Hi ladies!!I just popped in here quick to say goodbye for 3 weeks :( We leave early thursday morning and im madly packing as it is and will be cleaning and packing tomorrow so thought id say goodbye now,hope everyone stays well and i'll miss you guys heaps!!We dont get back till the 16th of August so it will be a nice time though.ok so thats that i wont do any personals because i cant read them boohoo.Take car everyone!Catch up when i get back!!

Hi Girls,
Just a quick one to say hi, probably wont be posting for a while as I have my friends hens night tonight. Night time still hell for us, DP ended up getting up with Winter this morning at 4am and watching infomercials as she would not settle. We never watch tv so it always keeps her amused when it goes on.
Tonight is the 3 week anniversary of my last good sleep, sigh. She has been sleeping in bed since 8am!! I managed to sneak out and I cant believe she is still sleeping.

Blip- Your trip to Bulla sounds sweeeeeet!!! I looove the snow, its my most favourite thing ever. Marysville must have been so full on though by the sounds of it. Isnt it weird, it was all over the news for so long and now we hear nothing of it up here anymore. Hope you and Daz are well :)

peach: aww :hug: if it is silent reflux have you tried mylanta? my MHCN told me 1ml helps (daz has had it a few times as i see it as milder then bloody zantac!) i hope it settles down for you :hug:
moose: i forgot to reply to you for about the solids for the reflux! we gave him solids after he stole some food from me! his relfux is just the same - even with solids. i've fond that he'll have soldis (hes really chowing down on sweet spud and pumkin!) he'll have that then his bottle...then maybe the next two bottles after if he dose throw up its still got bits of food in it :vomit: lol.
AFM: been quiet since we got home. did get some house work done. and listed my little blue car on carsales dot com. which makes everything so final! but we need to sell it for the $$...not much else is planned for today. heading into target to get some cute new jump sutes for daz...but thats all...
Ohh and i told DH i wated to buy a toy out of the target catolog...a 14ft trampolein! haha...he said no :( but i tried :lol:

been busy here! and its not going to stop til tuesday next week LOL. going to my old high school with the dazman to talk to years 10,11 and 12 about pregnacy/birth/life as a young mum. which should be fun! i got told by my mother and my nan "dont tell them it hurts, it'll put them off it" haha. but it'll be good. getting to show daz off to people and maybe even seeing some of the teachers from school (that i liked!) i only hope i dont run into the princeable or the vice princeable - mainly the vice due to him being a compleat and utter d!(k faced morion! but any whoo i better go hang out some washing....hope every one is having a good one!

Had my friends wedding yesterday, everyone was soooo in love with Winter, and so many people Ive never even met wanted cuddles from her, and she was stoked too! It was the most beautiful wedding Ive ever been to, it was like something out of a magazine and everyone from both families were just so friendly, and guess what? I caught the bouquet!(sp) haha I did a bit of an AFL jump over all the girls to get it :lol:

P.s DP took Winter to the docs on friday and she was actually diagnosed with reflux and she also has eczma on her tummy, argh!
peach: Woo for weddings - at mine two good friends of mine made a dash for the bouquet. one friend had a nose ring (s)...the other made a grab for it (L) (it went under a table :eyeroll) and S ended up with a blood nose thanks to L haha...aww about the eczma on winters tummy...i hope its not too ichy for her. i can empthise with her, i have so-ri-i-sus and it can get real ichy! all i can say is cotton jump sutes/singys are the best to help keep it cool...
AFM: sold the car yesterday! first girl who looked at it bought it. which is good. but sad! ohh well...ive been madly cleaning the house - i'm having a tuppawear party...with most likely just MIL, mum nan plus one mum from MG and her mum - whoes the host haha GO MEEE...i have no friends LOL

Are you still meeting up with lots of mums through the week and with your MG? Just recently I've really been craving some decent quality chat-time with other mums. I mean, I've always wanted to meet other mums, but I'm really starting to feel like I need it. I've been feeling pretty lonely lately. I just hope I get to really know some of the mums at my MG.
Blip: Wow, that's great that you're going back to your high school to talk about pregnancy and childbirth. Should be interesting. How are you with speaking in front of groups? I'd be pretty nervous!
:dance: Yay about selling your old car! You did well to sell it so quickly. We only just sold our old car about the time we moved house - we'd been trying (though not very hard) to sell it for 7 months!
How is everyone else doing?
AFM: Mmm, what have I been doing? Not a great deal really, just same old same old.
Oliver has gone back to waking up every three hours through the night, so I'm a bit tired (though nothing compared to you Peach!). The last couple of mornings Oliver has woken for a feed and then not wanted to go back to sleep. Saturday morning it was 6.30am and he wouldn't sleep. This morning he woke at 5.15am for a feed and wouldn't go back to sleep. I had a bit of a sook Saturday morning, just from lack of sleep, but this morning I made DH get up at 6.15 with Oliver so I could sleep, which I did, and it was gooooooood! :D
With the constant waking I keep thinking again that maybe he's ready for solids... but he's not feeding any more frequently through the day, so I don't think that's it. I'm so excited about starting solids... but I've set myself the 6 month goal (unless Oliver decides otherwise), so I'm going to try to stick to it.
We went on a shopping trip to Kmart today - picked Oliver up some groovy new clothes, and I bought some nice boots for $20 - much nicer than the daggy shoes I have been wearing... I've been trying to reverse out of the daggy frumpy mummy road I've been heading down :rolleyes:. Later on we went to parents for afternoon tea, and Oliver was in such a good mood! He's usually so quiet, but today he was squealing, blowing rasberries and giggling! It's so nice that my parents got to see him like that, cause Oliver is usually such a quietly observant bub around other people.
We have MG tomorrow, which I am so looking forward to - I need mummy time! Tuesday morning we have breakfast with my parents, as it's their 25 year wedding anniversary. I'm going to have to somehow drag my DH out of bed before 7am, which is no easy feat. Wednesday we're off to Rock & Rhyme, followed by Oliver's 6 month vax :(. I hope he goes okay with it - he's never been too bad, just a little grizzly.
Anyway, I better get to bed. I hope everyone is well and has had a great weekend.
OMG! Like where have i been? I never knew this was still going as i never got any email updates!
Anyway im sick with a nasty cough thats been going on for a while. Poor DH get swine flu but is fine now. Orson perforated his eardrum for the second time in 7 weeks due to really bad ear infections so he'll probably have to go see a specialist about that, poor bubba. Not sure what else to add.
Has anyone else tried solids yet? We're giving Orson some every few days or so, he seems to like it.
We're going to be selling our house and moving to QLD. Hopfully we'll be up there by September. Apparently our type of house should go quick because of the first home buyers grant that ends in September so people will be in a hurry to buy. Fingers crossed!

as for talking in fount of people - i LOVE it. did a public speaking class in years 9 and 10. it was pritty good...it was "you ask i tell, im not sugar coating anything" type talk. it was funny watching girls sqwerm when i talked about how i tore haha...
As for selling the car- i didnt think it'd sell this fast! the girl came from the other side of the city!
i SOOO get you on the frumpy -mother type look. its hard isnt it? they dont have any 'middle' groud really? its eather "young" or "mother" style isnt it?
i hope you get the mummy-chat you need. times like this i wish i lived near-er to you! i'm sure we could chat each others ears off! haha it's fun starting the soilds..mind you the poo can smell more...and even have bits of food in it LOL (i freaked when i saw orange bits...then realised it was the sweet spud LOL)

AFM: i'm going to be runninga round like a mad women today. got the tuppawear party happening today. DH took my car in for RWC - and guess what? he didnt compute i had the tuppaear party on. so FIL may have to take my liceance up and pick it up OR have my MIL come over and watch daz if its before 3. Ohh and DH warned me "the guys there might be a little sleezey" :rolleyes: thanks honey. :rolleyes: but other then that...should be a semi relaxing day haha. daz is still likeing the solids. we're giving him them every 3days now. that way we can see if he has a reaction to them. but he WONT take anything with the rice cerieal in it! he'll happily eat plain veggies but spits it out with the rice stuff in it 0_o hes too smart. and i realised next week i see the stooopid Pead. bad thing for the pead? DH wont be there. so if he says *anything* about anything i dont agree with he'll soon know about it...
Any whoo i better go daz is sounding hungry....

**update** road worthy was done. my car is as 'good as new' but they have to replay the windshield - becuase it has pitting in it 0_0 at least i can be with DH when we pick it up LOL...no pervy old men :lol:

Hope you don't mind if I join this group, I have been catching up on the posts and you all sound like such a lovely friendly group of mums and a great support for each other. As much as I love being a mum there are certainly days when you need to vent or to share their milestones and it would be great to have an avenue to do so.
Lauren is a happy baby the majority of the time who sleeps well (touch wood hopefully this will continue) and really is such a joy as long as I am not try to give her a bottle. She has silent reflux and as soon as she sees that bottle coming she just screams and screams the last few months have really been a challenge. You name it we have tried it, including spending the last 2 weeks at a residential family centre and even with all their efforts & knowledge we are no better off. We have now resorted to sneaking her milk into her food, the milk jelly seems a bit of a winner lately as long as we mix it with some fruit. She started solids early at 4.5mnths on the advice of our paed as she was not really gaining any weight with the lack of bottle drinking.
Looking forward to getting to know you all hope you don't mind that I am joining a bit late.

Peach: Aww about winter. daz has been awake most of the day too! but daddy is home now so mummy gets "half an hour of mummy time" haha. the party went well. you know whats scary? a toy that my aunt bougt her eldest (who is almost 40!!!) from tupawear - is still avalible?!? but thats pritty cool at the same time.

we've basicly sold my car. mmk? on the Ad on carsales dot com its got **currently undercontract** ALL over the add - JIC the sale falls though right? weeeeeeeeeeeeell i had some STOOOOPID women txt me at 8:30 asking if the car was forsale. i txt back "its currently under contract as per. the add. i will advise if this changes" simple but to the point (so both DH and i thought :rolleyes: ) fast forward to 11am i get a call.
Women (w) : is the car for sale still?
Me: Umm no, as per the add its currently under contract
W: what do you mean under contract?
Me: :wall: as in the buyer has put down a deposit, we're waiting on a RWC and she is waiting for finace from a bank
W: Ohh but i have the cash right now and i dont want to buy this other car im looking at with out seeing yours

That's so exciting about selling your house and moving - that's a big move to QLD! DH and I moved 5 minutes down the road and it felt like a big move, lol. I hope your house sells quickly - good luck.

AFM: Oliver was in such an awesome mood today! I took him into the bathroom when I had my shower, and afterwards when I was drying my hair I flicked my head upside down. When I flicked my head back up Oliver was giggling, so I did it again, and he's giggle every time I did it! He doesn't usually giggle unless being tickled. Then at MG today he was lying on the floor, and I was just making funny faces and noises with my mouth, and he'd giggle at me every time! So cute.
I also received some fluffy mail today! An interesting selection of 5 MCNs - a couple of fitted, a couple of pocket nappies and a snap-in-one. The worst of receiving new nappies is that you have to wash them first before you can use them :rolleyes:. I'll probably post pics of them on FB soon. Who knew nappies could be so much fun?
Oliver and I had MG this afternoon, and it was so good. I had a good chat with quite a few mums. One girl I started talking to after the official MG had finished, cause I was pretty sure I recognized her from uni - we ended up talking and talking, until we were the last ones left and a lady came in to lock up so we had to leave, lol. It felt so good to talk to other mums, and (this may seem silly to be instantly 'accepted' by the other mums. I'm so awkward meeting new people, but I felt like there really is the potential for friendship with some of these mums. We have two more official sessions before it's up to us to keep going, and I really hope it does.
Anyway, that's enough waffling on from me. I better get to bed soon actually - we have an anniversary breakfast with my parents tomorrow morning (7am). Oh, and thinking of that date... it was a year ago tomorrow that DH and I went in for our first scan and saw Oliver for the first time wriggling around! Wow, what a difference a year makes!

sorry been MIA, my goodness, it's just been insane around here the last few weeks, we basically have not stopped since the Christening. We had Xmas in July this week-end, our first overnight stay with Sam and she slept great in the portacot, so that was a relief. Geez don't know where to start so I guess I'll just give a quick update for us and attempt to catch up on personals.
Sammy has been well and still going strong on solids, on Thursday, I am going to 3 meals a day/ 3 bottles a day. She LOVES veggies, way over fruit. werid child she is! I won't complain though. We've not had any reactions since the apple either so thats really good but we've ohnly tried banana and pears. Will be buying some melons this week and see how that goes. For veges, carrots, sweet potato, avocado, peas and broccoli are all a hit! another couple week and I will be able to give her a weetbix and a finger of toast with vegemite on it. She is constantly holding her feet and putting them in her mouth. She has now got 2 small teeth at the bottom of her mouth and they are soo cute. I bought a baby toothbrush and we are going to start brushing them. She is just at such a beautiful age right now, really interactive and happy go lucky baby. Our latest routine is Get up at 7am, breakfast at 7:30am.40 minutes nap around 9am. other sleep around 12 ( usually an hour or longer depending on when she falls asleep) one more 40 minutes in the afternoon. Goes to bed at 7pm, wakes up at 4am ( feed bottle), wakes up at 6 but we are not going in anymore and she falls back asleep after 20 min and wakes up again at 7. It's going great. So nothing to report really other than she is almost crawling ( I give it a couple weeks TOPS) and that we start swimming lessons next Saturday!!! So exciting! DH will be going with her as this will be "his thing" but I am going to film and watch the first few lessons!! She is growing so fast already.
We are also heading to Melbourne Friday week for 4 days, our first family holiday...getting very excited but going to be hard not to bring Sammy's whole room with us! LOL You should have seen the amount of crap we took for ONE night! LOL the 4WD was packed.

Moose: Woo for samys first over-nighter! im glad she slept well for you! as for not packing her whole wordobe...i know the feeling! haha Ohh while your down here -if you need nappys Safeways have 2 90packs of "crawler" baby love for $50!(just incase you need some!) and this weeks weather looks like it'll be a little up and down...just expect 4 seasons in one day - and thats pritty standard melb weather!
AFM: had the cars RWC done. BLOODY D!c|< of the guy who did it. a) told my DH it'd be parked INSIDE over night. which it wasnt and b) LEFT THE WINDOW DOWN so now the car has that...'smell' of dampness! ARG. DH wasnt happy - nor am i. my poor car being left out with a window open...ITS WINTER (and jack forst ran accross the grass last night too!) but other then that we're all good here. daz had his first taste of yourt before...the look on his face - priceless! i think it was becuase it was cold LOL. Ohh and DH and i have *finely* agreed on when we're going to start TTC #2! in december! he wants a girl so i've been reading up on the gender swaying/girl diet - and its mostly things i DONT like hah...ohh the things we do for kids LOL
i better go my little oompa is awake and trying to roll over!
Moose: You're a busy, busy woman! Have you had time to sit down and have a cuppa? If not, do it now!!! :) That's great that Sammy is still going great with solids and hasn't had any more reactions. And that's great that she loves vegies - let's hope she keeps that up. Sounds like you've got a good routine going - we're still a bit all over the place here during the day, though we have a good evening routine now.
Wow, I can't believe Sammy is so close to crawling! What a clever girl she is! Oliver won't stay on his tummy long enough to be anywhere close. I put Oliver on his tummy, he rolls to his back straight away and stays there :rolleyes:.
How exciting having your first family holiday! DH and I have been talking about doing a day trip with Oliver, as we haven't been anywhere at all since he was born.
Blip: Wow about TTC#2 in December! How exciting for you! I want to try for a girl next to - I always wanted at least one of each. DH and I had the talk over the weekend, and I think we're going to try for #2 December 2010. That should give me time to finish my uni degree, and Oliver will be about the age I'd like. I find it so hard to imagine even having another bub. I mean, I'm excited about it, but being a mummy is still so new (even though I feel like I've been doing it forever) - confusing :doh:.
AFM: We had the anniversary breakfast this morning... Oliver was obliging enough to wake up at 5.45am (after being up at 4am for a feed). So, I thought I may as well get up and have a shower, so I left Oliver with DH in bed... only to come back and find that Oliver had fallen asleep - he looked so cute and little sleeping in our bed. We had a good feed (bacon, eggs, pancakes) and Oliver was in a very good mood.
Also, today Oliver went down for a nap without me having to do anything. He seemed tired, I put him down and he fell asleep! I hope it's not a one off :crossfingers:.
Ah, now he's woken up - so I better go.

sterla :i think DH would like if we waited, but he'll be 31 in november and he said he dosent want to be 'too old' as such for kids (to give you an idea his dad will be 72 in feb!) plus i guess i dont want to wait have my body 'back' then have to go though it all again, but if we dont get a BFP by the end of feb - we'll hold off kind of a brake untill june/july so birthdays arent on top of each other! that and i'm crazy and DH wont let me buy a puppy (to forfill my cluckyness haha) but i think the TTC will be more like "if it happens, it happens" type thing lol. kinda like it was with daz...
daz has been funny today - takeing half his bottle, sleeping for 15mins then the other half- then wake for an hour or so then back to sleep...could this be the 'growth spert' thing they always talk about...? lol...im just so observant arent it? :rolleyes: :p

Thought I would manage a quick post while Lauren is down for a sleep.
Sterla: I know exactly how you feel about the rolling thing. Lauren started rolling from her tummy to her back at about 14 weeks & hasn't looked back since! She has always hated her tummy time and now as soon as I put her down she just rolls straight onto her back. Has also just started rolling from back to tummy but never stays there very long, lol. I am worried she won't develop crawling skills as she is on her back so much, any ideas for helping to make her stay there??
Moose: Glad to hear Sammy did so well with her sleep-over! We are off to Cairns next week for a wedding & have bought a portacot to take with us. Hope Lauren sleeps in it OK, wonder if it is worth getting her used to it for her day sleeps before we go? I have a feeling DH & I will be packing very lightly for ourselves as our baggage quota will be taken up with all of her things, had to do 3 car trips to unpack all her stuff when I stayed at the family centre last week.
AFM: Lauren did well at Gymboree this morning, had to wake her to go though as she was still sleeping. We are moving up to Level 2 now because she has well & truly outgrown Level 1, she is far too attentive & active now. Have an appointment this arvo, will be Lauren's first trip on the train as DH needed the car today, fingers crossed she behaves herself. Better go & pack the car so we can go as soon as she wakes. BTW couldn't manage to upload a pic of Lauren onto my ticker, anyone more computer minded got any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Hope all your bubs have a good night.

AFM: had MG today. i havent felt so... :protest: for a while whiest there! one of the mums went to sleep school - and was told to basicly almost control cry as "rocking is a bad habbit" and to 'drop night feeds as they no longer need them" which annoyed me! as Daz is a formular fed bub - thus is ment to sleep better? YEAH RIGHT. umm try he took 300ml. yes 300Mml last night before bed (so he was in bed by 10pm) he still woke at 2am for another feed of 140ml! i know each to their own. but i get so worked up (even if it just in my head :rolleyes: ) about being told its 'a bad habbit' to rock your baby to sleep. i understand its all about what 'fits in' with your family...but COME ON...a baby...is a baby they need the support and the snuggles. i do put daz down fromt time to time awake in his cot...but most of the time its alseep. mind you daz proved something - i let him sleep in my arms, he woke up finished off a bottle then i put him down and slept for half an hour...but the mum who went to sleep school put her son down in the cot - went in 4 times to 'settle' her son...but i guess its what sutes each family (and im far too 'gentel' apprarintly and forming too meany 'bad habbits' lol)(i wonder if the pead will tell me no more over night feeds next week LOL...if he does..well i just told DH i'm walking out of there, after telling him to shove it up his bum haha) But other then that its been a good day. daz has worked out how to roll over (again) he did for for like 3 days about a month back and kinda stopped. well has he started up again with vengeance! he's just got to work out how to move his right arm up so he can lean on it...but he's getting there!
any whooo better go and cook some kind of food that i belive is called dinner?

Peach: How annoying about your computer! Have you tried writing your post in a word document, then copying and pasting? I do that sometimes if it's a long post.
Yvettemj: So Lauren does that too with the rolling? That's good to know. Oliver rolled from tummy to back for the first time at 3.5 months (before taking a break then starting up again, lol), but has yet to roll from back to tummy. Having said that, he's getting very close to rolling onto his side, so he might get there soon enough. That's awesome about Gymbaroo! At my Mother's Group last Monday we watched a video where the babies were at Gymbaroo, and I thought that would be nice to take Oliver to, but there aren't any centres nearby. Does Lauren enjoy it?

With the sleep stuff, the MCHN at my MG a few weeks ago basically said - it's only a sleep problem if you have a problem with it. If you rock Daz to sleep and that works fine for you, then do it - and don't feel guilty about it! I used to rock Oliver to sleep, until he got too attentive and active for me to do it (and he was just getting to darn heavy, lol). Now I generally feed him to sleep, but he is also just starting to be able to get himself off to sleep as well. And as for dropping night feeds! :o What, and let a hungry baby starve just because it happens to be the middle of the night? Just do what you've been doing and follow your mummy instinct! You're doing great :).

Sterla: Yes Lauren seems to enjoy her Gymboree, should be interesting to see what sort of activities they do with Level 2. One thing they did the other week I thought would be fun to try at home was playing with a torch, eg shining the beam on your hand from behind their head and moving it around or onto the ground in front of them during tummy time (hopefully this will help Lauren stay on her tummy! am going to give it a try) works better in a darkened room.
Blip: Totally understand your thoughts on sleeping. At the Family Centre I was at last week most of the families were there for sleep problems & the Centre was big into taking away the 'parent dependent' eg rocking or patting or 'object dependent' eg dummies, sleeping aides. I know some of the mums really found that difficult, I agree I think it is something personal & whatever works for each family. As my DH likes to say 'If it ain't broke don't fix it!'. Can't believe Daz took 300mls, wow! Couldn't get Lauren to take anything this morning, I look on in awe & jealousy when we are out at all those babies happily sucking away on their bottles. *sigh* Can't wait til she is capable of drinking from a sippy cup, then she might actually take something!
We are really lucky with Lauren I put her down awake but sleepy (with a dummy) and we still wrap her and that works for her. She is however starting to do 180 degree turns in her cot of late & all her blankets & wraps go everywhere, I go into her room in the morning and she is lying there grinning away as if to say 'look what I can do mum'. :D So am starting to think about swapping her to those sleeping bags, does anyone else use them? I ended up having to reschedule my appointment the other day, so Laurens big train adventure will have to wait for another day. We are having some Pixie photos taken this afternoon as I won a competition at the baby expo, hopefully they turn out well.

Right, I'm back.
So, we had a busy morning yesterday. Oliver and I drove DH into work, then went to Rock & Rhyme at the library. Oliver is starting to enjoy it more and more each time we go - I guess he's just becoming more aware. He mostly just likes to slobber on the instrument he gets, and look at all the other babies.
After Rock & Rhyme, DH met us and we went to the Town Hall for Oliver's 6 month vax. Oliver was pretty good - he was in a good mood before we went in, he cried when he had the needles of course, but within a few minutes he was back to his good mood again. He was fine for the rest of yesterday, until the evening when he got very grizzly. He was crying for about an hour and refusing feeds, but we gave him some panadol and I rocked him and cuddled him till he fell asleep. He woke at 10pm for a feed, went down again at 11pm, and then slept through till 5.45am - the longest sleep he and I have had in ages (and all it took was a couple of needles). He went back to sleep about 6.45am and slept for more than 2.5 hours this morning, which he never does. His body must be fighting off all those baddies. Oliver is fairly good today - quieter than normal, but not cranky, so I think we might be over the worst of it :crossfingers:.
Not much else happening - just a quiet day for us.
Yvettemj: That's funny that Lauren moves around like that in her cot. I've used a sleeping bag with Oliver, and they're good. That's great about the Pixie photos - have fun :).
sterla: its seems everything a bad habbit, but only to every one else! as for not feeding bubs, one would think thats child abuse woundnt you? i feel like saying "ok we'll give YOU (the mother/doctor/pead) X amount of food you wake up hungry and guess what? you need to go back to sleep! even if you want more tomorrow, you'll get the same becuase I know best!" wow at oli's sleeping! thats pritty good...maybe he's heading into a growth spert? i hope he keeps it up for you! and YaY about rock and rhyme. i still have imanges of him as a gangsta hahah...
Yvet: yeah, i can understand it if the mum/carer is going back to work and everything, but it buggs me that every one seems to be jumping on the boat!KWIM? as for daz and his bottle...well...thats only at night he takes that much! during the day he takes about 180-200ml and thats split in half with an hour between. (i think thats becuase of the reflux he has smaller bottles more often..) I hope the PIXIE photos turn out good! Ohh and have you tried the Nuby (i think its spelt?) sipper cup? you can get it from target for $4 (on sale, normaly $5!) and it soft and they just need to chomp on it to get it out....)
AFM: went to the shops today. and lordylordylordy did daz find his voice box! he was going "aaaaaaaaaaahuaghg" for about an hour! people looked at me funny and i smiled and said "what he's talking and im not about to shut him up!" but it was very cute! bought some more bibs for him (i now have like 40+ of them! haha) aaaaaaand thats about it. i told DH about the "no night feeds" thing from MG...he was very much like :wtf: ! i guess im too gental and think that if a baby is hungry - FEED THEM! plus i know daz will grow up one day and not need mummy snuggles (or daddy snuggles) and i also think that it'll be good for HIM when he can say "i go bed by myself mummy"... i bought daz a new sippy cup and two bottles with handles both Nuby as he's started holding his bottle. Ohh and his has gotten better - from one end of the play mat to the other! and he only spewed ONCE!
speaking of daz...i better go make up a bottle

Blip- I agree with you completely about them one day not being so keen for cuddles and having to make the most of it now. I cant get enough of cuddles form my Baybay, Ive been sneaking her into bed around 4am the last few nights too, I just love waking up next to her. Are you guys still semi- co sleeping? Have I already mentioned we have sleep school next fri? Hopefully they dont try the 'nasty' method with Winter and I :(

Yvettmj- We have been using sleeping bags for Winter since she was about 2 months old as she used to kick out of her blankies too, they are awesome just got a new one after searching everywhere from pumpkin patch for $15. Definately a good investment.

Antheia- Great to see your back, not good to hear your not well and thats awful about por Orsons eardrum:(. We started Winter on solids and she is eating up a storm. Where in qld are you guys moving? Hey what kind of cloth do you use? We have started Winter on cloth.
AFM- Its has been a buuuusy week here, woke up feeling not too well monday, so took it easy, had DP's birthday yesterday so had to finish up organising stuff for that tue, then yesterday spoilt him all day. then today we had mg in the park which was nice, Ive made really good friends with one girl in particular, so I really enjoy catching up with her as well as the others. Tmrw am actually meeting up with a girl from BB! Going to her house in the morning so that should be fun, then Mum is coming over for the afternoon, then a packed weekend so probably wont be on for a while.
As for Baybay she has 3 teeth now, is rolling constantly and actually can move around on her tummy! You leave her facing one way and she can spin to face the other way. And she is pushing up on her hands too, and sitting up! Phew! Also is having 2-3 meals a day, we are on broccoli this week and baby porridge. She eats like a pig like me :)
Things are slowly getting better with the sleeping, but she is still up at least 4-5 times a night so DP and I are tired, but its nowhere as bad as it was. She is having infant gaviscon after each meal which makes all the difference.
Oh Sterla have you started using your mcn's yet??!! I am going to order some baby beehinds when I get my tax I think. Where did you order yours from??

Peach: Hey! I don't really talk to other mums at Rock & Rhyme, but I am starting to get friendly with a few mums at my MG. We have two more sessions before it's up to us to organise. I think it will be good then, less formal and chance for more chatting :). I have sort of been using my MCNs - I have 18 now, so almost enough to go full time. I have 11 Baby Beehinds (6 hemp fitted, 4 bamboo fitted, and one minky magicalls). There is a shop in town that sells them, so I got most of mine from there, but you can order them online really easily from the Baby Beehinds website. I got my magicall from there, and it only took a few days to arrive. The bamboo fitted are softer and the most absorbent, but take longer to dry - the hemp are slightly less absorbent but are much quicker drying (which is handy for Tassie weather). Just remember you need covers for those ones, but not for the magicalls. I've got a few of other brands - I've got a couple of Itti Bittis which I really like, as they're much smaller fitting (not that much bigger than a disposable). I'm still new to it all, but am finding them to be pretty good.

AFM: Oliver is finally starting to look like he might roll from back to tummy... maybe. He's been doing it the other way for ages, but has never seemed interested in trying to roll the other way. Maybe he's not an overly active baby, cause he's doesn't seem close to crawling or anything like your bubs. He is pretty close to sitting though - he can sit for a few seconds on his own sometimes. Mostly Oliver likes standing though! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he walks before he crawls!

Peach: Yay for Winter & all her milestones, can't believe she is moving about on her tummy, clever girl! I think she might be the first one to crawl by the sounds of things! Lauren is getting much better at rolling tummy to back although her arm keeps getting stuck underneath her, she is slowly starting to work out how to move it. Its great Winter is doing so well on her solids. I would love to try Lauren on different solids but at the moment we are fairly restricted as every chance I get I have to give her formula made into jelly as she takes so little from her bottles. Lauren was born 2.65kg (5pd 12) so was very tiny to start with but is now about 6.5kg don't ask me how with the amount she takes. Sometimes I think she is like those cars that run on the smell of an oily rag, she gets one sniff of her bottle & that's all she needs!
Sterla: That's great Oli is getting close to sitting. Lauren loves standing too, she goes nuts in her jolly jumper & will happily jump around for up to 45mins at a time - great way to wear her out for nice big sleep. :)
Blip: Thanks for the tip of the Nuby cup, have been looking at them but thinking the teat might be too close to her bottle teat which she already has a bad association. Have been trying her on the Heinz baby basics range, no luck yet but will keep trying. So far she just likes grabbing the handles, not so keen to bring it up to her mouth but she will get there one day surely.....
AFM: Feel like I take one step forward & two steps back with her sometimes. She had such a better day with her bottles yesterday & now today she has hardly taken anything. Am about to try her on a dreamfeed :crossfingers: which I'm hoping she might take something at least. So far it has been 170mls for the day. :wall: Had to reschedule the Pixie photo, poor little poppet she was crying & crying, red red cheeks & lots of dribble...could be the start of her teething I think. She was so irritable this afternoon. Any tips on the best teething products to use? I know some of your bubs have already been through it. Hope you all have a good night.

Poor Orson has another ear infection and perforated ear drum. So today we got a referal to see an ENT specialist and he's now on his 3rd dose of antibiotics. Poor bubba. He'll probably need grommets.
The real estate agent is coming on Saturday to take photos of our house for our sale ad. It's all happening so quickly!
We're also going away next week for 3 weeks to QLD. However, i bought myself an iPhone so i dare say i can still keep in touch on here! Thank goodness, other wise i might get withdrawals, lol.

Blip: So with you on the cuddles and that's great that Daz can roll without spewing, I know the feeling, Sammy still get spewie and I have to wash her quilt 3 times week (at least) but she's having so much fun rolling, I figure..meh, what's a bit more washing. Your talk at school sounded like fun, I wonder whether it put off a few of the girls who possibly wanted a child early in life. How did your tupperware party go, I LOVE tupperware, I use it with Sammy ALL the time, her sippy cup is tupperware and its awesome as well as all her little bowl, etc, got them as a gift last Xmas.
Peach: Xmas in July is a tradition in my DH's family, we still celebrate Xmas ( trust me I am a Xmas FREAK) in December but its basically a family gathering and we buy a 20$ present and have a game with it, eat lots of good foods and have a few drinks...just like the real Xmas but dulled down a bit. 3 teeth on Winter eh? Sammy only got the bottom 2 but am sure there is another few coming through soon. That great that you are starting to become good friends with mum at mg, I really enjoy my mg too. As for walking, we still walk everyday but I've had to tone down a bit as both Dh and I are STILL fighting this STUPID flu, we got better and over the week-end fell back sick again. Antheia: Did DH finish up his training in the army? Poor Poor Orson, I hope he gets better soon, he hasn't had much luck poor poppet and that you also get the break you deserve but with moving houses, etc sound like you'll be a very busy mummy for a while to come. Hope the move goes well for you and that your house sells quickly. Sammy is also on 3 meals a day now and LOVES vegetables, but with Orson having ear infections, it may hurt him to swallow too
Sterla: Every time I read about Rock and Rhyme, I keep thinking I MUST check it out for Sammy, she jst loves music so much, I know she'd have a bal. Am so pleased you are having a good time at mg, it would have been a pity that after waiting for so long that you didn't get a nice group of mums. I can see your MCN is tuning into a bit of an addiction eh? lol I really wish I 'd boought them ebfore Sammy was born, maybe when we get tenants in our house, but for sure for bubba #2. As for Oli walking before crawling, my friend's DD did that, she was like a truck, she got up and walked
never crawled.
Yvette: not sure if I said welcome or not, so welcome! Lauren looks so cute and chubby! I know that when my DH was a baby he refused to drink from a bottle as well and my MIL plugged one of the hole of the sippy cup ( a tupperware one) and he drank from that, that could be a go too. Sammy drinks fine from a sippy cup at the moment, she understands it is different than drinking from a bottle. Good luck with all this, it can't be easy, is she still ok weight wise or are they categorising her as underweight for her age?
AFM, things are cruising along, we are now on 3 meals a day and it's going great still. My latest hurdle is I find that Sammy is starting to get bored with her current toys and I am running out of ideas to keep her busy. I've had a good look on the internet and got some new suggestions but I need some new materials to work with LOL! I might go check out the toys sale and pick up a couple new things like an activity board and stuff like that. We start her swimming lessons tomorrow, SO EXCITED!! I just know she will love it, as will Daddy! We've go an engagement party tomorrow arvo and sunday lunch at friends so once again, we are busy busy. Will try to post but I dare say, I'll be back on Monday

Good morning
Sorry no personal right now. Just here to have a whinge about lack of sleep :(. Oliver went down at 7.30pm last night - woke at 10pm when I went to bed, went down again at 11pm, woke up at 1.15am and then wouldn't go back to sleep until 3.45am! He wasn't grumpy or crying - just lying there in his cot blowing raspberries. I left him for ages hoping he'd just drift back off to sleep like he usually does, but he eventually started getting worked up, so I got him up, changed his nappy, tried putting him down again, and he still wouldn't sleep. Eventually I tried feeding him again, and he went off after about 2 mins! However, then he woke an hour later for a proper feed. Went down again about 5am and then my DH's alarm woke Oliver at 7am... and so far Oliver has not gone down for a nap yet today. He's not cranky thank goodness, but I know he so needs sleep (so do I!)... I really hope it was just a once off :crossfingers:. I've worked out I got a grand total of 5 hours sleep last night: 2 hours + 1 hour + 2 hours. Okay, whinge over.
Peach: wow busy little bee arent we?! hope you have a good day with the girl from BB! and no- that stupid women hasnt called. but my phone battery died...and i only *just* put it on charge winter sounds like she's powering along there! :dance:

yvet: i used the nuby cup with daz yesterday and thismoring - it feels like a bottle (the teaty part) but the flow is very, very differant. alot more comes out - so it may help that she gets more quicker (i know when daz 'out grows' the bottle teat he wont take it) so it may help that way KWIM? as for sleep school i dont know what they'll do. i can understand why they do thease things, but i also think that it can be taken a little too 'hard lined' at time. but thats just me. i guess what annoied me about it was this mother (her son was a Prem baby birthed at 29wks) is shes talking about 'not having any time to her self' and being tired waking up in the middle of the night, and that he 'needs to nap' and all of that. i think she's forgetting her baby is a HUMAN too...and humans do what they want. i hope sleep school helps you out i guess at the end of the day you do what is right for your family. i can tell you i have my opions becuase the nurse who i delt with when daz was in hospital with 'failue to thrive' did what she'd do in sleep school, and she kind of made me go VERY MUCH the other way...and i ended up telling her what i thought of it and lets just say she want at all happy with me by the time i'd finished my rant and rave at her! :rolleyes:
moose: he still spews just not as much! but the mat hes on i just baby wipe it down! its like rubber alaphbet tiles the only downer is when the spew goes between letters that arent in very well! YaY for sammy and solids! im glad its going well! as for the toys daz is only JUST starting to take an intrest in them! its been faces and clothes untill now..ohh and watching our cats! hope you have an enjoyable weekend!!
AFM: last night went to my mum and dads. ended up seeing my aunt and uncle (mums sister and her hubby) plus my nan (mum's mum) PLUS my gran (dads mum) and my other aunt and uncle (dads sister and her hubby) which was really nice as they'd (dads side) had gone to a funral for a person who was good friends with my gran (she lives about an hour and a half away) so she saw daz, she hasnt seen him since he was 2 months old! then after they left (about 8:30) i gave daz some solids, as my mum and dad have a high chair. now i *knew* it was dads, but i found out last night it was daz's grate, grate gran's high chair. which my granpa fixed up parts of for dad to use! so its been used by grans mum, gran, dad, me and daz! so its pritty specal! only thing was DH had to help me hold him as it dosent have staps (and its made of wood!) but he loved his sweet spud! and his apple he is still a little iffy on i think he liks his mash thick. and not runny! but he liked it and my mother was 'wrong' it'd help him sleep he was stil up at 3am for a feed then mummy and daddy snuggles untill DH went to work and was up at 9am. but i like our rythem. its very crusey. Oh and hopefully this weekend i'll day bub-bye to my car...its been sold...now we just have to exchange the cheqe for the car haha

Moose-Oh swimming lessons, fun!! Let us know how it all went. Hope the engagement party goes well. Winter was the same with her toys so I got her a couple of things for the next age bracket from target which is good, I even find myself giving her things that I wouldnt usually but shee is into it, like yesterday I gave her a paper bag when she was in her high chair and she loved it... sometimes its the unlikely things she is into.
Antheia- Far out, 60 mcns is insane! Have you been using them from the start? Which brands do you use? Hope you have a good time in qld. Oh how did Lily's 'super nanny' go??

Yvettmj- Thats no good Lauren wasnt well, man that sounds so hard about her bottle refusal. With Winters teeth I Give her braurs teething relief but if she is really bad I give her baby panadol but try not to give it unless really needed.
Ugh DP and his mates have just gotten back from the tavern bliiiiind so Im off to make sure they stay out of trouble and stay quiet. If Winter gets woken up I will spit the dummy. Oh poor Bub has come down with something too, her nose has been runny this afternoon and she's breathing through her mouth sorry to cut the post short,

Oh man Ive been trying to post this for like 10 mins, thank goodness I cut and pasted.
Ok so I tried to get on BB for another 3 hrs last night to post this but it wasnt working, so here I am a day later. DP is asleep on the couch and I just got Winter to sleep after 25 mins of solid crying. Gave her some panadol poor Bub. Dont know who we got sick off but she is so congested and snotty I feel so awful for her. Im giving her less solids and lots of boobie today to try and give her some antibodies.

Antheia: 60 MCNs!!! Wow. I thought you probably had a lot, but that is A LOT! :hug: Poor Orson! I hope he's feeling better with the antibiotics. Wow, that is all happening very quickly with selling your house - mind you, it does happen very quickly! The house DH and I bought was the third one we'd looked at, and the first one we'd put an offer on. We went from renters to home owners very, very quickly! Yay for the iPhone! My DH has one and loves it (sometimes I wonder if he'd like to marry it :rolleyes:). It's great having a phone with internet access - I go on BB from everywhere! :)
Moose: Definitely check out something like Rock & Rhyme in your area. Our state library does them all over the state. It's so good, cause Oliver gets to see other little people, hear the songs, and I get a chance to remind myself of all the songs I knew as a kid (and learn some new ones too). I often sing the songs I hear there. Actually, (this is for all you girls) - this is one:

For each line bump bub up and down on your knee getting progressively 'rougher', then for the hole lift bub to the ground. Oliver loves it!
Christmas in July sounds like fun! Christmas once a year just isn't enough!!!
Blip: I know, this MCN addiction comes on fast and strong! But once you see all the awesome nappies out there (and you have your DH's tax return handy *insert evil laugh here*) it's hard not to go a little crazy! Hope selling your car goes well.
AFM: I'm so excited and proud! Oliver can sit up on his own! He's sort of been doing it for a little while, but today I sat him down and he just stayed there. He can lean a bit one way and correct himself. Of course he still sometimes falls backward, occassionally forwards, but for the most part can sit there quite well. He can even reach down to pick up a toy and sit up straight again! DH and I went camera-happy and got some pics and video of him sitting too. I can't believe how quickly it happens!
Oliver had another bad night last night - this time he slept from 7.30pm - 1am which is great, but then he decided to wake up every 1.5-2 hours for the rest of the night, before deciding it was time to get up for the day at 5.30am! Oh, and then he went from 9am until 3pm without a proper sleep (he got about 10 mins). He doesn't get cranky, but you can tell he's so tired - yet he just wouldn't sleep! He's gone down now and will hopefully have a decent sleep :crossfingers:.
And lastly... we are going to start Oliver on solids tomorrow. I have finally set my mind to it, and am happy to start now - he's so close to 6 months, and I'm desperately hoping that it might help him sleep better at night!

peach: aww about winter! i hope she's feeling better now! as LOL at your DP. i always laugh at DH when he's pastared, its hard NOT to laugh at them. as for daz's sleeping i've given up the idea he'll 'sleep though' any time soon...but i love the morning snuggles too much LOL

AFM: had a quiet one this weekend car was sold yesterday, sad to see it drive off. my "igbus" was my first car after all. but we have the "kermit" (my wagon) and i love it almost as much! daz has been really good the last few days. last night DH and i tapped RAGE - it had a MJ special on. so we have over 6hrs of MJ music videos! :dance: we're happy. daz seems to like them too. i almost got a CUTE photo of him on his side watching the TV rather intently! other then that not much to report. other then i'm having a re-think about things happening IRL....but other then that all is fairly crusey in the land of Blip hope every one is having a nice weekend!

Blip: Awww, that's sad about selling your car. My DH gets quite nostalgic about his first car :) Cool about the MJ special! Glad Daz was enjoying it.
AFM: Well, we gave Oliver solids for the first time last night, and he took to it so well! We gave him some farex mixed with breast milk, and he didn't spit any back out, or even make any funny faces (which was slightly disappointing, lol). He didn't quite finish it, but had a fair bit. We're going to give him some tonight too, but we're waiting for him to wake up from a nap.
Also, DH, Oliver and I went on our first family drive today. The weather was awful, but that's okay. We drove about half an hour north, stopped for lunch, and drove back. Oliver was a good boy and slept the whole time which was good.
