gone quiet ave we eh?
How is every one going? Lo's keeping every one busy ay?
DJ has his molar though (yay!) it took about a week which wasn't too bad. but i think one is comming though on the other side (the poor darling but what can we do ) i guess i could be worse as the amber teething necklace really seems to be helping - its just the constant fountan of drool that makes things a little ahem...wet! but other then that he's good. he also had this third hair cut - well half hair cut. about 4 or 5 weeks ago i cut the back of his hair and left the front/top long and he ended up with what was dubbed the "frullet" (front mullet) which wasn't looking too good (dispite DH having a full blown mullet in 2002 LOL! ) so he got it trimmed up - DH saw it and couldnt understand how i did it on my own, but its not that hard - with a dummy and/or some food for distraction. (as DJ still isn't really sitting on his own) but it looks ok - i cut some of it a little sqew iff but hey - not bad for some one who has never really had to cut hair before (and boy i cant wait until DJ is old enough to have his hair shaved short like DH's!) getting closer and closer to meeting bundy baby too, which i think DH is a little more excited then i am at this point about it. i'm too busy worrying about DJ and how he'll go a night (or so) with out me there putting him down to bed! he's been so clingly lately to both DH and I. mainly DH during the day and me at night. but hey, all too soon it'll be "no mummy i go bed by myself" and i'll miss it! its already like that when he wont be rocked/cuddled to sleep now - he'll self settle really well at times. but with the teething he's beem a true mumma's boy! DH has also been putting all the video we've taken of DJ on to DVD...a whole 6 hours (or 6 DVDs!) worth thus far. well we still have one DVD to burn. but thats a good effort. i've started sorting out the photos to put onto disks as well, but i dread to think how many disks that'll take! got a freezer full of food for DH and DJ - as DJ is now eating more of our food - becuase until about a month or so ago he only had 6 teeth and wasn't able to chew much - other then soft steamed/boiled food, but now he's got more teeth he's working out the whole bite off and chew (i was giving him sanngers but he poor kid wasn't able to chew them up!) which is good. heres hoping he likes my spud cakes i made him (spud/carrot and celiry!) and just about every thing else i've made DH can give him some off his plate if DJ wants it - which im guessing he will as we cant eat anything with out a little man crawling over and almost ripping it off our plate!
I also caught up with a friend of mine who moved to Syd late last year - she had her DS the day after i turned 21 so i got to meet the little guy and my LORD he's a cutie bum! looks like his daddy while he's awake and his mum while he's asleep. but i couldnt get over how little he was. esp. next to DJ (sadly i didnt get a photo of them together due to my friends DS being tired/refluxy and DJ being tried and Mr empthetic! ) but she seemed so happy as she lost a little girl going on 18 months ago. but by the sounds of her birth (8hrs from first contraction to birth ) her angel guided her DS into this world safely. her DS also has reflux and its amazing the people who tell her formular is easy and that at 10 weeks he should be "close to sleeping though the night" i talked to her about it and told her what i did to deal with DJ's reflux and told her the most important thing is that she follow her own instinct with him - she knows her DS better then any books, medico or MCHN. she seemed to look a bit happier after that.
now i need to go and wash the dishes, fold the dried clothes (i love my drier right now!) and start putting some soup in the freezer...Ohh and maybe work out when i'll get stuck back into nesting. i've made that many batches of cookies in the last two days plus soup...and i still have around 4KG of spuds to cook up but im in the mood for spud cakes so i might make some up for mine and DJ's dinner tonight...that along with finish cleaning the air intake-y thingy for the heater....its never bothered me before...but right now...i can see its dirty and i want it clean!
Dansta: OMG - you are SO close now!!! I can't believe how quickly the past 9 months have gone! I hope the transition from mum of one to mum of two goes smoothly for you!
AFM: Not so good. Oliver has a middle ear infection again . As a result, I only got 2 hours sleep last night. Oliver is coping fairly well though, but he's so tired and seems to be having trouble sleeping cause of his ear, poor thing. Baby dimetapp is my best friend right now. I hope the antibiotics work their magic soon.
Sterla- it sounds like you guys are having a rough time at the moment Poor Oli, hope he gets better soon and then you can get some sleep. Are you managing to nap when he does? Hows the gym??
Dantsa- Cant wait to read your birth announcment!
All is pretty well here, put Piglet down 15 mins ago. Its so great she finally self settles(!!!!). Only at night though, during the day I still feed her to sleep. Its lovely though having that nurse and getting a kiss goodnight and then no screaming. She cut one of her bottom incisors yesterday so the second bottom will be through any day now. They havnt been giving her too much greif which is good. Hey did I mention we got a dog????
sterla: hows Oli going with his ears now? the poor poppet! i just saw almost 14kg lost! well done girly! you're doing a wonderful friggin' job!
peach: yay for the dog! what kind is it (or is it a 'we got it from the RSPCA type and we *think* it could be ___' types) i'm trying to talk DH into getting a dog - but he thinks it'll unbalace things with two adults (since when am i an 'adult' ) two kids and two cats. but if bundy is a boy i'll aruge that the male/female balance isn't there! thats good pigglett self settles too. DJ will - but he's got teeth comming though and has become a cling-on-for-dear-life. but i admit i'm enjoying it. knowing soon we'll have two bubs. i'm liking the time i get with DJ now.
AFM: DJ has a second molar comming though now. plus the two top teeth next to the "rabbit" ones. i also think he may have some movement in other teeth but he bites HARD now lol. so no more fingers going in to check 'em out. hes also started to walk along a single bed we have in out comp room - and trys to along his cot (from the out side) and he has a walker thingy that he can walk behind - provided DH or I are there to stop it running away from him and help him stand up with it (like move him from the kitchen gate to it) i'm in agreeance with most people now - he'll walk once this next bub is here - he'll get attention that way cheeky chicken he is. Oh and he's also worked out how to scream. not squeal, scream! its quite cute. its a little daunting the whole next baby comming thing. but not for the 'normal' resons! i'm more worried about leaving DJ - over night as in his 16 months he's only ever woken up with out me in the house once (20wk u/s) and been put to bed by some one else (DH & MIL) at the end of april. so i'm a little worried about how he'll be - fine im sure but if he's teething DH wont know whats hit him (i'm the one who gets up in the middle of the night still and cuddles/comforts/feeds DJ. and DH, well...he needs a good 5-7 hours sleep. but i'm sure it'll be fine! (at least thats what im telling myself) the upside of it all though is i have my labour bag and maternity ward bag packed - and this time i remebered to put the diggie cam in the labour bag! as well as a change of clothes for DH - if i have a water birth/get into the shower he has clothes to change into so he doesn't freeze going back to the car after the birth (Ahh the joys of having a mid-winter as apposed to mid-summer baby) as well as spare batterys for the camra. i'm even thinking of chargeing up my old mobile to take as well - my current ones battery life is really, really bad! the only other thing left to do really is get a USB stick and fill it with music. DH has a few...but this time i want my music i got really angry when labouring with DJ about him changing the song (once it'd finished) and made him play it three times i think it was. Ohh and i gotta get eat plugs for DH - he's got senstive ears and well...i really didn't care when labouring with DJ - so this time he's going to be "pre-peared" haha.
now we get to wait and see when i 'pop'. a cousin of mine is due on the 21st of june (day after me) so it's a "race" to see who'll pop first. i think she will, as it seems i like having babies in my belly for longer then most hope every ones weekends are going good!
heeellooo? we're all busy eh? or maybe im just too big to be doing much!
hows Oli going? hope his ears feel better!
and Piglett?
its my EDD tomorrow where did the time go? i say edd, but i think i'll be crossing that line into the other "two week wait" but at least its not stinking hot this time!
DJ has a second mollar on the way though too, the poor thing. i feel for him. and DH - if its in full force when bundy comes, im not sure how he'll deal with it! MIL will be looking after DJ when im labouring. hopefully i'll only be in hospital for 24hours. so i wont need to stress about a teething Marshin! he's also slowly starting to cruse around the lunge we're hoping to buy a new lounge after bundy is born - as the one we have is cruddy and would explain why DJ cant walk around it - there is no floor space for him to do so! plus he's fallen once or twice and bopped his head on the coffee table but he's getting there. and his newiest thing is "hugs" he'll littartly throw his arms around your neck and try and climb up you! its really cute. he's growing up fast! he's still waking early for brekkie but im used to it. to the point that im awake waiting for him but we did have a week of no day sleeps - but i think both of us having a cold didn't help much. but he's asleep now so hopefully it'll start to sort its self out - again - until the next bub is born then it'll be thrown out again. but i guess thats the good thing about having DJ and Bundy nearer in age - they'll ajust with (hopefully) out to much stress for me. and DH's work will be more stable. he's going to (in the new financial year) start working for my cousins as a cleaner (they own/started their own busness) as a subcontractor. so he'll be doing split shifts (say 7am-11am then 5pm-9pm) so i'll have help in the middle of the day. so i can (in theory) sleep lol. plus any appts that come up he'll be able to help me with! hopefully. DJ has also become a real daddies boy! when he leaves (like he did today to go to PIL's to work on a cruddy car for FIL) he got really upset - but its nice to have that, its nice that DJ is close with his dad - i know DH feels like he's not 'cus his dad didn't really have much todo with him until he was older and he's (FIL that is) has alot of issues around things like what a man does and doesn't do (he wouldnt be able to change apooy nappy) and other things. but DH is good...mainly due to the fact i told him he'd be doing that kind of thing. the only thing i *cant and wont* let DH do is cook. he's just...soo...uptight about it. if its written down hes ok...but he can't throw stuff together poor man. lucky he has frozen food after bundy is born!
now...to sit (mmk maybe bounce) around for a while and wait til bundy pops out....ahh i cant wait for the "when are you due" questions and i get to say "ohh, last week" the one thing i love about going over is the shock value!
Dansta: Thanks for writing! I'm so bad at remembering to write in here these days! Plus, I have been trying to limit my time online. Surely you can't be at your EDD already!?!?! Where did the past 9 months go? I'm so excited for you though - if you hear a distant squeal some time soon, it will probably be me squealing with excitement and happiness as I read your birth announcement! I wish I lived closer so I could come and meet you, and DJ, and have newborn snuggles with Bundy!
Poor DJ with teething - it's hard on them. I hope he has a big break from teething when you bring Bundy home That's so nice that he's become a daddy's boy - especially nice for your DH, and it will be handy for him to want to hang out with your DH while you're focusing on Bundy.
Sending plenty of labour vibes your way
AFM: Oliver is much better. The antibiotics did their job and he is bag to his normal, happy self.
He is such a toddler now. All these funny things he does - it's great! I especially love watching how he's starting to interact more with his little friends!
He's saying heaps of words: mum, dad, duck, up, down, bic (biscuit), nana (banana), mormor, bop (poppa), cat, dog (I think) and many more, and all his words are getting clearer and clearer.
Sleeping is still pretty much the same - he wakes anywhere from 1 - 3 times a night, but I'm happy enough with that. Some time in the near future I do want to start trying to move away from feeding to sleep though - just got to work out a good way to do it so there will be no tears.
Anyway, I really hope you're all doing well! Would love to hear from everyone!
heh sterla - if you want to PM me your mobile number i can text you (save your net time LOL) and tell you when bundy is earth side if you want??
im glad Oli is feeling better though and he's his normal self again.
as for the toddlerness DJ has shown it as he's learned to shut doors (crawl behind them and hit them LOL) and thinks its funny to do that to mummy and DH is liking being the "one" DJ wants lol. 'cept for bed time then its mummy all the way (still LOL) but i dont mind that.
as for the last nine months i asked DH what happened to them. he pointed at my belly and said "that" haha...smarty pants he is!
...now i need some one else to get UTD and i can live vicareisly though them...as DH seems to think this'll be our last bubba or for at least the time being
i'm still here and STILL UTD lol.
thought i'd stick my snout in and see if anything interesting if happening for any one else ( ) as there is only so many times one can hit "whats new" haha. DJ has a second molar on its way up. and maybe a third one on its way down (top) but i cant see and if i stick a finger in there is gets bitten! he's a little daddies boy during the day but at night he's a mummies boy. he has been unsettled (thank to the teething) but nothing too bad. we keep telling him he'll be a big brother but i dont think he understands. but he has "talked" to the bump (non-intentual) a few times which is cute. mind you i cant see him over the bump now - at all...MW said last weekend (EDD was sunday) she thinks this bub will be around 8 and a half pound and a "broad baby" lol. DH is now freaking out at the size of the bump, which is funny. Ohh and my blue eyes have turned green a cousin of mine who was due the day after me (monday) had her baby...ON HER EDD! thats just evil i said to DH "thats wrong. a day over would have made me feel better" ah well. Steven Alexander is his name and he was 7lb10oz i think (so 5oz smaller then DJ) but i dont know much else. but i did have a baby brain moment when sending them a card...i almost sent them a girl card LOL. which would have left a few people rather hehe. ahh well.
now every one needs to do a HUGE update so i have something to read and keep me distracted lol.
Hi ladies!!Im such a hopeless BB i should be kicked off I know!!!Weve just had so much happeneing the past 2 months, wve done a kitchen reno and a few other things but ofcourse DH wanted to do most himself and altho its getting there now I must say its been a nightmare with a toddler!!!!Then I was up the hospital because summer was really sick and then i have been sick for at least 2 weeks arfhhh!!!!Anyway i really want to catch up properly but just thought id pop in and say hello and a litle catch up and do a proper one lately.....not much news for me apart from the renos,Summers been out of sorts for like a month not sure if its the renos or what, weve had heaps of people stay in that time aswell, and shes got 2 molars and then another cut threw yesterday but day sleeps have pretty much totally gone out the window which has been hard!Ive also been getting real anxious about things(rolls eyes)summers been really playing up when we go out and winging and carrying on so much i just go home, she was so bad the other day and i hadnt been out on my own for so long with all our visitors and DH home and the shops were real busy and she was playing up and i was in aldi and i couldnt get out and arghhhh i got in the car and nearly burst into tears which isnt like me!But anyway im onto her!!think shes trying to not test me but work out the limits so when we go out ive been trying to ignore her, shes fine like shes fed, dry, not tired etc,she just cant sit still and hates being in the stroller! So see how that goes. She was going really well with the walking but then all of a sudden stopped and went back to crawling which was weird but shes walking alot again now,i sort of thought once they had mastered it quite well or knew how to do it thats was it theyd want to keep on at it?anyway I had a quick read threw but will try catch up later when Sumsy hopefully has a sleep,my sisters putting on a kids party today which we are going to so hopefully shes that worn out she will heehee!Hope everyones well!
PJ: Great to hear from you. Sounds like you've been very busy! That's awful that you and Summer have been sick! What with? Are you both okay now? I hope so.
Sounds like Summer is giving you a hard time - I hope you're coping okay . We're here if you ever want to talk or vent! That's funny about Summer reverting back to crawling, though not uncommon from what I've seen and heard. I think they're just more confident with crawling cause it's what they know. Glad to hear she's back to walking again .
Dansta: Okay, I'm back, and I'll attempt to do a nice long update for you, so you've got some reading to fill in those long hours past your EDD (suck huh?!).
Well, things here are good.
Oliver has just had his first eye tooth come through, and all without too much fuss either! I'm so relieved he's coping okay with his eye teeth, because I have heard (and seen) how awful they can be for our little ones. Oliver was a little 'off' for a couple of days, but honestly, I think I'm the only one who would have noticed. So, this puts Oliver's teething total at 13 teeth! Only 7 more to go!
I think Oliver has had a bit of a developmental spurt recently too, especially with his gross motor skills. He's started climbing on everything recently - which I'm still not convinced is a good thing. I went to the toilet earlier and came back to find Oliver standing up on our couch... which means he would have had to get up on his shelf where his toys are, then onto the coffee table in the corner, and then onto the couch . Can't turn my back for a minute anymore at all. I'm in two minds as to what to do about the climbing though. I could go down the "no" path, and keep telling him no and moving him down myself... or I could just let him go for it, and let him fall and learn on his own. I mentioned this to a friend's mum the other day, and she was absolutely horrified that I'd even consider the second option! Thing is, I don't think 'no' really works with Oliver, not yet anyway.
Another reason I think Oliver has had a bit of gross motor skill spurt is from being away from playgroup for 3 weeks, and then going back. All of a sudden Oliver was able to get on/in and off/out of things much easier. He's gaining a lot of confidence, and running everywhere!!!
Every day he seems more and more like a toddler. He can communicate with us so well and more and more words come every week. I'm also blown away by how much he knows - and I have a feeling I will continue to be blown away! I mean, I know it's all just normal toddler stuff, but you can't help but gush over your own child!
I feel like Oliver's looks have changed a bit recently too - it seems like all traces of baby have disappeared, and now he is this gorgeous little boy. It's probably got something to do with the fact that his face isn't very chubby anymore, but also maybe because he has so much understanding in his face now too.
Sleep is as usual. Still anywhere from 1 - 3 wake ups a night, but I honestly don't mind, cause he's going back down so quickly and easily these days that I still feel like I get a decent amount of sleep. Oliver has stopped with the early wake ups too (thank goodness!) and is usually up around 6.30 - 7am most mornings now - perfect! In the past week Oliver has been having better day sleeps too - yesterday it was over 2.5 hours! I'm hoping it's the start of a new trend.
My gym/weight loss endeavors have, um, slowed down a bit... I hurt my knee, then I hurt my foot, so I took a bit of break from gym, and kind of fell of the wagon a bit (or a lot). So, I put a kilos on again , but I'm still better than when I started. It's really hard getting the motivation back once you've lost it - I'm still looking for it TBH. Damn you food - why must you taste so good!?!?!
I have still been going a little - if for no other reason than to chat to Arimeh, lol.
DH and I have been talking a bit recently too - making plans for bubba # 2! I won't say much - just that it will probably be a lot sooner than I've talked about in the past. When DH and I first started talking about it, I have to admit the dominant feeling was me being scared about how I'd handle having two kids! But as I've been thinking about it more and more, I'm getting more excited and am just really looking forward to Oliver having a little brother or sister some day . I think the main reason I was initially scared is because being a mum has gotten so, easy. Oliver is such a good boy, so even-tempered and independent - we've really fallen into a good rhythm, and I think the thought of messing with that scared me. It still does a little, but I'm seeing all the good stuff now too . And I look forward to hearing how you go with it all too Dansta!!!
I have quite a busy schedule coming up soon: next Friday I am seeing Eclipse with a mum from my MG. Saturday night is Girl's Night with a bunch of my friends I haven't seen in ages. I think the following weekend is another Girl's Night with Arimeh and Jahzara from BB - we're going ten pin bowling! I'm also in the process of organising a dinner for the mums in my MG where we leave our bubba's at home. It's so good that I feel better about leaving Oliver now of an evening. Once I get him down for the night I can go out, and while DH can't get him back to sleep if he wakes, he can keep him happy enough until I get home .
Phew... anyway, sorry about all the rambling - mainly this was for your benefit Dansta, so you have something to read! I hope Bundy decides to come soon - I remember I was going crazy going past my EDD!
Anyway, would love to hear from everyone else too!
pj: glad summer is feeling better (along with you!) and she's walking. DJ is still cruzeing around the coutch and trying to walk along walls also. but im tipping (like every one else lol) he'll walk once bundy is born. its interesting she went back to crawling though, but i guess she knows what she's good at!
Sterla: wow you're a busy bee aren't you! im sure you'll find some motovation. i know when i went to the gym (before we had DJ lol) that i wanted to fit into a pair of jeans and a top for a wedding (i think it was) so that was my motovation. sadly i never got there...thanks to DJ LOL! but thats what i found. the other reson i had was an emotonal out-let as well. thats from around the time i met DH heh. and i agree Oli is looking more and more the little man thease days! so is DJ (but he's looking more his age and not so 'old man ish' ) but he sounds like a clever chicken! i love how big his eyes are! i'm glad your getting some mummy time out! ten pin bowls sounds like a blast. something i haven't done in years! OOOO going for #2! heh go for it girlie! life happens once. i cant say its easy (or hard lol) but why not...heck at least have some fun trying
AFM: still here. still up the bloody duff. but hey. i have an 'end date' set (induction) on July 2nd (friday) and that is with me pushing them to 42wks on the dot too. so this week (assumeing i go till friday) will be monday - S&S (had one today also) tuesday - nothing wednesday an u/s to check fluid levels and a CTG thursday is an OB appt (which will be FUN as the MW warned me they could try and push for an induction that day...i wonder what an OB looks like with bleeding ears?) and then friday is induction. but the MW did a S&S today and told me i'm already 2cm and very "strechy" so suggested another one monday and maybe wednesday (if they can fit me in) to try and avoid a full induction. but i've had a few BH's and period type cramps since the S&S. DJ is still having a molar brake though. i've found tho to make him sleep from say 9pm-5:30/6am if i give him oats before bed he's getting hungryer during the day which i'm trying to keep up with (he'll *try* and eat two peanut butter sanngers..but hasn't got the whole bite off thing yet) plus a tin of food as well as (at a guess) over 300g of yogart. his brekkie in the moring is the same size as DH's with a banana for morning tea and plain bikkies or what ever i happen to be munching on in the arvo. and he's still a flippin' twig! but by all accounts this next baby is "going to be a fair size" one guess has them at 8 and a half pound. todays guess has over that! so it'll be interesting to see how 'big' this one is. other then that not much is happening.
Ohh and im not sure if you guys would remember all the drama that was happening with BIL & SIL around the tiem DJ was born? well its come to a head (or did about two weeks ago) when DH confrounted MIL and FIL over their actions towards my 21st (IE have an engagment party to go to three days before hand) and it turns out my SIL is behind the whole freaking thing! i found out that she said to BIL (who showed up at our wedding) she felt he was "betraying her" comming to it! i told DH if they show up after bundy is born i'll be nice - as always to BIL but SIL. nope. not any more. it'll be a case of "what the hell did you bother comming for if you dont like me? you expect a relationship with MY CHILDREN whilest being most disrespectful towards myself. sorry you got a snow balls chance in hell of that happening!" DH agreed. i also said i'd do this WITH my boobie hanging out for MAXIMUM unease on her part. but thats just evil isnt it?
hopefully next time i pop in here i'll have bundy earth side!
sterla-thanks for that, she had a bad cough and cold and then croup.its funny you said about you and dh talking about baby number 2 because we have too,ive also been scared,at first it was like same reasons as you,and lately ive been worried if im not coping because summers playing up how will i cope with 2?But realisticly i think it wont be too long beofre we start trying again,i just need to not stress about things i think and when i dont i find summer is so much happier too!How sweet about Oliver! Its amazing how there not babies anymore yet in some ways they are(confusing).thats so good you do alot socially,i need to start doing more i think!
Dansta-wow it could all happen any day!maybe the donuts will help heehee!!!!!yum!I could so go some myself,im such a guts we had maccas brekky not long ago!wow cant believe the dramas you wrote about thats exactly me!Ive been trying to get along and things never works, they dont like me and i dont care anymore, over there rubbish.anyway i hope it all happens soon for you and cant wait to hear all the details!!so cute Dj around furniture and walls summers the same.
AFM-well the party was great fun summer was too little for most games but she could do pass the parcel with a bit of help and she just loved being with all the kids and not to mention the party food.she did alot more walking too so wonder if it was being around all the other kids. Then we had some friends over last night who have been on holidays, they dont have children and wont ever but are so good with summer and bought her pressys so that was nice. Not much other news having a better day today, shes asleep, see how long it lasts we had a big play outside this morning and with yesterday being as she didnt sleep after the party im hoping she actually has one todasy!!
