'ello ladies, thankyou for the well wishes
Mr Vic (0r monkey as he's known LOL) is in SCN. due to an infection which has the peads scratching their heads about. (trust, its my son who makes them wonder whats happening LOL) he's been there since he was about an hour and a half old. but doing well. shows no signs of being sick - other then the numbers from the bloods he's had done. they're mainly worried about meningitus at this point - as they did a Lumber Puncure yesterday and the pre-limb results showed white blood cells (i think the number was around 16 - or something so low) which means there is/was an infection but we'll *hopefully* find out what it was on monday (they need 48hrs to grow a culture) and depending on what it is he'll be home in 10days or upto three weeks (tendays starting from the day he was born BTW) so now we wait and see. other then that he's good. Ohh and has toung tie, but know whats happening as DJ also had that. but the funny thing is - other then a mis-shapen nipple Vic is very, very good at breast feeding! so i'm friggin' stocked about that. we'll hopefully get the toung tie cut ASAP - provided that hes not in hospital too long as NONE of the peads cut it at the hospital
DJ has met Vic once - he smiled but wasn't sure of him LOL. but intime they'll be getting to know each other. DH, MIL and FIL have been looking after him while i've been in and out of the hospital. so tomorrow DH, MIL and FIL will see VIC and i'll spend time with DJ. i miss him alot! i'm home on my own ATM as i just need some time out. and should be asleep (i've had no more then 4 hours of sleep since tuesday night/early wednesday morning!) but i though i'd update you ladies! i'll have photos on FB soon too of him. he's the polar oppset of DJ!
Hi Dansta!I have been keeping up with you a bit on FB,really hope all goes well and you can take your beautiful Vic home soon!Must be very tiring on you and Dh with all this happening and little Dj to care for too so wishing you all well and happiness, keep your chin up and hope its all good news to come home soon!!
Dj is teething again. been fairly misreable the last few nights (could also be a little green eye'd about vic too) but he's walking when some one holds his hands which is good. still not any where near walking on his own though. he's had a growth spert and looking like a really little boy. with HUGE frigging hands! like he can link his fingers though mine - with minmal streching! he's also still a daddies boy though and though. DH found a leak in my cars rear window (well 1/4 pannle window) and DJ spent like 30mins standing in the back of the car (wagon) watching DH fiddle around with the carpet! which was really cute. i also have a cute photo of DJ asleep on DH thismorning too. lucky for him DJ didnt dribble on him DJ is a little green eye'd about vic and hasn't quite grasped the idea of "genteal" with vic, but he's getting there. mind you carrying a toddler AND a new born isn't easy, but a little better when vic can hold his head up already 0_o but he can cuddle people really well and is a true ladies man - while in hospital DJ stole the hearts of a few of the nurses!
Vic is going well too. getting bigger. he's now in infant nappys over night - and soon will be in them during the day as well. (lucky my cousin is due to have twins in september, so i can pass on all the NB nappies and infant ones as they're unisex!) next week vic will have his first MCHN appt. to be weighed and mesured and alike. my guess is he'll be over the 5kg if not very, very close to the 5kg mark. the MCHN did a home vist today and she told me i was rather "laid back" about the whole thing. when i asked her what she expected me to be she said "a little upset" ohh dear. this women clearly has no idea what i'm like - dispite seeing everything that happend with DJ - this whole thing with Vic...is alot easier to deal with. yes its been more tromatic BUT i've been told what's been happening - i've been allowed to say no to things (Ie the Anti's vic was given was held off until after the blood tests confermed an infection). so yes, it was hard. but we're getting there. Ohh and she and the hospital failed to put on my discharge summery that my membraines ruptured as vic's head was crowning
Well, I am definitely going to post a BIG post later, but for now I just wanted to share with you girls that I'm pregnant!!! Three tests today, and three . I still can't believe it, but I'm so happy!!!
Okay, so I'm back and am aiming to write a (hopefully) big post.
Firstly, yes I was being serious, I am pregnant. It doesn't feel real, I've only had today to process, and I still can't quite believe it. AF was about two days late, though it's been kind of hard to tell what my cycles are doing while I'm still breastfeeding. That's another reason why I really wasn't expecting a BFP - I was never quite sure when I was ovulating, or quite sure when AF would be due. Obviously we must have done something right though!
So, this morning first thing I did a test. When I first looked I could only see one line, but then I had a closer look and could just see the faintest hint of a second line. I showed DH and he could see it. But it was so faint I had trouble believing it.
Arimeh was coming to visit in the morning, and she had a spare test so I asked her to bring hers. So she did, and I did another one. Again, I initially thought it was negative, but then on closer inspection I could just make out a second line. Mel (Arimeh) had a look and she could definitely see it. But once again, because the line was so faint I just couldn't believe it.
Then, in the afternoon I bought another 3 pack of tests - this time the really sensitive ones. I did the test, and this time there was a very, very clear second line. Finally, I believed it!!!
DH is really happy. We haven't had a chance to discuss it very much yet, since he was at work, and now we have MIL staying with us tonight - but he seems very happy .
I'm not exactly sure how far along I am - 4-5 weeks would be my guess, but I think I'll ask for a dating scan at some point so that I can know for sure how far along I am.
There's so much to think about... but for now I still trying to wrap my head around it.
***I'll be back another time for an Oliver update . For now I better go have some birthday cake with the MIL.
STERLA-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!Thats lovely news!!Im so excited for you!Me and DH were thinking of trying while we are on holiday now but hes a bit too still not sure so we decided to wait just another couple of months but i cant wait!!Cant wait to hear of the scan.
DANSTA-Hows things going?you had a rough trot.Is it really hard with 2 I worry how id cope,You amaze me you just seem to be so calm and good mum threw all youve been threw.Sounds like you are just totally enjoying it now.
AFM-We are on holiday at the moment which is nice Summer srprised me and has been a good sleepeer while away except last night was awful she was up 3 hours at least in the night. She been having a few tannys which are really driving me crazy well more embaressing than anything!Does anyone else have them?I wasnt even sure if this thread was still going yah!Its been so long since we had our bubs!
Pj: DJ has tanties when DH leaves. but other then that he's all good. sounds like you're holiday is going well.
as for dealing with two, its not *too* bad, yep we have days where im like but i guess that happens with one as well. i have been 'calm' most of the time. other times - like with Vic in hospital i was anything but. i was rather biatchy to a pead who wanted to start anti's strait away. and another pead copped it last week when she told me how "sick" vic looked in SCN - according to the notes. i corrected her and told her the only reson they had an idea he was sick was due to a fever that resloved its self AND never came back. also the blood tests. that was all. none of this sick caper and the jaundaice was NOTHING as once again only blood tests showed it up
sterla: im still bouncing around for you! teehee! i'll be stalking your ticker now. will you find out with this little Twinkle? (OMG love the name!!)
AFM: been fairly crusey around here. DJ still isn't walking but meh. i've given up on dates/times. we should be seeing an early interverntion group soon. see if that helps. i admit i'm not overly worried. friends of MIL their girls didn't walk until they where three. and DJ isn't really talking eather but my aunt didnt talk until she was 3 as well. but he's going well. got an eye tooth though earlier this week. as well as two points to a molar. Vic is going well too. saw the MCHN on tuesday. i didn't realise but he was born on the 90th% for weight and just above the 75th% for hight. and is still there, and fully BF'd only down side is i cant seem to find any nice b.f friendly tops for my nans 90th/christmas, which is a little annoying. the only nice ones i've seen are $100+ (but i haven't really looked at Ebay yet. plus my size is a little *ahem* harder to find...im an 18DD in bra's atm.)
Ohh and i dont know if any of you remember "tracy&tribe" she lost her little girl at 41+3 due to a rupture (VBAC)?? she's expecting again (her new name is ButterflyForever) and she's 16 weeks. i almost cried when i saw her ticker.
Well, I'm back. I always take ages to remember to come back, lol.
PJ: Thanks . We're pretty chuffed! That's so exciting that you're thinking of trying for another bub soon! I can totally understand being unsure though - it's a lot to think about! Sounds like you're having a great time on your holiday! I'm glad Summer is sleeping well for you, for the most part, while you're away.
We haven't had any full blown tanties here, but we get close sometimes, especially when Oliver is already a bit tired or grumpy. He almost lost it at playgroup yesterday when I took a texta off him because he was sucking on it. Luckily he was fairly easily distracted out of it! I don't know how much last it will last though - I've heard a lot of little kids really kick it up with tantrums when they turn 2. Let's hope not!
Dansta: LOL, I'm glad you're so excited for me! And yes, I finally came up with a belly name! Oliver didn't have one, so I really wanted to have one for this one - I was thinking for a couple of days, and then Twinkle just came to me! Mind you, my way of thinking to getting there was a bit, um, odd. It actually came from me thinking "I loved you when you were just a twinkle in your father's eye" . Anyway, now we have a name and I'm really happy with it.
I think we will find out boy or girl for Twinkle - I guess I'm hoping for a girl, mainly because I do really want a girl, and if I have one this time round it takes the pressure off for later children, iykwim?
Try not to worry about DJ - he'll get there . When he's in school running around with all the other kids, no one is going to care if he started walking when he was 1 or 3! Glad to hear Vic is going well - I saw a pic of him the other day and he's looking so well! Such a cutie-pie! Wow about Vic being on the 90th for weight and 75th for height! Big boy . And I am so, so happy for you that breastfeeding is working out so well this time! That is awesome!!! I'm no help with breatfeeding tops... I'm a 18H . The best I could manage was wearing a singlet top that was quite stretchy underneath tops, then I used to just pull the singlet top down enough to pop out a boob!
I didn't know about ButterflyForever - how wonderful for her!
AFM: So, I have been the doctors and had all my blood tests done. Came back with a positive result, of course, so I am no 'officially' pregnant! All my other results came back good, so no problems there. I have been booked in for a scan when I'm around 12 weeks (5th October) - it's supposed to be the down syndrome, etc screening scan, but will also double as a bit of dating scan, as I'm not totally sure on my dates. We were told we can bring along a CD or DVD to record the scan onto as well, so that is super exciting, cause all we got for Oliver were a couple of flimsy, small photos.
I've also contacted the independent midwives at the local Birth Centre and they are happy to look after me - but they don't start that until 16 weeks, so still a bit of a wait. I am really after a VBAC, and I think the birth centre will give me the best chance of that.
I have been feeling a bit bloated, and fairly tired, but apart from that I'm feeling good. No morning sickness yet.
We have told my parents and brother and sister, and DH's mum and brother so far - everyone has been really happy for us.
Oliver is really good. He seems to have finally gotten over his string of illnesses. At the moment he still has a cough, but that's it. He is a very busy little boy - his current favourite pastime is hiding things under/in things. He has a little tombliboo finger puppet that he likes to hide under our couch cushions, then he shrugs his should and puts his hands out as if to say "where is it?", so we say "Where is the tombliboo?", then he retrieves it and says "Der is" which is Oliver for 'there it is'. It's very cute, but he'll do it over and over and over again so it gets a bit tiresome!
We are getting lots of new words, though most of them still aren't very clear, but I know what he's saying, so that's the main thing I suppose!
Last week we had Oliver's 18 month check, and that went well. He is 10.18kg and 83.5cm tall - so tall and skinny! The child health nurse was really happy with how he's going though, and was very impressed that I was still breastfeeding. And, speaking of breastfeeding, it looks like Oliver and I are the last ones to wean from our mums group. There were a fair few still going, but in the past couple of months they have all weaned, except for Oliver and I. I don't think Oliver will be weaning anytime soon either, unless the pregnancy causes him to.
I think that's all - we haven't really had much happen apart from our big news. I'm very much over winter, can't wait for the weather to warm up.
gah 11 weeks sterla! thats just nuts! *cluckcluckcluck*
things here are good.
Dj still isn't walking but he's trying! which is good. waiting on early intervention and all still. but other then that he's just cheeky. although we did give him his first shave-hair cut. thanks to a bad hair cut from me so he now looks like a real little man, which is very cute. he's also become DH's shadow, he can crawl really fast to keep up with him! he's also still co-sleeping with DH although the other night he slept in his cot from 11pm-5:30am which was nice and vic was in the bassent beside the bed so DH and I got to snuggle, alone together in bed for the first time since before vic was born! but once DJ clams down some then it'll be all four of us in bed together - until it gets too hot that is
Oh and we're starting to use cloth nappys too! im waiting on 6 (i think it is LOL) all up and then we'll do more then every 2nd day cloth which will be fun. i love how cute the cloth looks on both boys!
hope every one is having a good weekend!
Hi Ladies,
long time no speak....just wanted to let you know that I got my BFP today for no2!!!! Due date is Jan 14th, obviously its way to early to tell anyone, but YAY, had to tell someone. WOOHOOO!
Holey Crap I cant believe this thread still exists
Sterla, how you feeling Hun? Hope your well, cant wait to hear your BA...knowing how slack I am on here Ill no doubt be the last one to the party
CONGATULATIONS Moose!!! That is great news, very excited for you So how many weeks are you? How are you and Sammy going?
I had my scan on monday(Im 19 weeks today) and guess what? We are having a boy!!!! Such a great suprise! He is already big for dates and she estimated he'll be 9lb if he arrives on time.... my poor vagina.
late replies but wow so much on the go, we got given notice that the owners are selling the place and decided to move in with the in laws on the Central Coast to see if we like it and its a bit further for work for DH so to test out on travelling as well. Apart from the unbelievable amount of house inspections to show prospect buyers ( I am on at least 15) and trying to keep the house clean, this pregnancy has not been easy. A LOT of cramping which has me with a heated wheat bag on my tummy every night and the afternoon are awful with tiredness at the moment. I went to the Dr to check on cramping and went for what I thought was an 8 wks scan...I was just under 6 wks and were lucky to see a heartbeat, however, it was only 67 bpm which is low, but both Dr and technician said that because of the age of the foetus, not to worry. I am going for my "real" 8 wks scan next week to follow up. Still got lots of cramping but not spotting or bleeding so thats what I am on the lookout for, then I can start worrying. THey also found a small hemerroage (sp?) in my uterus but same goes, no spotting=good news. So trying to stay positive, but will be nice next week to see if all is ok in the belly.
Other than that, my very keen of smell is back with a vengeance but ms has been quite good this time around, what is NOT good is hormones...WOW I am like a volcano waiting to erupt every 5 minutes. Seriously, I am having a bit of a hard time coping with Sammy at the moment who is in full swing of terrible 2's, with being defiant, not listening to anything I say or doing anything as she is told. I have been yelling a lot and I can't seem to control it. DH has been copping it in. Last time, I was teary, this time I am all "grrrrrrrrrrrrrr" which is not very nice. It will be good to move iin with MIL and FIL as they can help with Sammy, I just have NO patience with her at all and its just not fair. It's almost as if maternal instinct/nurtureness goes out the door a couple times a day. Hoping this goes away soon. My MIL guessed I was pg and I think a couple more people suspect as we had a death in the family amost all this, I didn't have a few glasses of wine and think DH's aunty caught on but she is too nice to ask, she knows I'll tell when ready, as she has just lost her hubby, it will be nice fo9r her I think, one goes, one is born...
Peach: AWESOME!!! another little fat chop eh? One of each then...will it be the end??? I am sure your vagina will be fine too but 9lbs, he's a big fat chop then!! Haha
Sterla: Adele is just so beautiful, how is Oli coping? Is he nice to her? was he good in pg as well, Sammy keeps on pushing me in the belly, we have explained to her that there is a bubba in there (we';ve had pg friends around so she understands the concept per say) not sure if this is early jealousy. All I can tell you is that when we went to visit my friend who jst had a newborn and I was holding him, Sammy was doing 150 circles around me asking to be picked up...will have to be careful on how we approach the whole thing.
Did any of you had monster hormones with no2...its a bit worrying, this morning I just feel I can't cope with Sam at the moment...WE are off to playgroup, so bound to let off some steam.
Oh and the funniest thing with new dates, my new EDD is 25th January, Sammy's was 27th of January, can't believe I am going to have 2 summer babies and only 1 to 2 weeks apart, December, Jan and Feb are going to be expensive months in the coming years.!
