Haha nice one with the toilet commentary :) I really hope his sleep patterns settle for you soon. Have you thought of maybe trying to get your DH to settle Oli without boobie involved? Nights like last night does he just suckle? Or cuddle?
Well Ive tried getting Winter down for another nap like 3 times Im giving up. And my nipples are so sore from her suckling non stop the last 2 days, she is full velcro baby.

I haven't ever really tried DH getting him to sleep - I think I'd have to be not in the house for it to work. I get too distressed hearing him cry. I usually start giving Oliver a feed, but it still ends up with me rocking him to sleep - very tiring now he's so heavy.

Remember when we could just carry them to the cot with one arm? Winter is so lanky its impossible now. Oh I forgot to mention I weighed her on tuesday, 11kg. Which is lucky now she is refusing food :(
Its hard hearing them cry, and Im not an advocate for leaving them by themselves, but if you havnt tried it imagine if it worked?!! You know Oli better than anyone though, so feel free to ignore me ;)
Fat chops is finally down for a nap! Poor Bub, back to see our regular dr tonight who can hopefully shed some light on whats going on. She is still 38dg and so sweaty and clammy :(
I have realised that I've dug a bit of a hole for myself by being the only one who can settle Oliver... I will try to get DH to get Oliver to sleep one of these days, when I'm ready :redface:. I'm such a sook - and so overly attached to Oliver.
About the sleep stuff though, I was just talking to my dad about it - and he suggested doing something as simple as just putting Oliver to bed a bit later. So, I'm going to try that tonight... Oh, imagine if something that simple solved all my problems!!!
Wow :o Winter is such a big girl!!! How long is she? I had Oliver weighed and measured on Monday - he's a tiny 8.66kg and 71.5cm long now.
Poor Winter - give her a :hug: for me. Good luck at the drs this evening.
I just remembered PJ asked what time we put the Bubs down at night. Winter was going down at 6pm but the last week or so it has been average 7.30.
Thanks Sterla, I will give her a cuddle from you. We just got home from 2 HOURS in the dr's!!! Waiting for Winter to wee so he could count out a UTI... and she didnt wee by the time pathology closed, unbelievable!!! Like the longest she has ever gone without going! He said it is probably a virus but wanted to check it out anyway. And now my throat is killing me :(

Oh as for only being able to settle Oli, if its the way you like it than who cares... and I know what you mean about being overly attatched, I feel so weird when Winter isnt by my side... even when DP is pushing the pram instead of me it feels weird.

How is everyone doing? We've been a bit quiet (well, apart from me and Peach, lol).
AFM: Had quite a busy day today. Heaps of washing to get done, heaps of dishes to do... and a little boy who wouldn't sleep for very long and was grizzly and super-clingy (very unusual for Oliver). Also did a HUGE grocery shop, and went into Target to look at baby gates. I think from about 5-8.30pm I didn't sit down (apart from eating tea)... so flat out... Exhausted now.
Like I said, Oliver was quite grizzly and clingy today, which is unusual. I'm still trying to work out what's going on with him... teething maybe, or perhaps this separation anxiety I've been hearing so much about has finally kicked in?
Oh, and Oliver and finally started saying 'dadada' - he's spent all day saying it! And we've also discovered that he tries to say 'hello'. When we've been teaching him waving we always say 'hello', so now when he waves he says 'eh-oo' - so very, VERY cute!!! :D

Peah: Gaww i hope winter is ok :hug: hope you got some kind of reson why she's been so up set (teething? they can get a temp when teething - so i've read!) Dj was off his bottles for almost a week - i put some Bonjela on his gums tonight and he had almost the whole thing (160ml from a 260ml bottle) maybe thats part of it? :hug: and WOW she is a big little girl!!
Sterla :hug: poor you and poor Oli. im like you - and most of the time DJ will settle for me (much to the horror of his nanna :rolleyes: ) but do what makes you happy! no point in making your self upset about it! and i hear you on the dribble patches whilest alseep! i had a snooze with DJ and my arm was COVERED in dribble! ahh men. gotta love em' ay? hope you get the cool change down in tazzie, we had it come though today.
AFM: been a busy week! DH had the week off so we've been doing "Family things" hehe. went for a 'day trip' on tuesday. we got home nearer to 11pm! which was nice. we worked out we did 450km from 11am - 11pm. thursday we went to my mum and dads for a swim. DJ was a little funny at first in the pool but once he got used to it - he loved it! in the end i was dunking him under (and me too!) and he was all giggles! today was a day of running around - we have a wedding tomorrow night and DH didnt own a suite jacket :wall: so we bought one. and tomorrow = a 2 hour drive to the wedding and then the wedding and staying in a motel with well just about ALL of my dads side of the family (the motel has a buffet brekkie how they'll deal with ALL of us i dont know! haha) then sunday = 2hrs home and then monday is relaxing and tuesday is "back to normal" or something
We told my family about bundy, they where happy *gasp* i was expecting the whole "its too soon" lecture from them but NOPE they where good. about it

sterla-You are amazing getting used to not much sleep,i cant function real well without much saying that summers not a real good sleeper latly i feel tired alot been bit snappy too i think whoopsy!Im the same,i put summer to sleep,DH even likes it as he reckons well i not got the nack but because been doing it so long its just easier i know what to do sort thng(which isnt anything great)hard tho sometimes if she not wanting to sleep!I think we just good mums is all,i dont like being apart from summer either!Good way to be i reckon!!

AFM- Now DP and I are both sick which is totally lame. Hopefully it passes quick. Winter is happy as larry and its crazy, we think she is being possessed by an old asian lady as she is talking constantly now and thats what she sounds like! Even my mum commented on how low her voice is. Weekend here was good, Ive been driving heaps more now and am so close to getting my license which will be SO good when I finally get it. Ah sigh better go, got nappies to hang out and if I dont do it Ill stay on here till Winter wakes up no doubt. :P

peach-hahaha funny as with winter sounding like a deep vocie!Summers the opposite so high and squeaky!!I just take summer to my sisters plaec she has a ring she floats about in happily she loves it,havent done the hole lessons thing yet.
its hot here again yuky,smmers been awful tihs arvo she been crying and miserable took me an hour and a half to get her to sleep,i knew she was tired so then she fell asleep on me then when i tried to put her in her cot she creamed and kicked and carried on ages,she finally went to sleep and has been about 45 mins phew,she neded it not sure whats wrong maybe teeth shes very clingy!!

Not sure what's wrong with Oliver, but we've not had a good night/day. Last night he woke at 10.30pm and wouldn't go back down - so finally at midnight I brought him into my bed where he eventually fell asleep until 4.15am. Then he had a feed, but wouldn't go back down. He'd be fine sleeping on me, but would wake and cry whenever I put him down. Eventually at 6am he went down in his cot, only to wake again a bit after 7am.
Then this morning... I fed him at 8.30am and he fell asleep, but when I went to pout him in his cot he woke up. Fine - so I gave him breakfast (and once again, he hardly ate anything). He was grizzly and out of sorts, so I tried getting him to sleep. Again, he'd be fine sleeping on me, but as soon as I put him down he'd cry. This went on all morning, and Oliver was getting grizzlier and grizzlier. At some point I noticed he felt hot, so I took his temp and it was 38.8 degrees. After a little while he still felt really hot, so I gave him some panadol. Tried getting him off to sleep a few more times without luck. Eventually he fell asleep on me while I was watching a movie... and so I tried putting him down and he actually stayed down. That was at 2pm... and he's still asleep at 5pm!!! :o I'm hoping whatever it is has passed... not a fun morning for us :(.

Sterla it sounds like Oli might have the virus Winter had. Its awful I know, I hope he gets better for you quick.
PJ- Thats no good Summer was unsettled for you. Days like that have you tried putting her in the pram with a cover over and taking her for a walk? Im so over doing things the hard way with Winter. Twice this week we have gone for a night walk to get her to sleep then put her in her cot... and she still sleeps through. So do whatever is easiest for you! :)
Just a quick one today, I was going to post in the BF section but I figured you girls could help. I got an electric pump but I still cant get any milk! I tried yesterday and again today and I only got like maybe 15mls today. And I have milk cos I hand express to get it started... what am I doing wrong??? Im finding it really stressful as DPs work party is in 2 weeks and I need bottles for Winter I dont want to put her on formula for the day :( :help::help:
peach: which pump is it? does it have differant "suck" settings? becuase to get the let down happening you need short, quick sucks then post-let down you need longer drawn out ones (can you tell i expressed for a while :rolleyes: ) you might also find that you cant express much with a pump. hand expressing may work better for you (every boobie is differant!)

PJ: hope summer is feeling better too! :hug: poor angel. how are you going?
AFM: GAH so tired! had a busy week: went to Maariesvil on tuesday with DH (he had the week off) and then a full on weekend. had a wedding to go to that's 2.5hrs way. DJ was brillant in the car. slept/watched out the window. got to the motel (basicly my fathers side was staying there) which was nice. got DJ all dressed and ready (running late by then) and got to the wedding - as the bride got there! due to lack of signage as it was in a park :doh: but after the wedding we all trundled down to the pub. whilest we waited for the respetion. so that was nice to kick back with every one for a while when we headed off the the respetion. it was nice, a local indoor bowls club (i think) very...country bumkin, in a nice way. DH was "taking full advantage of the free boose" as i was driving back to the motel. it was a nice night. made me realise how lucky we are with Daz though. he slept in my arms at the wedding location for about 45mins. then was happy for about 4 hours then come 9pm he was wanting to sleep. so he fell alseep in my arms - untill the DJ started up. and the little s.h.i.t.e kept turning the music up! arg. so i ended up out side untill he went back off to sleep and sat at the back of the hall. i got a little annoied though as i had a few of the older women tell me "ohh just pop Daz in the pram around the conrner -you wont hear him cry and you can have some fun" turned around to one and said "im sorry, but i dont do CIO, it to me in unhealthy and not worth the pain and suffering that comes with it. my son sleeps in my arms, hes happy im happy. no point in messing with what works is there?" we ended up leaving about 11pm - before the bride and groom as my arm was almost numb! plus the rain had eased off a little. i was following my mum (who was driving my fathers car that has GPS on it) well...lets just say stevie wonder would have been a better driver (my mum was sober!) thanks to my dads drunken directions (mum ignored the GPS to listen to him!) the next morning we all had brekkie together which was nice. mind you i though we may need a boat not a car to get home! the only downer of the weekend was a cousin of mine Via marriage who has some mental issues was there. she cant have kids (for what ever reson) and since falling pg. with DJ she's been an out and out cow! she ignored me last chirstmas and on saterday ignored me and sunday she tried talking to DH, but nothing was said to me. she also ignored DJ - when he giggled at her for attention, which really got my goat. but other then that it was a good weekend. as for bundy? well i've been tired and feeling a little sick. not as bad as when pg. with DJ though. but i guess i shouldnt compain. i've also been more emotional then when preg. with DJ - so poor DH can say something little and the water works start! and he has nooo idea why. two weeks untill the first scan! which will be fun. teehee...im wondering if bundy is a girl...being so emtional and all :pmsl:

I don't know if I'll have time for personals... I'm very tired, so we'll see how I go.
We had a shocking night with Oliver last night. After Oliver had his huge nap yesterday evening, he again wouldn't go down in his cot. He ended up coming to bed with DH and I at 11pm. There he fell asleep fine, before waking at 1am. After that he just wouldn't go down - not in his cot, not in our bed. I basically spent all night holding him. Towards the end of the night I managed to find myself a comfortable spot on the couch so I could still hold Oliver, and I think I may have dozed a bit. DH got up around 6.30am and held Oliver for an hour or so, so I had a bit more sleep then.
He was a tired, tired boy all morning, and I was rushing around trying to get the house in order before I had MG at my house in the early afternoon. At one stage I was even holding Oliver in one arm and vacuuming with the other.
I managed to get Oliver to have a small sleep at some stage - but it was in my bed and I had to lie next to him.
While my MG was here, I noticed Oliver felt hot again (he hadn't been all night and morning), so I took his temp - 38.3 degrees. So, again I gave him some panadol. That helped a lot - he started to cool down and he perked up a bit (though was still very tired).
I had a dr appointment in the late afternoon (to clear my very blocked ears), and Oliver fell asleep in the car on the drive into the city. I picked DH up so he could watch Oliver - he ended up just driving and then parking the car, and Oliver slept the entire time we were out (about 1.5 hours).
This evening he was tired, but not seeming sick or feverish or anything. I let him fall asleep on me, and held him for ages... then finally put him in his cot, and he let me, no fuss!!!
I'm still not sure what's wrong, but am thinking maybe teething. Mainly because his temperature isn't consistent, and I've caught him several times chewing on his fingers and wrist. I hope it passes soon - I'm running on 2 hours sleep right now.
Oh, and I can't believe how clearly I can hear everything now! I'd had a blocked ear for 12 days, and I finally got into the drs today to get them cleared out. It's the first time I've had it done - feels so weird, but it's nice to be able to hear again! Everything sounds echo-ey now though, cause I've been so used to only hearing out of one ear.

Dansta: Sounds like you've been busy! So glad that your family has taken to the news of bundy so well :). Maybe you having Daz made them warm to the idea? More babies for them to play with :). That will be nice if bundy is a girl - one of each!
PJ: :hug: I hope Summer is feeling better and sleeps better for you - I know exactly what it's like right now.
Peach: How are you and your chubba bubba doing? :D I'll PM you about Twilight - so do you just want a basic rundown of what happens in the last two books?
Can't help you with the pump stuff - I've got a manual pump and it takes a while, but I can get decent amounts. I have heard that some women simply can't get much from pumping though.

Oh, and Oliver has started doing this funny new thing. He clenches a fist and stretches his arm up - kind of like a 'fight the power' sign. He kind of looks like he's doing a superman impression, so we've been saying that when he does it. Now all we have to do is say "superman" and he does it - so cute!!! I'll try and get it on video and upload it to FB so those of you on there can see it!
Anyway, I should really get to bed and try and catch up on some much-needed sleep. Goodnight all.

Well, we had a much better night last night. Oliver woke at 11.30pm and had a feed, but went straight back down in his cot, no fuss! He's not hot at all today, and seems fine apart from being very tired. And I actually got him to go down for a sleep in his cot this morning! Im worse today than yday so am off to the drs this arvo, i feel hooooorible! Managed to express almost 20ml this morning, im just going to keep at it even if I only end up with one botttle. Winter of course had to be a part of it when I had the pump out and crawled over and helped herself to the other side :)

Peach: gaww thats cute about winter helping her self to the other side! sterla is right about the let-down though it'll help. :hug: have you tired massargeing the boob? like from top (near your body) down (to nipple) to see if it helps the flow at all? or even a warm face washer on the boob may help. i know it'll sound funny but i used to get some of the best amounts of expressed milk *after* a nice warm shower :hug: hope it helps.
AFM: been fairly quiet here, thank goodness! well kind of. i worked out today that of a night we have (as of today) 4 cars and two trailors in our yard. one car is mine, one is DH's every day driver one is a "hobby car" for DH and the OTHER car is a car that DH & FIL are doing up to sell. as for the trailor we have FILs one (normal) one and we also have MY fathers camper trailor as we're going away NYE and useing it (family birthday is on the 1st and all of my dads side is staying at a carvan park so we're useing dads camper trailor and their useing their carivan) so it'll be fun playing car shuffle tonight no doubt. ahh i better head off the blonde moster is awake. hope every one is having a good day!

I once again have not been getting the emails, but anyway, we've been flat chat doing everything as usual. I barely have time to spend at the computer nowawadays..and I am sure that its not going to get better with time. Will attempt some quick personals and give you a little run down on us too.
Sterla: am glad Oli is feeling better, I must say, I used panadol a fair bit when Sammy was teething hard core, especially at night before she would go to bed, whether she had a fever or not. A lot of times, she just felt warm and was really whingy. ( its a different whingy too than usual) and yes also very clingy, cause they aren't well..poor things. One of the nurses put it in a way that I didn't feel so bad about giving panadol to Sammy. She said, you know, they are really uncomfortable and when you have a headache, you take medicine for it, well its the same for them. Still, I definately do not overabuse, but when she was teething really bad, it helped A LOT. As for the sleeping, I just feel so sorry for you and hope to god that Oli starts sleeping through the night soon for you, not because he should but because you probably need some sleep something bad! On the bright side, sounds like he had a good sleep last night. Glad to hear your ears are better too.
Peach: Well, well, fat chops has had her 1st haircut..thats crazy! ( it cracks me up so much when you call her that) Sammy is gonna have her 1st in about 5 years! I can't believe she is weighing what she is too, good for her, looks like mumma has got some good milk! Too funny about the expressing too. I am not surprised that you are only expressing 20ml after a feed as your body would have well and truly adjusted to Winter's needs by now and produces just enough. I do hope you get enough for your big night out..if you are planning on having a few drinks too, remember that you may need one for the next morning too...Does she take the bottle well?
PJ: Sammy also has a very high and squeely voice, I ams surprised that dogs next door don't bark all the time when she gets excited. Actually its quite funny, we have a 7 yr old little girl who lives next door and sometimes, DH and I get confused between her squeeling outside and Sammy! LOL Thats great that Summer loves the water, no rush for lessons. Can I ask what kind of rings you use for her in the water...we went to my SIL's house last week-end and Sam was such a trooper in the water, she hads THE BEST sleep after 2 hours in the poo, but DH and I's arms were killing us and I think Sam would enjoy a little ring.. Hope Summer teething isn't too bad too, poor pumkpin. YAY for Summer rolling!!! Wait and see, she'll start moving and then you won't be able to stop her, I;ve said it before, enjoy the last bits where you can put her down and she stays there! LOL Oh and Sammy goes to be between 6pm and 6:30pm (7pm max if she had a late arvo nap but that rarely happens) She wakes up anywhere between 5:00 & 6:15am, and sometimes she goes back to bed but sometimes she doesn't but if its 5:30 or earlier, I giver her bottle and I put her back in the cot and she amuses herself til 6:15-6:30am with her bed buddies. As I said, sometimes, she falls back asleep and we get up later but I try not to get up before 6:15, 6:30am so she learns that we don't get up at 5am in this household ;-)
Dansta: So Bundy already went to his/her 1st wedding eh? Good on DJ for being such a trooper..little party animal already eh? Is it like mum & dad?? The wedding did sound like fun ( apart from the cousin.. but is she is mentally ill, sometimes you just can't help it) and good on DH to take advantage of the open bar, sometimes the daddy need a break! When is he starting his new job? Did you tell anyone about Bundy or just used that you were the designated driver story? Your house sound like a car yard! LOL At least it's good your DH has a hobby that keeps him occupied and its not going out to get wasted in pubs. I feel so sorry for you being pregnant in this heat already in November, I hope the summer is cool but I somehow doubt it...you probably picked the 2 hottest summers in 50 years to be pregnant! LOL On the birght side, you won't be at the "whale" stage for the main heat of Summer. Do you have air-con?
As for ourselves, we went through the lovely ( NOT) heat wave last week and I thought I was going to melt, not only that but as you know we had a cold, well Sammy and I did, we filled up DH with so much vitamins, he managed to avoid it. I am not looking forward to summer on this end of Sydney, I think it will be a big adjustment for the Canadian in me..well, at least we got air-con ( THANK GOD!) Sammy is not that good in the heat either, I think she gets that from mummy, we both get real cranky pants when we get hot, lucky daddy eh? DH is from Qld originally so loves it and handles it well. Sammy is soo close to walking...she is shuffling from one piece of furniture to another and i caught her basically free standing for about a minute with only one hand resting on the side of the bed but it was more for balance than anything. She has also started communicating very differently, I know she is "telling" me stuff now when I ask a question, you can see she actually understands what mummy is saying. I was telling DH but until today when he spent a bit of time with her ( he's been working OT lately to boost up our account) and couldn't believe the change. This last week has been monumental in development. For the 1st time yesterday, instead of always taking stuff out of everything, she is starting to put things into things, I've been trying to get her to do taht for months! She stil can't really say mum although I know sometimes I hear it, but its not like dada, but we are getting there. Sam has also been VERY CLINGY, whingy, temper tantrummy too. Tbh, I've been a bit over her these last couple days...not over her, but she has been very demanding and very trying on my patience and with DH pretty much working most of the time, it got a bit much but DH is home for the next 5 days so I'll get a bit of a break..Anyone else sometimes wish they could go back to work or is it just me? I'm sure the minute I would step foot in the office and work a full day, Id be over it pretty soon! lol We've had some major family issues too that I won;t bore you with (cause it would take 5 pages and that would only be the surface) so thats been chewing up my time too. We are slowly getting ourselves into a new routine with living out here, haven't really met many mums yet but that will come. Sammy just LOVES Rock and Rhyme..omg, she was at the front clapping her hands and bouncing up and down my leg so much that the lady that was running it kept laughing cause Sammy was enjoying it so much, shaking her rattle etc! Anyway, better run but will try to keep better at updating but with Xmas coming, I just know that there is so much to do , people to see and so little time to do it! Are you girls done your xmas shopping yet? Can I ask how much everyone is thinking about spending on their bubs??

I have some excitements,summers been pulling herself up in her cot when shewakes shes in the sitting up so cute aslo shes been going from sitting to being on her hand and knees wow!!An yesterday with a bit of edging on by anotherlittle girl was trying to move so hopefully!!!Shes been going on her hands and knees alot of her own want so im so pleased shes also been giving us kisses sooo cute she puts her arms round our head and opens her mouth and yah tell ya shes turned into a real kissing machine!!hahasorry only quik personals!!

Winters(aka Fat chops) hair was seriously out of control, but only on the top it was major fly away and was longer than her hairline on the base of her neck so we got it neatened up with the rest of it so now it is normal baby length all over... I kind of miss her rock and roll hair but she does look so cute now. As for going back to work, the only aspect of it I miss is the social interaction and talking rubbish all day with friends... I think Im going to try and meet some new people too.. I really want to make some friends where we dont just have babies in common, although I think that will be pretty much impossible these days. How did your BB meet up go? And your Canadian?!! Christmas we are going to get Piglet one of those double sided shells to swim in, and maybe something small, our limit for each other is usually about $100. What did you get Sammy? Im glad to hear she has such a great time at rock and rhyme. That sucks bout your DHs family causing drama, if you want to get anything off your chest you know we are here.

Clever girl Sammy! Watch out mummy Moose!!! I know exactly what you mean about Sammy communicating differently. In the past week I've noticed Oliver seems to be understanding a lot of what I say, and sort of telling me things... like I think he's trying to tell me 'boobie' when he wants a feed, lol.
That's great that Sammy loves Rock & Rhyme so much! Oliver likes it I think, but he just sits there and gawks!
PJ: Yay, go Summer!!! Sounds like she's moving forward in leaps and bounds now. That seems to be the way it happens - or it's how it happened with Oliver. Awww - sloppy kisses are the best!
Peach: That's so cute about Winter's first haircut. Oliver had his first haircut a few months ago, and now it's growing back curly!!! That sucks about the chest infection :( Hope you feel better soon.
AFM: Much, much, much better day/night - thank goodness!!! Oliver went down for his morning sleep no problems and slept for 1.5 hours. He woke up in the happiest mood - full of giggles and chatter. In the afternoon we went to visit my friend that I hadn't seen in like 3 weeks and Oliver was in full show-off mode, lol. He had a small sleep on me while we were there. Then this evening he went down to sleep no problems! He has woken up twice already :doh: but has gone back down in his cot!!! So, it seems it has passed :D.

how is every one doing? LO's keeping us busy?
We've been semi busy here. Dj is commando crawling "normaly" most of the time now, not lungeing at things (most of the time hehe) but he's as cute as ever. he's even started to get curls in his hair! (blonde surfer much LOL) but my DH had curls as a little boy (and he was blonde too!) so it'll be interesting to see what he ends up looking like! its crazy...the last ten weeks have flown...and chirstmas is not far off eather! where is the time going. and i still dont know what we're geting DJ for christmas eather! hope every one is having a good weekend :wiggle:

well had a horrid day yesterday well friday night really,im cringing as i speak you guys are gonna think we are awful but i forgot how mobile summers suddenly getting and its been habbit while shes little to leave her on the bed in her room,its a very low bed and the rooms carpeted but i put her right like at end against wall turned to walk away to put the bath on barely turned around and she rolled off so quick i couldnt believe it!!Well she was crying and i was shaking i felt so bad,she was fine it was only a small fall but it scared her and me,anyway happy as straight after but i kept her awake a while incase then she went to bed but woke up crying about an hour and a half later,well she never does that,she mite wake in the night a few hours later but even then its been rarely so shes crying at midnight and im in a panic thinkingi should of taken her to the hospital and asking DH what to do anyway she went back down then woke at 4.30 which is quite normal then at 7 but all times crying,then she was unsettled a while in the morning but fine and playing etc but i tell you i have never been so scared i still think i should of taken her but i spoke to a few older ladies i know and said it happens and just keep an eye on her,so im not sure if it a coincidence she just had a bad night or she still frightened from what happened but last night she was same as normal but we were sposed to have a nice lunch out saturday but she was asleep catching up and that so we didnt so i went to the library and got her a dvd and me and some books and brought lunch home to us but so the weekend was a bit of a worrying one and i felt sooo bad!!Shes all of a sudden real quick and mobile not crawling but rolling then getting up from laying down and that so at least shes mobile in some ways!Well ive really raved on sorry id better go just wanted to get it off my chest,hope everyone had a good weekend,we have my inlaws coming over tomorrow wish me luck my MIL never liked me!argh!night girls!!
oh dear dear its me again!!helllooooo is anyone out there hehe!Well i survived the day with the inlaws and actually it was really good,Dhs mum was in a good mood for once yipee!!Im so pleased because summer really enjoys it and since my mum isnt here she only has one grandma,we didnt do much jhust had a nice lunch and they took her down the park and just played with her the whole day,they love her so much its so sweet!So hows everyone else??I feel funny posting again!!Nothing much planned for this week,might be going to my sisters tomorrow for a swim for summer.We had a good night last night,summer was sooo tired she was in bed by 6.30 and she didnt wake till 5!!then went back to sleep till 7am.But i must say do any of you ladies have trouble sleeping?and have any remedies?I cant sleep real well,im dead tired most nights but never seem to sleep real well sometimes like last night have trouble sleeping at all.Ive tried some sleep herbal things i hate it because its typical i need the sleep and summer sleeps and i cant or vice versa,its only been since shes born i just dont sleep so well,i was real bad at first but better now only get it every so often argh sorry ive raved on again!!!!ok better go goodnight!!
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back on here... we ended up having quite a full-on weekend.
Okay, where do I start?
Well, last Thursday (as I mentioned) was DH's and my 4 year wedding anniversary. DH surprised me by taking the day off :). He went out and got pastries for breakfast, and also came back with a big bunch of flowers. DH came into Rock & Rhyme with Oliver and I too, which was nice.
Friday was my birthday, and DH had that day off too. In the morning we went to the pool so DH could finally see Oliver in the water. That was fun. In the afternoon we went for a drive. That night we had a couple of friends and my family over for cake. Got some good presents: DH I got a fancy nappy bag which I'd been after... but the colour of the bag was completely different to how it looked online (a beige/stone colour rather than the white/cream it looked). So, we've sent it back. I also got some nice coasters, a decorative paperweight, a necklace, a book, a willow tree angel figurine, and a few gift vouchers.
On Saturday I was preparing myself to leave Oliver for the first time. DH and I were going out for lunch for my birthday/our anniversary, and leaving Oliver with my parents while we went. We took Oliver there, dropped him off and were driving to the cafe for lunch... then I got a phone call. Arimeh (from here on BB) had gone into labour and I had promised to watch her two kids while she gave birth... From the sound of it, Arimeh was mid-contraction when she called! So, DH and I drove straight to Arimeh's house. Poor Arimeh was well and truly in labour when we got there! DH and I looked after her two kids A and M, and after an hour or so DH went and picked Oliver up, and also brought my sister back with him. So, that worked out well - we just took a kid each :). It was about 2pm when we went there, and about 4.5 hours later we got a message from Arimeh saying the baby had been born!!! She had a little girl :). Her DH came back at 8pm so we could go home.
On Sunday we bought presents for Arimeh and her new bub, then in the afternoon we were lucky enough to go and meet the new baby - she wasn't even a day old! OMG - I can't believe how small she was. You forget don't you.
Which brings us to today. Today I've been busy catching up on housework, doing a few jobs in town, and dropping off some food to Arimeh.
I honestly feel like I need another weekend to recover - I'm so exhausted.
Sorry no personals right now - I'm quite tired. I'll be back to do them tomorrow :).
sterla-sounds like you had a lovely anniversary and birthday!!!Wow exciting about Arimeh,that was so kind of you and your Dh to baby sit when it was your time,i bet she appreciated it!!
well as for me nothing much being as i posted not long ago haha,feeling sick here as once again ive pigged out on choccys heehee,why am so hopeless i ask myself?Didnt do much yesterday was soooo bored and felt i had to get out being as id been home so many days so i just took lunch over to my sisters and she had a play with summer for a while,then i waas out all this morning went the shops and chemist as they have cheap nappies etc then i went for coffee and muffin with a friend yumo!Now im home,summers been asleep a while tired out from the morning.I have my dad and his new wife staying so we doing a nice meal tonight and going out tomorrow so that will be nice,summer loves it.I got some of that complete sleep to try as im sooo over not sleeping so i'll give it a try hopefully it works!!Ok i can hear someones awake now better go byeee

PJ: Sorry - no one was here to talk to you! Yeah - it really pays to get out of the house! I get really stir-crazy if I'm home too many days in a row. I like being busy. Hope you and Summer are well.
Peach and Moose: How are you two doing? :)
AFM: I have a bit of a cold *sniff*, and so does Oliver and DH. Nothing too serious though. I feel a little bit yucky, and a bit sniffly - that's about it. Oliver just seems to have a runny nose so far. DH has a full-on man cold though :rolleyes:. This is actually my first cold in, gee, over a year!!!
We've had a fairly quiet week. Went to the pool with a few mums from MG on Tuesday, but then got my cold Tuesday night - so haven't done anything much the last few days. I managed to drag Oliver and myself to playgroup at my lil sister's school this morning, which Oliver seemed to enjoy.
I think Oliver might be having a growth spurt, cause he's really got his appetite back (after being off his food for a week or so), and has also been having really long day sleeps. Saw MIL yesterday too, and she said Oliver looked like he'd grown heaps.
Basically I'm just trying to take it easy until this stupid cold passes. I hate not feeling 100% - everything is much harder, especially with a bub to look after.
Anyway, I'm going to go and get back to reading my trashy book while Oliver sleeps! :)

AFM: DJ is still a deranged seal cub, who i think will eather end up working as an add designer OR in retail as he LOVES the catologs we get. we currently have a Woolies one strewn all over the floor. but he's happy! now for a rant LOL had my mum and dad over Wednesday. my mum spent almost the WHOLE time telling me how to arrange my house :wall: becuase "you'll have two babys before you know it" DUH IM THE ONE WHOES UP THE DUFF?!?! she didnt like the sound of me doing the whole co-sleeping/sleeping in another room to DH for the first month or two. she also said that i wouldnt be able to give DJ 100% attention, which i know but i fully intend on useing my sling again so i CAN sit in the floor with DJ and play - mums getting DJ a convertable bike thingy that goes from 10 months thorugh to 24 - so i'll *hopefully* be able to get out and take DJ on a walk with bundy in the sling. Ohh and her nose was out of joint when i told her MIL and FIL would be looking after DJ whilest we have our first scan (its at 9:30am) MIL and FIL live ohh 10mins away, my mum and dad? almost 20 - and in peak hour? 30. but i told mum that the next scan they'd be looking after DJ - whilest DJ isnt overly mobile its easyer on the IL's to look after him, FIL is almost 72. where as my dad is almost 62. but :dunno: she can get over it if the scan had of been later id have taken DJ with us but i also have to have a blood test after it! but i know why - my mums mum (nan) used to watch my sister and I when we where little. my mum expected the same i think, but she'll get over it. Ohh and last night we saw them too. she made the comment that i wont be able to get onto the floor to play with DJ at the end of the pg - i was on the floor at 42 weeks on fit ball, i'll be fine!but i think she's compairing me being UTD to her - she was 36 when she had me i'll be 21 when i have this bub - just a small age differance :wall:

Dansta-mums hey!!haha!they forget i think sometimes that alot has changed since there day.Like you say your alot younger too..Everyone has there opinions too i guess they all mean well just sometimes get up our noses,you gotta do whats right for you,its your house,your family etc your the one i reckon well thats how i feel,people tell me i should do this or shouldnt do that but at end of day we the mums so its up to us and we the ones who have to do it all.you cope sooooo well,i wish i could handle everything like you!Made me laugh about the nose out of joint thing,my MIL is like that with summer.
AFM- im having a real bad day,feel like bursting into tears,summers been awful all day crying and winging,shes soooooo tired but wont sleep,she'll have barely half hour and wake up screaming actually yeh the longest shes had is half hour shes been in her cot for like hour and half now and no proper sleep just keeps waking after few minutes crying,been horrible all day i dont know whats wrong with her,she was up all night too,im sooo tired,havent slept properly in dunno how long,sometimes i dont think i can do this anymore,sorry ladies sounding so dismall

Are you ok? It's not always easy is it? If you feel like crying, sometimes, letting it out and having a good cry can help too! I can't remember if you are married or not, but can someone maybe come and help you look after Summer to come over tonight or tomorrow and take over for a few hours? Your sis maybe? Just so you can have a few hours sleep, there is nothing wrong with having a bit of a break. When mummy is not happy, usually the family is not happy, so it is important that you also look after yourself. Have you tried yoga meditation? or even going to yoga class, I always find it really calms me and re-balances me.
Poor Summer, is it hot by any chance up there at the moment? I know Sammy just can't sleep in the heat ( as we found out last Saturday night when out with friends?)
Did Summer maybe eat something new in the last couple days? Or been constipated and maybe has a tummy ache? I really hope she settles for you soon. Sending you big hugsxxxxx
Dansta: Haha, yes I agree, I think mums do forget but in the end they mean well and you'll most likely do the same thing to your daughter ( maybe if Bundy is a girl!!) I don't want to pull the "age" thing on you but you will be AMAZED at how much you start resembling your parents the older you get..it's frightening, I hear my mum all in the time in me now! haha. I am sure that she will get over not looking after DJ for the scan, after all, you do have to share him around. It does suck though when they lay the guilt trip on you...so hard to keep everyone happy. I have no doubt that you will not neglect DJ and that you will be a great mum to your 2 little munchkins. I do wish I was 21 sometimes let me tell ya!

Sammy is mesmerised, but has not touched it as of yet and its on the ground but the look on her face was just so awesome when she saw the tree all light up, we caught it on camera too ( pity I didn't have my pj pants on, otherwise I'd post it on FB! LOL I am sure that will make for a nice 21st..Oh yeah nice one mum, no pants!! Haha
Peach: What;s up little missy? Hows fat chops? How did you cope with the heat wave??
AFM: well, what a busy week, does it ever stop? We went to my DH's cousin last Saturday and it was SO FREAKIN HOT out there, no pool and their air con is localised in the living room and Sammy's room must have been at least 35C stifling hot. tried to have her sleep in the pram but even inside the lounge, she just couldn't settle. Went outside for a walk when a breeze picked up, and Nah just would not go to sleep, she finally went down around 9pm, it was such a mission...but poor poppet has got her mummy canuck blood in her too, she is just not good with heat at all, neither am I. So we decided that on Xmas day if it is as hot as that, we are going to drive home instead cause DH's aunty has got no air con and I am not putting her through that again. I met up with a fellow BB'er this week, SUnshine, she was awesome and I think we kinda clicked. We are catching up again next Tuesday, was nice to meet someone new. I also started up my driving lessons again and it is SO MUCH easier in an auto, should have done it months ago! anyway, looks like I should be sweet to get my P's by March which is when my L's end and I don't have to go onto the 150 hours. Sammy is having such a huge developmental growth still, she is pickling things up so quickly, it's really amazing. It does go both ways though, more undertsanding = also more tantrums when mum is not doing something that Sammy wants! LOL but she'll get over that soon enough! haha The rest of the week just flew by as usual. Anyway, enough rambling, am starving an need to make myself something to eat. xxxx

AFM: DJ is commando crawling all over our lounge room now, chaseing the catologs we leave on the floor for him (cheapest toy we have LOL) and just starting to explore, but he hasnt left the carpet yet - hes whacked the floor boards with his hands a few times, they make a differant noise so he hasnt gone on them yet (about 75% of our house is floor boards with bedrooms carpeted)

11 weeks pregnant!!! :o Wow, you're gonna have a second bub before we know it! And I've just started getting clucky recently... I wanted to wait to have a bigger gap between bubs, but now I'm not so sure. Mind you, I don't even know if I can get pg atm, as AF still hasn't returned.

Moose: Lol - well, it's a trashy book by my standards - "L.A. Candy" by Lauren Conrad (who apparently is on some show called The Hills?) It was a birthday present. It's okay - but no great work or literature by any means! After I read this I have 3 more books to read - two girly comedy/romances, and on vampire book!
We are over our family cold now, pretty well. It wasn't very bad at all actually, Oliver only really had a runny nose as far as I could tell. It was a good excuse to take it easy for once though.
Oliver has had a few goes at the Christmas tree, but he really can't reach, so it's all good. He does try and eat bits of tinsel that always end up on the floor though.
I know what you mean about the hot weather - I don't deal with it very well either. Come and move to Tassie ;) - it's much cooler here (most of the time).
That's great that you met a fellow BBer! I bet there are heaps that live nearby since you're in Sydney. There aren't many members here in Tassie, but we try and all meet up every now and then.
:clap: Go Sammy! I know what you mean about the developmental spurts! Oliver seemed to have a physical spurt around 8 months when he started crawling, pulling himself to standing and walking around furniture. Now he's in the middle of a language spurt. Every day we notice new word he understands, and new sounds he says - his most recent sound is 'g' - and it sounded like he said 'good' last night, lol.

AFM: We had a fairly quiet week due to our cold :( Missed Playgroup and Rock & Rhyme and the pool. Friday night we went out for tea for DH's work Christmas dinner. Oliver came too, and there was another little one there too (a little girl who has just turned one). We went to the bosses house beforehand. Didn't get to restaurant until 7.45pm (already past Oliver's bedtime). I tried a few times to get Oliver to sleep, but he was just far too interested in what was going on. Everyone got quite merry, except for me and the other b/f mum, and Oliver was so tired by the end of the night that he was at that hysterical, giggly stage! We didn't leave until after 10pm, and then I drove home with a drunk DH in the backseat entertaining the hysterically tired Oliver! It was so funny!!!
This weekend has been quiet. I've been trying to catch up on housework, and Oliver has been trying to catch up on sleep.
Anyway, it sounds like Oliver is waking up - so I better go. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
