MAn! How often are these growth spurts? Abby ate 5 oz abd then wanted 1 more, and then just 2 hours later was hungry AGAIN! Its crazy! So she took about 4 oz that time. I thought that would put her to sleep for sure but she is still up playing. She hasnt slept since 11:00am and it is 3:20. I am so busy trying to get ready for Don's parents, but it is really hard while she is awake and hungry all the time! Oh no, shes fussing! I hope it is a tired fuss and she will go back to sleep! ;)
-
Hi guys, sounds like Beck and Kate had good nights! Excellent!! We had a pretty good one here too. got Coco to sleep at 7.40pm and she woke at 11.50 or something, next thing I know it was 1am (I did get up and settle a few times in between though) so I fed and she went back down by 2am and slept in her cot until 6.45am!! VERY exciting that she slept until then. But the PAIN of not feeding often was huge!!! Such a relief when i got to feed her!! I will be so happy if she continues to only wake once andthen sleep through. I have been very strict about 7pm feed then bed, so she really knows it's bedtime and not nap time!! I think once daylight savings ends it will be great as it will be really dark then, and easier to sleep... I hope!!
Kate, good that you have had a midwife come over, even if you don't use all of what she says, it's good to have it as back up!! But if Jasmine's sleeping so long I guess it's best to leave well alone!
Gotta run, want to watch medium while she has her nap! I record EVERYTHING now!! xoxo
-
Sarajo, have fun with the inlaws, and I hope Abby sleeps for you
!! xoxoxo
-
Thats wonderful Meg!
Abby finally went to sleep! It is 5:15 here, so she had been up for over 6 hours straight. A lot of crying! Sigh, Im worn out! She ate again at 4:00, took another 3 oz. I think she must be so tired now, I think she will sleep for a good 3 hours...we'll see!
Hope you all have great days! O:)
-
Good Afternoon!!!
Sarajo, I know what you mean by being totally worn out by the constant crying, the other night Colin had a meeting and he didn’t get home until just after 10pm and my little girl just cried from about 5.15pm until 10.00 and I just walked the streets for about 1.5 hours just because I just couldn’t settle her and I felt like the walls were caving in on me!! I really shouldn’t complain, the really is the first time I have felt like I couldn’t cope. I hope Abby slept well and you also got some sleep!!!
Meg, Hey sounds like Coco is starting to settle and sleep well for you! Praying for you that it continues!!! I also do the same thing once Hannah starts showing sins of tiredness WRAP AND THEN BED!!! I have been doing this for weeks and I think it was once of best bits of advice I have been given!! It is hard to do all the time because life goes on and we have stuff to do that takes us away from the house (THANKGOD!!!) I hear you about the boobs!!!! I feed Hannah roughly every three hours during the day and then it bath and then bed and that first sleep can last from 4.5- 8hours and my boobs are just rock hard, the first time she slept 8 hours I had to get up and express.
Beck I hear you about the dentist. I went last Thursday and I had to have a filling. My dentist told me there was a possibility that bubs could be unsettled and may not feed well due to the release of stress hormones. Hannah feed ok but was a little unsettled. Just thought I would tell you just I case Maddy is unsettled for you and your dentist do not mention it. Yay on having a better night! Hope it continues!
Kate Sounds like Jasmine had a good night!! I am going to get one of those gro bags. How coll that they came out to your house!! Even if you only use a couple of their ideas then that’s a bonus.
I am really doing really well and I am just loving motherhood, I have my days where I feel like I am a little isolated but that is my own fault, Now that I am happy express and Hannah has had her first bottle I am happy to leave her even its just for a couple of hours.
Mel I hope you and Logan are both feeling better! I hope you are feeling better emotionally then you were the other day. Xxxx
Well Hannah’s check up went well she is now just over 6 kilos and 56.7cm in length and she is nice and strong. She has her shots on Tuesday and then mothers group starts on Wednesday afternoon
Talk soon

I had to give back the rental car this morning and pick up my crappy car :( so sad about it that Im thinking I might buy a new car this weekend. So Im excited about that. I think I need one with more headroom, because I find it difficult to get Jasmine in and out of the car seat without bumping my head LOL!
Beck my teeth are exactly the same. I had a dentist appointment yesterday but I cancelled it because Jasmine was still asleep and I didnt want to wake her.... well maybe I didnt want to go to the dentist too lol but its getting to the point where cold drinks are hurting my teeth so I really have to go. Pregnancy really did my teeth no favours.
Sarajo I hope you have a good time with the inlaws there. Im sure once they get there Abby will go right to sleep and be a perfect little angel the whole time lol. As for the growth spurts I hear you lol I have no idea when they start or stop. Jasmine seems to have just gotten out of hers.
Meg way to go on the night sleep. Ouch @ the pain from not feeding. I forgot about daylight savings woo hoo I hope its not far away! One thing the midwife said Im not sure about. Jasmines cradle is one of those ones that rock... and she said I should sit there and rock her for 40mins each time she goes to bed until she gets used to it, even if she is asleep. I dont think she understood me or maybe believed me that when Jasmine goes to sleep, she doesnt wake up until she is ready. She never stirs so I think 40mins is excessive, but maybe when she is crying it might be different I dont know. Anyway I read Pinky McKays Peace Baby book and I just loved it, I think I can find a medium and I feel prepared for the next time now. Thanks for your help too :flower:
Rach I feel the same about the walls closing in! I just wish it would cool down a bit here so I could take Jasmine for a walk in the pram. I havent even had a chance to use it, because she just doesnt like being in it, but Im sure if I was walking outside she would love it. I love the grobags, especially because of the temperature control. They look so comfortable, too bad they dont make them in adult sizes LOL. Im glad to hear you are doing so well and enjoying motherhood! You sound like you have got it all under control and are a great mum. Well done! Good Luck with mothers group.. I am yet to get there but am hoping this coming Monday I can make an appearance.
Ohhh its so hot here I cant be anywhere else except under the a/c. Where oh where is winter and when is it going to get here!!!!
-
Kate I hear you, I am SO over summer. I am hanging to be able to put a jumper on!! I wouldn't worry too much about the rocking, I'd say what she is saying is for babies that have trouble settling. When I was rocking Coco they told me to rock for 40 minutes as it gets them over the 30 minute REM sleep and into deep sleep, so she must've meant that not realising Jasmine isa GOOD sleeper!
Rach, glad you're enjoying motherhood so much!! I am loving having a newborn again, and doing all the things with her that I did with Tilly. I really loved things like mothers group, gymbaroo, music class etc, and will be doing as many baby activities as possible with Coco. It's such a great way to meet other mums too.
I've already clicked with a few mums at mothers group which is exciting, MUCH better than my experience with tilly's group!!
Coco had her first ever long daytime sleep this morning, nearly 3 hours!!!!!!!! She's had a half hour one since and is now having another nap. So exciting, although I wont be home every day to do that. Of course I didn't have a sleep as it was from 8.30 am, about the only time I do feel slightly human!!
hope everyone's having a good day, think Im going to get the air con going, it's abit hot in here! ox

:( Not a happy Becka....turns out my wisdom tooth was basically all rotted so I had it pulled. It was breaking apart as he was twisting it, trying to get it loose. Wasn't bad until 1:3pm when the anaesthetic wore off and it felt like someone had bashed my jaw in with a metal baseball bat. Lets just say I was bawling my eyes out at Mum's and she had to drive up to the chemist to get me some Panadeine. It's still a dull ache but that was not fun. I have to go back in two weeks to have a proper check-up done...fillings I can handle but if they want to pull any more teeth...well I'd rather they rot and fall out of my mouth. Anyway, I can hardly open my mouth let alone eat...guess it's a crash/soft food diet for me over the next few days!
Leanne said to say 'hi'; she's hoping to catch up at the Brisbane BB catch-up next Friday. She misses everyone and she has a delightful sleeper in little Drew. Apparently sleep is his new hobby...I asked her if she wants to swap! hehehe Oh well, she deserves it after I heard all of her labour story!
-
Gosh, that's right, we havent' even heard Leanne's birth story. I miss her on here, please say hi if you see her at the meet up.
Beck, BUMMER about your tooth, I soo hope you're feeling better soon. At least once it is all healed you don't have to worry about it ever again!!
I went to the dentist when Coco was 6 weeks. All was ok thank goodness, but I had root canal a few years ago (fault of dentist, they coated my back tooth but obviously didn't clean it properly and it rotted over 15 years....). Anyway the last dentist did a dodgy job and he said I either need a cap thing on it ($3000) or to have it pulled. I was happy to have it pulled, but am having 2nd thoughts after your day Beck!!
better run, missy is getting grizzly. I just need her to hold off until 7pm. I feed her then in front fo the biggest loser!! Love it!! xoxo
-
Well Maddy did indeed feed off my stress from having to see the dentist. She went to bed at 10:30pm and slept til 1:30am. Then it was party-time...I got an hour sleep between 6:30am and 7:30am but that's all. She's still wide-awake and I feel dead on my feet. Missy is in her pram playing with her toys...she's worked out how to grab the little circles attached to the Tigger etc toys.
I can't believe she managed to stay awake from 1:30am until 6:30am. She had a few cat naps on my chest but whenever I shifted to get more comfortable or tried to put her in the bassinet...well, she was having no bar of it!
Hopefully she'll want to sleep tonight. My mouth is still very tender this morning...not so much the wound but my actual jaw bone all the way down to my gland in my throat. Lovely stuff. I'm just praying I don't get an infection because otherwise it'll be back there on Monday morning to get it cleaned out.
Meg - Leanne said she really misses this place....I'll have a chat to her when *fingers crossed* I see her next Friday. Maybe there is something my DH can do for them to help set them up with a computer.
-
Beck you poor thing, hope Maddy sleeps well tonight and that your mouth feels better ASAP!!
We had a good night again thank goodness. She slept 8pm until 2am and then until 6.30.
I started a dance class today. It's called Bollywood and is like you see in the bollywood movies, but also very much like jazz. i went with mum. im going to go each week adn also do a class on mondays which is commercial jazz!! It's like the dancing Kylie, Madonna do etc. I love it!! GREAT exercise too! Tilly is going to start kids Bollywood next week!!!
better go and feed my little miss. Tim has had her and he gave her a good sleep in the car!!
xoxo

Hi Everyone Hope you are all doing well.
Funniest thing happened this morning... Jasmine has discovered the TV over the past 2 weeks, (I always have it on even just for noise) and this morning it was so funny because I had it on Fox 8 where they run The Simpsons for like 3 hours straight and she was just staring at the TV but I noticed when it would cut to an ad or an episode would end, she would get very antsy... So I changed the channel and she started to cry LOL Then when I moved her to feed her, she kept turning her head just to stare at it, but would cry everytime she couldnt see it. It was so funny! I hope that I dont have one of those "TV kids" lol and I think she just likes it for the colours and movement, but it cracked me up :cryinglaugh:
Meg Im so glad Coco is sleeping so much better for you now. I hope she keeps it up and it only gets better. YAY on the Bollywood dancing. That would be so much fun!
Beck ouch you poor thing. Sounds like an ordeal! I hope Maddy sleeps for you tonight and you got to catch up on some sleep today. Please say Hello to Leanne for me. I really miss her around here too and hope she can get hooked up and back on soon.
Melly, Christie, Sarajo Rach & Tiggy I hope you are all doing well too.
Its stinking hot here, were having an awful day. Seriously considering taking Jasmine in the pool, but Im a bit scared by myself (getting out and in might be a bit difficult) and no one is home today! Its my cousins engagement party so all my family is at that. I didnt go because its all the way up in Newcastle or somewhere around there, and Im so glad I didnt. I would have died from the heat I think! Oh well really only 10 more days of summer. [-o<
-
Guess what guys?? Maddy was having a big hysterical cry this morning in Daddy's arms while I was doing the salt water mouth rinse. Then clear as a bell she cries out a perfectly crisp 'Mumma!'. It was that clear and precise that I came out of the bathroom and DH's jaw was practically on the floor and he says 'Did you hear that?!' before I could say anything. She was reaching for me as soon as she saw me too.
Flabbergasted, she is 8wks old today!!
-
OMG Beck!! You have a baby einstein on your hands  ;)
-
OMG Beck. How smart of Maddy. I have thought I've heard Logan say "OK" and it almost sounded like he said "Hello" the other day, but I figured it was just a coincidence or something. Maybe I just don't give him enough credit LOL
Kate, Logan is obsessed with the TV, I think it's just the lights and movement. If I feed him while I'm watching TV he'll sometimes fall off the breast because he's trying to watch TV. When I sit him up to burp him he holds his head up on his own most of the time so he can turn it to look at the TV. Mum jokes that he has square eyes he gets so focused on it.
Last night Logan slept from 7:30pm until 2:45am! It was good, but It felt very strange to have him sleep for so long LOL I hope he does it again soon.
I am feeling better since Thursday. Still a little sick, but I am getting a support network set up again and have appointments for psychiatrists and counsellors. DF and I had a talk about things that were bothering us and how I have been getting upset by the things he says or does. Mum & DF also had a talk about me today, and DF hasn't had a go at me yet so it musn't have upset him too much.
-
That's good that you're feeling better Melly!
Seriously ladies, I am SO p*ssed with DH. Last night Maddy would NOT go to bed, all she wanted to do was feed, no matter how much I'd already fed her. She'd fall asleep feeding and the moment I moved her to put her down for bed she'd wake up and cry.
I hadn't slept since 1:30am yesterday because Maddy had decided she didn't really need sleep. At 10:00pm last night I took her out into the loungeroom in her pram where DH was watching TV. I asked him if he could rock his daughter in her pram for a little while because she wouldn't sleep and I was exhausted. He IGNORED me. I stood there just looking at him while she whinged and he said nothing.
Finally, I picked her up out of the pram, changed her nappy and brought her into bed with me and let her feed again. He came in 1/2hr later, pushing the pram in front of him and said nothing again. I was SO p*ssed with him. He didn't even say goodnight...he just got into bed, turned his back to me and went to sleep.
Needless to say, you can imagine I wasn't impressed when Maddy woke up at 2:30am this morning and wouldn't sleep again. Do you think he got up once and took her off me? Nope. He just pretended he was still asleep. Glad he got his 8hrs sleep both nights because I haven't.
Oh my god, I just want to belt him up. :( Sorry about the rant...I am just so irate that he cares so little about how I feel, especially when my mouth still hurts to high hell from having that tooth pulled.
-
Oh beck you poor thing. Men can be so inconsiderate and just plain SELFISH. It's as though when they're tired and exhausted from this baby thing, they just decide stuff everyone else, they DESERVE a break. Meanwhile, we havent' had a break since the birth (or pregnancy really)!! I just think men are so much more selfish. I soo hope you get some sleep soon. Are the inlaws around? Can someone mind her today while you have a nap?
Coco slept great from 8pm-1.30am but after I fed her she just moved and made noise the whole night. It's sooo hard not having her own room as it really does keep us awake. Im going crazy sharing a room with her! So much for all our friends that said "think of the Asian countries where 3 generations live in 2 bedrooms", well they're either REALLY deep sleepers, or REALLY overtired people!!!
Kate, very cute about Jasmine and the Simpsons!! And Beck, what a baby brain you've got there!! Actually I might buy Coco a baby brain video and stick her in front of the TV!!! We're getting soo many smiles and gurgles, I just love it so much!!
have a good one everyone! And bring on autumn and some cooler weather!! xo
-
OH BECK, My heart is with you love. I don’t blame you for being ****ed off!! Talk to hubby and find out why the hell he wouldn’t help. You really need to tell me exactly how you feel and that he needs to be more supportive at all times. It’s not a part time job.
PRAYING YOU GET SOME SLEEP!!!!!
Gotta run Hannah is ready for a feed
:hugs: :hugs:
-
Beck, Rach is right, find out what the prob is. He's got to realise all that you're doing, and that it's taking it's toll on you too. Can you come up with some kind of strategy like Tim and I have. He has Coco on weekends and I sleep in another room and come in for feeds, then during the week, Tim can sleep in another room so he's not disturbed.
Also have you tried other ways of settling so you're not up really late and really stressed? It's a hard stage, but it will pass and you will sleep again (i have to hold on to this thought too!!!).
-
Hey guys, theres' a hug abub page on this website, and my picture is in it!! Just found it!! https://www.bellybelly.com.au/hug-a-bub I feel very special!!!!
I just read Laura's birth story, have a read everyone, it's very well written and very emotional. Poor Laura had the opposite birth that she wanted.
talk soon xo
-
:hugs: Beck! Omg! What a ****ty thing for your DH to do. Completely unacceptable, and I dont blame you for being upset or angry. I would have tipped a bucket of freezing cold water over him and told him to get the hell up and help. Bloody hell. I want to say so much more but I will keep my mouth shut, but I hope you have talked about it. There is no excuse he could come up with that makes what he did ok, and I hope he is very sorry and spends the next few months making up for it! :hugs: Try to get some rest today. I will be sending up sleep vibes to Maddy! How cute that she said Mama and reached out for you! Ive been putting all the 'words' Jasmine has been saying down to just her making noises, and not realising what she is saying. I think I should pay that more attention lol
Meg YAY I love that picture of you and Coco! Congratulations. I read Laura's birth story. It was very well written wasnt it, it brought me to tears. Im glad the ending had a happy result. As for the bedrooms, I think the people who have to cram their whole families in are overtired lol
Melly its funny watching them watch the TV isnt it? Logan sounds the same as Jasmine! Im sure its the colours and movement, especially with the Simpsons, all those Primary Colours and that. Im glad you are getting set up with your support network where you are. Im sure once you have found all the necessary people and are comfortable with them then you will feel alot better. Good on you for doing that.
I took Jasmine in the pool today, she loves the splashing of the water. She was kicking her legs and making her own splashes and laughing her head off. She looked so cute. I will have to put some photos up of her in her little swimming costume. Soooo cute!
-
Omg Im so excited. Last night most of my family got together for an engagement party and one of my Aunties that I never ever see (actually my uncles ex wife who is the mother of my cousin who got engaged) works for Funtastic as a rep or something lol Im not sure what she does...anyway she gave me a huge box about the same size as ME of stuff as a present for Jasmine, and you should see how much stuff is in there. Ive been going through it all afternoon. Funtastic do the whole Tomy, Disney baby, Safety 1st and The First Years brands! Ive got everything from nightlights, mobiles, to bedrails and toys for when Jasmine is older, omg thats not even a quarter of everything she has given me, I cant explain it!!! AND she gave me the catologue and told me that anything else I want, she can get 70% off!!
Im kind of spewing I didnt know before I had Jasmine and pretty much bought everything, now I have more than 2 of everything I already had LOL but still I can always buy lots more things as she is getting older. YAY for me. How good do I have it? My mums best friend works at Kimberly Clark so I get nappies and wipes and all that stuff practically for nothing, and now all of this!
:cheer: YAY for me and double YAY for Jasmine :confetti:
-
Kate that's AWESOME!!! How exciting!! Yey for you both!!
Gotta run, it's CSI tonight, we've been waiting for this ep for months!!!
good sleep vibes to all xoxoxo
-
 How good was CSI Meg?? Ive been hanging out for it to come back too, I couldnt believe they left us like that season lol! Omg I dont think I have ever been like that over TV before lol. It was so intense, probably one of the best shows I have ever seen on TV. I had to get up and walk out of the room a couple of times just to catch my breath and by the end I was crying like a baby LOL I was sitting there sweating like nothing on earth, didnt even realise I had accidently turned off the a/c! Loved it!!!!!
-
Morning ladies!! Had a much better night of sleep - 5.5hrs from 10pm-3.30am; 4am-6am. DH apologised for the night before...his reasons weren't really acceptable (he was exhausted. Really? *sarcastic expression*) but he knows I'll rip him a new one if he pulls that again, especially a weekend like he did this time!
Maddy is not going to love her Mummy much this morning...we're off for our 8-week injections!!
-
Kate, CSI was SO good!! It was a really great episode!!
Beck, YAY for the better sleep, very happy for you!! HOpe she keeps it up! Good luck with the injections today, I gave Coco panadol half an hour before going, seemed to keep her happy for the whole day.
I did the most STUPID thing last night, still can't believe it. We have an angel care monitor that has an alarm if they stop breathing. ANyway, DH and I ALWAYS forget to turn it off when we get her out of the bed. So last night I must have dreamt that it went off, and I DIVED out of bed and (we worked out if you bump the cot the alarm stops) I bump the cot BIG time with my hip, and just as im doing it I realise Coco is fast asleep IN the cot.11.30pm and I have woken her up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lay there for the next half hour (whilst resettling her) just totally angry at myself (I was also laughing a bit as it was absolutely ridiculous)!!Anyway, she slept until 2am and then again from 3-7am, so it was still good.
gotta run, have a good day xoxo
-
Back from the drs. Maddy has grown 4cms & put on 400grams in 2 1/2 weeks! :) She's 5.1kgs now! Very proud of my little cherub, especially now that it's completely off my breast-milk and she won't take comp/FF feeds anymore.
Maddy cried her little eyes out when the needles went in (cant believe they need three needles - it's barbaric!) and by the 2nd one she knew exactly what was happening. :( I fed her as they gave her the needles so at least that semi-distracted her. Because she tensed her muscles up, it made her legs bleed! :( Mummy wanted to cry too...but we're home now and I've stripped her down to her nappy & singlet and she's laying on the lounge smiling and kicking my arm to remind me she's still there. Gave her some Children's panadol when we got home so she seems quite settled now.
-
BBeck, why did she have 3 needles? Coco only had 2 and they were given at the same time, one in each leg. Hope Maddy is still happy. IT seems to only upset them for a few minutes!!
i feel really shocking, sore throat again. Off for a 10 min nap xo
-
One is Diphtheria/tetanus/perussis & polio; the 2nd is Hib/Hepatitis B; 3rd was Pneumoccocal. The last one was the worst...she really screamed on that one.
Hugs to you Meg...hope you're feeling better soon! I have a swollen left gland in my throat but it's just because of my wisdom tooth being pulled.
-
Thanks beck, Im sure coco got all those immun, so maybe they just do two here? Who knows, I didn't even question it! Will go and check the blue book!
Im feeling so tired and sick, Ive taken so many tablets (all ok, like vit C, multivitamin, garlic, panadol etc). Just want to feel WELL!!
hope everyone's had a good day! xo
-
Beck poor Maddy. Three needles? Omg Jasmine only had two also (maybe its different in different states or something, because I know they combined the immunisations so they only have to give 2 needles here) and that was bad enough for me to watch! Ouch YAY for the weight gain!! Congratulations!
Meg I LOL at you jumping out of bed! Its funny, but poor you with waking Coco! I havent had the chance to use my Angelcare monitor yet, I actually forgot about it. I really should start using it when I put Jasmine down in the cradle. Glad Coco slept well for you though after that!
I didnt hardly sleep at all last night, I couldnt sleep so I was watching TV and making all this noise which kept waking Jasmine up, but I didnt care I didnt mind her being awake when I couldnt sleep anyway lol It was just so bloody hot, and the a/c just seemed to cold I couldnt find a temperature balance and I was just furious. Then I finally get to sleep about 5am, Jasmine was sleeping from around 3am and at 8am my friend rang me to ask me to look after her daughter (Miss 9 who I adore) because she didnt want to go to school today because her new baby half sister was born this morning and she wanted to go see her at the hospital. Her Dad and his girlfriend have one baby who just turned ONE last week, and her new baby was born this morning. I feel so sorry for that girl lol she is only 22 too! The most awful thing happened to her though, she gave birth all fine and the baby was healthy but she couldnt deliver the placenta and her uterus clamped down so they had to rush her off to perform surgery to remove it. 3 HOURS LATER she wakes up and found out that they had given her baby a bottle. She has been crying all day long because no one asked her (they asked the Dad and he didnt know what to do so he said give her the bottle) and so the babies first feed was a bottle. She is now BF but she just feels robbed. Which I totally understand. It was 3 hours, its not like the baby would have been starving or anything. They only take a tiny amount when they are first fed anyway.... but how devastating to have that taken away from you. I feel very sorry for her. I would be furious. If you knew my friends ex, the babies Dad you wouldnt be surprised he doesnt understand......
Anyway its exciting for Miss 9 to have 2 baby sisters so we had a fun day. Jasmine just loves the attention Miss 9 gives her lol But Im sooooo tired. I put the Peace Baby CD on and I could feel my eyes rolling back lol so I thought I would come here and wake myself up a bit!!
Hope everyone is well!
-
Maddy is never going to sleep at 6pm again! *L* She slept til 10pm and then woke up every 2hrs all night (like she would normally but much later in the morning!)
Poor little chooken's temperature is a little high for her - 37.3 (by ear thermometer) but FIL says she's ok; so I gave her a dose of children's panadol again this morning. Her head feels so hot and she's just a little grumbly. MIL has taken her for a walk in the pram so I can get dressed & have some breakfast.
-
The poor bubby! Coco had a temp too after teh needles. Went after about 24 hours. Bummer about the sleep!! Have you tried topping her up with EBM at night before her last feed to see if that helps. It really helped Coco, and the formula didn't.
anyway, gotta run, the damn gardener has started the leaf blower SO annoyed, Coco WAS asleep...
-
Ladies I dont know if Im allowed to put this here, so it might get edited but I will give it a try
Did you know that if you use MSN Messenger, you can now add a Tresillian Nurse to your MSN? Ive only just had it on this morning and I havent needed to speak to her yet, so I dont know how busy she is or anything at all. The hours she is available are 9.00am-3.00pm Tuesday to Friday. It might come in handy one day, you never know. So I thought I would pass it on, just incase.
-
Thanks KAte! My friend rang the other day, her mum is a tresillian nurse and she was telling me about that. I didn't get teh website, but you can also talk to each other or something? Im hopeless as I've never used msn, but she gave me an actual address which was ninemsn. something, and theres a few different things you can do. i will check with her again.
Im feeling crap again today and DH has the sore throat too. I just feel like staying in bed all day, pity I can't!! Have Tilly and her friend this arvo, and then Im taking them to jazz.
better run, Im trying to resettle Coco after her half hour sleep!
-
Good morning
We were at the hospital last night with our Hannah she has a cold but last night she was really having trouble breathing it was very scary but she is ok. She was the most unsettled she has ever been.
I must admit I got myself into quite a state when she feed the way she did at lunchtime; she has never done that before.
Gotta run she is just waking up.
Hope u r all well
-
:hugs: :grouphug: omg Rach how scary for you. Im so very glad Hannah is ok. The poor little thing. Poor you too! Huge hugs to you both. I hope Hannah gets better soon. [-o< I hope you are ok too. :hugs:
Meg msn is just like an instant messenger, you type, they see what you type instantly and type back. I love it. You can use your ISP address too I think, so you can sign in with bigpond. Of course you cant with Yahoo or anything like that, but its easy just to get a hotmail address, download messenger then open it, add some contacts to your list from their email address, I use a hotmail address not my bigpond, and then away you go. It shows you when they are online and available, or online and away, or offline when they are not signed in etc. Im sure someone can explain it better, but Im sure if you download it, you will find it very easy. Just go to the hotmail website and get yourself a new email address for free and follow from there. I hope you are feeling better soon too. Im definitely getting a flu shot in March, hope that gets me through winter which is when I normally get very sick! Sorry you are not well and cant just lay in bed all day!

Thanks Kate, will look into messenger. I too was JUST thinking about the flu shot!! Im definitely getting one too.
Rach, you poor thing, and Hannah too. I so hope she gets better asap. Its awful being a mum when your child is sick, very upsetting and worrying. Just hope she is better really soon. I am worrying Coco will catch our cold, we are all trying not to breath on her, and Im hoping breastfeeding will protect her, but you never know I guess. What did the hospital say?

Thanks so much Kate and Meg, I am getting the flu shot this year! FOR SURE!!
It is absolutely heartbreaking listening to her breathing and gagging.
Colin has a cold at the moment and more than likely passed it on. I have breastfeed fulltime and I did think it would protect her but anyway it didn’t.
She just sneezed and a little bit of snot just came out , she must have dislodged a heap because I could see it up her nose and I just picked it out and she sounds so much better.
At the hospital they told us to keep an eye on her nappies to make sure she is having very regular wet ones. If she becomes absolutely hysterical for hours on end and also he showed us what to look out for in regards to her breathing (how her chest would look if she was really grasping for breathe. Any of these then we are to take her back.
The Dr. also suggested getting a vaporiser which Colin has got today.
Hannah was due to have her shots today but I spoke to the MHN and she asked if she has a temp, which she has not, she said Hannah would be fine but for my peace of mind I should just wait until she is well. THANKGOD FOR THAT ANSWER!!
I hope everyone is having OK days!

:hugs: Oh Rach!! You poor things! It sounds horrible! Have you tried the Fess little noses aspirator to clear her little nose out every now and then? It might not help but I thought I would just suggest it incase. A vaporiser is a great idea, I love them and pretty much slept with one every night in winter when I was a child. Im glad the Dr seemed to be helpful and gave you some good advice and things to watch out for! I dont imagine the next few nights will be very restful for you or your DH! Huge :hugs:
Oh Im so glad Hannah didnt have to have her shots today, thats a huge relief. I cant imagine how she would be feeling having to get her shots whilst being so sick!!! When Hannah sleeps, try and get some rest yourself, you must be so worn out physically and emotionally. I hope it passes very quickly and Hannah gets better very soon [-o<
