Oh Rach, that doesn't sound good. Maddy's just getting over her bronchitis and poor Hannah symptoms sound exactly the same. It started off as a cold/flu and went into her chest.
Aside from the Fess 'Lil Noses stuff (like Kate suggested) and the vaporiser for her room; try some Vicks Baby Balsam on her singlet to help clear her breathing passages (she's too small to have it directly on her skin); keep an eye on her temperature and if she seems quite uncomfortable give her a dose of Children's panadol. Oh and either sleep her in her pram with her head elevated, or elevate the end of her cot/bassinet where her head is. Maddy turned purple and choked on the phlegm several times when she was flat on her back.
Hope she's feeling better soon and Kate's right...I'm glad she didn't have her injections today. Maddy's only just feeling better now - more than 24hrs later.

YAYYYYYY!!!!!!! \:D/  I'm flying with Maddy to Sydney on Wednesday next week (1st March) and flying back to Brisbane on Thursday afternoon.
Westlife (my FAVOURITE band eva..hehehe..I've been following them for 8 LONG years - ok, so I'm a boyband groupie!) are coming to Australia but only to Sydney. DH has given me the AOK to go to see them perform on Sunrise on early Thursday morning. Because Maddy is completely breast-fed I'm taking her with me.
Sorting out my flights & accomodation in the morning! :)

Rach - I hope Hannah feels better soon! Poor thing, how scarey! I'm glad it was nothing serious!
Meg- feel better soon!!!! When Don and I had bad colds, we wore surgical masks that we got at the pharmacy...they were really inexpensive!
Beck - Yay! Have fun girly! Good job, Maddy, on the needles! Sounds like she was smiling pretty soon after them!
Kate - Hope you are sleeping away tonight! If it makes that girl feel any better, Abby had to have a bottle when she was first born because her blood sugar was low. She then still wanted to bf, and had no confusion. I had problems later with bf, but I dont think it had anything to do with her having a bottle first.
Has anyone heard from Leanne? :-k I miss her!
Abby gets her shots tomorrow! I am bringing tissues in case I start sobbing! I am anxious to see how much Abby weighs now. After that last growth spurt, she has been taking 177 ml every 4 hours, and 207 ml in the morning for the first feed of the day! She has been sleeping GREAT at night. Last night she slept from 11:30 at night till 5:00 am, and the night before that, she slept from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am!
How much did all your babies weigh at 2 months? Im guessing Abby will be around 4.5 kg, but we'll see!
Don's parents left today! It was a really nice visit! ;)
-
You have a very petite baby Sarajo! *LOL* Maddy was 5.1kg at her appointment on Monday where she was 8 weeks & 2 days.
Just make sure you turn your head and watch bubba rather than the needles...it's bad enough seeing them cry but watching the needles go in...not something I recommend. Oh and I found breastfeeding Maddy while she got the needles (if you're not breastfeeding, then maybe bring a bottle?) seemed to soothe her much quicker. The nurse was suprised at how quickly she stopped crying afterwards because I was feeding her during the whole ordeal.
-
Hi guys.
Beck, how exciting for you!! Are the public invited to see them on sunrise? Where are you staying?? Iwill have to watch sunrise to see you!!
Sarajo, Coco was about 5.5 kilos or something similar at 2 weeks!! She's now probably about 6kilos, but haven't weighed her for over a week.
Better go and get tilly organised for school. Mornings are quite hectic here. Im still feeling really sick, not happy jan!!
hope everyone had a good sleep. coco seemed to stir alot last night, but I still only fed her once at 1.30am and then brought her into bed at 6am. But inbetween I was up settling alot.
xo
-
Meg, yup the concert at Sunrise is free for the public! :) Wanna come along?? :)
-
Thanks for the advise, Beck! I will take a bottle with me and feed her durring her shots! I also won't look at the needle! :)
-
No probs Sarajo...I guess the feeding works as a distraction for them and also soothes them. I'm sure you & Abby will be fine. Oh and another suggestion I think Meg made...you could give Abby some Childrens panadol before you go.
-
Beck, I would love to but I know that mornings are too ridiculous for me and Iwon't make it. Where are you staying? If you have free time wednesday I could meet you!!
Yes Sarajo, I gave coco the panadol before I went for the shots, she was fine and only cried for a couple of seconds. mind you poor Coco is used to needles, with the blood they keep taking for the jaundice. She never cries much so I've been lucky. Maybe the panadol had drugged her a bit though!!
It's not pleasant, but it's over quickly! Hope you are ok ( I think it's the mums that take it the worst!)
By the way, Leanne emailed some photos of Drew. When our computer is working better I'll put them on my website. I think Kate got them too. She didnt write anything though, so not sure how she's going. Beck, when is the belly meet up?? xo
-
Meg, our Brissie meet-up is on Friday. I missed a call on my mobile so I'll need to check whether it was Leanne or not. I sure hope she can still make it to our meet-up.
Maddy & I will arrive in Sydney at about 1:30pm (AEST) and we'll be checking into our hotel at 2pm. We're gonna be staying at the Travelodge on Phillip Street (formerly Martin Place).
Did you want to catch up in the arvo? Maybe after you pick up Tilly?
-
Bummer....Leanne can't make it on Friday! :( Oh well...we're gonna try and catch up week after next.
-
Yey Beck, lets catch up!!! I pick Tilly up at 3.15 so I can meet any time after that. Tell me what suits you, I could always come to your hotel. Sunrise is filmed somewhere in Martin Place isn't it? I love the show, but am not totally sure where its' filmed.
Let me know what suits, I could always come earlier, and mum could have tilly after school, no problem.
Bummer leanne can't go to your meet up.
Kate, maybe you could make it to next wednesday??
-
by the way, forgot to say that Coco did her first roll two days ago. Back to front. Tilly witnessed it (which is special for her) no one else did, but after she told me I could see her trying to do it again!!
-
Oh WTG Coco! :) No wonder Tilly felt so special, being the first and only person to see Coco roll over.
Hmmm...Maddy refuses to roll. Simply because she cries when you lay her on her tummy & back if for any other reason than to change her. She likes to be sitting up so she can socialise.
That is so cool Meg! Meeting up at the hotel would be cool...because I HAVE no idea where anything is in Sydney. IF I win tickets to the private Westlife showcase that night, I doubt it'll start before like 7:30pm.
Miss M is currently asleep on my lap and I'm trying to type on my laptop over the top of her... *LOL* (it's on the edge of my knees)
-
Excellent, I will come to your hotel. I can get mum to pick up tilly and come in then, as it will probably be better before peak hour traffic! I will call you on your mobile, but how about I say about 3pm, so you have time to arrive and settle in! We could take the bubbas for a walk to the harbour if you wanted, just so you can feel that you've been in Sydney!! It's only 5 mins. Anyway, we'll see, it's up to you.
How can you win tickets? I really hope you do.
Anyway, gotta run, Coco is getting impatient!!
-
The only way you can get tickets to the private showcase (I'm guessing unless I run into Westlife in the city and manage to snare a couple from them for being a devout & loyal fan) is by winning them on the SongBMG website. They're giving away 10 (each winner can take a friend in addition)....I just know that a bunch of 13 year old girls who were in nappies when Westlife started are going to win them. :(
That plan sounds great Meg! :) Can't wait to meet you, Tilly & Coco! We'll have to take photos.
Edited to add: OMG...I WILL get to meet them. They're doing a signing in the Channel 7 store next door to the Sunrise studio! :)
