Thanks Jols and Det. I wish they werent so big. I have been going topless all night and they just feel so heavy. If it gets bad tonight I will jump in the shower and express for relief.

I am off to bed now. The guy that is supposed to take over from DP at work still hasnt turned up and he was supposed to be there 45minutes ago. Poor DP. I just feel like crying. I want him home so bad.

I hope Ashlyn sleeps until 3am now. girls.

I jinxed myself - J screamed for an hour or so at 8pm so she must have just been sleepy! She did sleep ok though and spent most of the night in her cradle so it wasn't too bad.

Jols, J was very similar - fed at 10, 1, 4 and 7 but she did go back into her cradle after all feeds post 1am. DP accidentally kneed her in the head (not hard but it did make her cry) while I was wrapping her on the bed so I was happy that she wasn't in with us last night. I don't think he has the same awareness of her being there as I do.

I'm making a sticker chart with G this weekend so that we can get her to go to bed properly too - the last 3 nights she has gone to sleep in our bed and then DP has to move her when we want to go to bed. She has a tanty at bed time, bath time, brushing teeth and brushing hair so I think I will put a column for each of these for each day of the week - it's a pain but hopefully this will make things easier!!

    Not a good night here.
DD fed at 11:00, 2:15, 4, 6,7,8,9.......arrrrhhhhh she seriously drained all my milk. She would take herself off and I'd put her back on to make sure she'd finish and then I'd burp her and she would start looking around again for my nipple.
Should I just have ignored her wanting to feed so much? I finally got her to sleep just 20 minutes ago. She is prob going to sleep all day now!!!!

Nai-that is great that DD2 slept in her cradle most of the night. The reward chart sounds like a great idea. DD1 is at a good age where an incentive chart would work for her.

JOls- That pre-dawn part if the killer. DD also seems to sleep better when there is noise and maybe night time is just to quiet???

Oh our toddlers all sound the same atm!

E thought it was party time last night. Fed at 11:30, then 2:30, 4, 5, 6. She just wouldn't settle after the 2:30 feed. I could hear her grunting away in her room, then howling!! Turned out she had wet through, so changed her then fed her again. She just wouldn't settle though so she slept with us from 5 onwards. Now she has been asleep since 7. I am about to go and wake her up. I wish she would do the long block over night. J is at MIL, and although E was up a lot of the night, I am just not that tired. Managing a newborn seems so much easier than a defiant 2.5 year old!

Ali - you are only 5 days post bub. I swear give your boobs another 24 to 48 hours and they will start feeling much more comfy.

AJP - Sounds like a busy niht at your house. Can DD go and have an overnight holiday with someone to give you a break?

We actually had decent night, got her to sleep by 10pm, so I got to sleep decent hour and fed 12:30, 3:30 and 6:50, plus settling time alot less. I found rolling her on her side and patting her back helped and also had her on slight angle to sleep instead flat and that helped.

Meg- yeah toddlers can be exhausting! We've been slack and using alot tv with ours just helps get thru day.

Ali - sounds normal for her age. Your milk is coming in properly and she is feeding lots to help it come in fully and to get back to her birth weight and start gaining. The first 2 weeks are pretty much feed feed feed in my experience. So I would say feed her as she demands - she will soon settle down a bit.

arrrhhhh its raining here in melbourne!!! love it!!
nai im thinking of doing the same thing with the sticker chart for sophie might get some cardboard today, it must be a newborn/toddler thing were all having!
millie has cluster fed this morning shes so much more alert now.
millie actually settles better during the night, likes to suck her hands through the wrap to get to sleep and calls out, but when i go to her she;s asleep!! must just be her way of self settling

ali they love to suck so maybe its comfort rather than feeding that she's doing

meg sophie doenst sleep well at other places, something we found out the night millie was born~!~

shell sounds like your night was the good one out of the group!!
