Good luck Rory - yum wood fired pizza
Well I was planning to go to my parents this coming Saturday and stay for a week while DH works in his family cafe in Tamworth, but my Dad called last night and said he can fly to Sydney on Tuesday and drive back with me on Wednesday to make the trip easier - yay.
-
Well I had a whole 1 and a half glasses and that was it for me. I lay back on the lounge, fed Abbey and crashed out. LOL.
Rory, dinner sounds yum. I hope the talk goes well for you. Perhaps you should get out the wine too, feed up your guest's, get them tipsy and who know's what they will agree too. And OMG that's a lot of wine.
Nic, glad to hear that you had a better day yesterday. Hope you night was a good one too.
Louise, that sounds much better than driving all that way on your own with the girls.
Had a pretty good night here too. I "think" Abbey went to sleep around 9pm ish. I fell asleep like I said and woke just after 11pm. Went to bed and Abbey woke for a feed just after 4am. Not bad hey.
Best go, she's unsettled once again. I can never get showered early in the morn. God only knows how I am going to do it when school starts up.
-
Kitten my GF's hubby has family in Tamworth - does your DH know the Curtis family?
LOL Trish we don't atually have 1,996 bottles of wine :D We have about 20-30 dozen but I mean there are 1996 (year) bottles of Chardonay that need drinking (in that white wines usually need to be drunk within 5-8 years and we have bottles that are past their prime. I WISH we had 1,996 bottles in our cellar! ;)
-
Rory: Good Luck with the boss and the talk.. and yum wood fired pizza...
louise: Sounds like a much better plan.. Always nice to have someone else to drive with :)
Trish: Not a bad sleep at all :) Oh and i hear ya on the school business. I have been chattin with a friend of mine and we might be letting our boys ride to school together ( along with 2 girls aged 10 and 12) bit scary but have to do it sometime...
Last night wasn't so great but it wasn't Olivia  It was Jacob. he went to bed finally but woke at 3 when I was up with Olivia and he went to the toilet and then wouldn't go back to sleep. Olivia was back in bed by 4:30. She had wind so was up longer then normal but Jacob stayed up till after 5 **yawn** He wa sin our bed and just kept tossing and turning. Oh well we all slept in till 8:30.
-
PMSL Der Trish. I re read that and got what you meant Rory. Hmmm can't even blame it on sleep deprivation this time. How about on being blonde ;) ???
Don't you hate that Nic. Do you remember what it was like to just have 1 baby or kiddie to worry about. You could sleep when they slept, whether it was 10 am or 2 pm and there was no one else to worry about. When you got the baby to sleep you didn't have to worry about other kids waking them up. Ahhh the good old days ....
-
oh yes I sure do.. We didn't have our second till Ethan was 4 and everything was so easy.. walking going out in the car, bath time dinner time. I wouldn't swap it for the world but I do miss it...
Miss Olivia is a cranky poppet today :)
-
I have a cranky Olivia here too Nic. She has been murmuring and grizzling all morning.
-
morning ladies!
Again there's so much i've missed!!
Ali - congrats on you nephew!! :D
Welcome to all the newbies!! And congratulations on your bubs!!
Roryrory - well i THINK so!.... This week will make first trips in car alone with bubs! :o ..... a little nervous, but i don't know why since i'm the one who usually puts her in and out of car seat etc! LOL hmmmm wood fired pizza! YUMMOO!!! have you got an oven in the back yard?
Alicia - hope all is well!
re alcohol! - in Greece they encourage BF women to drink a beer or two a day.. apparantly helps with milk production and let down! hahaha i love it... i so want a Canadian Club and lemonade!!
Well all your bubs seem to be starting to sleep well!! I'm still up at 11ish pm, 3ish am and 6ish am... hmmm am hoping she will soon start sleeping through the 3am feed.... that's the one that really kills me.. i fall asleep while feeding her..not good!
The last two days we've had some rockets! Rocket is the name that DH and I have called Chrissie's spews! She always tends to dribble out some milk if we put her down soon after a feed.... but yesterday she let out one of these rockets.. they shoot out at great speed and are a cheesy kinda texture...?!?! any ideas on what we can do to stop this??? Was wondering whether it was normal or whether she had a tummy cold or something, is she eating to much... she did it again today and when she does, it involves new clothes for me and her!!
Apart from that, so far so good! We have a little bit of wind in the evening before her 11ish pm feed, but then all is well usually!
hope everyone is doing well!!

Ahhh Haroula, welcome to the spews. Abbey has been doing a few of them lately too. I think it sounds like a touch of reflux, esp with the force they come out with. Same as Abbey. Looks like curdled milk hey.
Remember that there are a few older babies in here hun. That is more than likely why they are seemingly sleeping better. We have been through all those wake ups already. Chrissie will get there soon too.
And what's it matter if you dose off during feeds. I put Abbey onto the boob then fall right back to sleep with her there. She takes her mouth off when she's finished, LOL.
Nic, I have a 7 year gap between Brandon and Noah. OMG it was like starting all over again. I had gotten used to going out, being able to have late nights and peeing and showering on my own. Noah was a hard baby too, so it was a real smack back to reality for me.
Alicia, I hope Olivia setttles today for you.
Today is much cooler here. Was 37 degrees yesterday and today it's supposed to get to 22 degrees tops. Was hoping it was going to get me a more settled baby, but I'm not so sure. Atleast I got a shower in though. WOOHOO for one small step.

Hi Girls,
I thought i would come and introduce myself, (although i know quite a few of you from TTC and BB threads) I've got a 5 1/2 week old boy called Jye he was born on 7th December, i haven't logged on to BB for ages. Things are going ok so far although every few nights we have trouble getting him down to sleep - once he is asleep though he sleeps really well, we're off to see someone about this on Thursday so hopefully we can fix it.
Look forward to chatting to you all again and getting to know the other ladies :D
-
Trish - yep sure does! yuck! poor thing! Is there anything you can give them... or it just passes with time??
Yeah i know....:D we've been lucky so far with the sleeping! LOL i shouldn't complain!!
Boo - woohooooo have missed you!! Good to hear things are going oK! Hope you are feeling well! hopefully you can resolve the sleep issue!
-
I'm so sorry! I havent been able to keep up with everything again and logged on today to find that there are 4 pages to catch up on.
Today is my first day flying solo as Tony is back at work today and everything is going very well. We went for a walk at 7am and Fraser fell asleep straight away in the pram and has only woken once since then for a feed and back to sleep again. I feel quite confident now with his sleeping/feeding routine so I hope it stays that way.
Boo - Welcome! It has been so long since we have heard from you so it is nice to have you back. Great that everything is going well for you. Good luck with the sleeping. I know if Fraser isnt fully asleep when we put him down he wakes back up in a few minutes time.
-
ok ladies, have added some new pics to the gallery!
nice to see you Dayl!!! :D glad all is going well!!

-
LOL thanks for the comments Trish and Nic!.. She makes some cute faces, but i have yet to capture those on camera~!....will have to make more of an effort!
PS. does anyone drink any coke??.... was wondering if it would keep bubs awake if i had a glass, really craving it!
xxx
-
I have had a few glasses of coke lately. TBH I think you'd have to drink a whole heap for it to have that sort of reaction to bub.
ETA Haroula, Abbey is shocking with the dummy now too. She did take it briefly but very rarely now. She gags on it.
-
yeah is interesting.... Chrissie has taken the dummy only twice.... sometimes she gags on it too! and most of the time she just spits it out!... oh well! I guess it's a good thing...kinda!
-
I drink way to much coke  but I drink zero. not that it has any less caffiene tho
Well missy must hate me being on here.. She has been nicely settled for a swhile so I thought I would jump on here and as soon as I sat down with it she started,, Might be night night time
Dayl: hope your first solo day goes smoothly
-
hi all,
welcome to all the new mums and bubs that are here.
bron: dont let you hubby make you feel bad for needing a cry. we all do it at some point. i had a touch of pnd with my other 2 so i was crying 75% of the time. this time round DP has been alot more supportive so it doesnt happen again.
Mirani's gotten a bit of a rash on her face and body which i first thought was a hormone rash, but its not like little pimples like a hormone rash would be. its like little bumps everywhere. i have booked her in to see the gp on thursday. my usual dr is on holidays so i'm waiting till she gets back before i make an appointment for myself.
Tia and Alisha are doing well. i think being home is starting to get to them. hopefully a sleepover at grandma's sometime next week will fix them.
-
Wow things move fast in here.
I think coke would be ok. Like Trish said you'd have to drink a whole heap of it to affect bubs.
Boo - Hi!!!!! Congratulations on your little boy!!
Nic - I think Kai is the same about BB. I get on here and as soon as I start typing he starts crying.
Well yesterday things didn't improve for me. Kai just wouldn't settle. He'd go to sleep in our arms and as soon as we'd put him down he'd scream the house down. Was so upsetting. DP finally realised why I was mad/upset and he rang his family and told them not to come over. I was so happy, but i still didn't get any sleep. Last night I did manage to get him to sleep (and in his bed as well ) but he'd only sleep for 2 hours at a time.
So because my normally cruizy baby who would self settle and sleep for 4 hours at a time was so obviously in pain and something was up, being a first time mum I took him to the dr this morning. I just wanted to rule out reflux. Well he has reflux, but the dr doesn't seem to think its too bad, so I've just been told to keep him upright for 30 mins after a feed and raise one end of his bed. The dr said his main problem is colic. So now i'm trying everything to get the wind out of him. Poor little thing.
Well, he is laying in his bouncer fighting sleep, but not crying, so i'm going to head off and have a sleep myself.
-
cool! COKE! yummo....
Michelle - hmm i hope Mirani is ok!
Bron - Am thinking, Chrissie may have a little reflux too... sometimes she's sleeping so peacefully and then she lets out this cry and you go over there and she's all squished up and bright red.. she doesn't burp very easy either and i do everything to try get that air out! She doesn't cry though....not much... a little whiny though. I hope that Kai settles for you.. poor little thing!
Darn, Chrissie just woke up and now she got hiccups! she was only asleep about 15min!! .... it hasn't been the best day.... i hope that doesn't mean we'll have a bad night!!! arg!
hey, does anyone know of a good hand wash that doesn't dry out the skin!?! with all the hand washing that goes on now with Chrissie, my hands are so rough and dry!..
xxx
-
Michelle: being home all the time has gotten to my kids as well.. I hope ou work out what Mirani's rash is
Bron: Glad the visitors didn't come ;) shame you didn't get a nap though. they all go through that wake sleep routine. Can be so frustrating. Glad the reflux isn't too bad
Haroula: You enjoy that coke :) I am right now.. As for hand wash.. not sure.. Mine have just settled down now after 8 weeks of constant scrubbing.. so it might just take time. I do use Olivias bath wash most of the time and I moisturize when I find my hands are getting to dry..
Well Olivia must have had a tummy ache. She was ok but all she wanted was to lay on her tummy. So I put her on the floor next to me and rubbed her back for a while and she went to sleep only to wake a few minutes later and then after doing that a few times she farted and farted and has now been sleeping sundly for 2 hours..
I am thinking Af is going to show up any day. It started poking its head thru the other day but went away again but man am I cranky  I am getting plenty of sleep ect but I just feel foul.. Maybe not enough of nookie :)
-
nic - hahaha for the nookie... well i'm still bleeding from the birth... so there's no nookie here!! DH keeps bugging me for some attention, but i tell him he aint getting none if i can't get none!...
yeah i been moisturizing too, guess my skin just has to get used to it...will try Chrissie's bath wash like you suggested!
Chrissie had a tummy ache too... cause she was all grizzly and i picked her up and held her in our "let it rip honey, it's ok" position, one leg hitched up, she let out the hugest fart with some poo... twice and now she has settled back to sleep!... poor darlings!
I so hope my AF don't show up until i stop BF!!! well it has to stop before it can start! :cryinglaugh: i'm sick of changing these pads!!
sorry TMI!!
xxx
-
I was so sick of of changing pads so I went to tampons :) but I figure I had a c/s so it was ok. i did it last time too.. but still i know what you mean..
I would like more nookie but I just haven't got my mojo back yet.. ;)
-
I hear u haroula on the coke.. im craving it BIG time, but i heard its bad for bubs and it is one of those foods/drinks that gives them wind, so i havent had any :(
Anyone agree with that? not that he doesnt have enough wind already without the coke!!!
-
A child health nurse said the gas in the soft drinks can give them wind but I still haven't figured that one out and it made no difference to Olivia if i drank it or not..
oh and did I see a post somewhere that said it was your birthday today???
-
Hi all! I've finally found a moment to pop in!! Trish I don't know how you have time to do anything with a bub a 2 yr old and three other kids - you are a wonder woman.
Well things are going ok here, although Gabe has bad tummy pains (colic I think) and wants to be held all the time and Kyla is just proving that the terrible 2s aren't a myth!!
I've been giving Gabe Donnalix for the colic - I think it ma help but can't be sure. He cried most of the morning today and nearly sent me mad!!! I finally got mum to come over and he was as good as gold and slept the whole time she was here (typical!).
Well re: the coke thing, I've been drinking caffine free diet coke.....hmm I wonder if that could be causing any problems - but it's the one thing I really love...
I have to take Gabe to the Dr too as he has a granuloma (?) in his belly button (apparently like a cyst)- don't exactly know what it is but the MCHN said I will probably have to get some silver nitrate to put on to dry it up.
Anyway, I'll try to get in as much as I can!!
-
hi Carrie :)
Not having a good night here,, Olivia is not happy unless on her tummy.. ALL day and ALL night.. I dont know whats up :( she is passing alot of wind and I wonder if it is the salad causing it? I know around Xmas time I was eating alot of salad and she was like this so I stopped eating it and I had some yesterday and today and she is back to being windy. I gave her some IF and she has settled but on her tummy pn the floor not in bed,,,
-
Hi Nic!
Sorry you're having a bad night :( a friend of mine sees a chinese hearbalist who says that you should avoid lettuce and tomato (among heaps of other things re: colic), so perhaps the salad is making her windy. I'm not sure what Gabe gets it from...
The only thing I can think of for you is to go to bed and sleep her on your front on her tummy, if that makes sense?
-
yeh I figured it was the salad.. It just sucks cus thats what I am enjoying eating at the moment..
She sleeps on her tummy at the moment in her bed and has so for about a week now b ut she was happy during the day to lay on her back or even sit propped up but at the moment she just wants to be on her tummy all the time..
-
Quiet night...
Olivia slept quite well even though poor thing was a gassy gassison :) and yay this morning she is happy to sit in her swing and look around. I dont have to hold her and pat her bum and tummy..
Last night at 3am I was just giving her cuddles as she went back to sleep and she gave me the most beautiful smile. I melted I tells ya
-
Morning ladies :)
Oh my lord yesterday was the worst day ever. Ripley just wouldnt stop feeding and when he gave me a break he'd fuss unless I was holding him. My 15mth old also decided yesterday was the day to start preparing me for the Terrible Two's, I seriously could have gladly given him away. I eventually had to just put him in his room for timeouts every 1/2hr because I thought I was going to shake him senseless (obviously I never EVER would). He's never been so naughty before, I almost cried a few times. I know its probably a reaction to having a sibling and my time having to be divided between them, but I feel like its all my fault, I really need to try and spend even more time with him :( I am thinking I should have given it a few more months before we had another baby but its too late now. I know in a year's time they'll be the best of friends and all this will be a distant memory.
God, Mummy Guilt sucks!
On the bright side the baby bonus came through so now we are debt free, we actually have money in our savings account AND I can go buy some breastfeeding friendly tops, oh and a Dyson vacuum  Our vac is old, doesnt suck properly and uses bags so it drives me insane and vacuuming involves alot of cussing and kicking on my part  I also need to book somewhere for family pics and get Jett his new carseat (a Maxi Rider).
Might attempt all this today while they both seem in good spirits, so Id better go shower.
BBL.
-
Nic - I'm glad your night turned out good in the end. There is nothing worse than starting the night off bad because I know all I can think about is the long night a head. Don't say that about salad, basically I'm going to have nothing left to eat.
Carrie - What's Donnalix? I've been using Brauer's Colic Relief, it seems ok...but I like to know my options.
Re the Colic, the Dr told me yesterday to stop eating wheat for a week (damn just started again) and to limit my dairy. Then I'm to introduce a little into my diet to see how it goes. He also told me to put a warm heat pack across Kai's belly when he's particularly unsettled (not really sure about this because I'm worried about him over heating), but I've done it this morning and it has helped, normally he's really unsettled in the mornings and wont let me put him down, well his been having 45 min cat naps all morning so I've been able to do some cleaning, washing and have a shower.
Well we had a good night last night. Started off a bit rocky because we were at the IL's and Kai was asleep and we had to wake him to bring him home (he screamed the whole drive home too). He took about an hour to settle again. Thankfully DP got that job so I could sleep. But he only woke at 1 and 4. So I was really happy with that. His feeds are taking a bit longer because I'm burping him more, but I don't mind if he sleeps longer.
He did the nastiest poo this morning. My first nasty poo in MCN. I could hear him doing it at 4.30 and I asked DP if i should change him then and he said no, so unfortunately Kai woke again at 6.30 wanting his nappy changed...it was horrible.
If you know their doing a poo, do you change them then or wait for them to be uncomfy? Normally I'd have changed him...
-
Anna: mummy guilt is the worst, I don't think the age gap makes a difference. My son Jacob was terrible up until this past fortnight and has now settled down.. My other son Isaac (4) is horrendous **sigh** beats me what has got into him but I hear ya on the shaking ;) ( wouldn't do it either but some days) Hpe you get all your jobs done today. I am yet to even get out of my Pj's. Olivia now unsettled but is finaly asleep over the arm of the couch so I can't go anywhere  and I don't dare move her
Bron: Don't you hate when they wake when you are about to go in the car? I hate crying in the car it is just so painful.. and on the nappy changing. If Olivia is awake I change her when I hear her pooping well I wait a few minutes to mnake sure she is doneand she lets me know when she is done.. otherwise I leave her.. but she doesn't poo in her sleep only pops off constantly
Salad might not effect Kai. It never effected my other kids but each time I eat it the next day she is one unhappy bub but then she goes 3 days between proper poops so I wonder if thats the problem even though BF babies can go up to 10 days.. ah its all so hard some days isn't it...
-
Nic - yeh was my bday yesterday :) it was pretty quiet as everyone was either on holidays or back at work. but mum took me out so that was nice,
And at last Ash got to meet his daddy!! it was sooooo good i almost cried! he was so all over him and asked for cuddles and it was just perfect! i was soooo afraid it would go bad and he wouldnt want to be there! so that was the best birthday presant i could ask for!! :D
Well today is first day on my own, mums back to work so hoping all goes well, ive managed to get him down this morning for a sleep after a horrid night with wind as i forgot to give the drops to him :( so thats good i can do some bits this morning.
Does anyone have a shower whilst there bubs is sleeping??? im so worried if i do and he wakes up ill jump out the shower wet and be stuck naked for the rest of the day trying to get him back to sleep LOL i hate putting him down to cry whilst i do things, hes a real screamer and makes his face red as a tomato!! i hate it, he has even started to have tears now :( other wise ill have to wait for tonight wen mum gets home....:(
-
morning ladies!
typing one handed so bare with me!.... we've been bringing up a bit of milk this feed!...poor thing.. and poor mum.... have to wash the sheets and an outfit....and me!
buzzie - well one glass didn't seem to increase her wind at all!... HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday!!!
i have a shower while Chrissie is sleeping.... about to go have one right now!!
nic - well the other day i had quite a few lemon lime and bitters and that didn't make any difference either!... i eat salad too!... haven't noticed any difference, maybe it depends on how sensitive bubs is?
Yeah, doesn't your heart melt when they smile like that!?!?! it's awesome!
Carrie - it's good to hear from you!! :D sorry to hear Gabe has colic! poor little man! Hope it gets better soon and miss Kyla gets better too!!
Anna - i don't think it makes a difference how old they are when they get jealous of the other... he will get used to it and it will get better.. i saw it with my brothers kids...they getting better now!
Bron - if Chrissie is awake i change her.. if i've noticed a smell and she's asleep i leave her... she doesn't seem to mind... she has yet to have cracked it about a wet or soiled nappy! That may change though!! :cryinglaugh:

Happy Birthday for yesterday Lauren :)
as for showers I shower when she is awake and settled or when she is asleep. I have the advantage of having a 8 yr old who can settle her for me if she wakes but sometimes he is to engrossed in something and doesn't hear he  but somtimes I have to leave her to cry even just for a few minutes as I have 3 other kids to deal with and she is aright little screamer too and boy does she get going..I swear her eyes go almost black sometimes..
haroula: typing one handed becomes easier with time doesn't it :) and I am getting the most delicious smiles right now aww.. so sweet...
Sorry bout the milk spews, Olivia has days like that too..
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!! And I am so glad Asher's meeting with his dad went well, but how could it not when Ash has such a cute little face to melt everyone with!
Good night her thank goodness. Olivia went to sleep around 11:30 and woke at 5:30. The 5.5 - 6 hour nights are getting to be more the norm so that is fab! After a feed at 5:30 she went back to sleep til 9am but then woke up absolutely screaming as her nappy had come undone and wee was everywhere! I immediately put her in the bath and my mum changed the bassinette. Then as I took her out of the bath she wee'ed all over me!
-
ah the good ole wee on mum trick :)
Anyone have any tips for me.. Olivia just won't stop screaming :( It is mean but I just have her in her swing right now.. I had to make the boys lunch so I had to put her down.. She wasn't settling for me anyway :( god I hate days like this and I don't know what to do.. I have given her IF and I know she has a gassy tummy cus when I hold my hand against her tummy I can feel it rumbling...
oh shh.. I think maybe she is going to stop.. silence.. I don't dare move lol. she is just staring with a totally foul look on her face.. I feel mean
-
alicia - LOL i've had a few of those wee epoisodes too!! hehehe all over me, OR the change mat!! have had to wash the cover about two/three times a week so far.... gonna have to get smarter!!
nic - yeah, i let her cry a little too if i have my hands full, not much you can do! especially if you have other kids to tend to also!! You sound like you are doing an awesome job being so busy AND finding time to log on!!!
I think Chrissie is going through a growth spurt cause she's been feeding more often the last couple of days!! I hope i can produce enough milk for her!
-
I finally have her asleep.. as for logging on all she wanted was me too hold her all morning so I did lol.. I didn't let her cry for to long cus I just felt to mean but all os good now and she is sleeping soundly.. The boys are watching a movie and I just enjoying the quiet for a few minutes. I have managed to vaccuum and sweep today and remop my kitchen a gazillion time.. Jacob kindly tipped half a bottle of cordial onit yesterday and I am still trying to get it clean :)
I feel better now Olivia isn't crying.. housework is mainly done. Kids entertained.. lunch has been done.. oh just realized I haven't eaten today.. woops.. I better go do that.. no wonder I have been a feeling a little flat...
oh and I don't have to do any washing cus it is raining again :) tomorrow it will need doing tho so today is my day off (sort of)
