Well I;ve finally gotten around to update you guys..will start with a few quick personals
PJ: darn sweetie, I really hope Summer gets this exzema under control, it must be so uncomfortable for her. As for sleep patterns, Sammy is still on 2x 1.5hr sleeps a day but I have a feeling she is going to go to one very soon as she has been getting up later in the morning. from 5:45, we are now at 6:30-7am for the last 3 days and her actual sleeps. She goes to bed 6:30-7pm and now up a bit later (thank god) My Auntie who is a EC nurse said Sammy would be dropping a sleep sooner than not, so I am enjoying those last bits of sleep. I kicked the bottle out for a soy milk sippy cup 2 weeks before Sam's 1st Bday. Sammy is on soy as she was dairy intolerant. to make the transition easier, I started putting real milk in her bottle watered down a bit ( as soy milk is very thick) and after a wee of her taking the soy milk, I just started giving it to her in a sippy cup which is exclusively for milk. She has her water sippy and milk sippy so she knows what to expect when she is getting it. She i still on 4 milks a day but the last few days, since she has slept in we go straigh to breakie or I only give her 1/2 cup to allow us to wake up without her starving. As for weight, Sammy has just passed the 10kg mark, best way is to look at your charts and see if the curve is still right, if in doubt, go for a quick check, but Sammy is not chubby either but not skinny, if she looks healthy and is a hppy bubba most of the time, I wouldn';t worry too much about it, the charts are an indicator only. Sam went through a couple months without putting weight on cause she was so active and she ate like a horse, so I just kept her well fed and eventually she started putting on a bt more.
Dantsa: WOW, you are so close now, this pg of yours has just flown! Can't believe you went for your GTC test already..is nuts! Dj sound like he is well and pottering along and hope things with DH and work out as well. How are you coping with a wee one and Bundy? It must be such a different experience than the 1st time around when all you had to worry about was the belly and you, not feeding the whole fam and look after DJ as well...
I guess thats when your age comes in handy, you have a lot more energy than me old wifey!! haha
Hope your 21st goes with a bang and that you have a ball!! Happy BIrthday for Saturday Also hope your cat comes home as a pressie.
Sterla: Oli is just gorgeous, and I hope the sleeping thing is starting to settle a bit for you.. CAn DH come home at lunch at all? My DH does that when he is on day shift so he can see Sam but he is only 5 minutes away. What I would suggest is that you give Oli a big morning tea if he likes his leep in the morning and push back his sleep as close as possible to 11, then he might sleep a couple hours, get up and have lunch at 1 and he shouldn't be so bad, try pushing by 5 minutes every 3-4 days but in the end, they kinda dictate don't they! Good luck and let me know how you go as I know Sam is heading in the same boat. I
saw on FB that he lost your keys, Sam did the same thing to me yesterday, was all ready to go and then after 10 minutes and Sammy screaming in the pram, I decided that I needed to clean the WHOLE house to find em! haha at least I got a clean house out of it! Have you put some shoes on Oli yet to walk? They look SO funny like they've got these impediments at the end of their feet and they weigh 1 ton each! LOL We have been missing Rock and Rhyme a bit too and last week-, Sam threw thr most massive tantrum, cause she was trying to take some other kids rattle and I wouldn't let her...SO EMBARRASSING!! It's not like a library is not quiet either! LOL so we had to leave in a hurry, thank goodness there were only 2 songs left..
Peach: Hope Fat chops is back on track with her eating, and the fussy eating stage is normal apparently, Sammy has done the same, one day we like vegemite sandwich, one day we don't. I keep trying a few different things but is she is off her food, it's prob just a phase, could be her teeth. Try giving her her fave, Sam loves spag bol and I put HEAPS of veges in it too, so makes for a nutritious meal even if she eats it 4 times a week. Is Winter walking yet??
Sugardust: nice to see you are still lurking, glad to see Master L is starting to walk, is so exciting and how special that his dad got to see it, we take for granted that we see most "1st things" and the dads not as much.. Hope all is well for you
Well as for us..geez where to start. Bday party went great but seriously am not doing that again. I didn't even get a chance to take a single picture, I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off all day, but still had a great time and Sammy LOVED all of it. 50 peeps siging Happy Birthday and she thought it was awesome, not even a whimper, LOL She is walking like a champion now and we bought her first pair of shoes last week and they are already semi destroyed, with teethmarks and the velcro is wearing off as she keeps putting them on/off! Walk with one shoe on and one shoe off! All the games these shoes have provided were well worth the investment! haha Other than that, Sam is communicating so much better, you ask questions and she answers, not in words, but with yes or no or makes gestures...We recently joined a lovely playgroup and one of the mums asked me if she talked and I said yes...only then realising that she says a few words but mostly we just talk in body language with minimal words... the playgroup is going well and it is so nice to have mums to chat with again face to face and Sammy to have little mates. Although last week, one little girl ripped and scratched Sammy's ear, sounds worse than it was but she was pulling Sam's ears and one tore off a bit...all good, kids are kids. the mum asked me if I wanted to lodge an incident report and I said no..it's only superficial injuries.
Sammy has also, as I mentioned above, started chucking MASSIVE tanties and had me in complete tears last Saturday. DH came home for lunch from work and was short with me and I just burst into tears...she has been so defiant and naughty, touching the oven and the bins looking at me knowing she shouldn't be touching it, that had been going on for the last 7 days and I just cracked.. Had to have wine every night..for mental sanity! LOL but she seems to be back on the right track now.. She has also delveloped some kind of devotion for the toilet and the paper.. she has "washed" some clothes in the bowl a few times already (LOL) and the toilet roll when from the toilet all the way to her room, her giggling the whole way! Needless to say, the toilet door is now shut. We are starting to think about toilet training her, she always goes to poo in a corner and then comes back..might give it a shot anyway, whilst she has this "thing" with the toilet.
Finally, we are planning our trip to Canada to see my family in October!! YAYYYYYY!!! Can't wait, this is also when we will start trying for no 2 as I don't want to be preggers to catch up with my friends I have not seen in 10 years..too much wine to be had..
Well now that everyone is probably bored to tears, I am gonna go and enjoy the rest of my daughter's nap! Chat soon
