haroula: Thanks again for the recipe (mmmm)
rory: glad work is going well.. will go find the woohoo thread soon
Alicia: Lol at MIL. mine thinks she is haha.. although my MIL can cook great food she sometimes over experiments  eta oh and Jacob was just lazy. he didn't even crawl till he was 10 months. his brothers got everything for him lol
Well best get ready for tonight :) Chat later.. have a good one girls :
nic - there is a thread somewhere for recipies...
alicia - he has his needles at 7pm
rory - thats great about work!!! :)
Ash loves his swing!! YAY!! he looks so cute in it! :)
OK, i'll admit it! ,....big woosy mummy here!
Ash was a very good boy, i started crying when they did the liquid mouth drops!! :wall: he did cry when they did the needles but stopped as soon as i got up and walked around (by that point i was an abslolute mess!) and i gave him boobs and he went to sleep! AAAAHHHGGGG
I was being so strong at the start holding it back but as soon as the nurse said its ok your allowed to cry.... it all came out!
And my mum did very well to, very teary but i think it was hard to hold it in when i was howling too! lol
Next time should be better but it was such a incredible moment of someone hurting my baby and i wish i could have the needles for him, just got the better of me!! im soooo gonna suck when he gets hurt and has all his kiddy accidents that they have!!
Now hes happy in his swing! so glad i bought it for him!!
Yeh but this would be just for ME.. Recipes to make nic Fat
I laughed when I read your post about the needles. not as in ha ha but just as in you are so sweet! I even read it out to Simnon and he said oh what a softy lol.. but we are both the same!
Well I had 3 hours yes THREE hours almost kid free. We had chinese for dinner then went for a little drive around then to the Coffee Club for a milkshake (didn't feel like coffee) and I had mud cake and simon had baked cheesecake.. Was so nice. olivia was awesome. didn't sleep much but just sat in her pram looking at us with a silly grin ... And she looked gorgeous of course..
My Little Princess is 13 weeks old today . I can't believe it. and you know what they are right about the magic 3 month mark.. Olivia is 3 months tomorrow and she is just awesome. in 2 days time we will have poo day again so it won't be so great but every other day is getting easier and easier. Going out as a family is easier.. :) I'm happy tonight
Lauren - aweeee you are such a softy!! :D You did well to last as long as you did! Chrissie gets hers next week!
Nic - glad to hear you had an awesome night and about the magic 3 months!! bring it on i say!!!!! :cryinglaugh:
At the moment Chrissie is happily dozing in her swing! I'm glad we got one too! We have the rainforest one and she seems to really enjoy looking at the moving mobile now! :D
have MCHN today at 11:30am so we'll see just how much my little princess has grown!!
 Olivia slept 8:300 - 5:20 and went back to bed at 7 and it is now 9 and she is still asleep.. Of course I need to go out but hey I am not waking her
Olivia is 3 months on the dot today.. this time 3 months ago i was sitting at the hospital expressing milk waiting to be taken down to theatre,
So 1/4 of the way through her first year,, Happy 3 months sweety :)
Dang I feel good lol.. anyone else?
HAPPY 3 months Olivia!!!! :D
WOW what a sleep!! Chrissie has been starting to wake up and want to go back to sleep and not eating too much in the mornings! interesting....
Aww Lauren - what a sweet mummy you are. Not like mean ol' mummy here.. needles and blood tests and things for my bubs have never upset me. Poor DS doesn't always get a cuddle if he hurts himself either.. I just tell him he's ok and to get up LOL (not all the time tho! I can tell if he's really hurt LOL)
Well, we had a physio appt yesterday, and all is good with Kayla's feet, they don't want to see her again.. so yay! Only one more paed appt left I think.. in 3 months.. then no more dr visits! (except for needles).
Well, Kayla has been waking at night so frequently the last few nights.. my eyes are hanging out my head! She just wakes up & feeds and goes straight back to sleep.. I have a feeling she's getting out of her wrap too easily and it wakes her.. I must go on the hunt for BIG wraps.. I've only got one and it's in the wash.. all the others don't wrap her securely. Altho.. she sleeps for aaaages through the day. I wouldn't say she's nocturnal tho, coz she doesn't wake to play through the night.. and she has lovely long plays through the day.. just does long stretches of sleep through the day too. Aah well.. maybe she knows night feeding is best for getting supply up and is having a growth spurt. *shrug*
Nic - glad you had a lovely evening out.. and with Olivia sleeping like that - no wonder you feel good! Can't join you in the feeling good dept tho.. maybe later in the week LOL. Tallon's coming down with the sniffles atm, so he's wanting lots of boob - which I'm trying to accomodate, coz it'll help him not get so sick.. but geez it's tiring when I let him have it whenever he wants. Normally I limit him to feeds before sleeps only.
Well, must go and hang out my washing - it's our one sunny day in another drizzly week I think!
Hi Ladies,
Nic- sounds like nice everning out & glad you are feeling so good. I love that feeling when everything is right with the world.....
H - how did Chrissies appt go? We go & see the community nurses this afternoon for a weigh in so I hope she has put on enough weight. Also, have needles this Friday so busy week ahead.
I was just at Big W doing some shopping - NSW stores have heaps of baby stuff on sale. I had to restrain myself I tell you cos there's not much she really needs but bought her the cutest little soft shoes (pink with cup cakes on them), some leggings to go under her summer dresses so she can get more wear out of them when it is a bit cooler & that was it. Shopping for little girls is so much fun :)
Buzzie - how sweet you getting so upset for bubs. I am a bit ore like Liz re: needles but the thought of anyone hurting my babies tears me up. It is amazing the protectiveness we feel isn't it - it can be so full on!
Rory - woo hoo on the expressing going so well. Bronte drank 130mls last night of EBM from a bottle - the most she has ever taken so maybe she is getting the knack of it too. It will be nice to occasional take a break from getting the boob out ;)
Anyways, bbl for more chat.
Liz - glad to hear that Kayla is doing well!
M22 - i've been looking for cute little soft shoe/slippers for Chrissie too for now that it's getting cooler, but haven't been able to find any..looked in Big W on Monday, they didn't have any here! glad to hear all is going well!
MCHN today went well! Chrissie is 5kg, officially naked and fresh nappy...poor thing, we interrupted a snooze and she was NOT HAPPY!! head circ is now 39cm and length 55.5cm !! so shes doing well!
xxx
ASh had his MCHN apt today too.. hes 6.4kg!!!!!!!!!! LOL is 61cm and 41cm head wat a BOOFA! hes in the 90percentile of babies!!! hehe way to go for only 8 weeks!
Way to go Ash!!! that's awesome!!
Liz - Olivia was getting out of her wrap at night and waking herself so I bought her one that velcros around, it is kind of like a little sleeping bag. It is much harder to get out of so encourages her to sleep longer :D
Haroula - My mothers group met at the pool near Highpoint today so of course I went for a wander afterwards and saw some very cute shoes in Best and Less. I really wanted some but DH pooh poohed the idea :( Might go back when he is not with me ;)
Nic - Glad you had a great night. I can't say everything is right with the world here but not too bad :)
Trish - I hope things have settled down a little at your place.
Hi to everyone else! :hello:
Morning all!!
Nice long day yesterday. shopping and more shopping. Scored 2 Maternity bras for $7  not $7 each but $7 for the 2
Olivia didn't sleep much and was a little cranky on and off but was good for most of the day. Just before holy she screamed the house down. and then slept 8:30 to 4:40. unfort I haven't had a chance to go back to bed as by the time she went back I had Isaac and Jacob awake **sigh** I think it's going to be a long day!
I went to the Drs about my wrists/hands yesterday. I am now waiting on an appointment with the hosp for a nerve structure test thing. No idea what they do to be honest.. For once al day yesterday it they were pretty good but late last night boy oh boy they ached...
Now dh went bck to work today so who knows what I am going to do.. Prob should do some washing ..
OK ladies, that's it for me and BF!! it's over!
Now it's expressed breast milk as long as my supply lasts and formula! Last night i had the biggest scare!! Chrissie puked up some milk, and in that milk was what looked like a little blood clot, snotty thing...about the size of half you pinky finger nail! WELL!! did it not scare the **** out of me!!! We called the 24hr MCHN and they think it was probably a cyst, or small clot from by breast milk. APPARENTLY it happens..!! well i tell you what! i't's not happening here again!! We just have to watch her and make sure it's not happening again.. so far, it was just that once... was so upset!!
its poo day here :( Poor Olivia!
Haroula: How weird about the clot. I have never heard of that.. Hope expressing continues to go well for you. I expressed for 10 months when i was feeding Isaac.. Good luck
Today i am thinking that possibly the "clot" was actually from Chrissie's nose..! I have been massaging the tear duct as my GP suggested and today it seems to have cleared up! This morning when she woke up her eye was pretty much clear, just a little crusty bit on the side! ALL day it has been as clear as yours or mine!! It has NEVER been like that!! And where i normally massage there used to be a hard lump.. now there isn't!
wow we are quiet in here today
Haroula: I wonder what the clot was??
Poo day ended up not being as bad. Olivia was very grumpy but finally fell asleep at 1 till... drum roll please,..... 5:30 lol.. she is even happy now. :)
No poo tho so prbably tmorrow..
How was everyone elses day?
Grrr MIL turned up today and is staying over (neither of us were aware of it). So I had to make a nice dinner (when really I didn't feel like it). Also DH's aunt and uncle 'dropped in' and stayed for hours. I am so tired now as I really could have done with a nap this arvo because Olivia has been unsettled all day and woke up earlier than usual this morning :(
OK that was my whine for the day.
It is very quiet in here...
I took Liam back to the GP yesterday because he has just been so unsettled and not sleeping much at ll during the day for weeks now, and she has said that it looks like he has silent reflux and started him on Infants Gaviscon, we had a better day today but still had his normal unsettled time between 4-9 but I could cope with that because he had had 2 big naps during the day.
Lauren- When Tori had her needles the first time I cried my eyes out, the way they did it at the Dr was to lay her on the bed and make me hold both her legs down while they did both jabs at the same time. This time I am taking Liam to the immunisation clinic where they are much more gentle.
Liz- Liam has been escaping from his wraps easily too, I fold them in half in a triangle, this keeps his arms down but means you cant get their legs too.
Alicia- I hate it when you have visitors and all you want to do is go for a nap, or have a shower or something- espeically when people dont take the hint.
Nic- LOL at poo day, I hope it is not too stressful for you tomorrow.
Anyway I am off to bed, both babies in bed and sleeping by 8:30 which is nice, I am going to take adantage of a good nights sleep.
Alicia - I'm shocked your MIL didn't offer to make dinner herself!! I would never impose like that on a new mum.. sheesh! Hope you had a nice time with the rels tho, despite it being hard work hehe.
Ali - you're a genius! I will try the triangle thing.. I dont' need to wrap her legs.. it's just her arms that I need to keep still. I'm thinking of starting her in sleeping bags, and will need to still wrap her up top.. so this might work! Will stop it all bunching up around her waist from her kicking too. I'll let you know how it goes - will try tomorrow :)
Night all.
morning all!
nic - hasn't happened again, so thinking possibly her eye or the boob like they said! we'll never know.
alicia - what a pain!!! don't they know you still need your rest!! and that MIL of yours...WT?? just inviting herself over to stay.... sounds just as bad as mine, who lets herself in, without knocking, using the spare key they have at their place!!
ali - hope that it works for you....! my MCHN said that 4-9pm is a very common unsettled time for bubs at this age..! could just be a phase..? (hate to use that word..but could be!)
liz - am looking at the gro bags for Chrissie too!... it's mainly arms i have to keep away from her face too... and she's starting to get out of the wraps and it's bunching up also! let us know how you go?!
pretty good night here! and we had a good 4-9pm period, which is usually her worst time..! she even slept until 6pm!! never happened before! so, so far so good with alternating feeds of F and EBM! she seems much happier and content!
so so so so tired here.. Olivia slept 8 till 4 but didn't go back to sleep till 6 so there goes my chance to get a bit more sleep.. and with the boys not napping anymore I believe today might suck just a little bit
Haroula: Sure is weird but at least it isn't happening again
Alicia: wow. rude? or what! I'm rude though especially if it is family. I say I will be back soon i need a nap then I would turn to Simon and say wake me in an hour ok :) then smile sweetly and off I would go
ali: I hope the gaviscon helps. We were told Isaac had silent reflux but they did a barium test and an Xray. as I was expressing they put him on a thickener to add to his bottles but you can give it on a spoon before a feed as well. hope you got a good nights sleep
Liz: Hi
Trish: haven't seen you around for a few days. I hope everything is going ok
The triangle is working beautifully so far! yay! Should dig out the grobags I've got in the drawers.. I think I've got a summer weight one.
Ali - i went to the clinic and they had him sitting on my lap and they had a nurse each side and did it at the same time! I still cant get the look on his face out my head :(
hello to everyone... just a quickie from me before the little man wakes! mum fell over today and broke 2 of her nails half way down her nail!! ooohh u should of seen the blood, so now she cant pick up ash when he cries cos her hand too sore...:( ouchies
nic - hope you are getting some rest!!!
Liz - thanks, will give it a go i think!
Lauren - hope your mum is OK!!? that must really hurt! my nails break real deep all the time, so much that the bleed..i have real weak nails...although while PG they were awesome!! ... so i know the feeling
Lauren; :hugs: and ouch for your mum. that sounds super painful
Haroula: I got a couple power naps in. one was about 5 minutes and another was 10. Seems to be enough for me to have kept my eyes open
Oh and I will get the cake recipe for you too. I left the copy at MIL and now have to wait till we go to town next which will either be tomorrow or tuesday.
Olivia has been ok ish today. Was foul this afternoon but is asleeo now. She still hasn't pooped. i will have to go back and see when I posted poo day last time. I am sure we are on day 6 now
now what to do.. get up and clean... or rest some more? I should get dinner started *sigh*
oh forgot I got a swing. Well I get it tomorrow. I was telling a friend how I couldn't find one for a decent price (read cheap ) and she said she still had hers. I thought she had given hers away so thats why I didn't ask  so yay..
Hey Girls,
Bronte had her needles today & she was a little champion. Cried when they went in but that was it. Has been a bit grizzly this arvo & not feeding so well but is asleep now.
Nic - hope you are getting some zzz's as we speak or if not that they're not far away.
H - glad the EBM/ FF mix is working for you. As I've said before I'm too lazy for FF :) Glad Chrissie hasn't vomited up anymore more clots - phew!!
Lauren - your poor Mum - that sounds horrid & how sad she can't pick up Ash - hope she gets better soon.
Hi to everyone else - probably wont get back now til Sunday. Have a good weekend all!
Mto2: I should ask what your real name is :) so.. lol..
I am glad Bronte did so well :) they get over them quickly which is good
I am heading off to snooze land soon..
hi everyone, i haven;t been around much as i'm dedicated to giving olly extra time and attention in an attempt to reduce the naughty factor - it seems to be working. he hasn't btroken anything all week, oh maybe some toys but nothing intentionally. it's a big releif and i have lower expectations/bigger tolerance now which also helps. Mylo is enormous. all that good vegan breastmilk i say. everyone is happy here and DH is once again saying we should have 10 kids. i reckon he should grow a uterus before saying that. however, i have hd a few niggling thoughts that i'm pregnant again. slight nausea occasionally, hungry in the middle of the night and needing to eat. constant cravings for chocolate muffins (which i make regularly). i still have a home pg test from last year, but it was wrong last time ( i tested negative when i was infact pregnant)
so i wont trust the result anyway. how likely is it that i conceived so soon with out af while fully bfing?
haroula- lunch i try to have a big vege/salad mix with some protein (like tofu or vege sausage) mixed in: the healthy eating guidelines say bfing women need 7 serves of veges (3.5 cups cooked veg or 7 of salad), 5 peices of fruit, 5-7 of cereal (5-7 cups of rice/pasta or breadrolls), 2 protein (=2/3 cup lentils/beans/nuts) and 2 cups of soymilk. obviously i've veganified the list, but you see what i mean. thats alot of food! i sometimes have what ever i make for olly - rice n coconut lentils w spinach for yesterday... lots of single serves in the freezer for those days when i'm not on top of things.
alicia the hair loss is spectacular isn't it? what floors do you have that u see them all? last time post preg i had tiled floors and swept up so many hairs it made my head spin. this time i have dreadlocks and timber floors and 2 kids (so no time for housework) and i haven't noticed any hair on the floor. from memory it went on for 9 months last time (at which point we moved to a place with carpet so i was probly oblivious lol).
Hi girls I am here. Lurking away. Brandon came back home from mum's house on Thursday night, basically they had decided as he wasn't listening or complying with them that they would just send him home. He was still wagging school while he was there. He got bashed up on Tuesday and had his mouth split open, poor kid looked a mess. On the upside he is being a nicer child atm. He even went to school for the whole day on Friday, spend the first 2 periods with his counsellors. And another period later on a counsellor joined him in the class. Hopefully he can see and start to appreciate and even use all this help he is being offered.
Abbey got her ears pierced yesterday, she was so brave. Yes she did cry, but not for long at all, I cuddled her and she went straight to sleep.
MTT, glad to hear that Bronte went good with her needles. Hope she slept well for you.
Nic, OMG at Olivia not pooing for 6 days. That's gonna be one heck of a poo. Hope you have a BIG nappy ready for her. Abbey didn't poo for half a day the other day and she made up for it. Usually most of her nappies are still pooey. YAY on getting a new swing for Olivia too, I bet she just loves it.
Liz, Abbey is getting out of her wraps too. They all end up around her waist, although she does still have one arm covered, sometimes anyway.
Lauren, OUCH on your mum's nails. That's got to hurt. Hope Ash is doing well.
Alicia, I hope you survived the visitors ok. And GRRRRRR to your MIL. I hope she made herself usefull while she was there.
Haroula, I remember when Brandon was only a few days old he spat up a blood clot. I took him to the GP and he checked him over and could find no cause. But as Brandon had reflux it's quite possible it came from his gut. Same as in the early days with feeding Abbey, my nipples were badly grazed and she would be drinking blood too. Poor kid, pink spew isn't the nicest stuff.
Ali, sorry to hear that Liam has silent reflux. TBH I think I'd rather the spewing reflux, atleast that doesn't seem to hurt them too much. Hoping that the Gaviscon is still working for you both.
Best go and eat my breakfast. DP has made me eggs on toast with tomato. Which would be yummy except that I have just had a bowl of cereal !!!
Abbey has just gone back to bed after laying nappyless on the floor for about 30 minutes.
Have a great day girls :D
ETA, OMG Xtml. Do you want to be preg again ?? Do let us know how the test goes. And I would thing that as you are fully breastfeeding and given Mylo's age you should be pretty right. But it's not like it isn't possible either.
Xtml: wow.. personally thats the last thingI would want right now 9can't happen tho thankfully) but the last 2 bubs it would have been nice lol. good Luck
I am glad Olly is being better for you
Trish: I hope Brandon sees how people are helping him to :hugs:
I bet getting a beating may have helped some..
We had a mini poo yesterday afternoon but nothing major yet. at least she is happy :) and I get the swing this morning. At the moment she is in the other one (doesn't work) and is whacking her toys.
Olivia slept 8 till bloody 4 . why can't she sleep to at least 5 It does not matter what time she goes down at night 4 is the tuime she wakes. At least there is tv shows on at that time  difference was she went back to bed this mornin before 5 and we both slept till 7:15..
Well better get up coffee is finished and I am going to the big garage sale thing around the corner (nursing home has a huge garage sale every month)
Nic, Abbey slept from 8.30 til 6 this morn. Of course I fell asleep on the lounge and woke at 3am so I was awake anyway. Figures.
DP is in the loungeroom folding the washing. I have just finished hanging out heaps of the stuff so by this afternoon there will be more piles to fold up.
We have the girls party next weekend. Abbey's Baptism and Tehya's 3rd birthday party. Figured we'd get both over on the same weekend, save money and time.
Opps better go, Abbey is waking up and I never even managed a shower while she was asleep.
:( Hmm they must have had a huge cull. My posts have dropped from over 7,000. LOL.
 at the cull... I hope Olivia starts sleeping till 6. It isn't that I mind waking up its the time she wakes. just frustrating as it makes for a long day if I don't get to go back to bed after the 4am feed
Well it is stinking hot. the QLD summer has kicked back in with a vengence..
I went to the garage sale thing. I got Ethan a bed for $20 :) and Olivia a cute hat for 50 cents lol.. and this star light thing. I have seen them in Ikea and have wanted one for the boys rooms for ages but we don't have Ikea here anywas I got it for $2 yeeha,..
I also picked up the swing for Miss O. she likes it but dh has just gone out to get batteries for it now and she is now asleep in bed..
Well I better get moving Ethans bed is being delivered sometime soon
:cry::cry::cry: It's hot here :lol:
Seriously even the Ac doesn't seem to be doing its job
now for a qn, Olivia did a teeny tiny poo yesterday and thats it. We are on day 6 now. I wouldn't even consider what she did yesterday anything. She is ok has a few moments of screaming but a tummy massage does the trick.. Should I give her IF for a few feeds to see if it helps or just keep doing the tummy massages and let it happen naturaly? A friend of mine keeps suggessting coloxyl drops but I am not keen to give something on a daily basis as I worry it might effect her bowels later in life kwim??
As I said above she is doing ok.. It isn't upsetting her that much.
hi been a while as we have been settling into our new rental - lots of room for Alex to spread his toys all over :)
aussienic - is it a worry if they go that long?????? :dunno: Vicky general goes a week between poos & i didn't think it was a prob - should i be concerned.
Trish - i hear u on the washing - it never seems to end. I hope that Brandon improves with the help he's being offered
We went and hid at the shops today as it was soooooooooo hot & had to resist buying clothes for the kids
question - is it normal for babies to have a week when they dont put on weight - we've had to monitor Vicky's weight gain & last week she put on 200g and this week she has put on 30g. She is still feeding 10-12 times a day sometimes more, plenty of wet nappies and she is happy - dosen't sleep well during the day tho but is having 5-7hrs at night & then another 2-3hrs after a feed early hours of the morning - she has grown 5cm in 4 weeks & head grew 2cms??? I'm just strarting to stress again as she's really little (3.6kgs @ 8 weeks) :( :(
Morgan, it is normal for bub to have a slower week occassionally. Although 30 grams is a very small ammount to gain. Did you weigh her on the same scales ? What about her clothing ? As long as she is stil weeing and pooing fine and is happy enough I wouldn't stress too much. Just try to offer her boob as much as possible. If she looks at it sidewards give her some. If her weight gain doesn't improve then I would be waking her at night too. Sorry prob not what you want to hear.
Abbey was very slow to gain at first, she was sick and we had feeding issues. I was told to put her on formula but that was not an option for me. Stick to your guns and your boobies will serve both you and Vicky well :D
Nic, have you tried some boiled water and brown sugar in a bottle (or cup) for Olivia. Seriously it works. Helps them to poo. That's what I was told to give the boys when they were little from the MCHN.
Hope the heat settles down for you girls in sunny QLD. It was nice and warm here today, not too hot. The rest of the week including the weekend is going to be around 23 degrees and raining. Damn it. Girls party on the weekend, going to have a very soogy yard with too many people in and out my house. Not to mention the bloody jumping castle we have ordered for the day. Buggar, poo, bum.
Morgan: BF babies can go up to 10 days without pooing.. It is just different for me as all my boys literally pooed at every nappy change or feed..
Glad the move went well.. where abouts in QLD are you again? Bris?
I have been monitoring olivia's weigh gain too. She put on 200g in 14 days and as one of the girls from here told me it is quite normal.. I am not sure about 30g though. It might just be the scales too. I would look at the overall picture and go from there. She seems to be growing and sleeping very well.
Olivia is still sleeping :) 3 hours now. I think she needed it especially after such a hot day. funny thing. We had a rooster in our front yard this afternoon  no idea where it came from...
Trish: I have been told too but I am just not sure. It isn't bothering her as much this time but she will still have big screaming fits pass a lot of gas and been again.. I just don't want it to become an issue as she gets older and starts solids.. I am getting annoyed at myself for all my thoughts being revolved around her poo but it is very distressing when she is screaming in pain and i dread poo days kwim
oh and jacob was trying to feed Olivia the other day lol.. I got some pics and a video. so adorable.. I hope my boys remember the days of me breastfeeding so when they grown up and have kids they can help and encourage the mothers of thier children to breastfeed. Silly I know but just one of those things I think of
Trish - we go to the same chemist every time but her clothes are probably different. I am trying to stay positive but am a typical mum & stress about everything - She had better start sorting herself out as i only get 5 hrs sleep max a night and no nanna naps during the day.
Aussienic - np that's what i thought but there's soo much conflicting info at times. We are just outside of ipswich so it was at least 39 degrees here.
That is really adorable of Jacob - great 21st photos too
Thanks both of you for your replies.
