Babies Born February 1st-15th 2009 #3

Hey Ladies,

Well, what a week-end, am glad its over, but only 4 more sleeps til we go to Melbourne!! WOOT WOOT!
Sammy's 1st swimming lesson was awesome, she was so good, didn't cry whatsoever and really seemed to enjoy herself. You can tell she just LOVES being in the water. She had a solid 2 hour sleep afterwards though, she was buggered after all the splashing around. Daddy has the proudest smile on his face and apparently it turned out to be a bit of a work out for him too. We also went to check the Target toy sale and bought Sammy a couple of new toys, one for the car and one Baby Einstein little keyboard thingie. Man, toys are SO EXPENSIVE...thats ridiculous. There was a Fisher Price little xylophone thingo that just rolls and does a few sounds and it was 38$ on SPECIAL!!!The engagement party was great too, it was the first time we fed Sammy some solids out of the house and no problems at all. She had her bottle and DH took her for a walk hoping she would fall asleep, well came back from the walk, she wasn't and 3 miinutes being back in the noisy pub, she was fast asleep! LOL We got home a bit after 9pm and had a few friends coming back around for a few more bevies and somehow ended up in bed at 2am!! 6am came up pretty quickly let me tell ya, we needed a few berocca's to keep us going yesterday, thankfully I drank lots of water so wasn't too hungover as well as being tired. And Lastly, we had a lunch in our friends front yard yesterday afternoon and that was lovely. I brought a big blanket for Sammy to have a roll on and we had a good time. 9pm bedtime for mummy last night! lol

Sterla: A family drive is always nice even in not so nice weather :) and YAY Oli is on solids, sounds like he was definately ready for it, you will start noticing a change in her sleep patterns, Sammy sleeps so much better now that she is on 3 meals a day...enjoy the new and oh so very smelly poo's coming your way. They are heading for another growth spurt at 6 months, so it could also be that, but I daresay that solids will definatly make a difference. Thanks for the lovely song, I love it!

Blip: aww about your car, you do always get a little attached to a certain car. I know when we sold the Starlett to get the Xtrail, it was really sad because we'd done so many road trips, camping trips, etc. too funny about the MJ special, didn't you use to listen to MJ when you were pg? Maybe that's why Daz likes it so much! AS for the sleeping through the night, well, you may also see a difference once he is fully on solids, but enjoy your morning cuddles while you can :)

Peach: LOL at DH coming home a bit ****y! and poor Winter has a cold :( If she is really snotty, I can highly recommend using the Fess little Noses saline spray and aspirator, whenever Sammy has got a slightly blocked nose, we use it and its really gentle on them and gets the snot out. Sammy doesn't even mind it anymore because she knows she will breathe better afterwards..hope she gets better soon.

Yvette: how is Lauren feeling now? Did you have a nice week-end? For Sammy's teething, I use Bonjela teething gel. I know there was some reports coming about Bonjela but it's for a different product, the baby teething gel is perfectly fine to use and I also used Children's panadol when she seems in a lot of pain or has a low fever as they sometimes get when teething. Get her some nice chew toys too.

Antheia: have fun in Qld!

Alrighty, well another busy week ahead of me, so better get started! OH I forgot to mention, I have been attacked on 3 seperate occasions by a magpie on my daily walk last week, basically there are 2 entrances/exits of my building I cannot use cause the Magpie swoops me..STUPID BIRDS! ok daughter is awake, gotta go

Hope you all had a good weekend. Have a busy week ahead so thought I better post while I can and Lauren is down sleeping.

Moose: Glad to hear Sammy enjoyed her swimming lessons. We are booked in for an orientation class in a fortnight, I am really looking forward to it & hope it is something Lauren will enjoy doing with DH so they have something special to share together. I agree toys can be so expensive have you checked out the baby markets in your State? if they have one near you they are great. We get heaps of bargains there for Lauren. check out there website Baby &Kids Market= Thanks for the teeting tips as well, she seems to have been better with it lately.

Sterla: Yay for Oli startning on solids! Lauren loves the Rafferty's banana porridge at the moment, it is another way we can get more formula into her as well without the screaming match on the bottle so that is good. Definitely be prepared for some smelly poos now. Sounds like you had a really nice drive together is so nice to be able to do things as a family. Can't believe Oli is sitting up on his own that is fantastic & very advanced! You may have a little einstein on your hands!

Blip: Lol about Daz watching MJ, he sounds so cute! thanks for the tips on the Nuby cup, Lauren is slowly getting the hang of her Heinz baby basics one now and I am thinking with no teat there is no bottle association which can only be a good thing so I am thinking we will keep trying her on this one for a while.

Peach: Do hope Winters cold improves & she is sleeping better for you soon.

AFM: The last two days in a row Lauren has drunk her first bottle of the day at 11pm during her dream feed arrgghhhh. :wall: Every bottle offered before that at various intervals during the day was refused and met with another screaming match. It makes it hard that she won't even take water so I get worried about her getting dehydrated. Will just have to keep trying with her cup, she is getting there slowly but keeps spitting it back out. *sigh* just as well we love her to bits & she is a happy baby otherwise. She has been really giggling & laughing a lot more lately, had her in hysterics this morning singing "You make me feel like dancing.." to her in her highchair after breakfast it was so funny. Every time I got to the Woo! part she would throw her head back & laugh. :lol: Had a nice lunch at my MILs yesterday she was very impressed with Lauren's new rolling skills from back to tummy. Off to gymaree this morning, Lauren is up to level 2 now then visitors this afternoon. Speaking of which I better go get dressed - still in my PJ's! Any tips for taking bubs travelling & on planes?? It is our first big trip we fly to Cairns on Thursday, do hope she goes OK. Hope you all have a great day.

moose: wow busy weekend! and i did listen to MJ whilest preg! lol at sammy going strait tosleep in a noisy pub - daz is like that too! as for sleeping though with solids i get the feeling daz will be like his dad - hollow legged! Woo for Melbourne! its going to be cold here the next few days...but it almost always is in winter!

AFM: heading off to the shops soon - to cancel the insrance i had on my old car, which is good because it'll mean that i get some $$ back, which i can then spend on the tuppwaer i bought and maybe a new shirt. daz had a funny nights sleep last night went down from 10pm (as per normal) and was up at 1am - but wasnt hungry he wanted to roll over and talk! haha so i bought im into bed with DH and i and he was up at 5:30 for a feed then slept untill 9:30. the only bad thing was DH started work at 6am so he's up at 5, at about ten past he gets a phone call from his boss, the warehouse he works in got broken into. which is a little hairy becuase DH worked Saturday and he was the one who locked up. but i told him if they'd been broken into an alarm went off - he's put it on. im sure i'll hear all about it tonight. i know how scary it can be my first job i did a 'close' with superviser that night we got broken into! (mind you though it was really funny watching the video...it would have done well for "worlds dumbest crims" haha)

I better be off...daz sounds like he's ready to finish his bottle and then im bolting out the door! lol

Vyett: SNAP lol posting at the same time as me LOL. i can understand the bottle averion darren very nearly had it! i know a bub im my MG has bottle averion (he was a prem and still has a feeing tube because of his avertion) but he seems to be ok with the sippy cup (his mum was talking about them) as for travleing in plains i've been told feed bubs so that the ears dont pop...hope you have a wonderful day!

So much to say so little time! You have all been doing so much.

Yvette- How sweet are those baby markets? we went to the one doen the goldie yesterday morning(with Winter covered up in her pram to avoid germ spread) there are so many awesome bargains.
How lovely is the sound of their laughing? I live for that sound. Hope gymboree goes well today. How long are you guys in Cairnes? Hope you have a good time :)

Blip- Thats sweet you get some cash back from your insurance. Hope your DH dosnt get into trouble from his boss.

Sterla- How exciting Oli is on solids now! Glad it went well for you both and there wasnt too much mess... although sometimes that is the fun part :) And how very clever of him to be sitting up all by himself! Its hard to believe it wasnt long ago they couldnt even hold up their own heads hey. Oh and you just wait for the first solid poo! Your in for it!!

Moose- Im so sorry couldnt help but have a giggle about the magpie... its always funny when its not you. Im terrified of them and plovers during season. And they just keep chasing! lol
Oh swimming lessons sound so fun, I really want to get Winter into it but we dont have a pool so wouldnt be able to keep it up after the lessons ended. Thats great Sammy has Daddy time. And word about the toys, so ridiculous, but irresistable sometimes. Markets are awesome though, I got a fisher price piano xylaphone for $5! Hope you guys have a great time in melb :)

AFM- DP took Winter to the Dr yesterday and he checked her ears and reccommended a few over the counters, poor little thing coughed all night, so we didnt get much sleep. Now DP is getting it too, but I seem to be fighting it well thankfully.
Gave Winter her first ever rusk stick today, oh my goodness she LOVED it! The mess was horrific lol I had to go shake her out outside :) Everytime she would drop it she would winge, but it kept her amused in her highchair for almost an hour!!!

At the markets yesterday there was a lady selling some baby beehinds but unfortunately they were all of small size except the bamboo one size which I scored, then went online last night and ordered some all-in-ones so hoping to get Winter in cloth full time. Still in sposies when we go out, but thats why I got these for as Ill still use terry at home.

Good afternoon ladies :)

Moose: Wow, another busy weekend for you and Sammy! That's fantastic that Sammy is loving swimming. Won't it be great when summer comes and our little bubs can have a nice splash to cool off! I know what you mean about toys being expensive - I'm so bad, I'm always buying toys for Oliver. Lol about the magpie!

Blip: Hope you had fun spending money! Did you buy Daz some cool new threads? Haha, Oliver has had a few nights like that, where he wakes up and decides it's time to play. Oliver has unfortunately got into the habit of waking up at 5.30am, has a feed, but then decides it's time to lie awake in his cot talking to himself and blowing raspberries. I leave him until he starts getting upset, then it's usually a nappy change and another feed before he'll go back to sleep, and by then it's 7am... so I don't get much (or any) sleep from 5.30 onwards most mornings. That is so cool and funny about Daz loving MJ! Maybe he does somehow remember it from when you listened to it when you were pg?

Yvettemj: Oliver sitting happened very suddenly. We put him down, and he just stayed there! And already he is getting better and better at it. I am constantly amazed at how quickly these bubs learn, and how differently they learn. Like, Oliver can sit, but he still can't roll from back to tummy. That is great that Lauren is such a happy, giggly baby. Has everyone else noticed their bub becoming heaps and heaps more aware and giggly, etc in the past month? I just feel like Oliver is a completely different baby from a month ago. A month ago I'd pull a funny face and he'd look at me with interest, now I pull a funny face and he giggles at me. I think I have read that 5 months is a huge developmental time, so maybe that's it. Anyone else noticed that?

Peach: That's great about getting a Baby Beehind! Yeah, they'll be super handy when you're out, as they hardly leak at all. Oliver is in cloth full time now, except for over night when we put him in a sposie. But hey, one sposie a day aint bad. That's no good about the poor night's sleep.I hope Winter (and your DP) are feeling better soon, and that you manage to keep it away.

Antheia: How's that iPhone going? Have a great time in QLD!

AFM: We gave Oliver some more Farex last night, and he ate it all up! I kept wondering "shouldn't he be finished by now?", but he kept opening his mouth when I offered the spoon, and he wasn't spitting it out, so I guess he wanted it all. I'm wondering if I should make up a second tablespoon today if he eats it all up this evening, and see if he'll eat even more? And as for the first solids poo that you girls keep telling me about... well, it's yet to make it's appearance. Do any of you know if that's normal, as I was expecting one yesterday. Oliver generally goes a few days between poos, but I thought with solids one would come the next day, but nothing yet.
I'm still seeing whether starting solids is helping Oliver sleep at night, cause as I think I've mentioned, his sleep was awful.,. waking every three hours was a good night for us! But last night he slept from 8pm till 2am, then 2.30am to 5.30am... so only one wake up, and he's been having better day sleeps too. If he keeps it up, I'll certainly put it down to starting solids :).
We had MG this afternoon - our second last one (sniff). Today was really good. We all shared our birth experiences - some of the other mums had awful times. One had pre eclampsia, a couple of others had emergency c/s... the worst one though was one of the MCHNs running the group. She was in labour for 36 hours with a breech baby before having a c/s, except in those days it was general anaesthetic (sp?)... the baby was in distress, and she didn't see her baby until she was a little over a day old! :o
We talked about myths of motherhood and dealing with unwanted advice, which was good. Next week we're doing baby massage, so that should be heaps of fun! We're also starting to organise a contact list so we can meet up after the official sessions are over. I think I'm quite looking forward to that, because it should be a bit more relaxed, and all we'll have to do is talk, which is what we all want anyway ;).

Anyway, I better go get some nappies off the line while Oliver is still asleep, as it's supposed to be raining tomorrow (again). I hope you're all well :).

Peach: Woo about getting the nappys! i hope you get your 'fluffy mail' soon eheh. as for DH getting in truble it was more the "did i do..." state of mind he was in.

Sterla: :jawdrop: thats insaine about the MCHN and the c-cect! YaY for Olis solids! daz hates the farix - i tried the organic raffities garden, but he still wont take it. so in his bottles it goes! eheh i'm evil!

AFM: Yesterday it ended up a mum from my MG came around. her son is soo cute...and trying to roll over. i get along with her fairly well...so i was nice to see some one "new" but daz freaked out when her son sqwarked...which was funny! today we saw the pead today. shock horror he agrred with me! he said darren looks fine, that we *could* do an ultrasound on his head. but i didnt want to - he was fine with it. he even told me not to bother going back to the phyiso! so that was nice. no fighting (for once haha) went to the shops got the rebate and wandered around toys are us. daz hates loud/moving toys lol. i showed him this laughing/vibrateing eliphant. he screamed...oops :P other then that havent done much. bought some chicken that im thinking of cooking and mashing up and seeing if daz will eat it. but im not sure...we'll see...

Good afternoon mummies :)

Well, I don't know what's going on with Oliver, but I love it! After Rock & Rhyme this morning, Oliver was very tired and he fell asleep in the car on the way home... and then went on to sleep for 2 hours! That's practically unheard of for him! He woke up very hungry and with a very wet nappy. Then, when we went to the supermarket I noticed him looking tired, so when we got home I was sitting with him at the computer and he just seemed very tired, so I thought I'd put him to bed. I put him down, walked out, and I haven't heard a peep from him! He put himself to sleep completely on his own!!! :dance: He did that yesterday too... I'm hoping it's the start of a pattern :). Before this I always had to feed him to sleep, and before that (when he was much younger and lighter) I used to rock him to sleep. I haven't done anything different - I guess he's just learnt what to do! I'm so proud of him for being able to self-settle.
Now... if only he'd sleep through the night (or just wake once)!
It's great that he's sleeping so well, and so much... but I am now finding myself twiddling my thumbs. I'm so used to rushing around trying to get housework (and BB :p) done as quickly as possible before he wakes... now I've done it all and don't know what to do next. If he keeps it up (please!) I'll have to take up a hobby or something :). I feel like I've barely seen the little guy today though...

Peach: I have a wool cover for baby beehinds which I've lanolised (is easy to do), and I'm going to try it with a bamboo baby beehind as a night nappy tonight - I'll let you know how it goes.

Blip: That's great that you get along well with a mum from your MG. I hope I get friendly with some mums from my MG soon, cause pretty well everyone I know is too busy to see my at the moment :(. That's fantastic that everything with the paed went well! See, finally the 'professional' have realised what a great mum you are! :)

How is everyone else doing? We're a bit quiet with so many of us going away on holidays!

Im so impatient, I cant wait any longer! Oh that will be so sweet doing baby massage at your mg. Hopefully you girls keep meeting up after next week. Our group meets at the park every week although next week we are going to the 'babes in arms' sesh of 'my sisters keeper'

Moose, Yvettte, Antheia- How are you all and Bubs??

So we are still on house arrest so Winter and I are missing mg today, she seems to be getting better but Im getting worse which sucks. Trying to eat healthy and cooking with lots of garlic to get rid of it, and it dosnt seem to be making Winter gassy which is good. Had something else to say but its gone now.... :doh: Oh yeah, thats right! Baked apples for mashing for Winter last night.... DP came into the loungeroom later in the night "hey just wondering how long your leaving the apples i the oven?" 3 hours!!! We had bathed Baybay, cooked, eaten dinner and chilled out and I had completely forgotton! Luckily(in this instance) our oven is completely crap and they were ok, so this morning she tried apple, oh the facials were hilarious!
Not much else going on, Winter did her HUGE morning poo and was banana porridge from yesterday... it was sooo bad!

sterla: OOO how'd the cloth go over night? saw the pic of Oli eating/ hugalegs (i think they where called?) SOOO cute...i hope your MG keeps meeting up - its a good out-let, because for me i love having people contact and being a SAHM makes that a littler harder and becuase DH works full time he like his weeks "to himself" LOL but he's kind of got the idea that weekends to me mean PEOPLE TIME lol.

Peach: ooo FUN food poo is pritty bad. i think the worst daz has had was when we had organge spots from the pumkin/sweet spud LOL. i hope winter is feeling better - and you feel better soon too :hugs: and LOL at the baked apple. i did a simlar thing with pumkin but mine could have been made into diamonds it was THAT badly burnt LOL. my sisters keeper looks good...but im not much into movies...hope its fun!

AFM: well tis been quiet here. having a BBQ on sunday with some of DH's mates (i'm a pycho - also known as a si-kick sorry i cant spell it :rolleyes: ) i asked DH about having his mate and his son (whoes 4) over for a BBQ and maybe another friend (male) and a girl friend of DH's best mate (whoes in japan!...the guy not her LOL) and what happens? DH mobile rings - its his mate LOL he's bought a house near-ish us and wanted to catch up LOL. Ohh and he told DH his Xdp is UTD and he's getting 'the snip" (he's 29 and has one son to an Xdp, 'j' and now another on the way to this xDP 'a') the sad part? i'm more excited about seeing his son then seeing him! hah. so i have something to look forward to this weekend! (plus i told DH daz is 6 months on friday thus we need something to calibrate it!)
Ohh DH and i finely talked about TTC#2 a little more in depth. we agreed that we'll 'try with out trying' dec till end of feb then from june really 'try' which sounds good...and i'm kind of hopeing (but shhhh!) we eather do fall strait away (it's be cool to be able to make a speech at my 21st and be like "ohh and by the way...mum, dad, FIL, MIL you'll be grandperants again!" or after june so i can drink at my 21st haha. any whoo i better go get dressed...

Just a quick one as I'm typing one handed... Peach - I finally used a bamboo baby beehind with the wool cover last night on Oliver, and it worked! I wasn't expecting it to, but it did. Oliver's clothes weren't wet, and the wool cover just needs airing out. The nappy was very wet. So, I guess you can try it out with Winter and see how you go.

Blip- How was the bbq??

We went up to see the families this weekend, saw my family yesterday then stayed at DPs folks last night. Was good to spend family time, today at the big family gathering Winter got passed around all day, which is fine by me and she is a social butterfly it was great, everyone loves her which makes me happy.
She is now sitting up completely on her own which is great, and easily rolling from back to front, front to back and is constantly talking and blowing rasberries. We are both healthy now too which is soooo good! DP is a big mess now though which is bad.

Not much else going on that I can think of, hope your all having a great weekend :)

Peach: That's awesome that Winter is sitting up now, and rolling all over the place! It's amazing how quickly these bubs learn new things, and how quickly they perfect it. Oliver started sitting up only a week ago, but he's already just about perfected it. When he lost balance a week ago he'd fall back, where as now he can save himself from falling 90% of the time.
Sounds like you had a nice weekend with the families :). It's good to catch up with everyone from time to time isn't it.
Glad you and Winter are feeling better. P.S. I love your new ticker pic of Winter! She's gorgeous.

Blip: How did the barbecue go? I noticed on FB that you had a few nice drinkies ;). Hope you had a blast!

AFM: Pretty quiet weekend here. We had afternoon tea at one of my friend's yesterday which was nice. She has just started a job, and so is quite busy now. Great for her - sad for me, as she is the one friend I have who lives close by and could usually count on to meet up once a week. Not anymore :(. *sigh*
Oliver had his first taste of pear today. Hard to judge how well he liked it. He kept pulling faces and spitting bits of it out, but then kept opening his mouth for more. I'm wondering if maybe he liked the taste but not the texture?
Last official MG tomorrow. I'm looking forward to baby massage :).

Sterla: Ooo baby massarge is SOOO fUN! aww about your friend and going back to work! hopefully the MG will keep going and you'll be able to catch up with them! lol at oli and pear. darren isnt fust on it. mind you he only eats apple when it has farix in it - as it makes it thicker (he hates watery purees! i bought a hines one -first time) and ended up putting farix in it so he'd eat it!)

AFM: BBQ went really well! had a blast! DH was on "daddy" time so i got to have a few drinkies! had DH's mate & son over. plus another one of his friends and one of my friends (Well Dh's mates Ex DP, but her and i are friends and his mate is in japan!) and we all had fun. me and DH's mate (g) ended up cacking our selfs at in inside joke (well it is now LOL) about tattos. by the end of it - we could look at each other and just laugh! which was fun, as for DHs mate (a) we had a few good laughs (mainly when it came to me saying "ohh i can get you drunk lemme poor you a drink" which came out SOOO wrong...but my friend (L) got it!) but it was a good night and maybe next month once A has moved into his new place we'll have another BBQ (and i may even leave Daz with his gran and pop (DH's mum and dad...) for a few hours...but we'll see...but you know something? it felt good to have a drink and just relax, is been along time since i've drank this much (lets see 3 jim beam and colas, one 8% engery drink two bundy and colas....) and not felt bad or have them streched out over 8 hrs (it was from 1:30pm untill 6) any whoo i better toddle off...hope every one has a good day tomorrow and i :pray: i dont end up with a hang over! lol

AFM: We had our last official MG today - sad, but it was great. Lots of talking, almost everyone brought a plate of food. Oliver was in a good mood, and was being a little social butterfly talking and trying to touch all the other babies (he almost kissed one other little boy there, uh oh! lol). We have made plans to meet up in a fortnight at a baby-friendly cafe. I really hope it keeps up!
Not much else happening here... I just wish weekends lasted longer so I had DH home with me :(.

AFM: Oliver and I had the best sleep last night! He went down at 8.30pm (I went to bed at 10pm) and he slept through till 3am. Had a feed and then slept through till 7.15am! Now, if he only did that every night!
It's my little sister's birthday today (she's 15), so I have to buy a cake and do a few other things for when my family comes over tonight.

Oh Sterla Im so envious! Well done Oli on the good sleep, you must have felt sooo good when you woke up??

So DP picked me up this arvo and we pulled into the driveway, I asked if my nappies came he said " just a letter about such and such blah blah" so I get out of the car and am yelling in the driveway "I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT RUBBISH I WANT MY NAPPIES I CANT BELIEVE IT rahrahrah" and he says "well you better go look in the front door then" and so the postie had left a slip and there was cheering and happiness all round. Heheh turd. They are awesome and I double hot-washed them but am too impatient to do them the required 5 times, I simply MUST put her butt in them tommorrow.

BB meet up went well, tmrw going to the movies with my usual mums and invited todays mums along which should be good.

Peach - great about the sitting and rolling. Our girls aren't doing any of that at all. They can sit for 10secs if we're lucky. What nappies are these?

We have some news too. Hana got her first tooth on Sunday. Whoohoo! Finally all that dribble and chewing has revealed a shiney new tooth. Mae is not far behind. I forgot how razor sharp new teeth are! I'm going to have to watch her on the booby (her older sister loved to bite)

I ordered some baby beehind all in ones (and covers for my terry's)as Im using terry squares at home but wanted something easy for when we go out and about. Im so stoked I converted to cloth(only about 4 weeks ago now abouts) best desision ever. I dont think I want to do mcn's full time though I quite like the old school terry's at home as they dry so quick and are so cheap, 12 for the price of one mcn but hey everyone is different and i am...... cutting a short story VERY long here heheh :lol:

AFM: well its been quiet here again. im thinking daz is the only tooth-less one here! and no real signs of any comming up he's funny he wont chew on teething toys rather on Mr Pineapple's foot (toy from his play mat) and its soo icky after it all wet and sqwishy! but i still love him to bits. we watched video we took of him at just over a month old. he looked so skinny...i felt horrable...but DH said i was doing my best - expressing and trying to bottle feed...and it wasnt my fault...but :dunno: some times i feel sick thinking about what happend. i still beat myself up about the whole 'failure to thrive' thing as well...but hes ok now, which is the main thing!
we have MG tomorrow and before that daz has his 6month jabs :( poor thing i feel so, so sorry for him each time he has them....i think i'll be more scared as such about the 12 month ones - a women i worked with lost her daughter after them (going back 24-25 years now) and thats always stuck with me...but im sure he'll be fine...
Ohh and im hopefully once i've done the tax return getting him a play pen! its got like portacot sides on it so if i have to leave daz in a room he wont roll in to the blinds (he did that today) or 'hide' under the coffee table! (he did that friday!)
i better head of and get some sleep!

Blip: Nope, Daz isn't the only toothless one - Oliver hasn't had any teeth come through yet, and doesn't seem to be displaying any teething symptoms either.
It's hard to let go of these things :hug: Just keep reminding yourself that Daz is a happy, healthy bub now. He knows you love him, and that's the main thing :).

Peach: Yay - I'm glad your nappies came :D!

Luua: How exciting about those teeth coming through! Yes, like Blip said I am completely in awe - twins and a toddler! How do you it?

AFM: Well, not such a good night last night. Oliver woke up 4 times, the last time he didn't go back down for an hour, only to sleep for another 40 minutes. I feel a bit stuffed today (and probably shouldn't have driven into the city and back today - very fatigued).
Oliver and I went to Rock & Rhyme this morning. He does enjoy it, but he's so tired that time of morning that he's not overly lively. R&R is on Thursdays at 11am as well - so maybe I'll try tomorrow and see if the different time makes any difference.
I also just got a message from a friend telling me she's in town today, so I get to see her this afternoon - yay!

sterla : Yay daz isnt the only gummy shark here! aww about Oli waking up, daz did that about two weeks ago because he found he could roll onto his tummy in his cot then roll back and hit his head on the side! around 26 weeks is a "wonder week" and they can affect sleeping like since then he's gone back to sleeping from 10pm till 3:30am then from 4am - 8am (with only one maybe two day sleeps!!)

Moose: i saw on FB your back! yay. Ohh and melb wasnt that cold on the weekend...i was in 3/4 pants and thongs ;)

AFM: some call it baby brain. others forgetful i call it muddled! i went to have Daz's jabs done...opps wrong week! haha so off we toddled NEXT wednesday to have them done. but the upside i bought all the stuff i need for dinner (i'm attempting a roast with roasted carrot & onion and fired spud disks and my fav part *mainly becuase the rost is lamb lol* coliflower and white sause) but DH dosent know so he'll want something like spag bowl! haha. well i better go get Daz dressed for MG...hope every one has a good day!

Just a quick hello from me as I have a mountain ( being literal here too) of washing and unpacking to do as I had MG this morning. Melbourne was a blast and I wish we had longer, mind you it is much warmer in Sydney than Melbourne ! lol! Will be back later on today or tomorrow to give a full update! Winter wont go to sleep AARRRGH Ive tried 3 times and have yelled in frustration twice. She is so tired but so hyperactive its weird. She has been awake since half 4. SLEEEPYTIME!!!!

Peach: :hug: I hope Winter got off to sleep okay. Oliver has done that a few times - got to that hyperactive/tired stage. Sometimes (not all the time) a breastfeed will calm him down enough to get properly sleepy.
How are your new nappies going? I've actually ordered some more Baby Beehind Magicalls, cause online they have a clearance on them ($17.50). I ordered them Monday night... they'll probably take ages to get here through :rolleyes:.

Moose: Welcome back! Glad you had a great time, can't wait to hear all about it!

Blip: How did your roast go? How was MG?

AFM: Oliver is 6 months old today :dance: which means we've been b/f for 6 months! After hearing all the problems and struggles a lot of you girls have had with b/f, I only appreciate it all the more.
Oliver has a check up this morning, so we'll find out how much he has grown in the past month. I'll probably be back later to report on that :).
I went FB crazy yesterday, and added all the girls from my MG that I could find! It's good - just another way for us to keep in touch. I've also been finding out roughly how old the other mothers are from FB, and boy am I a bad judge at how old people are! A few of the other mums I thought were mid 20s, and they're early 30's!

Oh, and DH and I found out on Monday that our rental property finally got re-let. Finally! It would have been nice if it had happened a month or two ago when we had moved so we didn't have to waste so much money on rent. Oh well. And, we are finally getting a heat pump installed on Monday! Yay - no more money-sucking plug-in heaters!

I'm back :)

Had Oliver's check-up with the weirdest MCHN! She was nice enough, just, loopy. There's really no othe word for it. Anyway, Oliver is now 7.64kg, almost 70cm long and has a big boof head (45.5cm) lol. He's going really well and the MCHN was happy with everything. Our appointment was at 9.30am, but it was almost 10am by the time we got in - then she was so 'thorough' that we didn't leave until 10.45am. My DH told work he'd be in by 10 :o!
I dropped DH off at work then, and since it was almost 11 I decided I may as well go to the Thursday Rock & Rhyme to see if Oliver enjoyed it any more when he was a bit more awake. I think I was 'destined' to go to Rock & Rhyme today. Firstly because I just happened to be in town at the right time, then a guy gave me his parking spot on the street when I thought I wasn't going to get one. We got to Rock & Rhyme just in time, AND 4 mums from my MG were there! It was the first time for a couple of them. We gathered around afterwards and had a nice chat. I think they're all planning on coming back again next week too :). So, I'm definitely going to go to Thursdays Rock & Rhyme now! How great is that! All the mums that were there I get along with quite well too. So, it looks like I might end up seeing some MG mums twice a week :).

LOL at the MHCN. i had one once...went off on a tangent about daz's refulx and how she get it some times...and then the bush fires on black saterday. but at least she was thorough! glad to hear you'll be seeing your MG mums too..they're good fun and hopefully it keeps up!

Peach: hows winters sleeping going?

Moose: where are you? under dirty clothes still? or a pile or ironing?

AFM: been a fairly quiet few days. the roast went well :D didnt burn it too much (my oven and i often dont agree on temp settings and it wins by burning food!) i think we may have a toothey peg on its way with darren...but im not sure as i cant see anything (if i look he sticks his toung out!!) but im sure in time we'll see...having a quiet weekend this weekend *yay* lol.
I have a question for you ladies. im thinking about getting a nose stud - what do you think? im not sure and well if i ask my PIL or mum n dad i'll get a 'NO!" DH is "if you want it get it"...so any ideas? any one?

Blip: I don't mind the really small nose studs, like so small they just look like a sparkly freckle IYKWIM. Anything bigger I'm not a fan. If you want one, why not get one? :)

sterla : lol im just umm'ing and arr'ing bout it! i guess im a wimp because of the pain factor LOL but im thinking i will...hopefully the small and sparkley kind wont make daz want to pull it out LOL!

How is everyone enjoying their weekend? We have had a busy one so far. We had friends over last night and watched a comedy DVD. Today another friend came up to stay (he lives 3 hours away). At some stage we found out that the Cataract Gorge (local attraction here) had flooded, so we went to check it out. It was full on! Seriously! I've added some pics to FB, but unless you know what it usually looks like you probably don't realise how bad it actually is. We also went to the Trevallyn Dam (which goes into the Gorge), as the overflowing dam is what has caused the Gorge to flood in the first place. All very interesting - Oliver found it quite interesting :). Now tonight we have friends over again. And I think I'm seeing another friend, and my folks tomorrow.

Oh, and as we always love to discuss poo... Oliver's poos have gone all weird today. A bit green and stringy. They don't smell bad, but they're not his usual ones. I'd usually just think it was solids, except all he's had in the past day or two is carrot sticks, so he's hardly actually consumed anything. If it was the pear (which he had before) it has taken a long, long time to have an impact. It's a head scratcher.

Hope you are all having a great weekend :D. We're very quiet aren't we (or very busy).

Sterla: Sounds like the pear. Sometimes they can take a while to come through. Wow Oliver is growing so well. And congrats on 6 months of BFing! Woohoo!!

Blip: Look its really hard. I cant say that its been easy even considering I had a baby only recently. Yo forget and then the rules you learn with One dont apply with Two babies. I have been diagnosed with mild Post Natal Depression but I think I have "the blues" when they hit. All babies are hard i think. But then they turn 2 and pull you up off your chair and ask you to dance with them and you forget all the long nights ;)

BF'ing two babies is easier then bottle feeding. We do twin feeding with them wrapped which helps otherwise they poke/scratch/hit each other in the face! Hilarious. I use to have to feed them with a book between my breasts to keep them away from each other.

Peach: how did Winter eventually go with her sleep? I think the last week has been a horror for us - must be a developmental week.

We've been doing OK. Lots of crying from new poos. They arent easy to do anymore since starting solids. Will start them on meat and protien this week i suppose but I'm dreading it as their nappies begin to smell.

Ella is learning new songs in Daycare and she loves to sing to Mae and Hana - so very very cute!

Luua: It probably is the pear I guess. I didn't realise it took so long to come through. Oliver doesn't seem to have an upset stomach or anything, so I think he can handle the pear okay - I guess I'm just finally seeing the new, interesting poos I've heard so much about, lol.

AFM: i got my nose done :dance: after much thinking about it - it was going to be done yesterday but my PIL and then my mum and aunt came round so i got DH to drive us to the shops and got it done. and as per-normal with me i was the odd one out. i was a 'bleeder' LOL as in it squirted out and landed on my chest! haha. but the pain wasnt as bad as it was when i got my ears done!DH wasnt advrise (sp?) to it. but he thinks it looks alright. the BIG thing will be thursday when i see my mum and dad. my mum *hates* nose studs. so we'll see what flack i cop (but i have the support of DH so mums whole "what dose *DH* think?" wont work :rolleyes: )

Yeah, the Gorge flooding was very impressive. It was Oliver's first trip there too, so we can tell him his first trip was during a flood :).
Lol - it's funny you say about Oliver being the quiet mysterious type... I bet he will be like that, cause both DH and I are fairly quiet, and even now Oliver is a quieter baby - very, very observant, but quietly observant.

How is everyone doing? I'm seriously having BB withdrawals :rolleyes:.

AFM: I have convinced DH to take a day off work today :dance:. I'm so glad, cause I'm so tired (Oliver decided it was time to get up at 5.30am). Plus, our heatpump is being installed today which means strange men hanging around the house all day, so having DH home is good :).
And!!! I'm not 100% sure, but I think Oliver may have his first tooth. The main reason I'm not sure is because he hasn't had any teething symptoms... no excess drooling, no red cheeks, no excess chewing, no crankiness... but I run my finger along his gum and there is a definite small hard bit. I've been trying to see, but of course that's near to impossible. The few glimpses I have got he's got a big, whitish swollen bit of his gum, but in the middle there seems to be something. I can't get a good enough look to confirm that it's a tooth, but it feels like a tooth just coming through! I hope it's a tooth - quite exciting :).

strerla: YaY for having hubby home :dance: its always nice - even better with random men comming to your place! dont you love hunting for teeth? i think daz has one that may be on its way up. i cant tell though if i look he sticks his toung out! the cheeky thing. plus he always has rosey cheeks! that'll be so cool to tell Oli "look i used to sit under that tree and but i couldnt becuase of the FLOOD running right next to it!"

AFM: been quiet today. daz has been fairly good. minus the fact he was wake from 9am unitill 2pm. even a 20min drive to and from seeing DH at work didnt get him to sleep! but he slept from 2pm till 2:45 which i guess is good for him (both 20min naps in one i guess LOL) but the weather has been nice. my nose has been fine today. didnt hurt at all (even when i put the antiseptic gel thingy on)so im quite proud of myself :lol: Ohh i did forget to metion i got a rise out of the women who did it. when she said "we have a bleeder" i said "i thought it was bad. always is when you can taste your own blood in the back of your mouth" the look she gave me was classic - but i think having gone through labour with daz the pain didnt seem *that* bad!
Speaking of daz sounds like our hudeni-worm is wriggleing into mischif (hes 6months old and already being cheeky!)
