hope everyone has a great weekend.

Goodness it sounds ike bronchiolitis is really making its rounds with the little ones this winter. Go away germs!!!

Charlotte Hannah sounds so precious and she definately knows what she wants and when she wants it. Hope that tooth pokes through soon and gives her some relief. It's not wrong at all about being hesitant to have Hannah passed around. I too was going to mention a sling. Let her have her cuddles to keep everyone happy then put her in a carrier and hopefully she'll fall asleep and everyone can admire her peacefully sleeping on your chest.

Sounds like Miri is growing beautifuly MadB, it's great seeing the rolls on little ones I'm not sure if it's just me and my Harper but do you notice the differences in body shape already between girl and boy? I really do with Harper compared to my boys (as babies) around the hip and butt area.

Audax hope DD fits into her dress I had Harper in leggings, top and a gorgeous little woolen cardigen as the wedding was up in the mountains and i knew it'd be a bit chilly. Enjoy the wedding

Hope Will gets better really quickly Kaz and that the ventolin is helping.

Well i went to the drs again tonight (6th time now) and she's written a referral for me and said to see if i can get in tomorrow by some chance. She's given me till next week and if i can't get in before then i have to call the dr's and the nurse will try for me. The rash and itch has taken over the skin irritation on my bb for the moment. I am literally covered in spots and itching from head to toe now and going crazy. As well as that i am now suspecting that i may have a bit of thrush Probably from all the antibiotics and creams. My nipples are feeling a little *****ly. I have the medication here so i'm just going to take it and hope it helps. I'm so over myself right now

i havnt tried yoghurt on S yet, did Hannah like it?

we give S rusks she loves them, her co-ordination isnt great though!

$3 more per item far out!

and no way is it wrong to not play pass the parcel with hannah! we have this issue EVERY sunday night when we go to MIL's for dinner. summah has never been handled a lot, i was terrified id have a baby that relied on being held so we didnt hold her a lot.
so she is very happy to sit in her chair or play on the floor, etc....
sundays MIL wants to hold her like a newborn, then passes her round to SIL who then gives her to BIL who then hands her back because he knows we dont like it.
so now i refuse to hand S over until after dinner and after about 5 mins with MIL, DH takes her back for a break and then SIL will get a quick cuddle, but S generally screams because they get right in her face and talk in a stupidly high pitched voice!
but becasue BIL passes round S's cousin we look like the bad ones, care factor of 0 there coz it comes down to, my kid my choice!

AFU: all going well here, miss summah is a pleasure as usual.
god she loves her food, its unreal how she knows when it comes now and what u do with it! im about to start giving her a piece of banana, steamed carrot sticks etc for her to play around with to see how she goes, she will be fine it will be me having the coronary!

Crumpet -- Yeah, she loved yogurt!! Maybe because its so smooth and easy.

Bahahaha, there's no way Hannah would fall asleep with people around. She won't even drink her bottle if DP is talking to me. Its quite annoying, she just gets so distracted.
Good idea, tho. I wish I could have used a carrier. Me and Han will probably only stay at the party for 2 hours, then go back to our motel room. DP can stay at the party to spend more time with his family. He doesn't see them much.

Geez, EJ. I hope you get some relief. It sounds horrible whatever it iis.

Hannah was moved into her cot last night. She actually loves it. There's no sooking when she goes to bed, made sure that I made the bed all SIDS safe. She looks so cute in her cot. She looks so tiny, tho.
Hannah is basically back to normal. She was sooo hyper today tho. She always is when DP is home!! Then she's a rat for me when he's working! Its so nice to have him home for a few days. He generally works 10 days on (7.30am to 5pm) and then 4 days off. I love the 4 days, but I miss him horribly when he goes back to work.

Hannah had 2 big (well, normal lol) sleeps today of 2 1/2 hours. Then she went to bed at 6.30. She's just been such an angel today. A hyper angel.....
I can't believe on Friday she'll be 6 months old!! It seems like we've been home for ages, but I remember every single day of the Royal Children's Hospital and Bendigo Special Care like it was yesterday. I remember the smell of the hospital, the 'germ-gel' that we had to put on our hands a hundred times a day. I remember the smell of our room in Ronald Mac House. Where everything in the kitchen was in Ronald Mac lol, being in the Royal Women's and getting DP to push me down to the Children's 4 times (2 blocks) in a wheelchair. Aparently it was so hard (I'm only 63kg!!) that he had to get his cousin to push me partway back.

    Ahhh, memories....

Charlotte gorgeous memories I have memories of that 'germ gel' also... Glad Hannah likes her cot but no more kicking the walls???? That was so cute.

It's great when they love their food Crumpet, i can't get over Harper's perfect chewing motion already. They are just too perfect aren't they!?

Well it's been a crazy few days... It wasn't easy but i got into the specialist on Friday and it turns out i've been going crazy over eczema!!! Kind of fits doesn't it considering how itchy i was but why didn't the drs get that???? I didn't myself either though, it's not like your dry scaly patches of skin eczema it's like spots all over your body and then the bb area is kind of different again, that was the most severe area. I asked why this would have been and he wasn't too sure, all he could think of was that maybe it's due to feeding DD and wear on the strenght of the skin... Kind of makes sense as it was majority in the lower area where DD's chin would rest while feeding. I'm just so relived to have an answer to what it is and to be able to start fixing it. I'm having baths every night this week and then smothering myself in a cortisone cream, it's the better alternative for Harper so hopefuly that works. So far the spots are fading but i'm still pretty itchy. The bb is getting there but i'm expecting that to take a bit as it's a whole lot worse. So the type of eczema i have is something that you should only get once so i really hope that is the case.

So that was all good... Then Saturday we had a few dramas, Charlie boy squashed his finger in a keyboard stand. It was so out of shape when i got to him, it slowly got it's shape back and then went really fat He's ok though... Harper woke up with a slight barky cough that day but was fine, she fed, slept and was her happy little self. I was going to take her to the drs but they had no appts and honestly she was fine so i never thought again about taking her to the medicentre at the hospital. She went to bed then at 11:30pm she woke up crying coughing (or should i say barking) and gasping for air. I knew i had to get her to the dr and i couldn't just wait till morning but in the state she was i didn't want to drive with her by myself if she was going to cry in the car and get distressed and struggle to breath. So i called an ambulance. It was a split second decision that i just knew was the right one considering the options. She was ok when she was calm (although wheezing) and in my arms but if she started to work herself up it would get pretty nasty. So her and i went off to emercency for a few hours. They say it's croup and after a rest and some prediscilone (sp??) we got home about 4am i think. She's ok, slept and ate today, i've put the vapouriser in her room tonight to keep the air a little more moist and if i have to she can just sleep with us again. She is a lot better, she has to have one more dose of prediscilone tomorrow and then just get better on her own.

My life is usually so boring and lately it's been a little crazy. I'm looking forward to everything going back to normal

Hope all our little 6 month olds get better quickly xoxo

EJ - I hope the Dr can figure out what the rash is. Big hugs from me I can just imagine how much it would hurt.

Well started Charlie boy on Pear and Banana rice cereal last week and he loves it, so will give it again all this week than I'll introduce some dinner. He still has a cough and a runny nose. Well we ALL have runny noses. Hope all the little bubbas feel better soon. It's cold tonight.
