well OMG.. I ventured out on my own with the 4 kids. first proper one. Isaac gets dizzy and the bloody pram wheel fell off.. what is up with me and pram wheels?? I walked to a friends house 2 streets away just before xmas and used the double pram and the wheel fell off that so I chose not to use that today and used my 3 wheeler for Olivia and Jacob in the stroller. Ethan helped me push them.. got to the shops no worries and looked down and went WOAH! anyways made it home safely kicking the wheel back on each time it started to come off.. Olivia was excellent and only cried once for a feed and then just as we walked in the driveway as she was very wet...

now she is calling for some booby..

    afternoon ladies!

This has taken me 2 hrs to post!!! OMG what a morning! Someone couldn't decide whether they wanted food, sleep, cuddles or play time! So we did the lot!! and is now sleeping!!

Yesterday was a good day! Lots of sleep and eating!!!...

    nic
    - awesome with Olivia and the bath!! gotta luv those smiles!! Doesn't it make everything worth while!?!?! hmmmmm not looking forward to number 2 coming along after all you mums with multiple kids airing your frustrations!

OMG i could only imagine the logistics of getting 4 organised for a trip to the shops!!!

shell_bell - hi! and hey... what's the dreamfeed??? sounds like i'd be into that!!!

trish - sorry to hear about the ear infection ouch poor thing! hope it gets better soon! Full credit to you with the kids, suddenly i'm not looking forward to number 2 coming along!!!! wish Chrissie would take the dummy too! she likes to suck on my finger to get the gas out!...darn midwives for showing me that in hossy!!

    bindy
    - my MIL lets her self in how!! she has a key for emergencies and she's been using it to let her self in!! doesn't even knock anymore....never used to do this!! her thing is that she doesn't want to wake/disturb me if i'n feeding etc! give me the real ****s i tell you!!

As long as she's asleep or i know she's safe, i also leave Chrissie to hang out the washing... there is no other solution!...which reminds me, there are towels in the washing machine!

    Lauren
    - I didn't really get much of a line.. but i got everything else!! Yeah i still have a bit of bleeding.. thought it was going to stop the other day! but it came back a bit yesterday! arg! so we'll see..

Anna - Chrissie has been like that the last few days too! except yesterday! lots of grunting and on the boob ALL the time!... i think it may be a bit of a growth spurt plus some wind! hoping it eases for you soon! i've taken to giving her expressed milk, because my nipples were starting to go backwards again!

kristie - sounds like you are doing great!!!! that's fab!

QM - think i might go out and get me some of this IF soon!! hope you are having a better day today!

Lara - what a pain with the bus! i can't believe nobody got out to help you sooner!! what is this world coming to!

Bron - sorry to hear you had a rough night! but at least you have discovered the problem and have a solution!

    alicia
    - glad that things are getting better for you.... i'm wondering whether "I" should be putting her into some sort of routine, other that just feeding when she's hungry..??!

    What is everyone else doing??

Well, i better go get some lunch while Chrissie is sleeping!

we have our 1 month appointment tomorrow with the MCHN so can't wait to see how she's gone weight wise! She definitely FEELS a lot heavier! LOL.....

Is anyone else loosing track of when you feed..? sleep? burp? change? ....ohhh forget to eat? drink?! OMG! big to those of you that have more than one!!! DO you actually eat and drink???....

Lauren - I also have the stripe (very faintly) but it is overtaken by the big scar up the center of my stomach and the staple marks that go with it. My stomach is never going to look the same again (or even close to) unless I have plastic surgery after everything is healed. Sorry I'm not b!tching, just feeling very ugly myself this week.

Nic - I keep a close eye on my pram wheels all the time after I heard that it happens quite a bit that they just fall off. Why the heck are they not designed better?!

QM - Let us Melb girls know when you are down here. We should try to organise a meet up. I didn't just have a c/sect, I had complications and so had 2 other major surgeries following it so the healing pains are more than usual I guess. Must be weird for your friend to feel numb there, not sure how that would feel?!?!

We are doing well here at the moment. Olivia is really settled and sleeping well. I think her daytime routine is getting better to. Yesterday we went to the Flemington market for a look around and she was so good. She just slept in her pram the whole time and when she did wake just had a little look around then dozed off again. BTW love having the pram at things like the market, makes carrying all the wine and food you buy so much easier :-)

Better go and eat something while Livi is sleeping. She seems to know the exact moment that I put food in my mouth and that is when she wakes up grumpy.

Well after a couple of horror days on the weekend we are having a much better one today, Liam has had trouble settling to sleep during the day over the last couple of days, and all I can say is I am glad it was the weekend and DH was home. He is much better today and is having his second big sleep of the day.

Anna- I know how hard it is to sit helplessly on the couch BF when you have a toddler that really needs and wants your attention too, however I keep telling myself that it does get easier and they do feed less, it just takes some time. For us at the moment, Foxtel is worth every cent we pay, because even though I dont like to use the TV as my baby sitter, I know that there are always kids shows on that I can distract Tori with.

BekZ- I wouldnt worry at this stage about using a sling to get your baby to sleep, I am all for the motto "whatever works", especially if you have a toddler that needs some mummy time too.

I hear all of you who start your day at 5-5:30, because Tori thinks that is a wonderful time of the day to get up, DH and I alternate getting up with her in the mornings- I am hoping that she is just having a huge developmental/ teething/ growing phase and that she will be back into routine soon.

Well call me crazy- but I have decided to apply to uni and start my postgrad studies this semester (if I get accepted). I will only do 1 unit, but I really feel like I need to do something to keep my mind active while I am not working, hopefully I get in and can cope with the work.

Anyway I am off, I got a new book for christmas and I am dying to read some more of it, so I am going to take the opportunity of both kiddies sleeping to have some me time.

Hardly... and this is the first i have had any major troubl with wheels.. its bleepin ridiculous... and they sure do.. Olivia didn't cry when I ate for the first 2 weeks and we joked she wasn't ours.. we joked once to often cus i rarely eat a meal without her attached in some way lol

OMG i could only imagine the logistics of getting 4 organised for a trip to the shops!!!

It isn't any harder then having 2 kids.. well for me as my 2 eldest help a fair bit. Even tho my 4yr old still wants me to dress him he can at least go get his shoes brush his teeth ect...

and I eat when I eat I have been so bad today.. and I feel each booby and whichever feels fullest get fed off lol...

Hey girls just a quickie before booby time!

Sorry to hear a lot of you are having terrible nights sleep and bad wind pains etc.

Bindy/Haroula You can take bubs outside in a soft carrier bed thing (babybunting 40.00) I have one and obviously put Jemma in it to sleep where-ever it has a hood thing so no sun in face etc. but the Health nurse told me there is new studies on sleep patterns and if you take baby outside 2 x 20mins in morning for some sunlight it resets there body clock and helps with sleep at night time! (So maybe try taking her out when hanging the washing)

Mummytotwo those books sound interesting! Might have to look them up too! Although I did spend a bit of cash today shopping so may leave it till next pay haha or I'll be dead meat!

Ali You are soooo game! Hope the studies and all works out for you wish I had your motivation.

Anna Oh no sorry to hear your having drama's you poor thing hope it gets better soon!!

Infants friend-Thanks girls bought some today just to use at night for settling if need be used it once today although she really isnt that bad with wind and sleeping yet so cant complain! Its my 3yr old whos waking up and jumping into bed with us argh! He has had lots of attitude lately ever since everyone else looked after him while I was in hospital well mummy's back now so its mean Mummy time putting naughty boys on the naughty mat!! You should see the cries and looks and crap I get from him Oh well he has to learn to be pleasant!!

Goodnight all Sorry for leaving half of you out, hope you ALL get a decent nights sleep!!

    Hi Ladies,
Glad everyone sounds well - I have been awol for a little while - computer "issues" but all sorted now....
Bronte had shocker of a day yesteday - grizzled the whole day. It was like she didn't have a decent fed or sleep all day & was very demanding - not nice. Not sure if it was the heat or what but she has been much better today. Was all set to take her to the Dr's today re: her reflux/ wind but might leave it another day or two now. I was using the IF but a few people told me about a local chemist & their "miracle" wind mixture. I drove the 15 mins to go get it but wouldn't say it has helped a huge amt - I don't know what is in it but it smells like gherkins!?!? Have there been any other suggestions for dealing with wind/ reflux that I may have missed?
Had a freind over today & Bronte spewed all over her & then did a massive poop that went all up her back whilst my friend was nursing her - timing or what - we had a good laugh anyway....
I have also noticed since giving birth that I have a feint brown line running from my navel UPwards!?!?!?! Had the one from belly button down with DS but not belly button up. Kinda like it though. Probably couldn't see it while pg as my skin was stretched to its limit!! Am also still bleeding (mild to medium) & did so with DS for about 7 weeks after giving birth. Hope it is not as long this time as I want to get back in the pool!!
Nic - wow girl on going out with all 4 kids - that is awesome!!
DS has been so cute with Bronte - he calls her "my girl"....He has been pretty good with her really other than making lots of noise all the time. He also wakes in the niddle of the night if she cries at all so the 3 of us usually end up in the spare room - not sure how to handle that one....
Haroula - I have a book called the Baby Whisperer & the dreamfeed in that is where you feed them before you go to sleep without waking them up - kinda like giving them a top up. It is meant to sustain them longer through the night....I tried it the other night but she was too fast asleep to feed. Hmmm....
Anyway, enough from me - will try & keep up with the thread now I am back online. Hope everyone's having a great day!!

haroula: lol.. have another 3 or 4 just don't expect your sanity to stay around is all

Kristielee: hope the If works for you too.. and dont ya hate when it isn't the baby waking you but the older one *sigh* the nights Olivia slept well our 2yr old would wake us..

Rory: teething sucks!! I hope Flynn sleeps well for you.. and yay for you having everything done.. I have my dishes done. bugger everything else.. im to tired now

Well I gave in.. I bought Olivia a dummy.. and she didn't need it After yesterdays 3 hour screaming session and this mornings delightful time when I went out for the walk with the boys I picked up a dummy and it was all washed and ready for tonights screaming session. but she slept 12:30 to 5:30 and hardly cried between 5:30 and 8:30 and now she is in bed sound asleep.. ahh

Nic - I'm glad you didn't have to use the dummy! Must have been nice to have a sleep like that.

I was telling DP on friday that i felt like Kai and I were getting a bit of a routine happening. He'd go to bed at 7.30pm, wake at 12.30 - 1, then wake again 4.30 -5. I was happy with that...Why can't we go back to that?

Since saturday afternoon he's wanting a feed every 2ish hours. Its killing me! I want more than an hours sleep at a time! And he's become impossible to settle.

IS this what people mean when they say wait until he reaches 6 weeks? Is he going through a growth spurt or something?

ali i think its a good move to arrange some brain action 4 yself now. i did loads of translations when Olly was a baby, which is a great way to work out your brain, and then i did none for ages when we moved to oz. when i finally did another one, it took 3 days to get my mind working smoothly again! if you don't use it u lose it. but it does come back (after some hard work).

alicia- i will let u girls knoe when i'm in melb, hopefully we can do coffee or s.t without it being a major organisational nightmare... i'm all for easy and disorganised. i will have a car to use, and be staying around oakleigh (south side).

haroula macaroula- two is SO much harder than 1, its a quantum leap. but i hear that 3 upward isnt much harder as the big ones help out (doesnt apply to multiples). so go for 4 or 5. my simple outing w the 2 ystdy was hell. it took 3 hrs to leave the house! poor olly got fed only grapes and hm muffins till late arvo as i forgot to pack his lunch. i was so frazzled b4 i even got anywhere, lucky i got a good bus driver this time.

Xtml I hope it gets easier with 3, but I think that only works if your oldest is old enough to help LOL! If all goes to plan we will have number 3 just as Flynn turns 3 - I have heard of 3 year old girls helping with the baby but not 3 year old boys LOL! Nic, are boys a help?

Nic it will be fun having your bellybuddy to stay - I know I have made great friends with my June 06 girls

Bron, 6 weeks is the point at which bubs will usually show signs of colic or reflux (if they are going to get it) so that is a critical point from what I hear. Plus they also tend to "wake up" around that time and show a bit of "personality" IYKWIM? But don't panic - every stage passes soon enough.

I really should have a sleep now because Flynster is asleep. Ollie woke at 2 and 4 am and was unsettled in between, then Flynn woke at 6.30am and DH is working with a mate today so I am flying solo. I feel ok now (after 2 coffees LOL!) but I just know I will hit a wall this arvo if I don't nap now.......
