Nic, I am soooo very jealous about your new mattress. What I wouldn't give. ATM sleeping on my lounge is more comfortable than my bed. I fell to sleep on the lounge with Abbey watching FNL so didn't see who won. DP normally watches NRL on tv Friday nights so back to the fighting over the box.

Alicia, wtg on all your renos. Good to hear that Olivia went down alot easier today for you. Sure does help for a less stressful night when they go to bed easy.

LoriRae, sorry to read that little Ty is sick. Poor little man. I have PMed you some links to read re immunisation. I think you will find it has a more detailed read than the government sites where they only tell you the stuff a GP would tell you too. Oh and no your child cannot be refused to go to daycare etc. What you have to do is get a Concientious Objection form from either your GP or Medicare office and have it filled in and submitted. To not accept your child is discrimination and it's a sueable offence

Up until a few days ago I was still wrapping Abbey but now she is in a sleeping bag so no real need, other than her poor freezing hands. Does anyone else's baby suffer with this in their gro bags ?

Carrie, good boy Gabe on sleeping better for mummy. Ohh I love the velour suits on bubs (little or no ironing too) I got some for Abbey on Thursday. Much warmer and they don't come untucked when you pick them up too.

Kids were all pretty good. Tehya fell to sleep first on the lounge. It wasn't even 7.30. Noah stayed awake longer and I fell to sleep with Abbey before the end of FNL. Why I am on here now is just stupid really. LOL. Best be off to bed again. Hope I can fall back to sleep now.

    Have a great weekend everyone

You know seeing as I had a lovely new mattress to sleep on you would think I would have slept beautifully.. Between Olivia and Jacob I just about lost the plot last night.. WHY? Why do they do it.. and Jacob is still asleep. Poor Simon had to go to work today. I feel so bad for him as was getting up with Jacob too as he was just inconsolable at one stage,,

Although when I lay down it felt soooo good..

Trish: DO you have sleepzone down that away? They have a mattress clearance sale on.. This is a slumber land ortho zne pillow topped thingy ma jiggy hehe.. and under $700. We went to one shop and they were all well over the $1000 mark and I said no way am I spending that much.. My Inlaws spent $3000 on thier matress :O

Gos now I have forgotten whats on the other page...,,

someone asked about Bf and teeth.. I thought it would hurt and vowed to stop when Jacob got teeth but in the end it didn't hurt at all apart from the odd graze.. I fed Jake till he was 21 months and not once did he bite me. Not sure how olivia will go as she bites me now with just her gums so scared of her getting teeth lol....

LoriRae - How is Ty? Re your job. If you really don't want to give up your job then don't. Mother guilt can be so bad some times but really you are only doing a small amount and the time away would help you to regroup and come back a refreshed mummy. I regret not going back to work after Sara, only because I have lost all my confidence now and my brain is mush. In saying that I am back working with DH one day per week but I still have Loren with me. I am going to hit up one of the grandparents to take her once in a while so that I can actually get some work done.

I don't wrap Loren anymore, she hated it from birth. My SIL wrap her DS right up until he was around 9 months. If it is working for you then don't stop.

Nic - A good mattress makes life so much better. I hope you get a good night sleep soon.

Trish - Poor Abbey and being so sick. Sending her get better vibes

Carrie - WTG on the settling. I don't have much luck in this department, although I just managed to re-settle Loren for the first time in days Miss Lollie is such a huge catnapper and snacker. I am trying hard to extend her sleeps and get her to have a decent size bottle, but atm I can only get 120ml per feed and some times she is feeding every 2.5 hours..grrrr.

Alicia - You lucky girl getting a new kitchen. Don't worry about Olivia having the odd week of bad sleep, it usually is just a phase particulary if bub has been a good sleeper to start with. Just keep with the "routine" and she'll slide back into it so enough. Are you putting her in the or craddle still? She may want some more space.

My miss commando finds it appropriate to roll over in her sleep and practise crawling all over her cot!!! This really does not help with trying to get a good sleep out of her. I have resorted to using the anti roll cushion again. Lucky I did not lend it out to my friend yet.

I went shopping for a pair of pants for Loren's Christening. ATM I am in-between sizes and it is so hard to get a good fit. I am trying so hard to loose this weight but nothing is happening Anyways I have decided to wear an old skirt with my new top and buy a really good pair of shoes instead. If my butt can't look good at least my feet might

Oh yeah and I'll have to get a really chuncky necklace so that my guests will look at that and not my chunky bits.

Just popping in to ask a question

Even though I don't plan on starting solids anytime soon I was curious if I should give Olivia a cup to play with.. I would put boiled water in it. I usually start with the cup around the same time I start solids but was just curious what others do in regard to cups at this age? and what sort?

I like the new Tommee Tippee Range.. I bought those for jacob and they have smaller ones with handles now. (woolies)

    Hi all,
Trish- Thanks for the immunisation stuff, I will have to get around to reading it all now... why did I not appreciate all that free time I had before I had a bub? Life is so busy now. Thanks for letting me know about the concietious objector form too- suprisingly enough, the immunisation handbook doesn't contain that piece of info... only says that your child will not be enrolled if they are not immunised. Oh and we get the freezing hand problem too- another reason why i wrap him up. A friend suggested mittens but they are all only in newborn size and the bigger they grow, the harder it is to find suits with mittens attached. I used to love putting Ty in a Wondersuit and popping the mittens on then watching him stare in confusion at his 'stumps', wondering where his fingers had gone
Nic- Ty gums me pretty hard too, hence the question about the teeth... grazed boobs sounds bad but can't be as bad as four stitches in the labia, right? (Positive thinking going on here!!) And re: the cup question, I started Ty with a cup from 4 months at the speech therapist recommendations, he has it with a little bit (about 30mls) of boiled water in it. But that's only been the last week, before that I was giving it to him with expressed milk, so maybe that's the way to go?
Bekz- Gotta love new shoes, they always make you feel like a million bucks no matter what else you're wearing. We have to get ourselves together enough to get up early on a Sunday and go to church so we can get Ty christened. And the mother guilt really is something isn't it? They don't warn you about it in antenatal classes! I wish I could say I come back more refreshed from work, but it actually exhausts me, which adds to my guilt. Sounds silly, but a little bit of it is superstition- I kind of think that because I work with sick kids, maybe it's building up my good karma and will protect Ty? Like I said, silly, but that's sticking in my head.
Not that it's working at the moment... back to the GP today and Ty has bronchilitis, poor little thing is still so sick. Spiked a bit of a tempreture tonight so I gave him some Panadol and popped him in bed early- the Panadol makes him so sleepy. The doc also recomended a vaporiser so we invested in one of those too. I'm not really a huge fan- I've always thought they were a bit unhygenic and could blow mould spores into the air, but I spose if I clean and dry it properly and air out the room during the day it won't hurt. And at this stage I'll try anything to help the poor little guy breath a bit easier.
Must go and tidy up my filthy house!!

    Sorry, forgot to add-
Nic, we've actually been using a proper plastic cup instead of a sippy cup, again on recomendation of speech therapist.. makes it a bit time consuming as you have to sit and put it to their mouth so they don't pour it all over their head! Especially with breastmilk, it's so sticky... she said to graduate to sippy cup at six months.

thanks LoriRae.. I am thinking maybe Olivia doesn't have the co ordination for a cup. I think she would just chew on it anyways.

hehe About not appreciating all the free time.. I know exactly what you mean

and not sure on comparing nipples and labias lol.. I think nipples hurt more Once they toughen up to it again I find it is fine.. To be honest I didn't have much trouble with JAcob when he got teeth..
