Meg - Huge  hun. You must be exhausted today. How did the Dr go? I would be teary too. Jacob doesn't even have to be sick, just whingey and not sleeping and I fall apart  You're doing great darl xx
AJP - I LOVE salvadore Dali! That must have been heaps good!
Holly - 1.5 hours isn't very long at all. If it makes you feel better, Jacob isn't rolling or sitting and has no teeth either  We're going to do swimming lessons but its with my mums group so I'm going for the social side as well. Not sure when we're starting but I'll let you know what it involves.
Ali - I'm not sleeping well either! So frustrating! I've been awake for hours the past couple of nights after Jacob has gone back down. Thinking of weird things. My lovely but batty next door neighbour made a comment to DP the other day about how she'd look after Jacob anytime "but you don't want me to" WTF? We haven't left him with anyone else yet, even family, why would we leave him with her? She's so nutso sometimes! But now I'm worried she'll keep pushing the issue and force me to say no and hurt her feelings. She's recently widowed but she has her own grandkids she sees nearly every day after school!! Your DP must be devastated about the cricket!
Det - So glad you got some long sleeps finally and that your DH is on the mend. It is good to put faces to names.
Shell - Hi!! Hope you're having a good weekend.
AFM - Well I feel like a nigel no friends after seeing all your profiles girls  How do you get so many friends? Great to see the pics of you and your bubbas though.
Having a slow sunday here. Jacob not sleeping well - he was awake for over 4 hours last night :o and then got so overtired it took him ages to go to sleep and then he fed every 2-3 hours. Not sure what's going on.
-
Meg- Grr at your DH, I know what thats like sometimes Df is good and takes day off and other times not good. Can your mum come over? Thats what I've had to do in the past. Tell your DH you are more important than work!
Ali- Lol, I stay away from scary movies and any movies that might upset me at bedtime! My saints playing today so will be watching soon on foxtel. Can't stand cricket, Df been watching the Ashes, I kept saying I was going for England to s..t him, lol.
AJP- I wouldn't mind seeing that exhibition, was going to go last school holidays while DF was around so I could be child free but never happened.
Holly- How is school going? No sleeping thru here either. We never enrolled Ash into swimming cause we said we could do all that ourselves but then DF who was meant to do all this rarely did. So if you know you'll definately go yourself do it otherwise try out lessons, I'm booking DF and Ash in for next term now as she is nearly 3 and he's hardly taken her in that time.
I been reading my wonder weeks book and yep Emily is doing all the things mentioned. Apparantly can last from as little as 1 week to up to 5 weeks, so hopefully soon will settle. I have noticed a huge developmental change in her lately, just how much more aware she is of everyone and everything around her, knows what she wants.
-
Kaz- ok i found you mr potato head and sent friend request. Alot my friends are ppl off here, ppl from primary and high school or ppl I grew up in same area as, as well and friends now.
-
Shell - Was thinking of you earlier. DH was thrilled this arvo. Jumping up and down and cheering at the TV........
James still really sick. He is now afraid of the baby monitor noise, the water gurguling out of the bath, and all insects. This all started in the last few days. He cried himself to sleep on the couch this arvo. On the upside, after DH witnessed it, he took the night off work, as he has realised that he is seriously ill. The GP says it is viral. has swollen glands etcc, so no meds as they wouldn't help anyway. She also said to expect E to get it too! *sigh*
Oh dear Kaz - Hope he does better tonight.
Holly - checked out your piccies on FB. They are great.
Det - hope it wokrs out with the parents.
hmmm... what else. My comp is on a new page, so I can't remenber what eveyone else said....
-
Wow lots to catch up on!!!
I have not added anyone from BB on to my Facebook., was keeping is seperate due to all the same issues others have said, don't want family knowing I'm on here either!!
I would love to share my family pics with you guys, and you then can put a face to the name!!
Holly- Good to hear from you sorry your little man is not sleeping that well, Is he still on meds???
AJP- What an early start, would have been great, I have not been to the gallery in years, used to go all the time...
Det- Sorry to hear about your parents!! Fingers crossed you dont get GF
Kaz- Swimming lessons sound like fun....are you going to do it formally
:redface:Sorry I need to read back, tired, think I need an early night...
L is on the move, rolls every where does 360 to see what going on and can move his body to get things!!! I'm sooooo not ready for him to be on the move!!! Where's my baby who lies on the mat exaclty where I left him???? It's so unsafe once they are on the move, espically with DD small toys!!! HELP....This has all really happend in the last week..
-
Meg-- Gosh J must be really sick, sorry I was thinking of you in my last post!! Just got distratced!! I hope he picks up soon.. Glad DH stayed home!! At least you have the moral support.. so hard when they are sick like that!!!
-
pinny was a great day! wished wed taken the camera to get some pics of the girls in the park!
wow on L moving! i'll get to see thursday!!
hows is abbey??
meg hope J gets better soon and that E doesnt get sick  glad DH stayed at home today!
shell must read w/weeks book..keep forgetting!
ali 2 hours sleep isnt good  hoping for some more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's tonight for you!
kaz we started off swimming with mothergroup right up until late last year when we all changed for bub #2 reasons, now were all in seperate classes/different days!
ARM i didnt give millie any solids today due to her waking twice a night since we started, going to try pumpkin tomorrow though
-
Meg - I hope J is feeling better soon and E doesn't get it! Good to hear your DH is taking the night off too.
Hi to everyone - sorry for lack of personals - had a very busy day as we are going to VCAT on Tuesday to fight a development at the end of our street. We also did a photoshoot with the girls today - some pics on FB. Miss J isn't wanting to go to sleep tonight *sigh*
-
gorgeous pics nai!! i took some pics of millie today too!
pinny i know what you look like
-
Meg- that sucks, just keep up whatever drugs you can give him. Hope E doesn't get it either. If its a viral thing hopefully won't last too long. I'm glad your DH has taken night off, you really don't want to be on your own again with him like that. I am so devastated at footy! Can't believe it, if we don't even make it to grand final after all this I will cry my eyes out.
Pinny- Thats what I'm worried about, all DD1 little toys laying around I'm happy to wait for her to move gonna mean trouble. I'm thinking when she is moving I might pull out the play pen for times when I'm cleaning or cooking or something. I've already started telling DD1 how E can't play with really little toys.
Nai- The pics are gorgeous. Does J have blue eyes? Just looking from the pics cause G has such dark eyes.
DF been his usually waste of space on a hangover sunday, had friends over to watch footy so that was nice tho we all are very upset by our loss again. Emily still not sleeping much in the day and every night I'm hoping we have a better night than the last.
But today she has been rolling heaps. She keeps rolling onto her tummy and trying really hard to move so hoping this development means her sleep will improve.
-
Thanks Shell - yeah G has dark brown eyes and J has blue eyes. I hope they stay that way.
-
Shell, do you think saints are getting cold feet??!?!?!?! Last 2 games have been close at least. Uni is going pretty crap atm! Thanks for asking lol. Just really behind...
Nai, I accepted your friend request on FB - your girls are gorgeous! Good luck fighting the development down your street. I'm so sick of these money hungry developers coming into suburban streets and building up. We had apartments built not long ago at the top of our already grossly congested street and they want to build more opposite the ones already there  We are 2 streets away from a train station so it makes it worse... so many people park down the street to use the trains. Anyway, all the best!!
Ali, I can't watch scary movies! I would be up all night too. Glad Ash is having some decent sleeps.
Kaz, as soon as I type that L isn't rolling, he rolls! And not just once either...he got the hang of it straight away lol. I think it was because I had him in sposies yesterday so he didn't have a huge wombat bum to try and manoever!! I think boys are always a little slower than girls anyway (and that continues right through to old age) ;)
Megie, I hope J recovers today and that E doesn't get sick  You seem to be coping so well! I'm a mess when L is sick...just a nervous wreck.
Pinny, wow L will be crawling soon! I know my youngest sister was walking at 10 months...geez that's only 4 months away! I'm sooo not ready for my L to be mobile!
I forgot to mention, we have stopped giving L his meds as I didn't think it was making a difference and was just a pita more than anything. So far he hasn't gotten any worse! We are going to see his specialist at the Childrens' tomorrow so we'll see what he says.
Thanks for the info re swimming. I think I better enrol him as it is just like me to "commit" to doing it myself but never follow through!
Anyway, better run, L is coughing up a lung - has been coughing for a couple of days now
-
I've been thinking about Tracey a lot lately. Anyone else? I wonder how she is going all the time.
I think yesterday would have been Milana's 6 month birthday. :( I hope she is looking down on her mum.
-
Kaz- I don't know Tracy or the circumstances, but my heart goes out to her!! Must be really hard...I'm sure she is looking down on her mum!!
-
also thinking of you tracey  we love to hear from you if your lurking.
millie had some pumpkin yesterday which was fine, then was up for 2 hours during the night  woke at 1.30am for a feed and didnt go back to sleep til 3.30am, not crying or anything, just screeching etc.. seemed happy though i wasnt, i refed her at 3.15am and she went back to sleep, she then woke at 6.30am,very tired today
i doubt it has anything to do with the pumpkin but it does coincide with the commencement of solids!
sara how did grace go last night?
-
We had our first decent night in ages, woke at 3 for feed, chatted and squealed for only 15mins after which is good for her. Tho cause I'm used to crappy sleeps couldn't get back to sleep til 5. I just hope she keeps this up!
AJP- Its hard to know isn't it, I didn't know if Emily was playing up from solids or just because the whole 6 month development phase. Hopefully she settles.
I often think about Tracey too, wonder how they're all going, that poem she'd written for Milana in another thread was beautiful.
Holly- wouldn't surprise me saints getting cold feet, would be typical thing for them to do! I'm so stressed now, I will be devastated, its more than a game to me! Hopefully you'll catch up with school soon, if L gives you a chance to study!
Let us know how the appt goes with the specalist, is this the ENT specialist?
I have to go thru the bag of Ash's old size 0 clothes cause Em is heading up that way. I tell you its soooo handy being able to reuse clothes, thinking how many sizes they go thru in their first year, saved me so much. Only down side was opposite seasons, have all these cute 00 summer clothes but by summer she may not fit, suppose won't matter being bit small if its hot.
-
We too had a crap night, wanted to be feed nearly every 3 hours!!
But I discovered L got his first tooth yesterday, so maybe just needed some extra TLC to help celebrate!!!
We tries pumpkin yesterday and he LOVED it, almost smiling whilst eating!! I'm sure he was thinking "About time Mum"...
Hope all is well, with everyone...
Big Hug Jols, hope you get some rest today..it's so hard not to feel tired!!
-
it must be a developmental thing
shell glad you had a better night, i think ive just been spoilt in the past!!
woohoooo lewis! yay on the toothypeg, millie quiet liked the pumpkin too! looking forward to thursday~!
-
Holly- DD is loving fruit now, especially watermelon, she's getting into it. Apparently there's less chance of choking with BLS actually, because they're controlling it themselves or something? If you google it there's heaps of information and videos on youtube. I'm going to put a video up off DD eating on FB. Ugh, I feel like I have a permanent newborn too with the sleeping!! So tiring!
Jols- Ooh that sounds great about the swimming. Maybe I'll start. They start at 6 months here. It would be fun anyway! Although it freaks me out coz no doubt she'll try drink the water and some kid probably peed in it! pmsl. Grace went ok last night, getting her to sleep the first time was the hardest, I hope it gets easier but I guess it will get worse before it gets better!
Ali- No more scary movies!! I can't watch them either.
Kaz- lol, most of my FB friends are ppl from school I don't even talk to but want to snoop and see what they're up to, pmsl.
Shell- oh great, it can last 5 wks and it just has to happen to me!! Well I hope it's a phase anyway coz I'm bloody well over it!!
Meg- Oh, poor James, hope he's feeling better!
Pinny- I'm not ready either!! DD is rolling everywhere, I turn my back and she's somewhere completely different and I have no idea how she got there!
Nai- Those photos are so nice!!!!!!! Beautiful girls!
:hello: anyone I've missed, gtg DD getting cranky now, just when I thought I had time to post!
Am trying to change the sleeping problem, wrote a thread about it. Hopefully I can be persistent!
-
hi girls, I'm back.. finally got my new laptop, have got to dash and pick up DH, promise to catch up on personals
-
Evening ladies
We've had a tiring few days/nights... charity auction on Sat that we helped organise/run, raised 32k, not a bad effort! Then DD's christening on Sun, massive day and night, lunch for 45ish people (haven't counted yet the exact number) then noticed DD's ear was a bit weepy... off to the doc this morning, cancelled swimming, outer ear infection!
Thankfully not middle ear (the bad kind where the ear drum can rupture) but apparently v. uncommon in 6mth olds! Doc had to ring an ENT specialist to find out what antibiotics to prescribe.
DD has been a sweetheart tho - not too upset until tonight. Have dosed her up on panadol and put her down. Think we might just keep the panadol going tonight... hopefully get better rest than last night.
Tarkine - hi!!!! Welcome back. You have been missed.
Heaven- found you on FB! Added you in. Will try and find your other thread and see if I can help.
Jols, hope you have a better night tonight!
Pinny - yay on the tooth! No teeth here...
Shell - DD has been in size zero since we came back from Cairns. She's even fitting the zero pants in length now, has had a big growth spurt!
Holly- you're sounding pretty chirpy, hope everything is going well for you, as well as can be expected anyway! How did you go with the specialist today?
Nai - saw the VCAT thing on FB, doesn't look like it went your way, sorry about that.
Ali - hope your little champ keeps up the good sleeping!
Better run help DH with dinner... he has given me a bit of "down" time after pretty much cuddling DD all day but I feel guilty about not helping.
Hugs to all, here's hoping we all get a better night tonight.
-
Kaz - yep I think frequently about Tracey and Milana.
OP - wow! you have been busy!
Sorry am tired and a slacker. We've had the flu for the last three weeks (not swine flu - DH got tested). Have had SIL over and I co-slept with Alex for two nights and we were both over it by the third night!
Anyone got anything planned for father's day?
DH is going to have a rough time this year. His dad died 5 days after, so its going to be really hard for him. First year always is. Shellbell, I'm thinking about your DP and your FIL.
Alex is rolling, changing direction and rolling some more, he is sitting but no teeth.
:grouphug: to ya all
-
Jus ta quickie will be back later
But just thought I would tell you DD's sleep has turned to mud after 4 nights of going really well. We are back to 3hrly the cheeky monkey! Last night I co-slept with her fro 2:30am as I was just too tired. DIdnt even hear her crying  DP bought her in and he slept on a mattress on the floor of her room.
Also we havent seen a poo for about 4 days! I thought she would poo more now having solids. She is having fruit and veges everyday (not any rice cereal). Any ideas if tis is normal or what I should do?
-
Sorry about the lack of sleep Ali. Hopefully it will return to how it was soon.
Tarkine - Fathers day may be tough, but also nicce as he has his own little family to share it with,
Sorry can't really type much atm. I am having a really rough time, and not coping well. (J not E)
-
Hi Everyone - sorry i have been MIA for the past few days, it's been hectic! I had to go in to work on Monday for a few hours. Then yesterday we had to go to VCAT to fight the development up the street from us. Unfortunately it doesn't look good and the development will get approved - 4 appartment style dwellings on a piece of land the size of a handkerchief. Oh well at least we tried! Miss J has been sleeping poorly - until last night when she slept 7pm - 7.30am! I thought her top teeth may have been annoying her but I'm not so sure now.
Kaz - I think of Tracey and Milana almost daily. I wonder how she is going and I am sure Milana is looking down on her and also all our bubs.
Holly - maybe take L to the pool a couple of times for a very quick swim and see how his skin goes with the chlorine before enrolling him. If it really flares up you may need to look at barrier creams etc and work out what works for him before taking him to lessons.
Jols - I think we are all around the 26 week Wonder Week which does say that sleeping can be an issue! I know Miss J has suddenly decided that instead off going down for a sleep or nap she would much prefer to kick around the cot and squeal to herself!!
Pinny - It's great when they love the food you give them. Pumpkin must be so yummy for them Miss J made the same face - as if to say 'why haven't you given me THIS before?' it's so cute.
OP - Wow you are one busy woman!! I'm organising our Childcare Trivia Night for next Friday - I had better get cracking on the questions! DP is going to be the Quiz Master. It should be a good night.
Ali - 4 days is a fair while. She may be not sleeping if she is constipated - is she grunting or straining at all? Maybe try just giving her really watery pears for a day and see if that gets things moving for her. Banana can also make them consitpated so I only give that to Miss J every 2nd day as she will eat half a banana in one sitting!
Meg - How is J. Is he any better?
Tarkine - thanks for the reminder - better order DP's fathers day gift!
Hi to anyone I have missed!!
-
good to see you back tarkine!!! will be thinking of you and DF on fathers day
ali  i hope your nights improve again, not sure about the poo, maybe give her some orange vegies.
meg, is J still sick??
i took millie off solids yesterday and she slept much better! woke for a feed at 3am then slept til 8am!! willl stop them for a few weeks then try again
ETA bugger nai just saw your post...will reply soon....BBL
-
Tarkine - YAY!! Welcome back! Sorry to hear everyone's been sick tho. Be thinking of you guys on F day.
OP - Poor poppet with an ear infection. Ouch! You have been busy - hopefully you can have a quiet few days this week.
Shell - How did you go last night? We've inherited a lot of clothes for J - so much easier than having to buy everything. The stash is starting to run low now and I've had to start buying. Going for unisex colours as well as the boy stuff cause thinking about when No. 2 comes along (no plans yet!!).
AJP - How are you feeling today? How are your iron levels?
Pinny - YAY on the tooth!
Nai - That sucks about the development. At least you tried.
Ali - sorry the sleep has gone backwards. It's hard but I bet if you were to take a snapshot now, compared to a month ago, overall she would have improved. Hope you get some poo soon too  We have the opposite problem in this house atm, changing pooey nappies 1-4 times a day
Meg - darl I have no real advice (I saw your last post in your other thread). Who can you call on for support? J hasn't been well lately which could be contributing. You sound like you need some time out for yourself
Hi Heaven, Holly, and everyone else!
AFM - DS was weighed yesterday - still not 7kg and slipping down towards the 10th%ile for weight for age (height and head are still around the 50th%ile). Got a subtle hint from the CFHN that he could start solids any time from now and that might "help" him gain more weight. I actually think he's just going to be a leaner kid. He feeds about 8 times a day on average so it's not for lack of trying that he's not a chubber!!! She was raving on about rice cereal which I'm not that keen on and I asked her about BLS - she hadn't heard of it, barely let me explain it, told me she thought it sounded fine even though I wasn't asking her opinion but then documented it in his blue book like she felt she needed to cover her butt! I've just had a book on BLS arrive in the post today so I'm going to devour that. DS is only 24 weeks today and I don't think he'll be ready for a few weeks yet.
Had his 6 month shot yesterday too so he's been a bit unhappy since. Panadol is my friend ;)
-
Hello There!
Just been trying to catch up on you all, but obviously I have been MIA for far too long. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whose baby has turned into a newborn - yep Heidi is waking quite a lot in the night, every 2-3 hours there for a while. I just feed her in bed, sometimes I'll fall asleep and wake up an hour later and she's still attached! Funny really. We've started solids in the last few days but she's not really interested, makes the funniest faces like "what are you giving me this **** for?", I'm not too worried as she's only just 6 months today!
Have been thinking about Tracey and Milana also...
Right I'm off to try and catch up on you all. I'm on Facebook too if anyone wants to add me?
-
I gonna quicky sum up today. CRAPPY! and it is not about to end any time soon. E whinging in her room, and J with a cough that sound like a seal. (maybe that's why he has been so terrible - Refer to the Platinum section for an update on the worst day I have had in a very long time(
-
Hi my lovelies,
Thanks for the poo tips! We got a tiny one this arvo but it was all pasty and so stinky!!!! No sweet smelling BM poos anymore!
Nai- I just fed her half a jar of puree pear tonight to help with any poos. Thanks for that, i am sure it will help things along. Sorry you've had a stressful week. What a PITA about these units going up! Good about J sleeping through again, hope G does as well.
I too think of Tracey and Milana daily. It might be something that I enjoy with Ashlyn and then I feel that it is so unfair that Tracey isnt experiencing this now or when I feel like I am being whingy about DD not sleeping and then I have a thought that I am sure Tracey would give anything o have Milana here even if she didnt sleep through at night so I shouldnt complain. The world really isnt fair is it.
 to you Tracey if you are still here. We miss you lots and like Nai said Milana would be watching over you right now.
Amy- Great to hear from you again! Its been ages. This no sleep thing must def be a 6mth thing (although Ash isnt 6mths yet she sure is the size of one).
Kaz- Keep doing what you are doing. I have had complexes about DD's weight as she is quie big and has these massive legs on her  but the way I look at it now as not everyone can be average. There has to be the highs and there has to be the lows on the scales of percentile thingys. You are doing a great job and just introduce BLS when you guys are ready. My MCHN also had no idea about BLS.
Jols- Hope she sleeps well tonight. There are so many things that interupt this sleep thingy heY! I have still got to take DD for her 6mth jabs and I am sure her sleep will be interrupted again then as well. How did you go in the storm yesterday??
Heaven- How is your sleep routine going? it is so hard isnt it.
Tarkine- Glad you are back. Hope those nasty flu bugs leave you guys alone. For Fathers day this year I am going to pack a picnic and take the family on a mystery drive down to Sydney Harbour and we are going to have a picnic all together.
Megie- thinking of you  Wish I could do something for you but have no idea what to do. I agree with Kaz though.
OP- How has DD been the last couple of days. THese clingy days are hard arent they. You guys sound so busy. I'd love to see photos of DD's christening so put some pics up on FB :)
Shell- thanks for all your advice ont he christening stuff in my othere thread. :)
:hello: to everyone else.
AFM- No improvement on sleep last night and DD totally lost it half way trough Gymberoo today even though I was telling her that Mummy has already paid for this and she should be making use of her time there. LOL! Dont think she really cared! I have also noticed this really cute cuddling in when I carry DD now. We were at the post office today and I was holding her up near my shoulder and she tucked her head into my neck area and I just felt this amazing amount of love...So sweet. Its those moments that are priceless and what I love about being a mum.
-
Kaz - have you tasted rice cereal - yucko!! I was told that BF babies weight varies. It will depend on when J is ready for food.. you can try him on solids to see if he is interested - buy an elcheapo shower curtain and put it under the high chair and have some fun.
Ali - BF babies can go for up to 2 weeks without pooping - just wait for it to come out (there'll be a lot of it :D).
Nai - I don't know why they try and jam 4 t/houses on postage stamps... its terrible!
Meggs
Thanks for the welcome back.. I've got my new lappy and I'm happy to be able to talk to u all.
DH is showing all the signs of being depressed - he's disconnected big time from me and Alex, doesn't want to go to work etc.. to top it all of some mongrel broke into the car and tried to steal it but failed (stupid twit, the cars got an immobliser and signs all over it).
I'm tryign to get him to go to Adelaide for the 11th september (anniversary when his dad killed himself), but I'm not sure he'll go on his own... he's driving me crazy!
Sorry back for two seconds and I'm off again..
-
 Tarkine - It's good to see you back. I hope your DH is going to get through this ok. Can you go as a family to Adelaide for the 11th to be there with him? It must be really tough for him. Is there anything that you can do to make his first Fathers Day with his own little family special?
-
Tarkine, that sounds really tough  Your poor DH (and you!). Can you go with him to Adelaide?
Meg, how is J today?
Nai, that's a good idea about testing out the water and his skin first. I'll definitely be doing that! Sorry that about the development going ahead
Ali, I love those snuggle moments too! What do you do at gymbaroo?
Kaz, how is J after his shots? Let us know what the book has to say about BLS.
AJP, how did M sleep last night? Do you think having a break from solids is helping?
OP, how is I's ear? Any better? You sound like you've been very busy! Arghh we still have to organise L's christening and dedication. DP wants him christened catholic because he is but I'll be getting him dedicated to our family church (which is baptist) so if DP wants him christened as well he's going to have to organise it!
Heaven, that's great that G is going so well with solids! The last thing we want is a fussy eater.
Pinny, yay on L's tooth! Sounds like pumpkin is a sure favourite. I think we'll try it soon too.
Shell, I hope E is continuing the good sleeps! Hmm not sure what to think about the saints...I guess we'll just wait and see! I too am a big fan, I used to be fanatic actually... I remember going to the prelims against the swans a few years ago and we lost and I was bawling my eyes out - I don't think I'd cry anymore though, I'm pretty over it (them losing that is!)
AFM, we saw L's skin specialist on Tuesday. He's happy to just monitor the lump in his nose and cease medication (which I already had anyway!). We reckon that L's nose has actually grown so his breathing is much better, but the lump hasn't shrunk. He prescribed some new creams for L's eczema and itchy skin so hopefully that helps. Poor L is so itchy, expecially his face (specifically his eyes) :( We went and did a 6 month weigh in today and he's 7.960kg, so just a little shy of 8kg! I'm happy with that, although he does seem to be growing into his chub lol which I'm going to miss!
How many of you are going to TTC soon? Or in the next year? We're certainly NOT trying to lol but as L is 6 months now I'm getting a bit paranoid of accidently conceiving. How accurate is charting and going according to your cycle as a method of birth control? I've read a bit on it but it seems all too complicated. But I do not want to go back on the pill. I'm actually really tied as to when to ttc the next bub. I don't want L to be heaps older but then I keep telling myself I have to complete other goals first i.e. get my degree, dp finish his apprenticeship, buy a house (!) etc. Maybe L should just be an only child!!
-
Holly- I so remember that game, I had friends over to watch and as soon as it was over I was so upset and angry I went off to bed, lol they knew I was upset. I cried the year we lost prelim by a goal to port.
We've finished with ttc, you'll know when right time is for ttc #2, for ages I didn't want another but then got to a point where I felt ready. I'm too scared to use charting as contraception, seeing as Em was conceived first month I feel we're too fertile, lol.
Tarkine- Hugs, will your hubby consider seeing someone, maybe concillor or his GP? Is he the type of person that would be willing to talk to someone? Yeah gonna be hard for them this year, I want to try make it a really special day for Df cause I know he'll be upset tho he'll prolly try hide it.
Ali- Ash started gymbaroo around 10 months I think and we're still going she totally loves it. I think bout all the money I've given them, lol.
Meg- Hope you're having better day today. How is J behaviour? Is he unwell? Did you end up going to your mums?
NZGirl- Good to hear from you. Sounds like all our bubs are doing the same thing.
Kaz- J sounds like how Ash was and still is she was always much longer than weight. Buying pants is a pain cause she is skinny, I'm always having to buy those pants with adjustable waist. So I wouldn't worry, I was the same, some kids are just made so skinny. And do what you feel comfortable with re starting solids, some of the mchn only have info on the basics they've learnt and don't have a whole variety of different parenting styles.
Nai- That sucks, its amazing how much they fit in, my street is full of subdivisions, I live in one! PITA tho sometimes with the traffic and its a street that leads to nowhere if that makes sense so only traffic we should get is ppl in the street.
OP- How is DD?
Emily still sleeping well, touch wood, one wake up a night I can handle. She is funny, tried her with banana and she kept opening her mouth for more after each taste but then would make the funniest expression she is soooo much better with it than Ash was.

kaz not sure about the iron levels, im on a different liquid iron called spatones, still tired but think thats more lack of sleep these days!!
i think J is doing great!! remember weight will plateau around this age, id go by wet and dirty nappies, clear eyes, happy etc...
great to hear from you amy! hows the new business going?
tarkine  to you and DP, i agree maybe best to see GP and have a chat.

shell glad emily is sleeping better!!!

Tarkine- Massive  What a tough time you are going through. Dealing with a partner with depression is very hard work and stressful. I know it is hard not to take his behaviour towards you and A personally but I promise you he still loves both of you and you 2 would be the most important things in the world to him, he is jsut in a place where he cant see that right now. I hope you guys get through this.
Holly- Gymberoo at this age is getting them to work on their reflexes lots of tummy time and sensing different feelings all over their bodies, its great. Then there is their fantastic equipment when they start crawling to explore, tunnels, bridges, trampolines, swings, balls. and we dance and sing. I go with one of my friends from mums group. We have talked about the fact we want future children. Not now, but I am not taking the pill either. We havent really been DTD of late but I am worried about sing the charting method as to tell you the truth, my cycles are a bit all over the place now. I know when I am ovulating but because I dont know how long my cycle is, I am not sure how many days into my period I would be ovulating and you have to be careful those few days before ovulation as well. Sorry for the babble but I guess what I am saying is, I am as confused as you! :)
We also talked about the fact that we cant afford another child yet so maybe not for a few years, however n saying that I dont want more than 3yrs between children.
Shell- Gymberoo is expensive isnt it!!! I was thinking about starting one up as it seems quite profitable! LOL! I think they get alot more out of it once they are mobile. That is funny about the banana, DD is the same.
AFM-I dont do any solids today as I am worried about this poo thing. DD's has probably only pooed a tablespoon worth in 5 days and I can see the straining in her face when e is trying to do one and only a tiny bit comes out. SOmeone told me to try warm water?? Anyone know if that works? I just fed her pears last night so hoping that will have a cleansing effect! Had a lovely dinner out tonight with my SIL and soon to be BIL who are over from the UK and FIL. DP wasnt there as he was working but I think he thought it was lovely that I still went out with them for the night. OH and my most exciting news is I have now lost 5.1Kg in 3 wks at WW! AND I even had hot chips yesterday! Just had to be really good the rest of the week. ;)
:hello: to everyone else.
ETA- Jols- that is good M is back to sleeping through. Just the way we like it!!

woohooo on the weight loss ali!!!
stop the banana as it can constipate! yes warm water can help pass poo!! i think you cna add brown sugar to it too. maybe boil up some prunes and give her the water
-
yep we stopped banana last week. She wasnt really eating much of it jsut nawing on pieces of it then spiting chunks out! LOL!
Will give the water a go tomorrow if she will take it. Do you think just BF only will help as well?
-
One mums in my mums group used to boil prune juice with water to help and I have heard the brown sugar thing too. Yay on the weight loss.
-
hey girls!!
WHoot Ali on the weight loss- what a woman!! You GO GIRL!!! I second the brown sugar in warm water- but reckon pears works best!!! My DS1 had heaps of problems and would only go every 2-3 weeks it was hell- massage worked really well for him and also we were almost always guaranteed a nugget if we put him in jolly jumper for a bit- the pressure on his stomach would work wonders!!
Meg- hugs hun and lean on us for support!!! J might be going through a testosterone burst at the moment and it causes their brains to unwire for a bit!! He will settle down again- it just takes time- esp if he has been sick!! Plenty of down to 'earth' activities may help as well such as gardening, cooking etc- getting back to nature type of walks etc. hugs hun!!
Tarkaine- hugs hun- it must be hard with a partner in a deep hole. I guess you just have to be there for him when he needs it- take care of yourself as well hun!!
Amy- so nice to hear from you!! Glad everything is going well!! What type of business is it?
holly- glad everything is going well for L. What cream did doc prescribe for his ezcema? Boof has ezcema as well and i had to bite the bullet and get some cortisone cream for it, but its helping but not getting rid of it totally!! Open to suggestions!!!
Kaz- lets have a bonfire and burn those charts together!! According to them- boof is overweight lol! They are such crap- when i go to the health centre i get her to fill it in and dont even look at it again until one of the other mother's in MG askes me- so i have to check it so she knows- otherwise i dont give a rats!! J is doing awesome so bugger the rest!!
Nai- so sorry that the VCAT meeting didnt go well- what about getting a politican on board- some publicity ??? At least you have given it a shot!!!
OP- mwah catch you on tues!
