Bex boo to no dairy! I just had choc pudding and ice-cream (it was a weight watchers pudding so i don't feel so guilty!!) Hopefully C will be more settled though. The devil left this morning and my angel came back!! She definately not like her mum and seems to be a morning person! She really doesn't want to go back down once she gets up at 6 or 7am!! She was however good the rest of the day. But it is so hot and she sweats so much god love her!!!
Sunny*girl: YAY to BF getting better!! It's good when you can tell the difference between bad attachment and other pain! Hopefully that last annoying crack will heal soon! Yay to public BF!
Renee: C is a massive sweater too!! BF today she had little beads of sweat on her forehead and her hair was wet!!! Even if she doesn't feel hot she sweats! And her bassinet is always wet where her head was. It's gross when I kiss her head and my lips get all salty!! YUCK!
I will get some gelato and some soy ice cream so I still have something, but nothing compares to lovely yummy choc and vanilla ice cream with ice magic!! At least now maybe my arse will get smaller cause I can't have any yummy naughty stuff like choc etc! haha...
Oh my gosh my baby turns into a monster when night hits. She is having another night like last night, it's only 10 but she's been unsettled for hrs. Maybe it is something I've eaten. Maybe she's not getting enough sleep during the day. Maybe she's overstimulated. I can't work her out! Grrrrr
Mine does to Babyluv! C has been pretty good all day, and now is a horror baby! Over stimulation could be it if you are keeping her awake too long, giving her too much tummy time or playtime, could be wheat or soemthing else you have eaten.. Maybe start a food diary and then the days she is really bad, look at what you ate and see if there are any similarities?
Do you wake her up to feed during the day or let her sleep?
Babyluv, when O was about 4/5 weeks old, all of a sudden she started feeding for 20 mins (less than 10min each side sometimes) and she's perfectly satisfied! It's awesome if you ask me cos BF no longer takes 1-2 hours lol! Hope she keeps it up for you Hun! I really began to enjoy BF when this change happened, hope you're the same!
MrsBex, good on you Hun for giving up ice-cream I can imagine how hard that is, I LOVE ice-cream! How was little C last night for you?
Renee, so glad to hear your angel is back and the devil baby has left, fx it stays like that!
Newdawn, yey to organising the catch up, I'm looming forward to it! Yes I do remember you (I'm about to go back & read your story), and wondered where you had got to! Sorry to here about you and xh but pleased you are back, look forward to meeting you next week!
Afm: ok block your ears all... well my little angel slept 8 hours straight last night so I am feeling very refreshed, she woke to feed at 6 and has gone back down again! I really wish I knew what we were doing so I could tell you all and you could all get great sleep!
Hope everyone is doing well, sorry I have missed so many of you again! Will try to get better next time!
Xxoo
Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!! First time spending CNY as a real family, feels very special.
Shellybean: Love the grizzly suckalorotus! I'll definitely get it checked out if it's the prawns. I'm not sure now coz DH reminded me that I've had prawns before n she was fine. Hmm.... this is so hard to figure out.
csab: You're such a trooper mum! Definitely holding in very well for what you're going through. Hopefully karitane will help you in some way. Claire sometimes vomits through her nose too and it looks like a big waterfall. Doesn't seem to distress her too much though.
Mrs Bexie: Babies are sneaky aren't they? Just like how C was feeding perfectly the first time when we went to the lactation clinic, made me feel like a fool after I was describing all these issues we had! Boo on not able to have dairy and ice cream. Maybe I should try that too and see if C settles.
Kirsten: Oohh I'll keep in mind this friend of yours, maybe when C has her first birthday we might get a cake like that for her too! Yay on Ds liking kinder. I've heard teary stories about kids going to kinder.
Babyluv: Yay on not needing the shields! I know C is very unsettled at night sometimes from being over stimulated during the day. I've read that bubs not getting enough sleep during the day is like a volcano building up and it often erupts at night causing more grieve.
Renee: I hear you on the sweaty bub. Claire's very sweaty too I almost feel like bathing her all day. Yay on the angel coming back!
Keli: Yay on getting 8 hrs of sleep! Olive is such a gem! Glad u're enjoying BF, it's such a special and beautiful thing.
DH's got the day off coz it's the first day of the Year of the Rabbit. Love the cool change that has come through. C's much happier with the cool weather and glad she's back to her old self again last night. Still nursing every 2-3 hrs all night and day but much less crying.
Caixin, can you send some of that cool weather this way. We have spent the last two nights camping out in the lounge room with the aircon on as it hasn't got below 30 at night since monday!! Insane! Being on the coast we usually get a sea breeze but not this week, it is so gross.
Keli, yay to 8hrs sleep that would be like heaven. Did u wake to make sure she was ok? It freaks me out when ava sleeps more than 5 hrs i think something must be wrong lol!!
Bbayluv & Bex hope you had good nights with S & C! Did C settle better without the dairy bex?
New dawn - I bet you are glad that school is back lol!!!! I am a school teacher and am loving not having to go back!!!
Kirsten yay for DS liking school! It makes it easier for you also when they don't get so upset! Love the pic on facebook, what a beautiful shot!!!
Shelly how is suckalotorus today!!! Ava was 3wks yesterday, i can't believe how time flies!!
Csab !! Hope things improve sweets!! It sounds like you are doing a fabulous job under the circumstances. Supermum!!!!!
Devil was back this morning, she really doesn't like sleep till about 11am (she has been up since 5!) then she crashes! Silly girl! We are going back to Dubbo (DH's family live there) tomorrow for the weekend and it feels so weird packing for someone other than myself!! It is a four hr trip so hopefully i can feed her then go and she should sleep most of the way, she loves the car! I really should go clean my house while the devil sleeps ( i have to stop calling her that!!!)
Caixin: happy new year to you! Great that your dh has the day off, love that you can spend your new year as a family
Keli: wow Olive is an angel! Where does she sleep? I was putting G in a bassinet at night and only getting 2hrs out of her and she would be hard to get back on there, but would sleep for 5hrs in our bed. So I finally thought to try her in the cot in her own room as it's more like our bed and she sleeps way better in there!!!
New dawn: aww I wanna go to the meetup too!!! Bit too far for me tho lol.
Kirsten: mmm how could you stop at just a tiny bit of that cake! Sounds delicious... And I agree with the others, you make such adorable kids! I don't know how you get anything done during the day, I would waste so much time just looking at them!
Bex, Babyluv: any luck last night getting those angelic looking girls to sleep? Boo to no dairy or wheat, I've been lucky and havnt cut anything from my diet and G seems ok so far.
Sneakyshelly: how are you going with the two girls? And no more fainting?? Are you gonna try the swim nappies on Xani? Sounds like she's a tiny bit bigger than G but we passed the seal-in-poo test in the swim nappies the other day lol
Renee: 3 weeks! Wow! Lol Ava's not fat, she's healthy!!! Lol loving the pics of her too, I can't get over those eyes they're stunning!
Well my cheeky little girl Is smarter than I thought, I passed her to dh last night so I could have a shower and she screamed the whole time
And gets him all frustrated thinking I've left him with a hungry bub, as soon as I took her back she just looked at me and grinned! Like it was a huge funny game to wind him up!! Poor guy lol. She slept in her own room last night and my god what a difference! Goodbye bassinet, thats for sure!
Keli: I am jealous but I am glad that you have such a good baby!!!
Caixin: Happy chinese new year!! So if today is the start of year of the rabbit, what year are our babies born in? YAY to DH getting the day off! It's lovely they let him! yay to much less crying! It's lovely when they are quiet hey??
Renee: I call C a devil child too don't worry!! hahaha... An angel while people are around then as soon as they leave, the little horns come up and she becomes devil child! haha, At least she crashes sometime! The drive to Dubbo will hopefully be good!
Little mrs: LOL to Georgia being soo cheeky!! I can't wait for C's smiles... I am sure your heart melted when you saw it though! They are getting little personalities already!! Yay to having a good sleep in her cot! I can't be bothered getting out of bed in the middle of the night to get C out of her cot! haha.. How many times is she waking during the night?
AFM: Last night seemed to be much better! I had to fight with her from 9pm-11:30pm to go to sleep but once she did, she stayed asleep till 2:30, woke for an hour for feed etc, went back down, slept till 6:30, stayed awake for an hour then went back to sleep until 9:30 ish... so 2 x 3hr sleeps then a 2hr sleep. I was impressed with that! Today she has been pretty good, only crying when she is actually hungry. She had a bath, got dried, had a massage/moisturise and got through 2 outfit changes (trying things on to see if she fits them yet!) before getting sick of it and started crying cause she was hungry! Then my friend from Brissy was up so she came over and we went out shopping, at first she was awake and I was scared and waiting for the screaming but I picked her up and rocked her to sleep while shopping and then she stayed asleep! I think the no dairy is helping already FX! I want pizza for dinner but I am scared of the cheese... should I stay away from it even if we get gormet pizza and I peel off some of the cheese so only have a little bit?? I haven't had any other dairy since yesterday... I just really really want pizza. LOL...
Oh and C has a really bad nappy rash! It's like bubbly and her skin has peeled, I am using the Gaia skin soothing lotion which is thicker than the moisturiser and has calendula or whatever it is called, but it's not really getting better. It's not getting worse though, we changed to sensitive wipes from Aldi ones JIC they were causing it but I need a good cream or barrier cream that is natural and will get rid of this horrible nappy rash!! It doesn't seem to bother her much luckily cause she doesn't cry when wiping her bum and stuff...
Bex have you tried sudocream that is really good, curash nappy cream is good also. Yay for C sleeping last night!! They are great little spells of sleep. That is all Ava did last night, i think she was more thirsty cause it is so damn hot, 41 here today!!!!
Little_mrs it is funny how they know things already!!! Ava knows when i put her bib on it is time for food and she is only 3 wks old!!! They are very smart cookies!
We have been trying to stay cool today, 41 degrees yuck!!! They say it won't cool down till sunday arvo, what a joke!!! My baby girl smiled for DH this arvo, a real proper smile. That would be right! I'm the one who feeds, changes and takes care of her most of the time and he gets the smiles lol!!!! Hopefully i will get some tomoz. I will try and get a pic but you have to be so quick!

Kirsten, I hear you on the sore nipples & back! Oh and arms from my monster sized bub Mum is not good, she seems really negative and scattered. She keeps doing random things like putting the milk in the cupboard and doing the washing with no washing powder, and she had a meltdown because the bumper pads she made are a little big and told me to sell the whole lot or throw it away! So random as I really wanted the set thats why I got her to make it!! I'm really at a loss as to what to say and do and TBH I'm really tired and have my own issues. Gosh that sounds selfish!
Bex, bahaha I am so a human dummy. I hear you on the pizza, we usually have pizza night on Saturdays and make our own but it's not going to be the same without Mozarella!! Yay for lil C being more settled. Try going without wipes hun it should help with the rash, Or Tui Bee Balme is an awesome barrier cream but it's an NZ thing so not sure if you'll find it here, you can buy it online from HealthPost and they will send it here.
Babyluv, yay to no shields!! Hope you are having a better night with S tonight :hugs:
New Dawn, wow hun, you sure have been through a lot! Hoping you have a way better 2011
Keli, hun you really need to figure out why lil O is such an angel and sell us all the recipe Loved the FB pic of her winking with her cheeky smile
Caixin, Happy Chinese NY to you too. Haha, the whole parenting thing is a bit like that hey? It's like a rollercoaster ride in the dark Yay for a cool change, wish we had one this humidity is killer.
Little_mrs, my 2 girls are great!! N is so cute with Xani, a real lil mum. She does get jealous sometimes so we've got to be careful that she gets our time too. DH is being left alone with Xani for an hour on Saturday so N & I can go to Max Brenners for Hot Choc (well a soy something choc free for me ) Not as much fainting so that's a big improvement. Yup I tried one yesterday, it was a bit big but did the job. Good to know they passed the all important poop test I'm still hunting for reusable ones. Haha, go G, she sounds like a lil mischief already!
Renee, suckaloterus was a lil suckalot today! I tried and failed miserably to get her to have more than 20mins sleep at a time! She is obviously destined to be a catnapper! The MCHN told me to continue trying to resettle for 15mins but not to be concerned if she doesn't since she has good night sleeps and is usually happily awake. Did you have a devil or an angel today??
AFM
Took Xani to the MCHN today for weigh in and the lil piglet is up to 5500g So thats 375g up on last week, all that sucking is going straight to her rolls lol. I posted the link to her newborn shots on FB if you want to look, she's pretty cute in her sleepy, rollyness.
Ohh thanks everyone, Im not doing too bad. I actually havent cried for about 4days so thats something. Have come close though. lol. Trying to keep myself busy so that helps. Well busy than usual anyway. Here I am the mum of 6, and you are all trying to make me feel better. Definately by no means am I a supermum, just do what i have too. (thanks for thinking I am)
Karitane is coming around again today to bring a breast pump (I have one, and its madela swing) yet she wants me to try theirs and see if it helps expressing more milk out, so we will see if that works. She is also bringing a nipple shield around in the hopes that it helps with BFing Chloe. She saw for herself how Chloe reacts to the BB's, with just a horrible cry.
I also recieved my baby ergo sport yesterday a nice black and white one, I thought it would be more difficult to use but quite simple even with the infant insert. Funny thing though is V wants to be in it, lol. She didnt want me to take her out of it. Funny little thing. Also ended up buying the first years wedge with positioner yesterday and Chloe seemed to like it, but her sleep again after she has her first 4hrs sleep for the night goes haywire again. Hoping its a growth spurt happening there.
Bex - Throughout my many yrs of being a mum, heres a tip. Use sudocream and then put some curerash powder over the top of it. You will notice a difference. Helps everytime. Try it.
I dont have much time on here right now to post to everyone, so I am sorry (seem to be full of sorries dont I) I really am trying to get everything sorted here first, so I can hopefully get a better chance at responding to everyone. Slowly working through everything. With anyluck will feel sane soon.
Hope all you mummies that are having a hard time are ok. Im thinking of you. hugs
Little mrs- Its funny isnt it, Chloe is similar, will sleep so sound next to me in our bed, yet still not for hours. However its the onyl chance i get to have a good sleep is have her next to me at times.
Keli - Yay on a wonderful little bub you have there. Out of all of my 6, 5 of them would sleep all night long, and from the first night at being born they slept 6hours. So I did have it pretty easy with all of mine. Now it is my turn to have a pretty unsettled bub, yet as I mentioned previously, if we didnt have the trouble we did, I think I wouldnt have the trouble i do now with her.
Anyway I better go, the tribe is waiting. Hugs all.
Renee: I'll try n send some cool vibes your way though it's a humid one. I think babies must love to stay awake then crash, mine does that too in the morning. If only they listened to us then they wouldn't be so grumpy. C likes to smile for DH too, hope you get one from her soon!
Little mrs: Yay to G sleeping better in her own cot. Does she sleep in her cot during the day too now? I find C sleeps better in her cot too and we have her cot in our room but during the day I sleep her downstairs in the hammock and she doesn't sleep for as long. But I can't have her sleeping upstairs on her own during the day too hard to get anything done. Cute how G grinned the moment you took her. LOL
Mrs Bexie: Our babies are all born in the year of the Tiger. Tigers are leaders and independent babies. I think it's true by how they are leading us already, wanting things done their way. :P Yay to getting good sleeps, I think they are pretty nice long stretches of sleep. Ouch to the nappy rash! I would ditch the wipes and use cotton wool and water instead. I find C's bottom better without the wipes. Sudocream is great I've heard.
Shellybean: Love the idea of you going down to Max Brenner with ur kid. I remember when I visited a friend who had a 4 year old and a baby she always asked me to bring a gift for the 4 yr old if I was getting something for the baby so he wouldn't feel left out. Yay on the great weight gain, she's definitely stacking on the rolls with the sucking!
csab: I love my ergo. Sounds like you'll be getting plenty of use out of it with V liking it too! Hoping you start to get some BF action with help from Karitane.
Claire woke me up this morning with very loud and persistent crying but the moment I called out her name she turned around and gave me the sweetest smile... TWICE! I shall forgive her for the sleepless night last night. Still waking up every 2 hours to feed her, not sure why but surely she can't be having growth spurt after growth spurt to want to feed every 2 hrs?! We went for an hour walk this morning to Coles and back and she fell asleep in the pram. Wouldn't mind doing more walking if she was this good everytime. Hope everyone's enjoying their little bubbas today.
Caixin, PK feeds every two hrs at night too, I think our milk supply is weaker at night or of lesser quality( sp?) so they need more feeds iykwim Happy New year for yesterday, I am hoping to head into the city with my sister on sunday to check it all out but only if the weather improves some...
Mrs B DS1 had shocking nappy rash, so I had to ditch normal wipes and just brought kitchen wipes and cut them up and used water, soducream is great but it wasnt around 10yrs ago so I used zink cream to put a barrier on his bum... air it out as much as you can too...
csab fingers crossed you get your milk going now... dont know how you are doing it, its hard enough BF with older kids around to look after let alone trying to express as well... My hat goes of to you my friend...
Little Mrs the NTs not that far where abouts in the NT are you, I lived in Darwin, have also been to Alice and Ulru, I love the NT it gets under you skin that place, I would love to go back one day...
shellybean, PK gets weighed next week... he is getting quite a few rolls on his little legs and is almost out of his new born nappies so it will be interesting to see how much he has put on... Oh and he is getting too tall for his 0000 jump suits my baby isnt a new born any more, where is the time going.... Thanks I hope 2011 is a better year, cant really be worse can it..
AFM I have almost finished sanding back and staining my dining table and chairs, now I just need to find two more dining chairs so I can have a set of 6 fingers crossed it will be all done and look lovely before you all come over on thursday...
PK is still wonderful little man, whome I love to the moon and back, I truely think he has been sent to me by a higher power to rescue me from dark place that I could so easily slip... But just looking at him seeing him smile brings a smile to my face poor man I just want to eat him....
OMG I am watching the view about bulling making me cry my DS1 has been bullied at school all last year its heart breaking to know you child is been bullied and there isnt anything you can do to help...
Hi ladies,
I haven't really been on much the past few days, S has been really demanding & really unsettled.
I'll try and catch up.
MrsBexie: How is Charlotte today? Is her nappy rash getting any better?
NewDawn: Sounds like you've been very busy, I don't know how you have time to do it all, you're superwoman! You're post about how much you love PK made me teary, I never knew I could love another person so much. They really are such miracles! Did the school do anything about your ds bullies? Grrr bullying makes me' so mad, my brother has depression because he was bullied so badly!
Caixin: well done on your nice big walk
Their smiles make it all worth it hey? I had such a rough night with S & today she has been giving me' so many smiles, she melts my heart!
Csab: you are a supermum! Yay on getting your ergo sport, I have the sport & I love it. It def gets a workout and it's light and comfy
I know I've missed heaps, sorry girls it's been a bit tough.
Maybe I should try My little birdy in her cot since you girls are having success with that, I'll try nearly anything to help her settle.
Not much to say here, I've been down a bit the last cpl days, the tiredness & frustration of not knowing how to help her takes it's toll.
I havent been away, ive been here reading everyones posts. I havent been able to reply as i feel very guilty and have been very upset since two nights ago.
I was reading a phamplet thing from the MCHN about common injuries, and thought how the heck can you drop your baby!
later on in the evening Liam had been unsettled all afternoon and had not slept, i was so worn out, we were on the couch and ready for bed and the news came on about the Cyclones so i stayed up to watch, he had just fallen asleep and i dozed off it wouldnt have even been 10 minutes, i must have rolled over as he fell on the floor, he let out a big cry and i quickly cuddled him and settled him and he went straight back to sleep.
I was in tears, i feel so guilty, i rang the mchn and was on hold for nearly 10 mins, and didnt know if i should ring 000 so i rang my MIL and she drove straight over, she gave him a quick look over as she is a nurse and she said everything is fine, she gave me a long hug as i was balling my eyes out.
Hubby came home and asked me what was wrong as he could see my eyes were so red, i told him what happened, and he gave me a cuddle and told me that babies were designed for new mums for them to make mistakes and told me he had elbowed liam the other day in bed!!!!!
I was so scared i had hurt him, he is alert and everything is fine with him but i still feel so terrible and refuse to be on the couch with him, despite us having very low couches i am super scared that it may happen again My chest hurts so much just thinking about it.
I just needed to let it out, i know youre all going to think how horrible i am
I have a few questions though, how much tummy time is everyone doing with their babies?
and is anyone elses babies getting pimples? and is one else finding that the johnsons bath products to be drying out their babies skins? I find it to be drying out L Scalp.
babyluv i really feel for you with the sleep deprivation with S, maybe try to cut out the wheat and dairy and see if S settles?
Happy Chinese new year Caixlin!
Bex, how did you go eating the pizza?
new dawn, i admire all of your strength, you sure are supermum!!
Kaylee why would we judge you we are here to support you, apart from anything else we will all post this same post soon enough believe it or not at some stage we will all do the same thing, I have done it too all 3 of my winkies so far and I am sure it will happen to PK soon enough, babies are much tuffer than we give them credit for, listen to you DH sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders... Give your self a break, you are a mum we are not perfect and there will be meny times we do things that make our hearts drop... so please dont think your on your own... it could be me next saying the same thing, I remember when DS1 feel of the bed I cried way more than he did... and Poor DD2 well lets see when she was about 3 weeks old her 3 year old sister tried to " jump " over her only to land on her head She cried more than the baby did, then there were all the time dd2 big brother ( he was 6 at the time )would try carry her too me if she was crying and quite a few times triped over and landed on top of her... she has lived to tell the tales well if she remember she would, at least now when she is older and someone says did someone drop you on the head as a child she can say yes my brother lol
I said to my sister when she had her 1st your not a real mother until the fall of something so I would like to be the 1st to welcome you to MOTHERHOOD ... and yes she too has had her ds fall from the couch and the bed too I think
pimples YES PK has heaps, but dont squeeze them as they are call milk dots and are from our BM hormones...
PK has only had 6 baths thats right I only bath him once a week, I dont like to use much products on babies, the funny thing is everyone who holds him always comment that he still has that " baby " smell... dont want to tell them its because of my lack of cleaning him lol...
so once again dont beat yourself up about this your not on your own
