Thanks girls for the support!! I am feeling better now, she finally fell asleep about 3am on the boob so I just shoved her over to DH and he co-slept with her... she slept till 6:30 so got 3.5 hours sleep. I was honestly going insane. Poor DH had me crying and C screaming... rubbing my back and rocking the bassinet at the same time. I am just glad she finally fell asleep!!! She went back to sleep at around 8am and then woke up at 9:30. She is asleep now finally cause she's been up since 9:30. So we are going on 20 mins asleep! yay!
I am feeling emotionally a bit better than last night. I completely lost it btu I enjoyed a 5 min hug with her this morning before she started crying again and I didn't freak out when she did start either.. I handled it way better. I think it's just hardest at night when I am exhausted and she just won;t settle. Mornings are usually better and I think it's because she is so exhausted from the night.

Does the sleep school cost anything? I don't think I could go away from DH for a week!! He wouldn't be able to come cause of work. There would be one in Brissy I am sure, I might look into maybe a day session?

New dawn: I will have to look into contacting a FLO. I didn't know they did stuff like that and offered support! I have found being a defence wife completely supportless so maybe I just don't know where to looK! Wow, going from defence wife to being a miners wife!! That would suck!! How are you doing now anyways? You were looking for a new house to rent weren't you?
I gald you got a little sleep, it makes all the difference, The FLO's are there to help you, they might even pay for the sleep school if you have to fly to brisbane.... I know what you mean about been a defence wife, its not like the movies is it...

I have stopped looking for houses for now, I still have 5 mths left on this lease and keep getting knocked back so I think it might be because of that, or it could be the 4 winkies...

I am have good days and bad ones, even though I have been on my own most of my married life its so very different to now know I am really on my own, that he is no longer there for me to reliey on, but I hope that things will start to get easier soon

Look at me, 2 days in a row

New Dawn: I'm in Melbourne too - Port Melbourne. But I'm harder to have around with my 4 year old. Would love to meet up though.
Well if your harder to hang out with because of a 4 yr old what am I with 4 winkies lol, I have a 4 yr old at home too, so it will be good for her to have someone to play with... If everyone comes over here I have a park within walking distance so if they get too much we could always walk up there, or we could all meet at a maccas have coffee and the older ones could play

New Dawn: Thurs sounds good for now. The glen is about 25 mins drive for me so manageable if Claire is behaving. Yay for PK sleeping for 4 hours!

Reading a really nice book now called 'The NO Cry sleep solution', just started but loving it and how it really hits on how I feel sometimes about sleep or rather the lack of. Hoping to pick up some tips on settling. Claire's just having her second nap today, 2 1/2 hrs in already, she's enjoying the air con I better go check on my washing, I think some of it might be in my neighbour's garden!
that wind was crazy wasnt it... nothing to what Carins is going to be getting soon though, let me know it the book works...

I will have to PM you all my address so we can catch up on thursday...

Well it was muggy today even for me... but we got though it ok... had a bit of sooky day today but trying to be strong and smile though it...

better go PK is wanting more Boobie juice...

    Evening ladies,

Ok so I will try to catch up with everyone but I can only see the posts on this page so appologise in advance for those that I miss.

New Dawn, thinking I've missed a little with you hun...have you recently split up with your dh? Sorry just a little confused by the conversations going on. Also you have changed your name yeah? Can you pm me who were were before? And OMG would LOVE to catch up next Thursday, I live in Mooroolbark so about 30 mins from you, that would be awesome! Be great for us all to finally meet up.

Babyluv, so if you go to New Dawns we can finally meet there too. How's the beautiful S doing? Hope she's settling better for you.

MrsBexie, how you doing this arvo hun? Is little C any better? Fx'ed for a better night!

Caixin, yey come to New Dawns also, would love to meet you and little C.

Kirsten, just checked out your cake, love it! Did you make it?

AFM: Ok so you will all be pleased to hear that I jinxed myself, lol! Little O wouldn't settle last night, after 2 hours DH took over and managed to get her to sleep just by placing his hand on her chest, the little feral. She finally went to sleep at mid night and then slept till 6:30, fed and then went back to sleep till 9:30 till I woke her for a feed, ha ha! We went to visit my work today so she had a big day and has slept really well all evening, about to feed her now so fx'ed she goes down nicely for me tonight.

Hmm not sure who I have missed but I'm sure there's plenty of you. Thinking of you all and your precious little bundles though.

    Take care, chat soon!

Alright i wrote a really long post earlier today and accidentally clicked refresh.

Liam is currently cooing away in his basinette. hopefully he will go to sleep! We've had a shocking night and day due to the heat, its finally cooled down and he seems much happier already. Had our first mothers group today, went wellish i guess. He slept through the whole thing and woke up as soon as it finished.

A Melb meet up?? Let me join in!! The Glen is on the other side of the city but i am willing to travel as i have a few people i can pop in to see on the way.

Bex, i feel for you, i wish i could help in any way!! *hugs*

Babyluv i hope S is going to get better tonight and it wont be too stressful!

Newdawn, i dont think we know each other yet but Hello!!!!

mizqtie, i have to agree on teething, Liam just wants to chomp all the time and chomps on his dummy. He also hurts the nipples pretty bad when he is chomping!

    L is now screaming again

Argh I think we've found avoid allergy over here!! I had prawns with my dinner (luckily only a couple) and the next feed G went wild, poor thing was screaming like never before and I couldn't fix it! There's only 1 person in my family with a shellfish allergy (aunty) but it's enough for me to be not breastfeeding again until tomorrow. Just gave her a bottle of last nights EBM and am now expressing my milk to just pour down the drain I don't want her having it just in case her episode was from the prawns, we just live too far away from help for me to be taking that chance. Now I'm really thankful for the dummy, otherwise I have no idea how to settle her off the boob!

Oh little mrs that sucks!!! Are the prawns the only new thing that you ate? How sad to have all your milk tipped down the drain!!! Fx G settles for you soon!!! Xx

Little_mrs: It's horrible when you eat something that upsets them, at least you've been able to pinpoint what it is. Sorry you have to pump n dump I'm so precious about my breast milk.

Little mrs: Oh no! I'm thinking the same with C. I had prawns for dinner last night and she's had the most terrible night. I used to be allergic to prawns so maybe she's the same. Shame about the EBM, I hate seeing it go to waste but better out than in!

KayleeF: Yay you should come and meet up!

Babyluv: Hope you can get some rest today. Poor S with her reflux.

Keli: Olive still had a pretty long and good sleep by the sounds of it. Lucky you! Would love to have one of ur bad nights any day.

New Dawn: I'm excited about this meet up. Wouldn't mind either at your place or somewhere nearby. Looks like there's going to be a few of us so you decide if you want all of us to invade ur place with our screaming babies

Had a terrible night. C slept most of the evening from 7-10pm then woke up for food but would only nurse for 5 mins before drifting off to sleep again. After that it was up every 1 1/2 -2 hours with 2 huge vomits in between so I had to change her clothes. Screaming when she's feeding halfway so never finishing a feed. Her nose is still kinda blocked and the mucus sounds much thicker so I think she's having trouble getting rid of it. Wonder if she's allergic to prawns too or if she's got reflux. We'll see what today brings.

Just a quick one from me, took G for another swim today in one of the proper swim nappies. Even tho it says 7kg it still fit fine and did the job, so thinking if it fits her then Xani, Ivy and definitely Ava should be fine in them!

Had the HCN come out today, another 11 days and another 600grams! She's now 5.14kg and 55.5cm long so that's 5.5cm and 1.2kg in 1 month I really think giving her the 1 formula a day has helped with all that growing, she's been using every little bit of milk to grow!
Little_mrs - are you calling my daughter fat!! I hope G is feeling better. Good work on picking up what upset her. She is going to be a real little water baby!!!

Bex - how is little miss C today?

Babyluv - hope S wasn't as bad as you thought last night and you got some sleep.

Kaylee - i know what you mean about the heat. Ava is such a sweaty baby and gets so hot!

I am jealous of all you melbourners getting together! Hope you have a lovely catch up, how weird to finally put real life faces to names!!

My angel from yesterday is gone and the devil has returned!!!!! She really hates sleeping in the mornings!!!

Hi Ladies, Gosh I'm hopeless at the moment so sorry I'm not keeping up. It's hard with N & Xani and my mUm here and DH on nights. I do read all your posts just don't often get a chance to reply.

Renee, hehehe my daughter is fat too! I'm jealous of the Melbourners as well. Boo to the devil returning, fx it's only a temporary relapse!

Caixin, oh no poor C! I hope she is more settled today. If you truly think allergy then you should speak to your GP and a dietician if you decide to continue to breastfeed. My niece has a severe tree nut allergy and went into anaphylactic shock after my SIL ate cashew nuts and breastfed.

Babyluv, it's so sad when they are in so much pain from the reflux. I hope S is ok and your night improved

Littlemrs, Did G develop a rash or swelling, or have any vomiting? Same advice as Caixin, go get G allergy tested!! I hope she settled ok.

Kaylee, Xani is so not a fan of the heat either and we are struggling to get her settled in the 100% humidity we currently have. We've found that being in just a nappy helps.

Keli, I'm so jealous of your little angel, lol. I hope she went down well for you last night. I'm thinking you're slightly insane thinking of number 2 already

New Dawn, I wish I could come meet you! Oh well maybe one day. Hope you all have a great meet up on Thursday

Kirsten, how on earth did you eat that beautiful cake? I was amazing! Hope DS had a great birthday. And I'm totally jealous of your lil angel too!

    AFM,
Miss Xani has been a grizzly suckalotorus the last few days and had sucking/feeding frenzies where she stays on the boob from 5pm until she finally falls asleep usually around 8pm. And last night it continued when she woke at 1am and again at 6ish! She is now asleep on her playmat as she kept waking in her basinette. I can't beleive she is 1 month old tomorrow! Time certainly is going fast!!

Hi all, I know I have been MIA, yet it has been hard with everything going on and kids home. Finally they are back to school but still things are abit up in the air, so hopefully will settle soon.

Chloe had her hearing tested at the childrens hospital a couple of weeks ago, her right ear was hard to get much activity but they dont think after further testing there will be any problem. Her left ear has fluid. She needs to go back in 3mths to have her hearing tested again and then again when she is 10mths along with Little V as they want to check her out as well.

    Chloe and little V had their pead appt on Monday, here is the stats;

Chloe: Weighing in at 2.92kgs, Lgth: 47cm, HC: 35cm (6wks)

so he was pretty happy with her progress. She is very refluxy which she is often unsettle, and after trying mylanta and zantac he now wants me to try omephrafole, sorry for the sp? as they others werent giving her much relief. He also thinks she may have some colic too, which I think that as well. Still havent got her on the BB's, yet havent had a great deal of time either to express BM, so I am hoping now that the kids are all back at school I can get my milk supply back up. Poor little mite gets consti[ated on occassion with the formula. brings me back to Little V who couldnt cope with the forumla either and ended up having her on Novalac constipation formula to help her.

Also need to get down and see my GP for the 6wk checkup for bub and I, mostly me though as Chloe has alreay been checked out with the pead, and will be back there again in a mths time.

Chloe is by far my worst sleeper, yet cant blame her I didnt get the chance to get her into a routine from day 1, my way. So its going to take some time and patience to get her into a more settled routine. Especially once we combat the reflux. She isnt a big cryer, she only cries when she wants a feed and once thats there she doesnt, but it is a constant day of feeding, and night time isnt much better. Luckily to get a straight 4hours from her at night, then it is all over the place. She normally gets one good sleep through the day for a few hours as well. Due to the reflux as well, she prefers to be upright, then laying flat, so will be looking at getting a wedge made for the bassinette from clark rubber, or another alternative from where my sister works that can be used as a wedge as well. There is a couple for me to look at at my sistes work for me to choose.
Anyone elses bub vomit through their nose with the reflux? Poor little thing.

We havent had anymore tests done on little Chloe yet, so hopefully the pead will be happy enough not to worry about them, yet I really think he stills wants to redo the brain scan. Not sure if he will still do the heart u/s, yet knowing him he will want to check everything.

Little V, well after getting her to 8.1kgs 3mths ago, about 4wks ago we weighed her on Little Chloes first checkup with the pead just to see how she was going and she was 8.6kg, well over the past few weeks she has had the runs, so after my decision of taking V off the soy milk ended up being abit of a mistake (shouldnt be reading to about the soy milk so much) Definately seems as though little V is lactose intolerant. Before her appt I put her back onto soy milk and she is now not so runny. The pead doesnt want me to take her off the soy milk now. Anyway Little V now weighs 8.3kg and thats in her clothes. So that is pretty depressing. So she too is back to the pead in a mth, so hopefully she will be a heap heavier then. He wants to have her upto at least 10kgs before winter, what a task that is going to be. The reason for winter, is due to her having so much trouble with keeping well over winter.

AFM, well still having days where I am depressed. I just find it hard to smile especially on those down days. Sometimes it gets to an extent where I am sure it is placing a strain on my marriage. Yet the past couple of days have been somewhat better in that department. I think once I can get a grip on things I will be feeling much better. I really wanted to BF yet that hasnt worked out still. I have Karitane coming out tomorrow, she is really lovely, so hopefulyl she wont be disappointed in me with not expressing the past couple of days. Honestly feel like they are wasting their time with me. Definately a lost cause.

Ohh and those of you with reflux babies, if you have got a wedge yet, look at getting one. I will let you know which one I decide to get. The ones that Clark rubber make are made for cots, and they make one for bassinettes, as well.

Hope your all well, and I will chat soon. I just really need to pull myself together. hugs all. Give those precious bubs a huge cuddle and kiss from me and my girls. hugs

    Hey all,

Caixin: Boo to allergies! As shelly said, go to the GP and get her checked out!! Hopefully you can both get some sleep today!!

Shelly: grizzly suckalotorus... love the new name for her! Charlotte is the same... we are human dummies!

Renee: I have a devil too!! LOL.

CSAB: Boo to V loosing weight!! It must be hard with so many kids trying to get Chloe into a routine! I hear ya on being depressed and I don't even have the issues medically that you do!

Well my MW came over this morning to check up on us. She weighed and measured Charlotte and here is what she is now:
    Weight: 4.31kgs
    Head: 36cms (3cm above birth)
    Length: 53cm (3.5cm above birth)

When she got weighed at the Dr's last week, he didn't take off her clothes or nappy and she weighed 4.4kgs, so my MW said that wasn't an accurate weight and he should have deducted the extra. So her correct weight is 4.3kgs today.
Charlotte was soo good while my MW was here! Awake and perfectly quiet! WTF? This child is mean! LOL.. don't get me wrong, I loved that she was so quiet and awake but it just makes me feel stupid and like I am making a fuss over nothing when I try to explain her screaming. She is now asleep thank god. We are going to the chiro today so I have to wake her up early for a feed or she will be horrible when we go.

LAst night was better, i gave her the full 2ml dose of zantac at night instead of breaking it up into morning and night doses and she only had a little scream but was down by around 11:30, then woke every 2 hours on the dot for a feed... it's not ideal but MUCH better than the constant screaming and unsettled baby.

    Hope everyone is well!!

Hello AGAIN - check me out! 3 days in a row!

New Dawn: you have a 4 y/o too? Excellent, that sounds great then. Is the catch up this Thursday or next?

Keli: I wish I was talented enough to make that cake!! A friend made it, she is amazing and is just starting up a cake business! How did you go with Olive last night? Hope she slept well for you

Babyluv: How is Sienna today? How was your night last night with her reflux? I hope you all got some sleep.

LittleMrs: ahhh pump and dump is sad....but better than giving it to her if Georgia has a prawn allergy, seafood allergies can be really scary.

Caixin: Sounds like you had a terrible night. Allergies are the worst, I hate having to think about what I'm eating all the time. Sounds awful to have all the mucous too, it's sad when they are all mucousy you feel so sorry for them because they are so little.

Renee: bugger to the devil replacing the little angel, I hope the angel comes back...very soon

Shellywiththegrizzlysuckalotorus: I can tell you how we ate the cake, it was delicious as well as looking fabulous. I only had the tiniest bit because of the wheat thing, but it was SOSOSOSOSO yummy! I was very sad to cut the cake, but got lots of photos of it. We still have the "hat" in the fridge ready to eat Ivy does the evening feeding frenzy too, I sometimes get an hour between feeds, sometimes 15 minutes until about 9 or 10 when she decides it's bedtime, man my nipples and back get sore from the frenzy! How's your mum going?

Csab: I don't know how you do it, you're a complete supermum. Even without all of the paed appointments and stress from those things, I don't know how you do it. Hopefully the Karitane people can help you out and I'm sure you're not a lost cause!

MrsBex: yay for Charlotte doing all that growing and yay for the 2mls of zantac working better at night. Certainly is better than all the screaming. So typical of babies that she was good when the MW was there, I always say, Babies make liars out of all of us, you say one thing and they will do the opposite!

AFM: DS had his first day of kinder this morning, and it went really well, he was fine with us leaving him there which really surprised me since he has never been left with anyone but family (except for a disastrous attempt at occasional care when he was 2). So I'm pretty excited about that, and I got to meet more of the mums, we've had a few meet ups already and everyone seems to be really nice. yay!

Kirsten: yay to ds going well!!! Did you enjoy the time with just you and ivy? God they are both perfect looking children! You make SUCH good babies!! Haha.

So the chiro said C's tummy is all hard and god she was screaming while the chiro was pokin around! The poor darling was in pain and hated it! But she said breastmilk it's self will not cause the reflux and inflammation of her tummy, it's something I am eating.
And I forgot I had an intolerance to dairy cause while I was pregnant I could eat n drink dairy!
So now I am off dairy completely to see if that helps, nights are the worst and at night I usually have ice cream for dessert... I don't know why it didn't click before! I'm a bit dumb. Hopefully staying away from dairy helps!!! She's been screaming all arvo but is finally down now!
And o really want a toasted cheese sandwich, that's a total fail! Wheat and dairy!! Won't be having that damn it!

How is everyone else? Babyluv, how was sienna? Renee, has the devil left or is Ava still having a hard time?
    Shellyhumandummy, how is xani?

    Hey ladies,
Sorry I haven't done persies yest or today, I've had a bit of a tough time with S. I think we need to go back to the doc, her Zantac dose might need to be upped.
She was perfect yest when I visited a friend then unsettled all night and all day today.
A little bit of good news, I've got S to finally take the booby without the shields. Funny thing is she feeds for like 10 mins, sometimes less on each side and is satisfied & she hasn't needed a top up at all yet today. Maybe the shields have something to do with her not getting enough?
Sorry girls if she's better tomoz I'll do persies.
Oh & tomoz I can't make it for the catch up sorry
Hope you've all had a great day xxx

Babyluv: YAY to the sheilds getting shafted! I reckon that could have something to do with her not BF as well as she could!!! Hopefully without the shields, you might get rid of the formula top up! FX she is more settled for you!!
Could she still be unsettled due to something you are eating? I know you are off dairy, but are you off wheat too? Tomato? Onion?

New Dawn, you've really been put through the wringer haven't you?! You've got your hands full with 4 winkies, even without the drama of going through a relationship breakdown as well. I'm sure you must be one tough cookie to get through that. I would love to have come to the meet up next Thursday but I have 2 appointments including my 6 week ob check up, but I'll definitely come to the next one. It would be great to finally meet everyone! I'm only 10 minutes from the Glen as well, so pretty close to you.

Babyluv, yay to ditching the shields. The midwives got me to try them while in hospital but I didn't like using them so persisted without them. I'm still having other problems but I just didn't like having plastic between bubs and my boob. Hopefully S will keep feeding well without them.

Mrs Bexie - Ha, no more ice cream for you! You could have sorbet/gelati though? Mmmm, yum. You sound much better today too. Thanks for asking how our feeding was going, I'm still having a little bit of a problem, but things are much better. K's oral thrush has gone completely and Ijust have a little bit of nipple thrush left, and one crack has healed so I only have a cracked nipple on the left but man it kills and isn't really getting any better. i have to grin and bear it on that side, the first minute is the worstthen I can relax a little. I don't think our attachment is great sometimes but now I can't tell the difference between pain from the cracked nipple and thrush and pain from plain old bad attachment. It's definitely all going much better than a few weeks ago though! We even did our first breastfeed in public yesterday, yay!

Kirsten - woo hoo to Q loving kinder, glad there were no tears - from you or him. And I agree with Mrs B, you bake great looking kids!

Got to go, K is waking up for more dairy cow action! Hi to everyone else.
