PJ: Yeah, definitely look into a MG or something similar! Before I started mine I had the other girls here gushing about theirs, and I totally get why now. Honestly, once you have that regular mummy time you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. Even if you try a playgroup or something - anything with other mums that you can chat to. And Summer will love interacting with other bubs - Oliver loves it - even if just to sit and stare at them :).
Awww, that sucks about Summer's sleep (or lack there of).I hope she sleeps better soon.
AFM: Oliver and I went to playgroup this morning for the first time. It was okay - just a big hall, heaps of toys and kids running around everywhere. There were a few other mums with babies, so I sat with them. There was a 10 month old girl who has just started crawling, so I told Oliver to pay very close attention, lol. There was also a 4.5 month old, and a 6 week old bub (though he looked much, much older and bigger). Oliver's girlfriend Ella was also there ;).
Also, Oliver has started waving! At the end of playgroup we were standing outside watching the other kids play, and I noticed him making waving movements. So, I waved to Oliver, and he'd wave back. And now he keeps doing it! I visited my Dad afterwards, and my Dad would wave and Oliver would wave back. He'll do it in the mirror too. So cute!
Sleep still sucks here... but that's nothing new. Last night he went down at 7pm, woke at 10pm and didn't go back down till 11.45pm :wall:. Oliver is still up 3 times a night, but at least he's going down for all his day sleeps without too much trouble.
Hope everyone is well :).
-
Hiya ladies - how is everyone enjoying their weekend?
Moose: How did the move go??? We miss you! :)
AFM: We have MIL and BIL visiting this weekend, though Oliver hasn't seen them yet cause he's been asleep since before they arrived.
Oliver is getting closer and closer to crawling. I'm not sure how close, but he can get from sitting to his knees, and when he's on his knees he rocks like crazy, and has managed to inch one knee forwards slightly. Might be time to baby proof the house!
Mainly I just came on to say hello - we've been so, so quiet on here - I miss all my baby buddies!!! How are you all?
-
Sterla-Hey!How exciting about crawling, summers still not looking of anything close!!I know she will get there i guess im just like come on,then i think,do i really want it?haha. It is sooo quiet in here!I was away for the weekend,my dad got married which was 3 hours drive away where he lives so we stayed the night out there.Has the sleeping got any better?
Hi to everyone else, its so quiet in here, our bubs are keeping us busy hey?
-
Good evening ladies, how are we all?
We're not so good here :(. Oliver caught his first cold, and was up most of the night (I think I totaled 2 hours sleep). Today he had snot pouring out of his nose (thank goodness for Fess Little Noses!), and had a fever. He was so, so tired, but wouldn't sleep unless I was holding him (and he's so heavy!). He just looked so miserable, and I felt so helpless :(. Thankfully DH stayed home to help.
I think the worst is over - Oliver was much more himself this evening, and went down for the night without too much trouble. Now I'm hoping for a long sleep!!!
-
Sterla-You poor things!!Glad Oliver has gone down tonight hopefully he has a good sleep and then can get better soon, hope you get a good night sleep or at least resting hey? that you both do and that Oliver feels better soon poor little thing!
Hi to everyone, feels weird noone on here, heeeeellloooo? Is anyone alive out there??heehee,(titanic)ok ive gone mad now, anyway, summer had to have a hearing test today, she had one when first born, the normal thing and she passed but they wanted to see us again because DH and my sister are both totally deaf in one ear, different ears so yeh they cant sit next to eachother or they cant hear eachother funny i know so anyway she had it done and we have to go back in 2 months because her left ear didnt go to well.Im not worried, she can hear thats the main thing and they said it could be different things affecting it so they wanna do it again, she was soooo good and soooo cute,oh i could sit in another room while Dh had to sit with her and her little face i was watching and she couldnt see i cant explain it but i'll never forget the cute little look was like whats going on,not worried but sort of intregued sooooo cute!!!well better be off to bed,so tired had a big weekend down at my dads didnt sleep well either so i'll say nighty nighht ladies
-
ello lovely ladies!
sterla : aww poor thing  i hope Oli has settled back down for you  you're doing so well! *insert cowtow here* has Oli moved at all 'crawling' yet?!?
Pj : how' d the hearing test go? i have to admit its amuseing watching two people who cant hear out of on ear sitting on the 'wrong' side of each other, one of my uncles (by marraige) and and aunt (by marraige) are like that and some one *cough* mymother *cough* put them next to each other at my wedding
AFM: been fairly quiet here. Dj is sleeping better at night (9pm-5am) which is good our day sleeps...well...non existant. he'll go into his cot for an hour so i can get things done with out worrying about him rolling into something/anything then hes up again, but hes happy in his cot which is a plus! the other thing is im thinking about starting back at kararte. i did it for just over 3 years and was due to go for my red belt (so i'm still a blue belt...), but never did (lost the drive i had) but the last week or so i've been thinking about going back and training. i need some "me" time and shopping = spending money lol. sure kararte is im guessing $9 a lesson but its getting me fit (and who knows i may even start compeating again..) i was intending to start up again but then i found out i was UTD with Dj and that idea went out the window, but we'll see...im not even sure if i'd fit into my Gee (unifrom) any more  but we'll see!
Hope every one is having a good night! :wiggle:

Good Evening Baby Buddies!
How is Everyone going??
Sterla thats no good Oli has his first cold, you guys have done so well for him to only be having his first one now though... Its horrible though for sure. Hows the sleep going? Winter is still up between 2 and 4 times a night here too, so your not alone! Although I must say she is getting much better.
Do you think you guys will go back to playgroup? I rang up about the one in our area but its on at the same tyme as rhyme time so Im contemplating wether to go or not. Speaking of, what do you guys do at your rock and rhyme?? Is it the same thing every week?
To answer your q on solids, Winter is having 3 solid meals a day, baby porridge with fruit mixed in ie apples and orange this morning or banana and kiwi the days before... lunch and dinner are either beans and vegies or lentils and vegies or maybe chickpeas. Tonight for dinner I made her couscous with lentils, sweet potato coriander and spinach. Not bad!! Last night was 3 beans with tomato, onion, coriander and a bit of cheese. Ive been trying to give her a bit more variety and trying to wean her onto herbs and stuff we eat so she can have meals with us byt the time she is 1.
What is everyone else's bub having??
PJ- I know what you mean about the day sleeps being crap compared to the night ones! Maybe the darkness makes a difference? Have you got a black out curtain of some sort? Or is Summers room dim during the day??
Too cute about her hearing test, and had a giggle about your DP and sister not being able to hear each other!
Does Summer still use her jolly jumper?
Dansta- How are you and the Daz man going? Thats so cute about your Nan still rocking bingo weekly, she must be so awesome. I miss my Nan :(
Glad to hear Daz enjoyed his first swing experience, did you get it on camera??
Are any of the bubs here still rearward facing in the car??
All is ok here, Winter is now getting her second top tooth and has been the biggest grizzle bot the past 2 days. It is so close to cutting which will bring the total to 6 teeth! AH! As of yesterday she waves also it it soooo cute! And Ive been trying to teach her to "give Mummy kisses" but so far only drool lol. She has started to commando crawl as of 2 days ago, but only if you put something out of reach that she wants(like my mobile!).... Oh and she is standing up and supporting her own weight! I have to hold her hands though and she is still very wobbly.
SO tired, but it was definately time to send my buddies some net lurvin!
Hope your all well :)

-
Dansta-Yah!!Go for it!!Make you feel good and fit and good for some of "you" time!lol about the putting family next to eachother who cant hear anything,i must say,DH quite enjoys it he doesnt have to listen to certain people hah!Glad Dj is sleeping beta!
Peach-Wow your soooo good introducing all those good tasting foods!I bet shes a good eater,im hopeless i really am,i never know what to cook and i worry so much Summer just gets bland old things and shes not eating much solids lately its like her face is like are you serious???So i really should make some nicer things i guess.Does it take you alot of time?Summers just been having some museli farex with fruit then yogurt at lunch time and then sometimes she'll eat her whole dinner and some custard or something but mostly she barely eats much dinner, not sure if shes not interested in what im giving her or if she just not hungry?Summer is still rear facing,im not actually sure of the age they can turn do you know?Yes she still loves the jolly jumper!!Another tooth aye??Heck Summer hasnt any yet but been sooo grissly last few days so maybe??haha i keep on waitin!
Sterla-Hows Oliver now?Did yous get some sleep??
Well not too bad a day went and visited a good friend but summer cranky nearly whole time soooo embaressing! She not mind i know but still, she doesnt get to see this lady much and lately shes grumpy everytime which is so not her!!Still no day sleeping happening but she did have at least half hour in the cot today maybe even an hour but i dont think quite but i was able to get some things done hooray!!Hey how do you guys go doing food shopping?I was struggling so ordered on line today, see how goes,i just always find it hard, sad i know shes not even walking and i only have one haha but just worry i think or i stress and hate people looking if shes grissling all threw the shops silly phobia i guess,do you all take bubs or leave with Dh or someone?
-
peach: winter has 6 teeth?!?! DJ only has two! ahh the commando crawl, DJ is like winter, put somehting in frount of him and he wants it! (namely his dummy!) winter sounds like she's eating some cool food, so we can give them onion now? sweet! i can start giving DJ some of the stuff we eat! (hes getting a little over roasted veggies!)
PJ: lol your DH has the right idea. ohh how i wish i could be selectivly def so i could ignore people too *evil laugh* as for shopping have you looked into thease mesh things you can put food into? i think its tommy tippy make them? you can get them from woolies and i use them everytime i'm doing a large shop with daz. when he starts gizzleing then i give him that with some Avo/banna or if i think he's teething fozen apple puree or pare. that keeps him happy for a while, i just take extra and pop it in if he emptys it...if you cant find one let me know and i'll send you up one, they're really good like i said if gums are hurting 'cus you can stick fozen things in there!
AFM: had a good night last night. watched heyhey its (wednesday)saterday! DH is almost 31, so he used to watch it as a kid, i used to watch it as a kid and now DJ (although he wont rember it :p ) has also watched it as a kid (ok baby) which is pritty cool, i was in tears with the Vegimight kid and i laughed at the dung beetle song! ohh as well as the swipe at "disaster chef" heh...which...happend to start last night too whooops!
I found almost all my old krarte gear. just need to find a mit (for sparing aka fighting) and my pants. i know i have them around some where, i just need to find them! but next week (hopefully) i'll be going to say hi to the sensi who i used to train under before class. but i wont do the class, just need to find out if i need to start over or if i can pick up where i left off.and find out if i have to change my name to my married name or what. DH asked why i was going back (being a little jelous thought it'd be to meet 'guys' :wall: because the boyfriend before him i met at karate after we broke up he and his brother where good friends of mine (and still are!) but i did explain to him that this sensi used to push me hard (shes one of the more sinor sensi's at the club!)
Anywhoo i better toddle off as this pile of washing wont wash it self (why not i ask?!)
hope every one is having a good day!
:wiggle:

Hey Girls,
Dansta- That is so awesome you are going to get back into Karate. Which style do you do? I used to train but like 10 years ago... would love to do a form of martial arts again. Will you just do it once a week?? As for onion I only put a tiny smidge in her food and made sure it was cooked realy well... it didnt hurt her so thats a good thing!
PJ- It takes me hardly any time at all to prep Winters food, and at least I know what she is eating. I have a stacker steamer which I pile full of different vegies then when they are done I smoosh them into cubes and freeze them, so I can mix and match her meals. Same with the lentils and beans. I tried her on each veggie for 5 days, so she might not have liked it at the start but I just kept offering it to her and now she loves almost everything(not too keen on her apple and kiwi this morning though. I guess just try it slowly with Summer and I dont force it on her either, if she dosnt want to eat it all I dont make her.
With Shopping, DP and I go together with Winter on the weekend so its a team effort. She is fine now, but trust me we have left coles SO many times when she was younger with like no food because she has started screaming!
More to say but the grizzle bot has had enough of nappy off time!
BBL :)
-
P.s Hi Sterla!!! Havnt seen you on her the past few days!
Also PJ I have a friend who does "cook days" for her DD and she makes all baby recipies. Im too lazy at the moment!
-
peach: my club is GKR. I'd like to do it once a week, but if i got back into it at the level i was before then it'd be more like twice a week, as they often have speacal classes of a weekend but that'd be a while off yet...other then gradeing which is on a sunday (which again would be a while off!) i guess i realised the last few weeks how much i miss it...plus it'll also help to be 'fit' agian when TTC #2! the added plus is when DJ is 5yrs old (i think it is) he could join in too eheh (DH wont he thinks hes un-co and a slow leaner!) an amuseings story is that when i was like 8months preg a guy peeved me off at a party (DH's best mates 30th) and i was like "umm you're annoying me and whilest im preg i cant kick you in the head, but the lower ribs are soft and squishy, want me to have a crack at them insted?" *evil laugh*
Ooo i just found something that DJ likes. venilla yogart with apple (finely chopped) with a sprinkel of cinnmon! (i was eating it too  ) and its good!
hope every one is having a good day!
:wiggle:
-
Geez ladies!!! Hardly any action on here for a week, then I miss one night/morning and you're all chatting away without me!!! :D
1PJ: Aww, that's no good about Summer and her hearing. So, does she have any hearing problems or not? You must be so worried though! As long as she can hear though :). Lol about your DH and sister - I can imagine that being quite amusing at times.
I know what you mean about feeling a bit embarrassed when your bub is cranky. I don't care so much around other mums, cause they understand - but around other adults I sometimes wonder if they think I don't know what I'm doing, or that Oliver is a really cranky baby (which he's not). As for food shopping - I actually don't have any problems with Oliver. I make sure he's been fed and he's not too tired... and then he is so distracted by everything that's going on in the supermarket that he's fine. I'm very lucky I think :).
I'm the same with giving Oliver solids. I can't work out when to give him lunch (cause he's usually sleeping right around then), so he's still basically on 2 meals a day. Oliver has still only had fruit and vegetables, and things like bread, pasta, porridge and vita brits. I'm going to start him on yogurt soon though, and things like lentils, etc.
Dansta: Wow, that's great about Daz's night sleeping!!! I wish Oliver would do that! Having said that, Oliver is really good with his day sleeps - usually having 2, one of which is about 2 hours.
Karate sounds good! It will be good for you to have that time to yourself, and to get out of the house. Mmm, I think I need a hobby too....
Yup, I watched (well started watching) Hey Hey last night. Ah, the memories! It felt like they'd never left!
Peach: I'm here!!!
Wow, 6 teeth! Go Winter!!! Oliver still has two, though there has been quite a bit of drool the past dew days, so there could be more on the way. And commando crawling too - very impressive :D. Oliver's not quite there yet, though it's not for lack of trying. And standing . Oliver is big on standing, and has actually started pulling himself to standing if the opportunity presents itself!
Now, to answer your questions...
Yeah, I think we'll keep going to our playgroup, although we missed this week because of Oliver's cold. It's nothing fancy, but it's a reason to get out of the house, which is always good. There are heaps of playgroups in my city, but I'm just going to the one closest to me. I'm sure there would be other playgroups around you could go to that don't clash with your Rock & Rhyme? Our Rock & Rhyme has the same format every time - but different songs. I mean, there's usually ones that we heard last week, but new ones aswell.
And Oliver is still rear facing in the car. I've heard it's safer, so I'm going to do it for a while longer yet.
AFM: Well, Oliver is pretty well recovered from his first cold - just a little snotty now, and a bit of a cough. Monday was the worst day, when he had a fever :(. It was so awful - but Oliver was such a good boy throughout. I got a very, very slight cold - almost nothing really, but DH has come down with a fairly bad 'man cold'. Actually, we've ended up with DH home all this week - firstly to help me out, now he's sick. I took him into work this morning, and had just driven off when I got a phone call from DH asking me to pick him up, cause everyone at his work basically told him to go home, lol. So, it looks like he'll be home tomorrow too.
We're all fairly sleep deprived here (I think me the most though), but yesterday Oliver went down for a nap at 9am, so I went back to bed - and Oliver slept for 3 hours!!! So, DH, Oliver and I were all in bed until midday! We all needed it though.
Oliver and I went out for the first time this week today, to Rock & Rhyme - it was so nice to get out of the house and see some other mums and bubs - cause we missed meeting up with a couple of other mums and MG this week. I found out today that one of the mums from my MG is 17 weeks pregnant! She will be having this bub just before her first bub turns 1!!! It's funny though, cause her first pregnancy was through IVF, and it was a difficult pregnancy - but then she just fell pregnant naturally this time! Amazing!
We are also preparing for our first overnight trip away this weekend. I'm quite nervous, though I'm sure Oliver will be fine.
Anyway, I better go, as Oliver is awake and hungry. Hope everyone is well.
-
Holey Moley can you imagine being pregnant again?! Ok everyone but Dansta ;)
Do you guys rock and rhyme to a cd? Sorry just at rhyme time we do the same thing every week! Except a different book, Im thinking of making suggestions...
Dansta- I did GKR for 2 years and was in the qld state team, my Dad used to do Shotokan and have trained with him before. I really want to get Winter into a martial art when she is around 4 too!
-
Peach: No CD - just two librarians up the front, an assortment of props and a big sheet with the wordsfor each song. Everyone sings along, and no book. We usually listen to one Wiggles song too :)
-
What songs do you guys sing?? I really want to get up and move as all the Bubs tend to get restless...
Hope your having a good night! How is Oli?? Feeling better?
-
Peach: Um, we sing heaps... Little Green Frog, Little Red Wagon, Row Your Boat, I Hear Thunder, Round and Round the Garden, Incy Wincy Spider... All the songs and rhymes tend to have actions that go with them :)
Oliver is feeling much better thanks - and back to his usual 3+ night wakings
-
sterla  im glad oli is feeling better and i hope your DH feels better too. man flu = worst then baby cold ;)
peach OMG you did GKR as well! :jawdrop: will wonders never stop! this world is far, far too small!
AFM: i wont be on for a few days right after i posted my last post our computer screen died on its bum. we do have another one (we use as a tv lol - long story) but DH is like "i'll get a screen this weekend" so i may not be around...till sunday/monday
-
Dansta: Awww, we'll miss you
-

-
Hey Girls :)
PJ- Every baby develops at different stages, dont be too stressed! I know what you mean about hanging out for the Bubs to have a nap, Winter just went down after an hour of me trying... so happy to have a min to chill out! As for feling like a bad Mum... your an awesome Mum! And we are all allowed to be cranky every now and again :)
Dansta- Spewing about your comp, see you back online on monday :)
Moose- OMG your still alive! Welcome back!!! How was the move? How are you and Sammy going??? Looking forward to reading your update.
Sterla- How are you lovely lady? 3 times a night when will it end??!! Im glad Im not the only one though who's bub still isnt sleeping through...
So probably wont be on till after the weekend, action packed with DPs Mums Bday tonight, his cousins 18th tmrw and visitors in between.
Weighed Winter last night for the first time in almost two months.... wait for it.... 9.5kg! OMG!!! She is getting so fat lol. I wanted to wait for longer to turn her car seat forward facing as I had also read it is safer but she just wont fit anymore, her legs are too long. So we turned it around last night and have our first drive forward facing tonight, Im excited!
Hope your all having a good day, its boiling here!
-
Peach: :jawdrop: OMG - 9.5kg!!! Winter must have a hearty appetite! My goodness woman, you must have some well-defined biceps on you!!!.
Cool about Winter facing the other way - if she doesn't fit she doesn't fit :). I wonder how she'll like it? Enjoy your action-packed weekend.
PJ: Don't worry about getting cranky - we're allowed to get cranky from time to time - being a mummy is hard!!! I'm glad Summer had a day sleep for you today :)
Moose: You're back! Yay!!!! :happyforyou:
AFM: Ah, the sun is shining, the birds are singing... and we are all doing really well. Oliver is only sniffly and has a cough, I feel basically fine, and DH is much better today too (but still took the day off ;)). We have had a lovely day getting ready for our trip away this weekend. We also took a nice family walk up to see my Dad, as Oliver hadn't seen his Poppa all week.
Oh, and I don't think I mentioned, but my DH has bought a motorbike :(. Not happy about it - and all I see are visions of it all ending badly :( - he knows how I feel, but the only compromise we could come too was for him to do it as a 'trial'. *sigh* He's buying the bike this weekend (where we're going to), and doing the course in a couple of weekends.
Anyway, on a much lighter note - Oliver has started rolling over in his cot. Twice now we've found him on his tummy playing with his toy giraffe Alistair, lol. Cheeky lil' mite!
-
Have an awesome weekend away Sterla!
Too cute about Oli rolling :)
-
ello ladies!
Peach: WOW 9.5kg thats crazy. i concure with sterla you must have some very tonned arms! ooo tell us how the first forward faceing trip goes!!!
Sterla: ooo now the fun starts with Oli rolling in his cot! thats cute he's worked out how to do it. and as for your DH with a bike, hopefully he'll only go out on tures as apposed to rideing it every day  hope your family weekend away is good
AFM: we got a new computer screen today. which i was shocked at normaly DH will "look for the best price" which can mean a few days but NOPE first one we looked at was the best (under $300 WITH an inbuilt web cam!) its as big as our "tv" screen heh. we also bought DJ a play pen which is nice for me (mainly) being able to do house work with out him rolling into the blinds/under the coffee table/into the stero cabnet.
hope every one has a good weend! :wiggle:
-
Thanks ladies!!Id go crazy without you!Hope everyones having a good weekend!!Its been nice days here!!We went shopping yesterday for a highchair, long story short a older lady i know wanted to buy us a pressy when bubs born but shes addicted to garage sales so she bought a swing but it didnt work, took me ages to tell her as felt so bad then she said she'd buy a highchair so she did but the tray was like weird sorta out way too far and slanted, looked like the position to be in if you wanted bubs out so it wasnt really any good, anyway once again didnt wanna tell the poor lady but DH went to try move the tray again after many attemps, lost his temper and broke the whole flippin tray off HAHA was quite funny,so he says ohwell thats to the dump now then,so we looked yesterday, boy i never knew there was so many to choose from!We ended up getting all flustered and left without one!I'll go have another look this week.So that was that and last night we went to my sisters for tea with some others,so Summer got to play and be entertained by her cousins which she loved and wore her out for a sleep today YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sterla-How was the weekend away?Yah for Oliver rolling cute!
Peach-what a lovely healthy bubba you have!Let us know how she goes forward facing does she like it?
-
Hey Girls!
Pj- I know what you mean about there being way too much to choose from in baby sections! The high chair we got was at target for around$90 on special its a steelcraft high and low chair and its quite good...
Dansta-Where did you get your play pen from? Bargain? Im going to start looking for a fence to stop Winter from getting into the kitchen soon I think...Hey random today at the markets there was a shotokan stall with people promoting it as a new dojo is opening in our area! I think it might be a sign, and your motivating me talking about it too...
Sterla- Having BB withdrawls?
Moose-Where was this update??!!
So we drove up to DPs folks on fri night which was the first forward facing trip... NIGHTMARE!!! DP and I were so distracted with looking and playing with Winter in the rear-view mirrors that we missed the exit to get to the gateway so we had to drive through the city in peak hour! The one hour trip took us two and a half hours and Winter grizzled and cried almost the WHOLE way. By the time we pulled into DPs folks driveway she was screaming non stop, oh my god! I was so frustrated I had to put my head out of the window at one point during the trip to chill out  Anyway it was worth the trip, dinner and cake and family chats were good.
Last night we had the 18th which was good, we left pretty early to get home by 9 to get Winter to bed not that it made a difference, she was so unsettled and didnt go to bed untill 11pm! Argh! So frustrating. I actually got so frustrated I closed her door and left her cry for 10 mins, which is pretty much unheard of untill Im at the end of my tether. And then she fed at 4 and was up for the day at half 6 so DP and I are pretty tired today. Anyway!
Hope your all having a great weekend!
-
Hello :)
How is everyone today? I cant believe Im doing a double up post for once! Hellooooooo??
-
Pj: lol ther are a fair few high chairs arent there! we've got a black one - hides all the foor spillages! its also good becuase we can lower it so when DJ can eat at the table with us we can (in thoery) use it!
peach  at your dubble post! i got the play pen from baby bunting. its fairly good. i wanted the bigger one but DH was like "ooh no it wont fit" which is bulldust as it could ave! silly men :p so the frount ride wasnt that good ay :( maybe seeing the cars comming towards her freaked her out! i hope she dose better for you!
as for GKR lol, maybe it is a sign! i took it as a sign when i saw an old sempi/friend at the shops lol!
AFM: had a bad day today. not due to DJ though. its becuase my back is stuffed up! i hurt it about 3 years ago doing an appernaship (as a chef) and i stuffed it after being put in a coolroom, with a bucket of hot water with bleech in it and lets just say i looked like i'd been doing something illagal. but tomorrow is another day
hope every one is having a good one!
:wiggle:
-
Evening ladies! I've been meaning to come on here all day to update, but have been quite busy getting organised after our trip away.
Dansta: Glad you got all your computer stuff sorted so quickly :). Sorry you had a bad day  - I hope tomorrow is better for you
PJ: We just have a Roger Armstrong travel high chair - it's good - doesn't take up too much space, and folds away flat if needed. Too cute about Summer playing with her cousins, and great that it wore her out! :)
Peach: Yay - a double post! I'm not the only one, heehee! That's terrible about the trip and Winter screaming the whole way... I thought we'd had a bad trip home with Oliver, but yours sounds much worse! All this sleep business sucks, hey? Well, we can be zombies together ;).
Moose: How are you going you busy, busy lady?
AFM: Well, our weekend was very, very busy. It was our first weekend away overnight, so I was quite nervous about how Oliver would go. However, once again Oliver surprised me by being really wonderful :). On the drive down he slept for a bit over an hour, then amused himself for the rest of the trip. My Dad came with us on the trip down (to pick up DH's bike to drive home :(), so I think that helped to keep Oliver happy. On the Saturday we had 3 visits to make, and Oliver was really good. Not cranky at all, as long as I was nearby. He even managed to have a little day nap in the porta cot at my uncle's place (where we were staying). I wasn't sure how Oliver would go in the porta cot, but he was fine. At night he even slept exactly the same as he would have at home (waking up three times), and settled back fine too. On the Sunday we had 4 visits to do. We had intentions of not getting away any later than 4pm - but it ended up being 5.45pm by the time we got away. By then Oliver was over-tired and getting cranky though :(. I sat in the back with him for the first hour, and managed to keep him distracted with toys and my keys and a water bottle. Then we stopped and got tea, and I fed him (hoping he'd fall asleep and stay asleep). He did fall asleep, but woke up when I moved him into his seat... and he then proceeded to cry and cry and cry, cause by then it was dark and Oliver hates driving in the dark. We stopped several times, and I was sitting in the back with him... eventually I managed to get him settled by shining the light from phone near his face and singing the same song over and over and over again (like, for the last hour of the trip). So, of the 2.5 hour trip, Oliver slept for the last half an hour. DH and I were completely and utterly exhausted when we got back, and certainly are not planning on doing it too often!
Today Oliver and I have had a fairly quiet day, which has been very nice. Oliver's had a couple of big sleeps, and has been in quite a good mood. We have a busy week ahead of us though. Oliver has a date with his girlfriend tomorrow, then playgroup and a play date with his friend Oscar on Wednesday.
I hope everyone is well - I am now going to have a nice, relaxing evening before heading to bed.

Hi ladies!!Had a great time yesterday!Actually went shopping for myself yah!!!I met up with my sister and she looked after summer if i wanted to try on things,i got some clothes,i was desperate for some, nothing fits and im over waiting for the weight to come off(hehe could be all the cakes and things maybe??)so i give up there and got some bigger clothes, was great!I ended up getting a high chair too just from target seems good so far,was mid range sort one see how it goes i guess. Not much happening today, ohyeh went to physio yesterday, the lady was bit annoyed with herself as she felt she gave us excercises that were a waste of time last time so we just have to keep woring on increasing tummy time, which makes sense how else will she learn i guess. She also advised us to get rid of the jolly jumper as summer likes to be on her tip toes instead of flat on her feet.Boy i wander sometimes, why make these things if there no good?Problem is she loves it!Ive just not had her in it much lately.I looked at strollers too but didnt get one my sisters had 3 kids and she said shes still a baby really and likes to sleep etc in her pram and another point she brought out,why spend alot on a pram if your only gonna use it 5 minutes, she just felt summer still a bit young,so i'll probably not worry for a while unless i see a bargain or something.Ok i've really raved on all about myself pretty much.Hope everyones good!Better go someones getting wingy here

pj: YaY for getting new clothes! how nice is it (and im sooo with you on the "so...whens the waight going to fall off eh?" but i have a sweet tooth ;) oo glad to hear about the hair chair, as long as it holds summer in then its fine! hopefully summer starts likeing her tummy time sommore, have you tried laying down with her on your belly? so she can sit like that with out having to worry about if her head plops down its just onto your chest KWIM?
Peach: woo! long mg, thats so cool. i bet you're be tired as. i get tired from my mg and its normaly 1:30pm till 4! how is winter going?
AFM: been a busy few days. wednesday was MG. i went for a walk with daz before it and whilest we where there one of the mums told us she's 6weeks along with #2! (which made me go a little green eyed!) then started the guesses at "who'd be next" one of the mums piped up "Oh i might be, but i cant rember how long ago aunt flow was...and im that irregular!" haha we also got a wedding invite to a counsen of mines wedding - i had to get my dad to call his sister to make sure we could bring DJ  which we can lol. so now the hunt starts for a new outfit! for all of us (DH needs a suit!!) other then that nothing else happening. my backs better now which is good. aaaaand tomorrow im catching up with a friend of mine, i havent seen him in two years. Hello Ladies,
hope you don't mind if I rejoin again after being MIA for so long. It has just been one thing after another here, hence it has taken me so long to get back to BB. She had shocking nappy psoriasis that we almost ended up at the hospital with her bcos it was so bad. Then she had a terrible cold (which started when her fist tooth started coming through) which lasted for nearly 2 months, lots of very very bad nights with almost no sleep as she could hardly breathe. Then just as the cold started getting better (after I finally convinced our GP she needed antibiotics) she comes down with gastro!!! Has so not been fun, I also had gastro at the same time as her, now DH came down with it really bad as well just last night, starting to feel like we will never get a break!
Anyway, I have finally caught up with all the chatter, glad to hear your bubs have been well for the most part.
1pj- I would not be too worried about Summers development, as they say, babies will do things in their own time, but I know how you feel it is worrying. I have been a bit worried about Lauren as well.
Peach: I can't believe Winter is 9.5kg, that is amazing - what a lovely healthy buba you have. Lauren is still only 7.2kg, another cause for concern, but the MCHN said to me this week with everyhing she has been through of late not to be too concerned just yet.
Dansta: I know how you feel about wanting baby #2, as much as I don't want one anytime too soon, I have still been thinking about what kind of gap we should have. Some days though when I think I'm crazy for even thinking about it!
Sterla: Glad to hear your weekend away went well, as busy as it was. I can't believe Oli is waving already, that is too cute.
AFM: I have been for the most part pretty good which is a positive thing, I have needed to be to cope with her for the last few months! Lauren has been commando crawling for about a month now I think, is getting much faster now too & has started to explore other rooms of the house other than the lounge room. The other day she crawled from one end of the house to the other to get to me as I was in the laundry, stopping on the way to investigate the cat bowl - thankfully I intervined just in time! She is also doing lots of the mummum-bubbub, bababababa kind of babble, I think DH is a little sad she hasn't made dada type noises yet. :) We gave up totally on giving her bottles about 2 months ago, so it is mainly what we give her from the spoon, the milk jelly mixed with puree fruit & veg. She has started to drink from an open cup as well so we give her a bit of formula that way. Anyway sorry for the long post, looking forward to chatting with you ladies more, hope you're all having a great weekend.

How are you all?
Yvettemj: Welcome back. My goodness, you have had a rough trot haven't you! You poor thing, and poor Lauren too. I hope things start looking up for you all. How great that Lauren is commando crawling! Lol about her coming to find you, and about the cat food! Oliver's not quite crawling yet, but I know I'm never going to have a moment to rest once he does!!! He'll be into everything, I'm sure. Love the pic of Lauren in your ticker :).
Dansta: I'm glad your back is better, that must not have been fun :(. Wow about the mum in your MG having #2 - I can just imagine your face turning green with envy when she told you! :p I keep being amazed when I hear about first time mums expecting their second bub, but I suppose it's just going to keep happening from here on in. I hope your lunch with your friend went well.
Peach: Yup, I'll vote. Go Winter - I bet she's in with a big chance to win too! :) How are you these days? Still sleep deprived? I am.
Now, you say no more cloth - but will it last? If you're anything like me, it won't! :p
PJ: I saw those pics of Summer on FB - she is so adorable! They're really nice photos! I want to get some professional photos done soon. Yay for shopping! New clothes make a big difference I think - I am in desperate need of some new clothes. Hope you and Summer are well.
Moose: "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Moo-oose! Happy birthday to you!" I hope your DH and Sammy are spoiling you rotten!
AFM: I don't know if I really have much to tell you all. Oliver and I had a fairly quiet week - we were at home a lot more than normal, which I don't think I like very much. I get a bit stir-crazy at home. We were going to visit a mum from my MG, but Oliver slept so long we only got to see them for an hour. We were going to go to playgroup on Wednesday, but Oliver slept too long and the mum I was going to see Wednesday afternoon cancelled. Rock & Rhyme wasn't on Thursday cause it was Show Day. DH had the day off on Friday which was nice - but we didn't really do anything.
Oliver has had a couple of slightly better nights recently - only waking twice!!! However, the second wake up he was up for over an hour :wall:. I'm tired - but I'm always tired. I've felt pretty flat the last few days.
Oh, and Oliver is so close to crawling now, it's ridiculous! He can do all the actions for crawling - it's just a matter of repeating them now!
Hope you're all well
-
ello lovies!
Yvet: aww  poor chicken you and lauren have had a tough run havent you  i hope things are all ups from here on in! at her following you around the house and at the cat bowl! she's such a clever girl!
Sterla: aww :( about cabin fever! hopefuly oli wont over sleep for you this comming week (but sleep *all night long all night ohh yeah* ;-] ) oo you'll be busy when he starts crawling. like i've said before he looks like the quiet sneeky type LOL. as for greeness? think hulk green ;)
AFM: been a busy weekend. DH ended up looking after daz yesterday when i went to have lunch with my friend, which was nice. a very strange feeling i held off for an hour and a half before i text DH and asked how DJ was going...which was a good effort i even made it hard for me to "rush off" i caught the train to the next suburbe :P mind you as much as this guy is nice (and very ... gay) he was like "oh your arms look bigger then last time i saw you" (think almost 3 years ago) and i was like "yep picking up an almost 8kg baby and a 9.5kg cat will do that" :shakehead: silly man!
Ohh and guess what, to those who i have on FB :shh: i think i may have got a :bfp: thismoring. i dont know...i'll have to re-test with a better brand tomorrow...) but i looked like a bfp (albe it a faint one!)...but we'll wait and see!
I better be off and wash some dishes!
hope ever one is having a good day! :wiggle:
