kazz- so sorry about your nan. yep definately they would be doing their taperstry's together and knitting!!! hugs hun
survived the zoo- kids were awesome- Levi even stayed awake for 3 hours whilst we were there to take it all in. They loved it. We were there for 5 hours!!!
off to do paperwork
mwah
Kaz- you poor thing. It is a big adjustment when DP goes back to work but you will get used to it. If you are struggling though call out for some help from friends or family. I am sure he wishes he was home with you and Master J. Good to hear that the nipple isnt hurting as much. Our bodies jsut do strange things sometimes dont they. I hope the emectric pump makes it easier and quicker for you to express. I am so sory about your Nan. That is a great age to live until but the loss of someone still hurts so much. Maybe yours and Det's Nan's will be looking over Milana and giving her cuddles for us. Det- Your day at the zoo sounds great. I think you should write a book about how to be a chilled out, relaxed mum! You are super woman and now doing paperwork! Make sure you are getting some rest as well though. I am sorry about your nan passing as well. I hope today helped the twins and took their minds off the death of their great nan. How do you know what "type" of child yours in in regards to rainbow & crystal, etc? Just curious as I have heard my cousin refer to her little girl as a rainbow child as well. Tarkine- how are the natives tonight? Mine is asleep on a cushion on the lounge next to me. Too scared to move her in case she wakes up! We had a horrible night last night too. I felt like a zombee this morning! Nai- Looking good in your avvy hun! I love the vino in the background as well!!!! Shell- Way to go on getting out childfree! It feels a bit strange but somewhat enjoyable! Laura- I went and got some wind driops today to have on stand by! Thanks for that! Hope you have had a good day Tracey- thinking of you Megie, Holly, OP, Heaven, Jols, Ellie, Amy, Mellie - How are you girls going?
AFM- Well got through another day. Had DP home todayu which was awesome but the poor thing was asleep for most of the day as the guy that was supposed to take over last night at 11pm at work never showed up so DP had to stray and work a double shift until 7am this morning!!! I told him to tell them that he would not becoming in this arvo for tonights shift as that was ridiculous! He was so exhausted and starving after a 16hour security shift. Anyway has been nice having him home tonight. Going out for lunch tomorrow with some gf's from work and my sis is coming over to visit in the morning. So a busy day for us tomorrow.
Sorry if I have missed anyone. Have tried really hard tonight.
Hello everyone!!
Hope you all had a good Easter! We had a good time at the coast. DD was a bit cranky though, don't know what was wrong with her, and DH was really sick on Easter and in bed all day, not good. But we didn't catch it luckily.
Have discovered that DD will sleep in the Basinette during the day if I put her on her tummy. Makes me nervous but at least we have the breathing monitor. Anyone else sleeping bubs on their tummy? I don't do it at night, I'm too scared, lol.
Well, there was a house full of ppl on the w/end and I managed to breastfeed in front of them!! Am feeling a little proud of myself, I think I've got the technique worked out now, lol. Had a bit of a sore right nipple the last 2 days and I had no idea why it just hurt when she was on and was a bit red but looked the right shape and everything when she came off. So I have been extra vigilant with attachment and it seems to be ok today, not hurting. Thank God, I didn't want any more dramas!!
OMG, just when I was typing this DD laughed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's asleep, LOL, in the HAB. She made a little noise and I thought great she's waking up, and then she did a little giggle and I looked down and she had a huge smile on her face, lol, it was so cute!!! But she was still asleep, must have been dreaming of boobies, lol. She hasn't laughed yet, now I'm going to try make her when she wakes up!
Heaven- how cute with the laugh, I'm sure Em laughed once cause her whole chest was shaking like it does when you laugh and has a very strange noise and big smile! WTG with the BFing too I don't mind feeding in front of ppl but if she plays up and does the on/ off screaming I hate it. I'm too scared for tummy sleeping unless she is on me but I do put her on her side, that way she can have her knees up and help with wind pain.
Ali- Thats so crap for your DP, I hope he got paid overtime for that. We use the wind drops, they've helped a bit but not a huge difference, we really have big probs with wind.
Kaz- I hope your nana is having a fabbo time up there being able to do all the things she used to enjoy.
Going to MCHN today for weigh in, see if she can offer anymore tips to help with wind, I hate her being so unsettled and in pain.
Sounds like everyone is really busy. Det, can't believe you survived the zoo by yourself with the 3, you are super woman!
Nai and Laura, love the new avvies!
Ali, we got the birth certificate back about 2-3 weeks after posting off the info... would have been sooner but my Mum as one of the witnesses signed and dated the form as the 29th Feb instead of the 1st of March and I didn't pick up on it before I sent it off so they sent back the form and asked us all the resign with the correct dates! Oh your poor DP, that guy that didn't turn up owes him big time.
Heaven, that is ADORABLE that DD giggled! L's done that once and of course, never since, but so cute. He has only smiled a few times and very quickly.
Kaz, sorry about your nan. Good to hear your nipples are better
Shell happy birthday to your DP!! Hope you had a better night last night.
Tarkine, also hope you had a better night too.
AFM, I'm finding it all really hard atm. L is still so restless and grizzly and screaming during the night. Went to the paed yesterday and was told his reflux and heartburn is due to the way I am feeding and my really good flow! He said my flow was like a tap dripping into his mouth and he has no option but to swallow, but coz my flow is so fast he is gulping in lots of air as well...anyway so now I have to feed lying down with him lying on my tummy (tummy to tummy) so it's as if he is sucking from a straw lol. Also taking donnalix for his colic and sore belly and have a script for infant zantac if things don't improve. He was weighed as well and has gained 400g in 5 days which the paed says is too much! Ahhh I really can't wait for my happy little baby to arrive - and sleepy baby! OH what I'd do for a good 3 hour stretch of sleep
Shell- Oh yes, when she does the on/off thing it's not good, I had to retreat to my room, lol. Good luck for the weigh in, hope they can give you some tips!
Holly- OMG you just can't win, I didn't think they could put on too much weight! All I've ever heard is you can't overfeed a breastfed baby!!
Nai- Looks great!! And so are you with your new avvy btw!
Sorry for the absence - DH and I took DD down to the in law's beach house over Easter, got back last night and then I've been out and about today.
Sounds like everyone had a pretty good Easter, good to hear! I'll try to catch up...
SJ: how cute with DD giggling. Must have been a gorgeous moment
Nai: agree with SJ, looks great and love the new avvy I think I should get onto my avvy request!
Holly: you poor thing, how can they possibly be gaining too much? Sigh, just when you think that you have one thing sorted out, another crops up. Big hugs for you
I really hope the Donnalix and the new feeding position helps. I had to feed semi-reclining for a while - we are just good milk producers Sounds like you are keeping a good positive attitude hun!
Ali: that is just terrible about DH being forced to work a double shift. Hope he is recovering ok and still getting to spend time with DD.
Det and Kaz: so sorry about your nans. Even when its sort of expected, I know it can still hurt. Hope your families are all ok.
Shell: how did you go with the MCHN?
Tarkine: how is DS today? Hope you had a better night last night.
AFM - we had a mixed time down at the beach house. Isabel has been dream baby during the day - still doing her good daytime routine, but then she was absolutely rotten overnight. Would start screaming at about 7pm, then yell and yell until she was fed, then doze and scream again. Grandma couldn't believe it.
Then she wouldn't settle until midnight and would wake after only 2hrs or so. We were there for 3 nights and had hardly any sleep. I don't know if it was because she was in a new place and a new cot or what.
Had a weigh in yesterday and our 8wk check - the MCHN is worried about her favouring one side of her head and said that could be causing her unsettled periods - if she is sore in her neck then by the end of the day she would be pretty achey and unhappy. So we're off to the baby chiro as soon as they can fit us in.
On a positive note though she is doing everything an 8wk bubba should be - smiling, looking at mum, following a rattle with her eyes, moving arms and legs. So that's all good. And she's weighing in at 5.7kg now! That puts her back on the 95th percentile! She's 61cm too which is the 97th percentile!
