Far out Moose, that is so random! Everything happens for a reason I believe... of all days.. so weird, but great!!
The moose you got for Sammy isn't a lamaze toy by any chance? Winter has her moose aka Mr Moose aka Gloompty Gloompty aka Mortimer That she loves as well! It was the first thing she reached out to touch.
As for the pram... you know that woman who crashes into everything? Thats me... ran over a womans foot on the train the other week(stupid git saw me coming and didnt move) lol jeez...
Hope little Sammy gets better!
Oh and what was said about not picking up babies till they see tears??!!?! ARGH! I told MIL we were moving Winter to the cot next week and she said "oh she'll cry, but its good for her to cry it doesnt hurt them"
-
Moose: Far out - what an amazing thing to happen! Whether or not you believe in all that, to be told all that nice stuff about your baby is great :)!
I hope Sammy isn't sick or anything :crossfingers:
Jords: The DTD thing is hard to get your head around. My DH and I have once and it wasn't pleasant, but I'm thinking we might need to try again soon before I get scared off! I'm so glad my DH isn't bugging me about it. I read another girls post today, and her DF is already getting it 2-3 times a week and wants more (and she only had her baby at the end of Feb!! :o).
AFM: Well, back from my pap... fun...
I left Oliver with DH at his work while I went to the docs (he has a very friendly work place!), which was good to give DH a go looking after Oliver solo. He hasn't much cause I'm always around. It went well, though Oliver was just starting to get upset when I came to pick him up. I hoped we'd make it home without him cracking it, but no luck there... and with the crazy Friday afternoon traffic I knew it would take awhile to get home, so I pulled into a side street and fed Oliver in the car. It took awhile for him to settle, but eventually he fell asleep and we made it home in peace :). Phew!

Hey girls!!!! I haven't posted in here for so long. I keep up with the 16th-31st jan group as they were my original group, its hard enough keeping up with them let alone you girls ;)
You all seem to be doing great... I've read a few of your posts now and then when I have the time....
Ava and I are going great.... I'm really getting the hang of being a Mummy now and absolutely LOVE it. Even the sleepless nights I am not finding "as bad" anymore  first few weeks were a bit of a shock!! haha.... Ava usually feeds at 10pm ( i wake her) and then will sleep until 3 or 4am when she wants another feed. then goes down 30mins later and wakes again 7am. so i'm usualy only up once in the night.... sometimes twice.
She's been sick with her 2nd cold and cough this last 2 weeks :( so we've had some tough nights.... up every 2-3hrs like she was when she was really new!!! Oh i don't miss those nights anymore haha.....
Our breastfeeding is going well, we had a very hard start to it all, bad attachment low supply issues etc but things are really better now and I'm not having to express as much or even top her up for feeds as much anymore.... almost exclusively breastfeeding now :D
I'm sorry I dont' have time for personals but just wanted to touch base and say :hello:
Hope to post more often and keep up with you all.... xoxo mwah!

'ello ladies!
Moose: wow thats pritty cool! its always interesting to hear storys like that! has a light flickered yet?
jords: hah i am SO with you and the in-ability to stear prams! i need "L" on the forunt and back! as for letting bubs cry...darren is almost 3 months old and i STILL sleep in his room 0_o your MIL would hate me!
Sterla: woo for DH looking after oli on his own! im glad he got some time with him. i know my DH loves spending time with daz when "he's fed and happy" lol. paps a fantasic arent they? :wall: why is it us women who always get poked, proded, proped and pr!cked?
Ren: Yay your still around (in another bb grp!) glad to hear ava is doing good! after all the b/f issues you've had!
AFM: well i was right the last week = :pms: haha poor DH coped it last early thismoring he came into say goodmoring to Daz and i and i got all craky with him  plus i also had what i think was the remainder of a wisdom tooth coming in so i was not only PMS-y but kinda teetheing as well! the funniest thing? i think i prefer labour pains to period pain! as for daz well he's found his 'voice' last night and today he's been making thease burbleing sounds like "i-yayayayayayay- gah" i got it on video thisavro...i was trying *very* hard not to laugh! DH and i also picked up daz's cot last night and put it up today. he looks so much smaller in a cot! he's currently sleeping in there now...i just need to get some flanett cot sheets for him!
Does any one know if getting ones A/F back can change the breast milk? with the EBM daz seems to be fussing alot...
question - has any one else talked about when they're going to have more kids? DH i where talking about it today and i said 18months then i'd like to (for the first time LOL) try for a second bub...and he suggested i look up the BB for how to help sway it so we have a higher chance of having a girl LOL...
oo i better go...dinners here!
-
Hey girls, im still around but just working on a very big project of mine so wont be posting much for little bit.
Orson is well. Sleeping has gotten better again during the night.
-
Renstar: Great to see you still around :D. Ava is absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm so glad that b/feeding is going well for you now. It is hard enough to keep up with the BB groups, you're doing well even attempting to keep up with two! That's great that you're loving mummyhood!
Blip: How cute that Daz has found his voice! Oh, and I know what you mean about Daz looking smaller in the cot. Oliver looks teeny tiny in his cot - there's certainly room for him to grow!
Sorry, no idea whether AF can affect breast milk. It could with changes in hormone levels maybe?
DH and I have sort of talked about when we'd like the next bub. I'm thinking we might start trying after Oliver has turned 1, and we too will be hoping for a girl :).
Antheia: I'm intrigued. Hope you and Orson stay well.
AFM: Had a pretty low-key weekend. Saw my family a bit and DH saw a couple of his mates. Oliver has been a little bit fussy today, just cause he's tired I think. I left Oliver with DH while I had a shower today, and as soon as I turned off the water could hear Oliver screaming. When he gets like that absolutely no one but me can calm him down. DH handed Oliver to me and he instantly settled, which was great, but made DH feel pretty crappy :(. He wants to help so much, but Oliver is very much mummy's boy right now.
Oh, and Oliver had a stinky poo today (lovely what we talk about, huh?). Usually it doesn't really smell bad, but it did today. I'm wondering if something I ate upset his tummy a bit? Don't know.
I'm off to see a LC tomorrow about the nipple shield thing. It will be good if we can make some progress, but if we don't that's okay too as things are still going well.
I hope you lovely mummies and bubbas had a great weekend :D.
-
Sterla, Orson really only settles for me too. DH thinks Orson hates him lol poor thing. I think it is just we smell different and that's what comforts them.

Great pics Laura!
Well, Oliver and I saw a LC today, and it was really good. She was so nice and supportive, and kept mentioning how healthy and happy Oliver looks :). So, I started feeding Oliver with the nipple shield, then took it off after a little bit - and wouldn't you know it, he actually started feeding without any trouble!!! He'd never done that before! He fed for a couple of minutes without the shield before he spluttered a bit, then realised something wasn't quite right and started getting upset. We settled him and tried again, but it upset him again. The LC said this is good news, cause it means that he can actually attach without the shield... it's more just a matter continuing to try, and me really 'shaping the breast' for him.
The LC made me feel good about everything - cause she said even if the worst case scenario occurs where he can't be weaned from the nipple shield and my supply does drop - I can still feed him using the nipple shield, express and if need be, use formula top ups. I hope it doesn't come to that... but I feel confident that whatever happens, I'm doing the best I can for my baby boy :).
So... we'll see how it goes.
Oh, and in non-baby related news - my DH and I will be homeowners in 30 days! Everything has been approved and settlement is 27th May! Woot!!!
I hope everyone is doing well :).

Sterla - congrats on becoming a home owner! 2 days before my bday too ;) hehe
That's wonderful you are getting the help of an LC! They are so helpful. I would have been so lost if I hadn't hired mine. I now have a 2nd one helping us with a few small issues we still have with b.feeding ... we now and then top up DD with formula but only if i don't have enough EBM expressed ready to go. And thank you, we are very much in love with our little girl! Today she won't sleep tho so not the best day! Your little man is gorgeous! Beautiful big eyes! :D
Baby blip - you got AF back already? poor bugger! Not sure about AF affecting your milk, could you ask ABA? They would know.
:hello: everyone else!!!

Hey Girls!
How was everyone's weekend? Ours was good, had a day out sat took Winter to southbank and met up with one of my girlfriends, then sat arvo we went and DP got Bubs name tattoo'd on his ribs... its kind of nice as my best friend tatto's him- and she is Winters godmother! So it was a family affair :)
Sterla- yeah it was our 2nd go at DTD first time was urgh! My tip- lube! and not just a bit of saliva or anything lol sorry TMI :) Ah the old "scream my head off when mum leaves the room" trick! Poor Oliver- and your DP.. and you! Im sure you have never dried yourself quicker! I've been known to abandon drying myself and just latch Winter on whilst still dripping to calm her... I started going to yoga every wed night about 6 weeks ago to just to have a bit of me time and there hasn't been a week yet where I dont get in the car and she's SCREAMING.. and I feel sooo bad every time. Two weeks ago we were driving there and Winter started screaming and I made DP turn around homeward bound... I just couldnt bear to leave her. As soon as we pulled in the driveway she was sleeping-and slept for the next 2 hrs so I totally could have gone! I dont really know where Im going with this except that I know what its like when only you can calm bub at certain times...
Blip- Hahaha i love that little PMS icon- so appropriate! I think I read in another thread that AF does affect your milk flavour but I guess everyone is different...Oh how bad are wisdom teeth? Mine came through when i was 16 and I remeber the whole side of my face aching, so painful!!!
DP and I have discussed having more kids, this is going to sound crazy but I was already saying I wanted more when we were in the birth suite after Winter's birth! We already have names... yes I am insane, its true. I think we want 3 more, but we'll have one more then see how we feel and we have decided to get UTD probably when Winter is around one, but in saying that she is already almost 3 months and knowing how quick that has gone, Im so not ready to be pregnant again...I was horribly sick from 6-12 weeks too so I dont know how Im going to deal with that as well as looking after a toddler...
Antheia- Good to hear Orson is better, what are you working on??!! :)
Raver and Renstar- Hello!
So I uploaded photos and then went to view them but it said I didnt have an album??? Im not sure what the go is...
The most random thing happened on sat walking back to the car at southbank there was a couple walking toward us and I recognised the man but wasnt sure where from and then they stopped and it clicked- they went to the same antenatal class! (We did our class in one day instead of weekly so didnt really get to know anyone) We had a bit of a chat but there was an akward moment as they didnt have a baby with them so I was unsure iykwim? Turns out it was their first day out without bubs(born feb 10th if i remember correctly) so random! I know this sounds dumb but I was kind of irked as I hate the question "how does she sleep?" Its kind of like if you dont say "oh she sleeps through" its never good enough... maybe Im being paranoid??
Oh and today was the day Ive been planning for the last week- getting Winter into her cot. Its so not happening! I got some different shaped dummies as the ones we were given she spits out, and she pretty much feeds to sleep 95% of the time so I figured she would take these ones and I would be on easy street.... I fed her last night and she was aaaalmost asleep and dropped off then went to suckle so I popped the dummy in her mouth and BING wide awake! She then proceeded to play and CHEW on it untill she had drool from her shoulders to past her nipples and we had to change her! Then I tried giving her it again later on and she just smiled at me everytime I tried to put it in her mouth! "no Winter its sleepy time, not party time!!"
So anyway the co-sleeping saga continues and I am forever destined to be a human dummy.
Hope you all are having a great monday :)
-
Im too slow a typist!
So good to hear about your day with the LC Sterla! You must be getting so excited about your new place, yippee :)
-
Can't say what im working on just yet, its a surprise! But you'll all know soon enough :D
DH and I DTD for the first time last night. It was not planned in anyway and the only contraception i have is breastfeeding! Ah-Oh! I'm a bit scared incase something has happened!
-
Uh-Oh!!!! Naughty Mummy! ;) Cant wait to hear whats in the works!
-
ello my pritties!
Rainbow- the pics are cute!
Sterla- Woo for the LC. they're fantasic. im glad that things are on the up and up! sometimes all we need is a smileing face and posativeity! WOO for owning a house in 30days! bet your getting excited!
Ren- my A/F lasted two days. wtf? my body has gone MAD. i mean it. MAAAAAAAAAAAD lol
jords- haha i told DH an hour and a half after darren was born i'd do it all over again. my midwife told me "your not ment to say that yet" haha. we've got a girls name picked out but we're still trying to nut out a boys name, i love older one DH likes more modren ones (darren is an older name...but it sutes darren cus when he's upset he looks like an old man!) with the dummy thing jords, which ones are you useing? i use "happy baby" you can get 'em from safeways (woolies) or coles. they seem to stay in really well (darrens a chomper) and they're cheap too (we go though about 3 a fortnight!) as for putting winter in a cot...have you tiried putting her in but leaving your arms around her then slowly taking them away? or how about nesting? roll up a bunny rug and make it a half cercle, put another bunny rug over the top. when winter goes down she'll still feel something against her sides, KWIM?
Anthiea- OOOO i wanna know! i wanna know nooooooooow :p as for DTD, i know that as a grenral rule as long as you are still doing anight b/f ovulation shouldnt be happening...but thats a guess...
AFM: i dyed my hair *again* i didnt like the dark brown. so its now dark red! much more 'me' LOL. darrens been semi good today. he had a 'wiching hour' between 4pm and 7pm. but is alseep now hopefully untill 10! then we'll see how he goes tonight. he's been really good in his cot. he likes it. tomorrow i go and get the pap resualts wednesday is MG then thursday is LC friday is the dietition for daz. busy week for me and daz and thursday im also hopeing to cook dinner for MIL&FIL too! i better be off any whoo...DH is home :D
